Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Many moons had waxed and waned since the last incident. Yet, inevitably, it had happened again.

A sacred tome had vanished from the public wing of the Oracle’s Library.

Not merely misplaced.
Not borrowed.
Stolen.

The book in question was no ordinary volume. Its contents were deemed too extraordinary - too dangerous - for common eyes. Access to its chamber required the direct presence of a librarian or Oracle to unseal the warded door. And yet, somehow, someone had slipped inside and escaped with the tome without triggering a single alarm, leaving the staff on duty unsettled and whispering theories beneath their breath. No locks were broken. No wards disturbed. It was as if the intruder had simply belonged there.

Whatever was written within those pages was never meant to be seen by the uninitiated. One careless glance could leave a reader permanently scarred—mind, body, or soul. The book had to be recovered and resealed immediately, before fate placed it into the wrong hands.

A summons was quietly issued across the city to any available shinobi - or enterprising students - willing to earn a bit of extra yen. Those who answered the call would receive a sealed scroll upon arrival at the library. Breaking the wax would reveal the briefing:

Proceed to the Oracle’s Library.
Speak with any available staff member to accept the mission.
Recover and return the stolen book for payment.
Under no circumstances are you to open the tome unless you are of legal age and fully prepared to face the consequences.
This assignment will be granted to the first individual who answers the call.

At the front desk, awaiting the fortunate or perhaps unfortunate soul who would take on the task, sat a lone, cloaked figure.

Their mask was a work of elegant craftsmanship, its smooth curves suggesting the visage of a fox or perhaps a cat, depending on the angle and the viewer’s imagination. They remained perfectly still, a silent sentinel amid the quiet murmur of the library. Around them, patrons browsed shelves for stories to escape into, recipes to attempt, or curiosities to rent or if their coin allowed, to purchase.

None of them seemed to notice the weight of the moment.

'click, clack, click' The shoes of the boy would hit the surface of the elegant floors of the library. He wasnt trying to be quiet right now, but he didnt want to make too much noise. He knew that this was going to be a... task. However, he felt deeply within his chest that there was something odd about this whole thing. Everything hinging on the return of the book, but his curiosity would certainly be sparked as he read the request from the scroll before entering into this place. Earlier in the week, he had been training, and his abilities of unlocking shadow jutsu while still using water or fire based techniques were becoming keen. With a bit more chakra input he would be able to change a fireball into a mass of black shadowy chakra. Or even his pressurized mist attack was now a drill of blackened chakra. The darkness was allowing his abilities to become abundantly more potent. So much so that he was becoming proud of his growth. He couldnt get ahead of himself though, with other students like Goro, Shinda, and others that he had not yet met or encountered, he would have to stay diligent.

So with a step of purpose, tired boy would be seen strolling into the library making his way to the cloaked individual, noting their attire, it intrigued him. The boy knew and had seen these people around the village. Though only for split moments. They were very strong he'd sensed... and they were skilled. To be able to vanish at a moments notice. This was something that would help Sabishii... to learn more about these... cloaked people. Who were they and how could he become one? Surely there was a catch... there was some sort of secret society of cloaked people that were employed within the village, maybe even by the head guy at the top.

Ghostly whisps would tendril up around Sabishii's legs before moving up to his shoulders one crimson the other blindingly white. Both were hollow with deep dark eye sockets that held no life and agape mouths that would not move even though they were speaking.

"...Here to return..."
"To find~ and returrrn~"

"...I am here to accept the ordinance for the stolen tome."

Fortunately for the Library and the Oracle waiting on someone to arrive, she would not have to wait long as her green eyes would glow behind the mask as she looked the boy up and down, noticing his little wisp friends around him. This was not the expected responder to the summons, but he would do as it had been offered to the village, primarily the lower ranking members. The others were busy preparing for the conflict with the Baron Twins that would come to ahead in a couple of days and the priority was on protecting the village and preparing to fight back against them so no more causalities needed to occur.

The masked figure would sigh momentarily before addressing the boy in front of her: "Sabishii, today is your lucky day. You were the first to accept the summons and the mission is yours. You are looking for a book that is red with two figures on the front of it. One is feminine and pink while the other is masculine and blue. They are holding hands. The name of the book is written in Runic Terran, which you can learn by reading the Annals of the Conqueror at a later date. The title is سوترا المتعة المقدسة which I am not telling you what that means." She would grab a piece of paper on the desk and scribble down the title onto it before extending her hand to the boy so he knew what it looked like if it would prove helpful for him in his search. She was glad that it was written in Runic Terran as it would have been embarassing for her to say especially knowing the age of the kid in front of her.

She would look back at him after a moment and speak again: "As the briefing says, under no circumstances are you to open the book. If you discover it open, immediately close it as you are not prepared for what the inside of the book has. It is not safe for the majority of the village to see and I do not want to be the one who has to explain to you what it is depicting. I have nothing more for you aside from the likely culprit is either a child going through puberty with their hormones out of balance or someone who is down on their luck and needing to find something to better their lives. You likely will find them hidden away or in seclusion as to not be found with that book. I hope at least."

She would sigh again at the boy and speak a few more words: "I have nothing else to say. You are dismissed. Please return as soon as you have the book in hand so I can put this matter behind us and speak about getting better security so this stops occurring."

Unspeakable. Sabishii's frown forming across his face would deepen. What in the world was going on that someone would be stealing... smut. The dark halls of the library at this time would echo in Sabishii's huff. His angst was something that would definitely become palpable. He wanted nothing more than to leave, but this would be a good mark on him if he was able to complete this simple task. He was smart enough to know where to find it. He did however have many questions before this woman would leave. He would assume it was a woman because of the tone of her voice, but it was a different world. Some men were hyper feminine. Which was definitely okay, Sabishii was not anyone to judge how anyone else lived their lives.

Grumbling after the woman would speak he'd nod, "Where was the book last seen?" he would cross his arms before the woman but regardless of her answer he would get to work. Moving to see if he could get any indication of where, or who might've stolen the book. He didnt understand why anyone would want to look at such stuff. It was disgusting, but someone had to want it given the circumstances of its disappearance. After the woman would leave, he'd move about. Seeing what he would be able to uncover before leaving leaving the library and venturing out.

[OOC: Thanks for this. I laughed my butt off reading this.]

A question would be asked from the boy to the Oracle who looked at him and walked away with no response to him as she had mentioned before, she had nothing else to say. It was his problem to figure out and he was not going to receive access to the room where it was last seen as she didn't need his young mind to be corrupted with the other literature in that room that children should never seen. But, this would not stop the boy from searching through the library where he would find nothing - not a footprint, not a piece of hair that could be used, and definitely no bodily liquids because the thief got excited. The analysis of the first floor was a failure, but the mission had just begun as he would leave the library and venture out.

As he walked out of the Oracle's Tower, he would notice a group of children to his right that were peeking down an alley with frightened looks on their faces. There was a little boy holding a teddy bear in his arm that fell as he continued to peek before shielding his eyes. Another boy was shaking in place, biting one of his nails as he fell to the ground and looked like he was overcome with a fear as he wetted himself. The last of the little group was a girl would was froze in place watching what was going down in the alley until something startled her and she ran off into the streets away from it, dropping a small coin purse in the process. Something had happened that was making these young children, likely a few years younger than Sabishii, feel a sense of fear as they reacted the ways that they did.

What would he do given the situation that had happened in front of him? Would he investigate the scene and see what he could find or would he try to get the item that the girl dropped and return it to her before she got too far away? Did he want to deviate from his mission and help some children or focus only on his mission at hand?

She simply walked away. 'Rude' the boy would think silently as he'd scratch the back of his head. The likelihood of him finding it would diminish if he didnt know where it was last located to know where it could be. The direction the insight. Alas, there was nothing that he could do. She wasnt going to turn back and give him anything more and thus he would have to go from a cold case to find something that may be anywhere by now. Unless, she knew the item was close. Closer than he might've thought. A hand on his chin as he'd think for a momentm would cause him to grow quiet enough to her a subtle commotion.

And he would find himself walking in the direction of where he'd heard something, but what? Down, much further down he would spot a trio. Young. Fairly younger than himself. Much like the urchins from the mission he'd been on with Goro and Shinda. However, these kids were out of place here. One was even holding a plush bear. The young girl dropped something as they would scurry about... what was this about? Could he be on the right track for the missing... lewd book? Maybe but he would call up the ghosts, "...Collect what the girl dropped... bring it to me.", He didnt have the best control over them yet and as they would attempt to get the coin purse, the utilization of his chakra wouldnt yet allow him to grasp it causing him to scoff silently.

"...fine..." the silent boy would mumble and march to it. Picking it up before looking up to see where the trio had gone. He would try to return her purse before finishing looking for this, but what had startled them? He would continue looking around to see if there were any clues...

"...Hm, whats going on around here..."

The young student of the village would decide to retrieve the coin purse for the little girl who ran off after something frightened her. An admirable thing to do, but the girl was nowhere to be seen unfortunately leaving him with a item that had nothing extraordinary in it: a few coins, some lip gloss and a small nail filer. He would have to decide what to do with this item once his mission was over, but he had to determine somewhere to go first. The two boys were still nearby looking terrified as the teddy bear holding one had proceeded to vomit onto the wall near where he was standing while the other had began to cry as his pants were wet enough to look like a pipe had burst. Poor kids.

The one that had puked would walk over to him, vomit still on his face, as he tugged on the boy's sleeve and looked up at him. There were tears in his eyes as his voice was shaking as he spoke: "Som...som...something scar...scar...scary down the...the...there. Ple..ple...please help." Something clearly had these two boys, and the girl who ran off, terrified that was down there. Was it a dog? A dead body? Two lovers becoming one? It was hard to tell, but whatever it was, the children were scared enough to be losing control of their bodies' functions.

These children were probably scared of something that scurried around that they could not see that made a commotion and then they made comments to stroke fear into one another as children tended to do as they were developing. If Sabishii was to go over and look in the alley, he would discover a dumpster with trash laying around it. There were trashcans scattered throughout the alley, filled to the brim with, well, trash. It was hard to see anything as the alley was covered from above with a tapestry from one of the residents that lived in the apartments above. There was a musky odor however that could be smelt from where the children originally were standing. The alley looked normal all things considered aside from an old chest that sat against one of the walls with a chain attached to its side to hold it in place when transporting it.
