Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Sometimes the work of protecting the hidden cloud proved to be so tedious that it was sickening. Kaji Okada just couldn’t estimate how frequently he kept the lights on in the Sileo Tempesta’s Central Command so late into the night. Even his office aides were developing rings beneath their eyes from the intense sleep depravity. Since Kaji began his tenure as the Vice Commander, the staff kept bed rolls tucked away at the HQ for those endless nights of hard work. “We work hard so our families can rest soundly” was often Kaji’s mantra when he asked for thick reports to land on the center console before sunrise. This was the ultimately the design of the ANBU, or so Kaji often told his comrades— to protect the Hidden Cloud by keeping law and order at all levels and ranks. Whether he was strategizing with a squad before a battle, personally patrolling the halls of the Sileo, or hunting down the vast enemies of goodliness on the peaks of Momento Deo— Kaji Okada always managed it with a determined mindset. It was the way of a honed Anbu to remain studious and neutral. You work to obtain the needed information as an anbu, and do it with a clear head. Always clear and concise. Yet, something recent had Kaji on edge, maybe even angry. He was pushing himself and the many masked ones at his disposal, redirecting resources, and creating a manhunt to uncover disgusting contraptions… all in an effort which became a vendetta of sorts.

In truth, it all began as a haphazard discovery made by a dusty old grid engineer named Torazo Noguchi working his usual assignment in the Susukino District. Despite being known for its innovation, you should know that the infrastructure of the Hidden Cloud’s energy grid is actually fairly dated— that’s just what happens when something is made well, it lasts a long time. So, a couple weeks ago Mister Noguchi received calls about disruptive surges to the grid from some of the tenants. He said it actually took a couple of hours, but Torazo’s search for the cause of the surge led to what he described as “Some newfangled camera-thing… ‘It was jury-rigged by some f****** amatuer so I stripped it.” Torazo was initially irate when he reported his find and turned over the camera to the authorities, complaining that “The Hidden Cloud isn’t a surveillance state! ‘Our people deserve better.” Torazo was right. And, as with any infestation, more complaints flooded in of strange spikes around the village's fragile power supply due to the jury-rigging. So, it wasn’t before long that first state of the art wireless camera found its way to the Sileo, and Kaji Okada was simply ordered to “fix this.”

The Anbu branch is where you go when you need to get ahead of a scandal, that was for certain as Kaji pulled dozens of shinobi from their usual duties to take part in a vast sweep. Luckily, the Hidden Cloud was rife with the noble Santaru, who eagerly participated in tracking abnormalities in the power grid. Keen-eyed Hyuuga were also tasked with finding the out of place chakra-based energies of these unique devices. Lastly, the Cloud’s genius shinobi, known fondly as the Quick Learners, were gathered to easily predict the patterns of whoever sought out locations they thought ideal for setting these devices— apparently, this was an easy criminal mind to pick apart. All in all, after about a week of work, a total of three hundred and sixty-two cameras were uncovered and taken off the streets. It might have been a relief in some ways, but it really just opened the doors to a much greater mystery. A crime like this took dedicated amounts of time and resources to accomplish, let alone gaining unheard of technology. With the ANBU’s laundry list of suspects growing ever larger by the day, Kaji Okada and his allies were on the hunt to catch a predator preying on the unsuspecting masses.

- Kaji Okada has entered the thread.
- As the tag implies, this thread is open to all Cloud Anbu, Sennin, and Kage.

[col]A summons. Ugh. Well, work is work and he had to fulfill his part of the bargain. At least that's what he had to do or spend the rest of his decrepit life in a jail cell, locked up and separated from the beauty of nature. The midget that he had in the house, one of the 'butlers' in the estate was busy cleaning blood off of the floor in the house. He scrubbed and scrubbed with a bucket of reddening water and a once white rag in his hand. He watched Kyo and Dakota track through the floor on their way out, leaving bloodied footprints in their wake, forcing a sigh from the butler, now having more area to clean up. Poor guy.

Kyo and Dakota cleaned their feet once they hit the grass and made their way towards Sileo Tempestas where, with a little bit of resistance, had to verify his identity before entering. He had resistance with Dakota as well, but with a few smarmy comments and a bit of yelling, the two were finally let in properly. Shaking his head, he walked into the headquarters and made his way towards the leader's room where he found himself standing just outside of the Sennin's office for a moment before adjusting his raggly hair and walking into the room with the massive wolf in tow.

Kyo walked in through the doorway and then turned to assist the massive wolf through, having troubles fitting through, until the wolf squirmed in, causing Kyo to smack the back of his head upon the ground after tugging the massive creature in. Regardless of what people wanted, he wasn't going to leave his partner outside during a meeting. Where Kyo went, Dakota was sure to follow. After standing himself back up, he looked around at the decor for a moment and scratched at the 5'o clock shadow that was forming and nodded. "Luxurious, hm? Too bad the people in the slums couldn't live like kings," he said. Regardless of how decorated the office was, it was still better than the hovel that those down-on-their-luck would have it. Hell, Kyo might actually house some of those downtrodden in the massive home that he 'inherited' from his parents. To keep as paid servants, of course.

His eyes turned towards Kaji's for a moment, placing a hand upon his hip. "Please tell me I get to wound someone today," he said with Dakota yawning and taking a seat behind Kyo and to his right.|

Ren startled awake and yawned loudly. Rubbing the sleep from his eyes, he took a moment to collect himself. The ANBU Elite found himself in a small room just barely big enough to qualify as office. The desk he sat at took up most of the available space and the many stacks of papers and dossiers stole away what little there was left. As he drowsily leafed through one of the folders, realization sat in. "The espionage matter!" He muttered, jolting awake. He'd spent the night at the Legation, meeting up with members of the Kumogakure Shinobi Intelligence Service the morning before. Going through all their findings had taken up the better part of that day. Writing up the meeting reports had been challenging, the large chunks of mission reports to be condensed into a presentable deliverable. Glancing at the clock, the Shinobi muttered a curse. Just another four hours left until the report would be expected on the Vice-Commanders desk.

Three hours, give or take a few minutes, Ren stapled the final lot of papers together and placed them in another binder. Going through some handseals, he placed his hand on top, forming a seal on the documents. It was a variant on the infamous ANBU Tattoo seal which was used for identifying their members and gain entrance to the Sileo. Rushing out of the tiny room, he waved a goodbye at some of his former Main Branch colleagues. Contrary to some of his more.. bloodthirsty fellows in the ANBU, Ren did not mind doing paperwork. He'd shown some aptitude at it while working for the Communications Office and secretly prided himself on his extensive mission reports. It wasn't that he shied away from combat or was no good at it, mind you. He wouldn't have been admitted into the Branch or have reached his current rank otherwise. But there was something calming about being able to sit down, order his thoughts and process information.

Likewise, for this matter, he'd been unable to assist much in the search for the devices. His skills did not lend themselves to tracking down the electronic devices or destroying them. Furthermore, he lacked the affinity to reverse engineer such gadgets. He trusted any advanced machinery to the point he understood it, which was to say not much at all. These latest inventions were no different. They promised a frightening prospect. If one is be able to not only listen in but have a visual representation of things happening over such a long distance and be able to store such recordings.. It borders on the impossible! Ren thought. Then again, many non-Shinobi likely thought that of their abilities too. His gloomy thoughts were disrupted by a growling stomach. Realizing he'd not eaten for almost an entire day by now, the ANBU ducked into a small store before swiftly continuing his way to the Sileo.

Knocking on the door to the Vice-Commander's office, Ren walked in. The man had a somewhat tired look, though Ren himself was probably no different. The ANBU had noticed others of the Dai Gensui sporting a similar look. No doubt they were being put their paces with this latest hotbed on top of the regular dealings. He saluted Kaji and offered the other a nod. "Kyogi reporting in sir. I've brought the KSIS' findings as requested." With that, the Elite would offer the bundle of dossiers by placing it on an occupied spot of the desk. "It focuses on potential perpetrators; including the Deathwatch's reports on entries and exits over the last 10 months as well profiles from foreign powers. Bear, Marsh et al., but also Raiden no me and Tenouza." Ren remained standing behind a chair. He'd await any further instructions before sitting down, just in case he'd be sent off straight away again.

It felt like Miraku couldn't keep himself out of the Sileo lately. With the Dreadnought issue, training and now this new issues, he had found himself spending quite a bit of time within these walls. The newest issue at hand was a large number of cameras that had been found placed throughout the village and needed to be tracked down and removed. Currently, they weren't sure who the culprit was, but surely it wouldn't take them too long. Miraku had spent the past few days taking shinobi and ANBU around to find and clean up some of the camera's he and a few others could figure out the locations for based on advantageous lines of sight and tactical positioning for information gathering. Most were hidden quite well, but if one knew where to look or had the right skills to find such things, it was only a matter of time before they were found.

With the cameras seemingly all found, the time had come for them to figure out who was behind this and plan how they would deal with the group or individual behind this invasion of their villages privacy. They couldn't just let them get away with something like this. It seemed obvious the person or people responsible were quite skilled since they were able to get cameras into places no regular person should have been able to get to. Getting up that morning, it was cold in Miraku's place. He had left the window open slightly to let the fresh air in, but the night had been chilly. Getting out of bed and dressed, he knew today was the day. Getting dressed up in his usual Shinobi garb, and jacket on top, he pulled up the hood as he headed to the front door to leave his place and head towards the Sileo.

The cold air brushed across his face as he closed the door behind him. He was in sort of a hurry as he didn't want to be late for this meeting. Quickly jumping up the side of his home, he made his way onto his roof before lunging off it onto another, bounding his way across the rooftops heading towards the ANBU base, his face covered enough by his hood to skip the mask for today, as he approached the entrance. Making his way inside, his identity as an ANBU confirmed, he headed down the hall towards the meeting room. As he arrived and entered, he spotted Kaji, Kyo, and Dakota as well as someone he had yet to meet. He nodded to all of them as he took off his hood and walked off to the side to wait for the start of their meeting.

This place where the shinobi gathered was the absolute nerve center of the Anbu Organization. The Sileo Central Command was no small facility, rather it was a large Operations Center full of tech and resources to aid the branch in research, strategizing, and commanding the Cloud’s protectors. The space had a large oval shape with staircases diving the room into open levels— to the back was the Commander’s console where Kaji occupied it with empty coffee cups and stacks of binders with inch-think reports. Varnished espresso wood and stainless steel surfaces gave the room a sheen. There were two more stations on the level below that, occupied by an aid and analyst, both coming and going as they worked. Below that was the central floor-level section of the room, the area containing a large roundtable which housed the crystal of scrying, and a plastic bin of small portable cameras marked as evidence. This is where Kaji stood with one of these cameras in hand, holding it up to the overhead lights.

And he wasn’t dressed for the field— no, Kaji was maskless, revealing those glaring, emerald eyes and his stoic visage. His raven blades of hair were contained though, knotted in a loose bun. He wore a flatly charcoal, wool, all-weather jacket with a vintage Lightning Corps patch sewn into the shoulder. Beneath this was a turtleneck jersey with a rolled collar, equally black. He always came with the illustrious saber Eelspine hanging from him, this time holstered behind his waist and hanging horizontally. There was little point in wearing a disguise with such a unique weapon in tow, and as he gained a reputation he lost his desire to wear the porcelain mask pointlessly. He was pacing around the center console restlessly, swishing sounds coming from his midnight-blue slacks, and stomps pronouncing his black combat boots. The village authority needed results: that much was clear, and he was pressing hard to find them.

While many shinobi were involved in the efforts, some reported directly to Central Command, aiding in the efforts to resolve the debacle thoroughly. Kaji had met the wildling Kyo and his beast companion once before, and even faced the Dreadnought with Soku, but hadn’t met the third young man before. While Kyo and Soku proved to be invaluable assets for finding the cameras given their skill sets, the third man came with information, courtesy of recognized resources.

While finding the cameras was a feat in itself, the next step in the investigation was to follow a sparse breadcrumb trail back to the one behind the scheme. Many shinobi, like Kyo, was eager to hit the streets in search of the perpetrator, however, as with any hunt, they would have to pick their targets carefully or risk alerting them that the chase was on. Whoever was responsible probably knew their cameras were down by now, if the things worked as they intended. However, they might have been brazen enough to not go into hiding, thinking their alibi to be perfect. “There’s a lot of names on our list of suspects— some of them require surveillance before was can bring them in for questioning, while I want some of the low-lifes snagged as soon as we find them.” Kaji then placed a hand on the central pad of the console, and performed two single-handed seals. This caused the large crystals at the center of the table to pulsate with light before triggering the dance of voluminous light, creating holographic images of names with faces in 3D busts. Kaji went on to explain; “we already have thirteen potential suspects with either motives, the technological expertise, or past activities relatable to the camera scheme.” And Kaji went on to name them all—

Shinrya Kitsune
Kashiwa Shigetoki
Jo Yoshiyuki
Yamasato Masashige
Chigokai Osuteno
Shimabukuro Kojiro
Kotake Nampo
Dokuro Rea
Kojima Okichi
Okane Ei
Kiyabu Taroemon
Ohara Shun’en
Uchiha Izura

“I recognize that a few of the names on this list will come to mind as individuals with upstanding reputations on our village, however you can’t always expect those who operate outside the bounds of the law to do so maliciously. Sure, there might be matters at hand we don’t understand, but the guilty will still have to answer for what they did.” Of all the names, only a few had the kind of potential ties and resources affiliated with the list Kyogi provided from the KSIS… and only Kitsune Shinrya had the kind of funding to produce so many cameras. However, Kaji’s instinct had him freezing the scrying at Izura Uchiha. “The Uchiha…” Kaji said, so sure in his gruff tone. “I added this suspect to the list personally.” Kaji then went on to display a memory of his through the scrying crystal, of the morning when he found the rogue shinobi wandering through the outer passageways. “I found this man haphazardly sticking his nose where it didn’t belong, and he was in our village without so much as a valid reason for venturing here. As an Uchiha, I expect he’ll have ties in the Hidden Leaf, so I’m forwarding details to my resources there, asking for them to help apprehend him or questioning. He is officially wanted in the Land of Lightning as of now.”

- Aside from the 3 player characters, feel free to come up with what you wish about the remaining ten names.
- Also feel free to launch your own investigations.

[col]Another man walked in, saluting to Kaji and offering him a nod. It wasn't but a moment after that he started performing his paper-pusher duties. Kyo looked over the man for a moment, measuring him up. The shinobi were strange creatures; even those that look frail and easily breakable could be potent fighters so one's appearance shouldn't be judged. Unlike in the wild where it was easy to distinguish prey and predator between one another; but in the shinobi world, that line is quickly blurred. Kyo responded to his nod with one of his own. Soon afterward, another man walked in. Oh, he was quite familiar with this one. This was the one that said his stealth skills needed work. So much so that Kyo ended up eating a stealthy person and stealing their skills. Well, the eating part is a different story that he wouldn't address here in this meeting. He responded to Miraku's acknowledgement with a nod.

Kaji began to speak stating there was a long list of potential criminals. It wasn't until the crystal appeared did his attention get piqued. Pictures of the potential criminals showed up, causing Kyo to take a step back as he was completely overwhelmed by what he had seen. He had never seen a hologram like this whether technological nor magical. He walked up to the first bust he saw, Shinrya Kitsune. He looked it over and reached out for it before his hand passed through the image. "What kind of sorcery is this?" Kyo asked. Dakota sat back yawning as Kyo's antics continued. He looked at Kitsune's figure and turned to look towards Kaji for a moment. "She looks like she'd make good children," he said before leaning up to the hologram and sniffing at it, not smelling a thing.

Enough of his antics. The moment Kaji mentioned that he added an Uchiha to his list personally, was the time that Kyo knew when to actually pay attention. He moved back with the rest of the group to listen to his lecture. It was at that moment that suspicions towards Izura was made. "If he had no reason to be in your village, then why didn't you guys either kill him or throw him out? No pack would allow an intruder into their domain without consequence," Kyo mentioned. The idea seemed to be sound logic in his own head, but people have something called morals (which Kyo was still trying to grasp). A moral dilemma or not, the question is 'what did Cloud do to expel this intruder'? After his little bit, he turned his eyes towards Kitsune and started to pant as he stared at her image. Something about her appearance was driving his instincts wild.|

Listening to Kaji as he explained the situation, telling them there was a list of suspects. Miraku watched as he revealed a display before the other ANBU, showing off images and names of the suspects; 13 in total, it would certainly be some work to check them all out. There were certainly a few names which were known in the village, as well as plenty that weren't so popular, especially the last one. It seemed that Kaji had some kind of grudge against this one. An Uchiha, probably originating from Leaf. It seemed their leader was on the same train of thought, suggesting he could have ties to Leaf and also planning to forward details to them. Their relations with Konoha would come in handy for situations such as this. A wanted man from a country you have a treaty with would be hard for them to hide.

"Well, he may have ties to Leaf, but it would seem weird for him to not have a reason for being here if he was a real member of Konoha with our close ties to them now." Miraku suggested, trying to tread carefully around the subject, wanting to believe Konoha wouldn't do something like that; at least knowingly. "But, since he's wanted, I'm sure we'll find out soon enough. Either way, we'll definitely check into these other individuals to make sure we've got the right person." he finished, moving in closer to get a better look at the list of people and their faces.

"Well, since there's 13, and one isn't from here, I can take three names to look into and see if I can clear them." he suggested to the group. He wanted to stay away from investigating the higher ranking shinobi and anyone he knew so as to not have any bias heading into this investigation. "I'll look into Okane Ei, Kiyabu Taroemon, and Ohara Shun’en if that's alright with you guys?" he finished, looking around the room. Kyo was obviously interested in the shinobi known as Kitsune, so he'd probably want to get the opportunity to look into her. It would probably be a good test for him, to see if he could work with such distractions.

Ren peered at the images displayed before them. Reaching over to the bundle of folders he'd dropped earlier, he quickly leafed through them. The ANBU Elite had recognized several of the names from his discussion with KSIS just hours earlier. It would be best to confirm the compiled information before blurting something out however. This did cause him to miss Kyo's wonderment regarding the conjured images and even Miraku's remark on the Uchiha. Neither Kitsune nor Izura interested him much however. The first he'd heard about from Natsu and though their relationship had been tenuous at best, Ren had sensed the reluctant respect his tutor had held for the Medical Chief. Furthermore, she had powerful and political friends - even abroad. Getting tangled in that mess was something Ren would prefer to leave to the Main Branch's diplomatic squad. As for the Leaf-Nin, he was outside of current reach, so spending effort on the man would be a waste of time and resources.

"Kiyabu Taroemon was a name brought up by KSIS as well. A well off merchant often found peddling goods between Marsh and Lightning. I'll leave him and the other two to you, however." Ren offered Miraku, sliding over a small folder with information regarding the man and his business. "As for the others, Jo Yoshiyuki; Yamasato Masashige; Kotake Nampo and Kojima Okichi also came up in the briefing with KSIS." He stated, pushing the four related folders forwards onto the table. "Yoshiyuki is an inventor from Raiden no Me. However, he has a reputation for selling his discoveries to whomever is the highest bidder. This includes foreign nations. The wealth he's gathered makes it difficult to apprehend him. Various donations as well as his talent have endeared him among the elite of our Capital's scholars. Certainly a contender I'd say." Smart, wealthy and well-protected, he'd be a difficult target to follow up on however.

"Masashige is a retired Lightning ambassador who was stationed in Bear Country for about twenty years. He still travels much between the two countries, with only minimal auditing due to his past. If Bear would be involved in this scandal he's certainly the right man to sneak it in. Assuming he has indeed offered his loyalty to Bear rather than Lightning Country that is. Nampo is a similar case, although he is an ambassador still in active duty. Also, rather than deal with foreign dignitaries, his focus was on the Bakufuu-Cloud relations. We should have many Shinobi at our disposal who had dealt with him at some ponit in their career. From the Raikage to any in the diplomatic corpse. It'll be a simple matter to approach him. Getting the necessary information or confession will be the hard part. And the consequences if he is indeed performing such deeds for the Shogun and his court.. I wouldn't want to touch that political mess witha ten foot pole." Ren stated, taking a short pause as he reached for a glass of water and took a quick sip.

"Kojima Okichi then. Bit of an odd duck in the list that one. He's a local businessman here in Kumo who owns a chain of clothing stores. 'Abercloudie & Stitch' or something like that?" The ANBU shrugged. He did not shop there in any case. "If he is the perpetrator I don't think we should be worried much about militaristic or political headaches but rather business espionage.. Or a pervert who's been spying on his clients. I don't think the location of the cameras matches up to that scenario though?" Ren asked no one in particular. "Have we received more information from R&D on whether or not all cameras found share the same design? If not, we should consider the possibility of multiple offenders with a different goal, perhaps?" He inquired. It'd complicate the investigation a bit too, wouldn't it? The sour thought brought a frown to Ren's face. Troublesome indeed.

And so, it appeared as if things were falling into place as the shinobi speculated options on the matter at hand. Kaji was content with the acuity of his peers, who were quickly analyzing the list of suspects, and taking initiative towards planning surveillance. Miraku took a few names off the list like cutting a section of a pie, seeming eager to hunt his share of game. Ren, on the other hand, seemed well-versed in connecting the dots to the Cloud’s more infamous ne'er do wells and aristocrats alike. Kyo, bless his heart, was busy being captivated by the hourglass shape of dutchess Shinrya, who was well known for her ageless beauty. Beside her detailed image was basic details like you’d find on any record including her age. As Kyo fawned over her, Kaji leaned next to him and said “quite a fox, aye? ‘She’s really holding it together for being in her seventies— some say its a hoax or some experiments she does to look young.” He looked at the lad with a wry grin, sure the detail probably wouldn’t reduce his interests in the slightest. “I can assign you to go interview her about the case if you’d like a chance to meet her, but I recommend you see Logistic Ops first… get a clean shave and some fresh clothing should do. ‘The snooty types tend to judge appearance harshly, ya know.” There might have been a real risk involved in Kaji’s idea, however, he wasn’t nearly as concerned as he should have been. Even if his lust for Kitsune was a fleeting sensation, it might serve him well consider that visit to the Logistics unit.

The Vice-Commander locked back onto their mission, mulling over options and seeing that every name on the list had someone on their tails. “Miraku, I trust you’ll dig up whatever is out there on those three in no time,” Kaji said confidently, believing in Miraku’s skill ever since their first time working together in the Dreadnought Squad. “As for you Ren, good work and welcome aboard the assignment. I’ll leave sending the requests for looks into those Bear and Marsh perps in your capable hands. If our operatives in those regions come up with any significant leads we’ll react accordingly.” And that left a few loose ends and that pesky Uchiha that Kaji held a gut feeling about. “Letting that Uchiha rat slip away might have been foolish, or serve a greater purpose in the long run… We had shinobi follow him out of the territory, and report he made his way southward before they lost him to winter. I have resources in Konoha and some favors owed— if the rat is nesting there, I’ll have him caged before you know it.” Set on this strategy, Kaji scrolled through the profiles in the hologram until it was fixed on the Uchiha again, and the light reflected in his eyes as he bore into the image. “That is all— let’s get to work,” he said with a hint of finality in his tone. He then set off to see through his plan and send the missive to the Hidden Leaf.

[col]So many names spouted out by Miraku and Ren that Kyo lost quite a bit of interest, moving his attention back towards the holographic bust of Kitsune. He walked up to the bust and attempted to poke at it, only for his finger to go through the holographic image. Stunned, Kyo looked around and went from holographic projection to holographic projection. In conclusion, Kyo just realized that what he was seeing wasn't physically real. It boggled his simple mind! Being able to see something but not actually tough it tormented his brain and his ability to process information. "Seriously, what kind of witchcraft is this?" Kyo asked, obviously paying no attention to the political intrigue from Ren and Miraku. None of that had any business with Kyo. Too much information and not enough 'let's go' to him. Kyo is a simple man and a simple 'Do this' is really all he needed.

Even if Kyo paid attention to the conversation, he wouldn't be able to remember the names. Writing the names on paper, for him, wouldn't work due to being illiterate so keeping the mission simple and to the point was more Kyo's style. There was information next to her bust, which Kyo dismissed due to not being able to read and just walked around the thing. "Her butt is better than her boobs!" Kyo shouted out, paying no attention to what's going on. Dakota just sat near the back and let out a yawn. It wasn't until Kaji made a comment about Kitsune did Kyo respond. "Fox? Where?" he said, looking around. He didn't understand human phrases like that (especially involving animals) and took it quite literally. Dakota let out another yawn with Kyo catching sight of it. If Dakota isn't on-alert, Kyo shouldn't be either. Calming down, Kyo listened to what Kaji had said.

Kyo raised a brow at the idea that she was in her seventies. His jaw dropped as he looked over her once more. He was given the suggestion to see the 'Logistics Ops' first; whatever that was. She liked cleanly shaved and well-dressed men. If that's what he had to do, then that's what he'd have to do. Kyo turned his attention towards Kaji with a nod. "Fine. I'll do it. But the question is, is she ready to mate?"

Simple-minded animal.
It was time to put Miraku's training about how to act around people to practice. As much as he disliked the instruction given by Miraku, these were important lessons. It was almost, as if, he was being groomed for this very mission. He turned to look towards Miraku, gave him a wink and a thumbs up. This was his way of saying 'thanks'. Not a moment later did Kaji wrap up what he was saying did he leave. After Kaji left, Kyo walked over to Miraku and placed his hands upon his shoulders and shook him slightly.

"Tell me, Miraku-sensei! What's this grandma's name?|

Miraku listened as the one called Kyogi began to rattle off information on the subjects he knew about, some of which would come in handy for his recon later on. The rest wouldn't matter to him as they weren't the subjects he had decided to take on, but they would be useful to the others for their searches, so he just stood there listening patiently. The man seemed quite knowledgeable and certainly quite informed. It was obvious he and whoever he had worked with had done their due diligence. Miraku definitely respected those who were able to come by proper knowledge and think things through properly, so for that, Kyogi had gained some. It was always nice to meet someone new who could be respected.

Once he finished, the conversation seemed to turn over to one of Kyo's preferences. Kaji seemed to be teasing him about it a bit, while the young wild shinobi couldn't seem to keep his eyes off of her. He had heard about Kitsune around the village before, she had been around for so long, but he wasn't privy to such details as her age, so he was quite surprised by her being in her seventies. Kyo still didn't understand the more nuanced parts of their language, not understanding some of what Kaji had said to him. Kaji was probably right about him needing to clean up to visit someone of such high prestige, but Kyo's mind couldn't seem to stay away from his animalistic instinct, almost causing Miraku to chuckle.

Kaji seemed to be ready to wrap things up, addressing him, trusting in his ability to get the job done. He continued by addressing the rest of the group, explaining what they would be doing next. There was work to be done, but it was sure to be completed properly when shinobi like this group were on the case. It seemed that was it, and so Kaji would be on his way, heading out to work on his part of their next moves, leaving the rest to finish up and head out on their own. Kyo seemed like he was ready to do his part, hopefully putting what they had worked on into practice, which he had seemed to realize earlier when he had decided to go for this job. As he approached Miraku, he seemed excited, quickly asking him for information. "That would be Shinrya Kitsune. She's the head of the Shinrya clan, one of the most prominent clans in Kumogakure. So you'll definitely want to be careful with this one." he suggested, hoping such information would cause Kyo to do his best. "You could probably get more information about her around here somewhere. But for now, I'm going to head out and hopefully find some more information about my other targets before I start my recon on them. Good luck." He finished, before turning towards Kyogi. "It was a pleasure to meet you Kyogi. Your information will be very useful. Hopefully I'll see you around again." he said, raising his hand as a sort of wave goodbye before heading out the door to head home for now.

"As you command sir." Kyogi responded, nodding at his superior. Setting up some teams to investigate his targets shouldn't be too difficult. The two politicians would require someone with a political know-how. If his mentorship with Do Natsu had taught him anything it would be that diplomats were very good at keeping their mouth shut about the things you wanted to know most. Fortunately, that same mentor would also make it far easier to pick the right Shinobi for the job. Kojima Okichi would be no real hurdle either. Perhaps he could look into some of the Genin looking to join ANBU or an AiT who had recently done just that to pick up the assignment. As an ANBU Elite aiming to rise up the ranks to Captain, Ren was expected to go beyond his current responsibilities and show he could handle the work load of a Captain. Evaluating new joiners fell within their job description, so this could serve as the perfect window of opportunity. Finally, Kiyabu Taroemon would probably the most difficult to approach. Perhaps he'd personally attend to that matter.

"Likewise M- Soku, wasn't it?" Ren responded to Miraku's praise. He'd picked up the man's first name from Kaji's instructions earlier. After the debacle at the Kumo gates some weeks earlier, the ANBU Elite had made it a point to study up on his fellow ANBU and their callsigns. He'd prefer not to have a repeat display of infighting - foreign public present or not. "I'm sure you will. Work never stops after all." The wave was responded to in kind and Ren focussed back onto his paperwork. Bundling up the copies he'd passed around earlier and picking them up, he turned on heels - noticing Kyo still watching the bust of Shinrya Kitsune. "You know - you probably shouldn't call her a grandmother to her face. Nobility and all that - it'd be troublesome if you got arrested on her grounds. Lightning Country law is a bit icky on jurdistiction in those kind of situations." And with a final nod, Ren would depart from the meeting room as well. He'd drop off the folders at the Dai Gensui for further processing and then head towards his room within the Sileo to have a shower and perhaps another nap.

[col]Kyo really needs to learn how to read. If he knew how to read, he wouldn't have so many problems trying to discern the identity of this 'sexy grandma' that he was presented with. The woman was head of the Shinrya Clan, which meant absolutely nothing to Kyo, but that information was something he'd keep in his back-pocket if need-be. He would have to do a bit more investigating on the going-ins and going-outs of the Shinrya Clan before proceeding. If this woman was truly the matriarch of this clan, that must mean she must have some kind of power and influence within the village. This put Kaji's words of 'cleaning up' into perspective. One couldn't approach some nobility looking (or smelling) like he stayed in a dumpster for an extended period of time. He cleared his throat and nodded to the words spoken by Miraku-sensei.

"That's good information. I'll take that information and use it," Kyo said awkwardly to the man he considers to be his teacher and saw him off. It was then that the pencil-pusher as he addressed him.

Don't call her grandma to her face -- check
She is nobility -- check
Laws in this country are stupid -- check
Kyo nodded at the pencil-pusher with the advice given to him. With that, he departed before Kyo turned his eyes towards the holographic bust of the woman and stared on with heart-shaped eyes. "Ah man. With a body like that!" he said before recomposing himself and cleared his throat. "What would a beauty like her be doing putting cameras up all over the village. Think, Kyo, think. The only reason she would do that is for some kind of a mutiny against the government. Taking her position as matriarch of the Shinrya Clan, the only thing remaining would be if she became the matriarch of this village. But that's highly unlikely. But it's still worth a look," he said before he gave heart-shaped eyes towards the holographic bust.

He shook his head and walked out, patting his side to signal to Dakota to follow-up. "We got some information gathering to do, Dakota. Before we dive into this," Kyo said before leaving the Sileo.|
