Kumogakure is protected by a combination of impassable rock formations and sheer unclimbable cliff faces. The only access to and from the village is located within the Dragon Tooth Pass, where an opening was once blasted through stone in ancient times through means impossible to replicate today. This gap is now protected by the village gates, overseen by guard towers staffed with shinobi at all times. These men and women are constantly on alert for attempts at trespass or unlawful egress.



Anatsu was an average height shinobi. He had calm dark colored eyes. His travel cloak covered his hair and most of his body. He didn't want to be detected when leaving the village. He was a man of many skills and attributes and had hoped that these skills would grant him residency in a foreign village. For some reason, he thought Kumogakure would be a good place to start. He also hoped they would not arrest him. He was weak from his travels and hoped to avoid any conflicts.

It was another day at the Kumogakure gates. It had been a very long time since we had seen any action; the last time was when the Hoshikage arrived and caused quite a stir. But I was thankful nothing like that was going to happen soon. So I walked up to the man with a kind smile and bowed respectfully. "Passport and any other documents that may help speed up the process please." I requested simply.

It was a weird feeling to be on the other end of it. He had been the one that had casually asked visitors the for the same documentation his entire life. Now he was a rogue ninja, attempting to enter a place he did not belong and did not know if he was welcome. But as an ANBU, he understood that lying never worked.

"I am a Rogue Ninja of Konohagakure. I do not have much money and I certainly do not have any food. What I do have is an arsenal of talents that I have acquired over many years of serving my village. I would like to request a meeting with your village officials, perhaps my talents could be of use in tracking down any rogue ninja of Kumogakure. If I am not permitted entry, I understand and will turn around immediately."

He didn't want any trouble, but he knew that it might be too late should the Kumogakure ninja decide to arrest him for being too honest.

 

[Morishige]

My left eyebrow rose as I heard the words Rogue Ninja of Konohagakure. While the man explained his situation I was already switching to a channel I seemed to be frequenting as of late: the Main Branch Sennin. He announced his intentions and really seemed professional about it, and there was no reason for me to be any less professional. But I did give him a funny look when he finished. "How brazen of you. Most people don't go around announcing that. If you would give me a moment, protocol dictates I speak with a superior about those without passports." I replied with a nod of the head.

Looking down the the ground, I began the message to Masao. "Takaki-sama, this is Deathwatch Captain Ishikawa. We got another one here at the gates without a passport. Claims to be a rogue shinobi from Konohagakure, here to offer his services in hunting down some of our own traitors. He says he'd like to meet with you." I concluded and then looked to Anatsu while I waited for some response. There was no treaty between lead and cloud, so no reason to arrest him. But it wasn't up to me, that's what Masao was for.

 

[Takaki Saeko]

Why are there so many of these coming our way suddenly? thought Masao, shaking his head on receipt of Zaku's transmission. First, there had been that "knight," who if not a missing-shinobi equivalent by decree, was one by default. Then there was the large party of castoffs from Mist, and now the newest arrival was apparently a missing from Leaf. Why was Cloud becoming so uncomfortably popular?

"Ishikawa-taichou, I'm leaving it to your discretion. We have no official extradition treaty with Neo-Konoha, and if he's not attempting to hide his affiliation, he's probably not interested in causing trouble - at least not immediately. He may stay and replenish supplies on a temporary basis, but keep a close eye on him. He's a valuable source of information on the state of affairs in Yamaguchi Kami's domain. If he has pursuers, make sure he knows we're not going to give him up, but we're not going to shelter him either," radioed Masao back to Zaku. "Once he's rested, I would like to speak with him. Provided of course, you see no reason to bar entry."

Masao's words rang logical in my headset as I looked at the man. He seemed to be rather calm, so I doubted that anyone happened to be following him. "Understood sir." I replied and then looked to Anatsu with a smile. "Why don't we come over here and get you a temporary passport so that if your stopping in Kumogakure you can show them that you were let in legally. Once that's all finished you can head on in and make yourself at home. But, my superior would like to speak with you once you feel ready." I mentioned with a content tone.

Hopefully, the man would give his name an relevant information for the temporary visa so that he could be permitted inside.

Anatsu was greeted and everything was handled quickly. He nodded and took out a piece of identification. It was his shinobi registration that highlighted his name and clan.

"Anatsu of the Uchiha Clan, Konoha Jounin."

So it was now revealed that he was a member of the notorious Konoha Uchiha clan. He could not wait to rest and eat. Even though his money probably wouldn't last long, he didn't worry too much. He was confident in his talents and his ability to find work. Everyone needed someone to be assassinated in the ninja world and no one was better than Anatsu at doing just that. It would simply take the appropriate pocket of cash to make it happen.
