Karasu had learned a lot since becoming a Jounin. There was still more to learn. Her home was a bit lonely since Jirou and Kashikoi were off on a mission and Hinata well, he disappeared long ago without a trace. Her father was working at his weapons store, so she had the house all to herself. She remembered she had to go see Lady Fifth on her new role that Soku the Main Branch Sennin had assigned her. She was assigned with approval to be in the Diplomat division which recently moved from the ANBU Branch to the Main Branch. Karasu was excited and wondered what Asuka would assign her with first. She locked up the house before setting off to the Hokage’s office. She smiled and waved to the shop owners as she walked past them. Of course they wanted her to stop in and eat but she had to run along and had no time to eat. She felt bad because they really wanted her to spend money in their shops. Karasu figured she would come back later and grab something to eat. She hadn’t had barbeque beef in a long time. That will have to wait till after her visit with the Hokage.
The walk to the Hokage office was always pleasant. Karasu felt grateful for being in such a great village. Nothing like she had grown up with when she was younger. Those memories of surviving and hiding who she was in every village she and her father had gone to are finally pushed back to the back of her mind. It still pops up every now and then but the Leaf Village has wrapped a warm blanket over the bad memories that Karasu rarely entertains them anymore. She thought about the recent knowledge she gained on the Frost in the library. There was still a lot she didn’t know but she wanted to be able to prevent future scenarios. This is why she entered the Diplomat division in the first place. That and how she grew up were influencing her motives on how to change what she could or at least have some effect on political fronts with other nations and villages. She couldn’t wait to get started.
She could see the Hokage’s building in the near distance. Karasu walked with a spring in her step as she approached the big orange building. She didn’t come here often, only when it was important. Karasu wanted to make the most of her visit. She walked up the steps and nodded to the several guards she passed by. She entered the hallway and acknowledged some of the Shinobi that were present. She finally got to the office of the Hokage and knocked on the door hoping that she wasn’t bothering Lady Fifth. The last time she was in here was with Lord Fourth. Karasu remembered the piles of paper stacked so high that it was enough to give Karasu a headache. The work of the Hokage is never finished. She would always keep that in mind. She put her hands behind her back and waited patiently for the invite inside while she was thinking of what she would say.
