[Tatsuo]

Tatsuo quickly formed a flurry of hand signs before sending off a giant spiral of wood capable of piercing through steel. Unfortunately for him Otome was on top of her game now and she wasn't going to be hit so easily. After she dodged Tatsuo grunted getting ready for his second attack before she used a two slash combo hitting him. The damage was light, but it still was there. He could feel pain in the points he was struck and then he lifted his arm, shooting out five wooden tendrils in the direction of Otome. He could feel his chakra reserves getting low, he couldn't afford to just keep firing off Jutsu like this so he'd really need to finish this fast. Luckily three of his strikes connected but Otome followed up with a slash similar to the last one. This one hurt much more than the last, it cut deeper and stung more. It cut through his armor and left a sizable gap in it. Tatuso realized he couldn't afford to give up his defense against such a competent opponent. Getting himself into a defensive stance, ready for anything she might throw at him.

Otome smiled weakly as her right arm began to tremble from the loss of blood. Although three of four of her strikes had managed to connect against her opponent--thus renewing her surge of adrenaline--she knew very well that she could not keep fighting for long without lasting repercussions.

"You won this time, kid," she admitted defeat before going on the offensive once more. "But trust me when I say it won't be so easy the next time!"

[Tatsuo]

Tatuso's readiness to battle ended as quickly as it appeared. During his last bout with Otome he finally found his ball! The small red rubber ball peaked from one of the holes nearby. "Oh my ball!" he said running over to, as Otome tried to strike him he bent down to grab it, unintentionally dodging her strikes. Tatsuo's face filled with a huge grin as he lifted his ball into the air. Happy to have finally found it, as it was his whole intention for being down. After pocketing the ball, he remembered he was still in a fight after all and probably should finish this. "Alright, let's end this!" the boy said sprinting forward to finish this fight.

 

[Ginyama Senshiro]

Otome blinked as the Leaf shinobi unearthed his red ball during her onslaught. She just couldn't believe that the boy was indeed only looking for his toy all along.

"W-what?" she asked, stunned by how his tenacity and intensity in battle had faded away upon finding his objective. She simply stood there silently, the doubt from earlier filling her with dread about her own shortcomings, both as a soldier and as a person. With a sigh she closed her eyes before glaring directly at Tatsuo, tears welling in her eyes.

"No . . . I won't give up!" the Butcher of Kumogakure declared before readying her blade once more. "I may be going down soon, but kid I'm going down swinging!"

The girl sure was stubborn, Tatsuo noted as he went to charge her to finally finish this. Opting to use Taijutsu as he was beginning to run on fumes as it came to chakra. The moment he would reach melee range with her, he would lower himself aiming to hit her with a low kick to her feet to knock her off her feet. Preferably, keeping her there after he would do so.

Otome's eyes widened as the boy charged towards her. With what little tenacity that she had remaining, she stooped down and parried the boy's kick to her her feet with the flat of her blade.

"See? . . . " she noted openly as she staggered back to a standing position, her breath ragged and her stance sloppy. "I . . . I'm still . . . standing. . . . "

Unfortunately, as though hexed by her very own words, she collapsed flat onto the ground, facedown in a pool of blood--mostly her own. The Leaf-nin seemed to be the superior combatant. The barbs from her blade's hilt retracted back, releasing its vicious bite on her as she unintentionally let go of the weapon.

"You disappoint us, Otome. . . . " the spirits within her blade silently sang as the kunoichi reflexively squirmed in her unconscious state.

"I don't give a shit!" she yelled back in her mind. Somehow, she felt that there was more than just these two spirits haunting her as familiar faces began to sneer and jeer at her. "Get away!"

How Tatsuo would react to the writhing mess that laid before him was up to his discretion.
