Kani laid in the hospital bed still receiving fluids and breathing treatments, they monitored her for infection as was protocol but more than that the main concern was her mental state. Kani had not spoken since the incident, and she shut off almost completely when she heard Sumi had also left. One thing after another left her scrambling to just feel normal again, and who could blame her given her current state. Where her arm was once, there was now a wrapping around her shoulder, a sad reminder that it took more than a happy face and will to be a shinobi. She had let Sumi get hurt, her friend, the girl whose name was circled in her journal with hearts around it, was beaten to a pulp, lost her arm, and now.. was alone again.
