Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Takeshi stood outside the gates to the forest of death, each one of the students who had signed up in the weeks before the exam had time to prepare, they had time to understand their strengths and weaknesses, and they had time to make sure that they were in the right frame of mind for what was waiting for them. As he paced backward and forwards he looked over to some rocks, backpacks were laid out into groups, each with different colors of them, and he knew full well that this would be a tough challenge. But these exams were meant to be tough, they had the potential it was now to see which of the students had the guts to carry it through to the very end.

As he stood silently, it was a waiting game, the letters would be arriving summoning them to this location, normally out of bounds, it would be a trial and each one was set to test them as they had never been tested before, he allowed his usual smile to come out as his red eyes waiting to lock onto anyone approaching and see out of all the students, who had the drive, desire and will of fire to see this through.

The exam was finally here… his hand began shaking at first. Holding the letter, the extremely heavy letter…

This was his first big exam since graduating from the Academy. Past images began flying past his eyes again – images of his father and mother standing by as pictures were taken. And it all dawned on him again – he had nobody to impress in this exam. Nobody held any expectations for him back then, so why would they have any expectations for him now?

This Cursed Seal on his palm… it brought his angered mind back on track. He did have someone who waited for him now. Friends who didn’t see him as a failure… but as a fellow shinobi. Friends who made him powerful, physically or mentally. People he could finally smile among…

Shusuke would throw a tantrum if he came late, either way. His outfit was complete – a purple haori over a slightly baggy, black onesie that he borrowed from his father’s younger days. All three of his blades were sheathed away – his two smaller katanas on his left hip, and his ōdachi on his back.

And then, he moved out. Didn’t even notify his parents – the more time passed, the less they meant to him. Served them right…

Arriving at the Forest of Death did remind him of waking up at the Byoin after his ‘spar’ against Shusuke. What a one-sided battle that was… but Shusuke made things a little clear to him. The swordsman hoped that he’d gathered enough experience to not be a burden anymore. To finally escape these red clutches of loathsome staggering and impress those he genuinely cared about.

To rub it in his parents’ faces that he was actually something. “Greetings… Hokage-sama.”

The female walked out of the thick forest that made up most of the Forest of Death. She came to a stop next to the Hokage. It has been a long time since she had gotten the opportunity to wear her Anbu gear again, wearing it almost felt like she was home. She grinned under her mask, the mirrored surface of it hid her face completely. There was only a handful of people who would know who she was under this mask and one of them was the man that has summon her. Silently she examined those that had arrived so far, she didn't know their faces, it has been a long time since she had concerned herself with the comings and goings of the Academy. Crossing her arms over her chest she waited silently for the others to arrive.

Shusuke would slowly make his way towards the Exams location. He was wearing his standard clothing of a white button shirt and a plaid tie underneath an all black cloak. Normally the boy wouldn't be seen carrying a weapon, but today was an exception. The last time he was here he was sparring his friend Take-kun, but was interrupted by some outside force. Letting out a sigh as he approached he held onto the handle of the scythe that now rested on his shoulder. His eyes looked over the area. He raised an eyebrow at the assortment of bags before approaching Otakemaru.

"I wonder how this will go for us. I am sure you will be chosen as a Chuunin leader with no issues." In the back of his mind he was curious if Akio, Keniwa, and Kiriyomi were planning on coming afterall. He converyed to them that he truly believed that they were ready for it, but who knows.

Kiriyomi woke early that day, anxiously sitting at the breakfast table and staring down at his eggs and bacon with butterflies in his stomach. The exams were finally here, and he had been honing his skills. The forbidden techniques he had learned were fresh in his mind, despite being able to manifest his cursed seal. Staring down at his hand, he wonders when it will finally show up. Would it appear during the exams, when he might need it most? Or would he have to do the exams on his own prowess, which he still doubted despite all of his training. Shusuke had risked so much to help him along, and he still hadn't been able to make use of the ability he was given. He wondered if Take had been able to manifest his yet?

Finally, the time for the exams rolled around and Kiri followed the instructions from the letter. He had been to the Forest of Death once before, but that was without permission. It was totally different to be invited here, especially since this was the location of the exams. He looked around for his friends, but they hadn't yet shown up. Shusuke and Take were here, but Kiri was afraid to approach and talk to them just yet. Instead, he decided to stand off to the side and stare in awe at the Hokage standing before him. What would this exam entail, if Genin like Shu and Take were invited? Was this an exam for more than just Academy Students to reach Genin? Hopefully all would be revealed soon.

Aria's morning had started like most mornings. Sneaking into the academy early to use the showers before sweet talking a janitor into letting her pilfer a small amount of food from the cafeteria in order to last the morning had become a normal everyday routine for the young Senju since she had moved into the forests around the village and lived out there like a wild child for two years now. However today was special day or so the janitor informed her as he basically shoved the invitation that had been left for her into her face, It seemed the teachers had signed Aria up for the Genin exam, Probably in an attempt to get rid of her not that Aria cared and was just excited to finally get out of the academy and out into the greater world where there were more people for her to punch. Aria rushed straight from the academy to the Exam locations, looking around she noticed a few familar faces that had already arrived ahead of her and just grinned in excitement at all the strong fighters that had gathered. Aria herself had changed a lot since she had trained with Shusuke now being taller and having trained her outfit and she couldn't wait to show her one time tutor how she had mastered the skills he had taught her.

Mitsuha had grown a little bit since the start of her ninja career. But she is very far from her goals that have been set forth by herself. Today was the day of her Genin Exams. She had been getting ready, doing a sort of daily routine when her butler had informed her parents of a letter. Upon reading its contents, the girl stood up. "So... This is it..." No doubt about it that she was nervous. There was also the idea of having to work with people and meet new faces as well...

Her own training to be more social and not shy hasn't really been going so well to be honest. But now not only her skills, but her social abilities will be put to the test today. Rereading the note, she found out about the location of the exam. Forest of Death. She has been in the place two other times, one was because she honestly forgot, and the other time, she was dragged in and ended up helping some people.

She would carry her own rapier at her hip, her other two weapons smaller, hidden on her person. She would eventually find the place, as other people have gathered around. The young Kaguya would not really stare at anyone, but rather look at the ground. However, she was aware of the Hokage, as she seen the robes of the kage in her field of view, and what looks like Otakemaru, which she remembered is also kind of awkward. "Good luck everyone..." She would manage to say, hoping that nobody would pay her any mind.

Dressed in what could only be described as a messy chef style, Jinzo's traditional shinobi gear had a flair of artistic liberty beholden to it. If it wasn't the row of no doubt, sharp blades strapped to his person or the large wok strapped to his back, it definitely was the smell of freshly baked pastries that followed him as he took his place among the many. Smart enough to eat while on the way instead of in front of everyone, Jinzo had unfortunately missed a smudge of jam on his collar that gave away what might be considered jitters. not knowing exactly what to expect, the fact that they were all gathered at the Forest of Death could only mean that the higher ups meant business and that there was a strong possibility that not everyone would make it. Seeing both the fourth Hokage and a masked guard, Jinzo took the opportunity to see if there were any other people that he recognized. So far there was only Aria, and if their last encounter had meant anything, then he would definitely be cognizant of what he said and when he said it, least she call in a favor from the fifth Hokage. From what he could gather, there was supplies but as people continued to trickle in, he couldn't parse from anyone else if there was an idea what they were for. Colored and set out in some sort of pattern, Jinzo had a number of ideas that popped into his mind, but he'd wait to see what else might shake up.

Akio's morning was a diligent one. He'd told his new companion, Kazan, about the importance of the day, what it meant to him, and how it might affect his future. And though the wizened old tortoise scoffed at how caught up in the present the boy seemed to be, he had imparted a bit of initial advice, and Akio had listened. He'd made sure to go to sleep early and had awoken at the crack of dawn. Stepping outside into one of the serene courtyards of the Senju complex, the boy sat in meditation, closed his eyes, and felt the chakra welling within his pathways. He felt the junctions where his natural differences as a Senju split the stream and turned some of his life force into chakra while another smaller part filtered into natural energy. It was this crossroads that the boy focused on. He knew that over time he could re-energize himself, regaining the chakra that he lost if he rested and meditated upon it. But there was a limit. However, that pool of golden natural energy that collected within in, that felt limitless, especially since he'd been training in the sage arts that Kazan had been teaching him. So he focused, he poured himself, his soul, his life, his chakra into those pathways, even placing himself into Sage Mode and back repeatedly as he shored up the reservoir of natural energy within him until he could feel it shine golden like the sun that began to rise and cascade through the tree-covered skyline of the complex. Filling himself with chakra one more time, the boy exhaled and reopened his eyes. "I'm ready." He said, giving a nod and a smile to his chelonian companion as he made his way out of the complex grounds and towards the Forest of Death, the place that this whole adventure of being a shinobi had began a few years ago.

As he approached, thoughts bombarded Akio's mind, one's he couldn't shake since his grandfather and mentor had fallen ill, and he reminisced upon that day in the forest, when he'd first manifested his Senju bloodline and when Grandpa Itsuki taught him that important lesson about destiny. However, as airheaded as Akio could be at times, he knew that today was important. "Moving towards oranges." He said the thought aloud, and it brought a smile to his face, even if it was one that was uncharacteristically tempered with solemn reality. Nevertheless, his grandfather's words echoing in his head were the last push he needed, and he stepped towards the meeting place with determination in his bright green eyes. By the time he'd arrived and saw that multitude of familiar faces, and a couple that were less familiar, his trademark bright and toothy grin had appeared back on the young adolescent's face. "Hey Kiri! Hey Susuke! Hey Take! Hey Aria! Hey Mitsuha! Hey... guy I don't know yet! Good luck! I hope everybody does awesome!" He gave a bright and cheery wave to each of those who had arrived before him and visibly brimmed with effervescent excitement, his overflowing golden natural energy almost giving him a slight aura in the morning light. That smile tempered a bit as he thought, 'I wonder where Keni is...' He then proceeded looked over at what appeared to be the two proctors of the exam: a masked woman he had never seen before, and the Hokage himself. He bowed in their direction, a gesture he'd seen his father and grandfather do countless times when meeting the heads of the village, and said, to himself as much as them. "I'm ready."

Checking again the string of his bow, again he checked how his kunai were. He tested his eyesight to make sure that he could see everything in the distance. Even Lulu, the little companion was a little bit more tense thanks to the actions of Nova.
It was then that his big brother joined that Nova got shocked out of his thoughts. “S-sorry..”
“That nervous huh..?” He had asked Nova who looked towards his feet in response. “no… yes… Maybe a little..” He tried to speak as confidently as he was, but that was far to find. “Don’t worry, I think you got this.” It was then that Nova turned towards him and looked sad at the bandaged-up arm. “I find it sad that you cannot join this exam…” Their neat hair of Nova got ruffled as his father joined the conversation. “I will look after him.” The older man sounded with a reassuring smile. Nova nodded towards him and focussed back on his brother as he spoke. “ It was also my bad, I got wounded badly on that mission. But I am still in the race, I will just need to make sure that you cannot defeat me with that all!” He spoke and made a motion to do a fist bump.
Nova responded to that to clash his own fist against his brothers before standing up. Going over his gear one last time and that was when his father gave him a little charm in the form of a small owl. “Cherish this…” He spoke as he would wave Nova out.

’I believe… it was somewhere around here…’ He thought as he followed the trail towards the entrance of the forest where he had been caught before. He thickly swallowed for a moment before looking more around. ’Seems like I am already more to the late side…’ Slowly he tilted his head as he got closer towards the group and looked around. ’ I don’t recognize half of them… other half I do… Wasn’t shu higher then us..? Would that incline that there would be more then meets the eye..?’[ it was then that he started to look more to the surroundings, trying to catch things already.
As he was close by everyone he would make a small polite bow. “Hokage-same, everyone. Nice to meet you.” He would be a bit static on the introductions, already fully forgetting his own name. It was also being nervous for this exam and what it would entrail.

Nao got the summon when he was just about to start his day. "Hmm?" he questioned before looking towards the scroll and opening it up. "W-what..." He... wasn't entirely sure as to why he was picked... He was full defensive type. And yet he was chosen. A slight sigh left him as he got up from his porch and started to dress and quickly made his way to the location.
He wasn't in the most optimal mood there was, given the fact it was a. Morning, b. he forgot his smokes... He forgot that!

"Hokage-same." He would too nod towards the masked person standing near them all and wait for the further instructions given to him. He wasn't going to make this easy and was already debating... Yokai sage or Kami sage...

Another day running late... This was getting out of hand too many times had he been late to class or a mission, usually caught up on his own feelings and problems. And today was similar in a way but entirely different. The boy was actually excited to meet all of his friends for the exam, feeling confident with all his recent experiences and hardships he had conquered working together with others. A short while ago he had next to no one to count on outside of his mother, and now well he couldn't even fit them all on one hand! Losing track of the time as he was psyching himself up early in the morning, doing several push ups, sit ups, squats and even running a few miles around leaf returning back home to find out he should have been on his way a couple minutes ago. In an erratic dash for time he grabbed as much food as he could from his breakfast prepared by his ever loving mother, stuffing the scrumptiousness down his gullet as he would jump from building roof to roof taking the fastest possible route to the entrance of the forest of death.

As he ran his mind was fueled with a burning passion to succeed, all his experiences building up to this moment so that he could continue to help the ones around him, being there to protect them no matter what. Kiriyomi and Keniwa's fight, Shusuke's unending advice, Akio's compassion in the face of adversity, Jinzo's generosity helping Keniwa attain a new found power within, Aria's willpower and Take's resolve allowing them to save each other, Hoshirei's and Nao's lessons and the Anbu's patience and peace of mind. These memories all swirled and spread brightly the will of fire driving him towards the gate. Finally all his friends were in sight, without them he wouldn't be here today. He would lunge in between Kiriyomi and Akio his arms around each of their shoulders as he chuckled "Hello Akio and Kiriyomi! I've been waiting for today!" Gazing round at the rest of the leaf students he would exclaim "Shusuke, Take, Jinzo and Aria! Hello to you as well." His large grin and smile however would quickly dissipate upon his eyes landing on the Hokage. Instantly unlocking himself from the two he would swiftly bow in respect "Im so sorry I am late Hokage sir." Slowly rising his upper torso back up to give a small but confident smile to his squad.

’So it’s the forest of death. I’ve been there a few times myself. I guess this exam won’t be so bad.’ He held the paper with his left hand, now looking out of his window. Just outside of the clan home, the streets were clean, and the dirt path was already calling out to him to get out there and make it to the location already. He Balled the paper up,he threw the paper in a basket, and began wondering what lay ahead. Before walking out of the door, he thought of Keiji and Nao. He didn’t tell them that he would be participating, it probably would be better that way.

The boy grinned, thinking of what challenges the exam held. He planned on making it tough, and even pushing a few of the others past their limits. Maybe even help a few of the others out while he was there. He didn’t know who he’d run into, so it’d be best to stay prepared for anything. The wear for this exam would be a black shirt and some black cargo shorts that stopped just below his knees. The shinobi sandals he wore were also black. He would try not to stand out while participating. Thinking of his future, he wondered how the exams would pan out.

He arrived on the scene, first noticing the Hokage, an ANBU, and Nao!? ’I didn’t expect to see Nao-Sensei here. Hmm, an ANBU is here as well.’ He tried to slip in unnoticed, not eyeing the others that made their way to the forest. He didn’t know if he was recognized or if his journey through the tournament would be judged. He wasn’t in ANBU attire, as he tried to appear as another run of the mill shinobi. Those main branch guys really had it good. Wear what you want, move how you want to move, it was all good… or was it? The boy didn’t really know, he was only making assumptions. He knew they didn’t have to conceal their identity all day. Regardless, his ANBU job was all the more fun.

Takeshi nodded as he looked at everyone who had turned to the exam, seeing Nao and Yuki there he accepted that this would at least have an interesting situation, as he double-checked the list that was in his hand confirming once more that those entered had indeed turned up. With that confirmed he turned to face Nao and Yuki, it seemed that they had turned up and would be used, reaching into the pockets of his Shinobi gear he drew out ten bells, handing Nao and Yuki three each, he then fastened the last three to his belt as well on the waist and smiled towards them.

"Thanks for coming you two, Youkai your team will be assigned green bags, Nao yours will be blue and mine will be red. You have complete freedom of the entire village, you can hide where you want, and conceal yourselves as you want, the aim of the game if the team must get the bells from you. Failure to do so is a failure of the exam."

He smiled slightly allowing a gentle expression to pass across his face, as he pondered in those few minutes the best way to word this.

"Make it hard, not impossible, get them to use their heads, and work as a team, I know if you really wanted you could get them to be knocked out and fail, that isn't the goal, leadership, teamwork, determination, that is the goal. Each team has survival kits with tents, they can camp, they can survive days, hell inside Leaf they can even buy food. Make it tough for them, but reward the goals set out by myself, now to assigned locations inside the village, Noa you are assigned to......Oak District, anywhere you want within the park. Youkai blend and hide within Maple District, be creative, have fun, and of course, I thank you for your service in this exam."

His voice, and face were covered by the group of examines making sure the last few conversations would not be heard by anyone else. Takeshi turned around to the group and opened his arms welcoming every student towards the exam today, as he allowed a smile to come across his face he really did wonder how many would pass, or how many would fail, but that was a question that only the students could answer themselves.

"Good morning, everyone. Well, that day is upon us, of course nervous? Be surprised if you were not. Determined, well looking at each of you I can see that will of fire burning today. So I will not delay you, as you can see from my belt, I have four bells, and each bell is a pass, those without bells at the end of these next three days...well that is a fail unfortunately."

His hand came down pointing to the bells attached to his waist.

"Nao here, and Youkai both have three as well, which means that it's a team-building exam, the aim of the game is to get the bells from the assigned person. Teamwork, survival skills, and tactical prowess will all be tested. Each of the bags has enough gear to survive the required three days, and don't be naive in thinking that we will not put up a fight, and try to hold onto these bells with everything we have. You will have to track, find and hunt the three of us depending on who is assigned to which team, to be clear. Those with Red backpacks are against me, Green against Youkai, and Nao is Blue."

Takeshi grabbed a note from his waist as he looked down at the list of students who had turned up to his exam and the teams. Each had already been assigned a role and position inside of it, as well as an area to hunt within.

"Red Team. Team Leader, Shusuke, Team Members, Otakemaru, Mitsuha, Aria. Area confined to...well look at that Forest of Death, Grab your bags and get yourselves prepared."

"Green Team, Team Leader, Toshi, Team Members. Keni and Nova, Area assigned Maple Town."

"Blue Team, Team Leader: Akio, Team Members. Kiriyomi, Jinzo. Assigned Area, Oak District"

Takeshi folded the scroll away once more as he looked at each of them before a wicked grin came to his lips. The exam sounded so simple and so easy but there was always going to be a catch to it in the long run.

"Oh I forgot......you need to hold onto your bells if you get them, they can be taken back. Any team missing a bell at the end...well you already know. Any questions before we begin?"

[Nao - Oak District - Blue]
[Yuki - Maple Town - Green]
[Takeshi - Forest of Death - Red]
[All actions must be RPed, only using Jutsu you have, and skills you have entering into this exam, anything else is not allowed]

With no issues… huh. A lot had happened since Take became a Genin, alright – a lot. Did he now, finally, have the experience… and the skills… that it took to carry such responsibility? Then again, why doubt Shusuke’s words? If anyone could tell one’s strength, it’d be him – yet, the sour taste in the back of his throat from the expectations laid on him began to grow once more.

But he swallowed it. Now was no time to panic… he’d grown tired of panicking.

“Thank you… there’s no doubt that you’ll impress us all today, Shusuke,” he returned the encouragement back to his talented friend with a faint smile. Looking around himself, he noticed something quite peculiar… a handful Academy Students were present as well. Not only Genin were taking this exam… that was right, he remembered faintly about these conditions from back at the Hokage’s office on that day. Kiriyomi was here too… albeit he acted as shy as Take used to be.

Aria… Take spent a good minute glaring at her direction. It was made painfully obvious that, ever since the glob incident explained by Keniwa, Take had grown… quite affectionate towards the woodland Senju. Genuinely unexplainable to the swordsman – where did these feelings come from? He’d never interacted with her prior to wreaking havoc at the bathhouse, but… feelings were enigmatic.

He 100% paid mind to Mitsuha’s words, throwing her a thumbs-up with that still monotone look on his face. Anything to help the little manga reader out in times like these – he knew that she suffered from societal angst just as much as he did at times. However… she’d likely notice just how much more solid Take’s gaze had gotten.

To his surprise, there were also a couple new faces around. Some bore Headbands and revealed to be Genin, while others… might have been Academy Students that he hadn’t stumbled upon back in his days of solitude. Akio arrived too, though – Take’s temporary wooden sword! He’d have to apologize to the lad for treating him so roughly back when tackling Shusuke’s giant multi-headed serpent jutsu-

The more he thought about it, the more ridiculous that Jutsu came to sound…

“Nao… sensei?” He hadn’t met Nao-sensei in a while… he hoped that the Sennin would be proud to see Take not twiddle his fingers anymore. No longer looking down at the ground at every turn. No longer fearing his own incompetence… nearly as much as before.

Lord Fourth came in quick with today’s examination – Take’s eyes glared sharply at the bells he tied to his belt as Lord Takeshi explained that taking one such bell from either him, Nao-sensei or Yōkai would indicate a pass. This exam would also undergo in teams, with each proctor having a team assigned to them… and Take began speculating who he’d end up teaming up with. To be frank, he still felt quite… reserved, and he genuinely wanted to team up with people he knew… but then again, if he wanted to become a Chūnin in the future – and a leader at that – then he’d need to cooperate even with people he’d never met before. He’d need to be more open…

He joined the Red Team, targeting Lord Fourth himself. What a tall wall to climb over… but he was assigned in a team along with Shusuke, Mitsuha and Aria. He found solace in his heartwarming company… but taking a bell from Lord Fourth himself would not be easy.

He’d likely have to reveal his Forbidden Power to him at one point. Hopefully, he wouldn’t get in too much trouble for that.

Aria had been shaking like a leaf in the wind as more and more leaf ninja entered the clearing for the exam, A bloodthirsty grin of excitement twisted her features into an expression of feral happiness that made it look like the girl was just waiting for someone to, shout fight so she could spring on the closest ninja. Despite her enthusiasm to fight her peers however, Aria didn't want to hurt anyone instead she was just excited at this opportunity to hopefully be pitted against a ton of different fighting styles with ninja who were more competent, than the more cannon fodder students still at the academy. Her eyes gently passed over the students as she noticed Keni arrive last and just gave him a happy smile and a wave at his greeting before the fourth Hokage stepped ahead of the congregation of ninja. This was the first time Aria had ever seen the man and the first thought that came to her was... 'I can't beat him!' The errant instinctual thought actually surprised Aria as she didn't tend to think in absolutes that way but that also meant he had to be strong to damper her fighting spirit just showing up in front of a crowd.

The Hokage went on to explain the exam and assign teams which kinda bummed Aria out, since she wasn't going to be able to fight everyone at the exam today but instantly perked up when it turned out that they were going after the Hokage himself, who despite her apprehension still excited Aria like no one had since she fought the kid inside the blob monster. Speaking of, movement caught the corner of her eye and when she looked over she saw the kid Keni and herself had saved from being a pile of flesh. She noticed that he was glaring at her for whatever reason. Not really caring about being glared at cause it would mean a fight down the line Aria just smiled widely at him and gave him the good old nice guy pose with a big thumbs up before she lost interest, as she noticed the Hokage was now stepping down to wait for his challengers. Following after Take since she was his teammate for this test Aria rushed past him and straight up to the Hokage as she bounced up and down on her heels once she stopped in front of him with obvious excitement.

Shusuke's Red and Blue eyes were pinpointed onto Takeshi as it seemed the ceremony was about to begin. He didn't really pay attention to anyone else as he had a point to prove. Though he recently graduated as a Genin he was working on par with Chuunin while under his mask within the ANBU Branch as he trained to be a full ANBU operative. A grin of excitement came over him as he could feel the adrenaline pumping through his veins.

Takeshi-Ojisan would be his prey. The strongest challenge yet. He had met the members of his squad before, but he only had a grasp as to the strength that Take-kun had. He would rely heavily on Take for this exam to prove himself worthy of being a squad leader. He touched his thumb and ring fingers together to trigger his Yamanaka Style: Third Eye Blind technique that he has used with Takeshi before that allowed the boy to speak directly with the Hokage where no one else could hear him.

`I hope you're ready, Takeshi-Ojisan. We won't be holding back.`

If Takeshi was looking at Shusuke he would notice the fully activated and incorporated Sharingan staring back at him,

Akio's characteristic smile grew as he saw that his friend Keniwa had finally arrived, as well as Sennin Nao, the one shinobi that the adolescent Senju had grown to look up to the most out of anyone in the entire village apart from perhaps his beloved grandfather. "Hey Keni! Good luck!!" The boy said with a bright smile, then looked over at his future branch leader and added, "Hiya Nao-sennin! I won't let you down today! Remember? It was a promise!" Akio had meant those words that he'd said to the leader of clan Sakurako when the Sennin had decided him worthy of maintaining his own garden within the Konoha Byoin. And the young man was determined to make right on them. After all, today he felt stronger than he ever had before.

Another student caught the young Senju's eye, clad in a relatively simple all-black ensemble, the boy moved with grace and strength that belied his youthful appearance. Something about the boy's aura seemed different from the rest, despite his attempt to hide in plain sight. However, as the Hokage stepped forward and began to speak, the thought quickly fled the sunny Senju's mind. "Good morning, everyone. Well, that day is upon us, of course nervous? Be surprised if you were not. Determined, well looking at each of you I can see that will of fire burning today." The words struck true. Even if Akio didn't realize it himself, he was definitely nervous, but even truer than that was the fact that he was determined. The Will of Fire did burn, deep within his soul, and the look in his bright-eyed greens and overflowing golden natural energy that exuded from the boy was proof purchase of it. As Takeshi continued, explaining the details of the exam, how they'd each have to get a bell by the end, that Nao, Yuki, and himself would be trying to prevent it, and that they'd be split into three teams, Akio's mind already began to race. Which of the exam's proctors would he be assigned to? Would he, Keni, and Kiri get paired as the team that they already were beginning to see themselves as? And most importantly, how would they overcome the challenge set before them. Only one thing was sure in Akio's mind: 'It's all or nothing. I won't be the kind of shinobi who leaves his teammates behind.'

Akio brimmed with excitement as Takeshi began to read out the groups. "Red Team. Team Leader, Shusuke, Team Members, Otakemaru, Mitsuha, Aria. Area confined to...well look at that Forest of Death, Grab your bags and get yourselves prepared." 'They're gonna do great!' He thought, remembering Shusuke's quick mind and genjutsu prowess, Take's fiery determination, Mitsuha's unique bloodline, and of course Aria being a Senju like himself.

"Green Team, Team Leader, Toshi, Team Members. Keni and Nova, Area assigned Maple Town." It was here that Akio's eyes went wide. Keni had been paired up with fellow-fox-lover Nova on a team led by that black-clad boy he'd seen before, and not only that, but he and Kiriyomi hadn't been assigned with him. 'Good luck Keni! I know you'll do awesome!' He thought silently, giving his Kyoujouran friend a smile and a big thumbs up. With how shy Keni tended to be, he hoped this would instill him with a little confidence about his prospects with his new teammates.

Finally, the Hokage continued and listed off the members of the last group. "Blue Team, Team Leader: Akio" If Akio's eyes had been wide before, the expression had paled in comparison to how shocked he appeared now. It wasn't that he didn't have confidence in his abilities. He did. But walking into the exam today, he never expected to be leading a team, much less competing with Sennin Nao for his team's chance at passing the exam. It was the most pressure the young man had faced outside his rigorous training with Kazan. "Team Members. Kiriyomi, Jinzo. Assigned Area, Oak District" As his team members were listed off, his first friend Kiriyomi among them, that expression of surprise was wiped clean off his face and was replaced by a look that shone with determination, an anticipatory grin making his cheeks rise and bright green eyes narrow. Not only was his friend Kiriyomi counting on him, but this would be his opportunity to make good on his promise and prove to his future branch leader that he had what it took to follow in his footsteps and someday be a great Med-nin just like him. He thought a mental affirmation to himself before regarding his two new teammates. 'No matter what, I'm not givin' up.'

Akio had already been heading over to meet Jinzo, the one teammate he hadn't had a chance to yet, waving Kiriyomi over as well, when Takeshi continued with his final stipulation. "Oh I forgot......you need to hold onto your bells if you get them, they can be taken back. Any team missing a bell at the end...well you already know. Any questions before we begin?" The sunny and determined young Senju looked to his teammates then back over to the Hokage and replied. "None from me! We've got this Hokage-sama!" Within moments the group huddled up to confer, strategizing the kind of approach they'd take for the task at hand. They each had their own unique talents: Akio was an Archsage, capable of wielding natural energy and shaping the world around him, and was a ninjutsu specialist with focuses in barriers, healing, clones, and elemental techniques. Kiriyomi was an Aburame genjutsu expert with a powerful seal, an army of insect allies, and some dark secrets hidden within as well. And Jinzo was adept in ranged Taijutsu and was a Battlesmith, a mechanical genius who capable of creating and altering all sorts of items. They made a formidable and diverse team, and it didn't take long for the three to come up with a plan that was unique to them and that relied on all three of their talents used in conjunction. "Sounds like a plan! If we work together, even Sennin Nao won't be able to stop us from getting those bells!" Akio said with a smile and a nod to his two allies. The boy's aura was bright, absolutely brimming with optimism, determination, and most importantly, confidence in his team. That teamwork would prove invaluable in the days to come. After all, Sennin Nao was a formidable opponent, and snatching bells from an S-Rank shinobi would be no easy task. Time was ticking, so with that, the three rushed off to the Oak District in pursuit of the Medical Leader of Leaf.

Yuki allowed a grin to form under her mask, this is going to be fun. She nodded to Takeshi to signal to understand what she had to do. She took the time to look at each of the children in her group, it was going to be interesting to see what they could do.

"I'll be seeing you She pointed to them before disappearing into a flock of crows.

Nao would nod a couple of times on his words. he heard how he was free to use the city, but had been assigned to Oak district. Then he was told to have fun, and enjoy what they could have and use. He would smile too as this genuine seemed fun and more like the childs game Hide and seek.

"Alright, let's make this interesting..." He muttered as he looked to the bells in his hand and let them dangle a little in bright view for all the children too. " Now where to put you..." He wasn't all too sure on where to put the bells, his belt?, his waist? In his hairs..?

Right when Takeshi started speaking to each of them, he would wave to Otakamaru, then Akio as he adressed him.

"Blue Team, Team Leader: Akio, Team Members. Kiriyomi, Jinzo. Assigned Area, Oak District"

With that he would smile as he too, would turn into flocks of crows and vanish into think air to the district he had been given.
