Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

He stared up at the sealing from behind his mask, thankful that the medical ninja didn't choose to take it off; no doubt it made some things hard for them to do. His body flowed with pain killers, but every so often the dull ache all over his body would return and he would click a button to administer another dose.

His mind replayed that day continuously on a loop. He took note of all the mistakes that were made, if you could call them mistakes. They were more just getting wrecked by a better trained shinobi. Sure he was ANBU and was trained to deal against shinobi, but his skill sets weren't in front line battle. He normally stood behind his men and called the shots while provided what support they needed. But...

Based on that severe lack of allies that arrived, and the frailty of his companions, he would need to change something. Or lots of things. If he wasn't demoted that is. He had no idea what Saito would do after such a sorry display. But what could he do? Bedridden due to his injuries.

One loud sigh later... He looked up to the TV screen. KNN was reporting on the recent gossip. Why did the village only have 10 channels?

Kitsune stepped into the room and shut the door behind her. ”So, ANBU Sennin-san. I’m glad to see you’re awake, at long last.” she said in a chipper tone when she saw that he had indeed awakened. ”Before you ask, yes, I looked under your mask. I had to check for burns. You practically got roasted. You had also been poisoned.” she continued and tapped around on the tablet in her hand. ”So far, I’ve treated your burns, halted your internal bleeding, and kept you mostly sedated so your body could work on fixing itself. Seeing as healing jutsus has a tendency to age tissue faster, I opted for only using it where absolutely necessary to prevent any degradation of your body”

She looked at him and checked the equipment near him to make sure everything was as it should be. ”You look to be well on the way to a full recovery. Your rate of healing is actually well above average. And that’s even taking into account that we shinobi seem to have an accelerated rate of healing.” Kitsune said, and ran a hand through her hair. ”You should be able to leave soon. And when you can. I have a request for you. I wish for you to train me in ANBU techniques. I already know a few, but I’m fairly sure there’s more. I’d like to learn them.” she said, earnestly, looking straight at Nobuyuki’s masked face.

Heard words put him at ease. He had wondered if they used medical jutsu with caution. The horror stories of shinobi who chose to undergo that type of treatment only were cautionary tales in the ANBU corps.

But as was her nature, Kitsune requested something of him. His head slowly turned to look at her from behind the mask. There was a moment of silence. "Request denied. Thank you for patching me up." he responded in a depressed tone. His mind played with what possible motives she might have for learning the techniques. Not like she was going to get much use out of them here in the hospital. He allowed himself to assume it was just to gain more power. He sighed again...

Perhaps the pursuit of power wasn't so bad. "Look at me now..." he thought to himself. "Maybe if I sought power like she did I wouldn't have ended up here."

Kitsune shrugged. ”Shame. Ah well, no harm in asking. I’ll just have to find another way to get stronger.” she said and cracked her neck. ”I’m sure you’re asking yourself why I even asked you, and it’s simple. I don’t wish to be put in a situation where I can’t protect my allies again. This is also why I’ve been spending nearly all of my free time mastering the elements. But! That doesn’t matter now. You declined, and that’s that. If you should change your mind, let me know.”
”Also, if you need medical assistance while recovering, just use this.” she added and placed a radio on the table next to the bed. It had been locked in to only connect to other hospital radios (and of course, Kitsunes radiotelephone.) ”It’ll reach me, or a colleague, who’ll then assist you.”

He looked to the radio and back to her as she explained how it worked. His mind was troubled with what she had said before. Was this the moment to extend and olive branch to the old woman with young tits? Perhaps it was...

"While protocol prevents me from teaching you techniques of the ANBU branch, if you are seeking to master the elements, I would be happy to help you there as I have already mastered the five primary types. A life fighting shinobi means we need to be prepared for everything." he commented, but his mind went back to the fight. "Though it would seem it was not enough." he added under his breath.

"Thank you again for your help." he finished and took a deep breath. Why had he killed them, but not him. Why was he left alive on this world while the ones he tried to protect vanished from existence...

Not like protocol saved your ass, now did it…? Kitsune thought, but decided to keep it to herself. ”Well. I could use some assistance with Earth. That particular element has been giving me some trouble.” she said and looked at Nobuyuki. ”I’d love to get your assistance with that.”
Then he mentioned that a life fighting shinobi meant that they needed to be prepared for everything, with a mutter afterwards. ”You’re right. We do. Or situations like the one today will just be repeated.” she said with a wry smile. ”I’m sorry I didn’t arrive earlier.” she finished, looking at the man.

He nodded his head before ultimately sighing one more time. "I wish to rest now, if there is nothing else you need Shinrya-san." he concluded, turning over onto his side and closing his eyes.

His mind flashed through the events of the battle and whatever glimpses he witnessed venturing in and out of consciousness. It was going to take a while to get back on his feet. Damage control would have to come afterwards.

Kitsune nodded, and tapped a few things onto her tablet. Now the rest of the staff would know not to disturb the man unless actively requested. ”I’ve sent a do-not-disturb request to the staff, so they won’t disturb you unless you, yourself, call them here. Rest well, Sennin-san.” she said and walked out of the room, closing the door behind her.

Fuun lowered her sunglasses to get a better look at the message she had been sent via Kiwi. They were such cute little birds, but the messages were hard to read because of how small they had to be. "Aesculapium... Target-- Matsuura Nobuyuki. ANBU Sennin? Huh, how'd they figure that one out." she asked herself before snapping a flame towards the message, burning it rapidly. "Guess I better get him a gift basket!"

Fuun walked up and down a few streets until she came to a nice little shop where she picked a wicker basket filled with snacks and goodies. Nothing healed the soul like some cheese and crackers! "There we are, now to visit my bestie for the restie! Of his life! Hmmm, needs some work..."

It didn't take her long to get to the Aesculapium, she had been there before back when there was a different sennin. She ransacked a particular office for information regarding Kumogakure's kinjutsu users. That had ended up being an interesting day since she ended up meeting a weird dude who let her go after blowing up government property. But hey! To each their own.

She entered the hospital with a worried fretting look on her face. Quite the actor she was as long as her patience held out. "The key to blending in is to look like you belong and have a purpose. No one will stop you if you look like you are on your way to a flat-lining patient!" she thought to herself, quickly surveying the signs to get a sense of where she needed to go. She stormed past the front desk without even so much as a hello and stepped into an elevator as soon as the doors opened.

There was something awkward about elevators. Even when standing in one by yourself. No real point of focus lead to eyes shifting all over the place, that is, until the doors split prematurely and a doctor in fresh scrubs entered with a frown. Fuun smiled to him but he didn't respond. He just got off on the next floor. Her's was the next one up.

A few moments later the doors parted and she stepped out...

Gift basket in the crook of her elbow, Fuun walked forward with purpose. Seemed like there was a serious lack of ANBU watching their dear leader. "Good!" she thought. That would make her task all the easier. She passed a couple nurses and a doctor busy with paperwork that paid her no mind. That iconic smile formed on her visage as she quickly began peeking in and out of rooms trying to find someone who looked ANBU-esque.

It didn't take long to find a man lying on his side with a mask over his face. He did indeed look a little worse for the wear, but for the most part, she couldn't tell what was wrong with him. The poor little killer didn't know, and for the most part, didn't care. She stepped into the room, closing the door behind her.

Fuun set the gift basket on the table on the opposite side of the room and moved to shut the blinds on the window facing the inner workings of the hospital. Now that she had some privacy she stepped over to the bedside of the incapacitated sennin. Curiosity got the better of her, but not before taking precautions against the dangerous man before her. At least, she thought he might be dangerous. Fuun reached over and gave him a bit of extra morphine to keep him loopy enough even if he did wake up.

Now that that was taken care of, she turned back to reach for his mask and lift it off his face. A slow hand reached for her wrist and grasped it with force. It seemed he wasn't asleep just yet. "What are... ugh..." he groaned. The sennin was definitely feeling the drugs. His hand pulled away and Fuun lifted up his mask. A cold pale hand cupped his cheek. "Worry not Sennin-sama. It will all be over soon enough. After all, I'm the nurse whose come to cure you of your greatness illness!"

"You aren't my nurse."
he grumbled groggily as his eyes peered up at her vibrant hair.

"Uh, she's on lunch?" she lied looking at him incredulously. Nobuyuki just moaned and pulled his mask back over his face.

Fuun shrugged and trotted over to her gift basket to pull a handgun from beneath the treats and goodies. She quickly checked the weapon over before looking around her. There was another empty bed next to the man. She grabbed the pillow from the bed and brought both towards Nobuyuki.

He looked up at what was going on and the pieces slowly began to fit together. "I-I see... that's whats happening."

"Oh don't be so sad mister sennin-san. It's for a good cause. You should feel honored! Only the coolest dudes get offed in the movies!"

He struggled to sit up in bed and Fuun smirked and simply reached forward and pushed him down. "Don't make this difficult." she grunted, her cheery demeanor disappearing. She wrapped the muzzle of the gun in the pillow and forced it against the side of his head. "At least it's comfier than the cold barrel of the gun. See I made this easy for you. Now all you have to do is..."
Pmppp!
"Die."

She slowly laid his head down on the pillow over the bullet hole so no one would see the wound just yet. She had to make her great escape after all.

Fuun threw the pillow she fired through in one of those disposable bins for shitty diapers. The gun was placed back in the gift basket, and she once again hoisted the basket in her arm and quickly checked the scene before leaving.

Nobuyuki's face was hidden by his mask. His head was turned onto the hole so that no one would see it as she left. Who knows just how long it would take for someone to discover the crime. Oooh, this was pumping her up. She turned to open the door and began walking down the hallway as her heart secretly raced after accomplishing her task. This would definitely be a blow against the dictator of Kumogakure.

Osuteno was having just another busy day of rounds which were dragging him all over the hospital with his luck. Down these stairs, up that elevator, down several halls about every time it seemed his next patient was way on the other side of the hospital and someone just had to be messing with him. He was finally heading to eat some lunch while he was passing down a normally low occupancy hallway. It was very rare that these rooms were used though he had been notified on the general channel earlier not to disturb a occupant in this very hall so he was walking quietly to make sure he removed any unnecessary noise. As he passed by the room in question though he stopped and stared at it, his eyes growing wide,

"Blood," Osu whispered.

"A lot of it," Uso answered from inside his head. "And I am not hearing a heartbeat to go with it."

Immediately Osu began knocking on the door but didn't really pause for an answer, the bleeding was far too irregular for an unsupervised person in a hospital. He knew before he saw the machines that whoever was in the bed was a corpse. The figure in the mask wore an anbu mask which Osu left alone, he knew exactly where they were bleeding from.

Osu pulled out his communicator and set it to communicate only the hospital's highest security lines would receive it, something Kitsune-Sensei had designed of course and spoke as he pulled on his gloves and gave the body a general examination as well as noting the time of death. He was surprisingly... calm. "We have a Code Silver, patient murdered by what appears to be a gunshot to the head, suggested course of action is to block exit from the hospital citing a low risk virus or anything else. Patient is occupant of hallway 5F North. Has been dead for several minutes so assailant may have already left. I will stand watch until the hospital security or ANBU close off the area." Only problem was he would have to wait for someone to contact him directly since he couldn't receive messages on this line. He then stared at what seemed to be a communication device on the mask and spoke into it after turning it on, "Attention ANBU... This is MiT Osuteno from the hospital... The owner of this mask has been killed. Please respond as quickly as possible. " He then removed the device itself and took it with him.

He stared at the body before walking out into the hallway and sent clones down both paths to block anyone from coming near who didn't need to be... Raiden above! His knees were started to shake, now that he had done his immediate duty. That had been the only thing that had kept him calm moments earlier he realized as he let himself fall to a sitting position in front of the room. He had no idea who did this or why, but he just knew that something terrible was in motion here and this was likely only the beginning. He could feel it in his blood.

"We have a Code Silver, patient murdered by what appears to be a gunshot to the head, suggested course of action is to block exit from the hospital citing a low risk virus or anything else. Patient is occupant of hallway 5F North. Has been dead for several minutes so assailant may have already left. I will stand watch until the hospital security or ANBU close off the area."

Not only minutes before had she finally had a chance to consider visiting the ANBU Sennin located in hallway 5F North. She would enter with a witty comment about not being his residing doctor so he could tell her how he was really feeling. She had even fully expected the response 'like crap, go away,' but in a more formal strech of words.

What she didn't expect, as she made her way to the hallway, was an intercom message that a patient was dead in that wing. The security line went crazy. People left and right outright surprised and enraged that yet another security breach had occured. "This is Shinrya Kahako. Block the exits and ensure all staff in the area remain where they are. The reason behind the lockdown is considered confidential at the moment. No questions are to be answered by anybody. I don't want rumors spreading and causing fear and confusion. No other individuals are to enter or leave the wing without my explicit approval or until give the all clear. If ANBU arrive, ensure they are able to prove who they are and confirm with me before letting them pass."

She immediately switched to a personal channel to communicate with Osu. "Koji-kun, this is Kahako and I am in route. Tell me more indepth on the current status of the body. How did you find him? What room are you in?" She wouldn't tell him just yet who the individual might be that he discovered dead. The boy was swift and beyond intelligent for his age, but he was still a child. Death could still effect his mental well-being.

She needed the doctor not the boy.

Simultaneously, she pulled her custom made tablet from her pocket and immediatly sent an email on the secured network her mother created for the hospital. A request to an individual she didn't realize would be as useful as she was in this crutial moment. Hopefully the puppet was within range of recieving the request.
Turning the corner, she found herself in the hallway, standing in front of the opened door, and staring at a bloodied ANBU mask delecately held between Osu's small hands. The bullet hole cracked the forehead of the skull and blood dripped onto the hospital floor.

Kahako felt her heart race to her throat. Just months before she viewed that very mask across a desk. Making attempts to solidify a crutial bond that had been frayed by past mistakes. Her hand reached up to her earpiece,. A channel that was reserved only for the highest ranking of shinobi clicked into life. "Ayumu, Saito-sanma. I need you at the hospital immediately. Zenchi is dead. We have a spy in our midst."

Osu stared blankly forward as Kahako-Senpai's voice suddenly popped in. He paused for a few seconds and realized that while it was still fresh in his mind began using the Snapshot jutsu to keep a record beginning from when he got to the floor and to keep the recording going as the situation unfolded. He sighed as he tapped his headset. "Room 587. Initial examination of the wound suggests that a handgun was used and the presence of fluff points to one of our pillows being used to muffle the bang directly against his head. Judging from the amount of blood, the size and location of the wound, as well as the oddly inconvenient hit of morphine recorded on the machine the sennin was drugged into submission by his assailant and killed... 19 minutes ago. He also happens to be a pillow short from our usual room stock so it is likely still around here somewhere seeing as a bloody pillow would be a bit conspicuous." His mouth was feeling rather dry as he tried to follow his sennin's orders. Even as she rounded the corner to where she would see him in the hall he just continued staring forward with the anbu's communication device in one hand. He was sad when people died of sickness, this... It was blasphemy against the hospital's existence.

"It was a quick death and likely painless with how drugged he was or as close as it could have been when a piece of metal enters your skull. It might have even seemed a dream to him if he was awake. How I found him... I was walking down the hall considering this wing is usually empty except for the strange do not disturb request for a patient who had randomly been separated from the others. I walked quietly as not to disturb whoever it was, but when I walked past the door I heard the bleeding... but no heartbeat. I have killed before... I knew what that sound meant... So I ignored the do not disturb and went in to see what I already knew would be there." He answered all the questions as asked. He looked at his senpai/sennin as she requested the Raikage and the Main Branch Sennin. Not the ANBU Sennin though. The reason for that was obvious of course as her voice came over the dead masked man's communicator in his hand. That realization made only enough difference at the moment for Osu to just give up on sitting up and began solely relying on the wall to keep him up. It was strange, he had recently won the opportunity to get to spend the day with a village leader of his choice. The man he was going to choose was only a few feet away and not taking any more appointments it seemed. There was still a chance Osu might spend a day with him, just not in the way he was expecting... Odd that after a good minute the ANBU had yet to respond to him. Perhaps they were as shocked as he.
Snapshot recording the thread while it is still fresh in Osu's mind from where he arrived on the floor and keep on a going

Shin demonic aura flared up as he sprinted across the village towards the Aesculapium, his mask concealing the feeling of rage building up into him as he made his way there. He just left his house moments ago and was on his way to the village gates, when he received a message that caused his blood to boil.
Osuteno said:
"Attention ANBU... This is MiT Osuteno from the hospital... The owner of this mask has been killed. Please respond as quickly as possible. "

Within moments, Shin blurred though hand signals, his feet no longer touching the ground as his anti-gravity allowed the trainee to speed across the village within moments. During his sprint, he began messing with his headset, delivering his own message. One of their people had been attacked and the rest need to be warned.

“Trainee Kyōfuno to all ANBU on these frequency. Responding to a homicide call at the hospital from a MiT on our frequency…the deceased is one of ours. We might need a few people at the gates. Also request for backup at the Aesculapium ASAP. Over.”

Ending the call, Shin would continue running for a few minutes until he found himself at the building, stopping as he tried the door. It was locked, something that was causing him even more paranoia. Calming himself, he noticed the security team that were standing next to the door, motioning towards his mask and making an upward motion. Do they think were compromised? Not reaching for his mask, he instead rolled up his sleeve, showing off the tattoo to identify him as ANBU. Unlocking the door, the guard requested that he wait until they checked to make sure he was clear to investigate the location, something that wasn’t sitting well with him at the moment. First identifying my identify, the not even being able to check out the crime scene without authorization? This is not good at all. Folding his hands, he waited for the okay for him to go ahead, hoping that the scene was still intact enough for him to identify the victim.

Hisako received the message which ticked by on her ocular heads-up-display, a feature that overlaid her normal sight with additional information, analyses, and more. Immediately she began heading towards Kahako, by extrapolating her location from the data stream she had received. This meant exiting the lab she was currently in, in the basement, and heading towards the recovery wing. After a few minutes, she arrived at the room, and entered it, somehow managing to avoid obstruction by internal security. ”I received your message, Sennin-sama. I have reviewed the footage while en route to this room. I found evidence that unauthorized personnel entered the room.” Hisako said with her usual tone.

With the headband on her head suddenly lighting up with a dim blue hue, Hisako transferred the relevant sections of video to Kahakos tablet. ”I have transferred the video footage of the individual in question to your tablet. Additionally, my databanks register that a do-not-disturb setting was set for the room by Kitsune-sama. she said, and paused, accessing a few files and did a ton of processing. As such I have reviewed the video footage in light of this as well, and have determined that she was in her laboratory at the same time the intruder entered this room, thus eliminating her as a suspect. This piece of footage has also been transferred. You will find the timestamps match up on the two segments. There was also no evidence of any data interruption on hospital surveillance footage, or servers. It is my understanding that they were not aware of the recent structural improvements made to this building.”

"Am I late for the festivities? Fuun works fast." he groaned as he past the A.I. speaking in the hallway.

"That's cool... but not quite who I am looking for."
he floated by heading farther into the scene until he found the room where Nobuyuki lay dead. "Kill confirmed. Guess I'll hang around to see if I can learn anything else." he said, watching people rush about.

"What?" said a cool and calm voice. "Zenchi is dead?"

Daichi stood from a briefing that was taking place deep in the Sileo. "This meeting is adjourned. We've an emergency."

He reached up to his headset while the rest of his colleagues either watched him with concern or left in a hurry after hearing what he said. He began speaking on the ANBU frequency. "This is Senryaku of the SOD. I want all personel who isn't currently on assignment to head to the Aesculapium. Quadrant off the building and ascertain every piece of evidence at the location regarding this assassination. ANBU on scene will assume control of the situation until someone of higher rank within the ANBU arrive, or someone that supersedes our authority. Notably the Raikage. Do not trust anyone until they are cleared by us."

The report had reached his ears.

Not only this report however... but others.

Chaos seemed to be reigning the village, not Akira, not the Sennin, not the Council...

It was infuriating. Battles had raged in his village. His own shinobi made fools of. And now his ANBU Sennin had been killed.

Akuhei stood before Akira, Akira simply remaining in his chair behind his desk.

The ANBU Guard looked at Akira, knowing that the silence in the room only said too much about Akira's feelings.

The village is showing its true colour, all shinobi are united against this attacker and as far as we know he seems to only kill some targets. He let Nobuyuki live, why go back to kill him later? Maybe it would have taken too long and he did go back, but there's no evidence yet. You of all people know to look at the facts.

Akira nodded, listening to his childhood friend speak.

It's clear the opponent is strong. You need to find him and challenge him. It seems more and more like only you can deal with this problem.

Akira nodded again. His teeth grit.

He went to speak but choked on his words. His mouth closing again as he frowned, took a breath through his nose and opened his mouth once more to speak.

I will go to the hospital first.

Very well my lord. Inaction is the worst thing to do at this time. Let us go.

Akuhei signaled those of his squad who were there.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Arriving at the hospital Akira walked through the halls, the eyes of those around looking at him, behind those stares was a mixture of hope and anguish.

Someone had stolen into the hospital, killed someone, and then escaped without a trace. The Raikage brought with him hope that something could be done. But fear that if it had gotten to the point where they needed to look at him then what if he was not enough.

Akira could feel the weight beginning to build on his shoulders.

Entering the room he looked around at those already here. Akuhei and Koumyou behind him, their masks upon their faces.

Moving to Nobuyuki's bedside Akira looked down at the young man, his skin pale, his sheets crimson. Akira's single eye regarding the youthful look still on the mans eyes, and how even in death he still had a certain level of defiance in his face. It was painful for Akira... but it only fed his fire.

Looking up to Osuteno, and Kahako he nodded, all would see the clarity in his gaze, perhaps understanding the ferocity building behind it. The third he didn't know, but nodded to her anyway.

Looking back to Nobuyuki he finally spoke, a hand gently resting on the mans shoulder I will sort this out my brother.

Turning towards the door he continued to speak, this time to everyone else. His hand forming seals he hadn't formed in a while, the ANBU mask of his youth forming on his face, the Monkey mask.

Let all know I will do what I can to end this. Shinbatsu give me the strength to overcome this foe. he thought afterwards.

This enemy was strong.

He couldn't be underestimated.

Shin unfolded his hands near the entrance as the Raikage himself walked through the doors, causing the young trainee to snap at attention. He watched as the man was followed behind by his guard, his mind racing at the implications. This wasn’t any regular ANBU who died. Watching the different emotions play out the peoples, he heard buzzing on his headset. Picking it up, he was alert to new orders.
Takekawa Daichi said:

“Understood sir.”

Shin began walking after the man, the guards focused on the presence of the Raikage. It took a few minutes before he was able to locate the man, causing Shin to pause at the two presence in the room. That and the deceased. Waiting outside the door, he watched silently as the kage addressed the dead man, his form blocking his view for a second. Once he moved, his eyes widen at the deceased identity. Nobuyuki? Our Sennin…was murdered? He didn’t know what to feel at the moments. He had meant the man only once in his life, though it held an impression on him. The passion he had spoken off the branch, he people he had lost, it was something that stuck with him still. For an honorable man to have been killed like a dog…it made his blood rage. This will not go unpunished. Shin felt his muscles tense as he calmed himself, his orders taking precedence over his emotions.

Looking at his Raikage, he step forward into the room, stopping the man from leaving before speaking. He would make this short.

“Forgive the instruction sir, but SOD has requested that the ANBU assume control of situation here after confirmation from you. I…wanted to know if you wanted me to notify the rest of the branch about…the Gensui death.”

Finishing his speech, he step back and stood back in attention as he waited for further commands. He recited his commands, and there was no reason to keep the Raikage from leaving. Especially with the presence he was commanding. Regardless of the answer, it was going to a dark week for the branch.

It seemed that all hell was breaking loose in Kumogakure. From what Ayumu could grasp of the situation, a man had entered the village illegally. That man may or may not have been the same that was confronted by Nobuyuki resulting in the Sennin being defeated in the streets. Fortunately, he had been brought to the hospital. Unfortunately, that was where he had met his doom. What Ayumu was sure of was that the same man who took Nobuyuki down was the same man he had chased after in the forest and unfortunately not been able to capture. The man had revealed as much with his taunts, though he may have said more than he meant to. Between his experience in the forest and now, he had received notification from Kahako that the ANBU Sennin had been murdered in the hospital. The timelines did not match up for it to have been the same man finishing the job. He would not have reached the hospital in that amount of time coming from the forest. Ayumu had been called to the hospital and with some luck he was already headed there to drop off the ANBU who had been injured in the fight. After leaving him in their care, he would search for the remaining Sennin.

'Fuck. Nobuyuki, what happened?' Ayumu thought. It was all he could do to wonder at what could have happened. Was the man he had encountered working with someone else? Someone who had already been within the village, perhaps? There had been no other reports of unauthorized access. 'Alright, Kahako, where are you?' he thought, approaching the front desk. He asked for her location and was pointed in the right direction. The hospital was on lockdown, but they were expecting him so he entered and after asking a few more people that weren't currently panicking, Ayumu located Kahako and Saito.

"Kahako!" Ayumu called as he saw her. "I got your message and came as quickly as I could. I can't believe it..." he said before his eyes then gravitated to the Raikage. He was about to leave it seemed, though having a quick word with an ANBU trainee. "Saito-sama, Kahako, I need to update you. I just encountered the man who sent the Sennin to the hospital in the forest. He had just defeated another ANBU and fled when he realized that I and another were approaching. Unfortunately, he escaped, but the ANBU lives and is being taken care of now by Kitsune. I don't believe he is the same assailant who entered the hospital, though. It was too soon after I encountered him. We are likely dealing with multiple threats and I wouldn't doubt they're working together," Ayumu explained, catching the two of them up on his own experience. He could not be fully certain about the last part, but it seemed the most logical explanation to him given what had occurred.

"I used the Snapshot technique to get a read on his chakra signature. I should be able to track him somewhat, though the technique has its limits as you well know, Saito-sama," Ayumu continued. He would be able to share the Snapshot if necessary. "When I saw him, I believe he may have been under some sort of transformation, perhaps Cursed Seal transformation. He didn't look completely human. It's possible he may no longer look the same," Ayumu conjectured. He was obviously familiar with Cursed Seals, having one himself. On the very rare occasion that he activated the higher levels of his seal, there was a drastic transformation. No two persons would appear the same under such transformation, so he couldn't be certain that was what he had witnessed. Ayumu sighed, at last allowing himself a moment to glance over at Nobuyuki's body and the pool of blood.

"How are we going to respond to this?" Ayumu asked, looking back to the Raikage and Kahako. His hand twitched slightly with the urge to draw his sword and go to battle. Kumo shinobi blood had been spilled many times now and the culprits were running free as could be. It was sickening to him. He wanted nothing more than to separate their heads from their bodies. He needed to remain calm and fight back his reckless nature for now.

Akira went to answer Shin when Ayumu entered and informed them of information which was most necessary.

He needed to figure things out, and there was one way which would get him the answers quickly.

Looking to Shin he gives his answer Have the ANBU focus on guarding those who have been injured. Clearly there is someone working either in league with this man or using the damage he's doing as a means to cause even greater trauma to the village. Looking to Ayumu he nodded.

We will hunt him down together then seeing as that will be the best way. However I want to fight him alone. If I fall then you will be able to take him out, but I want to speak with him and figure out what his objectives are and I don't think he will open up to me if I'm fighting him at the same time as someone else is aiding me.

I want to learn what kind of man it is that is causing trouble in this village of ours, and I want to put a stop to it. As far as we can tell he's only killed two ANBU who might have been casualties due to fighting for survival, death is a part of ANBU life, they did their duty.

Besides
he thought If we can end up with an unlikely ally of this strength then we grow as a village.

It was an unlikely result, but Akira had to look for the potential positives that he could gain out of all this for everyone. Two lives had been lost, but any more... two ANBU falling is one thing, but if it spread to main branch members, if he had acted in a way which led Akira to believe he was wanting to kill Cloud shinobi. If he was working with the murderer then certainly, he needed to be killed. But if he was acting mostly in self defense and then someone else separately acted... then death wasn't the best alternative.

Also Akira knew that some people needed to see real strength, someone to look up to, in a way fear. If this was the type of man his target was then Akira would need to fight him alone to stand a chance of having him see this.

When you are ready Ayumu we will begin our hunt. Sooner will be better than later to stop him.
