Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Sometimes ANBU are called upon to perform missions in their old guise, and this was one such time. Shimete, the Genin, was asked to track down a Mednin who had not returned from Monumentum Deo. She entered the hospital while merged with her canine companion, she she was embarrassed of the form she'd grown into upon hitting puberty. Most of the workers didn't bat an eyelash at the canine-esque lady. Working at a shinobi hospital, one sees far worse things than dog ears and a tail. However, a few of the citizens gawked a bit, mesmerized by the white canine woman.

She was directed to a receptionist who gave her a friendly smile. "Ah, a doggy lady? You must be Nigiri-san. You've been asked to find our poor Mednin. We asked you because...well...we can't give you a good visual on him. He has two...very unique appearances. Not to mention there are multiple caves on the mountain. Because of that, you'll need to track him by scent. You Inuzuka types have impressive honkers, right?" The woman leaned down and produced a slip of paper. She handed it to Shimete. "This has his scent. Use it to track him down please." If Shimete gave it a whiff, she'd find it smelled fruity. In fact, if her knowledge of fruit was great enough, she could even deduce that it was cucumber melon specifically.

So, Shimete would have a bit of time to prepare. There was no pressing need for her to rush, however she could if she desired. It would be a good idea to make sure she had any supplies she needed. She would eventually leave the village, her paperwork in hand. The gate guards were a bit curious why her passport picture looked a bit off, but an ANBU passed her through. He knew the actual situation the young woman was in and identified her by the tattoo she bore somewhere upon her body.

And off to the mountains she went, and she arrived with general ease. There was a reason this was only a D-rank mission. She was able to avoid the animals, which was nice since killing said animals probably wasn't something she wanted to do. However, now came the difficulty of her task. Just as the receptionist had said, there were multiple caves in the area. Would she track by scent? Or would she use a different method?
Mission Start!
-Due to the nature of this mission, this will be how things will proceed.
  • *After certain rounds, I may ask you to pm me with your actions. Be as specific or non-detailed as you wish. (though the less detail, the more is left to my interpretation.) You can put it into actual rp-posting format, or simply give me a sentence or two with what you wish to do.
*I will then pm you back with details. Perhaps you met an NPC, or a random event occurred that you need to react to, maybe you saw something specific. (you may even get a response back saying nothing happened) DO NOT POST BEFORE PMING ME OR BEFORE RECEIVING A RESPONSE!
*I will edit my last post with a general idea of what you did in a quote at the bottom. If something big happened, I will make a note under your actions. If a specific task could succeed or fail (or semi-succeed), I will note it after your actions as well. (as well as in your pm)

-For your first situation, I would like to know how you will attempt to choose a cave. Please pm me your actions.
(If you have any questions, any at all, please do not be afraid to ask me!)

Shimete was so embarrassed walking around as a normal shinobi that her face turned a redish tint to the people’s gawking. She wasn’t sure if it was her canine appearance, her maid outfit or the combination of the two. She must get new clothes sometime if she ever wants to take a mission like this again. The only reason she was doing this is her purse was all but empty and there was no Anbu related mission available for her position. After a while Shimete decide to break out into a run to the hospital. The sooner she could change back into her uniform the better. One in the hospital she quickly walks up to the receptionist where upon she gave Shimete the details of the mission. “Please madam, I’m a wolf not a dog.” Shimete also found people’s lack of ability to tell the difference annoying. “I do have an enhance sense of smell yes.” Shimete takes the paper and gives it a good sniff. She then kneels down and has Izumi do the same. Shimete pockets the paper before asking the receptionist a few questions. “What do you mean by two unique appearances? How does he change from one for to the other?” Shimete would guess that it was a bloodline technique like Yamanaka’s name of the rose. Either that or a curse seal. “Also what is the person’s name?”

After Shimete get her askes form the receptionist useful or not she heads out. Before heading towards the gates she makes a quick stop by the Sileo Tempestas. Once inside her personal quarters within the complex, she begins to strip. She takes off her shoes, sock, dress and under garments; she was completely in the nude. Izumi stood outside the door makes sure no one tried to sneak a peek while Shimete was changing. Shimete wraps herself in bandage starting with her feet and working her up to her breast. She then wrap her arms, chest, neck and finally head; she looked like a mummy. As a final touch she puts on her anbu cloak and fox mask. Once dress she heads towards the gates.

Shimete would ask if the anbu saw the mednin she is looking for and if so, she would then ask if he created a snapshot of the mednin. One of the nice things about such duties is that it can be shared. It also has the person’s chakra signature, which would be quite handy considering she can see chakra naturally. After the short conversation with the gate guard she heads towards the Monumentum Deo.

The receptionist instantly snarled when Shimete pointed out that she was indeed a wolf and not a dog. It was an impressive sneer, one that might rival a shinobi with Demonic Ancestry. She grumbled under her breath. "A domesticated wolf...is a dog." Focusing again on Shimete, the receptionist listened to the questions. However, Shimete had already pissed the woman off, and she decided she wasn't going to be helpful. In fact, she much rather felt like giving the girl a hard time. "The same as any person can look completely different if you slap them into something else. You wouldn't recognize me if I was put in a bear costume, right? Oh my, you might...if you used that nose of yours. Like you're supposed to. Which is why you were requested to do this mission." The woman placed her hands on her cheeks. "It's almost like the people at the mission bureau know what they're doing." She rolled her eyes at the canine girl, before at least answering one of her questions. "His name is Yakkai Sainou. Not much good that name is going to do you since he's in the mountains. Last I checked, there were only wild animals there, and they aren't the kind to ask people for their names." The woman flicked her hands at Shimete. "Now step away from my desk perimeter, I need to get back to doing my job." It was amazing how quickly the snooty woman became sweet and jovial as the next person approached the desk.

Shimete completed her preparations and headed for the gates. A large, seven-foot-three man stood there, his arms crossed and his face stern as he watched for everyone's paperwork. It was surprisingly busy right as Shimete approached. Though he wasn't in his ANBU attire, Shimete would know him from the Sileo. It was hard NOT to notice Roshia. Shimete approached the man and asked him questions. He opened his arms and spoke, his voice heavy with a foreign accent. "AAAAH! Puny dog girl. You be in need of Roshia's mighty knowledge? I not be flabbergasted. Come." He sat in a chair and patted his knee. "You sit on Roshia's knee and he tell you what you need to know." It was unsurprising that Shimete did not take a spot on his lap. He stood again and shook his head. "Kids these days, not be respecting their elders. You must take lesson from beau-ti-ful daughters. They train you right." The man gave a hardy laugh. "WAHAHAHA! AAAAAH! Is joke puny dog girl. I sure you be having many men who be wanting your devotion." He leaned in, which didn't change that he still towered over her, and whispered. "I be hearing rumors of men who be liking these...how you say? Fairies." He straightened and stroked his chin. "Ah, no. Fairies be wrong word. But it begins with F, Roshia is sure."

Shaking his head to indicate he was done thinking on it, Roshia crossed his arms again. "Oh, but Roshia digresses. What be it you wanting? Ah, if I see Mednin by name of Sainou? Hmmmmm." He closed his eyes and furrowed his brows as he slipped deep into thought. His sudden interjection would probably catch Shimete by surprise. "AH! You be referring to puny blonde man. Yes, Roshia remembers this man passing. Mmm...not four day ago? His papers were saying he be heading to Monumentum Deo. A strong location, fit for bear wrestling. I be hoping the puny man left to train. He is but a twig. But everybody be twig compared to almighty Roshia." The man gave another guffaw . "WAHAHAHA! Is not joke puny dog girl. Is truth. Now. You be asking for snapshot? I not have snapshot of puny Mednin. Why would Roshia snapshot a puny man leaving when he be having paperwork? It make no sense puny dog girl." The man's eyes flicked past her, and he gave a shout. "HEY! PUNY MERCHANT MAN! YOU GIVE PAPERWORK!" The merchant man, who had been attempting to enter without his passport, tried to make a break for it. "Why they always run?" Roshia's arm ballooned, becoming larger than his own body. He snatched the merchant and slammed him to the ground. The ANBU's arm deflated as he drew close to the sneaky merchant. "I not repeat self. Paperwork, puny merchant." This signaled to Shimete that she would get nothing more from this man.

Reaching the mountains, the only info she was able to acquire was that she was looking for a blonde man named Yakkai Sainou that had two forms. However, for all she knew he just liked to transform a lot. Perhaps he wasn't even blonde anymore. Regardless, Shimete surveyed the area. As the receptionist had mentioned, there were multiple caves. However, the girl had a feeling that she would find the man she sought in one of the base caverns. According to her intel, that still left six caves just in her general vicinity. She gave a howl, attempting to summon wolves to aid her. Six wolves appeared. Two looked utterly ecstatic to be there, the rest seemed to care little for the situation. She held out the paper, and they gave it a sniff. Every single one of them bolted off into the same direction. Together, they found a crack in the side of the mountain. It would have been near impossible to detect with one's eyes. The wolves appeared to be conversing with each other, giving huffs as if they were insulted that Shimete had to call them to do this. The scent was so easy to find after all.

It would go without saying that Shimete would enter the cavern, and the wolves sat watching. They wanted nothing to do with that cave for some reason, and because of that, they ran off as soon as Shimete entered. The cave itself was nothing special, just rock walls. Hopefully she had a way of lighting the area, because it was obvious that it was going to be pitch black once she left the shred of light filtering in from the opening. The smell of cucumber melon was strong. So strong, in fact, that she would not be able to track using her nose anymore. She would need a new plan.
Please pm me what you want to do next.

Most found Roshia due to his strong looking body, but Shimete is use to that considering she was the handmaiden to a couple of samurai a few years back. She found Roshia quite endearing; the comment of her having many men wanting for her devotion made her blush. Luckily the mask hide he redness of her face. She was always very shy of her body which is why she covers it in bandage. Perhaps Roshia is right; there may be those that would actually find her attractive. To come out and reveal her body on a regular bases would be quite a big step.

Once at the location Shimete could see many caves and was starting to get the feeling that this hunt was going to take quite a while. But as they say, many hands makes lite work. Shimete was an adopted child of Moro, a wolf demon. Moro does not only bless her children with the ability to see chakra and human intelligence, but dominance over the basic wolf. Shimete does a howl of the pack to summon a pack of six wolves that roam this mountain. The wolves of the area were quite helpful and found the cave much quicker than what Shimete would have expected.

The wolves she summoned seemed uneager to head into the cave, which she took as a bad sign. Likely that meant there was going to be danger lurking in this cave. Roshia said the man left four days ago. With this sort of foreboding she was not expecting to find the man alive. As Shimete enters the cave she could tell that it was quite dark, though viable enough for her to traverse relatively safely. You see Moro is not the goddess of the hunt for nothing and there is a reason she blesses her adopted children with her eyes. Moro has the ability to sense chakra and so does her children. However the process is slow. Her children do not instantly see chakra, but evolves into it. At this moment Shimete is in the first stage where she sees a faint glow around a person like an aura. The glow is to dim for tracking purposes but is enough to give a hint what is real and what is not. Also the light maybe dim, but even a dim light could give of a warning of a person in stealth. The second stage of the eyes power allows her to see the aura more clearly. The aura is brighter and actually illuminates the area around there person, unlike the dim glow of the previous stage. Though she sees the chakra dispersing outside the body clearly at this stage; she cannot however look within a person. The light allows her to follow a person better for it is never as dark as it really is to her. She and the person she is following are like burning torches shining their light into the darkness. With these two light sources it would be harder to hide from her.

As Shimete was about to venture further into the cave, a call caught her ears. "Nigiri-saaaaaaan." "Nigiri-san?" Two voices rang out together, neither threatening, so the young woman exited the cave to see what was the matter. Two boys, probably in their late teens, were looking around the mountain range. Their light red hair, bordering on pink, was hard to miss.

Upon seeing the cloaked figure of Shimete, they approached in a jog. The hyper one spoke, lifting his arms excitedly in the air. "Nigiri-san! Greetings!" The calm one continued. "At least we hope you are Nigiri-san?" They looked to see the canine with her and gave a nod. "Well, you have a dog, so we'll take that as a yes." They gave apologetic smiles. "I'm afraid you've been sent on a wild goose chase. See, that mednin you were supposed to find came back to the village within a few hours of your departure. Apparently he got lost in a cave, and it led him up and down and all around. He must have come out after you passed, which is why you missed him. We were asked to get you." The excitable one hopped in place. "We were heading on a mission anyway, so it was no biggie. Anyways, we'll be going now. Have a nice day!" Upon finishing his words, the overjoyed youth dashed away. The calm one gave Shimete a bow before walking after his twin.

A sound caught her ear from behind, like a wolf's growl. However, when she turned to look, there was nothing there. Perhaps she may return her again, for one reason or another. She made note of the location before heading back to the village. She neither failed, nor passed her mission, which meant her record wouldn't change. Maybe it was for the best.

[Mission Canceled]
Nigiri Shimete said:
No shimete's retired. let's just call off the mission.
Mission canceled, as desired.
