Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

"Well this is highly unusual" the mission master grunted, turning over several pages of authorization for a D-rank mission. The mission itself was not irregular, he gave out D-rank missions like candy to genin and students scratching their way towards Chuunin level, however, the participants were brow raising. "We're including a Konoha shinobi? Why?"
qkYaxYR.png
The Main Branch Sennin's secretary, the Megumi nodded in agreement and adjusted her glasses "It's a matter of goodwill," she explained curtly, unsure if that was true or not. Yuii had simply passed along the request to her and expected it done, as she did will all things, and had left Megumi in the dark as to the motives behind this exercise of intervillage teamwork. If there was more riding on it than apparent, the secretary did not know.

"What about this one?"

"That will do. I'll make the arrangements.

----

And so it was determined Megumi would meet Kikei and Tatsuo at the Cloud gates by 08:00hrs to deliver their mission briefing. Normally they would just send a dossier and expect their shinobi to find their way, but having a non-local presented the chance that there were questions he could need to be answered.

Megumi didn't deal with kids directly much anymore. The green haired office worker had spent nearly a half decade looking after first Ayumu and now Yuii as they floundered about trying to run the intricacies of her branch. They were childlike enough to squash any maternal desire she had to look after cloud's youth. Being a secretary was not always the most rewarding job, but she was good at it and happy to be of such use to her village

"There has been some trouble in Port Cirrus as of late." she explained, once the pair has arrived, reading over her clipboard, "One of our shinobi, during another mission, came across what appears to be a weapons smuggling ring. Your mission is to check it out, gather whatever information you can and report to the safe-house for any further orders. I trust you've memorised Cirrus' maps and safe houses as part of the basic curriculum, Kikei? You're looking for dock E-12 specifically in an area called salt end. There are a dozen warehouses attached to it that are under suspicion."

That was, at the heart of it, why Tatsuo could not be expected to complete even a D-rank mission on his own. He had none of the knowledge needed to aptly navigate their country and would do no better than one of those well-named wanderers who blundered about pretending to be shinobi.

"Let me be clear, you're not to engage anyone or let your presence be known in a way that can be traced back to Kumo. This is preliminary work only, so take no action. If the ships are guarded, stay off them. In an out." She did not know either child well, and if it were her choice they would have an escort, but the in area shinobi had been alerted at least. These weren't her students, she didn't know their capabilities, but one could always wonder.

The secretary adjusted her glasses and held out two slips of paper for the duo. "Here are your train tickets. You can ride from the base of the mountain to the city. I'm sure you already know to use the back car as shinobi, Kikei. Behave yourselves. If there are no further questions, you should leave now or you'll miss your transportation.

Tatsuo made his way over to the village gates where he was instructed to be, much earlier than he'd like to be. He ran a hand through his hair letting out a yawn as he got prepared for the upcoming mission. He opted for a dark blue long sleeves shirt with a red swirl on the upper right arm. He was wearing pants of a matching color that went down to his ankles and a pair of black shinobi sandals. He had a small container wrapped on his left leg for a kunai, but otherwise had no easy containers on him. As he stepped outside of the inn he was staying at, he immediately turned back inside before heading back to his room. Taking a large dark gray scarf, he tossed it around his neck and covering the lower parts of his face. He really wasn't growing used to the cold in Kumo, despite everyone saying he'd get used to it. He'd never been in a place in so cold, he swore if he'd sneeze he'd have icicles coming from his nose. Luckily the rising sun was providing warmth and comfort to an otherwise cold and unforgiving climate.

He had made it first to the village gates, he wasn't usually this tact but honestly he was pretty annoyed with this whole village. Life was much better in the Leaf, that was for sure. The people seemed to be nicer, even his fellow Leaf Village companions had made an effort of making him the butt of most of their jokes. Either way, at least he'd have a mission to get his mind off things, it'd been a while since he'd been on an official mission, the last one was with Akira which resulted in some interesting shenanigans, he wondered if he'd be able to have as much fun all by himself as he did with Akira that one time. Shrugging his shoulders he waited until he noticed a familiar figure in the form of Kikei the same girl who was part of their escort party. Tatsuo's mouth immediately curled into a frown as he noticed her coming by, however hidden by the scarf covering most of the lower side of his face. When she took a stand next to him, he didn't say anything but quickly realized that he wouldn't be on this mission alone as she seemed aptly prepared for a mission and it was unlikely they gave all missions out by the village gates. He nodded to acknowledge her presence but after their introduction he wasn't really ecstatic about getting to know her better.

Luckily Megumi was not far off, she quickly began to explain the ins and outs of the missions. In which Tatsuo offered no inquiries, he was annoyed he couldn't just do this mission by himself, except now he'd be stuck with Kikei for the rest of the day at best. And even better, it'd seem she was in charge too. Letting out an inaudible sigh he waited for Megumi to finish explaining before taking his ticket. "Thank you, ma'am." before stuffing the ticket into his pocket and placing his hands in his pockets, awaiting to see if Kikei had any questions.

The sun was rising and once again this girl’s morning would be ruined by the arrival of a letter disclosing her next mission. It was becoming sort of a routine as of late and she realized she may as get used to it and become and early raiser. With a cracking of her limbs and a good long stretch the girl raised up from her bed and looked towards her father who was surprised to see that she was not going to whine about her mission this time.

“So my daughter is finally taking this seriously?” He asked her with a laugh as he handed her the letter and began to head for the door.

“I take them all seriously thank you very much.” She snapped at him as she began to pull her clothes from her dresser. She skimmed the pages as quickly as she could using her sharingan to speed up her reading and picked out an outfit she thought was most fitting for such an endeavor. She picked out a long sleeve white shirt, with a black vest over it along with a purple tie and a pair of black slacks that she could move around comfortably in. She always felt her best when she wore something nice, and a normal ninja gi was nowhere near fancy enough for her taste. Giving it a good one two stretch before she finally put her outfit on she smiled and slowly took her time.

Stepping out of her house fully clothed and well equipped with a handbook on location scouting and a few maps of the area that were up to date thanks to her father and mother’s intelligence connections with the anbu. She was all set and ready to go, life was about to get a whole lot more interesting as this was to be her first mission in which she was to be in charge and she was beyond excited for it. She even skipped out on her medication for the day she ran out the door so fast after her dad handed off the book and maps to her. Almost bounding off with limitless energy the young girl made her way towards the dragontooth pass, to be able to make it to her meeting at 08:00hrs.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Arriving with a smile that quickly turned to a look that screamed oh great it’s him, when she noticed the young leaf shinobi headed her way. She knew she was to lead someone but she hadn’t noticed that someone was to be him. ‘Oh great, it’s Hoshi version two….hopefully he doesn’t have a habit of getting into trouble like Hoshi does.’ She thought to herself as she arrived a bit ahead of schedule, it seemed she had ditched her habit of being late or maybe it was her excitement to lead a mission that drove her to arrive early for once.

“Okay so if we are to be spotted I assume our course of action would be to escape to the safe house? Or should we send out an S.o.S. over the appropriate frequencies? I just want to make sure that in case things do go south we aren’t going to be putting the village in any sort of predicament and forcing a rescue mission.” Kikei stated with a matter of fact sort of attitude and she crossed her arms and looked the mission master dead in the eyes as was her usual tactic when attempting to look tough.

“Ugh wait never mind my questions it shouldn’t come down to that if we do our part correctly.” She stated before the man could say another word and took her ticket from him. ‘Okay got to come off as confident, and if push comes to shove I can always attempt to bolster my standing with him in less conventional ways. As long as he knows my word is critical to our success, everything should go fine.’ She thought as she gripped her ticket in hand and turned towards her new comrade in arms.

“Let’s get going shall we, don’t want to miss the train.” She laughed trying to show that this mission was going to be a walk in the part for them and mask her uneasy feelings that were bubbling up inside her. She made sure to keep a pace that the young leaf shinobi could follow at as she dashed for the train station so as not to miss it. This would be her first trip on a locomotive and she was quite excited even if she was going to be in the back car and unable to take part in the more frivolous commodities that it had to offer.

Tatsuo listened as Kikei began to question what they would do if compromised and he sighed, hopefully she wouldn't be like this the whole trip. As she finally decided that they would just not fail as their backup plan he shrugged his shoulders and followed her into the train. He handed his ticket to the operator who then let the duo in. Tatsuo made his way to their seat, it wasn't the best spot on the train but he at least had a window seat. He'd enjoy the landscape much more if he wasn't worried about freezing every moment and luckily for him this train had central heating. He removed his scarf placing it on his lap as he bent over taking a bag of peanuts from the table and plopping a few into his mouth. He hadn't paid much attention to Kikei before looking over to see what she was doing. She hadn't bothered him too much so far, if he was lucky maybe she wouldn't be so bossy.

Interjecting: this happened, because it's important but feel no need to backtrack-

"The first, but if trouble gets the best of you then the later," Megumi answered, cringing internally at the thought of them calling for help in an escapable situation and letting their opponent know they were shinobi. Well, that was the trouble with cutting the young ones loose, wasn't it? They had to be allowed to make and solve problems to learn.

Oh yes, and she had nearly forgotten. "One last thing, she said, pulling a small, official pass for Tatsuo from her pocket, " you'll want some form of proof you're allowed to be operating in our country," she stated, handing it off. "Goodluck. Be safe. Raiden guide you."

---

The train they took was not the flashiest Kumogakure had to offer, but it was heated and glided smoothly compared to alternative travel like horses. Plus, it was heated, and during 'spring' in the land of lightning that was a very good thing indeed.

It was immediately apparent that the back car was reserved exclusively for Kumogakure Shinobi. While most kept their heads down, the imprints of kunai in pockets, and draw to dark clothing and the odd sentient pet gave them away to the trained eye. This was why the trains of lightning had assigned seating in all places. Shinobi needed space to meditate or prepare for the missions beforehand and dealing with the throngs of civilians who used the locomotives to get between towns and provinces often misunderstood the oddities of the men and women who went bump in the night. The segregation was not strictly enforced, however after a handful of incidences all shinobi with pets or carrying unconcealed weapons were delegated to the back.

It wasn't all bad though. As furthest from the front, they avoided the smell, dust and steam the engine produced. Their coach, while identical outside to the rest, was by far more luxurious than all but the first class or royal carriages with enough comfortable row seating for two dozen shinobi. The entirety of the coach was decorated in an intricate but practical woodwork that seemed fit to be in the Raikage's office, let alone a train, but close inspection would show a multitude of seals woven in to protect the facade from damage. There was a tiny kitchen on board with a kettle of boiling water and a small sink so they could have tea or instant noodles if they wished on top of the obligatory died goods like peanuts set out. Their cabin was comfortable, but a sneak peak into a pair of compartments tucked at the front marked 'reserved', showed that with rank came luxury and space to sleep.

Unsurprisingly at this hour they were not the only ones aboard, but the half dozen shinobi of varied ranks had the surly, half-lidded look of people unwilling to chat so early in the morning.

Kikei smiled ear to ear as they walked inside of the train, her hand followed the woodwork of ever passed seat trying her best not to touch the passenger currently in it. She quickly plopped down on the opposite side of Tatsuo and before he could object plopped down a map of the area in which they were to be scouting at.

“Okay so I got this map from my dad of the docks, this right here is E-12 noted by the fact it literally says it on the map. Now salt ends is just a name given to a specific area that to what I suspect is due to high amounts of salt being stored in the warehouses there.” She laughed as she began to draw upon the map to show where they would be approaching from.

“So will come in from this angle, mind you I’m not quite sure what you are capable of but I specialize in genjutsu almost entirely, okay entirely focused on genjutsu arts.“ She grinned from ear to ear as she traced along the map a possible route they could take that hopefully wouldn’t be patrolled heavily. Then again she didn’t quite know what to expect from a weapon smuggling operation. Most of her knowledge on the subject was rather small since she spent a lot of her time in remedial lessons trying to catch up to the rest of the academy in terms of knowledge.

“Any questions on what we are going to be doing?” She asked Tatsuo with a genuine smile on her face as she looked him in the eyes, her charcoal grey eyes shined in the light of the car as she did. She had honestly finished explaining most if not the entire plan that she had made at this point due to the honest lack of intelligence. This made sense seeing as they were to be sent in as a preliminary force to check if the rumors were even true.

“Oh and this right here is where we will be reporting once we gather what information we can.” She said as she made a huge X over the safe house that they were to run to in case of emergencies or once done with the mission at hand. Hopefully the later of the two options would be the reason behind the reason they go there.

This of course took almost no real time to explain so the rest of the time she told Tatsuo that he should do his best to memorize as much of the map as possible in case they were separated while doing the recon. While he did that she was going to read over her handbook on location scouting so she would be more prepared upon arrival which shouldn’t be to long.

Tatsuo watched as Kikei seemed so happy to be participating in this mission, it'd seem like she had thought every possible scenario out. He wondered if she ever was on a mission like this before, the last one he was on, everyone was a lot less.. prepared. She seemed to worry a lot about this mission, in which he didn't really care. He figured out by now that there probably wasn't anything too serious going on here, or else they would've sent stronger ninjas. They only sent him to get him out of Umashi's hair and to not disturb the meeting.

As Kikei explained her plan Tatsuo followed lazily, giving her little attention as he munched on his peanuts. When she said she had no idea what he was capable of, he shrugged his shoulders raising his hands alongside it too. "Not much." he offered before continuing to eat his peanuts. He felt really uncomfortable by all this, this whole trip had put him out of his environment. He wasn't used to everyone giving him such a hard time, he wasn't used to the cold, it'd seem like the whole world was different here in Kumogakarue. But he began to feel bad, while Kikei kind of did embarrass him earlier, she probably didn't mean it and it was more of Sara's fault if anything. It was unfair to continue being so silent and disrespectful. From then on he showed more obvious attention to her plan despite thinking she was going a bit overboard in all this. He then smiled widely, rubbing the back of his neck. "Do you want some peanuts?" he said offering some across the table they were sitting at as she told him to look over the map. He really wasn't interested in studying it any longer it was pretty straight forward, but he didn't want to come off as any more disrespectful because at least she was trying to act nice. He could do the same.

“Huh, oh no thank you I’m not a huge fan of peanuts, maybe in peanut butter but not just by themselves. Thank you though.” She said kindly as she looked towards the tray and then back towards him. ‘I was wondering if he was even listening for the most part but I guess he might be one of those quick learner types and already memorized the layout of the map from first glance. I just hope this goes without any problems and I can get the credit for it as well as recognition as a possible candidate for leadership.’ She thought to herself as she looked out the window and watched the scenery drift by before going back to reading her book so as to be as prepared as possible.

“Just be ready, this is my first mission as a leader and I really want to make a good impression. You only get one chance to lead and if you fail than chances are your grunt for life.” She said with a slight hint of worry on her voice, her attention still planted on her book.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Time flew by quite quickly as the two reached their destination and quickly Kikei made a dash for the door without any sort of hesitation. It seemed she was getting more and more energetic as timed passed almost even manic as the last hour of the trip the girl kept giggling to herself while she read the book as if it was some sort of comedy. She waited for a brief moment for the young boy to escape from the confends of the train before she began to hop and skip through the crowd of people with a smile on her face. She was heading straight for the docks to the marked location on her map and was hopefully going to reach there before nightfall but if not that wouldn’t be a problem for her.

Tatsuo retracted his hand taking the rest of the peanuts into his mouth. He quickly finished off the snack before tossing it into the nearby trashcan. As she continued her long monologue he wondered if this is what he sounded like to others. He was told he talked too much all the time, but he didn't really find it so annoying she was right peanut butter was better than peanuts. As she finished, he nodded. "Don't worry 'bout me captain, just keep your eyes open." he said attempting to offer some type of comfort to her paranoia.

Tatsuo kept her pace quite steadily as she basically ran out of the train like a bat out of hell. He sprinted to right behind her, going to place a hand on her shoulder and pull her back forcibly. He would then lean up, whispering "Might not want to run, it's a bit suspicious to having two shinobi running in a crowded street in broad daylight." he said motioning to the plethora of citizens and potential shady figures eyeing the duo diligently. He took his headband off his forehead, placing it into his pocket before urging her to do the same. "Now what way were we going?" he said looking to her for further instruction.

Kikei blinked for a second then realized she must have had her headband visible, this was something quite odd for the young girl because she rarely wore it as it was. He was right though it was be best to pretend to just be two kids running about being weird then to be to ninjas running rampant through civilians. Placing it in her vest inner pocket and smiled as she began to drag him along in a hurry.

“I get that we shouldn’t be drawing attention to ourselves but we would look even more weird if we were to behaved we are kids still after all a brother and sister pair even.” She laughed as she turned towards him with a grin on her face. She had already come up with an entire story line if they were to be confronted by anyone.

“Okay so the spot should be up here. Just a little further and will get to the place.” She said quietly as the drew closer to the mission starting point that she had marked on the map only then did she realize the boy hadn’t taken time to memorize the map like she had instructed and stopped dead in her tracks.

“Wait you did study right? Please tell me you looked it over and at least memorized our path.” She said to him as she placed both hands on her hips and glared at him with blood red sharingan trying to use them to intimidate the poor lad.

“Sigh too late now we already here at the destination but please don’t lose me.” She sighed as she closed her eyes and turned to look ahead of them her eyes scanning the area for anything that they should be worried about.

Tatsuo followed Kikei as she dragged him through the thick crowd, she was right as well. It'd probably be weird to see two kids their age just walking around as well. When she brought up the idea of being siblings he nodded and said "Ya sure, Sis." he then continued to follow her until the warehouse was in sight. As she began to remind him of the mission he nodded. "Yeah, yeah, I know and yes.. I did study." However he went from trying to be nice to a quick frown when her sharingan appeared. It wasn't the first he had seen as there were quite a few Uchihas in the Leaf. He had thought at first Kikei was just nervous, but he began to feel like she was just mean. Sighing he went along with his part of the mission. He rolled his eyes as he wondered why he was doing this, he could've been in the meeting, he would've been quiet even, but he was here.

He quickly ducked into a dark alley way, trash cans littered the sides of the dark buildings, using one of the lower ones to propel himself up he began to climb up the tall building to get a better vantage point of their target. When he finally climbed his way to the roof, he ducked low pulling up his scarf to cover his mouth again. He quickly scanned the area looking for anything that would be out of the ordinary or anything coinciding with their mission.

They would find the docks easily enough, having been designed for the waves of foreigners that arrived daily with array of cargo and passenger ships that arrived daily in Lightning's largest city. A metal sign hanging above the street way between two close set buildings announced their arrival to salt end, a mid to lower income area built mostly in the countries blend of japanese and greek architecture with scrap sheet metal roofs and stone base. The people that moved about here were a colourful blend of casual and ship uniform, with the occasional business man peppered between. No one really looked twice at a couple of kids around here, not with an immediately apparent smal army of children near their age racing between the adults on a wide range of errands and jobs. Salt end had plenty of work for anyone willing.

In fact, as they passed a couple of desperate looking women eyeing up the sailors with 'come hither' eyes, it was easy to know why this mission had been chosen for a pair of young genin. They could move through the adults as if almost invisible now that they had taken measures to make their true profession unknown.

The same could not be said of the children however, and as they passed an alleyway two small sets of arms snaked out and tried to pull the duo into the alleyway. They could fight, risking drawing attention, or allow themselves to be hoisted into a pair of rough looking kids who hissed, "Newbies, You have to pay the fee to work here!"

Kikei squeaked in shock as she was pulled into the alleyway, turning to see the direction in which the voices were coming from her sharingan reflexively turned off as to hide itself. After take a second to gain her bearing she patted down her shirt and vest and looked the group up and down trying to discern who the leader might be in the crowd. She hoped her partner wouldn’t lash out and would remain calm in the situation.

“Woah hey please take it easy, we didn’t know we are new to the area.”She said with a laugh as she tried to take up a non-threatening stance as she addressed the pack of children.

“What kind of fee are we talking about? Cause me and my brother need to be able to work if we are to eat today.” She said as she rubbed her stomach, hoping her outfit didn’t make it seem like they came from some rich family and this was all just some sort of game to them.

“I just we heard rumors that work came easy for children here so that’s why we came to see if this was true or not.” She stated as she wiped her eye wiping away a fake tear that she had begun to cry to help drive the sob story home for the children.

Tatsuo grunted as he fell down the alley way as one of the boys had dragged him down, luckily they had not seen him climb all the way to the top or they would've been instantly aware he was a ninja by the speed and agility he would've climbed the building with. He fell flat on his ass surveying the pair of boys. As Kikei began to talk, he began to frown. He had dealt with these types a lot back in the Leaf, as he spent way too many times getting into scuffles with the other local boys in his town. Her attempts at a sob story didn't really work, they didn't care about their sorrows they had plenty of their own to deal with. Tatsuo was in his element, he always a bit more street smart than he was book smart. If he was back in the Leaf, and not on a mission, he'd have probably have just swung at the biggest guys nose and try and make a run for it. However this was different, for whatever reason this mission seemed really important to Kikei and he wasn't about to have her raving about how he ruined it for her. Plus Kaji wasn't too happy with him as is. Reaching into his pocket he pulled out a few crumpled up bills, reaching his hand out. "Here, we're good now, ya'?" he said looking the nearest boy in the eyes. Tatsuo however kept a sharp eye on them, any sudden movements and he was ready to defend himself and Kikei despite the girl's ability to dodge and react was much more potent than his own. "Here, just take it, my sister is just hungry she's not really thinking straight. Ya' know how girls can be sometimes." he said turning to Kikei sticking his tongue out at her playfully.

Six rough looking kids no older than fourteen, including the two who had pulled Kikei and Tatsu into the alley. Two of the largest held rough bats with a couple crooked nails hanging from the end. Another had a chain he held at the ready, and the fourth kept his hand buried in his pocket at the ready. The last, the apparent leader, stood in the middle f the group smacking a well used bookend against the palm of his hand. The group stared them down as they waited for their demands to be met.

Tatsuo was right. The more Kikei spoke the more the group looked annoyed. They had heard it all by now and we'ren't about to give up a payment to some sympathy. The boss kid's eyebrows furrowed angrily and he shoved the end of the broken into the girls shoulder, "And I need to pay the boss and eat too. Don't be stupid, girl, don't you know anything?" He was ready to make the call to have them 'escorted' back out of salt end, when Tatsuo pulled the cash out.

The boss kid signalled for one of the bat kids to grab the cash, "Now you're alright," he agreed, showing the money into his pocket once it was delivered, "Sister though, man? Thats a horrible story. If shes your girlfriend just say so but you don't even sound alike." He rubbed his nose, staring at the two oddly, then added, "You got work? I'll point you to a job for an extra fee."

Kikei just stared flabbergasted she could not even comprehend what the boy just stated. Of course her story of them being brother and sister didn’t make sense hell what she should have done is have the boy transform into her brother and it would have been more plausible. Yet she did not and thus the situation turned into this an accusation of them being a couple. ‘I…..I what part of this does it make it look like we are a couple!’ She screamed inside her head as she turned towards her leaf companion, looking him up and down she could not for the life of her figure out why they would think such a thing.

“No, no we aren’t a couple we just call each other brother and sister cause are parents used to hang out a lot before they passed on so we stuck together ever since then. So with that out of the way cough how much would it be to get some information on that job?” She asked as she reached into her pocket and pulled out a small change purse hoping it wouldn’t be a substantial amount as she reached for a bill and removed it from the purse.

“IS this probably enough or do we need to give you a cut from the jobs pay?” She questioned as she looked at the leader of the group dead in the eyes wanting so badly to just use her genjutsu to put him under her spell but knew it would only cause trouble at this point due to their numbers.

While Tatsuo didn't really care for the couple comment either he didn't seem to take it as personal as Kikei did, they were on a mission and a bunch of boys teasing him for hanging out with a girl wasn't really going to phase him. He was annoyed already and just wanted to go home as soon as possible. Maybe Kaji could teach him something new today, he looked over to Kikei frowning for someone in charge of leading this mission she really was getting caught off track. As he noticed her offering to pay for extra work Tatsuo would bring his hand up, over Kikei's. "We've got work. We're not really looking for anymore right now. Thanks for the offer though, i'll probably come back tomorrow and check it out though, but right now we have a job to get done and we're on a time limit. Thanks for company guys." he said offering a cheery smile before forcing Kikei's hand down all the way. He'd go to grab her hand and pull her down the street closer to the warehouse in question. As he stopped, he would place his hands behind the back of his head, letting out a sigh. "C'mon let's just get this mission done with, neither of us like each other very much. No point in dragging this out. Also? Why would you even ask for their work, we're literally doing a mission right now." he said letting out a long drawn out sigh. "For a leader you don't use your head very much ya' know." Tatsuo would then look back to see if the gaggle of boys decided to chase them.

As she was dragged off by her leaf comrade she tried her best to stop. ‘This moron! Doesn’t he know it be easier to snoop around if we have cover, plus we literally just told them we were looking for work! He is creating holes in the reason for us being here! What if they start to ask questions and start to follow us we can’t just use our shinobi skills if we are supposed to be undercover here!’ She thought as she yanked her hand free finally and looked the boy dead in the eyes her sharingan active out of pure anger and cunning idea.

“Don’t go yanking me like that! Especially when you have no idea why I asked for the job in the first place! Did you even stop to think that maybe we could use the extra cash, or they could give us a decent lead on a good paying job?!” She yelled at the boy as she growled in anger obviously she wasn’t just yelling for the sake of anger but also to forcefully cause a scene. ‘Please be smart, please be smart and realize that this is just an act.’ She hoped inside her head as she looked the boy dead in the eye and attempted to plant the suggestion that the job could be used to find out information on their mission, and it gives them a valid excuse to be in the area.

“Now you wait right here while I go pay what little money we have to get us this job, you know damn well we need it. I hate how your pride can blind you to some of the simplest of options. I get you didn’t like being shacked down and that their job might fall below your sense of justice but I’m hungry and any job is a good job. Also I use my head far more than you do it seems.” She bellowed out as she turned on her heal and stormed off towards the direction the of the alley the boys had been in her sharingan no longer active anymore as she looked at the possible crowd that might have gathered from the scene. ‘Ugh okay I planted the suggestion I hope it sticks and he realizes the improvised plan.’ She thought as she clenched her fist trying to sell her anger even further.

The suggestion was placed into Tatsuo's head, despite this he didn't really find it a great idea. They were ALREADY here, all they had to do, was perch up somewhere on some damn roof top and just watch and look for anything suspicious. This girl really made everything difficult. He was beginning to really miss home, it seemed everyone in the Lightning country was just, well dumb. It even made his fellow leaf companions turn against him, it must be something in the weather he thought. He watched her as she walked down in the street, back to where the boys were. Honestly he didn't like getting yelled at, his face was red and he was tearing up a bit. He bit his tongue to prevent himself from crying. His face contouring into a twisted shape and continued to watch her walk down the street. He glanced around him at the small crowd that had gathered around their scene, all eyes on him. It felt honestly like the whole world was looking at him, and while he wasn't a shy guy by any means he just felt like he wanted to disappear. He hated this damn country, he hated this damn mission, he hated that damn girl. He just wanted to go home.

He had to decide whether to walk away now and just head back to the Leaf, or stay and see this mission through. He kind of remembered the path, plus its not like he couldn't ask for directions. He had just spent the last of his Yen on getting those guys off their backs, but I mean he had a few skills he could earn more right? Thoughts continued to race down his mind a mile a minute as he continued to watch Kikei walk down the road. The crowd that had surrounded them during their little act had dispersed as quickly as it had appeared which gave Tatsuo an ounce of comfort, if he were to cry no one would notice, hell if he cried, who would care anyways he was a thousand miles away from anyone who really cared. Tatsuo stuck his hand in his pocket as he turned away, planning to head back to the Leaf. He'd probably have to leave Port Cirrus today, since he was sure someone would chase him if he were to leave. Kaji maybe? Umashi? Nah not him he was too busy, perhaps Sara would even come chasing her 'student'. Or they could send Cloud Anbu, that probably isn't anything he'd want to deal with. Even though they probably couldn't catch him before he could reach the Fire Country, plus he wouldn't ever have to see that girl again.

Tatsuo decided, he'd head back home, where the weather was warm, the people were nice and the grass was green. He'd probably get in trouble, perhaps stripped of his Genin status, hell maybe stripped of being a ninja all together. Failing an S rank mission of such importance probably wouldn't go over too well with his superiors, but who cares they were just a bunch of old stuffy men anyways. His dad probably wouldn't care, his mother would be elated he wasn't doing such dangerous work. Honestly, it seemed like a good idea maybe being a ninja just wasn't for him. He wasn't any good at it anyways, his academy scores would prove that. He put his other hand in his pocket and took the first step in the new direction of his life, but then he stopped. The cold sting of the headband in his pocket reminded him of his duty as a Shinobi. He was a Leaf Shinobi and look at him, about to cry because some girl was a little mean to him. "Man, i'm a loser." he would say before letting out a heavy sigh and sprinting back towards Kikei. "Alright, alright! I get to choose where we spend it though!" he said playing along with her poverty spiel.

The six watched on silently as the two young shinobi seemed unable to decide if they did or did not want their 'advice' on a job. They exchanged looks, clearly confused as to how these two could call each other siblings, related or not. From an outsiders point of view, they seemed ready to tear each other's eyes out. They definitely weren't dating either, in whatever capacity pre-teens played at relationships, and the third option- seemed all the less likely as Kikei raised her voice at Tatsuo and backtracked to supply them with another payment.

Not one to say no, the boss kid snatched Kikei's money and looked at her like she was the biggest idiot on this side of the city. Neither of them had asked a price, they'd just handed over money like it was meaningless. Neither of them acted like a downtrodden kid down on his luck. Hell, they couldn't even get their story straight. "Free advice. You know what I think? I think you're not lookin' for work because you both just gave me more than most kiddies make in a week. Unless you have some real good work already lined up, or you're looking to indenture yourself, you're a massive idiot." He pocketed the money anyways, not at all guilty to have fleeced them of their yen.

"There are ships coming in on two through to six if a puny girl like you can even lift. Stay away from ten to fifteen, they don't like kids and seventeen likes kids too much if you know what I mean. You're scrawny but those sorts don't care." The other boys nodded along. They were ignoring Tatsuo completely, probably one of the more respectful things a bunch of boys could do for a younger kid about to cry because a girl yelled at him. They only bullied for money, after all, and upset kids made less to fleece."And leave the docks this way, or someone else will take your earnings."

The kids didn't move to leave, this was their base of operation, and the boss made a shooing motion, "Run along, brat, we're done here."
