Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

[col]Her smile was thin and waning as she looked upon her client. She had no time for his ceaseless prattling but she had to be polite, professional. After all, that was one of the reasons she was often chosen over other mercenaries. The doctor had proven qualified, skilled and, more importantly (to pompous fools such as the one in front of her), respectful unlike other shinobi who would sooner cut their client's fingers off than be civil.

Still, she couldn't help it as she clenched her fists under the table, expressing what she didn't on her face. Thousands of ways to kill this man flashed through her head. Thousands of ways to kill him with her fingers alone. But she only needed to be paid before she left.

She startled at her own dark thoughts. To kill for money, her own client no less... It's been a tiring few days. One thing after the other, she's been swept up in a maelstrom of activity in Sand. Surely, she could have denied some of the contracts offered to her. But that meant missed opportunities: to prove herself and to be paid. The mercenary had taken one assignment after another (granted they did not break her non interference and non competition clause).

But, sometimes, she wondered when money became her number one priority. It was obscene. Almost as if Yen became her worship, for however agnostic she was. She needed the money though, they needed the money back home. Communications had been sparse, few and far in between, with her clinic back on Hashima Island. It would be possible that her doctors were overworked and had no time for missives. And, if that was the case, she would make sure they were not underpaid and that they had all the best equipment and supplies money could buy. How much money has she sent by now? A hundred thousand? Not enough... medical wares were expensive and that much could barely buy a month's worth of pills for her patients.

No rest for the wicked, as the overly used saying... well, said.

"You did a good job, Nanami-chan," the man finally smiled at her, handing over an envelope with her commission money. The doctor had to bite her tongue before she could correct him: Mizushima-hakase, not Nanami-chan. Instead, she only gave him a curt nod and her business card, in case he was in need of her services again. Hopefully not. Her patience had ran so thin that, as soon as the money was in hand, she disappeared.

The woman reappeared on a rooftop, a few blocks away. A hasty exit, more than anything, and she was quick to slip her payroll into her pocket. A yellow lollipop, lemon, quickly took its place and she popped it into her mouth. Better a lolly addiction, rather than a tobacco one... At least, chakra usage could erase the damage wrought on by too much sugar intake, as opposed to lung cancer.

She sighed: "I need a damn break."
