[Hirateuchi]

Hira began to pant, as it seemed the fight would remain at a standstill for all eternity, two souls of equal passion and vigor clashing beneath the trees consumed only by shadow and the screams of the two fighters. Hira readied himself for a long and drawn out combat, with his ideas of how to win slimming by the moment, and it seemed as if Tatsuo was planning on being a decisive winner in this game of attrition.

Hira continued to miss attack after attack as Tatsuo began so land some of the first meaningful blows of the match, followed by making a wooden creation to do more of the dirty work for him. It would take more than pure power to overcome this opponent, Hira began to ponder to himself as he noticed how large of an army Tatsuo was beginning to muster.

[Tatsuo]

Tatsuo rushed again with his melee combo, he was going to have to break Hira's will to battle and the only way to do that was to bloody and bruise him. Normally Tatsuo would never fight with such intensity with a friend but to do anything less than his best would be an insult to Hira. If this was someone he had just met he would playfully attack have fun with it, but this one of his best friends and a fellow member of the Blazing Spirit. To give anything less than one hundred percent would be an insult. "You can give up at any time Hira!" he shouted as he dashed closer to melee range with him, striking him four times in the chest. Twice hard enough to knock the air out of him but Hira wasn't going to take such abuse without offering a reaction to it. As he went in for another strike Hira sent a giant waterfall crashing down at both Tatsuo and his clone. With his defensive stance and being lighter than usual due to his lightened root technique Tatsuo was able to dodge it with ease but his clone was starting to get low. Firing off a wall to block the water from hitting him, which gave his clone enough time to get out of dodge.

Flying back into the fray, Tatsuo followed up with another similar melee combo this time not striking as hard, but nothing to scoff at. Slowly but surely he was getting some damage onto Hira even if this fight was going to push both of them to their absolute limits. In reaction to his own combo Hira threw a projectile at him in which Tatsuo's wooden armor grew out to meet, throwing it off course. And then Hira dodged another one of his Tree Golem's attacks but Hira was now on the offensive, strike after strike Tatsuo was able to dodge one before being hit with a hard double combo. Luckily his wooden armor took the blunt of the blow growing back into his defense. During all this Tatsuo's clone fired off a wooden dragon bind in which Hira avoided but before he knew it the Tree Golem had slammed a punch into him, but failing to inflict any further damage.

 

[Hirateuchi]

The two shinobi threw strike after strike at each other, each in an attempt to whittle down the defenses of the other in what would surely be a drawn-out war of two heated souls. Each time Hira would throw one of his blades out, Tatsuo would deflect it with his armor and come in for another hit. He was starting land some blows and the tides were indeed beginning to turn. Hira scoffed as he looked at his opponent, presumably full of himself under the tank he had built over his body, but he also wasn't holding back.

"Good! It's about time you start taking this seriously. But you know, by the end of this night, you're going to be buying us both food!"

EDIT: Both Tatsuo and Hirateuchi have agreed to call it a draw and end the fight, this concludes this mod.

 

[Tatsuo]

After missing all of his Rasengan's, Tatsuo had a moment of clarity. What exactly what was he doing? Yeah they were fighting as rivals, to help eachother grow, but this.. both of them were fighting as if they were aiming to kill. He would stop in the middle of combat, jumping back quite a few feet. He raised his hands in the air and noticed just how bad he ha gotten Hira to bleed. Impressed by his rivals tenacity, but it wasn't worth it. The strength difference between the two was too slight to give either the edge needed to win. At least not without damaging their own bodies incredibly. Part of being a Chuunin was knowing your limits.

"Hira! We should stop this. You're bleeding." he said as he formed a hand seal, his tree golem fell over. While it still had the unique looking limbs it was nothing more than a normal tree now. "I'm serious, this fight isn't worth it. We both learned exactly what we already knew. Neither of us is just going to give up no matter how tough things get. And that's what's going to make us the best of the best. Hopefully i'll just miss less when we get there." he said with a cheeky smile. "And maybe you'll actually manage to hit through my armor." he said as it began to grow back into his body. "I'll buy your lunch and how about you buy mine? That way we both win."

 

[Hirateuchi]

Hira looked down at his body as Tatsuo backed off, only then realizing what he had meant. In the heat of combat, he had not even noticed the wounds he was accumulating, which in and of itself was a scary thought.

I'm going to have to be more careful to watch my own condition from now on...

"Yeah, I'm fine with calling it. I wouldn't want you to trip over another one of your own moves and hurt yourself."

Hira chuckled at his last comment, still feeling at least a little bit competitive even as he leaned over to apply some soothing waters to his wounds. He was somewhat upset that the battle had ended in a tie. While he hadn't much experience with fighting, his few attempts would prove to be a source of frustration to him as he wondered whether or not he would ever truly win. Still, it was nice having a friend like Tatsuo to be able to fight full force with and still laugh by the end of it.
