Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

His companions had cleaned the area up well. Around the Isaki was a clearing in the forest that was centered around a large temple of golden bricks. Scorch marks lined the inside of the temple showing where an insane, power mad shinobi had killed his own followers in a fit of desire. This contrasted with the fact that the ground underfoot was damp and wet, after effects from one of his own betrothed's better aimed assaults from that night. But this was not the place of their meeting.

Hoshikata would head deeper into the forest, letting the spirits of the forest guide him. He saw them clear as day, these souls that belonged to the dead of this land. People who had killed themselves, or been killed, people who had come here for love and companionship and died finding neither or both and old in their beds. He saw them all, and they were leading him to the secluded area he sought. Soon he found it, and parted a wall of foliage to enter it.

Hoshikata wore his black robes with gold trim, and on his feet were supple black boots of fine leather. His hood was up to hide his long, shock white hair from sight, but the glimpses any would catch under it would be of his golden-tinted skin and those eyes. Rings of white around rings of gold around black hourglasses. His stare saw through you to the soul itself, to the very core of your spirit.

He grabs a clump of dirt and blows onto it, letting the life of his own body enter it. And then he drops it. Where it falls a hand rises from the soil, and soon an arm. Within moments a full skeleton stands before him, bowing its head and awaiting orders from its god. ”Bring my brother to me. And that woman.”

A skeleton summon bringing them into a dark forest? What could possibly go wrong with that? Well, in truth, Karurosu was not concerned with the location. He knew Hoshikata's strength, it wasn't something he dare even try to match. Nor did he want to; the Isaki knew about the exodus, and was extended the offer to join them. He had refused and not without reason. The two brothers' fates seemed to continuously intertwine, even as both diverged onto what seemed as different roads. Hoshikata left the homeland of the Isaki, where they reigned as one of the great clans for the better part of an age; Karurosu rose into power and now acted as one of the three leaders of a nation. Allegiances were easy enough to show and power always went to those who flaunted it most obviously. True allegiances, however, weren't broken once made. Karurosu had only one of those.

The Sennin's breath fogged in the area, releasing a puff of breath coloured with each exhale. He was jacketed in something of a furred-appearing trench jacket. Nothing fancy. Nothing worth caring about when traveling these strange lands. Hoshikata wanted to speak to him, Karurosu wished to exchange words. The area was unexceptional. Trees and ruins, nothing special.

Nothing special, at least, until the scenery finally had another included within. Hoshikata. Meeting the clan's leader glare was the younger brother's grey eyes, unwavering in its own. "Dalninuk," Karurosu acknowledged Hoshikata with the single word. A simple word of what they were beyond the politics of the clan. Beyond being leader and heir.

"Usstan kestal dos kampi'un ussta yikiar."

He frowns as the other speaks, tossing his staff into the earth to let go of it before walking closer to the other, his hand shooting out suddenly to point off into the distance. ”There is also a woman coming who carries a similar scent to this one. Bring her here.” The skeleton nods before lumbering off to find Hoshi, leaving the two brothers of the Isaki alone. As the black moon, the new moon, rises overhead in invisible silence, Hoshikata continues to frown at his younger sibling.

In truth he had to make a decision here, and tonight, about this one before him. Many called him a traitor to the clan yet the leader of the clan knew that to be false. Many more called him the mewling kitten of Kiri, which was something Hoshikata couldn't refute since he had no clue what held his brother to the village still.

”Usstan xun naut. Bihurr ol ulu uns'aa. Vlos zhah mzild halt taga niar, tangis'horreur niar. “ And there it was. Give him a chance to explain his part in things, to tell why he made his decision.

Another was coming? A woman? Likely one from his guard, and given that Hoshikata thought Daiki to be a "bitch," it could be quite possibly her, Karurosu saw no reason why Hoshikata might wish to speak with Hanako. Karurosu didn't bring Daiki along with him simply due to her leave once they entered the village. Perhaps it was better that way. It gave Karurosu a moment to speak with the other Isaki.

Hoshikata wanted to know why. This was something beyond even his understanding, was it? Something so simple, too. How the great seemed only to focus on what was greater; they left what seemed insignificant, negligible, the "trifles," alone and forgotten.

"Dalninuk..." the younger Isaki would repeat, "dos zet l'inlu'darla, xuil uns'aa zexen'umain, olt z'ress zhah k'jakr dosst's. L'byr ventash'man ph'yibin-willed, pi'rescho torthus, tangis'Masa," he spoke softly. "The other clans burn bright like candles. It takes a flame that will last, one that has lasted, to rule." They were words, albeit slightly twisted, he had heard from Hoshikata.

"L'inlu'darla d'horreur zhah dosst's."

The frown on his face doesn't abate with the explanation. Of course it was his, all of it was his. All of that place, all of this place, the entire world was his own. A god did not bow to mortal governments, though Hoshikata saw no sense in purposely antagonizing them. Whereas Karu thought he wasn't seeing something simple above the grand, in truth he saw no need for that simple use over the grand scheme of things.

”L'inlu'darla d'Horreur orn zuch tlu usst, nau selg'tarn vel'bol shinule xuil olt luox. Kle'val nindyn oolos vel'uss mir l'yorn nin nindel udos morfel, l'Isaki ph'l'ditronw'urn kult'ressinend'nindel thac'zil lu'ol orn neitar wund'akh ulu jaluss jhal udossa. “

He turns swiftly to head to his staff and pulls it free from the soft earth, turning once more to face Karu. ”Ssussun” at his command a soft white light spills forth, and he once more plants it between them, stepping around it and making the inside of his hood a shadow once more.

”Lu'lu'oh xun dos inth ulu Milith dosst zin'olhyrran ulu dosst fuma? “

Hoshikata dared to question his loyalty! The one who had watched his brother from his shadow, learning what he could of the political sphere, using what he learned to slowly rise in power, under Yojimbo, under Koroki, and now acting as the Medical Sennin. Karurosu acted on each of the demands of the clan, following them to each uttered and unspoken letter. The village had always been the home of the Isaki; we were there before the other clans settled the islands. That much was true. By the village, Karurosu didn't mean its people. The shinobi were a simple type, they looked to a leader and mindlessly followed them. Few got out of line and demonstrations were made to keep the rest in.

Since battling the Deep One, Hoshikata had been different. At first, those differences were subtle. This...this here made it more than obvious. Those encounters changed him. He saw himself as something better than a god. Was he? It wasn't alone that he defeated the Deep One. People died; spirits assisted. Karurosu assisted in a way Hoshikata hadn't anticipated. His deification was one for himself alone. And yet...what other mortal could ever say he accomplished what he had?

"Usstan inbal zhu'lect dos, dalninuk, ussta entire dro. Harl l'clans kyorl lu'doeb d'dosst elhear, Usstan inbal screus. Usstan veldrinus. Hoshi walked into the forest with a skeleton escorting her to said place. She had seen both Karurosu and Hoshikata in an area, and had figured it was them before she had arrived, due to remembering their chakra colors. She had activated her sharingan into its Mangekyou form while trying to keep her calm. "What do you want, Hoshikata?"<i></i> She asked, the sound of annoyance in her voice, though she was showing that she was trying to keep her calm.

His frown does finally fade at the words from his brother, explaining all the boy has done and saying it was without his clan. Hoshikata lets him finish before laughing softly. ”Dos talinth dosst kaas inbalus naubol ulu xun xuil nindel? He looks up at Hoshi enters the field and reaches back to his staff, a quick word making the light brighten in a flare before fading to dark. ”How is chuunin treating you, Hoshi?” She never could be courteous, never could be seen to be nice. Not this one. Hoshikata hated that about her. ”I'm amazed Masa left such a delicate mission to such a low ranked shinobi....”

“We didn’t know the Daiki clan was a bunch of bloody shapeshifters! Vile bloodliners, you never know what low down dirty trick they’re capable of!” a voice called out from the darkness, interrupting Hoshikata’s insult about low ranking Chuunins. Indeed, the last they had seen Hoshi, she had brown hair and the ugliest red outfit. But they recognized him, by the way she spoke, how annoying her voice was and by the thrum of her emotions, the tempo, the torque of the human being. “You were a lot less displeasing to the senses the last we saw you Hoshi, prostrated on the ground and begging for our forgiveness for your uncultured behaviour,” one twin laughed as the other nodded in agreement before murmuring: “Your fashion has improved quite a bit though. Only a bit.”

The twins appeared out of the darkness, across Hoshikata so that the two still citizens of their native country stood between them. They had merely been walking about Cloud when they saw, felt the undead moving about and followed it from an all too familiar scene with all too familiar people. Hoshikata had told them to wait as he brought in two others they particularly didn’t like. One for being a rude and dirty bloodliner with her disgusting pirated Uchiha eyes and one for being that annoying Isaki brat.

The two were clad in dark vests with red undershirts and dark pants, looking very much like two strapping, young gentlemen ready to host an evening tea party. The smiles on their faces were friendly enough, if it weren’t for the tone in their voice. They nodded in greeting to Hoshikata and threw toothy grins at Karurosu. This time, they addressed the boy in unison: “Why, look! It’s the Isaki’s prodigal son. Have you come to your brother to beg for his forgiveness and ask to rejoin the family, hm?”

There, Hoshikata's much-maligned brother in front of them. Tatsuya would wait and see as to his response, but he would hold no quarter for traitors. You obeyed the leader of your clan, pure and simple. Karurosu should have come along with them, since the Isaki clan had been called to and he had clearly not been told otherwise. He curled his lip in contempt.

"You can't expect decent behaviour from bloodliners. They struggle enough with their dirty blood as it is," he said lightly, stepping out of the shadows and dropping the mantle of void from his shoulders. The light had been a signal, and there was no point staying out of sight while his siblings spoke up anyway. "I have to admit I'm curious as to why Masa would send a Chuunin to guard a Sennin. Did she run out of competent ninja?"

Or perhaps ANBU ran out of hounds for her to set on the hunt. Mist's forces were probably suffering--no, almost definitely, if a disgraced Chuunin was to guard a Sennin. Or perhaps it was a subtle punishment from Masa for both of them--Karurosu as a traitor, and...well, he didn't know the woman, but his siblings did, and apparently she wasn't even worthy of the rank from Hoshikata's crack.

"Rather merciful, to give you a chance at all," he commented lightly, eyes on Karurosu but one on Hoshi out the corner of his eye. "If you were my brother, I'd already have run you through for the betrayal--or perhaps something more creative than that."

Though he ought to have appeared menacing, in truth he looked and sounded bored. That was quite different from his actual emotions--he was on the border of anger, depending on the response they'd get.

Life was an interesting thing; sometimes you grabbed it by the horns, and did things your own way, but in some rare occurrences it did just that to you, and pulled you to where you were most needed. Kouin stood at the edge of the Ancient Forest, and watched as Hoshikata spoke with... Karurosu! The Medical Sennin??! What's he doing here? And other, who apparently a Daiki Hoshi, which from what he could hear was a disgrace for a ninja... He watched as the twins and Tatsuya join the scene with Hoshikata, Seems like none of them enjoy the presence of this Hoshi fellow.. He grasped his sash and tossed it to the side, and slowly pulled out his mist anbu mask which was given to him by his father, I'm sorry... He made a crack in it going a third of the way down, and tied it at his waist, and approached the group, and moved near Tatsuya, he seemed to be the friendliest, or at least the most sane.

Stepping forward for a moment, but not too close, he studied Karurosu and Hoshi, and he felt a deep anger for them being here, why couldn't they just leave? He could feel his Santaru blood boiling, his father never told mentioned this would happened, but he didn't feel out of control, he could just feel the storm approaching. He could feel the clouds darken, and lightning crack the sky, and rain muddle the grounds, he could feel it all, I am Kaze Kouin He took a slight pause in his speech and reached down for his mask, which had the mist symbol on it, but now in half due to the crack, Former Anbu Black Ops of Mist under the former leadership of Kasumi Masa now Mizukage. He tossed his masked to Karurosu, My parting gift... To the dear ruler of Mist, may she know my name. With the relinquishment of his mask he took his step back, and stood beside Tatsuya as the the rain began to pour, and the lightning more frequent.

And then his comrades appeared. The appearance of Akane was a pleasant surprise, as well as that of Kouin. Tatsuya, however, had been given his signal to show, the flaring of the light. Hoshikata chuckles as insults are flung all about, his golden eyes taking in the irony of the moment. Where he had been outnumbered it was now the opposite form. ”Hoshi, you never told me you knew my fiancée. Shame, I might have been more lenient had I known you’d already humiliated yourself before her.”

The light from the staff grows brighter, making him a shadow as the intensity spills over his form. ”Dalninuk!” One word, and to all present it would be obvious who it was meant for. ” Dos ssinssrin ulu Milith dosst zin'olhyrran? Xxizz udossa elgg ilta.” As he speaks, he nods to Hoshi. Karu’s choices would be obvious. Join them or don’t. ” Xor, ka dos ph'naut zin'olhyrr, t'yin fre'sla rath lu'kyorl.”

Hoshi listened to what hoshikata had said, before responding. "I'm working my way back up."<i></i> She said, before noticing four more people arriving. There was Akane and Akihiko, but Hoshi didn't know the other two who had arrived. One of them had introduced himself as Kaze Kouin, and had tossed his ANBU mask over to Karu. She then heard Hoshikata speak once more.

"We had never met after I had met her. Nor did I know she was your fiance, Hoshikata."<i></i> She said, waiting for the fight that she could see happening, as well as to see which side Karurosu would choose, seeing as she was going to die when this fight ended, seeing as she was out numbered and out matched.

"Guu'lac l'z'ress d'ussta wiles 'zil dos al, dalninuk, jhal ussta zin'olhyrran ulu l'ka'lum zhah zif," got the last word in to Hoshikata just before all the others appeared. Was it a trap? No...Karurosu understood. Hoshikata would have his way, one way or another. He wasn't the kind who would leave a chance for a plan to fail.

"Friends?" Karurosu would pose the question. The two Shoukyou tenured medics and two others he didn't know, no doubt strong enough to give reason for Hoshikata to summon them. Their words were meant to infuriate the two Kiri-nin, likely, but their words fell short for the Sennin. Anger would lead to a quicker death, and Karurosu had no intention of dying just yet.

When the final joiner of this party came forward and tossed the mask his way, Karurosu would move his hand and arm ever so slightly as to catch it. The mask's obvious crack was recent and obvious, but its purpose could still serve. Perhaps like him? This was no time to be making analogies, really. Come on, Karu, you need to pay more attention to the important stuff.

"It is a bit late," the younger Isaki would respond to the one naming himself Kouin, "however, I think she will remember." The rain went to make this tense scene more fitting. Seriously, it seemed like all the dramatic deaths had them.

Karurosu would, again, meet the hourglass pupils of his brother's as his final demand was made. So, this in order to prove loyalty? It was...understandable, at the very least.

"Mu'huey ilta solen."

As the rain fell and his brother said his words, Hoshikata would let a feral smile overcome his features. That Karu asked the Shoukyou about being friends, as well as his other companion, meant he understood his place in the scheme of things here. Hoshikata would turns his eyes now to Hoshi, the grin fading into a grimace. This one had been a thorn in his side for too long.

He recalled their first meeting, when he was the new Mizukage of Mist. Hoshikata had called her to him as he was assembling a group to be his security as he visited the other villages. She had acted like orders from her commander had been a nuisance, had grown petulant like a child until he threatened to remove her from her job. And their second, when he let her into the village and she compared his rule to Yojimbo's. While she found his favorable, she found a way to sneak in an insult.

But the true anger had come at their last meeting. She had denied an outright order, had tried to act like she had a position to bargain with him from. And he had made good on his previous threat and demoted her. But the encounter left a sour taste in his mouth, knowing she thought herself better than him.

No one was better than him. He was a god.

The two’s synchronized giggling filled the air, echoing eerily, when their elder brother spoke of dirty blood. “A Chuunin? The last we saw, you were Jounin! Tsk, tsk, but we guess you deserved it, considering what attitude problems you had,” they hummed, tilting their heads to the side. They stared unabashedly without blinking, gazes never faltering as they watched the Daiki woman like a pair of Siamese cats would watch a mouse trapped in between them. That was what this was, predators playing with the prey they should have taken care of a long time ago. It was a long time coming but they had been held back by the laws of their village… well, guess what, they weren’t villagers anymore.

They didn’t care about Karurosu at the moment, focusing on the dirty bloodliner. As far as they could see, there was no need to worry about the, apparently, current Medical Sennin. He was far weaker, less experienced than any of the shinobi present in the forest. And Karurosu was Hoshikata’s business… for now. They’ll trust him to take care of his errant little brother and see how it goes from there.

The forest was humming with tension, no matter how well they all masked it. And the two knew, just from that feeling alone that a fight was going to break out. They’ve been doing a lot of that, haven’t they? First, breaking out a guy from jail and there was that cult leader, that battle which had just been a ways away from here. Not that they were complaining but it was getting tiring, one fight after another and no time for any of their old routine.

"Demoted? Hm." Tatsuya shrugged carelessly. "That doesn't happen often. Haven't ever heard of it except in spook stories, in fact. Oh well."

If Hoshikata had done it, he must have had a good reason for it. Technically, he'd also been demoted himself, from Sennin to Jounin--and there had, at the time, been a good reason for that. Then there was the twins' reaction toward this woman--they wouldn't both being so openly disdainful over bloodline ancestry alone.

And it was doubtful they'd kill someone just for any of that, though some of their ancestors had espoused such a thing before.

Kouin certainly had a flair for the dramatic, though. He had to give him that. Unnecessary drama, but, well, that was allowed. The whole situation was overly dramatic. Really, everyone there was some kind of drama queen in their own way, though for some it was more a game than others.

Karurosu didn't seem to recognize him any more than Hoshi did. Well, then. Certainly he'd never been a medic, but it was annoying how no one from Mist really did these days.

Oh well. They were past that.

And unlike a couple people there, he understood the words the two Isaki spoke and what they meant, and knew what he was supposed to do.

Time to play...

He assumed the time for talk was over, they would now be letting their actions speak louder than words. Let's make this as painless as possible, ok? A grin wiped across his face as he spoke those words. He would now be having the pleasure of eliminating two potential threats to his own well-being, and from what he can hear, a scourge to his kind.

The fellow named Hoshi was apparently a Jounin level nin, but got demoted for some unknown reason, but it seems the four don't seem that surprised by that fact. What did he do anyways... He then paid the notion no mind, as it probably wouldn't matter anymore after this.

It's too late for many things... Just like it was too late for him to turn back now, he's gone too far, and broke too many rules to be able to go back now. For your sake I hope she does. Like sands in the hourglass so does everything else fall, Time must pass, and bodies will fall.

The time was neigh, and the sky was high, but no one can deny that this was pretty fly, Why rhyme like it's a crime, you might just get fined and found in a bind.

Show time.
