Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

It had been a couple of days since Soku had settled into her new role as the Sennin and already the masses were starting to overwhelm her. The paperwork that had suddenly magicall appeared on her desk, the woman had paled at. If anything, she would have gladly given anything to don the mantle of an ANBU Captain again but such things were beyond her now. She was now charged with the education and nurture of the upcoming shinobi generation and from what she had seen of the current Academy curriculum, Soku certainly was going to be making some revamps. That was not to say her sister had done a lackluster job in her performance but there were some grey areas that needed some addressing but first she needed to get a gauge of the students and just how exactly capable they were of all the obstacles the Academy would be throwing at them,

The Sennin had sent out the summons going down her roster of her students to individually analyze and the first name on the list had been one Hyuuga Kana. It was not a name she had stumbled upon in all her time within the village but then again, people were always coming and going so this would bound to be interesting nevertheless. Dressed in flowing black robes, the Santaru clan head sat at a wooden table with bookshelves surrounding her as she awaited the arrival of her student. It was a different environment from how she typically held classes given one glaring difference, this was perhaps one of the few classes that was being held on an inside basis. The kunoich could not remember the last time she held something within the village interior but it made for a nice change of pace if you asked her.

Displayed on the table in front of her were three books, one was red in color, the other was blue and the final one being green. Each one had a unique purpose and the Sennin had a very careful way how she was going to go about this. While it held the bearing of a class and the message she wanted to get across, it was also a sort of test for her to see just what steps the Academy students were at and how to best appraoch this situation. The Sennin had to remind herself with perhaps too many warnings from the Academy staff that her ANBU days were over and as such, her actions and premises should not be in that vein so it had taken some time but the kunoichi had come up with something that was not too extreme yet made the average student's mind really do a double take about what the true purpose was. She leant back in her chair steepling her fingers as she awaited the arrival of the young aspiring student curious to see what new experiences she would be a witness for this time.

Geez, Kana wouldn't think that she would be at the academy again after graduating to Genin, but here she is. Everything seemed a little different, most likely because she is taller now than when she was last here. Three years and she had hit a slight growth spurt of now being five feet tall. She still had that tom boy look going for her. This time, she wears her hat backwards, with headphones that are slightly uncomfortable on her head, that is connected to a cassette player as she listened to some tunes. She wore a black hoodie with red top shirt and black jeans.

Her head bobbed to the music playing as she walked down the halls of the Academy. But even as she was jamming out to her music, a thought had occurred to her as to why she was even here. Some woman had called a meeting here with her, right? Kana racked her brain on what was about to happen. Once she got there, she removed her head phones, to be around her neck as she looked at the woman. "Sup lady. You called for me?" She would look at the three books laid out on the table as she stuffed her hands in her hoodie pockets, looking up at the older woman. Her formality was almost nonexistent, as for the fact that she chose to be more lax than stiff of how her parents wanted her to be.

"So... What's up? With the books? You gonna read me a story?" Her sassiness and informality were both big flaws that she has, but she is always one to listen to her elders when needed. She learned that lesson with Hikaru. She was still a little mad that she couldn't land a hit on that chick, though at least the woman cared for her safety, even if it means that she is banned from going to the forest of death. Kana would hear out what the older woman had to say.

She quirked an eyebrow as an younger girl joined her at the table and it was clear that someone had forgotten their sense of formality and manners along the way. It was just like her previous instruction and Soku did her best to suppress the sigh that rose in her chest. Why did these kids insist on being such..the Sennin didn't even know what the word was but she could clearly see they had their work cut out for them especially when she was addressed as 'lady' for starters. "The name is Nanjirou Soku, Sennin of the Main Branch." She said leaning back in her chair eyeing the headphones with a relative amount of interest. What an interesting contraption, the devices and inventions the village pumped out these days seemed to be getting interesting and more curious by the day. However, they were not here to ponder over the wonders of the technological era.

She gestured to the chair opposite her indicating for the genin to sit. "Stories are for children. However, your guess is almost correct." She was just missing the mark a bit as Soku indicated the three books in front of them. Technically, they were going to be reading tales but perhaps the purpose was not what Kana had intended it to be. "Shinobi are meant to be the toughest and finest of people among but despite this, the majority of us fail to grasp our roots and what brought us to our feet." She flipped open the the first book which displayed a picture of the cemetry embedded within the village, the halls of heros and shinobis that had given their all for Konohagakure.

Doing the same again with the second and third book, the second one displayed a picture of an un-named shinobi standing on top of a cliff wielding a spear while fending off a serpent that had arisen from the crashing waves. The third book displayed an diagram of the human brain with all sorts of complicated names and such that even Soku herself would not be able to pronounce. "Today, we are going to be distinguishing realism from dreams. This is going to be unlike any Academy lesson you have probably undertaken but it is a lesson you will remember for milennia to come." She hoped so anyways, these days, it seemed words just went in one ear and out the other without actually any sort of retention of information being implemented.

"We are going to be talking about myths."

Folklore. Legend. The good stuff. They weren't going to be beating up on some training dummies or performing any jutsu which might have cast some dissappointment for some but Soku liked to take things slow and steady. Besides, she did not think the library's attending chuunin's would appreciate it very much if they turned this place into their personal battlefield. "Aetiological." She pointed to the picture of the shinobi fighting the serpent. "Historical." Again, the Sennin gestured to the picture of the graveyard before the final term was brought up. "Psychological." Finally, Soku pointed to the diagram of the brain in the third book as she repeated the terms. "Three types of myths, aetological, historical, psychological."

The instructor allowed for that to settle in before she posed the question that she was sure was resting on Kana's mind. Why on her earth was her Sennin ranting on about folklore and tales of legend. "So, now it's your turn to say something. If you had to write a myth about yourself, which category would you put it in?" She was keen to hear the answer to this indicating for Kana to go ahead while reaching over to grab a blank sheet of paper and a pencil which she placed in front of her.

Once the older woman introduced herself as the Main Branch Sennin, Kana mentally face palmed herself. This was when the formality training that her parents taught her kicked in. Geez, she never would have imagined that she would be dealing with someone important just yet. Her body stiffened and she bowed in respect, "M-My apologies, Soku-sama. I didn't know I was talking to a Sennin." She unplugged her headphone fully to have full attention on Soku.

When the Sennin gestured for her to sit, she did. It would be notable that Kana was never used to the way her parents taught her, though she knows it all by memory, regrettably. She would sit, back straight on the chair with her hands resting on her knees as she listened to the older woman speak. She spoke of the roots of shinobi and myths. This actually got Kana's attention. History was such a fascinating thing to learn. Though she wondered what myths exactly have to do with the roots of shinobi. Sure history and mythology goes hand in hand with a bit of mysteriousness as to how these myths came to be, but how would this tie in with what the Sennin is trying to tell her?

She spoke three words, Aetiological, historical, and psychological. She knew of two of the words. the third, aetiological, she can only guess is something to deal with myths since Soku pointed at the picture of a person fighting a giant serpent. Kana racked her brain, if that's the case, then two of the three would fit into why the talks of myths. "So..." She paused, not knowing if she was speaking out of turn and if it was rude or not, but her curiosity was slightly getting the better of her. "How would psychology tie in with mythology? I don't really get that part, unless if it has something to do with collective unconsciousness of the masses way back when, when tales of these myths first started popping up."

She would stop talking as she would listen to her Sennin's question. She had asked Kana which would she herself be put in of which branch of mythology. The Hyuuga thought about the question for some time. In reality, she just wants to act as herself and everyone to be okay with it. She actually does dig the way she looks, in terms of her tom boyish attire. Kana just wished that more people were accepting of it. "Geez, when you word the question that way, I'm starting to second guess myself of what I said earlier of the psychology part of myths. I mean, if the psychology one is more meant for self myths, then maybe I would go for that? In reality, I just kind of want people to respect me for who I am. I don't really see myself in fame and glory of fighting monsters, nor do I ever seeing myself ending up in history books. Just wanna, you know, be out there and people be accepting of that, if that makes sense."

Kana stopped talking and looked to her Sennin, waiting to see what the older woman had to say.

She did her best to hide the smile that sprang to her face as Kana spoke. It was just proving her point how lacking in the area of general academics most shinobi were grasping these days. Technically, her analysis was somewhat correct but it could use some work. "Well, you sorta got the idea but let me help you out on that one. " Taking a break to gather her thoughts, Soku launched into what would be a simple yet lengthy explanation of the topic at hand. It really did feel like they were back in an Academy classroom. "Historical myths are based off an true story or of real people, there is an concept of truth to them." She nodded towards the image of the cemetery. Granted, it perhaps was not the best illustration to describe the imagery of what she painted but it would suffice for now.

"Psychological myths are myths that are designed to get you thinking. They pose societal issues and controversial debates that require you to think a bit, basically make your brain hurt in places you never knew existed." Honestly, it was the type of stuff the Sennin veered far far away from but who knew, what didn't work for her might work for someone else. Still, she doubted very much Kana was into that sort of stuff as she expanded upon the last type of myth. "The last one are aetological myths which is just a fancy word for fiction. This is a true myth as it holds no degree of realism to it, fairytales, legends, the good stuff. Stuff that should be impossible to do or even talk about in real life."

After all, she had yet to meet a shinobi who had said they slain a water serpent as depicted in the picture. Heck, she wasn't sure if such a thing existed but the retired ANBU was all too keen not to find out. With the explanation now probably more well-defined, she pushed the empty piece of paper and a pencil towards Kana's side of the desk. It was blank at the moment but that would be solved pretty quickly depending on how quickly Kana could write. "So, here's what you are going to do, this should probably be the easiest assignment you have had yet. " Sitting around in a library talking about things that were probably more appropiate for an Academy teacher, Kana could consider herself lucky.

"You are going to write a myth." The instructions were simple, clear, nothing hidden, no tricks in the directives given. "It can be about yourself, anything, anyone. Just keep it short and simple." Soku said really hoping the girl would adhere to that, she did not want to be here all day reading on for hours on end about some fairytale. Short, sweet and simple was all the kunoichi needed really. "Once we're done, we're gonna determine what sort of myth you wrote." Soku said pointing to the three books again before leaning back in her chair. "That alone is going to tell me a lot about you, I suspect."

Her head tilted towards the clock and back at the empty sheet of paper that lay between them.

"Begin."

Kana listened as each of the myths were broken down for her better understanding. It seemed that she was a little bit off the mark when it came to the psychological part of myths. When Soku had said that that one was designed to bring up societal issues or controversial stuff. Kana leaned forward, listening intently as this whole thing seemed interesting to her, she never really thought much of myths other than stories of old that has had an impact on history.

Then the woman told her what she was going to do. Write a myth about anything. And once that is completed, they'll determine what kind it is and it will tell the Sennin what kind of person Kana really is. The Hyuuga picked up the pencil and looked down at the piece of paper. She tapped the pencil lightly on the desk as she thought to herself of what to write. Eventually, she thinks that she has something.

There was once a girl that came from a well established family in the heart of Fire Country. Even though she had anything she ever could want, material wise, there was one thing that she doesn't have. A normal life. It felt weird for the girl to have everyone look at her differently just because of her family status. Eventually, the girl had had enough of it and decided to make a name for herself, her own name, that people can know and respect, without hiding behind her family. But even as she tried to make herself be different, there was always people who point out her family history or belittle her for the sake of thinking that she thinks that she's better than them. It wasn't until one day that a store was being robbed. Nobody stood up to the criminals except the girl. In the end, she was severely injured, but that woke everyone up to act against the criminals. Once the criminals were done for, everyone had started to see the girl in a different light.

Kana had hoped that was good enough. She flexed her hand as she put the pencil down. Rereading it, she could find herself wanting to make more off it. It seemed like a good enough story, wait no...Myth. She wondered how her Sennin is going to react when reading this. It seemed short and Kana thinks it is simple. Whatever the case may be, Kana actually found joy in writing, a hobby that she just discovered that she just might continue on with.

"So...Um... Here you go." Kana handed the paper to the older woman to allow her to read what she wrote. If Kana had to guess her own handiwork, her myth would have the possibility to be in either one of two categories. The history one. Or maybe even the psychological one, if one were to take into account what society thinks as a whole to one person and how their thoughts changed once the girl did something really unexpected of her. But maybe she'll leave it to the expert on knowing myths to help her out on categorizing what she wrote.

Everyone was different. It was a fact that Soku had to be constantly reminded of as Kana handed her hand-crafted tale and eyes skimmed over the rather short tale. It was simple in nature but nevertheless, it got the message across. There were those people who could make an impact with few words and then on the other end, there were individuals who needed an arsenal of verbs at their disposal in order to function properly. In her opinion, the two weren't really different from each other as long as they got the job done as Soku scanned over Kana's assignment drinking in every last syllable. It was up to her expectations, just what you would expect of a young and aspiring genine though it seemed they had a little writer on their hands as well. "Sweet, short, straight to the point, I like it." Soku said nodding her approvingly.

Placing the sheet of paper down, she then gestured to the three books again before posing the million dollar that sprang to her lips. "So, tell me. Which category would you place your little myth in? Aetological, historical or psychological?" Soku of course had her own answer and while technically, there was a correct answer here, the Sennin wanted to see just how Kana viewed things from her perspective and if she had managed to grasp the bigger picture. That was to say, things were not always as they seemed and even though one thing seemed like it belonged somehwhere, you had to learn to dig deeper and pick out the little flaws and holes that would make a huge difference in the long run. It was a skillset that would serve her well in the field once she was deployed on her missions or on the other hand, it could end up costing a very tragic mistake if a ninja thought over things too much.

She had made that mistake once, never again. "Why do you think I had you go through this excercise? Do you think there was a point to it?" Most kids would fail to see why their Sennin who's role it was to nurture and enhance the shinobi generation would stuff them into the library to basically preach to them about tales of fiction and if that was all they saw then in Soku's opinion, they had a lot of work cut out for them before they could even begin to entertain the thought of an Academy graduation. Thankfully in this case though, she was dealing with a genin who had at least some form of sense between her ears but then again, the learning never stopped. It was important they learnt how to see beyond the black and white of the world because there were a whole lot of dangers out there, unseen that waited for the right chance to strike.

That was the thought that chilled her as she mentally recalled the many fiascos Konohgakure had endured, the most recent one being the Hidden Frost invasion. That had been a time of a true test and a determination of what was real and what was just a feint. It was in times like those that the most simplistic and pointless lessons at times like today helped them a lot. So while in some instances, it may not have felt like the shinobi under her care were learning anything, they would be immensely grateful in the fure when the life lessons passed down by something simple like a myth they wrote ended up saving their life one day. The world worked in mysterious ways and Soku was sure there was still a whole lot that this life still had to offer.

Kana listened as Soku praised her little myth, then thought about the question at hand of which category would her myth fall into. See, that was the problem, they way she wrote it, makes her think of two different things. "Well it can't be Aetological, for the case being that there's no random fictional monster or some crazy thing happening. But as for the other two, I see that it could be one or the other for the sense of; historical can mean it had happened in the past, though it never really delved into true events or real people, although it can happen. But as for psychological, it could mean the fact from what I wrote of the girl standing up to how society thinks of her, only due to her family status and not her. But when she did something that nobody else wanted to do, of putting herself in danger to help people, their thoughts of her changed. So, now that I'm talking about both, maybe I'm leaning more to the psychological kind of myths, the one that makes people think."

Then Soku had asked her another question. Why go through all this trouble of teaching her myths? The Hyuuga rubbed the back of her neck, trying to think of how this would all tie together. At the beginning Soku had told her about the roots of ninja. Frankly, Kana didn't really know a well enough answer for the Sennin. Though she enjoyed it, it all seemed too random for her to really grasp what the situation is. Roots... Why did she want to become a ninja? More importantly, why the path that she chose this way? Her clothes, her looks, even how she talks is because she doesn't want to be remembered as the Hyuuga girl, but rather Kana, the kunoichi that can do things. "Does it goes back to what you said when we first started talking? Of knowing your roots? These myths that you introduced to me could all have ne thing in common. Why a person wanted to become a ninja. To fighting seemingly unreal things, for the thrill of it. To go down in the history books as a legend. Or to change the way society thinks of them, or bring up a conversation that too many people would want to avoid or rather ignore."

Kana doesn't know if that was the answer that Soku was looking for, but that's what Kana felt like she learned from this talk with her Sennin.

She grinned at Kana's answer glad that she had figured it out. It was not often you ran into someone who struck true with the meanings behind her lessons but she was glad to see there was at least someone who learned to see the bigger picture as the Sennin nodded in approval at Kana's answer. It was in a sense correct as she silently applauded the girl. "You struck on perhaps the most important foundational basis of all these myths. That is to say, they all have roots, they all have origins." It did not matter where those roots came from or from whos' brain it was dervied but it was important to know how some of these stories were made into creation, it was the most essential concept of any shinobi. You needed to know yourself before you did anything and before you approached your enemy or obstacles in life, you needed to know how and why they were there.

"Knowledge is a shinobi's greatest weapon and an enemy's most obvious flaw." A pause of silence as she lifted her head to look at Kana, her fingers drumming on the wooden table that seperated the two of them. "The most dangerous enemy is the one that knows too much about you." A metallic thud sounded as her right arm rested on the shrouded by the brown cloak she wore on her shoulder as the kunoich lectured this genin on perhaps what most adult ninja failed to grasp early on in their life. It was perhaps simple to say myths or even any books of knowledge no matter fiction or reality were a perfect life lesson as she pointed at the book of the shinobi battling the serpent as her hand flipped another page and the title loomed out at them.

'The Unforunate Deeds of the Lone Shinobi', the title read as Soku pushed it towards him. "This tale is about Itsuki Kenji, a traveling shinobi who traveled from land to land performing all sorts of silly and foolish acts." She flipped forward a few pages until the image of a broken headband and a bloodied kunai. "His foolishness captured world attention when one day, he decided to challenge a serpent of the seas or a kaiju which is depicted on the book cover. Needless to say, he suffered a tragic end due to his unwise actions and now his name is said throughout the lands as a warning to any who follow in his footsteeps."

Putting the book down, she leaned back in her chair hoping she had gotten the message across. "He died because he did not know his enemy well, the kaiju however could see this was a misguided soul and as such, his battle was made simple for the beast." It was amazing really how much impact your mental mindset could have as Soku tugged at the strings of her cloak tightening it a bit. "So, the myth provides an important life lessson and that is..do not be like Itsuki Kenji. Know yourself, even the slightest underestimation or overestimation can spell a quick end for the most capable shinobi."

She would know, Soku had seen it happen much too often in the previous years. It was only now that Konohgakure was enjoying an era of relative peace, that was not something to be taken lightly. They would savor it while they still could.

Kana listened intently to what her Sennin had talked about. It seemed the older woman was impressed with her answer, which Kana was happy about. Soku went on to talk about knowledge and how that is one of the most dangerous weapons out there, for the main reason of finding out about peoples weaknesses. She was a bit surprised when the woman's right hand tapped the table, making a metallic sound. That's... not normal, the Hyuuga thought to herself, then the next thought was that the Sennin was giving the girl a small insight of what would happen if the enemy knows too much about you.

She went on to talk about the book with the picture of the man fighting a serpent. The man's careless and foolish actions made him known by all, especially when he met his demise fighting the monster. Kana knew all the myths that were on the line of fiction had a lesson to be learned. A spice of harsh reality to remind people that bad things can still happen to them.

"Soku-sama, have you ever met someone that was like Kenji? Also... You said you would be able to determine what kind of person I was by reading my myth that I wrote. So... What do you think?" Kana can't help but have a small bit of admiration for the older woman. Frankly, she was close to what Kana wants to be when she grew up. Made a name for herself, people respect her for who she is, and even as a Sennin, taking time out of her possibly busy day to teach and talk to lower ranking people of her branch.

Soku paused a moment to think about what Kana had said wondering if anyone really fit the bill. Truth be told, there were a lot of people who could have been a very good Itsuki Kenji but their names had faded from memory a long long time ago but yet despite that, there was still one vivid person that stuck in her head probably a bit foolish at first. "Well, yes and actually they're in this village right now as we speak." She smiled to herself as the image of the white-haired female popped into her head full of joy, amusement and perhaps one of her more more remarkable qualities as Soku leaned back in her chair curious to see just how exactly the young genin in front of her would react to this news.

"Uchiha Asuka, the Fifth Hokage." She let it linger in the air to process and tried to predict some of the reactions that might come her way. How could such a capable shinobi be like Itsuki Kenji, it just didn't make sense at first but that was the thing most people failed to grasp. They didn't see what was beyond the title and that everyone had flaws though in this instance, Asuka had fared better than the myth she had told. "Unlike Kenji however, Asuka learned from her foolishness and is one of the most wisest and strongest shinobi this village has had to offer so don't think I mean any her any disrespect." The Sennin said thoughts running through her head of how Asuka would skin her alive if she learned of that little snide remark the woman had maid.

Her eyes scanned Kana deep in thought. Having served in the ANBU for perhaps far too long, it had given her a knack for reading people as she clasped her fingers placing her elbows on the table. "I think.." Soku said letting the sentence trail off as she gathered her thoughts. Kana was interesing, she was not your average run of the mill genin or student and the Sennin decided she liked that. It was always good to get one odd one out of the mix every now and then. "You'll go far in life. You have a fire within you that hasn't been lit yet. It's there but it just needs some encouragement." Soku's hand pointed to her heart closing in a fist as she spoke. "I can see you have a Will of FIre but you just don't know where to look for it."

When Soku-sama spoke of that there was someone in the village as of right now that fits that bill, Kana raised her eyebrows, interested in hearing more. The next bit of information really caught her off guard. Uchiha Asuka. Hokage. It never really dawned on her that someone of a high family status, much less gain the title of Hokage would have a past of being foolish as Kenji from the myths. It was followed by telling the young Hyuuga of how Asuka had learned from her foolishness and became wise and strong.

Kana listened intently to the next bit of information the Sennin put out regarding what she thinks of the girl. A fire inside her but she doesn't know where to look? She might mean the will to want to change how things are but not know where to start. Kana thought about it for a while. In the long run, she wants to be remembered for who she is, not by her clan name. But everything in between? She has no clue where to start or what exactly she would want other than that.

She never really liked asking for help, but Kana felt like maybe this one time could help her think better. Be better. "Soku-sama? Would you help me find out where to look?"

The black-haired women let a smile slip onto her face as Kana made the request of her lifting a palm gesturing to the rows and rows of books around them as if they were supposed to indicate something. "You're already in the right place, Kana. You're in a village that has bore the brunt of many wars, seen many things and nurtured many shinobi each with their own Will of Fire." It was a proud village with milennia of history behind it and a clear message that they were a proud people, gentle in nature but also knew how to take steps forward and the sooner the younger shinobi grasped this concept, a whole lot easier their careers would get as Soku cleared the desk pushing the books she had set out to the side. "So to answer your question, I will help you. That is my duty to you and your peers." A responsbility that didn't seem too complicated on the outside but it required a lot of pieces to fall into place before it could be completed.

With that in mind, she leant forward issuing a stark reminder to the girl making sure she had her attention. "Keep in mind however that the process will not be easy. You will have many obstacles, you may have tragedies, times when you feel utterly defeated but at the end of it all, your Will of Fire is what keeps you going." Only those pure of heart and with the most noble intentions could truly obtain the village concept that Soku preached about and while it may not be a physical thing, she knew given enough time and experience, Kana would learn in time what this woman in front of her was rattling on about. To any normal student, it might have sounded like Soku was just giving some sort of motivational pep talk or something and while to an extent, that was true, as long as it helped them, she would keep doing so.

"I can help you along the way, guide you in the right directions but you must be the one to find it. It is a personal adventure one undertakes. You will know when the time comes." They always did, that moment of realization. For Soku, it had been on her way back from Sunagakure when her life had hung in the balance and all the memories she had made back here had come back flooding to her but she had made it. Her life had been saved and she credited that to the prowess of the Konoha Byoin as well as her sheer will to refuse to become another name of legend without a sword in her hand. "I know I did." The woman said quietly rolling back the sleeve of her right arm a bit so that Kana could see the prosthetic arm she used with all sorts of gears and wires running through it but it was nevertheless a essential part of her now.

"This is what I mean by you have to be prepared to lose anything to find your WIll of Fire."

Even a part of yourself, even your life. Hopefully, it would not come to that though.

Kana listened as Soku spoke. The girl was happy that her Sennin was willing to help her. The woman talked with the sense of all the struggles that she had gone through herself and the Hyuuga wondered how much she has actually has to deal with. Kana wondered what kind of hardships she will run into in the future. And then the woman shown her the prosthetic arm that she had and Kana felt bad for the woman.

Kana nodded. "I won't let you down Soku-sama." She understood what the Sennin wanted of her but the girl doesn't know what to say anymore past that. "So, is there anything you need me to do?"

Soku leant forward to grasp the attention of the younger girl to ensure she was focused on her and nowhere else. Truth was, there were a lot of things the younger generation here was capable of but even the most simple tasks had to be undertake with the utmost precuation, accuracy and preparation as her answer slipped out in a single word. "Yes." Soku said tugging the sleeve of her cloak back over her prostethic arm as if it had never been there. "There is one very simple thing I want you to do, Kana." It was almost as if Soku was about to trust the girl with some important mission, some secret but the truth was, it was nothing glamourous. It was perhaps the same testimonial she had given any other peer of her's but they all held some value so she held strong to those morals.

"I want you to be the best you can, strive to reach the top and find ways which you can contribute to Konohagakure. In this way, you will find that your quest to find your Will of Fire will become a whoel lot more simpler than you have ever imagined."
She stood from her chair gesturing for Kana to do the same picking up the three books and shelving them back where she had found them not too keen to earn the wrath of the librarian. They could be quite the terrifying persona and Soku would rather not explore that particular route as she pushed the piece of parchment towards Kana. "Keep this with you, the self-myth you wrote about yourself should be a stark reminder of what was discussed here today."

A pause and then- "This way, if you ever find yourself in a spot of trouble or feeling like you have to give up, it should remind of what you have sacrificed so far to get that far." With that, the Sennin decided she had gotten her message across well enough smiling at the genin as she rounded the table towards the double doors that allowed one entry into this expansive space of books and tables pushing it open with a single hand turning back to look at her. "Remember those words, stay out of trouble and I trust I'll be seeing more of you very soon." With that, the black-haired kunoichi slipped through the doors the door swinging shut behind her.

Kana listened as the older woman spoke. She told her to be the best that she can ever be. In which the girl had to think about that for a minute. Best she can be... The only thing that comes to Kana's mind is just being herself and staying true to who she is. The girl had always wanted to do things that she had never really imagined doing and she has accomplished much, despite it really isn't much accomplishment.

Her myth that was written on the piece of paper was pushed towards her and was told to keep it, as a reminder of her roots. She picked up the paper and pocketed it, thinking of if there would ever be a time in which her resolve would be shaken enough for her to forget her roots. She hopes that a time like that will never come. She watched as her Sennin got up and leave. Kana sat there in thought for a minute before also taking her leave.
