Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

BattleCraft 2 (Exam)

Suri was sniffling and starting to lose her composure. The fiery redhead did not want her life to end just yet. Everyone knew though that there was an element of danger present. Such was revealed the moment they had found Houjin battling the three bandits. Although it seemed that Houjin had done a number on them, and them to him it seemed like a hostage was the ultimate trump card. The bandit gritted his teeth. "Nice and slow. I'm going to get myself out of here. I'm sure you'll want to save the girly, but you ain't. No easily." He threatened. He eyed Riyota and then he eyed Tsubaki. He then eyed Houjin. "Alright fatman. If you go and cause an earthquake, I'm gonna cut some throats. It'll be real simple." Fortunately he had taken his eyes off of Tsubaki. The motions followed and Tsubaki had thrown down a risky play. She attempted to merge with and or take over the foe's mental landscape. There was a long moment of pause. Tsubaki had catapulted her mental self into the enemy. This was her first attempt doing so. Her physical body would fall limp.

Tsubaki was indeed lucky on her first attempt and did make the mental connection. It was foggy, she could feel her enemy fighting her, but more importantly there was confusion. Tsubaki was subjected fear. Fear of the unknown. The bandit's mind was fighting her back, but he was very much afraid of not being in control of his body. WHO DID IT? THE LARGE OAF COULDN'T HAVE. THE LITTLE GIRL I'M HOLDING? PROBABLY NOT! WAS IT THE BOY? It didn't take much longer for the man to figure out who was indeed controlling him. Tsubaki was threatened by a man without much to offer. It took her several seconds, but he did drop the knife. The blade landed in the stand, and Suri looked down to seeing the blade no longer threatening her with her life.

"What sorcery is this?" Houjin's eyes widened. The giant could not fathom what had happened. He noted that Tsubaki had fallen over. The giant looked to her and then to the fall knife. It took the giant a moment to make the connection himself. "Hoh." He managed to crawl his way over to protect Tsubaki's body as well joining Riyota. More importantly Houjin had brought his hammer too.

Tsubaki could feel the enemy's frustration mount up as he finally pushed her out of his mind. "Damned brats!" He roared finally back in control. Tsubaki's mind rejoined her own body. The enemy was looking back to get his knife now leaving himself open to an attack. Houjin merely smiled as his enemy blundered. The giant slammed the ground with his hammer and caused the bandit to lose his footing falling backwards unto the handle of the knife, and more importantly Suri fell in the opposite direction.

Being in the mind of a conscious individual was... different than what she had expected. The sleeping mind, as she quickly discovered those years ago, was much less able to assert itself and she had only had issues with her presence a handful of times there. Now, it felt like there were chains strapped to her ephemereal limbs that struggled to wretch her from the man's mind as she struggled to keep from being ejected like the unwelcome intruder that she was. Everything was hazy, foggy and even her own mind had trouble keeping itself focused as the fear that permiated the area seeped into her own sub-consicous.

Tsubaki felt the handle of the knife in his hand, the small girl's body pressed against his and the sweat dripping that was undoubtedly seeping from every pore. These sensations weren't hers, they were his, but even through the mental haze that surrounded her she could still feel them. Stubbornly resisting the chains that fought against her, desperately trying to keep her from her goal. His mind was weak compared to hers, but she was inexperienced, desperate and did not possess the battle-hardened edge that the bandit wielded. It took almost all of her effort to open her hand, feeling the grip of the blade loosen and eventually fall helplessly to the ground. A wave of relief washed over Tsubaki, the girl was out of immediate danger. However, as her emotions softened, his flared up in frustration at the girl's manipulation. With a final yank, she felt her hold on his mind weaken and snap as the chains reeled back, finally pulling her from the man's psyche as he regained full control over his body.

Blackness ensued for a sliver of eternity before it was replaced by the head of the sand and the familiar weight of her own body. Like crawling back into a suit of armor, it took Tsubaki far too long to regain herself, and by the time she was able to open her eyes, she felt her body fall more completely onto the sand as the giant hammer quaked the ground under her. Then, as if awaking from a deep sleep, she slowly began to move, pushing herself up to a sitting position as she looked around to see Ryota and Houjin nearby. Her eyes continued to search, looking unfocused and dreary as she finally caught sight of her teammate free of the man's clutches. As her body finished rebooting, she smiled, looking back over towards Ryota for him to end this before the man took his frustration out in whatever way possible.

The boy worried for both his comrades, if Tsubaki messed this up, it would mean not only certain doom for Suri but possibly even Tsubaki herself. Riyota didn't want to pass the exam if it meant his comrades ended up dead. However, it seemed his worries would be short lived as the bandit slowly and shakily dropped his knife. As he cursed and spat and just generally threw a hissy fit, Riyota quickly checked on his dazed comrade. As the bandit attempted to reclaim his weapon Houjin smashed the ground, which caused Riyota to nearly do a complete somersault. Quickly coming back to his senses, he caught Tsubaki's eye and knew what he needed to do. Sprinting forward as fast as he could go, he got to the bandit who was only just getting to his feet. The boy quickly knocked the man's legs out from beneath him, before putting his hands behind him and launching himself off the ground feet first, right into the bandits back. If his attack hit, his opponent would either lose consciousness or be too winded to do much for the time being. Getting to his feet once more, Riyota would jog to check that Suri was alright.

Suna nin 1 Bandits 0.

Riyota landed a knockout blow when he landed on the back of the bandit. It was foreceful enough to knock him out. It was a good thing too as Houjin dropped to the ground with a mighty thud. Clearly the giant was tired out. "Well done lad. Well done." He spoke. If the team surveyed the giant they would notice something quite disturbing. The giant had several daggers poking into him. At least six. His injuries did not stop there. He had scrapes, bruises, but luckily he was in one peice. "There were eleven of them originally. I got the lot of em, but they were very pesistent about making me put down my hammer." The giant sat breathed deeply. "You kids came here under Mako's orders?" He questioned as he was taking a moment to relax and catch his breath. He wiped the swat from his brow.

Suri looked at Riyota and Tsubaki. "Uhm. Let's patch this guy up."<i></i> She said as she pulled out the bandages. "Oh. Thank-you Tsubaki and you too Riyota. What you did was like really cool! With the flipping and the ... uh ... somehow making the man drop his knife."<i></i> The red headed Hyuuga beamed at the two students. She smiled at the girl and the boy and began to pull out the bandages. She fumbled a bit, but used her teeth to tear open the package. She looked wearily over Houjin and then to Riyota. "Hey Riyota. Gimme a boost. This dude is huge. He is like the size of like three bears."<i></i> She hoped that Riyota would come over and one way or another help her up to begin putting the bandages on the big guy.

"Houjin doesn't need bandages. Huojin needs foes to smash." The giant rumbled. His pride was indeed a sore spot. The fighter had helped Sungakure out of many a jam before. He had helped out during the Magentica crisis. During the battle with the Cabal, Houjin unfortunately was not able to bask in the glory of pummeling his foes into a fine mush. Well, not really, he was able to keep the civilian population safe by acting as a body guard. The thugs that had roamed the streets were indeed very much afraid of the hulking giant, and his Titan Hammer. "Huojin does have a very strange pain in his shoulders. It is like needle. It stings." Clearly the giant was not aware that he had several daggers sticking out of him. "We should head west. Go find Al-Haqquish. He is a doctor too, of a different sort. Not ninja. Not fighter. He uses shadows to knit wounds together. He looks like a bird with all of his feathers." Houjin suggested. The giant stroked his beard. "There is also the twins Dae and Night. They are little people. They are sorcerers. Not sure where they be. I told them to stick with me, but then we were attacked. Most troublesome."

Pushing herself slowly to fer feet as the titan did the opposite, Tsubaki proceeded to survey the area as everything finally came back together. If she was to ever use that technique in a real confrontation, she would need to practice. Had things gone worse and her teammates were not there to protect her. Tsubaki's thoughts trailed off as Riyota and Suri began attempting to tend to Houjin's injuries, though the mountain of a man did not seem interested in receiving any treatment.

On one hand, they could force the issue and bandage him up anyway, but she had no other supplies on her other than the wraps which were half-covered in sand on the ground beside her. On the other hand, could anyone really force the behemoth to do anything he didn't want? That, and she doubted he would understand anything she would attempt to sign to him, not that she would admit sit, but people who had muscles of any significant degree usually seemed to lack in other... area.

Deciding she would leave the other two to either tend to him or to leave his wounds, she knelt over and picked the roll of bandages off the ground. She would then stand at the ready, waiting for either a call of assistance to help the pair with tending to him if they required it, or to set off in search of these others. In either case, she kept her eyes open and alert as she surveyed the area for any potential threats, potentially including the mostly incapacitated bandits.

The boy went a little bit red in the face at Suri's comment on his method of taking down the bandit. "Oh...uh, that...it...that wasn't...it was nothing." he smiled awkwardly, quite glad that his comrade was unharmed. He walked over to the giant at Suri's request and knelt down with one hand overlapping the other in order to boost her on top of Houjin. After that was finished he looked at Tsubaki and gave her a light smile. "I'm not too good with the medical stuff, do you think you could give me a hand?" He asked, pulling some bandages out of his pouch.

Whether Tsubaki helped him or not he would attempt to deal with the large man's wounds as the giant almost demanded that he be treated by people who sounded like they might be professionals. "Yeah, that sounds all well and good, but if you collapse on the way there I'm not dragging you. So you'll just have to deal with out bandaging for now." he told Houjin, very much aware of the fact that the giant could turn him to paste at any second.

Suri with the boost up managed to get on Houjin's arm and worked her way up. She got all the way up his shoulders. It was just like climbing up a book shelf or the tree that her parents had in the house before the Cabal came. The Hyuuga smiled at Riyota and she began to pluck the daggers from Houjin's back. The giant seemed to not notice this for the most part, until she removed a machete from his back. The giant let out an 'oooh' sound as it was pulled. The giant gave Riyota a sour look as he was being told by the boy. The giant looked like he may have flattened the boy, but not he patted him on the head. "Yes. Houjin would not like being dragged by the tykes through this terrible business." He spoke referring to each of them. It would be an amusing image. A sled contraption and each of the little ones pulling him along as he laid there unconsciously. The giant would laugh which almost caused Siri to lose her balance on his shoulder. "Why does the other lass not speak up?" Huojin would ask. Siri would exchange glances with Tsubaki as he was talking about her. Siri wasn't sure why she didn't speak much either. For all intents and purposes, Siri though that Tsubaki was just a shy person.

As the group continued to work on Houjin they were graced by Mako who would emerge rather suddenly. The veteran's military garb was bloodied, and she was smoking not one but two cigarettes. The veteran looked at the company present. "Okay."<i></i> She muttered. "I expected two of you dead, and one of you missing an arm. The fact that the much of you are alive is good."<i></i> She spoke from behind her teeth. Clearly Mako had been roughed up by what she had engaged. "Finish patching him up. I got intel on our other friends."<i></i> She added, but before going on she seemed to need a moment to herself in order to catch her breath, which was probably more of her just chilling out for a moment considering she was smoking two cigarettes. Tsubaki more so than the others was being given a hard look. Just how was the mute actually getting this far without having spoken a word? She looked at the ground and saw the number of daggers taken out of Houjin. "Damn. What are you a sheath for bandit swords?"<i></i> Mako was met was answered by not words but by a glare from the giant.

As it became more apparent that the walking pin-cushion-of-bladed-weaponry was not going to grind any of them into fine dust for attempting to remedy that moniker, Tsubaki seemed to reluctant toss aside her concerns as she walked over to assist the pair in their bandaging. While she did not have any of her salves or ointments to help tend the wounds, she had the wraps which would help staunch any bleeding until proper medication could be applied. So, with a silent sigh, she stepped over towards the mountain and began attempting to assist, as it quickly became quite apparent that she likely knew much more about the art than either of her teammates. Tsubaki pulled a knife out of the man's right calf, slowly and steadily as to not aggravate the wound, wondering how he was able to even stand when a shallow cut from the blade would have had her curled into a ball of pain. She wiped the blood off of it with the bandage before sliding it into the belt around her hips, it could come in hand later, should the need arise.

Her attention perked up as the giant seemed to reference her lack of speech, and for a moment she reflexively began to attempt to sign him a response. Although it was probably her prejudice talking, she stopped herself as she reasoned he wouldn't understand her anyway. So, she settled for closing her eyes as she reached out and placed her hand on his leg near the wound. A moment would pass and a young voice, not one unlike that which a girl such as Tsubaki might have, spoke in his mind with a soothing tone. 'I cannot speak.' With her message relayed, she let out a small strained breath, her energy still waning from her stunt earlier. She then would continue wrapping the wound as tightly as she could manage around the man's muscle, stanching the bleeding as their proctor appeared, unaware of the old woman's hard look as she tended to the human sheathe.

"So...where we headed next?" Riyota asked, sitting himself down on the ground next to the giant. Knowing he would not be able to scale the large man and doubted Tsubaki would want to boost him. "You seem to hint that there's more to come, and it sounds exciting." he grinned. "And I guess, 'Congrats you aren't dead' is the closest you'll get to a 'Good Job.' he remarked cheekily. He would keep one ear open for the veteran's response while he lay down on the ground and turned his head to speak to Tsubaki. "That weird mind invasion stuff is really cool! I doubt we would've gotten that guy if you didn't have that stuff. You must be really smart Tsubaki!" he beamed at her, hoping to inspire her confidence. Next he spoke to Suri, saying "Don't worry about getting caught out by that bandit, it could've happened to any of us. Besides, you seem to be doing really well at patching up the big guy." he smiled warmly at the other girl, hoping to make her feel better after the short ordeal. After the short pep talks, if the Veteran had answered his question, he would slowly get to his feet and get himself ready to go.

Tsubaki armed herself with the dagger she got from Houjin. Indeed, it could be useful for later. The giant looked at her curiously as she did that. "Houjin could pick his teeth with that." He would state more so in the form of idle chatter. With a little bit more work from the trio of them Houjin was up on his feet. The giant had stood up. Suri was on his shoulders trying to not fall over and he had picked up Riyota and holding him by the waist like he was a baby. He sat Riyota on his shoulder. The giant patted Tsubaki on her head. He heard the answer from her. To him it was most unsettling. "Cannot speak lass? Well. You don't need lips to speak to me. Or so it would seem. Sorcery." The giant grunted. He did not like sorcery. It did keep him alive though which was good. It kept his insides from falling out. The giant reached picked up Tsubaki next and placed her on his shoulder too. The giant would begin doing squats. It was an awkward sequence, but soon enough they would see what would happen next.

"Okay so. The twin sorcerers Dae and Nite have been... captured. It figures. Literally. They're small people. You know, that's the nice word for midgets, dwarfs, etc. etc. They're in some cage, and they're being poked at by bandits. You'd think bandits would have seen short people before. They haven't clearly. These bandits made a camp of sorts. We're gonna have to go break that down."<i></i> She shrugged her shoulder. "Now. Al'Haqquish. His situation is far more complicated. He's one of those ... shadow priest hoodoo-voodoo dudes. He hasn't been caught yet, not that I know of. Last time I seen him he was leading a group of like fifteen bandits on a merry chase through the desert using his spirit crow form? He ... turns into a bird. It's ... a thing. He was trying to get Dae and Nite freed, so the base is like ... less full now of bad guys to beat up."<i></i>

"Houjin will not stand for bullies. Houjin will smash them!" The giant declared as he picked up his giant hammer and smacked the ground with it. "Houjin needs more foes to break. Houjin wants to fight many foes. Save Al-Haqquish." He declared.

Mako face palmed. "I think the base is the easier route. It's empty. Save Dae and Nite and they'll help out with taking down their numbers. It wouldn't be a stretch to think that al-Haqquish is being chased by even more bandits by now. His dark magicks seem to attract alot more people. Dangerous ones too." She advised. Mako opened up her mouth but before she could say more Houjin had leapt into the air taking all three students with him. The giant was sailing through the sky. The team would see a fortress coming up in the distance. It was a sloppily built structure. They would land about three hundred metres away from it. What they would not see immediately was the cage holding up the twins. They would see a few house structures. Chances were they were in there.

"Houjin thinks Mako had something else to say... Maybe Houjin should have stayed. Tell me little ones. Do you want to enter with stealth? Or did you want to... strong bull in there?" The giant would ask as he set the three of them down.

Suri made an annoyed sound at Houjin's hasty nature. She looked to her two friends. She sighed finally. "Can Tsubaki do that thing again like she did to the bandit? Riyota and I could maybe work our way in. Can't be too hard, can it be?"<i></i>

Tsubaki smiled as Riyota praised her, keeping her gaze down and away from the the the other's view. She was not unused to receiving praise on occasion, but she still was not very capable of not becoming flush from it. Then, as Houjin spoke of her telepathy she continued to try hide her amusement at what he considered sorcery. It was perhaps a little hypocritical for her to find such amusment in his lack of understanding of her capabilities, but he was a shinobi after all, expecting the unexpected seemed to second on the 'to-do' list, second after not dying. That smirk did not last long, however, as it was quickly broken by a look of fright and surprise as she was hoisted up off the ground and placed onto the man's shoulder like some sort of doll. As he began to bop up and down from his squats she finally figured out what was going on, but it would be quite clear to Riyota that she had no pleasure in sitting atop this unstable mount.

Although still unsettled by her tall perch, a trait she would need to quell if she was to kneel at the edge of rooftops like any true shinobi did, presumably to look cool, Tsubaki did her best to listen to the explanation of the examination proctor. She was beginning to think this wasn't a simple examination at this point, and was simply a monitored mission. Houjin didn't seem to need her help at all, and if he wasn't there, she was unsure if they would have made it out of that last small skirmish as unscated as they were. Her thoughts did not have much time to dwell however, as she found herself propelled through the air atop the massive hulking behemoth. To her credit and benefit, she kept herself from screaming, an act that would have embarassed her so greatly that she might have buried herself in the sand whenever they finally landed on solid ground.

Clinging on for dear life, she gave silent thanks as they finally landed, her head more than a little jostled from the experience. Her hair was windswept mess and her eyes were still a little wide from the ride, but as Houjin set them down once by one, she managed to regain her composure as she looked around the immediate area. A piece of her wished to reach over and kick Houjin for leaping off so suddenly, but the only likely result would be breaking her toe from kicking solid rock and so she let it go with a simple frustrated breath. Straightening her skirt, Tsubaki looked from Riyota to Suri and then up to Houjin as the latter pair spoke of what they should do. She shook her head and began to sign to the trio, unknowing if the girl and hulk could even understand a single gesture. 'It is hard to aim, and it does not last very long. Are you feeling well enough to do this, Hulk-san?" As she finished, her attention shifted around, looking to see if there was any sort of fauna in the area she might be able to... borrow.

"Ok then, so we just need to OH CRAP!" Riyota's sentence was cut off by the sensation of suddenly being launched into the sky on the shoulders of a giant. It was almost graceful, in a way. Kinda like an eagle, piloting a blimp.

There was a minor bit of pain a dust becoming unsettled as he landed, wait, he? Wasn't he on the giant, the giant...which just landed...way away from him. Riyota groaned and slowly got to his feet, in a quite a lot of pain from the landing. It took him a few minutes but eventually he made it back to the rest of the group. "Guess I forgot to wear the seatbelt that didn't exist! That is the last time I fly with Huojin airlines." he chuckled, although most of his body still hurt. "Anywho, I forgotten the plan already, what are we doing again?"

Houjin sat himself down and folded his arms. He stared intently at Tsubaki as she made gestures. Houjin stared at her and then looked at Riyota and Suri. He didn't even understand a single thing. Suri on the other hand seemed to be picking up something. The child looked at Houjin who merely at this point looked skyward as he didn't seem to understand anything at all. "What is airline? Is it a giant line in the sky? Can I beat people with the line? Is it a line that needs following? Why is it a line? Spiral." Houjin proposed as he held his index finger up and began to spin it around and around. Clearly Houjin was more brawn than brain, but ... something that to be traded considering the size of the man. It wouldn't have been completely illogical either to think that Houjin wasn't a ninja either. Ninjas had to be cunning to the extreme in some circumstances. Houjin truly was neither. He was a fighter. Riyota spoke up of how he forgot the plan. "We have little people to save and foes to hammer. Dae and Nite. Great Sorcerers. Houjin knew their parents. Good people." Houjin then motioned to show them how big they were.

Suri puffed her cheeks once more. "I think the proctor sent us to baby-sit him."<i></i> She whispered to Tsubaki and Riyota. "People like him are ... what did mum call them? Gentle giants? She once told me giants came from the moon."<i></i> Again the child spoke in a hush hush tone. There was some stories, wild ones, of giant men coming from the moon seemingly? Houjin was very large. Not as large as an Akamichi. "Okay soooooo. Right. Granny-ninja wants us to save two little people. Can't be too hard right?"<i></i> Suri pointed to the fort. The building was well, maybe not structurally sound. It looked very rickety. Suri's expression soured. "Uhm..."<i></i> As she spoke, a chill wind would come upon them. The place looked empty, but in that it made it seem haunted. Suri looked to Riyota. "Uhm... so Tsubaki can't do that trick of hers easily again. You still have the weapons right? I uhm... think we should go for it and save those little people. I mean... they could be starving or something right?"<i></i> Suri would edge her way to the fort, at one point she got down and crawled towards the place as there was a slight hill of sorts.

After she made the signs and Houjin's attention broke off quicker than her little brother's did before dinner, Tsubaki sighed and figured that it must have been a lost cause. Feeling a moment of dejection, her attention passed from the puzzled Houjin and off to the horizon, his confusion and re-explanation roling off her without notice. Suri's sudden whispers did, however, catch her attention as she glanced back towards the girl as she finished. The Koizumi child looked over towards the gentle giant and then off towards the horizon as Suri continued to speak, dozens of considerations floating off through her head.

It was then that an idea popped into her head. She hurriedly shuffled over to the giant's side and placed a hand upon his side. "Rush in, make as big of a scene as you can. Beat up as many as you can. Break things. Be loud! Don't get hurt. Draw out the bad guys. We will sneak in and find Dae and Nite." As she finished relaying the message she would look up towards the mountain and give him an affirmative smile and nod before she would scoot over towards where Suri was perched, waving Riyota to come closer to them both. Once the duo was in arm's reach, she would attempt to touch them both before telepathically communicating with the pair. "Houjin can go in there, make a huge distraction to draw them out. We can sneak in, find and free the people while their captors are trying to handle him."

The plan made perfect sence to her. It was somewhat risky to the giant, but he had already been stabbed by a small army's worth of weapons and he didn't seem to be so much as winded. Once they returned she would want to make sure that he had no lasting injuries, but this seemed to be the best way to leverage the hulk's capabilities. She just hoped and prayed that this rash line of thinking didn't get anyone hurt...

I'm so glad everyone cares about the injuries I may have received Riyota mentally grumbled, but he decided not to dwell on it. He instead drew the two glaives that he had brought with him. "Tsubaki...I think two people would be better to sneak in and grab those guys. This area seems pretty narrow and a third person, especially me. Would just slow you down. I'll stay here with Houjin and help with the distraction, although he may not like to admit it, the big guy's going to need some backup." the boy smirked and a little bit of lightning flared out of his hands, unnoticed by him.

"Suri, are you able to use that Byakugan?" he asked her. If the girl responded with an affirmative he would continue on to say "Awesome, that means you can keep an eye on the entire situation whilst you and Tsubaki sneak in." however if she responded with a negative, the boy would simply say
"Damn." before continuing on to say. "If you guys need help, just call out. I don't want either of you dying, because that means we fail." he smirked slightly at that comment. After the small speech, he turned to Houjin and said "I bet I can beat more of them than you can." with a cocky smile, he signaled the girls to move before tossing a glaive at a bandit standing watch, in the hopes of taking out his legs and rendering him immobilized. Ideally the boy wouldn't kill anyone, he had already done it once, and he didn't ever want to do it again. If his glaive struck true he would say to the giant "One to me." before charging headlong in the camp.

Houjin's expression seemed to lighten up as Tsubaki suggested that he do what he could do best. Break foes with a hammer. The giant beat his chest soundly. That was indeed a mighty task, and one most worth his time. "Foes for the foe hammer! Yes!!" He roared with much vigor. When Riyota offered to help him out the giant clapped the boy on the back. It stung. "Houjin will not say no to receiving help from little one. Houjin will not make a challenge though. Usually Houjin likes to challenge his allies to a contest of who can defeat the most foes. Unfortunately Houjin was bested by Al'Haqquish who burst into a flock of birds and pecked multiple foes to death. It was a coward's way, but it worked." The giant revealed. Riyota then in fact challenged him. The giant again patted the boy and let out a giant laugh. "Hah. Houjin likes you. Challenge accepted."

At Riyota's request, Suri activated her Byakugan. Veins began to surface around her eyes as she focused on the small rickety fortress. "Two... four... six...? Six people are there that I can pick up on for chakra signatures. These people are trained if I can pick them up. Could be more..."<i></i> she turned to the trio of allies she had. Riyota went off to the races. His hasty nature surprised Houjin as Riyota threw his glaive and clipped someone off of the watch tower. The body fell and hit the ground soundly. "Okay. Five now."<i></i> Suri spoke as Riyota had pushed the envelope. Houjin ran past her and began to roar and bluster about. More thugs began to rally around the watch tower armed with bows. They opened fire upon the giant who deflected some of the arrows. He swung his weapon with such force a gale of wind pushed some of the arrows out of the way. Other arrows did connect, but Houjin did not seemed to be bothered after all. He was a living sheath after all. Another volley of arrows were fired and some flaming ones were sent at Riyota.

Suri would grab Tsubaki and would lead her the long way around. The two would travely swiftly to the side of the building. It was an undefended perimeter. The wall could be scaled if the two of them climbed up. Suri pointed up, she got on her knee and waited for Tsubaki to go first. She would give the mute nin a boost up to start climbing the wall.

"Foes for the foe hammer! Yes!!" Roared the mountain as Tsubaki turned her attention to Riyota, momentarily glancing behind her to make sure the giant had not already ran off with unbridled enthusiasm. "Tsubaki...I think two people would be better to sneak in and grab those guys. This area seems pretty narrow and a third person, especially me. Would just slow you down. I'll stay here with Houjin and help with the distraction, although he may not like to admit it, the big guy's going to need some backup." The young womman nodded, smiling that her plan seemed to be coming together for once. Perhaps things may continue to go her way and they all may make it out alive after all.

As Riyota and Suri spoke a few more words, she turned and stared off towards the encampment. mentally readying herself. Before she knew it, a momentary glint of metal caught her eye as the glave flew through the air, knocking a silloute from his perch. It wasn't long before the giant bellowed out a roar and rushed to catch up and surpoass Riyota, hoping to win some challenge that Tsubaki only have caught as she settled in her own mentality of focus. Moments later, she found her arm being pulled away from her, taking note that it was Suri, she scrambled her feet under herself and followed quickly after the shorter shinobi. A passing thought gave her a quick smile, part of her was surprpised she didn't need to suggest givng the camp a wide berth on their approach. It was certainly looking better and better, even if they were outnumbered.

Once Suri and herself reached the backside of one of the buildings, Tsubaki would pause a moment as Suri knelt down to give her fellow kunoichi a boost upwards. Taking the hind, Tsubaki quickly stepepd up and placed her hands on the wall. A brief pause followed as she channeled her chakra into her hands, forming a sticky layer between her hand an the wall. It was one of the most basic applications of chakra manipulation, but each time she did so it felt as surprising and surreal as the first. So, with one hand after the other, Tsubaki scaled up the side of the wall, working both quickly and quietly as she hurried her way towards the top. Once they reached one of the open windows, or if there were none, the top of the building, she would wait for Suri to climb up after her before she would hesitantly peek inside.

Once the other girl was within arm's distance, Tsubaki would then reach out and place her hand somewhere on the girl's form before she sent the girl a silent message. "You said something about seeing people? Did you see where the two were being held?" She knew nothing of what a Byakugan was, and silently chastised herself for not inquiring on the info before, but now was neither the time or place. Perhaps it simply meant she had very good sight, or some other strange ability. In either case, she would be foolish to go in blind if her teammate knew more than she.

Riyota laughed as the Giant refused to be bested, and the boy charged forth after the surprisingly swift Man, he saw many arrows and assorted other objects pierce Houjin's flesh, but decided not to worry about it yet. There was a challenge to be won after all. However just as the boy set himself up to leap an arrow came flying past and embedded itself into the side of his kneecap. Whether the arrow was intended for him or not, it had hit a critical point, and Riyota let out a cry of pain before falling to his knees. Gritting his teeth and ripping out the arrow, causing blood to splatter on the sand next to him. He shakily got to his feet, as a fire arrow narrowly missed him and caught his jacket instead.

Not having time to extinguish the flames, he simply shed the ignited piece of clothing. Fully revealing his black shirt and scarred arms. He tried to pick up speed again but the dead leg was proving detrimental and blood was leaking fast. He closed his eyes and attempted to gather chakra in his hand, when the little bit he needed made it he zapped the wound in an attempt to cauterize it. Yelping in pain once more, he threw the other glaive, this time however, he missed his target. Realising he wouldn't go unassailed much longer. He made a dash for the other Glaive as quickly as he could. As a few more well placed arrows would quickly end him.

Suri climbed up with a small bit of difficulty. The red headed Hyuuga fell silent for a moment as Tsubaki had asked her a question. The two girls entered through a window. The girl had to think for a moment. "Uhm..."<i></i> She would activate her eye technique again. "I don't know if magic counts as chakra... maybe?"<i></i> She thought about it for a moment. "Next room over. Two people with ... uh ... a unique signature. Must be them!"<i></i> The child ruled out as the two of them would cling to the wall and silently make their way around it. Suri almost tipped over a vase but the child caught it and held it. She looked at Tsubaki and was deciding whether or not to take the vase with them, for smashing purposes. Heads sometimes needed to be hit in order to get past obstacles. The two girls would with some rickety sounds would venture into the hallway. The two of them would come across an archway just a few meters over which would lead them into the room that Suri had mentioned holding the supposed twin sorcerers. The two of them would find a series of cages. Inside the cages were two dwarves, or 'small persons' as it were. The two of them were unconscious and were bruised. Night was the more feminine looking of the two, and Dae was the more masculine of the two.

"Hey."<i></i> Suri would reach into the cage and shake Date slightly. She was trying to wake him up. "Hey Tsubaki. Got any tricks to wake people up?"<i></i> The red head would ask of her comrade. The child looked around still holding onto the vase from earlier. She set the vase down for a moment.

Houjin watched as Riyota was being punctured with arrows. The giant made his way over to the boy being subjected to more arrows, but luckily for the two of them that did not stop Houjin. The ground quaked as the giant made his way over. The giant took several arrows in the back. He looked down and saw that his ally was not in good shape. He watched as the boy grabbed the glaive. "Huojin says not to believe in me, but believe in the self that of you that truly are." The giant began as he picked up the boy. He grunted slightly. "Well. Trust in Houjin's throwing arm. Hold your glaive pointy side out. Houjin thinks our challenge will come to a draw." The giant grappled the boy. He continued to shield him, but then he turned his head. He stomped the floor and the ground shook again. "Yes. Line up you fools. Line up for your doom." Houjin waited for a moment longer before hurling Riyota with quite a bit of force. The child rocketed across a great distance. Ka-Chunk. Ka-Chunk. Ka-Chunk Ka-Chunk. Dunk. By the time Riyota would come to his senses he would find out that that he had been used as an acessory to end the lives of the archers shooting at them. Most importantly he was hanging off of his glaive which had landed squarely on a door. It was a wild ride, but Riyota whether or not he realized it with the help of Houjin had just taken out all of the archers.

"Lad. You done ole Houjin proud. Now tell me that yer alive? We just bested many archers with the mighty Houjin Final Attack. Laddy-Doken."<i></i> Houjin would cry out from a distance.
