Kahako was actually quite surprised by Nobuyuki’s smile. She was even more floundered when he agreed with all of her suggestions, adding slight tweaks, but not changing them from their original creation. Surely there should have been some resistance to opening this much information to an outside organization? She even had counter-arguments to the holes in her suggestions. Did her traumatizing experiences with Kushin cause her to become too prepared? Too ‘
guns-a-blazing?'
Regardless, Kahako returned his smile with a calm one of her own, her lapse only showing through a quick widening of her eyes.
“Ah, I was unaware of the tattoos, I will incorporate that knowledge in my report to the division,” she murmured as she made elegant and detailed notes on a blank sheet. Looking at her paper, Kahako started to think deeply about possible locations the ‘Sentou Allowed’ ANBU classes could take place.
“Hmm… a location for the class would have to be where the students couldn’t easily wander in… or teachers for that matter...” she murmured to herself as she began to write possible locations around the Academy.
So focused was she that Kahako missed the Sennin’s perplexed look until he questioned her on why have a meeting in person over such a simple matter. Her scribbling paused only for a second, allowing the question to quickly gestate before continuing onto a different list of possible exercise locations just outside the village.
“Yes, it would have been much more practical to settle matters through missives: Clean, simple, done in minutes... I agree,” she commented over her work. Striking out a few places, almost as quickly as she wrote them.
“But I am not going to put my members’ well-being in the hands of a man I only know through an extremely difficult to obtain medical file. Your orders to my division are second only to that of the Medical Sennin, and the Raikage, after all.”
At this, Kahako stopped adding to her little list, checking it once more for any places she deemed necessary to remove.
“Of course, no matter how pleasurable a first encounter is, it is only the start. I do hope we can learn more of each other as time goes on.” Satisfied, Kahako looked to Nobuyuki again. A playful smirk crossed her lips.
“ But... I would be lying to you if that was the only reason I called for this meeting.” Her smirk fell.
“My personal desire for this arrangement to happen in person is the very same reason you imagined this meeting not starting off so well.”
Kahako spoke in a calm tone; no hint of a snide remark in her language. Closing her notebook, she sealed the information inside with a small application of her chakra.
“I will not waste your time in thinking of suitable locations, however. A missive, in that instance, would suffice.” Kahako scooted forward, grabbing her notebook and getting ready to depart with her escorts. She had only one more thing to say to further put the ANBU Sennin's curious mind at ease.
“You are a very influential man, Matsuura-sama,” she concluded,
“and I have a strong feeling that that influence could very well change the course of my branch as a whole in the coming weeks.” At this, Kahako stood, bowing as was proper at the end of meetings with those of a higher position.
“I do not wish for your active favor, but I will not allow hearsay to define your opinion of me. Nor will I allow anything less than my own actions condemn me.” Kahako rose from her bow, her eyes alight with a fiery determination. A determination for what… was for Nobuyuki to decide.
