There was an alternative to walking into a viper's den with a piece of parchment and one's word to reach an accord with Kohonagakure. The largest tournament the world has ever seen was taking place in Tea Country. Honestly, she was not keen on Kurosawa either as she knew that the Diamyo had intimate relations with the people of Sound. However, in comparison it was a calculated risk. Kazuki had a higher risk of being targeted in Kohonagakure that Kurosawa, here a Soverign would have to answer to the laws of this land and she doubted that they would have the same liberties here. They were still a risk, but it was unlikely more than one or two would be sent to Tea if any at all. In fact, this was an opportune time to strike Sunagakure. She expected Ishii to try something, hopefully the village could handle themselves. If anything the tournament was their best chance as well. Their best chance to find help in neutral territory was now. Letting Kazuki complete his non-aggression agreement would satisfy his completionist compulsion and give her a chance to push him towards seeking something more specific. She was fully aware that pride would prevent Kazuki from requesting assistance but like every woman she had her ways.
She would gain passage on a ship bound for Kurosawa, it was a trader's ship, nothing fancy but the voyage was barely more than a day in good waters and perhaps two in stormy weather. The waters were fair of course, the ship would rock and bob on the waters. Michi would spend a majority of the time hugging the rails and vomiting over the edge. She did not care for long boat rides apparently, something she did not know before as this was her first. They would eventually dock in Shinogi Landing, Michi would sway off the boat. when her feet touched land again for the first time she would sway and a wave of nausea would attempt to overtake her. She would dry heave over the edge of the dock, a less than glorious display but at the very least she knew that it would not be over. The sea sickness at the very least. There were going to be other problems of course, burdens Mikaboshi had not warned her of. Perhaps he did not know. She did not know why but she was ravenous. At first she would blame the lack of food and drink she was able to keep down for the last day and a half but the gnawing hunger started even before.
She would seek fish and vegetables to sate her hunger but she would find them unfilling.
Of course that is where this day starts, at a fish market in the landing shortly after dawn, their ship had arrived with a dozen or so other ships. Merchants were announcing the catch of the day, some shellfish and of course some larger catches from deeper waters. Michi would purchase a large side of fish she recognized, similar to tuna and quite large. The hunk of meat was about the side of her forearm. The fish would of course be raw, tasteless and bland. No it was not even sushi, she was too hungry to try and make it appear to be a civilized meal as she ripped the flesh from the whole fish with her teeth. It would of course not take her long to realize that she was not hungry for what most would consider food. It was a gruesome revelation that she only exhibited with a sigh as she carelessly tossed what remained of the fish steak off the side of the dock. She would just have to stay hungry.
She would frown at the revelation but then push it to the back of her mind. "Sennin Senju, you should find everything and everyone you need here." She was of course referring to fellow Kohonans. She would seek another animal entirely of course. The treaty with Leaf as far as she was concerned was a farce to get the Sennin to expose himself in foreign territory. She did not want to kill anyone from Fire Country but she was a practical woman, if she was going to do so she would on neutral ground. "I recommend Kotodama Keep," she had never been there before but she was familiar enough with the major landmarks thanks to her reading or finding a nice hotel in the city."[/b][/color] Yes, she said hotel, not restaurant. That was purposeful, she needed a place to cleanly dispose of them if discussions went sour. Kodoma sounded more reasonable than a hotel, but the hotel would have been easier. In either case, she was more concerned with preparations and assurances than the actual matter at hand.
Was she a sociopath? No, she was simply practical.
"I am certain that we can find the headset signal for at least a Sennin if not the Hokage, if he is truly interested in a 'treaty' then he would have no qualms meeting," she reasoned. Indeed, she did not believe there was any actual treaty. At least one that they intended to honor but he would have to discover that on his own.
