General Description
With short, dark hair, black eyes and average height Shikao does not stand out much in the street. However, it changes once he jumps into a swimming pool, because wearing just trunks reveals his extra ordinary musculature sculptured by years of training in water. General Description
Shikao has good Big Brother personality, he loves to help and take care of others as well as play with younger than him. He also bonds with people quickly and prefers to make friends than enemies. Although, when someone becomes truly important to him, he might be over-protective of them. But on the other hand, he is bit hard to get to know well, because he tries to be self-reliant as much as possibe and does not like to share his problems with even the closest friends. However, he is very loyal to long-term and tried relationships.
History
Born as first into new generation of Wakabayashi clan, Shikao ended as Big Brother not only for his younger siblings, but also cousins, nieces and nephews. Although he wasn't first child to his parents, there was big gap between him and his older siblings and thus they were more like aunts and uncles rather than sisters and brothers. In fact, his sister Ayame was pregnant with one of his nephews at the time of his birth and clan in general was experiencing a baby boom for couple of years afterwards, which has ended only three years ago.Wakabayashi clan owns a block of flats where most of clansmen lives in, so usually all children are brought up together by whole extended family. Therefore, even in case of both parents dying on a mission, no kid ever becomes truly orphan in the clan. Baby-sitting job normally falls to those members who are currently at home, however, due to boom it was quite tiresome endavor. Thus it was quickly expected of Shikao to always behave properly as example for the younger children and not much later to generally help with their upbringing. And that is how he became the Big Brother for the youngest generation of Wakabayashi clan.
Being brother/cousin/uncle, nanny, pacifier, protector, teacher and comforter, often all at once, had profound effect on how he grew up. First and foremost, he is more mature than most of kids as his age, which came from taking care of others and solving their problems. Secondly, he is very protective of people he cares about, for now it's only his clan members, both younger and adults, but it will surely change once enters Academy. He also learnt to hide his problems from others and solve them by himself, because he couldn't burden his younger clansmen with them.
Probably most important day in Shikao's life was at the age of three when his great uncle Tobirama took him for the first time to a swimming pool. He enjoyed being in water since his initial submergence. Hours later when they were going home, the boy was already able to keep himself afloat and even paddle around a bit. He liked it so much, he made Tobirama take him to pools again and again, thus after couple of months he was swimming swiftly. Once Shikao was old enough to go to pool by himself, he started spending even more time there. Thanks to him all kids in Wakabayashi clan as well as couple adults knows how to swim, because he took them with him and taught them, although only part of them enjoys it. After the years of training, his build became very athletic and in water he feels like fish in... well, water.
Spending his whole childhood with almost only other members of clan he is now very excited about going into Academy, meeting non-relatives peers and making friends.
At Academy it turns out that he is doing decently with ninja tools. Although, slashing with kunai comes easier to him than throwing it. The class he really enjoys is ninjutsu. Not only he fares better than in other classes, but for him it is what truly differs a shinobi from normal citizens. After all anyone can learn to throw sharp objects at target, but manipulating energy to perform remarkable feats is reserved to ninjas. However, the true revelation comes when they move towards bit more advanced techniques, ones requiring elemental transformation. When it is time for Suiton, Shikao manages to successfully perform almost all jutsus at first attempt. His aim with Water Release techniques is better than other students and usually he can keep making them longer.
He graduates from the Academy without problems, earns his forehead protector and becomes genin. Unfortunately his next step in shinobi career does not go so smoothly. During his first chuunin exam he chooses to protect one of his teammates over using an occasion to complete the goal, which ultimately results in both of them failing. However, next year the exam has a very different formula and this time Shikao passes with flying colours. He performs dutifully all missions and tasks assigned to him by Konoha Corporation for over two years, when finally his skills and work is appreciated and he receives long-awaited promotion to rank of jounin.
