Suri was sniffling and starting to lose her composure. The fiery redhead did not want her life to end just yet. Everyone knew though that there was an element of danger present. Such was revealed the moment they had found Houjin battling the three bandits. Although it seemed that Houjin had done a number on them, and them to him it seemed like a hostage was the ultimate trump card. The bandit gritted his teeth. "Nice and slow. I'm going to get myself out of here. I'm sure you'll want to save the girly, but you ain't. No easily." He threatened. He eyed Riyota and then he eyed Tsubaki. He then eyed Houjin. "Alright fatman. If you go and cause an earthquake, I'm gonna cut some throats. It'll be real simple." Fortunately he had taken his eyes off of Tsubaki. The motions followed and Tsubaki had thrown down a risky play. She attempted to merge with and or take over the foe's mental landscape. There was a long moment of pause. Tsubaki had catapulted her mental self into the enemy. This was her first attempt doing so. Her physical body would fall limp.
Tsubaki was indeed lucky on her first attempt and did make the mental connection. It was foggy, she could feel her enemy fighting her, but more importantly there was confusion. Tsubaki was subjected fear. Fear of the unknown. The bandit's mind was fighting her back, but he was very much afraid of not being in control of his body. WHO DID IT? THE LARGE OAF COULDN'T HAVE. THE LITTLE GIRL I'M HOLDING? PROBABLY NOT! WAS IT THE BOY? It didn't take much longer for the man to figure out who was indeed controlling him. Tsubaki was threatened by a man without much to offer. It took her several seconds, but he did drop the knife. The blade landed in the stand, and Suri looked down to seeing the blade no longer threatening her with her life.
"What sorcery is this?" Houjin's eyes widened. The giant could not fathom what had happened. He noted that Tsubaki had fallen over. The giant looked to her and then to the fall knife. It took the giant a moment to make the connection himself. "Hoh." He managed to crawl his way over to protect Tsubaki's body as well joining Riyota. More importantly Houjin had brought his hammer too.
Tsubaki could feel the enemy's frustration mount up as he finally pushed her out of his mind. "Damned brats!" He roared finally back in control. Tsubaki's mind rejoined her own body. The enemy was looking back to get his knife now leaving himself open to an attack. Houjin merely smiled as his enemy blundered. The giant slammed the ground with his hammer and caused the bandit to lose his footing falling backwards unto the handle of the knife, and more importantly Suri fell in the opposite direction.
