Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Kazuki and Minoru had just finished killing the guards that blocked the entrance to the Coven. Now that the guards were taken care of, the true mission would begin. Their main purpose was to exterminate every living thing in this cesspool of evil beings, and it seemed they had a ways to go. Once the pair had entered the dark entrance, all that awaited was darkness and complete silence. The sound, or lack thereof, was eerie, teasing of an ambush. The light was hard on the eyes, causing Minoru to activate his in order to see beyond such limits. Chakra signatures would become visible, and he could see much more easily now that the extinction duo had entered where the enemy lie. Despite the dark conditions, that Coven featured great craftsmanship of a straight hallway, littered with torches that barely lit the way. Now that the pair was fully committed, Kazuki gave orders for what the protcol was in the conditions they faced.

"From now on, we operate with the utmost care and we are vigilant to everything. We are entering the enemy's territory and we are greatly outnumbered. If you wish to come out alive, you will give everything you have. Everyone we will meet, will be an enemy that will have no hesitation to end us. We will show them no mercy and none shall stay alive in our wake. Our mission is simple, everything that moves, dies."

Minoru knew Kazuki might have a tough time seeing in the dark without his own eyes activated, so he voiced his recognition of what was needed to survive.

"Roger."

Kazuki's words reverberated through his mind, constantly focusing on the part where he would have to give everything. He still had a few techniques at his disposal, but none were more powerful than what he had previously used. However, he was ready to give "everything", his determination to accomplish his goals was unmatched, at least to his knowledge. He gritted his teeth, and continued to traverse the long hallway. As luck would have it, no enemies occupied the space, but as the pair continued to move, a sharp turn led them to a wooden door. Using his eyes, Minoru could see the enemies that placed themselves in the next room, and he was sure Kazuki could as well due to possessing his own special set of vision. Minoru gathered his thoughts, planned for a method of attack, and was ready to begin. None would survive, all would die, most times even brutally. Keeping his eyes active, he motioned and whispered to his Overlord to begin.

"After you?"

The extermination was on, and the thought of slaughtering his enemies have Minoru a wicked satisfaction that gave birth to a sly smile. Death was imminent, but it seemed it would be brought on by two shinobi who entered the Den.

Kazuki did nothing short of impressive in his room clearing techniques. He summoned another being, which destroyed the evil beasts with extreme destruction and pain. This was the second time the Overlord had summoned a monster to do his bidding with Minoru watching. A tinge of jealousy clouded his mind, as he wished he could do such things with impressive Ninjutsu ability. Perhaps one day he too could summon...Nonetheless, the duo had finished one room, and the next room would be for Minoru to clear. The young Senju headed toward the archway as the Overlord covered a part of his hand in chakra and wrote on himself. The young Senju had only heard rumors of such ability, as a permanent mark made its way onto his superior's skin. A new shape in the form of a tree accompanied a moon and a demon. The AiT took point and a second to prepare his battle strategy. With his supremacy in Taijutsu, he activated his eyes, seeing the monsters that lie before him. Only three occupied the room this time, which was odd.

The disturbances that were created in the last room should have been cause for more to rush forward and investigate the screams and earth shaking battle. Minoru blew it off and ran into the room where his three enemies awaited. The room was dark, but Minoru's eyes allowed him to see them perfectly. They all at once rushed toward him, bearing white serrated teeth and sharpened claws. They were fast, incredible fast. The young Senju dodged the first one's strike, and moved to the outside of his body, where another mistakingly lunged toward and ended up striking the monster that had had its strike dodged. A scratch was placed on the beast's backside, causing him to shrill. With a wicked smile, it was time for Minoru to destroy them all.

He placed his feet slightly apart, and placed his hands in front of his torso not in the form of fists, but with fingers extended, like a mantis. He wasted no time, striking the already injured of the three. Due to his vision, he could see the chakra pathway, and unfortunately for his victim, he struck right at the heart. With a exhale of power, the young Senju plunged his fist in to the beasts chest, sending his arm straight through, leaving an arm sized hole where his heart used to be. The monster immediately erupted into flames, leaving only two left.

The remaining targets only seemed to become filled with rage, and rushed toward the Taijutsu specialist. Both struck at the same time, coordinating their blows with lightning fast attacks. However, Minoru knew better. They were not as skilled as he, unlike the first opponent on this mission. He blocked each of their attacks, upward, downward, and to the side. Frustration welled within the attacking pair, allowing them to be open for counterattack at their lack of thought. Minrou saw his chance when of the pair cocked a punch back as far as his arm would allow. In an instant, the young Senju charged chakra into his fingers, and sent his hand through the middle of the beast's neck. He choked, and when the AiT returned his arm to himself, blood poured all over the place. In seconds, the opponent fell to the ground, but did not erupt into flames. He merely died.

And so, there was only one. Surprisingly, instead of attacking, the last target stood there stunned. Minoru knew it was time to finish the job. Sliding his foot back into place, Minrou closed the distance with a lightning fast rush move, before using a secret technique he learned not long ago before the mission. The young Senju barraged his opponent with 256 strikes, each landing on the opponent's chakra pathways, causing massive internal damage. When the attack was done, the opponent stood there with wide eyes. Blood crept from ever crevice, his mouth, eyes, ears, nose, and even poured through his clothing. He fell to his knees, the blood seeming to exit his body all at once, and fell to the ground, leaving nothing but a dead body drowned in fresh blood.

Minoru looked at Kazuki, before nodding.

"Shall we continue?"

Room by room, the duo cleared out whatever evil inhabitants had placed themselves there. The pair was never held up, nor was any enemy too great for them to handle. It was Kazuki's turn to clear the last room, and with a twist there was only a large enemy flanked by smaller ones. Perhaps his size could have counted for three, but nonetheless, the Overlord resorted to using his summons. It seemed he had one for every situation, no matter the enemy. Instead, he withdrew Vapor, and instead called forth the work of a gigantic green beast. He was the same size at the monster who occupied a smoke filled room, and the two fought like Titans. They cashed and matched each other blow by blow, and their strength was impressive. Minoru thought he was strong, however, he was clearly not as strong as the two who fought before him. As the fight wore on, the Overlord's summon grew angrier, and resorted to a mighty blow using both hands. He jumped into the air, and then smashed his opponent to pieces. Next came the grand finale, a single clap that disintegrated the remaining enemies. Job well done.

Minoru followed his fearless leader forward to the next room, and common courtesy would call for him to deal with the occupants. The Senju decided he was beginning to like the mission. Although he had a genuine good heart, killing always made him feel superior, as if his ego was growing. He felt strong, satisfied, with his handiwork in vanquishing his foes. He held no mercy, nor should he. And so, he used his eyes once more to scour the room they had just entered to determine the enemies that lie in wait. There were dozens. Dozens of short ones. They were not the size of the ones Kazuki encountered in the first room, as if they had not matured or were too young. Other people might have been hesitant to kill an enemy that resembled the size of a ten year old, but the AiT knew better. He was Senju, there was no room for weakness.

He ran straight in towards the herd of them, with a full plan in mind. For a split second, he was worried Kazuki would think he was reckless, but it would not matter. In a matter of minutes, it would all make sense. As Minoru ran forward, his enemies leaped at him. Two dove for him at his flanks, but he jumped in the air, and did a split that sent both of the leaping evil beings back from where they came. After that blow had been struck, five were already on him. He dodged one to his rear, and grabbed another, throwing it into a crowd of them. Despite his fast speed, they piled on top of him. All of his enemies piled onto one another, swallowing the AiT into the bottom of a pit of evil children.

Too bad for them, it was part of the plan. No one could see him smirk, but he did. Tucking his arms under his chest, he did a string of seals, and lightning surged into his hands, before flowing into his arms and his body. A split second went by were nothing happened. In a flash of light, lightning poured through all over his body, shooting tendrils out from him. It pierced through the enemies that held him down, vaporizing them. The attack only lasted a mere second, but it left nothing but ash covering Minoru. He rose up, like a pheonix from ashes, and took a breath.

"No time to waste!"

He moved toward the next room, letting Kazuki pull up to his side.

"Did ya doubt me?" The Senju apprentice asked his mentor with a sly smile.

Fortune Favors the Bold.

Peculiarity reached into the back of Minoru's mind and clawed, eager to bring the two statues to attention that flanked either side of the grand waterfall. The torrent of rushing water brought both chaos and order to the nearby regions. The young Senju had finally found a place worthy of his time and effort, a few feet from the waterfall on some small grasses. Mist surrounded him with cold kisses, and the force of the downward fall of water gave rise to a slight breeze that caused a conformation in the shape of his white lab coat. His undershirt and jeans were slightly damp from sweat that the hour long journey had brought, and yet, he was eager to make the most unknown known.

Initiation.

He breathed a sigh and threw off his messenger bag, and approached the water's edge. Despite the violence that preceded from falling liquid, the flow of the river was calm and gentle. His face shone brightly in the reflection of the deep blue, and the green-eyed shinobi washed his face to rid himself of the filth his sweat had brought. The statues that faced each other on either side of the waterfall were found most interesting to a young man like he, however, like all young men, he had places to go and things to do. That single notion brought the end of his thoughts on the large humanoid figures that watched him work.

Creation.

His true purpose for picking this spot was to test his latest creation, Minorium. By applying a large amount of chakra to select amount of Osmium, the element's properties would change, and react with its substrate. The newly formed substance would create a material stronger than any known at this point, and it was in this location that its effect was to be tested on living organisms.

Reaction.

With clean water dripping from his dirty blonde hair and brows, Minoru moved himself back to the grassy area that lined the shore of the river. With a swipe of his hands, he reached from his bag a small, black cube. With no time to waste the Senju channeled his own chakra into the cube for a considerable duration. An entire twenty percent of his reserved energy was used for this procedure, and when it was finished, the AiT smashed the cube amongst the grasses. Reaching quickly for a notepad and a pen, Minoru found himself ready to record any observations that took place in the biochemical reaction that was just created. Seconds after the initial impact, black liquid crawled onto patches of grass, swallowing them up inside a black cocoon. It was not long after that the black liquid solidified, bringing about a most alluring transformation to the former grasses. Their size and shape had not changed, but rather, their aesthetics and their defense.

Observation.

The grasses had fused into a single large brown spike, unable to be broken by the pressure from Minoru's hand.

"Hmmmm...." muttered the young man, as he furiously scribbled notes on to his notepad that would not be legible for anyone else to read. The AiT already had terrible handwriting when calm, but in a race of this nature to absorb as much information as possible, it brought about a whole new level of disaster on paper.

The previous impact of a flying vessel into a lighthouse had roused many dust particles, clouding for space and depth. However, like all things, this changed over time. As the dust settled, all that was left was a blob of chakra, immense and evil, standing stout. An instant after it became visible, a tentacle reached into the water for unknown reasons, transforming the mass into a chimera-type form. It was a terrifying sight, but fear had no place in an ANBU's mind. The survivors of the impact, despite their few numbers, chaotically ran around as if there were hundreds of them. Unfortunately for them, it was unlikely that they knew of any means for defense against such a creature. One man seemed to remain calm besides the two original shinobi. A man covered in blood-stained shredded clothing wielding nothing but a single sword. He stood below the transformed creature, eager to try his luck in battle.

For Minoru, it meant that the tattered man would have two allies at his disposal. It seemed Kazuki had the same thought, as he summoned two beings. One was the former, Straga, and another that was humanoid in every aspect. Cannonballs littered the sky once more, as the onslaught on the beach continued. Luckily for the survivors, Straga was sent to deal with the ships, which would be an easy task for a being from another world of that size. However, the humanoid was to assist the three man cell. Kazuki seemed able and ready to battle, as this is what it would take to rid themselves of the evil that had been brought into the world against all prevention. Minoru himself needed to prepare for a battle that would surely be epic in proportion and scale.

Sand clung to his skin, causing slight itch if he had not focused his attention on the recent destruction. The young Senju's clothes were dirty, forming irony in what started as professional dress turned into professional clothes that looked as if they had been neglected for years. Minoru was a Taijustu specialist, he knew very little ninjutsu that could summon allies to his side, but he did pack a powerful punch. He took his dress shirt, and split it down the middle. He wrapped each half around his hands respectively, to cushion the oncoming blows he would have to dish in order to stop the monstrosity.

He took his place at the side of Kazuki, who had already dealt the first blow. Constructing a wall made of hard minerals would provide both cover, as well as a makeshift firing position. The center of the wall was hollow, leaving only a silver disk in its place. The silver disk was shot from its resting place into the beast to damage its existence. The summoned humanoid, Shuichi, was also close to Kazuki, given the order for backup.

Minoru would wait for the actions of the lone swordsman, and the damage that had been done before acting on his own to damage the created evil.

Perhaps with his lightning abilities, he could create a large enough zig-zag of energy to severely harm the enemy. However, that would have to wait to see what damage a tiny metallic disk would do first.

"I'm ready," he spoke to Kazuki, letting him know he would attack swiftly and soon.

Minoru had returned from his field testing, and the results were exciting to him. The methods for the field test were direct exposure of Minorium onto plants and the surrounding dirt. The result was that the newly made element protected and augmented the plants, in this case, grass. The green strands had become one dark brown strand, that was barely breakable even by the Senju's standards. If this held true for animals, and humans, he could have just invented the strongest armor in the entire world. There were still a few questions left to be answered, but in time, and with the right testing and resources, those questions would be long gone and common knowledge.

The first question was one of the more important ones: Does Minorium have the same effect on animals? In order to see what happens, Minoru would have to expose field mice to the new element, in order to see the results. With this idea in mind, he went straight to work. Due to the never ending supply the newly created research compound held, field mice were easily found. The Senju researcher gathered ten to be exposed to his latest creation, and immediately began infusing each sample with twenty percent of his chakra. Obviously, this process took many days, otherwise he would have exhausted all of his chakra, and that would be unsatisfactory in a shinobi that was to be combat ready.

Once all the samples were infused, and thus converted into the black liquid, Minorium, it was time to test the results. Each mouse was given its own holding tank, complete with food as well as water and proper air. Black liquid was applied to all of the mice as close together as possible. It was deemed impossible to apply it at the same exact time, as Minoru was the only one applying the sample. he was careful not to touch the infused substance, lest something go wrong when it reacts to animal systems. Instantly, each mouse struggled to fight the liquid that crawled onto it, swallowing it into the black mass.

Seconds went by, and the mice did not move, as if dead. The AiT was going to deem the experiment a failure, until a minute later, the liquid hardened on each mouse. The liquid changed color, some mice had becomes solid black, others red, and one was even yellow.

It was an odd sight to see, as all the mice were pretty much the same. If they indeed, were the same, then what caused the range of colors? Furthermore, each mouse had looked different. One mouse had become all black, with spikes protruding from its back and sides, with red glowing eyes. One mouse even had three pronged spikes on its tail! With each mouse, there was a different manifestation of defense and attack, and even color. More questions popped into the researcher's head, but overall, it was a success. Vitals were taken of each mouse, and all were stable, if not improved by a margin.

So far, at least with mice, the element reacted in a positive manner. However, if this were true for humans, could there be a way to reverse the process? Surely not everyone wanted to be a walking tank or menacing looking villain for the rest of their lives.

And so, Minoru set his eyes on the next experiment: to determine if there was a way to turn off or reverse the process.

There was only one room left to clear. Dozens of vampires had been killed, maimed, burned, and smashed. The body count was high, and so far, the three shinobi seemed unhurt aside from minor scrapes and bruises. Minoru was eased by the fact that another had joined their ranks, the mysterious Tadao. He had never personally met the man, but his stature and motion demanded respect and discipline. One Minoru had finished clearing the room, it was time for them to move on.

"Good to know. Let us proceed then. I sense that the master of this coven is nearby. He is our target, if we eliminate the head, the body crumbles. Time to rid this world of an evil being."

The young Senju gave his Overlord a nod and followed closely, the end was near. There was no door to traverse to reach the next room, but rather, a small tunnel. No light allowed for the three to move through this tunnel with ease of vision, but they did so anyway. The tunnel ended with a stone arch, old and cracked, but remaining strong. The room that followed was lit with dozens of torches, and at the end sat a man upon a throne. His skin was very pale, comparable to Kazuki's, and the throne in which he sat was carved with much dedication. However, the man himself seemed old and brittle, with pure white hair. If he was not classified as "old," no one was at this point.

"Please come inside. I wish only to talk." The man's voice was weak, mirroring his appearance, but was still able to communicate effectively. His words fell on deaf ears, and a thought crept up to Minoru.

Yeah...bullshit, the AiT thought.

Kazuki declared their course of action with headbutting words, "I can hear just fine from here, thank you."

Minoru smiled at the wit his Overlord had expressed.

"You trespassed into my home, slaughtered my people. I would not be denied." The old man's voice grew with anger and power, a clear sign of frustration. Peace that had previously been in the room had vanished as the man flicked his wrist, causing all three shinobi to be pulled toward him. There was no fighting against the force, but they were only pulled closer. There was no attack, yet.

"Now as I was trying to say. Why did you invade my home? What possibly did we do to you to deserve such aggression? We never kill more than our share, only enough to survive. But yet, you humans continually hunt us, trying to bring us to the brink of annihilation. Unfortunately for you, you'll pay the price for all humankind past transgressions against my kind. And I'll start with you, pale human."

The old man pointed toward the Overlord, and rose from his resting place. With one motion, his cloak was discarded, revealing a pale body. Despite his old appearance, the man before them was in incredible shape. Chakra seemed to emit from the man's skin, symbolizing his power. He quickly moved toward Kazuki, who did not move. Minoru tried to struggle, but was also unable to do so. The enemy before them picked up the Overlord by his neck, and a strange mark had appeared on his chest. It seemed to be painful, judging from his expression. After the mark appeared, he was thrown into a wall. However, before hitting the ground, a barrier of dark, purple energy surrounded him. He was stuck in the air, and it seemed Tadao and Minoru had to free him.

"Now. Who wants to try and save him? Beware, if I die, he dies with me. You are all going to die here. You'll never see daylight again. And you'll reborn as my husks. Mindless servants that I can torment for all eternity."

What did he mean by that? Minoru activated his eyes, trying to see if there was a chakra link between Kazuki and the old enemy. If there was, he would attack using his mastery over chakra control. By forcing chakra to his finger tips, he could sever chakra links, and in a person, destroy their organs as well. The first step was checking for a link. At this time, the man's chakra would be visible, showing a vast quantity.

Minoru turned toward Tadao, suggesting a course of action.

"I'm a Taijutsu user, and I am not sure what type of fighter you are. See if you can free Kazuki, I'll try my best to keep this guy occupied. We need the three of us to beat him."

With that being said, if there was a link between the two that Minoru could see, he would first attack the link. If no link existed, he would head straight for the old man.

Minoru leapt toward the man, and landed right in front of him. He entered his special stance, to be used with his bloodline abilities. he only meant to occupy his enemy, and would refrain from causing damage that might harm Kazuki. Minoru would attempt to doge his strikes, and land a few blows to irritate his enemy.

[Byakugan Activated. If link is seen, Minoru will attack it ON THE WAY TO ATTACK THE KING. If no link, Minoru will just head straight for the Vampire King. Entering Jyuuken Stance with Basic Strikes]

Despite a large amount of knowledge gathered on Minorium thus far, much still had to be known. Was there a way to reverse the process in which the element would coat its object, turning it into a more protected and stronger version of its former self? The creator of this element had to know. And thus, to see how it worked to reverse the process, he needed a human trial. There was no way Minoru could seek out another person, it would violate the experiment's confidentiality. He was certain the element was safe with lifeforms, hence the positive test on mice. He could not seek out Kazuki, he would never agree to such a thing. Anyone with half a brain would have denied being his guinea pig, with so many loop holes and unanswered questions. And so, he decided to perform the king of No-No's, to test it on himself.

His scientific mind was fighting him, telling him every second that it was completely wrong to test something like this on his self. There was no way it was guaranteed to work, let alone keep him alive. Yet, something churned inside his gut, something edging him on, giving him hope that it just might work. His mind and gut were fighting for space to sway his decision, but in a world where people could summon beasts from another realm, house gods within themselves, and shoot lightning from their hands, there was little that was not possible. Minoru decided: he himself would be the first human trial. It was the only way to guarantee everyone's safety.

The Senju grabbed another sample of Osmium, and spent a short amount of time infusing the element with his own chakra, an astonishing twenty percent! The metal, kept within a black box that somehow did not react with the changed substance, had turned to black liquid. Minoru locked himself inside an experimental chamber. He removed almost all of his clothing, and hesitated.

He held the black box in his left hand, waving to his chest, anticipating the blow. He took a few deep breaths, knowing full well he could die from this. With one last deep breath, he closed his eyes, and smashed the box against his chest. The researcher felt the box shatter on his skin, and felt cool liquid. The coolness spread around his body at an alarming rate. He began to panic, trying to scrape it off with his hands.

It was no use. The liquid covered him head to toe, and was covering his mouth and nose. He was not able to breath, yet still kept his closed. Minoru desperately tried to shake the invader off of his body, but just as it covered him, it entered his body through his skin, nose, ears, and forced itself into his mouth and eyes. All he could see was black...

Pain filled his body, and immediately and he felt like he took an ice bath. The Senju fell to the floor, writhing around like a mortally wounded snake, before losing consciousness.

He dreamed. Visions entered his mind. Visions of microscopic black cells clinging to the walls underneath his dermis. The invading cells did not attack, nor did his bodily cells. He vision changed to an ruptured cell of his own body. The red blood cell had begun to excrete all of its internal structures, before one of the black cells let loose tiny black tendrils that injected into his body cell. Instantly, the rupture was repaired, and cell moved on.

The black cells that were inside of him fused to each other as they clung around the inside of his skin. A primitive consciousness was felt. It did not speak, but Minoru could feel its desire, its needs.

It needed a host. The relationship was almost purely symbiotic. It needed just what every other cell needed: proper conditions and nutrients. However, it required trace amounts of chakra. It was a hive minded parasitic substance, yet somehow inorganic. It needed what all organic substance needed, but it WASN'T organic.

Minoru sensed no desire to kill its host, or even to cause it discomfort. It needed to survive, like all living things. And for the price of residence, it would gift its user with all the ability it had.

And that's when he awoke...

Minoru felt confined, like he was stuck inside a full body suit. He could breathe perfectly, almost too perfectly. The temperature felt perfect, yet the inside of whatever was covering him was smooth and comfortable. He was agile, he could tell just by getting up. He looked down at his hands and feet, and they were covered in some sort of...armor.

He looked up, and saw his reflection in the mirror.

He touched his face, covered in the mask, and ran his hand through the cloak that hung from his shoulders. He loved his appearance, but he worried he would be stuck like this forever. As soon as that thought reached his mind, his armor receded slowly into his skin.

It was as if the armor melting back into him, leaving him as he were...almost naked, but completely intact. And so, that was the answer. To reverse the process, all that was needed was to will it so. This would change everything.

Minoru's mind drifted to thought about what he would do next, or COULD do next. Ideas sprung into his mind, one after the other, and his secret? Imagination. If it could be thought up, then it could be done. That was at least, his philosophy with science and research. All things in the way of innovation and discovery were once what-ifs, fairy tales, and folklore. They were that to Minoru, but not just that, but something achievable. The Senju researcher's thought was interrupted by a loud knock.

Kazuki.

The AiT looked toward the entrance of his office, noticing he was in fact, correct. His Overlord had entered without reply, not that he needed one. Kazuki managed to seat himself in front where his subordinate had taken place, and asked him a question that would lead on to business.

"So, let's discuss the news, shall we?"

Minoru gave a sly smile before looking down at the manila folder he had prepared. Giving it a once over, he handed it to Kazuki for him to take and look over.

"All what I am about to tell you, is in that file. As promised, it is just between us. I have discovered something remarkable. Let me give you the gist.."

He leaned back in his chair, arms held up to his eyes and held together, as he began his explanation of what he had just exactly uncovered.

"I reacted a group of elements with chakra, of which, only one actually reacted in a way that could be manipulated. To be specific, Osmium. When reacted with chakra, approximately twenty percent of my max reserves, it changes form into a smooth black liquid. As you can see, that is quit a large amount of chakra. BUT, here is the kicker. When applied to a substrate of some kind, it augments it! I applied to grass, and it protected the grass. I applied it to mice, it strengthened all aspects of the mice. Offense, Defense, Vitals, all of it."

Minoru rose from his chair, and looked at a lonely picture on the wall. It was one of his parents when he was young, a single digit age.

"And when I applied it to myself, it did the same to me as the mice."

The Senju turned around to face Kazuki, and spread his arms out to his sides. Black liquid poured through his clothing and from his skin until he was covered in a black shell. Once his body was covered, it shifted into shapes and solidified into an armored product.

His voice was still deep and strong as before, but it resonated through the helmet that had once been his face.

"This is the strongest material I have ever known. The transformed element itself, is inorganic, but behaves organically. It lives only to survive. With this, my vitals are stronger, my physicality is stronger, I am more agile, quicker, you name it, I am. Overlord, this could change everything. It would make our ANBU units the best and brightest in the world. It's only a prototype, as it is still growing and mutating. But...this is just the beginning of what I have in store..."

Minoru clenched his fists, and his armor receded back into liquid, and finally back into his pores and the orifices in which it came. He waited for any word from his Overlord, hopefully in proud or happy tones.

Kazuki seemed interested in the event that had just transpired. His gaze was unyielding, and his voice let loose a series of questions that some Minoru could answer on his own.

"The applications seem numerous, the implications are just as big. You have mentioned that it reacts to chakra, 20% of your maximum reserves. Considering you were the only test subject, this means that 20% is not a verified fact and can, in fact, change depending on the individual. What reassurance do we have that this black material won't use 100% of our chakra? What reassurance do we have that it is not continuously absorbing your chakra?"

Before Minoru could get a word out, Kazuki said one more thing, as if to make it seem like he was on his side. It was true, his actions were reckless and dangerous, but science was always full of danger. A leap of faith, leads on to either glory or doom. In this case, it led to glory. Perhaps, he would not be so lucky in the future. It was at that moment, the young Senju decided to need volunteers to test his latest works. They would need approval from Kazuki, and measures would be taken to keep their memories secret.

"However, do not allow my questions to divert your from the main focus, what you have done is admirable and will remain so regardless of my inquisitive words."

As the Senju faced his Overlord, the last of his words caused a tiny smile to creep up onto his mouth. With a slight bow of his head, he answered some of his mentor's important questions.

"True. The results could vary immensely. A study with only one participant, well...would be laughed at in the scientific community. It has no credibility. I do not have evidence to present that would sway you otherwise from the notion that this material may suck someone dry of all they have. But I do know this, it needs a host to survive. It knows it needs a host, which is why even now, it feeds ever so slightly on my chakra. Chakra is its food source. Without it, the material somehow becomes no more. This is why, I have reason to believe it will not do such a thing.

When the liquid engulfed my body, I felt a primitive consciousness. It only had one thought: survive and adapt. Without me, this material would likely decay unless coming into contact with another organic host that has enough chakra. Somehow, it feeds on the smallest amounts, barely noticeable. You get used to it. Preliminary results detailed in the file say that I exposed it to an inorganic surface. It did solidify, but once I came back, hours later, the material had evaporated somehow. The mechanism is still unknown at this point. That probably answers your second question, but let me be sure you know the answer. It is indeed absorbing my chakra. At first, it makes you feel a little woozy. Like all good things, the body adapts, as it does to exercise. I don't feel it anymore. It will not effect me in battle either."

Minoru sat back into his chair as he spoke, facing Kazuki. He was excited to do more, but he needed to be sure his Overlord had enough information to satisfy him. Waiting for a reply to his explanation, he seemed to doze off. Black chakra engulfed his right index finger, and scribed a sun on his chest, next to other shapes. The AiT blew off the weird behavior. His Overlord was one of many talents and abilities, sometimes he did weird stuff like scribe black shapes, summon undead beasts, and even conjure the strongest walls.
