Silence. The rose-haired boy didn't say a word as he listened to Rise speak. It appeared that during the fight she was playing out a myriad of rather lewd scenarios involving Koji and Kaen. He himself even made a cameo in one of them! Thank Kami no one had invented Brain-o-Vision yet...
Rise's words were biting. bBut they were at the same time sad. Usually people got mad whenever he threw tantrums like that and blew up at him, calling him "idiot" and such. But this girl didn't do any of that. She accepted his insult, saying that yes; she was in fact scared of these people. It looked like there was no driving her to action by insulting her courage (though that wasn't what he was trying to do, he was actually just being childish). The boy continued to stare at her, his large brown irises remaining fixed on the girl as she spoke. From her account she had been through hell, and these people that held dominion over here were
NOT to be taken lightly. I don't know about you guys, but this was starting to sound like prime shōnen manga territory! Evil organization of bad guys...joining forces to do battle...an obvious call to action. It was all here! A perfect recipe for-
"WHAT?" ...oh yeah.
He was deaf.
A pinky finger came up to pick in one of his ears as he squinted at the white-haired woman, trying and failing to read her lips.
"TRI-BOOT...?" was the only thing he could make out, butchering the word "tribute". He shrugged. The boy had never heard of a tri-boot before. Luckily he wouldn't have to fail at this guessing game much longer as the mysterious woman decided that these things could wait til later. Yeah, that was probably best. She could have yet another frustrating conversation with this seventeen year-old child when
he could actually hear. After she spoke Kaen let out a laugh, offering to teach him that move some time. If the youth had been able to catch this he would've agreed emphatically. Instead he just nodded, pretending to know what had been said instead of outright guessing. Their new shark-toothed friend suggested they make themselves scarce, as Sand ANBU were undoubtedly on their way. If the fire and explosions didn't draw their attention, the missing squad of five Suna-nin would surely raise some eyebrows. Just as Kaen extended his hand towards Rise, the sound of ninja sandals clacking against the floor filled the nightclub. Through one of the breaches in the far wall a large group of Sand ninja charged in, all wielding appropriate weapons as they made some sort of tactical formation and began to quickly asses the current threat level. The first thing they noticed was their crumpled up comrades next to Kaen, Keiatsu, and Rise, covered in all sorts of dust and ash from the fight that had occurred. Keiatsu met their gaze with his own confused one.
Well...this didn't look too good...
"Stop right there!" one of their number called, the entire platoon drawing their weapons simultaneously. The rose-haired youth made an "o" shape with his mouth as he realized what was happening. The fuzz was here! Slowly he inched his hands towards the nearby table.
"I said stop!" the same ninja called, and the boy did halt...but only for a second. After a few seconds he couldn't resist and kept on moving his hands.
"If you make one more move I'll-...!!!" his threat was interrupted as Keiatsu finished his creep towards the table. In one quick motion he nabbed the half-full box of steaks with both hands, turned around completely so that his back was to the Sand ninja, and made a break for it. It actually took the entire platoon a few seconds to react because they were so dumbfounded by what just occurred. As the youth ran, he looked over his shoulder and shouted as his two new friends.
"RUN FOR IT!" his non volume-controlled voice was even louder than it had been. Quickly the Suna-nin regained their collective composure and began running after him and towards both Kaen and Rise. Hopefully they were light on their feet because these guys were moving quick!
So out into the night the boy ran, straw sandals clacking against the pavement as he moved, steaks carefully in hand. It seemed like he was always getting into trouble...but that didn't stop a big goofy grin from forming on his face as he moved. He ate some good food, made a few new friends, and witnessed a crazy battle. All-in-all? This was just another day in the life of Sachi A.
Keiatsu Mako.
