Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

The time was mid-day, the scheduled time which both fit within his role of Head Jounin as well as the day's open time slot at the academy. The notice was posted in the academy billboard and he calmly waited upon a clearing that was the training ground many students used during their training days. Balanced upon a target log, he sat quietly with both arms resting on his legs and his eyes staring at the sky, possibly caught within a daydream. Though it was not the clouds he watched but a trail of smoke rising from the tip of his cigarette, thinking deeply while the smoke danced with the breeze. As expected he was fully equipped as an on duty Jounin was expected to be, with his flak vest and headband worn and belt pouches fastened along his waistline.

"This is really a bad habit...I suppose I should try quitting at some point. Ehh"
  • Due to this being the holiday season I will be allowing a 96 hour (4 day) posting deadline.
  • The class will start either when 3 or more students post or when December 26th arrives.
  • Genin are welcome to attend.
  • When the class starts missing a posting deadline without prior notice will incur a penalty, rack up 3 penalties and you will automatically fail this class.

Time is money in the eyes of a man driven by wealth. However Megumi was not a man or interested in money, save from a few needs for it. She could be working on improving her ability as a ninja or her craft.

Her mind continued to sour as she thought about how much time she was wasting sitting around the academy waiting for the next period. Flexing her pride and joy, she could not help but think of the new additions she could make to her right arm.

Making her way down the mirrored halls, she spotted a few students focusing on the info board. Maybe there was a new posting that had been added recently, or these were just more forgetful or tardy members of this year's class. Right now she had nothing better to do, might as well sate her curiosity. Peering over the small group that had formed around the board, she noticed a new entry among the basic announcements and upcoming events. The new member to the collection of various colours of papers, was nothing special in the form of advertisement but the idea of an extra class to pass the time was worth the entire board.

Making her way to the training grounds. Megumi wondered why a head jounin would be teaching an academy class, and one as basic as chakra control. Jouins usually take on genin groups after they pass the academy. Though the poster of the class was Head Jonin Yukata Oyochi. The whole “class” had her on edge. Something about it felt off, taking it as just an extracurricular program did not feel right.

Upon reaching the training grounds, Megumi was met with another odd sight. There was no mistaking that the man was representing the clothes of a rank and file Jonin, however his actions seemed a little off. Looking at the bleached banana staring off into the clouds adding his own clouds of his own to the atmosphere, did no favors for her suspicions.

Since they were the only two there currently, and it was a training grounds. The trinker, slid a kunai out of one of holster around her only pant leg, and tossed it at the target the Jonin was preached atop of. A thunk thunk echoed off of the well used target. While he aim was on target, that would never hit the man that stood atop of it. Megumi would pull out another kunai and ready it, just incase her introductions were not heard for the daydreaming Sensei.

Sora was nearly a Genin now, he had only a couple more classes to complete before he was qualified to graduate. Of course the entrance exams to become a Genin wouldn't be difficult for the Uchiha at all. Out of all the students in not just his class, but grade, he was at the top. One would think he was some perfect student and such, but that was far off. He wasn't some natural, sure he had talent, but that was backed up by plenty of hours of blood sweat and tears. Sora always put in his extra practicing when he got home, alone. This however brought the illusion he was a natural genius. This idea wouldn't be wrong though, since there is more than one kind of genius.

As Sora considered his classes, he didn't necessarily need any specific ones to graduate. He knew what he needed to graduate already due to studying outside of class on his own. Plus his older brother taught him many things. After looking at the available classes, he came upon one that obviously stuck out. One being taught by the Head Jounin. Usually a Chuunin or new Jounin would teach a class, but this time however it was somebody rather high up in the rankings. Since he didn't need any specific classes, he decided to take this one.

He showed up to the scheduled destination wearing his usual attire for combat. Why would he dress for combat? Well, most classes were just lectures and he assumed this one about chakra, and even ones about Taijutsu would have some combat implemented into it. He figured he may as well come prepared instead of wearing his hoodie and pants. Sora instead wore his black pullover, short sleeved jacket. It was pitch black with red edges to the sleeves and bottom, as well as the inside to the tall collar that rose just below his ears. In the front the collar however dropped off into a V-neck to reveal the black shirt he wore underneath. On his back was of course, the Uchiha crest enlarged and centered on his back. Just the sight was enough to send shivers down the spines of some. On his arms he had black armbands. For his lower half he had a pair of white cargo shorts with a butt bag as well. Sora also wore black sandals instead of blue which rose 3/4 up to his knees. From the ankle to an inch from the top, it was wrapped in white tape.

As the Uchiha strolled in, hands in his pockets he noticed the teacher from the start, and somebody else, though it seems they didn't see him yet since they pulled out a Kunai. He wondered why they pulled it out, but then they threw it at their teacher. Sora was already walking in the line of fire so he simply sped up his pace to get there a bit quicker so he could grab the Kunai out of the air. He looked at it for a moment to see if it was poisoned or anything, but then decided to pocket it himself. He did notice they had another Kunai, but figured with him stepping in the way they would decide to put their weapon away.

He didn't pay any mind to the attacker, he figured it was just somebody wanting to show off to the Jounin, even though they were nothing to him. Sora continued walking before stopping a few meters from the teacher. There were likely a couple more students on the way so he'd have to wait. In the meantime his piercing coal colored eyes scanned around the area until he was more familiar with it. In case the other person did turn psycho he'd need to learn the terrain a bit. Once satisfied he set his gaze upon the teacher, hands slipped into his pockets as he waited for class to begin.

Kawakami Tomo was much older than the other two students and quite likely the oldest student in the village. Unlike them she was not from a shinobi village and did not discover the shinobi arts until later in life. When she last met the man teaching the class, he became quite curious of her. His curiosity paid off for he now knows one thing few people know; her true name, but of course he was explicitly told never to us it in public. The clan to which she belongs to demands she abandons her name. If they found out she was using it again, it could be bad news for her.

Tomo was dressed in the usual pirate-like attire with both a pistol and a cutlass on her belt. On her shoulder was a parrot that stares at each of the kids. Tomo was half tempted to shoot the cigarette from the man’s mouth, but she decides against it. Tomo looked pretty much the same as last time the jounin met her, though she did seem to have put on a little more weight. While the two other students didn’t say a word she spoke up, “Well hello there handsome. Pleasure to meet you again.” Her bird then repeats hello handsome a couple of times as if greeting him as well.

"Wait for me, wait for me!"

A frantic voice came from down the hallway, it was only moments before a girl came sliding through the exit of the academy and into the training grounds through the door, checking her shoulder on the door frame, hitting it hard enough to splinter it ever so slightly. She bounded off and spun in a circle, slamming on the ground outside, scuffing her pants with dirt. She let out a big puff of air as she shifted her legs under her to get comfortable in her new position, she seemed pretty unaffected by the physical trauma she just endured, but she was always a tough kid. Or perhaps she just wasn't smart enough to know she was hurt, either way she was here. It was class time, and she looked rather unprepared. She was wearing what looked like a surgical mask on her head like a hat, the straps around her ears as if she had been using it and lifted it up in a hurry. Her outfit consisted of what looked like a mix match of pajamas and business casual, rocking banana print bottoms and an overly large dress shirt, fully buttoned and a blazer, also overly large. You couldn't see her hands because they were in the sleeves. She had simply raided her mothers closet before she left. She really didn't have a style, just came as she was.

"Hi birdy! Oh pretty birdy!"

She addressed the bird on one of the students shoulders, the rather older woman whom seemed to be flirting with the instructor, though she ignored that because oh my god, a bird in class, how exciting! A brief look around the open, totally outside and not inside area, after addressing the bird with a woman under it, she saw a uchiha, how did she know? They tell you, in the form of a huge ice cream cone on their back, or so she assumed it was. She liked ice cream! The other was an intense young girl, like the opposite of her. Had she missed something cool before she came out? She would inquire at a later date when there weren't people around ready to learn.

Sara occasionally went to the academy in Konoha, watching a few of the instructors teaching the students in attendance. The methods they taught here were vastly different from back in Stone. That was the allure to her. What differences were being installed onto these 'fresh to the shinobi world' minds. Though, she wasn't one to speak, always something new to learn in any ranking. But it was the differences that were...different. Would the students here be sharper then her brethren? Would they know something she didn't and grow at a faster pace then she? Maybe they would be weaker? That is what brought her here. The ifs and possibilities. Sara knew there was plenty she was still shy on. Even her own skills capabilities were lost upon her at times. She had high hopes as she looked upon the board of extracurricular classes being offered. Kunai training, kunai training, kunai, shurriken, kunai, handsigns 101. All rather boring. Then one of them just said the words Chakra on it. This brought up an interesting subject to her. She had many questions about chakra that she felt reluctant to ask. Chakra was such a basic subject for shinobi, but it was complex. 'Some have greater control of it like medics, some were more capable with it or had more of it. Others, like her, had more access to it. Why?' She looked for the name of the teacher and didn't recognize it, but the ranking was especially high compared to most classes offered. Chuunin was the usual rank of the teacher, but someone higher then Jounin, this class should be interesting. She looked at the time then behind at a clock and back at the posting..."Aww, sh"

Several other students stood around the postings of the grounds, the one that appeared most developed sitting on a post before all. She took a deep breath and exited the tree line onto the field and continued to examine those around. All seemed quite unique except the classy jounin. A clad in black figure, one that couldn't pick between banana adornment or business casual, the pirate. With a freaking bird. This class got interesting. People here in Konoha were unique to say the least. And then, the one with the odd chakra-less appendage. It almost appeared dead to her starlit eyes. Though something was controlling it. It still didn't appear right.

She ventured further onto the field, into the sunlight that burned as she passed the shadows. She weaved some hand signs and focused for a second and placed her hand to her heart and instantly felt a wave of relievement course through her. It didn't reduce the brightness but the pain wasn't so any longer. The feeling was soothing and calming. Without it life seemed hard and cruel and chaotic.

Sara stuck to the back of the area, out of clear view of most. She had high hopes for the class but she was still uncertain about asking the questions that she wished.

....He would suddenly sneeze as if someone in the world at that instance was talking about him...

First impressions were important to enable parties to predetermine what caliber of person they were liable to be dealing with. In this case it would have adapted how Oyochi would see and gauge each student's personality and potential skill level. The first of such came from the first to arrive, not really ironic in any measure of the term, a young girl to who wasted no time. Albeit his gaze had been preoccupied with the rising smoke trail, his trained senses followed exactly what she was up to. She was a dynamic youth though possibly quick to judgement. Adjusting his gaze somewhat to keep a bead on the kunai's trajectory, he quickly found reason enough not to showcase a reaction.

The second student, being one whom undoubtedly was a poster child for both showing off and seriousness. Though he did show some of the fundamental skills every shinobi must possess in order to graduate. Personally he would be lying if he said the boy did not leave some possibility of future notoriety, it was just that currently he was viewing the youth as child with a (everything has to be about me) notice me complex. What little presented potential hope in saving himself from such a deciding opinion of character was put down in the exposure of the youth's clan lineage. It was almost to much of a perfect fit as far as destiny was concerned as those who inherited the sharingan all seemed predestined to be a problem. This was not to say that this child, with proper guidance could not become reliable for his up and coming generation. It was mainly to legitimize the status quo of that clan's inheritance, which he had personal knowledge of to cement the assumption.

Behind the young uchiha strolled in a woman wearing a---oh shit it is Haruken.

200px-Anirage-alternate.svg.png

For present stability of myself both present and future I will avoid revealing thoughts regarding this woman.

His fourth arrival wouldn't prove to hard to prejudge given her assumed shyness. Oyochi was quickly forced to withdraw that opinion as the girl was showing herself to be quite a socialite. Negative sentiments quickly followed as he mentally diagnosed her as dead weight. She screamed to him, a child only here because others were. He wondered if she had any thread of seriousness required for such an occupation. She would have to have her resolve challenged if he was to see and grow to expect great things from her.

The young girl who arrived last did not have to worry about having her character predigested, because Oyochi was already knowledgeable regarding who she was. Very few young shinobi from Iwagakure had decided to remain within a new village and seeing as they shared a native village he was all but aware of her. As far as knowing her on a personal level there was nothing to piggyback upon as he strictly knew details regarding her shinobi title. If he was not mistaken she was a genin trying to pursue the medical route. Easy enough to remember considering how few choose such an option.

Adjusting his form along the log, Oyochi would stand with little challenge to his balance and make a quick address to his class. Both hands remained nestled within his pant's pockets and he spoke while balancing his now halfway burned through cigarette.

"Chakra..It is within everything considered living and we shinobi utilize it's potential and force as the main tool to our survival. This is the reason you are taught basic principles behind chakra and how it applies to our lifestyle. Generally you would have to learn more advanced aspects as part of growing up and experiencing situations on your own. That is why this class exists, to give you a more defined and dynamic understanding of a shinobi' most important weapon."

Reaching into his belt pouch, after unfastening the flap, Oyochi would produce for the class to see small stack of paper slips. Removing five, he would walk up to each student and hand them a single slip of paper before storing the rest back into his storage pouch. An explanation for exactly why they were holding pieces of paper quickly followed.

"Everyone is born connected to chakra and each of us are also born attuned to a distinct chakra nature. All shinobi know that the basic elements of chakra are Suiton or water, Katon or fire, Futon or wind, Raiton or lightning and Doton or earth. In the same order each losses natural strength over the next and understanding this fundamental. That paper reacts to your chakra and will reveal your bodies innate chakra type. By simply concentrating a small amount of chakra into the paper how it reacts will tell you. Water if it becomes wet, fire if it begins to burn, wind if it tears in half, lightning if it shribbles up and earth if it starts to crumble. Try it.."

As they would go about doing as he instructed, Oyochi's palms would interlock and begin to very slowly and carefully weave handseals.
Assignment
- Roleplay channeling chakra into the paper and the paper's reaction to your chosen element. (Please make these element choices ones that hold importance to your character icly)

Notes

Hakuren is from the village of Andaran. It is a village of spell casters, though they are a little untrusting to outsiders. Much like how Tsuchimakado cast metal jutsu with talismans, the people of her village use magic circles. These magic circle are scribed out of what is her village calls mana. Mana is the fusion of spiritual and physical energy and in the shinobi world it is referred to as chakra. To pour one’s mana into a piece of paper and properly imbue it with its power requires meditation. One must have a clear mind and a calm body in order to perform this task. With eyes closed she begins to look deep within herself. She pictures her soul as a small flame within her body. It shines within her body and flickers with every heartbeat. She concentrates on her breathing taking slow deep breathes. The air mixes with the fire and fans the flame. Ever so gradually it gets bigger, hotter and brighter. The light, the light was almost tangible as it flowed through her body like little streams. As more light was put out the rivers begin to flood in excess. Hakuren places a hand above the piece of paper and directs the flow of light down her arm. Though invisible to the human eye from the palms of her hand she pours out the essence of her mana. The paper then splits in two showing that she has an affinity for wind.

It was not unexpected that other academy members would want to take part in the class. Though Megumi did not appreciate her conversation being interrupted, by walking angst. Looking at the boy that subscribed to black is the new black magazine, and seemed more dressed to see a death metal band than a lecture on chakra. From his to cool for school attitude and clan symbol that stuck out almost as much as his ego, she was no doubt spending her time with an Uchiha.

She wanted to remind him that strolling through a range was not the best idea. However by his lack of eye contact, and his posture. Megumi doubted that a someone so closed in would be affected by outside interference.

Placing her second kunai away, as they seemed to have the preached chimney’s attention however small it might be. Maybe a simple hello would have sufficient, but then a new element entered with an effect of an anchor parting the sea.

Megumi rubbed her eyes as the sea captain grew closers to the sensei of this class, her sword and pistol clicking with every step. Megumi’s eyes did not deceive her as their it stood, a woman who seemed to have confused the academy with a movie set. Though this priate already had her sights on her buried treasure.

As the women, made her intentions for being here very clear, the bird that followed up with a repeat only cemented that the women would rather shiver his timbers than learn about chakra. Letting out a sigh as she had lost by a nautical miles, as the captain was to affective on their sensei. Giving the boy who took her toy away, a small glance as she spoke jokingly. “ I know what to use next time instead of a kunai”.

While Megumi tried to chip away at the ice, another girl and there next entry smashed through it. Crashing through the school and sliding in for homebase, was a girl who looked like she had a match with her wardrobe and lost. Thankfully she was more interested in the captain's avian friend than her prosthetic arm.

There last but certainly not least new addition.. Was normal, almost to normal. Considering the last two entries to the class, her appearance was suspicious in contrast. This girl usperped Megumi’s positions as the youngest member, but her eyes and the way she carried herself. She knew that this girl is the most sheltered of the group. She could not help, but feel slightly jealous of the soft girl. Whoever she was, Megumi’s fake drew her attention like most people that saw her. Casually waving her arm at the girl to see what kind of reaction she could get out of her. Megumi wondered what her response would be; fear, disgust or interest.

The movement for there sensei’s end, meant that the class was getting underway. His explanation of chakra was very basic, and entry level. It was a good start for those who were just learning. Megumi gave all of her attention to their sensei as he spoke. She wanted add to explanation, but she refrained from interrupting the stepping stone format that he was enlisting.

Tensing up and reading herself, as he approached to hand her the paper. Maybe she was just being paranoid, but such a basic lesson could be done by any ninja, that fact that someone of his level was teaching it was suspicious. As the transaction of the paper between them happened, Megumi would thank him, with a polite tone and a barely noticeable hint of disappointment and relief, as she would have no chance against a jonin, more so without setting up and being in close combat with him. Looking down at the pieces of paper. She would hold it with both of her hands creating the connection throughout her body and soul. Sending her chakra through the paper and back, she could feel the heat rise through it until it reached it’s limit on its’ resistance to heat and brunt. Waving the smokey paper lazily as the smoke formed into clouds that matched those of the sensei’s cigaret. After she had put the paper out, she held onto it waiting for the next part of the lesson.

As the others entered, all in a unique way, Sora remained silent. Even silent at the comment directed towards him. It didn't matter what they threw. This person wasn't a match for him. Of course that arm was likely something that couldn't be underestimated. You'd think he'd be surprised by the pirate, or the loud one, or by the very.. normal one.

When sensei began, it seemed he got right to the point. He started off with explaining the chakra natures, which he already knew. This paper test however, he hadn't done before. He easily understood what to do though as he said merely put chakra in it to show your chakra nature. He already knew it was likely to be fire since he is an Uchiha afterall.

Sora held the paper between his index and middle fingers and watched it as he channeled his chakra into it. He knew it'd be fire, he already even knew some fire techniques. The paper shriveled up as if somebody crumpled it up in a ball to throw it, but then undid the ball. The creases were still there and everywhere. He was confused. He had plenty of fire style techniques yet it said deep down, he could used lightning.

(Merry Christmas everybody.)

The bird ignored her, that put a sour look on her face, but was wiped almost instantly as the class began and her spastic attention shifted to the lesson at hand. Everyone got a slip of paper, a chakra paper that was meant to show an affinity for a certain chakra type. Apparently the paper was made special, how that was she didn't know, but she was to use this to determine such an affinity. So once she had the paper in her hand, she held it and stared at it blankly. Looking around, she noticed others concentrating on their own slip in one way or another so she brought her attention to the paper herself. She squinted, and put it real close to her face and forced her will on the paper. She didn't concentrate and let it flow, or use a fancy symbol, or anything like that. She simply did what amounts to a super power up scream in her head at it. It responded by blowing up in her face, she dropping the pieces in surprise, they falling to the ground in cinders. Her face was covered in soot, as she blinked blankly, raising her slightly black burnt hand. It appeared she was prone to injury, but when you were that spastic it tended to happen.

"I think mine is fire..." she stated plainly, before bringing her hand down and wiping it on her shirt. Her nice dress shirt was now dirty, and nothing big has even happened yet. She would make a shocked noise after she did it, as if to be surprised wiping dirt on her made her dirty. She'd cross her arms over the dirt to hide it, as if she'd done nothing at all.

The girl waved at her familiarly, and Sara waved back happily. She could see the tiny lines running up it from the girls chest and along the arm, but nothing else. Something was odd about, but she couldn't tell what. She ventured closer tot eh party and stopped as the teacher awoke from his slumber. He started with a rather organic view of chakra, the one peddled on students early on. Then she thought on his first chosen words. "Living! That is it! Your arm isn't alive!" She said aloud with exuberance, cutting off the last few words (between changing subjects/paragraphs) of Oyochi speaking. "So..those....lines.."</COLOR><i></i> She looked at the people and then the teacher as she said the last few words and cut it short. <COLOR color="#00BF80">"Not the best time?", she said under breath.

She took the paper she was handed and listened to the next set of instructions. She would try to follow the flow of what was being taught for the time being, and avoid any outbursts. At least for the time being. She had her own questions to be answered, especially after she found out the purpose of the papers.

She pulled the paper in front of her face and looked at it. She already knew what it would do. 'Crumple up. Though I wonder if I could make it burn, and even slice in half. Could it tell advanced elements?' Though Oyochi did make it sound like a more basic form was all it could tell. And he even made it sound like it could only tell the most intrinsic nature manipulation one could do. So most likely the one first manifested.

Sara easily watched what everyone else was doing. Everything. She saw the chakra move under their skin as they concentrated. One sliced through, another burst into flames, and another just wafting so slightly with smoke, and then the boy's in black started to crumple like she would expect hers to. "Meh" she had enough control over chakra to do all three. But could she do it without actually manifesting the element? Not much concentration was needed as she released an insignificant amount of chakra through the palms of her hands with little focus on concentration. The small paper shirked in her hands as one piece after another bent, twisting and mutilating the paper in her hands. The small paper danced, popping around from one end to the other, jumping into the air so slightly each time. She put her other hand near it in case it choose to jump out. She tried to change her chakra format somehow to allow another element to manifest but it didn't seem to want to take, only folding the paper forming even smaller bends within. It didn't stop her though from continuing to try! Every once in a while the paper would grab some air time popping above her head.

As he watched each student utilize the paper he had given them, some with a bit more difficulty than other's his fingers continued to intertwine into various hand gestures. Lowering his center of gravity, he would place his palms along the ground and a light utterance from his lips which would be audible to them all. Cutting a path through the ground and segregating each student from next would be very large cracks in the soil beneath their feet. Portions of rock and earth broke and became dislodged as their footing would be thrown off balance.

"Doton Release...Earthslide Wall.."

Being that the area was a training ground, it was hardly any problem with a bit of terraforming for a good reason. Four large slabs of earth erupted around the group and rose high into the air entrapping them within a boxed area but more so they would notice that portions of the earth ramparts were not only made with rock and dirt but also sections of metal alloy. Placing his palms into his pockets, Oyochi's eyes gave a stern glare towards the students while he thought about how he was going to structure his words.

"Understanding chakra and how it works is fundamental, including the various properties of the basic chakra elements and knowing how various advanced elements work. It wouldn't be such a pleasant mission if you ran into a jutsu which you were unable to correctly decipher. So for your tasks as students in this class you goal will be to correctly counter my attack. Do that and you will have passed this initial class and proven you have some competency in shinobi arts."

His lips would curve into a light smirk as his body became discolored and void of the usual details that one might associate with his body. Instead his skin became an earthly brown with the consistency of mud, as his entire form fell apart. The group of students would hear a whistle from above given them enough time awareness to look up at Oyochi standing on the edge of the rampart. The efficiency of his handseal speed was evident as he performed the signs effortlessly before shouting..

"Saton Release...Sandstorm Veil.."

The boxed trap that they were within, which was made of walled rock and metal would become their true test. If they were keen in sight, some would be able to recognize sections of earth and rock almost suddenly became displaced almost as if pulverized as in their stead would be a looming cloud of sand. This sand would start freefalling high above their heads though it did not act as if a physically intact mass. Instead as the second ticked by the amount of sand that was gathering and lingering along the wind would eventually blot out the students to see anything past it as it descended down further. Through the veil of sand, they would hear his warning...

"If you are caught within the sandstorm, you will find your ability to see and focus to be severely damaged...a death sentence to a shinobi caught within this trap out in the local areas."

His arms crossed as he wondered how they would handle suddenly being descended upon by a cloud of sand falling upon then. Moreso he wondered how creative they may be.

Notes:
  • Now that the holidays are over, I will be resuming an active post timelime like before.
  • for rp purposes you are all trapped within a large cube of stone which is fillng up with suffocating and eye stinging cloud of sand.
  • To pass you must successfullcy make out of the pit while avoiding the sand's effect.

With this situation, it wouldn't be easy to escape for most of them. Sora however had an advantage. Basic knowledge was that lightning release was superior to earth release, which was what this Jutsu was. Meaning a Jutsu or two would be enough to break the one trapping him... right? At least that's what one would think. He only knew a handful of Jutsu that would be effective, so he decided his plan quickly before the Sand had time to do anything to him.

Sora pulled out the Kunai he snatched out of the air earlier and stabbed it at the wall, then with a few handseals he used the lightning release Electroshock Jutsu. He placed his hands on the same wall as the Kunai the run electricity through it which spread to the whole cube. Swiftly after that he ran through another set of practices handseals and grabbed the Kunai. This time he sued the Lightning Release Thunderfist which would transfer the electricity from his hand to his weapon instead, this made it extra sharp of course plus it would be like a knife cutting through butter due to the wall already being weakened from the previous Jutsu along with this current Jutsu.

The Kunai slid out of the earth he stabbed it into easily which he then thruster through the wall. It pierced. With a small smile he then cut a rectangle in the wall and then an 'X' in it. The Kunai easily cut through the earth since it was overflowing with lightning. With that the earth wall crumbled and he stepped out into safety. Of course, he was the first or it seemed. He didn't notice anybody else have the lightning release as well so he figured he would be the first to escape. Once reaching freedom he looked at the instructor. By this point the Jutsu was over and it was just a normal Kunai once more, which he'd pocket again while awaiting further instruction.

Attempt Mod 1: Zap-Trap

There were many things shinobi should do when faced with a sudden challenge and assumption of victory was not one of them. The young Uchiha's initial plan while normally correct in design had failed to take into account both the density of the earthen barrier which the group was trapped within as well as take note that the wall was equally integrated with metal. What would happen was that as soon as the lightning current conncected with the wall, it's discharge would immediately be conducted throughout the wall, extremely weakening the cutting contact his kunai had. While a much stronger lightning Jutsu may have overcome the walls metal integrity, such a low level Jutsu simply would not have the power to do so.

Instead of escaping, Sora would find his decision had made the groups overall situation much harder as now their entrapment would be conducting low amounts of electrical voltage. The wall itself would only have a small X engraved, barely deep enough to cover one's fingernail fully. From above Oyochi continued to smirk before critiquing the first attempt as his voice would be easily audible through the sand veil.

"A good attempt marred by functional flaws. There is a reason I mentioned elemental properties because while normally lightning trumps earth, you forgot that your cage is not solely comprised of just simple rock. Worse is that you assumed a low level elemental technique would still have the usual elemental strengths which is not the case when used against far superior Jutsu. Doton Release: Earthslide Wall is an rank A jutsu...you are not trapped within something paper thin that a simple kunai enforced with lightning can overcome alone..."

[Status]
  • For the next 3 posts by students, the wall will be electrified meaning that any physical contact with the wall itself will zap the person touching it.

As the curious girl waved back happily, it seemed as she could not hold back her excitement over Megumi’s personal creation. Her claims of her arm being alive, but not alive and her taking notice of the string, swelled the puppeteers pride in her work. It was a compliment on her control and craftsmanship. By the girl’s statement, it was on par with a living arm even when she was not trying to make appear as such.

While she realised that she was interrupting the class with her outburst and shyly focused on the task at hand. Megumi could not help, but give a small giggle at the girl’s embarrassment, however after class she would sate her curiosity. It was the least she could do, after she had giving her a entertaining reaction.

Seeing the other’s affinities. The pirate would sail the seas with the wind on her back. The girl with the explosive affinity would match her own explosive personality. Lightning for the flashy Uchiha, and one student who forgot what their Sensei asked of them.

Feeling the ground beneath her feet quake as she looked to the Banana Sensei who called out a jutsu, most likely to give a hint to the students. Megumi would jump to the side as the four massive walls closed off her and her fellow students from the world, only the light from the top of the pit blead into their new world. Their Sensei would give them their goal of the assignment and what it entailed. “ Understanding chakra and it’s elements”. As Megumi thought to herself, she examined the wall and check its composition. While the name he called out gave the element away, the wall itself was comprised of metals and minerals. None of her abilities, items and jutsu could break through it on her own.

This wall would be hard enough to counter on it’s own, but then another called attack rang out from the outside and a large sandstrom began to brew. Taking out her puppets and using them as cover, as the storm impaired her vision and hearing. Taking off her vest and wrapping it around her head to help block the sand from getting in her eye. Megumi looked around her prison. The sand was increasing in volume as time went on, turning her prison into a hourglass.

Peering over Ibuki’s shoulder, she would she the Uchiha boy make the first move. Seeing him pull out the kunai he had snacted for her earlier. He would form hands sighs and pulse electricity through the blade. “ Hey wait don’t use lightning on the wall”! Her words did not reach him in time or the storm muffled her words. As he touched the wall, the lightning surged through the walls and gave the boy a taste of his own chakra.

Working her way over to Sora, she would kneel down to check on him. “ Hey are you okay”! Looking at him as she yelled through the storm. Looking around as she used her puppets to cover her and Sora from the storm as much as possible. She could not see the others from her position and all she could hear was the snapping of the walls conducting electricity. With another new disadavage added to their test. She would have to get everyone attention and try to gather them together. Throwing a flash bomb high above their position, Megumi would yell out for the rest of the students to gather below the light.

They is a few things Oyochi might know about the pirate Tomo. She’s skilled with a gun, loves to gamble and she cheats at cards. Oyochi might have the upper hand now, but Tomo had a few cards up her sleeve. To throw people off from connecting the dots, sometimes Hakuren had to be in multiple places at one time. Hakuren would make a clone using one of her forms and then take another form afterwards. Tomo places a combustion seal on one of her bullets with thus place a minor fire jutsu trap on it. Loading the pistol and aiming straight up she fires. Ones she believes the bullet reached enough altitude she releases the seal thus making it work like a flare. This unfortunately scares the bird and it flies away saying abandon ship over and over. After losing sight of it in the sandstorm, there was a thumb, a sound of an electric shock and a loud screech. The parrot then falls to the ground paralyzed. “Not the brightest bird.”

Meanwhile in the academy build Ino was attending a lecture based class on the history of Kanohagakure. The teachers voice was completely monotone and listening to him drone on was proving a challenge. The student beside her already pass out with his head flat against the desk. Ino finds herself looking out the window wondering if Tomo was having a better time. It was then she saw the plume of flame. It was the signal which meant Tomo was in trouble. Ino apologizes to the teacher, opens the window and jumps out. The class was held on the first floor so it was easy enough to do. Ino then begins running towards the training grounds.

When she got there she was a bit surprised at what she saw. She yells at the large metal structure unsure if her voice would even reach, “Hey Tomo, what type of trouble did you get yourself into this time.” Ino assumes Tomo was trapped inside and walks around to look for any weak points in the walls. It is true such weaknesses would be hidden from the group inside by the sandstorm, but that is not the case from the outside.

Sara watched the earth break, crumble and rise above her. This was a familiar jutsu to her, though looked stronger. Why was he surrounding them with such a building? He annoucned what the objective was. To her it was a simple matter. She had used a lighting jutsu to complete her ANBU training back in Stone. Sara started to weave signs slowly/ Shortly after, just before finishing sand started to pour in. Sara looked down and tried to shield her eyes from the stinging sand. She reached in her pocket and pulled out her twin rings and activated the lightning element within. She activated her aura and looked to see what the others were doing. while blocking her eyes entirely. One of the students used a basic lightning jutsu, 'smart, but..' he touched the kunai to the wall and saw it absorb the lightning and electrify the entire dome. Another went to meet the ally and check to make sure he was alright. Sara reached for the wall, and pulsed her lighting chakra to her hands, trying to absorb the lighting from the wall, and see if she could punch through it. Slowly she increased the amount of chakra to see how much was needed to punch through (up to A RANK basic electrified melee strike).

Was it her place to just end what this guy was trying to make happen? She watched as the flare like thing was sent up and Sara headed towards it, mostly to see what they had planned, along with if they needed help. Sara dredged through he sand, now ankle deep. It was becoming hard to move around, she might have to act sooner then later, but for the moment the danger was minimal. As she got to the small group, she looked them over and didn't see anything that would need attention, but she still asked.

"Do you need help? Are you hurt?"

  • Armor of the Moon and Sun:
    Class: Unarmed
Ability: Can use handseals while armed
    Modification: +2 accuracy/-10% damage
Augments: Discription: An adorned ring, worn by Sara, it was an item passed down to her by her father. Where he got the ring was never revealed to her. A few days after being handed the ring, while training, the ring split into two, changed from gold to black and white, and some words scribed on the ring appeared. Sara didn't question the reasoning, the why, and just placed the other ring onto her finger. If that wasn't odd enough, the rings passed on odd abilities to the young girl. This item possess the power of releasing and manipulating her chakra on it's own, forming it into that of an element she is capable of utilizing. Another ability passed on was that of healing. Channeling chakra into the item allows any wound to heal as if someone was using a medical jutsu on her. If it wasn't enough to just have these abilities, when combined with her bloodline's capability of fighting where the softest touch or even a miss can cause sever damage, the armor's greatest abilities can be harnessed and unleashed. The rings are different from each other, one black with white lettering, and the other white with black lettering. The words ascribed on the ring are non-discernible, but the one ring certainly had some great power.

As he used his Jutsu somebody yelled at him not to. He didn't understand why at first. But then when his Jutsu barely had any effect, he was curious. Of course he wasn't hurt or anything since it was his own Jutsu. The others however could get hurt unless somebody sued an equal amount of lightning Jutsu or canceled it. He was confused about how this other girl knew not to use lightning. How did she know? Without waiting any longer his eyes changed to that of the Sharingan. With this he understood. He saw metal within the earth Jutsu which would counter his lightning. Though.. was the other girl some kind of sensor? He looked over at her. "Hey, girl with the arm. Are you a sensor type? How did you know that there was metal inside the earth?"

Sora shook his head. He figured he'd need to work with the others to escape. The other girl, the normal one, seemed to be farther in Lightning than he was and perhaps that would help. Though he didn't understand what the parrot girl was doing. Now he began thinking about if a Goukakyuu No Jutsu (Fireball) would do any damage with its explosive force. This time he didn't try anything as to not waste any chakra. "Well.. enough silence. We need to collaborate to escape so, let's do just that. Working individually ain't going to help here. First off I need to know what chakra nature you all have and what you're capable of so we can make a plan. I'll go first. I can do some Fire style and some minor lightning style techniques. The only weapon I have on me is a Kunai."

Looking over at the younger asked if she needed help. The question was little bit of an oxymoron as they were trapped in an enclosed area with a sandstorm slowly filling up their prison. However looking at her covered face, it showed that she had something working up stairs and might of just offered help out of habit.

Standing up as she looked at the Uchiha, she was trying her hardest not to create discord between the group. However his comment and the way he demanded her to explain everything to him like he was sort of god or perfect being. “ The name is Megumi, don’t have to tell me yours as your harpys screech it out enough”. Moving her puppets to cover herself and let the sand scrap at the Uchiha, she hoped that the sand would whittle down massive ego. “ As to how i knew that their was metal mixed in with the rock, i work with all kinds of materials on a daily basis. I know my periodic table”.

Feeling as he was not listening to her as he immediately went on to talk about working together, of all people he has no grounds to be calling the shots as he had made their situation worse for everyone. There was no way she would listen to a selfish loner like him. Asking about their affinities it was obvious his observational skills were lacking. He would state that he had fire techniques as well as his affinity of lightning. “ If you were paying attention back when we were tasked with focusing chakra through the paper. You would have known that i had fire, and the puppets standing next to me is a give away to another talent. Also i have all kinds of tools and explosives, for all kinds of tricky”. Having her support puppet point to the young lavender haired girl. “ She is still very much a mystery, i heard lighting and it was not from Sora this time. I would assume that it was from you, as the older women was wind and the clumsy one was fire like myself. However you showed plenty of chakra control in your affinity test but not much in the way on an element. By what i saw and your immediate response of asking if needed help, i would put my faith in you being a medical ninja”.

Getting the basics of each other's abilities she would begin to proceed with her plan. “ First of all we need to do something about this sandstorm. If we use any fire abilities weakening than the wind jutsu that is causing this storm. The fire would most likely form into the storm and roast us or simple be put out by the powerful winds. Once…” As she would continue talking about the steps of her plan a voice would echo through the walls. They called out to a Tomo, looking around and asking the younger girl if she was Tomo, but she would say that she is not. Looking back i the direction of the voice, Megumi would yell out to the voice. “ This is not Tomo, but if it’s not too much trouble could you see if their is a structural weakness in one of the walls”!? Speaking up again to tell the voice one last thing. “ One more thing do not touch the walls they are electrified”.
