Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

In usual Yomi behavior, she had made up her mind long ago about throwing this party, however, she had only mentioned it to Asuka a week before hand. This left Asuka annoyed that she had to rush to do things, but, like the amazing person she was she never even broke a sweat at getting the details together.

Once Yomi decided on a theme they did a little photoshoot for the invitations. The Goddess was so effortless in front of the camera that only someone with no hands could potentially mess up the shoot. The chosen picture was immediately sent out as the invitation with the who what where and when. How they would get there was up to them.

Invitations were hand delivered to the Hokage, ANBU Sennin, Yuu Kenshin, Tamashii, Tenkawa Kaori, Reoku, and Ikou Ritsuko. Everyone else would hear about it via word of mouth or through the invitations posted all over the village and outer village, even as far as Crater City. It was a party to be had and all were welcome to attend. With the recent “incident” at the Hokage/Sennin offices, everyone needed a chance to unwind have fun and just forget it all…even if it were just for a couple hours. She was such a giving Goddess.

Asuka outdid herself. She would not ask for details about how she got the decorations up the way she did all about the coliseum. Yomi was certain it cost a pretty penny. There was tables a plenty for people to sit and eat the food that was laid out buffet style. It was catered by the local jaunts, Ichikaru's and Azumi’s Dango Shop. For people who'd rather dance than eat there was enough space for people to do so with a designated dancing area. The music was loud enough where people had to talk close to hear while simultaneously drowning out people trying to eavesdrop on others conversations. She managed to make the coliseum feel intimate by utilizing only half of its space and draping the sheer fabric across to create a canopy of sorts. Asuka even decided that instead of hiring some random person, she would be the bartender. Yomi tried to talk her out of it, but, she felt much better being able to watch the goings on from there and so the Medical Sennin acquiesced.

Unlike most people who would arrive at their own party fashionably late, she had arrived first in case she needed to disappear later. Being there when everyone arrived in order to greet them before she got too drunk was better than coming in late and leaving early. Of course, that was not the plan, but, no one knew what the night held. In any case, Besito was lurking about somewhere close, mainly so he could feel included in the festivities but to double as an alarm just in case.

Kaori received a personal invitation to the birthday masquerade. After receiving the invitation, she had to ask someone what a masquerade was. She had not attended an event like that before and the thought of a 'mask' party had her quite interested. She had some of the craftsmen in the Shrine build her a mask that only covered the top half of her face. After obtaining the mask, she put on a frilly black dress in a gothlic-lolita style, fake white wings and a fake white halo floating above her head. With the mask on, it appeared that she had 2 sets of horns; the horns upon her mask and the horns she was born with poking out right next to the mask. Something about the invitation struck her with confusion. 'Inhibitions: Optional' she read and tilted her head upon reading it. She didn't understand what that even meant, but it wasn't something that she'd let bother her for now.

It was dark and Kaori was dressed appropriately, having the mask over her face. The mask, itself, gave off a strange dark purple glow around it. It wasn't hard for her to stick out with a glowing mask. As she entered the venue, her breath was taken away as she noticed little specks of light on the ceiling to imitate the twinkling of stars and the cute tables fully fit for food consumption. Everything was just absolutely gorgeous and Kaori felt quite smitten with the atmosphere. She had missed out on such awesome events like these due to having been stuck in the Shrine. Thankfully, all of that was in the past and she was able to make fond memories from this point forward.

She walked through the dance hall, gasping and running around like a child and looking at everything. She was amazed at what she had seen until her eyes turned to see alcohol in the distance. She licked her lips a bit. It was amazing that the coliseum, a place meant for spilling blood, could turn into what Kaori would see as 'a night of magic'. Her eyes turned towards the alcohol once more before she noticed Yomi. It was quite obvious who Yomi was in this masquerade. There weren't too many goddesses with smooth mocha skin within Konoha, so she was much too easy to pick out. Then again, Kaori would also be much too easy to point out with her horns and multi-colored hair.

Kaori made her way towards Yomi and gave her a BIG hug. "Happy birthday!" she said as she hugged Yomi tightly. She would make the observation that she looked quite good for her age, but at this point, Yomi probably wouldn't age due to being ascended to godhood. Kaori only wished for immortality like that. Her fear of death was great and knowing that Yomi would outlive her was a bit depressing due to her absolute envy of the idea. She released Yomi from the hug and smiled brightly to her. "Whoever did this decorating did a FANTASTIC job!
Oh ma god! The stars above are just so pretty~
" she said. Certainly, she had to remain relatively close to Yomi due to how loud the music was,
but it didn't bother Kaori in the slightest.

Kaori stepped back and took a good look at Yomi and started to fan herself. "Ooooo, girl! You're going to turn heads tonight!"
Kaori said in a teasing manner. She wasn't really acting her usual self, intoxicated on the beautiful environment and acting-out due to the anxiety of being in a large group like this. She figured this would make her a bit more 'personable' to be around. She waved to Yomi, "Anyway,
I'm going to get me something to drink so have fun tonight, Yomi~~~
" she said before fleeing towards the bar. Thankfully, she felt guilt-free to get a couple of adult drinks judging from the time she spent with her and Hayakuro in the hotsprings. Kaori banked on the fact that Yomi would turn a blind-eye to her this time as well as she raised a finger and ordered a cherry martini. Of course she wasn't going to drink it straight, so she asked it to be served with some shaved ice.

Kaori rubbed her hands together and waited for the drink to be served. Thankfully, she didn't look like a child any more so she could easily get away with ordering drinks now. As the bartender started to mix the drinks together, she turned and looked out the door to see who else would come in.

A decent amount of time had passed since the girl had woken up in the forest, though from that point she had learned something that had made her a bit out of date on any news that she had known before the day that would have caused her to actually have gone into the forest just outside of the village. Being asleep for three years and reuniting with her parents who had thought that she had been taken or worse and making sure that she was who she was and everything had taken a toll on her, especially with them wanting to try and make up for lost time with their daughter. Sure she could understand, but with someone hand delivering her an invitation to someones birthday. There was a few things that she had kept secret that she had on her, such as the book that she had found within that cavern as well as the rest of the clay that had survived everything and finally, the full pouch of precious gems that were in one of the buildings that she had almost forgotten about until she had arrived home and settled after a few days.

She had a bit of time before the party would start so she had taken a few of the rubies that was in the pouch to a jeweler within the village to make a ring and a pair of earrings as she had easily found a dress that she liked though it was luck for her that it had actually fit her because she had out brown a bit of her clothes that she had worn previously, and the dress seemed to fit well enough for only a few things needing change. Finding shoes wasn't difficult as her mother had helped her here after noticing that her daughter had been out shopping, and decided to help after seeing the invitation. Now, with everything a few days after getting the invitation, all she had to was wait, which wouldn't entirely feel too long as time didn't feel slow for her lately with everything.

As the days past, and it was time for her to get ready. The dress fit perfectly after the adjustments, the shoes added an inch or so to her height, the ring with the gem of choice being a ruby as well as ruby earrings dangles slightly with her mothers help as she hadn't often worn earrings period. She'd put her hair in a messy bun of sorts before putting her mask on which matched her dress, and had a black feather on the fight side of it. It wasn't a handheld mask, which was entirely fine with her. Her mother had her wait for a moment before moving and getting her daughter a necklace that she had for quite some time. The necklace being made of silver and had put it on her daughters before letting her daughter go out and head toward the party itself. Though her mother had quickly stopped her for a moment before reminding her about some lipstick, and had instantly recommended a black that she had gotten as a surprise, which she would move as quickly as she could to the bathroom and put it on.

Heading out and some kind words between her and her parents. She'd head to the location on the invitation, and thought she was going to be the first person there outside of the one whose birthday it was, but upon arrival, she had seen that there was another person there outside of Yomi, and the bartender. She'd look around for the most part, a bit in awe of how everything looked. She was no where used to wearing heels but she did her best not to let it show and took slow steps for the time being just to take in how everything looked. With her red dress, red and black mask, ruby earrings and ring, black heels being mostly hidden by the dress, a silver necklace and a deep black lipstick being the entirety of her outfit currently. After standing around and such taking in the scenery, she'd head to the birthday woman and speak. "Happy birthday." She'd say with a slight smile and a slight bow. She'd wait for her to respond before taking the time to head to the bar for drink even though she wasn't looking for anything alcoholic as her appearance was questionable for being old enough to drink but she could pass for one with her current outfit. Looking at the other person at the bar, she'd just look at her with a slight smile and speaking. "Hello there, this place looks amazing, doesn't it?" She'd say before turning back to the bartender as she waited for the woman to finish helping with the woman that she spoke to. Feeling that the woman felt familiar, but she couldn't really place it.

Zenko had heard about the part while working for his internship for LnfoWars with Arekksu Jonzu. The man was truly a genius. He worked to uncover the secrets that the government kept from its honest law abiding citizens. How they secretly worked against the interest of the citizens just for their own power.

Zenko had been tasked to go to this party to go undercover and discover anything he could in order to put it on the LnfoWars show. Not only was he doing important work for the good of the leaf this night but he was his first formal party. Tonight he was dressed in a tux wearing a mask that resembled that of a cat.

Walking next to him was a panther cub, who had grown several pounds since the last time Yomi would have seen him but he was still cute. He was not big enough to walk on his own, which he did tonight. Not wanting to be left out of the party Kenji was also wearing a mask to cover his face, though he carried his favorite stuffed lamb doll for something to play with when Zenko talked with others.

Approaching the host, he had seen pictures of her during his preparation for tonight. She was pretty and certainly went all out in her look. ”Good evening, you look beautiful tonight” he started before he realized that might be to forward for a fourteen year old to say at a party ” I mean, ah, it is a beautiful party you have here” he quickly corrected before running off to see who else was there. Kenji simply walked up to her, put down his stuffed lamb, meowed at her, picked it back up in his mouth and walked off.

Sitting at his desk looking at the party invitation, Umashi knew full well that he was going to pass up on the occasion despite the ramifications of doing so. He had an idea or two as to why Yomi had hand delivered the invite and once he looked down at what it was, he still opted to accept it in hand knowing full well that he would definitely have to disappoint her. As cliche as it sounded, it wasn't her, it was him, and as he sat at his desk, feet kicked up, he sighed as he shook his head and looked forward at the incoming night. Eventually Umashi would get up and dress as the moon started to rise. Dressing in blacked out shinobi attire and cloak, though he wasn't trying to hide who he was, he also was trying to dress the part of one on a stealth mission. As he looked in the mirror and smirked to himself, he thought that Takeshi might be proud as he finally pulled a blackened ANBU mask over his face was created in the fashion of an expressionless male lion. Whereas the night might eventually call for a medic, tonight was a night for hunting and Umashi would spare no expense in finding his prey.

Arriving somewhat fashionably late, Umashi stood outside of the party entrance in the shadows as a casual observer. So many of the smiling and laughing faces were people and shinobi that he knew, so many people that needed protection from the dangers that existed in the night. Among them he spied Yomi, dressed in a fully accentuating outfit that was meant to draw all eyes to her. Smirking behind his mask, Umashi wasn't one to stare but she surely had managed to capture at least one particular individuals attention tonight but Umashi wasn't going to be caught while idle. Falling in line among the various guest waiting to get in, Umashi managed to get in without a hitch despite having to turn down many a bubbly drink. Working the room so as to show his face, Umashi circled around finally to Yomi as he approached her from behind while she laughed at the joke of a would be comedian. Taking his chance only when the funny guy and his entourage took their leave, Umashi behind the mask that only revealed his eyes moved in on Yomi and muttered in her ear as he came to stand beside her.
"You'll have to forgive me but I won't be able to dance the night away as you would have me to . . ." With a rather cheesy line, Umashi chuckled to himself while scanning the room like nothing had happened. It was while doing so that he caught sight of a faint glowing purple flame standing just outside of the party lights and knew for a true fact that indeed his time was short.

Yomi was taken aback by Kaori’s sudden embrace. She was not one for such outward displays of affection, however, it was one of the very few people she liked and so she was not annoyed. She wrapped her arms around the girl and gave a small smile.

“Thank you Tenk---, just Kaori.” She remembered, but, there was a saying about old habits and all that. “Yes, this was all Asuka” Was her response. She did a twirl to show off her whole entire outfit to Kaori who thought she looked pretty good.

“It was just something I put together.” A truth mired by the Humblebrag. “I’m glad you came. Please enjoy yourself.” She made a motion towards the bar and dance floor, in order to greet her other guests who were finally trickling in.

Another guest told her happy birthday and she thanked her, while complimenting Ritsuko on her own get-up. For a weeks’ notice, so far, everyone cleaned up rather quickly and nicely. Following shortly behind the girl was another person who she recognized from the time she was lurking in the tree. He clumsily complimented her but she didn’t care about any of that because she was taken in by his little companion.

“Thank you for coming.” She said before she went to the little one on the floor. She kneeled and smiled at the little one’s cute face, but, didn’t pet him in case he didn’t like that. He placed his little toy lamb down to say Happy Birthday as well, meowing his little meow, before picking it back up and following behind the young man whom he came with. Super adorbs.

As more guests filled the room, she would greet them and mingle like a good host, introducing people to other people or directing them to the dance floor or bar. Asuka had come by to give her first or fourth…glass of champagne. Tonight, was going off without a hitch.

A knowing presence appeared behind her as she smiled into the champagne glass before taking a sip. He spoke in her ear, as the music level required. She didn’t turn around to speak but she responded nonetheless.

“You’d have to do more than ask for my forgiveness to get it…” Her tone was playful but she was very serious. Yomi cut her eye at him as he came to stand beside her. If she didn’t know who it was underneath the mask, she wouldn’t have guessed it was him donning this ANBU mask and all black. A far cry from the white she was accustomed to seeing him in, which she preferred, since it made his complexion pop how she liked. But this look…this look also reminded her of his darker nature, and she liked that too.

“…I’m quite disappointed…” She refrained from mentioning his name or referring to him by any of his titles. She took the point he was making with his attire and whether that was for the office’s sake, or something more disturbing she wasn’t sure. She would go along with it either way because him even showing up spoke volumes to her. She moved to step in front of the masked man while placing her hand on the back of his neck pulling him close to her while talking in his ear.

“…But, you’ll make it up to me. I trust you won’t need reminding.” Yomi pulled away and kissed her finger before pressing it against the lips of his mask. The Goddess smiled and strutted away towards the bar. She needed another drink. Something harder, darker, and that lasted much longer than the champagne she was currently enjoying.

------------------------------------

Meanwhile at the bar....

Asuka was cranking out the drinks like some sort of effortless efficient machine. The liquor was flowing the sake was warm and the soda wasn't flat. Everything was going great. Asuka even snuck in whatever drink Kaori requested because it was Kaori and she had all the privileges. The only thing Asuka requested was that she not embarrass Yomi. She was always worried about how people viewed her. The markings of a good friend and disciple. Yomi walked up and ordered dark and stormy...quite like how she was feeling after she walked off from that man, in a good way. Was there a good way to feel about that? Hmmm...

Asuka made the drink giving her a knowing look. Yomi shook her head as if to say she didn't want to hear it. It was her birthday and she was grown and she was a Goddess. She did whatever she wanted this night...almost.

This was the day, the birthday to celebrate Reoku was dressed to impressed top to bottom as his suit was black and with a navy tie, Reoku loosened the knot slightly before entering... Kitsune Park Reoku looked at himself proud that he cleaned up and was tasked with making an appearance when unthinkable happened, Reoku's poured his drink on his shirt, 'Oh come on, what the hell..' Saying to himself Reoku took his shirt off and jacket and laid it on bench when a random thug ran through the square and took his shirt that he came with.

Turning around Reoku noticed his shirt was missing, looking at the bench he placed his shirt and pondered what happened "What the hell, who took my shirt." looking around Reoku decided that it was for the best, arriving at the party, Reoku spotted Yomi in the crowd and and decided to follow appearances and made a mask of flame, covering his face in a cascading flicker of light, orange, yellow and red swirled left and right as the small flame hardly dangerous to his face and hair.
sir_natsu_by_blueriser-d64ufzl.jpg

OOC: Minus the shirt...

Walking up to Yomi, Reoku walked up to Yomi and kindly said "Thank you for inviting me...Yomi" Leaving the top button of his jacket open showing the top pecks of his chest muscles showing... with twist of his wrist a conjured flower of crimson flame, handing up to Yomi to observe the creativity and cascaded flicker of flame and colour.

"I hope this time we can have better first impression."

Dark eyes hidden behind a golden mask. Twas the ways that Tamashii walked. He'd trained his gates to the point of secondary notion movement. He'd gotten several letters over the last few months. However, this was the most intriguing aside from his sister's departure. Though, he knew she would be brought back in one piece... This was definitively something that he would go looking into later... but today... Today was the day to unwind. The day to celebrate, and loosen him up. He'd mourned the death of Hakuren in ultimate silence. And now, he was back.... out of the office and amongst the land of the living.

Stepping into the light, through the white veils of the light that covered this dark and mysterious scene. Tama, the Top Jounin in the country, walked through the crowds of people who came to show their love to the best Medic in the village. He would show his love in a different way... He brought some gifts. He had a necklace made... spent quite a bit of cash on it. However, this was going to be his symbol to Leaf as well to Yomi. She needed something... that defined her as the undisputed Queen of Konoha. So, he would nod walking up to the both of Umashi and Yomi... Though slowly making his way, watching the mingling of the Hokage and the Medical Sennin. Though, he would walk up to the bar... behind the caramel skinned Goddess of healing. Laying a hand and smiling, "Whatever the birthday gal wants I'll buy...", even though he knew it was a masquerade... he could tell who was who. Or at least the top players in the village.

"Miss... I hope you dont mind... I'm not trying to impede on your... progression with... Mr. Man over there...", notioning his head over to the dangling Hokage. He seemed to be left in awe of Yomi. Though who wouldnt be...? Tama wouldnt want to answer that, before long he would lay a long black box on the bar table. "Consider this your birthday gift... as well as a congratulations. I would like to applaud you, Your tact behind the scenes, has kept the village afloat. I read all the paper work that comes through the office... Help Mr. Man sign off on it. But, I like your work..." he'd await to see if she would open it... If she did what she would see would be something glimmering...

"I . . . I . . . Ok . . ." There were times when Umashi had found himself lacking the right words to say, and then there were times when Umashi could babble on senselessly; this proved to be a time that Umashi choked on his words. If one had have been able to see his face they would have seen the man blushing but thankfully, Umashi could play things cool thanks in part to the ANBU garb that he had on. Or at least as cool as possible considering that Tamashii was bringing all sorts of attention to him despite the entire incognito act that he was trying to put on. Shifting in his stance, he watched her saunter off as he willed every fiber of his being to move away from her and back into the shadows that he had come from. Yomi was doing her best to woo him and if he stayed any longer than it was sure to work against even his strongest measures. Having melted into the shadow of one particularly not so busy portion of the room, Umashi soon found himself high a top a nearby building as he looked off into the distance and took in the view of Konoha at night.

It was a beautiful village, but the Hokage knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that there were far too many dangers lurking and waiting to prey on the weak. Shaking his head, he was little surprised when a cold feeling of darkness overtook him and suddenly he could see the moon no more. Not flinching, he turned around calmly and looked into bright eyes that illuminated the darkness. Glancing from side to side, Umashi could only assume that he'd been dragged into a shadow benders void so he decided to play ball knowing that there was little damage that might be inflicted upon the village.
"I was beginning to wonder when you'd show . . ." With a coy grin behind his mask, Umashi waited for whatever this creature had in store for him. What he didn't expect was for the creature to begin laughing though, and the sound of that laughter echoed loud and clear that this creature was neither bothered or alarmed by being found out. Apparently Umashi had his work cut out for him. "You say that you wer expecting me, but the fact is that I was merely allowing you your fun with the lady of the hour. One could say that you were the only one that I had eyes on." With a stalkers confession, the creature burst into another round of laughter as Umashi controlled his impulses and clinched his fist, ready to defend himself.

OOC: Umashi left the party and then was pulled into the Shadow Dimension while standing on top of a building. No longer ICly at the party.
Shadow Dimension - Shadow Void Jutsu
The ultimate technique of the Nara clan. This jutsu draws forth all shadows in the area to the user, then begin to form a black dome that rapidly expands to cover the area. This dome creates a haven for the Nara, and a hellish realm of shadows for any deemed as the Nara's enemy. Completely Isolated from the outside world, this nearly impenetrable void essentially seals off those within from any allies they may have had, instead trapping them in a world of malicious shades which obey the Nara's wishes.

Kaori definitely had to give Asuka accolades for throwing together this masquerade. She was quite the planner and even a few words of appreciation should be given to her. Perhaps the next time she saw Asuka, she'll say something about it. Yes, that'll definitely brighten up her day. Well, knowing Asuka as much as she does, that might not happen. It's still worth a shot though! And Yomi's outfit was given great fanfare from Kaori after she twirled around to show it off. Envy emanated from Kaori as she heard that Yomi made her outfit for her. Sadly, Kaori didn't have any gifts when it came to crafting or performing of a trade.

However, Kaori was at the bar right now and everyone seemed to have come towards the bar, following Kaori for some reason. Just like that, the bar got crowded. The bartender brought her drink and she put a few coins into the tip-jar before stirring up the drink a little bit and took a sip from the strong beverage. The tiny sip caused a contorted face to wrap itself around Kaori's. The taste of the alcohol was strong and the sugar content was high. Happens when you buy a frou-frou drink, right? Her attention was quickly grabbed by another attendee that decided to show up. Kaori simply smiled and nodded her head. She didn't realize the person behind the mask was Ritsuko, otherwise she would give her a great big hug. It's been a few years since she had seen her after all.

"Yeah, this place looks fantastic!" Kaori said before she just realized that the bartender was Asuka. She leaned in towards the bar to get Asuka's attention and give her a thumbs up. "You did a great job, putting all of this together, Asuka! Looks beautiful!" she said as the music started to get in the way of her speech. Kaori took another sip from her martini and her face twisted once again. This wasn't the first time she had drank alcohol, but this certainly wasn't a weak drink either.

More and more people started to pour into the venue, Kaori looking over each of the members that joined. What she saw were some very interesting looking outfits and masks; Kaori was certainly one to talk. She kept her eyes on them as they spoke to Yomi, making sure they didn't try anything slick with her. The only one to escape her vision was the one dressed in all-black ANBU gear. Good, she would have just called the guy a pervert and swatted him away. Then a man in a golden mask approached with gifts. Kaori placed the glass of martini on the bartop and grit her teeth. Why didn't SHE think of bringing gifts for Yomi?! Grrrr!! She'll just have to bring the gift at a later date with an excuse of 'Um, sorry, it wasn't prepared in time'. Either way, she curled her lip and picked up her martini glass and took another sip, reacting to the drink in the usual manner.

"You know, at least there aren't any perverts at this party," she said as she took another sip from her martini, saying that in the direction of Ritsuko. Kaori would ask Ritsuko who she was, but that defeated the purpose of a masquerade, does it not? So the mystery of the familiar girl remained that -- a mystery.

Zenko decided that a drink was in order. He was embarrassed with his interactions with the host and he could use something to calm his nerves. As he walked over to the bar he looked back at Kenji, who was walking with the dignity as someone that was recognized for the superior animal that he was. ”Your ego is going to be out of control isn’t it?” he asked the panther cub, who in return simply kept walking nose in the air.

Ordering a drink he heard a female voice talking about perverts. He looked over and saw that she had on an interesting mask, he had never seen one like that. ”I am sorry, I couldn’t help but overhearing you, were you expecting perverts?” It wasn’t the best way to strike up a conversation but any opening was one he would take. After all wasn’t part of the point of a party was to mingle? He was sure he didn't’ know many people here, if anyone so he might as well talk to new people.

Recognizing that they were going to be there a little while, Kenji laid down and began to groom his stuffed lamb. The affairs of humans were of no consequence to him, if they wanted to be loud and keep their mouths open, well he had better things to do. He smelled many fine things that he would be feasting on latter but for now, he concentrated on the task at hand.

Yomi sipped her drink thinking of all the things she wanted to do at this moment as Tamashii slid up beside her. She was so preoccupied with the masked individual that she had not seen him come in. He, on the other hand, had noticed them. At least he had the wherewithal to go along with this little ruse Umashi was putting on. This was why he was the special adviser and no one else. Yomi took another sip of her drink before placing it down on the bar. Asuka dutifully whisked it away, preventing anyone from putting anything harmful inside it.

"Well the bar is already open and paid for by me, but, I appreciate the gesture." She looked down at the box and placed her hand on it.

"How unexpected." As Yomi peeked inside it a small smile crept up on her face. "Exquisite." The Medical Sennin flagged Asuka down, who was on the end of the bar at this time. When she came she would give it to the woman for safe keeping.

"Thank You." Yomi tilted her head to the side as a fiery red head walked up to her and thanked her for inviting him. The woman chuckled and shook her head at her recently acquired 'ward'. He was in a lot of trouble, but, this wasn't the time to think of those things. Tonight was about fun and letting go of all their issues and problems and just enjoy.

"Don't mention it, Reoku. So long as you keep your clothes on..." Yomi poked a bit of fun at him, but, it was her party and she probably had a little too much to drink. Plus, it was true that he ended up naked the last time and he was already missing a shirt.

"ASUKA, SHOT!" Yomi yelled. The bartender poured it up as she knew the Goddess liked. She downed it and looked to Tamashii.

"Well...Mr. Man, left without giving the birthday girl what she needed. Will you dance with me, then?" She gave a little pout as she asked this. Her eyes widened as if she suddenly remembered something.

"Speech first though...."

The Goddess climbed on the bar and grabbed a conveniently placed microphone. Asuka knowingly went to turn down the music…and so began Yomi’s speech.

"Excuse me...." She blew into the microphone to make sure it was on.

“I will keep this short and sweet so everyone can get back to enjoying themselves. First, I’d like to thank all of you for coming out to celebrate my birthday. I’d like to give a special thank you to Hano Asuka…” Yomi pointed to the bartender who immediately turned red. Lowering her head to avoid all the eyes that were sure to follow.

“…who put this together at the very last moment. Without her, none of this would have been possible. I know that you, Asuka, are in a very very difficult position when it comes to me so I thank you for this and all of your support that has been unconditional since we were five years old. What I am to you and for you is nothing compared to what you are to me.” Yomi smiled at her friend and then winked at Kaori, who would get what she meant, before she returned her gaze to the people who had gathered.

“Konoha was not always my home, in fact, it is only my 7th year here. I am appreciative for how its people have graciously accepted me and my little family, which, includes that big wolf you may or may not have seen, without moments pause. It is rare…” Yomi looked around the room for a bit and smiled.

“So, while we may not always get to get a chance to get together, I hope that when we do, it is because we want too and not because of any imminent danger that oft times, is the reason we have to get together. I want this to mark the first of many occasions that we gather out of want and not duty.” Yomi smiled again and did a little curtsy signaling the end of her little speech. All the drink was clearly making her much more pleasant person to be around, with all the smiling and compliments. No one better get used to it. The Goddess looked down at Tamashii and smiled some more.

"Help me down?"

Meanwhile Outside.....

Besito stalked the perimeter of the Coliseum. In the distance he could make out Umashi in the distance. His head tilted to the left as he watched him walk? get snatched? into the "shadow realm". He barked in slight confusion as he no longer saw him. He let off a howl, that probably was drowned out by the laughter and music.

Having had enough of the banter, Umashi calmly asked his question one more time, opting to solve the problem via words and reason rather than his fist. ”What do you want?” With a definite self-induced calm on his voice, Umashi asked the question fully expecting that the creature would jerk his chain before answering. Instead with a loud snap, Umashi found himself looking on at a scene of a man sitting down writing furiously at a cabin room’s desk. Feeling an odd sense of familiarity, Umashi realized just as the creature started to speak that this was a scene out of his own life. ”They say that life is but a dream . . . but I ask you, were the events that happened on this day all those years ago a dream?” As his memories of that day began to play in his own mind ahead of what he was watching, Umashi remembered the day of the accident, the day that his wife and child were taken from him by force.

An accident, or at least what Umashi was told had occurred and the woman that he’d chosen to spend the rest of his days with was taken from him by force. It was supposed to be a happy time in his life, one of joy and mirth but instead he was thrust into the darkness of hate over what some foolish Konohagakure shinobi had accidently done. In an instant everything that he’d loved, everything that he’d held dear was extinguished. Gone was the love of his life and the unborn child that they had created. Unable to be reasoned with, Umashi had written up a manifesto, declaring war on the entire Fire Country over the actions of one lone shinobi. Umashi refused to be reasoned with, refused to accept any alternative other than what his mind rationalized. Mentally the events were happening in his mind far faster than what he was witnessing. He could hardly remember the entirety of the continents of the manifesto but he remembered clearly that it was addressed towards the new head of Konoha, Yamaguchi Kami.

As if reading his mind, the creature spoke, as it revealed itself to be a man draped in the shadows themselves. Like a shadow given form, it spoke from a position beside Umashi, as he looked on in horror at how it spoke about the events in a matter of fact way.
”Yes, I could tell you exactly how ill placed your anger was, and how foolish you were to go up against the entirety of a nation for selfish reasons. I could tell you how deeply she loved you and how in her dying moments was thinking nothing but blissful thoughts of her future with you . . . but I won’t. You know that story, and you know how that story ended.” With a snap of its fingers, the creature caused the scene to melt away as another scene reappeared and Umashi saw himself chained up like an animal to a jail cell. Lashing out, Umashi didn’t need the hear the sounds as he mouthed the words that he’d spoken that day. Words of venom and hate, anger and frustration. Again continuing his thoughts, the creature spoke once more.

”You swore to avenge your wife by killing Kami, and yet on that day you started on a path towards redemption, one that would eventually lead to you becoming the Nidaime Hokage. Do you remember?” With another snap of its fingers, suddenly the scene was one of awe and beauty. Even from his vantage point as a watcher, the moment proved to be a powerful one indeed. Staring into the eyes of the executioner, the former Umashi and current Umashi seemed to share the same vision, as Umashi watched the spinning sharingan drag him further and further from himself. A kinjutsu technique, the Kotoamatsukami rewrote everything by means of a genjutsu so powerful that it defied most ideas of logic. With a sheer overwriting of his free will, Umashi went from vowing revenge to wanting only to protect Konoha. It was a programing so strong that Umashi would even die for the village if necessary. ”You went from the most feared of villains to one of the most capable defenders. You, the former terror of the seas, now just another cog in the machine that was Konoha.”

Interrupting the creature, Umashi attempted to ignore what was going on before him as he turned to talk directly to the creature. He was angry, and though he knew all of what he was watching, to have past playing before him was almost too much to bear emotionally. ”What are you? Why are you showing me this? Again I’ll ask you, why are you targeting innocent people?” His questions were valid if telling of his inability to face what he was. Instead of stopping the scene, the creature let it play out as it looked on at the now defeated Umashi, regulated to a slave of his programming, no longer an agent of free will. ”I am merely an observer, the observer in fact, and I wish to give you the life that you want as I have done for so many others. Where would you be if you hadn’t have been defeated that day, what sort of man had you been had you not blamed Kami from what happened? Who would you have become had your wife and child not fallen prey to an unforeseen occurrence?” Everything going black again, Umashi found himself listening to the voice of the creature in the darkness as a small light like one at the end of the tunnel began to get closer and closer, growing as it approached them.

”I wish to take away the pain of regret by allowing you and ones like you the ability to live the life that you always wanted. Some may call me the dream eater but I prefer to consider myself the destroyer of nightmares. Is it so wrong to wish to ease the troubled souls of the world? What would you do if the events of decades prior had played out far, far differently?” As the creature finished speaking, the light began to overtake the darkness as Umashi was momentarily blinded and soon found himself staring at the ceiling with his back against a comfortable bed. Feeling the warmth of someone next to him, he looked over and froze as the light of the rising sun outside of his window cast its grace on the peacefully resting body of the last woman to tame his soul.

Ritsuko stood at the bar for a bit before actually ordering something, a simple soda, as she didn't much want to order anything alcoholic as she didn't have the thoughts at the time to do so. As she had taken her sip, the woman who had spoken to the bartender a few simple moments prior had said something in her direction in which she'd smirk for a moment. "If you say that with as early as it is, you're gonna jinx it, but at least one hasn't shown up yet..." She'd say, taking a sip of her soda. It wasn't long before she had taken notice to another person that had directly spoken to the two of them and had asked the two if they had expected perverts. Which it was a ludicrous question, but she'd continue the conversation.

"Of course not, who would stoop so low to just come to a party just to be a pervert?" She'd ask him, taking a sip of her soda. The area sure had quite the crowd, and while not the biggest fan of it, she'd put up with it of course. Though it didn't take long after it having been brought up, she did feel someone grab her butt. While being at a bad time, she'd have been taking another sip of her soda and would put the soda down quickly to look around for whoever had decided to be the person to actually follow up with actually jinxing the conversation that the person that Ritsuko had interacted with a moment prior.

"Where are you you son of a..." She'd say, quietly enough to herself before spotting someone moving directly away from her but also had been just around her by the speed he was moving away from her with. Grabbing her glass, and moving away from the bar quickly enough to catch the guy after a moment. Grabbing the guys shoulder and spinning him around, she'd speak as she smashed the glass into his face. "How about you feel that instead of my butt!" She'd shout before walking back to the bar. She'd have a few glass shards in her hand at the moment, but she wouldn't entirely make a big deal as they weren't too small to remove herself, which she would on her way back to the bar.

At the bar, she'd simply lean forward onto the bar near where she had stood before with a sigh and looking down at the bar.

The small boy stretched, the cracking sounds of limbs breaking could be heard. He needed to get ready, for tonight might have just been the first night he would introduce his true self to the world. And no one feared a pipsqueak. He stretched his arms an extra 4 inches each, his legs 5, and his torso and chest cracked and caved, sprouted and stretched 1'3". 5'2" seemed an appropriate enough height to be taken seriously. It was always a painful practice, breaking and mending his body. It was a necessary evil though, hiding ones identity. Always keeping the enemy on their toes. And he had several lifetimes ahead of him to do such, he just didn't ever expect he would get used to the pain and odd sensation. It always felt difficult to get his barrings every time he did this. Yet, staying small, staying his regular age's height, for all that that meant, felt more...natural?

Bones, as much as they were finally hardened, and he was ready to don his 'armor'. It had been months since he last wore it, and in truth, half expected to never have to again. Though that was a lie he told himself. With the inability to find his sister, and the unknown of what he would do next, it was only fitting that he saw the invitation to a party, one for the sennin of the medical corps of Konoha to be seen. What luck it was. He knew his sister was a capable healer, and she certainly would be under the command of such. She would at the very least show up to the party of her commander. Sara's upbringing would demand such. Hell, maybe he would luck out entirely and might have changed her name and would be this..Yomi was it?

The invitation was open to all, and that could did leave a disconcerting taste in his mouth. The sennin's party would be something everyone would want to make an appearance at. Anyone of high society, and anyone that was a shinobi. The party would be wrought with danger for him. Though he was an unknown, and that would work in his favor. He kept a low enough profile in the shinobi affairs back in Iwagakure. And he managed to keep that under wraps as well. Was it a smart thing to reveal himself to the world? If he played it cool, things should blow over easily enough. But he needed information. He would certainly need to make a move tonight. In some manner, at some point..

He laughed with glee at the ease it was to enter such a premier event as this. Such an open area, such a lack of defensible security. Though security was no match for his Byakugan, he still expected a little more hardships. He was thrilled to enter the party with such easy and secrecy, and didn't question his luck. He entered through the fringes, staying within internal areas of the coliseum, sticking to shadows. He watched as a man dressed as ANBU stood atop the building he was in, above on the roof. He hid in the shadows, waiting for the would be ANBU to leave so he could continue on. Soon enough, the job was done for him, as another figure entered the fray, and seemed to swallow the man whole with some kind of ninjutsu. It seemed he wasn't the only one praying on party goers tonight. Whom was he to judge another after all. It concerned him none, so he continued on and entered the main party hall.

As he joined the party, he heard the sound of glass breaking as some girl smashed a bottle into the head of someone. As they say, it isn't a party until someone gets hurt. Or was it dies? Badly maimed? What ever. He would have to watch himself here it would appear. Accidentally touching someone in such cramp quarters as the bar area might just get him socked in the back of his head. It would be an area to avoid perhaps. But it might have been smarter to stick away from the groups. It might draw attention given the drive of everyone towards the free drinks. He didn't care that much if he was spotted, after all, it was a mascaraed. His identity would be safe. His well fitted tight costume might draw some attention, seeming to be less brought on by coincidence and opportunity. But it appeared cheaply made enough and was dark and frilly enough to hide his presence and figure against the background. It was something he needed especially, for if someone walked up to the young boy, he wasn't to sure what to speak to them about. For now, he sat at a table a decent distance away from the bar, and close to the wall, equal distances from several exit points.

Blasted details of the forsaken minds... This village was weird, and he was one of the villages highest ranking officials. Humbled by such a title... but the boy would continue reaching for his constellations, raising his own bar. Now... he was in this high scale part with dozens of beautiful women, and handsome men, Tamashii was one of these people. He was... apart of this family. The Family that he didnt have back in Stone. This was the Fiery flames of a culmination of dreams that all came into one place. In a single moment Tama found himself looking around and letting his dreams go... for just the moment allowing himself to be enveloped within this party. Smiling from his golden mask, those dark eyes would gaze back at Yomi, catching her as she asked him to dance... but not before she would give a stunning speech. They were the same in many ways... still new to this land. Getting acquainted with their newly found power in this place. So with that Tama would clap for her as she finished her short speech...

"Of course..."Lending a gentle, yet firm hand to help her glide down from the bar to the soft ground below. Holding another hand to help her equilibrium as she would come down. She was wearing some extravagant clothing. Adorned in such elegant stitching. She was beautiful... but she was but another's in the eyes of Tamashii. Thus, he would not have anymore thoughts leading him to think anything else aside from Yomi being a friend of his. Maybe closer if things progressed. He saw her as the top woman in the village, Top in the country. The future of this nation would lie with her... in many ways he saw her being the next Hokage if she so chose to be, but he didnt see her being ready for such a title at this time. She would be... Umashi and Tamashii would get her ready... Umashi in his infinite wisdom, and Tamashii with his skill in tactic and information.

"Well well well, How about that dance?", Tama would make sure she had the Necklace... but instantly remembering that she'd given it to her protege', he'd roll his shoulders back and would begin leading Yomi to what he assumed was the Dance floor. Hell Tamashii hadnt even drank yet... but he was still under the effects of his medicine... So the pain in his body that was keeping him from working out was gone for now. It was something that he ordered from the hospital, but in parts that made a whole. So, maybe Yomi could put that together, but she would have had to do some digging... as Tama had been doing it since he was an ANBU. Though it was weird because he didnt hear the music until he got to the dance floor...

Something changed though the music, started slow... but a smile appeared on Tama's face as he would turn to Yomi before laying his coat on a nearby chair, "Lemme show a few thanngs~" he would say as the music would begin to pick up. Feeling the music a bit and snapping his fingers before rocking his shoulders as he walked up to Yomi. Bobbing his head up and down with the rhythm. He may have been mixed... culturally Tama's mother was caramel skinned as Yomi maybe alittle darker... but Yomi took after his father, he was alittle tanned but light enough where people wouldnt automatically think he was culturally mixed as he was, to mention this would mean most people didnt think he could hold rhythm... but what was a shinobi without the rhythm of the world and vibrations of the world around him. This was the way of Tamashii, and now the way of Tamashii would be dancing a bit with Yomi rocking his arms and snapping his fingers as he would make his move...

A little chuckle was made in the direction of Ritsuko. Kaori didn't believe in jinxes as reality was much more harsh than any superstitious jinx would be. Her reality up to this point was filled with heart-ache and assholes and some even defying fate. Even if her saying 'Oh boy, I hope there are no perverts here' does make the opposite true, it's not like she couldn't quickly remedy that problem with sharp words. Not everything needed to be solved with violence as her last several missions had dictated so pure ridicule would be the proper discourse to take instead of trying to bludgeon someone and send them to the moon. That would result in a potential fight and would probably spoil or ruin Yomi's party; and Kaori wouldn't want that, would she? After all, she did promise to behave herself. That is, assuming no ANBU assholes show up. "Oh, I don't think my words would change the outcome anyway. If they want to come, they'll come," she said as she turned her eyes towards a person showing up. It was like clockwork. "I guess I spoke too soon, here comes the next contestant," she simply stated. She didn't know if this man was one of those 'perverts' that she detested, but it never hurt to be cautious. For now, she would treat him like a human until he starts to show perverted tendencies.

A walking mop approached the bar, towards Kaori and Ritsuko in particular, and asked about the expectation of there being perverts. Kaori raised a brow, being difficult to see under her mask if it wasn't for her forehead wrinkling slightly. The man had a similar skin complexion that Yomi did, which definitely makes the man stand out among the rest of the shinobi. This man didn't seem too over-the-top in terms of looks and his outfit was actually pretty fly. She tilted her head and crooked the right corner of her lip downward in annoyance and disgust. She flipped her hair over her horns, displaying them inadvertently towards the cat-masked man. The pink underside of her hair mingled with the dark purple, creating a strange pattern of light and dark. The lighting in the area, however, didn't do her hair any real justice. "Why would I be? I hope perverts keep their butts at home. Who would go home with a dog for a man? Especially creepy ones like the ANBU?" she asked as she surveyed the man up-and-down for a moment. She clearly didn't have very big expectations of men due to her experience with them when she was younger. Maybe the entire 'girl power' landscaping from living with Yomi and frequenting there might have rubbed off. Queen Bees do attract others from other colonies.

A speech was then given by the host of this party: Yomi. She started off by thanking Asuka for making this party a reality. Kaori waved to the completely embarrassed Asuka before Kaori even received a wink. She smiled and simply waved to Yomi in response. Some of the things she said were true. People had the entire shinobi lifestyle stuck in their heads, forcing them to perform JUST their duties and not even act human. Even weapons are given time to rest and relax between battles and shinobi are no different. The difference between shinobi and weapons, in Kaori's opinion however, are that humans are less replaceable than weapons. While it might seem hypocritical to think that with the amount of people she had to kill, she still believed that a life is a life and only those lives taken to enrich and defend others were necessary. While it was sad to have to kill someone, their death was probably more important than anything.

Due to being a human being, shinobi need time to relax and enjoy their times. People are too serious about being a shinobi that they forgot how to felt to be human. It took Kaori a long time to finally feel human after being treated like an object, a tool, by her family that she didn't take the fact that she was a human (and acting like a human) for granted. She cherished all of the time she felt happiness and relief and even the hard times where she cried and felt terrible. It was those times that she felt truly human. It was actually the times where she was being a shinobi that she felt like she was being used. The brainwashing of 'doing for the common good' was instilled in her, sadly enough, that she came to accept her job as being a tool for the government. But she also learned how to separate being human and being a tool for the nation, which is something that people have troubles doing.

Kaori raised her glass at the comment Yomi made and took a drink of her drink, feeling the alcohol mixed with the sweet flavor flow down her throat. The sweet nectar of the drink made the hard liquor just barely bearable to drink. And after that single drink, she felt the world getting a little lighter and a little bit more tipsy. It was then that Ritsuko lost her mind and started wailing on a man with a glass. Kaori looked at him evenly before she looked towards Ritsuko. While Kaori disliked perverts, she wouldn't go THAT far. Kaori sighed outwardly and took her drink with her. There was no way she was going to leave her drink unattended next to Mister Mop. She walked over to the pervert that Ritsuko beat to a pulp with glass and she sat upon her knees next to the man and looked at Ritsuko. "You really ought to seek some professional help with that anger," Kaori said before she lowered her drink next to the man and held her hands over his face before a green glow came from her palms and started to heal the damage done, returning his face and the rest of his wounds back to their original state.

And, as if on queue, she felt a hand grabbing her rear. Kaori jumped a little bit and turned to look towards Ritsuko with a smile. "Nevermind, carry on," she said before a fist quickly rammed itself towards the man's skull, knocking him out in a comedic fashion; a large lump where she punched him and his eyes were spinning circles. He was clearly unconscious and Kaori grabbed the man by the back of his shirt and started to drag him along the ground like a swordsman dragging along a ludicrously large sword. She turned to look towards Ritsuko and waved to her. "I'll be right back. Maybe Mister Mop at the bar would 'keep your ass in check'," she said with no pun intended. She would have to see to Ritsuko a little bit later after she ejected this asshole out of the coliseum.

Yomi looked down at Tamashii as he helped her off the bar. He was such a gentleman. It was hard to not notice the man grope the girls, Ritsuko smashing glass across his face, or Kaori's subsequent knockout drag out of him. Yomi was too inebriated to care to move in, but, she knew Kaori was more than capable of taking care of herself. Still, she was quite overprotective of that one.

I can't handle no liquor
But these ninjas can't handle me
I can't control my ninjas
And my ninjas they can't control me...

Yomi thought this as she looked too Tamashii, satisfied with the outcome enough to focus on the man in front of her, on the music and having a good time. The woman was less guarded than usual. With each twist of her hips along to the infectious beat, a piece of her cover fell away. Why was she still hiding things? Tonight, for the life of her, she couldn't remember.

I am a God...

The woman danced onto Tamashii as the song changed to something she maybe had heard before but the feeling she was getting was impacting all her unnecessary senses. She was hot to touch smelling of vetiver layered with sandalwood and lightly topped off with jasmine. Her hands ran across her body, gliding over ample assets. She imagined what it would be like if Umashi was here to do this on her behalf. And while he was off doing Rei knows what, Tamashii was here playing a dutiful substitute.

"Thank You." She said to him as she leaned in to his ear. She smiled and continued to dance with him, completely unbothered by any onlookers. It was her birthday and she would do what she wanted, how she wanted.

Asuka was watching from the bar, eyeing her Goddess as she danced with Tamashii trying to figure out when or if she would need to step in. While Yomi was on some "fuck it all" tonight, Asuka was still not going to have Yomi out here in a predicament where she was unable to talk her way out of. They had grown quite fond of this place. It would be a shame if they had to raze it to the ground like before.

I can handle my liquor
But this ninja can't handle me...

Though he shouldn't have, Umashi reached out to touch her. Everything that he ever considered himself capable of was wrapped up in the awe of the woman before him. For her he would move mountains, and cross a million oceans . . . but on that day he'd been able to even properly say goodbye. It was almost unfair to have her here with him, and despite knowing that this was far from the true reality that he lived, he dared to touch her and in the moment that he felt the warmth of her skin, she melted away into something else, someone else. Coming too, Umashi seemed to awake from one dream into another as the woman that stirred in her sleep went from being his wife to the medical Sennin Yomi. "What!" With alarm, Umashi yelled the word explaining more his frustration than his confusion, and though he'd been calm just moments before, a rage built up in his heart that suddenly left him weak and without the air in his lungs to speak.

Yomi was not his wife, and like a twisted fairground game, suddenly Umashi was seeing two completely different women laying beside him, one his beloved, and one a new barely kindled flame. Laughing maniacally, Umashi was greeted with the sight of the creature just beyond the bed, as the world seemed to play on around them as if they were both watching a movie.
"Surprised? I would have thought that you would have enjoyed living out the rest of your fantasies in eternal bliss. Perhaps the option of two different paths was two much, hrm?" With a snap of its fingers, suddenly Umashi was sitting at a breakfast table as his wife prepared their morning meal and was going on about their daughter and her setting sail for Kirigakure to begin her own adventure. As a man of the sea himself, Umashi liked that idea, but no sooner than he tried to reach out and respond to his wife, the scene was warped before him as it was now Yomi who was making the meal and going on about their son, the talented Jounin and the upcoming Godaime Hokage Inauguration event.

Like a whirlwind, even that scene faded and suddenly instead of living out both lives, Umashi was standing shoulder to shoulder with the creature as the two lives appeared to be screens on a wall before them. Pointing to the one and then the other, the creature began to point out all the possibilities for Umashi.
"You could have it all, the woman you want, the daughter that was snatched from you and a life full of nothing but sun and surf. Or . . . you could explore the life with a new flame, that young Sennin of yours, I see the way that she winks at you." The creature chuckled as more scenes began to play out before Umashi and the years stretched out further and further. "I offer all of this to you as I offered to many others. Many may see me as a monster but as one of the most aged and wizened beings in their great land of ours, I stand as the giver of choice, a benevolent being who only wishes to see his subjects happy." Caught up fully in the scenes playing out before him, Umashi almost didn't catch the creatures words but the rational part of his mind clued in on the words and suddenly, Umashi knew just what he was dealing with.

"You're the t-" His words cut off, the being nodded and spoke. "Yes, I am. You caught on faster than the last Daimyo. How he loved he wife so. You two are similar you know, which is why I just had to offer you the choice." The tree's words were alluring, slick with deception and yet Umashi still saw some truth in them. Playing the game, Umashi suddenly gained a sinking feeling in his gut. Today happiness would elude him once more. "What's in it for you?" A simple question, but one that would further allow Umashi to rationalize on the previous historical decade in the Fire Country. "You're dreams give me life, Umashi. Like a good father I wish to give you all the things that you could ever want in life. Your happiness is my only request, do you wish to be happy?" The way the creature asked the question, Umashi almost garnered a pleading tone from the creature. No doubt it was due to the hopes and dreams of all of those within the country that the tree had managed this long, and that was probably why they could almost never hope to destroy it. Just as absolute power absolutely corrupted, the Daimyo no doubt had started out with a dream as all men did, only he didn't want his dream to end and instead of simply living out his own dreams, he forced his dreams on everyone else.

Umashi would not be that man. Despite being wronged so many times in his life, despite wanting just a small slice of happiness, despite doubting his own cause and those of others at times, he would not knowing live this lie.
"Do you wish to be happy?" The creature asked the question once more and suddenly it was before him, hand outstretched beckoning Umashi towards either of the two paths before him. His heart strings were tugged in more than one direction. To be with his wife again would allow his heart feel again, but to try something new, with something new, might allow it to heal. Some choices were never fair but if this creature was to be believed . . . he could have them both. Gulping, the man that many looked up to as the Hokage, the beacon of protection for the village, was scared.

There was that cost to consider and he was unable to pay it despite knowing that he'd give anything to be able to. Despite being afraid, Umashi knew that there were people back in the real world waiting on him. People that wouldn't just simply be ok if he went off to enjoy his own slice of heaven, people that lived with the same doubts and regrets that he did every day. As if playing by the tune of the heart strings that Umashi had attached to them, moments of happiness, moments of passion, moments of tenderness and moments of accomplishment began to rapidly flash before him. Afraid for himself but empowered for them, the people of Konoha, he opened his mouth to speak as suddenly the space around him grew dark and he could no longer see the two different lives before him. There was only him, the creatures eyes, and the darkness.
"Do you wish to be happy?" This time the words uttered from the darkness were more forceful, more malicious and Umashi uttered the only word that he knew he could, despite fully well knowing that it was a lie. "No . . ."

Without the sort of showy display of ability that the creature had shown before, Umashi found himself cast back into the darkness of night, a somehow welcome bright ending to the ordeal. Hearing the stirring of the creatures and seeing the moon through the brush, Umashi recognized that he was in the forest of death. His sense fully becoming in tune to the sounds of the night, he caught sight of a lamp light that was approaching him on the path that he'd been dropped off on. "We shall meet again Lord Hokage." Having taken on the guise of an owl, Umashi recoiled back as he watched the creature take off from a low hanging branch. Still wearing his black ANBU gear from the party, the voices on the pathway towards him started to get closer and Umashi didn't find himself with the energy to make a speedy exit. Whoever stumbled upon him would simply do that, stumble upon him. From the position of the moon, the hour was well beyond when he'd initially left the party. He'd have some explaining to do in the morning.

OOC: Umashi dropped off in the forest of death about 5ish hours after he disappeared. Still dressed in his all black ANBU gear with the blacked out lion mask on.

Standing in the thick of the moment Tamashii would still try to continue to keep his distance while keeping the lady company. However, he could smell the bit of alcohol on her. . . so there was no going on like that. Plus, this was the man he considered to be his best active friend's girl. He wouldnt dare. That was a no-go on the bro code. At any pace he did this to stand infront of any advances anyone else had on her. Women included. So with a chance in the music he would find himself position himself rocking his hips with hers, 'I can handle this... I can handle this..' he would say up until she leaned in and spoke into him. Literally speaking as she did... shattered him internally he didnt know how to cope with it. He tried as he might to keep his demeanor up. however, those hips...

"For what... Goddess of Fire...", speaking under the noise of the music but still so she could hear him, he would move his own hands to hover over her hips allowing the space between them to be closer but yet not touching. There was something that was quite off about all of this. Tamashii wondered what was going through Yomi's head. What kind of fog was she in? Would she think the same thing he thought? Losing himself to dance? Losing yourself to the surroundings? Maybe... just maybe. Shaking his head, it would seem the music would continue... More this time. A younger boy singing this time. Though the lyrics didnt help... bringing him back to a time when he would do the things in this song. Though, now he found himself rolling his abdomen and dropping his hips. A grinding motion. Though, even now he would not touch her body to his.

"You make me wanna~"
