Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Training the kine was something that Midori had always wanted to do. Not only did it give her something else to do but it was also refreshing to see a new face now and again. For this, she decided to have a sort of shadow day where Midori would be showing a young person how to dispose of the bodies of fallen Shinobi. Cremation is one of the most effective ways to ensure that the corpse won't be used for any mischief. In a world where people's bodies can be weaponized and that people can rise from the dead to fulfill the will of the wicked; it was Midori's job to make sure that no Kumogakure shinobi ends up being some tool for the undeserving.

It was a thankless job and Midori was well aware of it but it was a responsibility and one that shouldn't be taken lightly. Midori was standing in front of Aesculapium, waiting for her student to arrive. The vividly opaque walls and sterile air obliterates all notions that the now advanced and universally respected Hospital was once a very morbid asylum that specialized with lost hikers of the Ancient Forest and their incurable insanity. The skies were cloudy and gray as the ravens flew overhead.

Midori's presence there only made the scenery more ominous. Standing roughly around 9'2, the massive woman wore a white sundress which looks to be custom made to fit around a person her size though the dress material seems to be cut so thick that it could remind people of a large curtain… A really, really, really, really- really large curtain. Pinned to the side of her dress was a large black silk pin that looked to be a black flower, she also wears large black silk gloves and black easy slip-on loafer that are made of this shiny leather for easy walking since heels are a killer on your feet. As she waited there, she wore her usual smile to seem friendly and non-threatening like she always has done. Midori always smiled in a way that seemed to be friendly; it was an easily seen mask to show that she meant no ill will towards anyone since her encounters with people usually go like this… People see her, they get scared, Midori proves that she is nice, then everything is normal for the most part. Sometimes there are folks who go from shock to acceptance but from her many encounters with people, Midori knows well enough to at least prove that she was trustworthy. Otherwise how could she be a medical nin?

Saki left home without her puppets for once- though she wouldn’t normally be one to risk leaving the house unarmed, even in a village that she hadn’t considered hostile for more than 4 years, her deadly creations were currently drying from a fresh coat of paint. Besides, she assumed she’d be fine. While she didn’t usually need a weapon or anything, where she was going today she most certainly would not.

She strolled up to the entrance of the Aesculapium, identified as such by the towering figure that stood nearby. Saki had heard plenty about Ms. Futotta, head of the village’s medical department- she had investigated the branch as much as she could when she first landed in Kumogakure, on the chance that her idiotic caravan had somehow gotten themselves hospitalized or murdered. After she found nothing and disregarded the branch for a while, though, she heard stories and rumors from her adopted siblings about the nine-foot-lady. She personally hadn’t seen much of the woman herself- supposedly that would change today.

The AiT greeted her with a wave and a self-amused grin once she was in plain sight. Looking nearly straight up, she trilled, “Hello there, my name is Umetsu Saki! It’s an honor to meet you, madam.” She was there for a brief little internship; she’d expressed interest after hearing that the subject was corpse disposal. A very useful ANBU skill indeed, not to mention its applications in a certain interesting area that she was disinclined to speak about. “Looking forward to an exciting day! Cremation is a passion of mine, you see. Also, let me just say, I’m glad to see that my friends were wrong- I think I am more than half your height.” She did want to leave an impression, not really caring whether it was an odd one or not; as long as the Sennin could put her name to a face later, in case she needed more lessons on medical jutsu themselves. In case something were to… happen.

The young mortal approached Midori, seemingly excited for the lesson planned here today. Looking down at the teen, the sennin politely greeted her new pupil. "Und it is ein pleasure to have met vu too, Zaki. I azure vu zat zee lezzon in vich I haffe planned vill be enjoyable." Midori said in a rather heavy accent that gave off the impression that she wasn't born in a lightning country at all. Her smile showed that she was seemingly excited to get to the lesson despite the lesson plan being a rather grim one. "My, my und on zuch a beautiful day no? Pleaze follow me, Zaki. I schall escort vu to zee morgue to meet one of zee staff members vithin zat debartment." With that she spun around and ducked underneath the tiny doorway to enter inside of the hospital.

Unlike the doorways, the ceilings were elevated just a tad to be more giant friendly. Though the hospital did seem much larger now, the scenery remained the same as it had been back when this hospital used to be an asylum to treat the mentality crippled. The walls have this weird clash of sickly green lighting, sky blue walls, a white ceiling and a grey marble floor that had that shine to it reflected by the light. The air was cold, Saki could see the nurses and doctors moving around all just doing their job to save lives. Midori lumbered past the long hall, gesturing for the young students to follow her to the staircase in which they would make their descent into the basement where the morgue was located.

Needless to say when Midori and Saki finally came to the floor where the morgue was, it wasn't as busy. It was just a long empty hallway in which Midori and Saki would have to walk through. Just halfway through the walk, Midori stopped at the large two-way door to peek through the window just to see if her staff was working. "Ahh… here ve are." She said before opening the door, ducking under the doorway to enter the morgue before greeting the man who was preparing a body for cremation. The embalmer was in fact not a pleasant looking fellow. In fact he kinda reminded you of a Nosferatu since he shares all the characteristics of Count Orlok. He was completely bald, no hair nor eyebrows with these long pointy ears, massive sharp fangs and really long fingers. His skin was also sickly gray with bluish veins bulging around his head and he looked sweaty too. Clad in all black, the hideous man turned revealing his revolting looks in all its glory under the sickly green light.

"My, my. Who do we have here? Is she a visitor?" said the ugly man, moving over to meet the two, hands clasped together. Midori happily greets the man, deciding to be the one to introduce them to one another. "Yes, sche's here to learn about cremation first hand und hov ve handle our deceazed. Zaki, zis is Tenma und vu'll pe schadoving him for today." Midori said, standing back to simply supervise as the repulsive man looked at Saki.

The towering Sennin returned her greeting in a very thick accent- she didn’t bat an eye at Saki’s feigned eccentricities, which gave her extra points in her book. From what she could tell, Midori seemed cheerful about the lesson, too, at least on some level. Not that she expected the Medical Sennin of a lovely place like Kumo to dislike the notion of cremation; more that she didn’t sound bored of having a kid follow her around already. Once she had ducked inside, Saki followed her, tilting her head to take in the interior of the building.

The ceiling stretched a bit higher than most, likely as an accommodation, and while the place might have benefitted from a more appropriate choice of wall color, she appreciated the cooler air and spotless marble floors. Saki followed her tutor down a steep staircase to emerge into the morgue proper, a long empty hallway with a more lifeless atmosphere than upstairs (how fitting). She gazed around at the features of the hallway, peering through any of the windows she could reach, all while she pieced together a map of the building in her head. It was an old habit that she hadn’t needed for a while now, but as a new ANBU-in-training it would be unwise to get rid of it.

The Sennin pushed open one of the doors about halfway down the hallway before crouching inside once more. Entering the room after, Saki was met with a particular smell; they had reached the heart of the morgue, complete with a body being readied for cremation. The hairless embalmer turned to greet Midori as they entered the room. His ears, teeth, and fingers were pointed, with pale skin and a sickly demeanor; he might have looked better in the sunlight, but the greenish hue of this basement wasn’t doing his appearance any favors.

The towering woman introduced them merrily. “It’s wonderful to meet you, sir,” Saki responded with a wide grin. “Just point me to an appendage and tell me what to do!” Eerie as the mood of the morgue was, she couldn’t help but feel excited, like she was about to learn some forbidden art. These were useful skills, after all.

The embalmer nodded with a toothy smile. Midori was almost relieved to see that the child didn't instantly freak out when seeing the man. Hideous as he was, Tenma was more or less harmless but his monstrous appearance didn't help too much with his social life. Tenma chuckled, then gestured for the Saki to approach him to the victim that laid dead on an operation table. Taking the report from the tool cart, Tenma began reading it out loud so the child would at least get to know the victim. "So I guess I'll introduce you to the last person in the room, this is the deceased but his name was Kiso." he said gesturing towards the body.

From what it seemed, the victim looked to have been dead for about a week now. There also appeared to be no physical marks on the body save for a few bruises here and there which could've come from possibly attempting to flee; but from what? Getting the report that he had prepared for the anbu when they came to investigate the death of poor Kiso, Tenma began to read the report to himself. Restarting up the recording of his work. "As I was stating before, the victim received no marks or wounds. However, Anbu reports suggested foul play so I think we are gonna have to check one final thing." Tenma said, putting the report down before looking at Saki.

"Okay Saki, now here's what you can do for me right now. You see the circle around the deceased head?" The hideous embalmer pointed at the black circle around the deceased head that had been in marker. "If you can, could you cut his hair down to that line. Think we are going to have to examine the brain and I need to see where to cut." A simple enough task, just shave the man bald of course as he continued to examine the report in his hands. Midori standing there silent kept watch as Tenma read the report again, already having a theory of what the cause of death could've been but saving it for when they opened up the head. If everything was normal and there was no sign of foul play, then everything was set but if not then they may have to report back to the Anbu just in case they want to investigate this death further before cremating the body.
