Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

The wind whispered through the trees, carrying with it the familiar scent of earth and damp moss. Konoha’s ancient forest stretched endlessly, its towering trunks casting long shadows that moved gently in the breeze. The rustle of leaves was almost soothing, like the quiet hum of a distant lullaby to the ears of those that called this place home. But to the rogue ninja stepping through the underbrush, it held no memory of homely comforts. It was the sound of an inevitable end drawing near...

He stood still, letting the memories wash over him for a moment, both the good and the bad, the incredible and the simple, nothing forgotten and no regrets. The village was just beyond the trees now, so close the memories felt like only moments ago. Konoha, his former home. Once, it had been everything! A place of loyalty, duty, and bonds. He had shed all of that long ago. His choices, his path, had taken him far from it. A rogue. A ghost. A murderer.

But now he was back. Not out of regret, nore seeking redemption, but with a single, simple purpose.

He was searching for someone strong enough to kill him....

There was no sadness in that thought. No fear. No anger. Just a quiet, almost delighted anticipation. The shinibi had lived his life in defiance of the rules, of the expectations placed on him. He had chosen his own path, one that led him through countless battles, countless deaths, and countless betrayals, taken him to the halls of the gods and to the pits of hell. He had fought for survival, for power, and, ultimately, for freedom.

But what was freedom if there was nothing left to challenge him? What was the point of living if there was no one left to fight?

He had grown bored of the shadows. The quiet days of solitary reflection had offered him no more thrill. The rogue ninja had become something more than a weapon. But now, after years of walking alone, he found himself craving something more, something denied him despite all the freedoms power has earned him.

He saught death...

Not just any death though, he saught a specific death. A death that would come not because of age or sickness, but from a worthy opponent.
He smiled to himself, lips curling at the thought.

Who in Konoha would be strong enough?

His heart quickened. There were names, of course, old comrades, former friends who had once stood beside him in battle or stood against him in the days since. Would they even recognize the murderer he had become? Or would they still see the boy who had once bled for the village and offer him unsaught forgiveness? It didn’t matter. He wasn’t here to be reunited. He wasn’t here to ask for forgiveness.

He was here to die.

To face death not as a victim, but as someone who had outlived every challenge life had thrown his way.

His chakra hummed softly as he moved deeper into the forest, the shadows folding around him like an old cloak. The village loomed ahead, its pulse growing stronger with each step. He could hear the murmurs of life, the laughter of children, the clang of metal on metal as training drills echoed from the great dojos, the rush of footfalls on the streets and a thousand other sounds of the bustling village.

There were warriors here, strong shinobi, some of the best in the world. The thought made his pulse quicken. Could any of them defeat him? Could any of them end the life of the missing ninja who had spent years honing his skills, sharpening his body into something that could stand against even the greatest?

Maybe.

His smile widened. He wasn’t just looking for any opponent. He was looking for someone who could match him. A true battle, the kind where the winner and the loser didn’t matter, because the fight itself would be the end of him.

The rogue’s footsteps were quiet as he moved towards the gates of Konoha, but he wasn't slipping through shadows. He wasn’t concerned with hiding for he didn’t care if anyone saw him. He was beyond that. His eyes scanned the faces of the villagers at the gates, searching, waiting for someone to notice him, to recognize the challenge he offered.

A slow movement caught his eye. A shinobi, strong and disciplined, stepping through the village gates, indicating with his hand for Yong to approach. His posture was perfect, his expression unreadable. Another warrior. The rogue’s heart skipped a beat in anticipation. Could this be the one? Could this shinobi be the answer to his final, fateful question?

He approached, his movements deliberate, almost casual. There was no rush. He had all the time in the world, or rather, what was left of it.
The rogue stopped before the shinobi , locking eyes with him. He could see the confusion in the man’s gaze in response to his own intense stare. The recognition, the flicker of hesitation. It was a familiar feeling. But it didn’t matter. He didn’t need a response. All he needed was a challenge.

"Halt, what is your business with Konoha?

A laugh, low and dark, escaped his lips.
"I’m looking for someone strong enough to kill me," he said simply, his voice cold and quiet, yet tinged with excitement. "Someone who can finally put an end to this."

The guards eyes narrowed, fingers twitching toward the hilt of his weapon ready for an attack. But there was no fear in the rogue’s voice and he did not move to attack. There was only the smallest hint of the concealed thrill of knowing that this could be it. This could be the moment he had been waiting for. He wasn’t afraid of dying. In fact, he welcomed it. He had been running from it for so long, but now... now it would come on his terms.

The rogue’s grin widened. "Are you strong enough?"

He didn’t care if the shinobi attacked or hesitated. He didn’t care if he died here, on the streets of Konoha, or in some distant corner of the world. The only thing that mattered was that, for once in his life, he had found someone who might be able to end his journey.

And he was eager to see if they could.
Because, in the end, what was a rogue ninja without a worthy end?

It was time to find out.

Nao had gotten a call from the guard's house. "This crazy person is talking about killing him!?!" Nao frowned at those words. Who person would be in their right mind to say such a thing? He sighed as he leaned back in the chair that belonged to the assistant, looking at the kage spot. He would stand up himself and get ready to leave. Right outside he would adjust his glasses, there were dark circles under his eyes. "Too bright.." he muttered as he would get to the gate.

He didn't wear his usual sennin style clothing, but rather simply clothing that could get dirtied by anything needed right now. Yet not too simple so he could meet officials too. "Good afternoon..." his voice sounded calm, his gaze didn't have that spark of life right now but was a dual-colored puddle. He had scaled following up from one hand to the lower arm. Scales on his chest that seemed like a slashing motion. His hairs tied back. "I heard that you wished to die..." That was when he saw who it was, a big drag was taken from his cigarette. I guess keeping friends was also out of the nope. "YONG?!" He called out, then let the smoke escape his lungs again too. "Are you on a suicide mission to something?! AHOKA"

He had crossed the line into forbidden territory long ago, abandoning his past, his village, his ties. Yet, there was one bond that remained, a thread pulled tight over the years. An old friend, the calm that was the tempest of Yong. The one face that could spare bloodshed and have the rogue ninja take a breath. He sense dthe approaching bright soul, the sennins power tasted like air after a storm... Perhaps there was one left who could fulfill his wish.

The sound of Nao's footsteps on the gravel broke the awkward stillness between the guard and Yong, and the rogue turned to see a bit so familiar face. Yong gave a small, wry smile as he saw Nao approache.
"Like the new look..." he teased, pulling out a cigarette. The rogue grinned. "But some things you don’t get to change... It is good to see you Nao."

The gate guard breathed a sigh of relief as he realised the sennin had taken control of the situation, this was obviously above his paygrade!

The two moved quickly out of the common thoroughfare, moving to the small guardhouse. Resting their backs against the stone wall, silently lit their cigarettes. The soft, crackling burn of the tobacco was the only sound between them for a long moment though the bustle of the busy gates was loud, the flames whispered like thunder to the storm inside Yong's mind.

Finally, the rogue spoke, his voice low and contemplative. “Friend Nao... I’ve been thinking a lot, lately.”

“About strength,” the rogue said, exhaling a plume of smoke. “Not the strength we were trained to use... not the strength of a single village or country... but the strength of the world. Its true strength.”

“It’s not just power,” the Yong said, his voice steady, but with a hint of something darker. “It’s about testing all limits. I’ve seen the world, lived on the edge of it, pushed my own boundaries... but I still feel incomplete. If we all push harder, fight harder, strive for more, more power, more strength, more more more... What happens when we reach the end? What if we shatter it all? What happens next...”

Yong took a drag from his cigarette, considering his words carefully. The rogue’s eyes glinted with a hard, unfamiliar light. “You and I both know the truth, Sennin Nao. Power isn’t given. It is taken. And the world, as it stands, is fragile. If I break it, I’ll see if it can be rebuilt stronger. I want to know if it can. If it should!”

A heavy silence fell between them, broken only by the faint rustle of wind through the trees and the still bustling gates.

“I’ve been waiting for this day...” Yong said quietly. “For the day when everything I’ve learned, everything I’ve fought for, all the darkness I’ve embraced, when it finally means something. When I can push the world itself to its knees and see what rises from the ashes.”

Yong exhaled slowly, flicking the ash from his cigarette. “And if nothing rises. If there’s nothing left but ruin?”

The rogue looked directly into Nao's eyes, meeting his gaze, the fire in his eyes unwavering. “Then I rebuild it myself...”

Yong was silent for a long time before he spoke again, his voice tinged with sadness. “You’ve changed, my friend. But I know you can’t follow me down that path.”

With that, the rogue stopped leaning against the wall, taking one last drag from his cigarette before tossing it to the ground and grinding it underfoot. He glanced at Nao, a brief flicker of something akin to regret passing through his eyes, but it was gone as quickly as it had come.

"Konoha will be last..."

"Or you could try and stop me now?” he said, a cheeky grin attached to the thought, then he turned to leave.

The gates of Konoha loomed behind him, witnesses to the quiet departure of a rogue, determined to test the world’s strength, no matter the cost.

He had called his friend an idiot, but there seemed to be of no responese. He only got a comment about how he had changed. He clicked his tongue onto the roof on his mouth and let it slide. “Some things indeed never change..” he woul simply sigh as he woul follow Yong a little away from the gates.

While the silence was growing between of them, the tired eyes of Nao looked to his friend before the trees in the distance. He opened up his mouth to speak, but Yong spoke first, making him swallow the words and listen to hi friend. “Strength of the world huh…” he thought as he just silently kept listening to Yong.

‘That is true… you lived in this world, but what about another..’ He gripped his hand as he would look towards his friend, not faltering either with a calm and collected gaze. But the spark of the past wasn't there right now. “ I believe we can drop the nicknames included. It is just a rank anyways… It doesn't matter right now either in leaf.” He would sigh as he would have preffered to just be called Nao or any nickname would be sufficiant.
Another silence filled the air and the Sennin would simply snip in his fingers and the sennin ropes would dissapear. He put on another cigarette and offered yong another one too. Something was on his mind, but he had no idea how to tell without faltering his status. ‘ what status…’ He thought seconds later. ‘ With the state of leaf.. there is nothing left soon anyways.’ “ rebuild huh…” he would repeat and already a little thinking further. A few plans started to form in his mind, but he wasn't entirely sure which one would be benivisial.
“Last huh…” he would comment before looking to his friend that tried to leave the place. A grin started to form… No matter how idiotic this plan was. He had something.

A cracking sound came from the red haired mans hand. His gaze colder and you could really see the chakra aura arond him too. A sly grin had formed. “Don’t you think it is too soon to leave? Buddy…” The last part was whispered, and he motioned the other to follow.
“i don't care if you are testing me or not, but I ain't letting you leave yet. I don't care if you end me right here and right now. I have nothing to loose, I have no lingering attatchments to this place. but. I am bound.” he spoke and would eventually turn back to face yong. the gates were a ltitle bit away and the trees were a lot taller here. Withuot giving the man a time to speak, he spoke.
“While I look different, things did become different. We have lost a lot of people inside of the gates, Red River Virus. Currently, I am the only sennin that is around. There are hardly any students and chakra people without Coma or gone insane. Before you stop me from rambling on Yong, before you say but your position… I dont care.” He spoke harsh. His hand would go to the old wound on his chest. “ I am alone here anyways. I do not know what has bound me to this place or how, I am unable to leave. “ He continues and would use his kinjutsu, his lineage.

In a few seconds, a dragon would be standing in front of Yong. “ I am tired, there is no one, nothing here, no hoard either. tell me what you want, I don't care anymore. If you wish to have a fight right now, then let's do it. If you wish to have a talk, ,go for it, if you wish to still walk away. I won't stop you now. But….” And with this he turned back. “ i need you. I am lost…” asking this was already a whole something, but he also placed his life in his hands. “No one knows that form, only my contracts. and to say you have seen this world… That is true, but dont forget… I know another.”

[stopped, giving offer]
