Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Kahako sat at her desk in the Aesculapium as she wrote various notes, reports, and letters about her work. Finally. she was given approval to approach the ANBU Sennin alone in hopes to strengthen the Sentou Henkan’s relationship with the newest leader and the branch as a whole. Her duties to her family had pulled her away from enhancing the division as she saw fit. This task would linger over her head no more.

Ending the final sentence, Kahako read over her elegant script one last time before closing it in an envelope and applying her family’s seal. Once she sure it was secure, she called a city messenger to deliver it straight to the ANBU Sennin’s office.
Letter said:
Matsuura-sama,

I do hope this letter finds you well. With all that has occurred as of late, I do believe we have not had the pleasure of making an acquaintance of each other. My name is Shinrya Kahako, leader of the Sentou Henkan division of the Medical Branch.

As you already know, the Sentou are here for the specific reason of ensuring the survivability of members in your branch whilst maintaining an appropriate amount of discretion that ANBU need in the field. As such, I request your audience to discuss the future of my division and how we can assist your vision of your branch.

Sincerely,

Shinrya Kahako
Medical Chief, Leader of the Sentou Henkan and Head of Medical Combat, Second-in-Command of the Medical Branch

Edited to fix crappy format and picture. All writing was not touched.

The Chief had been granted special privileges that day to be able to be allowed anywhere inside of the Sileo. Along with that, two ANBU escorted her to the office, and only the office of the ANBU sennin. Based on her letter, she knew his name which was frustrating. But humans were not without fault, and even his lovely super soldiers had loose tongues from time to time. So, he would be having a meeting without his mask on for the first time in a long time. It would likely be a relief to breath normally while speaking on an official matter. So he waited, passively doing some paperwork until she arrived.

Once she was delivered via escort, he would stand and do the traditionally bowing that was expected before sitting back down. He motioned for her to take a seat as well. He looked down at her letter and spoke. "Shinrya Kahako. Medical Chief, Leader of the Sentou Henkan and Head of Medical Combat, Second-in-Command of the Medical Branch. You are here today to discuss the Sentou Henkan." he paused, sliding forward a short rendition of the requirements he had modified for the ANBU.
Physical Requirements
  • Have 20/20 vision or better, no color blindness
  • Must pass a hearing exam
  • No disabilities or physical ailments of any kind
  • Must pass an athletics exam in the top 35th percentile
  • Clean EKG and Blood Pressure test results are a must

Note: Exceptions can be made for those with specific Kekkai Genkai

Psychological Standards
  • No debilitating phobias
  • No history of mental illness of any kind
  • Clean Psych and Personality exam results are a must
  • No disabilities or psychological ailments of any kind
  • Must pass an aptitude examination in the top 35th percentile

"As you can see, I took the initiative to draw up a draft of what I am more or less looking for from your division. I do not expect your medics to be on par with the ANBU, nor do I wish to hold them to the strict rules I have recently instated. But, if they have any hope of keeping up with the ANBU, then these are what they need to strive for. Like the ANBU are the elite of the village, those of your division should be the elite of the Medical Branch." he finished. It was clear that he had prepared for the meeting. But this was more or less details that didn't really need discussing, he just wanted to be clear that he didn't have lazy asses who would just get in the way while fighting the worst threats imaginable.

After the proper greetings and both were seated, Kahako smirked as Nobuyuki announced her by her full title. “For a Medical Chief, it is amusing how little control I have over what is printed on my own letterheads, no?” She said as she reached for the piece of paper he slid across his desk. She listened to the ANBU sennin while scanning the list.

“All of this is quite understandable. Fortunately, a good majority of these requirements are innate traits to my mednin, as I can’t allow the mentally unstable or the unintelligent working on human lives,” Folding the paper, she unlocked a leather portfolio she brought with her with a little of her chakra and slipped the paperwork in a folder for her own future reference. “But I was thinking on extending the requirements of the Sentou more than what you have here.” In the same motion, she pulled her own list and passed it to him.
Requirements of the Sentou Henkan said:
All Sentou members MUST obtain the following before going on any ANBU-related missions:
-Mask Summon Jutsu
-Snapshot Jutsu
-Medical Combat Specialization
-1 ANBU class

For any ANBU mission above C rank*, additional requirements are as follows:
-Active Camo Jutsu
-Medical Combat Specialization (Experienced or Mastered)
-Chakra Sense Jutsu OR Mental Infiltration

*It is strongly recommended that members of the Sentou Henkan posses all of the above jutsu, and be of master level in medical combat before proceeding with an S-rank ANBU mission.
“Since more often than not your members are on covert operations, I seriously doubt you would be appreciative if their cover was blown simply because the mednin accompanying them did not have the same level of stealth that the ANBU have.” Kahako shifted slightly in her chair as she crossed her legs at the ankle. “Simply put, my members are not there to impede or directly assist on whatever mission your ANBU are on. I believe to do so would move too far into your jurisdiction. Their sole mission is to ensure the ANBU operatives survive under the harshest conditions known to man. As such, they need to be as invisible as possible.

“To acquire this, I suggest at least one ANBU class in their training regimen, along with having the most basic of ANBU jutsu. This so they can roughly understand ANBU tactics and further develop their medical abilities while in combat.”

Kahako waited for Nobuyuki’s response. She knew this level of visibility was asking a lot from the secretive organization. Maybe even more than he was willing to give.

She seemed pleased with what he had presented, but even came more prepared than he had. So not every Shinrya was as loathsome as the one who lead their clan. This was a welcomed relief. Kahako would be one the few outside of the branch to see his smile.

He watched as she presented her own set of regulation regarding the branch that she leaded. It was comprehensive, and Nobuyuki read it with great interest. Of course, most of the jutsu required to learn would require that ANBU class, but that's what it was there for! He was pleased to say the least.

"You surprise me Shinrya-san. I did not think that this meeting would start so well." he began, placing her own list on the desk between them. "I will agree to these stipulations as well as my own, and I would permit them to participate in an ANBU basics class. However, classes of this nature will be taken outside of the ANBU headquarters and be held at the academy in a private location. Mayhaps we could also run joint exercises to test the ANBU and your medics together as well. Oh, something I just remembered. Under anonymity, getting in and out of the gate requires a tattoo known only to the ANBU. We shall have to see about outfitting members of your division with temporary versions when they are requested for missions. " he paused, taking a deep breath. Something troubled him though, or maybe he was just over thinking things.

"Is there something more serious you wished to discuss? These aren't the types of decisions requiring a face to face visit. I don't mean to demean our meeting or to say that I don't enjoy your company, but, these very well could have been decided via memo or missive."

Kahako was actually quite surprised by Nobuyuki’s smile. She was even more floundered when he agreed with all of her suggestions, adding slight tweaks, but not changing them from their original creation. Surely there should have been some resistance to opening this much information to an outside organization? She even had counter-arguments to the holes in her suggestions. Did her traumatizing experiences with Kushin cause her to become too prepared? Too ‘guns-a-blazing?'

Regardless, Kahako returned his smile with a calm one of her own, her lapse only showing through a quick widening of her eyes. “Ah, I was unaware of the tattoos, I will incorporate that knowledge in my report to the division,” she murmured as she made elegant and detailed notes on a blank sheet. Looking at her paper, Kahako started to think deeply about possible locations the ‘Sentou Allowed’ ANBU classes could take place. “Hmm… a location for the class would have to be where the students couldn’t easily wander in… or teachers for that matter...” she murmured to herself as she began to write possible locations around the Academy.

So focused was she that Kahako missed the Sennin’s perplexed look until he questioned her on why have a meeting in person over such a simple matter. Her scribbling paused only for a second, allowing the question to quickly gestate before continuing onto a different list of possible exercise locations just outside the village. “Yes, it would have been much more practical to settle matters through missives: Clean, simple, done in minutes... I agree,” she commented over her work. Striking out a few places, almost as quickly as she wrote them. “But I am not going to put my members’ well-being in the hands of a man I only know through an extremely difficult to obtain medical file. Your orders to my division are second only to that of the Medical Sennin, and the Raikage, after all.”

At this, Kahako stopped adding to her little list, checking it once more for any places she deemed necessary to remove. “Of course, no matter how pleasurable a first encounter is, it is only the start. I do hope we can learn more of each other as time goes on.” Satisfied, Kahako looked to Nobuyuki again. A playful smirk crossed her lips. “ But... I would be lying to you if that was the only reason I called for this meeting.” Her smirk fell. “My personal desire for this arrangement to happen in person is the very same reason you imagined this meeting not starting off so well.”

Kahako spoke in a calm tone; no hint of a snide remark in her language. Closing her notebook, she sealed the information inside with a small application of her chakra. “I will not waste your time in thinking of suitable locations, however. A missive, in that instance, would suffice.” Kahako scooted forward, grabbing her notebook and getting ready to depart with her escorts. She had only one more thing to say to further put the ANBU Sennin's curious mind at ease.

“You are a very influential man, Matsuura-sama,” she concluded, “and I have a strong feeling that that influence could very well change the course of my branch as a whole in the coming weeks.” At this, Kahako stood, bowing as was proper at the end of meetings with those of a higher position. “I do not wish for your active favor, but I will not allow hearsay to define your opinion of me. Nor will I allow anything less than my own actions condemn me.” Kahako rose from her bow, her eyes alight with a fiery determination. A determination for what… was for Nobuyuki to decide.

So it was a matter of getting to know him on a face to face level. She wanted to know the man who had direct influence into her affairs, which was completely understandable. He nodded his head quickly, and subtly almost as if approving of her actions; as if he were one to judge another. It wasn't intended to be prideful but a simple gesture to personify his thoughts.

He watched her close her notebook and seal it up, and made a play on what he had brought up only moments before. A small grin on his face. She began to pack up though, so he stood out of proper respect.

His left eyebrow rose as she began. She spoke and he listened, and in the end he understood what she was saying. At least, he thought he did. She was showing that the Shinrya name was not defined by the actions of their leader, and that he should not think any less of her because of the deeds of her mother. Her words were eloquent, almost artistic. She had quite the silver tongue.

Nobuyuki bowed to her and nodded his head to her as she made her exit. "I am glad you came to meet with me face to face. Have a good day, Shinrya-san."
