Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Every warrior's most reliable weapon. Some shinobi prefer to wear weighted gloves or otherwise augment their unarmed fighting to increase its effectiveness. Yasu does not need to do so. Technique and practicality beats flashiness here. Using Idō, a style of fighting the Ōta clan has trained in for hundreds of years, swift punches, vice-like grapples, and powerful kicks are woven together in fluid succession. "Taijutsu" as shinobi call it is a field Yasu excels in, and his prowess in battle even without a weapon shows just that.

Some would have you believe that the development of increasingly powerful jutsu render projectiles obsolete...but you will find no such claims coming from the Ōta. Fundamentals are essential, and knowing how to properly handle a shuriken could mean the difference between life and death. Yasu makes particularly effective use of his ninja tools with the help of Sagasu, a ranged martial art known by the Ōta clan. Using this he can even ricochet projectiles off of each other in order to hit targets that would be otherwise out of range. The training that every male member of his clan is forced to undergo has made him a deadly threat with even a single throwing star.

Ambidexterity(Learning)
Everyone favors a side. Even those who claim to be completely ambidextrous use one hand more than the other. But learning how to effectively fight with both is what sets them apart from most. Yasu grew up being subjected to the same training regimen his clan has used for hundreds of years. It was the same his father endured. And the same both of his brothers had. One part of that training was forcing him to use his non-dominant hand to spar for extended periods of time. Yasu's no prodigy so it took him quite a while to get the hang of it. He hated the process of training his left hand. But now that he's older and is able to switch grips on the fly thanks to it? He's learned to appreciate the training.

Weapon Attunement(Learning)
Bukijutsu. The art of fighting with weapons. Another aspect of that grueling training regimen was learning how to fight with a multitude of weapons. Shuriken, kunai, swords, lances, bows, sickles, and staves. At some point or another, Yasu was trained in the usage of all of these. Like anyone, he took to certain weapons more than others. No one can be amazing at everything, but they can be great at some things. Notably, Yasu is adept at hand-to-hand combat at shurikenjutsu. His technique it close-quarters is impeccable, and he is just as much of a threat at range with his projectiles. Combine his excellent Taijutsu skills at both short and long ranges with his Ninjutsu to cover mid-range? And you have a recipe for one scary combatant.

Jutsu Expansion(Learning)
To push a jutsu past its limts is a dangerous and oftentimes reckless think to do. If the proper amount of control isn't maintained over the chakra, the entire technique has the possibility to explode in your face. Luckily, Yasu set aside some time to practice this risky feat. After some intense training at the Ōta estate, he was able to push the Fireball Jutsu past its defined limits. Pumping more chakra into it than usual and exerting even more control over the mass of superheated flames, he was able to produce a wildfire greater than any D-rank technique had the right to do. Upon closer inspection, the sheer power and destructive ability it gained was enough to bump his particular usage of it up by an entire rank. Yasu has since been able to do the same thing to most of the jutsu in his arsenal.

Quickdraw(Learning)
Drawing a weapon faster than others? No, Yasu can't do that. He's no sleight of hand expert and he doesn't claim to be. Instead, he's come up with a method that negates the need to carry weapons all together. It took him a bit, but eventually he was able to come up with a sealing jutsu formula that allows him to summon his arms to him whenever he has need. It's a two-way technique, and he can send weapons back just as easily as he draws them out. As a result, this allows him to employ high-speed weapon switching in the midst of combat. Not needing to lug around an armory along with the unpredictability this method creates makes one hell of an overwhelming offense.

Stalker(Learning)
Now this was not something he learned from his father. The Ōta have always been a clan of warriors, not identifying as shinobi and forgoing the stealthy way of most ninja. But upon joining Konohagakure's ANBU Corps., Yasu was forced to undergo training in stealth tactics. Like most everything else, he was not a natural at first. And it took him weeks of training to be able to tail someone without being spotted. But eventually he sharpened his skills in espionage. Now part of his job, Yasu is adept at remaining out of sight while keeping an eye on his target. Unless someone is unusually observant, can sense presences, or has access to the Byakugan? He is a ghost.

Called Shot(Learning)
Targeted attacks are an important part of any fighting style. Yasu takes this idea a step further. Sparring endlessly with your older brother has its advantages it seems. Under the supervision of their father, he made sure that both of his sons learned how to inflict the most damage on an opponent and where the best location to attack was. Combine this with making them study the anatomy of humans, and you have someone who is capable of completely debilitating their foe. In combat he can take apart an enemy piece-by-piece if necessary. An ability that has many different uses.

Defensive Technique(Learning)
The best offense is a good defense right? Well...kinda. Being skilled in hand-to-hand combat means knowing how to block and weave around attacks properly. Countering your opponents attempts at inflicting damage is just as important as doing damage of your own. Yasu is particularly skilled at dodging and parrying blows. Whether it's intercepting an incoming blade with one of his own or swatting away barrages of punches, his ability to defend against attacks is superb. Sometimes is best to bide your time and wait for the perfect opportunity to counterattack rather than going on an all-out offensive. You know...sometimes.

Duelist(Learning)
One-on-one combat is almost guaranteed at some point in the life of a warrior. Ever since he was a child Yasu has been sparring with his older brother Tōsō. Over the many years they've trained together the two have learned just about every intricacy there is to know when it comes to dueling. How best to focus on your opponent, how to observe them for potential weaknesses and how to exploit those to your maximum benefit. Bigger battles are far more chaotic and random, but when it comes to single combat? Yasu has about all the training someone could have.

Jutsu Mastery(Learning)
Chakra reserves have never been something Yasu has had in abundance. He can't constantly spam high level jutsu without feeling the effects like some shinobi can apparently do. But economizing what chakra he does have is something he has gotten down to an art. Yasu's constant training has paid off, and he can now effectively cast techniques using less chakra than someone else would need to. With extremely fine control of his chakra, he is able to produce a jutsu with the same effects without expending too much. So no his chakra is not endless...but he uses the reserves he has to their fullest potential.

Endless Arsenal
weaponpic2_zpsuyynecpy.png

A seemingly (but not really...) limitless supply of bladed weapons of all shapes, sizes, and makes. Using his Summoning: Infinite Blade Dance (口寄せ・無限刃踊り) Yasu can call forth and switch out any of the blades at his leisure. The Ōta maintain a healthy armory of weapons at the clan estate. By scribing a summoning jutsu formula onto a pair of bracers, gloves, or even a simple scroll, Yasu can instantly materialize any of the weapons into his hand. Most of the blades are common katana or tachi, though there are a number of specialized weapons that he can summon. Like Nokogiri, a saw-toothed shortsword crafted to catch and break other blades. Or Hata, a giant two-handed blade with no edge that is made to crush its targets. The speed at which he can swap out his weapons is enough to keep up with most Quickdraw artists.

Yes! Though I've been informed that purchasing of Augments is to be done here in the Dojo...so I suppose I'll start doing that from now on if that's the case.

Dual Weapon x2, Free Flow, Vanguard, and Steady were purchased here: ---> https://www.ninpocho.com/viewtopic.php?p=255870#p255870.

Wired, Blitz, and Trick Weapon were purchased here: ---> https://www.ninpocho.com/viewtopic.php?p=257028#p257028.

Free Flow, Siege, Steady were attempted to be purchased - but if we have to buy Augments here then I would like to buy those three right now in this post- here: ---> https://www.ninpocho.com/viewtopic.php?p=258859#p258859
