Creaking throughout the house. Creaking as Mitsuha was fixing one of her puppets. Day in, and day out, it has been the same ever since she was made a human puppet. Do missions, fix puppets, simply exist, maybe even meet up with old friends. But no emotions at all. Such a thing would drive a normal person insane but to Mitsuha, who has lost her humanity, it became an endless repetitive unchanging life. The days all blurred together, even the ones that would seem important to her. Meeting a large group of her friends, nothing. A long talk with someone at Hokage Rock, nothing. Even taking on a mission to cure all of Leaf Village of a sickness and gaining Head Jounin rank once more, nothing but a part of the blur for her.
Of course there are days in which she would actually feel something. Strong emotions, whether they be positive or negative. But even so, they would be fleeting. Miniscule and only lasting a few seconds. But there was one day that stuck out to her. She was frequenting a workshop that had a radio on. What was being broadcasted on the radio had stopped her in her tracks.
It talked about how it's been a couple of years since the murder of her parents. Talked of how they used to be, and despite their attitudes and work ethics, they still loved their daughter to the very end, with new evidence that says that they were even tortured before eventually killed because they wouldn't give up their daughter. She stood there, frozen in shock. Shock...? Yes.... That's what she's feeling now. She looked down at her own hands. They were tortured and killed.... And whilst she did eventually get her revenge for them, she lost her humanity in the process... They would have wanted her to live. But not like this. She clenched her fists, seemingly aware for the first time in the longest time. But she doesn't know how long this will last.... And it.... scares her.....
She would waste no time. She hit the library, trying to find solutions. She was in there for hours, looking for something, but only could find mentions of dark things like taking over another's body or making a homunculus. The thought of taking over some else's body didn't sit right to her, but the idea of making a homunculus body and inhabiting that could work. Making her way to Crater City and into the black market area, the place was still under construction from a rogue ninja "helping" Leaf out by taking out some people who had it out for Leaf, along with the entirety of the black market. There were some looks and glances cast her way, but she didn't go too far in and just grabbed a book on making homunculi.
Making it back to her place, she read the book from cover to cover and over again, making sure that she understands every bit of it that she can.
