Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Today, thus far, had been an abnormal one. Typically, the descendant of Byakko was a busy man either teaching a class, working at the Hospital, or handling clan matters whenever he wasn't sleeping. But, he had nothing assigned to him oddly enough almost like his colleagues and family were hinting to him to take a breather as he had been working himself like a dog metaphorically. However, he didn't like to have all this time alone cause it allowed his mind to wander about his past from his family dying in Iwagakure to the numerous times that he had almost died if it wasn't for Lord Byakko to name just a few. Thus, he would put up a notice on the bulletin board in the school and explain to whoever was reading it that he would be willing to teach one student today if they could answer a simple question from him. That question would be kept a secret until the students began to approach him in front of the building on the bench that he was sitting.

While he waited though, he would take in the fresh, warm air of the village as the children of the Academy had been dismissed as bells could be heard from the building. It was only a matter of time before the students began to approach him and failed to answer his basic question towards them. But, he had faith in the future of the village and knew someone was going to approach him and know how to answer his question. However, the wave of students would begin to lessen and lessen as he sat and waited as more and more stray kids left. Even some of the teachers would walk by giving him a friendly smile or nod, but nobody appeared to be interested or the one just hadn't come yet.

He would wait a little while longer to see if anyone of strays from the Academy would want to take him up on his offer for a tutoring session. The subject would even be up to them, but they needed to answer his simple question first. Who would decide to try next?

It was her turn. She had been practicing nearby, and was on her way home when she saw the posting on the bulletin board as she was about to exit the grounds. She had noticed the person around, an academy regular and teacher here. She almost took his class once, but diverted at the last second to take up a session with Kuro, one of sands big hitters. It wasn't too often one got to be trained by someone in such high regard. Regardless, she would approach the man sitting on the bench. She would stare at him for a moment, sizing him up, and then ask him a question.

"So, what's the question? Must be hard if it's fooling everyone I just saw leave in tears!"

She didn't say hi, nor introduce herself. She said it blatantly, plainly, and without care for what was about to happen. If she won, yay, but if not, she still had Kuro. She had options, something many people didn't. Though the man in front of her didn't know that. She was herself, almost featureless, looking behind a series of coats.

As he sat there, he continued to ponder if his question was actually too difficult for students to be able to answer or if he had been having the ambitious, but less intelligent, ones try to tackle it first. At the end of the day, it didn't truly matter as nobody seemed to have the correct answer for his satisfaction, but he would see a young, female student start to approach him. It wouldn't take her much time at all to get right down to business by asking him what his question was when she was standing right in front of him. He even gave a small smirk at her as he liked her attitude; she seemed like she would have the best chance of getting it right with this approach. It would take no time at all for him to address her and he began with the following: "The question is a simple one, but it has definitely been stumping other students. However, let's see if you can give me a correct answer for it, shall we?"

There would be a brief pause as he cracked his neck and would scratch an itch that had appeared on his back just now. But after he prepared himself, his eyes would go right back to hers and he would begin to address her with a stern voice: "You are on a mission with two other shinobi from your village and decide to enter a cave to get away from the elements and to rest as you all have been traveling for quite some time. During your stay in the cave, the entrance is sealed off and there are no other ways to escape the cave. You have little to no food or water. However, you are aware that a search party will come after you if you don't return back to your village by the designated time, but if they find you, you will fail your mission. Another twist to consider is you are unaware of how long it will take anyone to find your team." Hopefully, her wheels in her head were starting to spin as this scenario had some key points to consider that could help her with answering his question that would come shortly.

After he gave her a few moments to digest the case, he would turn his head back to her and give her two simple questions: "What do you and your team do? Also, why do you do this action?"

It was now time for him to sit there and wait to see what she would come up with. Hopefully, she would be able to give a reasonable and rational answer that didn't make her look silly or embarrass her family name in the process once he figured out her name. Only time would truly tell if she was worthy of his tutoring or not.

"The question is a simple one, but it has definitely been stumping other students. However, let's see if you can give me a correct answer for it, shall we?"

She nodded as the man cracked his bones like he was about to prepare a verbal beat down, followed by a back scratch, odd.

"We shall!" she exclaimed, excited that this was about to take place. She loved running through scenarios, answering riddles, and the like. She always was sort of an out of the box thinker. Though with her predicament, who wouldn't be? What predicament is that you ask? Find out later when it's revealed ya dingus!

"You are on a mission with two other shinobi from your village and decide to enter a cave to get away from the elements and to rest as you all have been traveling for quite some time. During your stay in the cave, the entrance is sealed off and there are no other ways to escape the cave. You have little to no food or water. However, you are aware that a search party will come after you if you don't return back to your village by the designated time, but if they find you, you will fail your mission. Another twist to consider is you are unaware of how long it will take anyone to find your team."

She was looking for a trick of the tongue. Something that suggests these people are in no danger at all. Something he slipped in there to make it seem like it was going to stump her, she was looking too hard.

"What do you and your team do? Also, why do you do this action?"

She thought of possibilities. Stuck in a cave with no way out? At least she had a team.

"Ahem..." she cracked her knuckles as he had done to his body, as if about to throw her own verbal punches, the sound of the crack rivaling lightning itself.

"First and foremost is a situation assessment to see if both the cave is truly inescapable or not, for all we know it's a genjutsu, and also what the overall skill set of my other team mates are. If they are conducive to getting out of the cave safely,
we'd plan steps to do so and get out accordingly. However, should my team mates and I not be able to do so, because they or myself are indept, I'd suggest hibernating. Suppressing our body functions through heavy forced sleep and rationing of supplies until such time as we are found. I am not afraid to fail, it's part of growing. I am however, afraid of cannibalism that comes with poor rationing of food resources and pounding at rocks that won't budge using all of our strength and possibly collapsing the cave. We know the rescue party is coming, we don't know when, but it IS and that means we just need to hold out."

She rubbed her chin, and primed herself for the joke of a lifetime.

"But if worse comes to worse, we eat the medic. He or she will want to be eaten by us, cause they looooove helping!" she made a dopey smile, though it couldn't be seen through all the coats. Her eyes however, looked pretty dead inside, a real mix match of expressions.

Fortunately for the two of them, it would not take this young lady anytime at all to respond to his scenario. Her response had the descendant of Byakko bring his hand to his chin as a nod began to display itself to her response. This nod did not mean that she had successfully passed his question however as he was merely digesting the information provided to him and trying to rationalize with himself if it was an acceptable answer to the situation that was posed to her. A lot of nodding actually would happen during and after her response and her dopey smile after her last comment about eating the medic typically would've had Kyuji become irritated or respond with a simple flick to the forehead of the student, but he let it go this time as it was a reasonable additional to the scenario.

After the information would all be digested, Kyuji would allow a smile to surface on his face as he placed his only hand on her shoulder. He would then respond to her: "You pass. That's an acceptable answer. Ideally, one would not want to be in that situation in the first place, but you covered your bases for what you would did in the situation and you showed that your teammates may or may not be able to contribute to escape and the unpredictability of the cave collapsing. You also admit that failure is a part of growing that many students and shinobi in this world forget all the time. You are worthy of learning from me." His hand would leave her shoulder as he got up from the bench and cracked his neck once again. It seemed he was actually going to have some fun today after all.

But first, he needed to know what the child wanted to learn from the great feline descendant since he left it up to the one who actually answered his situation correctly. So that is exactly what he would do with his next few words: "What would you like to learn? The choice is yours since you answered correctly. Also, what is your name since I never properly heard it when you first approached. I love to know my students' names so I can keep up with how they are doing after they graduate from the Academy."

Edit on 11/11: I am electing to make this take up a free RP slot for me, but it would still grant Chieko tutor rewards if it is finished.]

The descendant of Byakko would sit there and wait for the girl to speak once more. But, she would do no such thing as it was like she had frozen up. Now, this wasn't necessarily a normal occurrence with Kyuji, but it had happened before likely due to his intimidating gazes that he could give or the fact that he was missing an arm. In any case, some time would pass before the descendant would rise from his seat and simply say: "We will have to continue this some other time. I must go for now."

He would then head off to his home where his waifu and kiddos were likely waiting on him. They would meet again sometime soon!

[OOC: I am sorry, but it's been almost two months and I need the slot. We will have to play again sometime! Topic left unless stopped]
