Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Current Ninpocho Time:

Delving the dark Class {Closed} 6/6 slots open

Noroi looked at the boy and his two teammates. The boy with red hair seemed to be confident, and the other boy seemed to be nervous. All of them looked worried yet excited about the upcoming mission. To go into madness, maybe even literally. To go and find an artifact, this seemed important. Would anyone die on this trip? Noroi hoped not, seeing on how he knew the majority of the class. He started to have a small nervous sweat, thinking of all the possible outcomes for the mission. He imagined himself on the ground, barely hanging on to life. He shook that thought from his head.

" hey Noroi, you'll be fine" Kagari said openly to him.

Noroi looked at him and smiled. A small part of him felt relaxed, but slightly envious. He wished he could be as confident and relaxed as Kagari right now. But for now, Noroi simply smiled and said:

"Th-thank you k-kagari, g-good luck to y-you too"

Noroi was then beginning to think about the mission some more and preparing, when Azusa suddenly said to him

"See ya, don't die nor-" she stopped mid sentence and started over " *ahem* please take care, Noroi kun"
Noroi looked a bit confused. Was it the princess that was in her had Azusa taking the formal tone. Wondering, he smiled nervously and said:

"Th-thank you A-Azusa, g-good luck to y-you"

He then turned back to his teammates. Both were scribbling on their papers, and Noroi felt like he was the weakest one here. The red haired boy, Kenji?, seemed to be confident and relaxed about this whole ordeal going on. He looked like he did it a thousand times before. The other boy, hato?, seemed polite, and not as confident, but still more confident then Noroi. Noroi smiled and said to them:
"H-hello, I-I'm Noroi. I-I lol f-forward to w-working w-with you"

Now the only ones that confused him were the two men outside. Were they teammates themselves? They seemed like polar opposites and seemed to bicker a lot. But they knew sai-sensei somehow. Curious, Noroi silently watched their argument.

Once the ringing of the necks of the two late students and they were seated. Sai Sensei, wrote on the board.
“okay so, let me go into further detail here regarding the artifact; this artifact is made of solid gold. It has a long chain connected to it with a pole attached to it now this chain is at least a few Fathoms long as it’s used in many rituals out at sea and in our case here in Suna the gold icon can be dropped a few fathoms down into a very dark hole. They use this to call very powerful demons into this world. The reason I am going after this item is to stop said cultist from being able to summon some very old and very powerful demons from the abyss itself back into this world.” “This will be a team mission, now Team 1, will be Azsua, Shana , Kagari,/ Team 2 will be Noroi ,Akuma , Hato.”

As Shana was reading the board yawning and bored of all the leg work. She was ready to get down there and explore the unknown, and all the neat and creepy things that they may come into contact with. Shana stood up "Sensei Do you have a map on where exactly this artifact is hidden? have you ever seen this before? there is a chance we go down there and someone else has already taken it away. I understand there is cult trying to take it as well, what about if we run into them down there. Were just students in training and don't have many fighting skills at this moment in time." She sat back down and for a moment she felt relief and smirked a bit. Knowing this is exactly what the Sensei didn't need while trying to banter everything out.

Shana Noticed she was together with Azusa, and seeing how she was all full of giggles and wonders, happy about at least knowing me on the team. Her all she could hear was a muffle sounds coming from outside the window, the next thing she knew was sensei was out there speaking to two men whom looked crappy as if the one was a half blob and the other reminded her of young Frankenstein, now that is the one of the things about Shana those do not know she will reference things by things she learned or seen, Kind of interesting sometimes. Sensei addressed them to us a few moments later. Shana thought to herself they are experts, They are coming with us, she was beginning to become more nervous at this hole trip to the mountain of madness.

Are you ready Azusa? than this boy spoke up in the middle of her speaking with Azusa."I'm Kagari." Kagari then smiled at both of them. "Yes its very nice to meet you too Im Shana!" The group was all set and sitting next to one another. As the other group formed, she looked at the one she was placed in, she thought Azusa is a priestess Kagari she didn’t know much about him or where he came from. She was trying to build a trust line. "You know you guys while we have the time we should sit and get to know one another, this is the one way we will make it through and keep ourselves together and strong when or if someone wants to give up.! We need to always be one step ahead if we plan, and make sure we have all we need before we get down there than we have more chances to perhaps find the lost gold."

She sat back in her desk drank the last of her tea and await for more instructions from the Sai Sensei, she was ready to hit the roads and begin this trail of mission, this is where she just wanted to jump and go and figure it out as the time went on, this is how she did it all her life. But this time was different she wasn't alone and she had to watch out for the others within her group.

OOC: sorry if my post was late by a few i had to work at 4am this morning

OC: Sorry for the delay, had to review your class plan and read everyone's post a few times over to understand the plan. If too hammy, I will pull it back a notch.

Danforth

Children this is Danforth and Kenji both of these men are experts in there fields of study and have also invested a lot of time and money into the study of this spirit world. They will both be coming with us. Them being here although I asked them to meet us there means all the preparation’s are met and they are awaiting all of us to head out.

There was much work to do, they had far to go. The winding path would tax even his most able mind, further he would be taxed with this albatross of a class. He let out an audible sigh as he shifted his glasses up the bridge of his nose. This relic would prove to be world-changing in ways none of these cretins could possibly understand. "We must be going," Danforth announced, he pulled a pencil from his breast pocket that had been shortened to a nub with teeth marks pocking the yellow paint. It had something red on it, perhaps it was blood... perhaps it was raspberry jelly. He stuck the pen in his mouth as he pulled a small steno notebook from a larger, deeper pocket near his waist. Let us just call it jelly for now and hope.

"Hmm..." Danforth stated thoughtfully as he transcribed the picture Saieko displayed as a record of his own. "The esoteric eye, quite a fascinating artifact if I do say... Getting my... our hands on this will be quite remarkable!"</B><i></i> He let out a slight chuckle, "...but a class, with such young, pure sac- students. Students!" He proclaimed as he clapped his book shut as slid it back into the confines of his coat. "Amagi-san has already disclosed the risks I presume?" His lips curled upward in a mad fashion as he gave a moment for perhaps dramatic pause or perhaps to see what the students had to say.

<B>"The cull of this... artifact is dire... treacherous! Your sanity melts away as your mind is not only exposed to your worst fears but your body is subjected to pains and torment you never imagined. But this is all in the minds eye,"<i></i> he pointed at his own to reinforce this fact. "Or so they say."<i></i> He looked at the room full of gingers, and the occasional melanin-sufficient with their near black or green tresses. "I'll take a red-head, red is my favorite color!"<i></i>

“Excuse me, but is that any way to address your sensei? Akuma was snapped out of his daze and looked in the direction of the origin of the voice. When Akuma turned his head his eyes landed on a blue haired woman that looked with a look of disapproval written all over her face. “A proper apology is in order for your tardiness, don't you agree?” She said in a tone that left no room for debate.

Now he had two choices he could give a sarcastic reply and probably get himself into more trouble. Or he could do what the Turano asked of him and give his Sensei a “proper apology” After weighing the pros and cons and where the effects might lead him. Before he could even his open his lips to respond. The classroom door opened and a student and an office Staff member arrived.

“Ah, please excuse Mr. Tanaka’s tardiness, he was tied up in the registration office.” The staff member said before he left. “At least I’m not the only one late” Akuma mused as he watched the new kid scurry to an empty desk. Turano turned to Hato and chastised him for being late as well.

“Okay lets get this over with,” Akuma thought as he began to stand up and apologize for his actions. But before any words could exit his mouth Saieko. “Okay so first off, your new to this class, I would like you both to introduce yourself to the class, and then on a piece of paper tell us what your deepest darkest fears are, or what scares you the most since, where this class is going to go these things will be used against you and can cost you your life.”
You can then hand that piece of paper to the Princess Turano who just spoke to you.” If you cannot follow directions then you will be left behind and trying to figure out how to get out of a special little time out that I have devised for troublemakers.” In short we are going to take a trip to the spirit Realm and look for a artifact.”

Akuma nodded and pulled out a piece of line paper and a pencil and began to write his assignment. This was hard for Akuma. He knew he had fears every one feared something. Even the strongest entities in the world feared something. He just didn't know what fear he had that he should right on the paper. He didn’t want to sound like a wimpy and write down a fear that would downplay people’s opinion on him. Nor did he want to make himself sound like a fearless idiot, because if he said he did not fear anything he would be lying. After what seemed like hours of thinking Akuma finally decided what fear he was going to write.

Saieko then turned back to the board “okay so, let me go into further detail here regarding the artifact; this artifact is made of solid gold.

“Sekia , will be taking Team 2 and keeping a eye on them since headsets are absolutely useless in the spirit world. I will be heading up Team 1. Do you all understand?” Now our only objective is to get the Artifact out of these ruins deep”

Akuma looked up from his paper and came saw his new teammate Noroi smiling at him and Hato "H-hello, I-I'm Noroi. I-I lol f-forward to w-working w-with you“Akuma extended his hand for Noroi to shake and offered his new teammate a slight smile“ Nice to meet you Noroi my name is Akuma and also look forward to working with you and.” He said “Well I got to and hand my paper in and apologize to Sai sensei. It was nice meeting you”

Akuma got up and from his desk and handed his assignment to Turano and offered her a smile.
The only thing I fear is being forgotten in the maze of time.

He then leisurely walked to the front of the classroom and bowed to Sensei. “I apologize for the rudeness I displayed early. I promise you, I won’t be late to your class ever for as long as I live.” Akuma then turned to the rest of the class with a small, but confident smile “ I am Keiji Akuma and it is nice to meet you all. ”He said with his hands in his pocket.

Hato caught some of the end of the explanation of a woman of some kind of authority. There were so many people about her and protecting her it was almost comical. Who was she being protected from? Academy Students? If she their teacher she probably could take on infinite amounts of kindergarteners in a fight, let alone a classroom full of academy students. She made the decision to call out Akuma and Hato. Hato felt frustration at her calling him out in front of the class. Hato placed his hand against the table was on his way to rise. He caught the image of his teacher, probably trying to show off with that card trick. Was that a threat? So. They were both bullies too. Hato stood from his seat and gave a bow.
”My name is Tanaka, Hato. My apologies for my tardiness. Yoroshiku O-negai shimasu.”As he returned to his seat, the words of his grandfather ran through his head again. If you don’t want to be bullied, then become a shinobi and kick their ass. But, were shinobi bullies too? The only way to beat a bully is to be an even bigger bully. The teacher then took her turn to speak. She announced how she wanted them to introduce themselves to the class, and then write their biggest fears on a sheet of paper. With paper and pencil in hand he considered the thing that scared him the most. Was it bullies? The death of family and loved ones? Abandonment by friends? Did any of those scare him anymore than the others? Was there a fear that stood at the mount of all of his fears? He tapped his lips pensively as he considered the idea. Maybe he was just lying to himself? Did he not want to admit to the thing that scared him the most? As he stared at the blank sheet of paper he didn’t know what to write. Might as well right them all.

I have a lot of fears.
Getting beat up by Bullies, Losing a loved one, having no friends, getting stuck in a chair in the middle of class because of how fat I am, being seen modeling dresses for my mom, falling off from really high places.

While pencil floated above the page, Hato listened to the instructions for the rest of the class. Everyone was assigned with teams. Well, thanks to the introduction it seemed that one of Hato’s team mates was able to find him out of the handful of students present. "H-hello, I-I'm Noroi. I-I lol f-forward to w-working w-with you" Noroi introduced himself. ”Yeah, nice to meet you Noroi, I hope you take care of me.” Hato gave a curt nod. The other boy, Akuma was it? He shook hands with Noroi by way of introduction, and then said something about turning in his paper. Right. His paper. Hato tapped his pencil against the page. As he gazed down upon, he decided that there was one more fear he needed to add.

...I’m afraid of sharing this list.

Hato placed his hands on his desk again and forced his heavy body to rise. With paper in hand and anything but sang-froid, Hato approached the woman in charge of his team, the one to whom he was tasked with giving this page to. With his page handed over, and his apology already publicly stated, his obligations to this woman had been met for the time being. He returned over to Noroi as the two men came in and started speaking and arguing with each other and everyone that seemed to take with them. Hato leaned over to Noroi, and spoke to him in a low voice - knowing that he didn’t want any of the teachers to overhear him.”Why does everyone try to sound insane or cool in this place? Isn’t anyone normal? I don’t feel like I’ve met a shinobi to date that wasn’t like that.”

  • Apologizes
  • Talks to Noroi
  • Hato turns in his paper
  • Returns to Noroi and takes a seat.

Sai, watched carefully as her guests interacted with the class, Kenji went and was trying to show his enthusiasm towards working with team two, she guessed could never really tell with him what the hell he was doing every time he opened his mouth it was like bile just vomited words out of it at random intervals. The Next was Danforth he was as per usual his snobby bookworm self, in a mad scientist way (oddly enough he looked a lot like Herbert West and even sounded like him). Sai watched the kids either getting freaked out or carrying on with their business. Now the two newcomers were rather normal to say to speak, Akuma did as he was asked he walked up over to Sai and Apologized in a rather sympathetic manner and then turned around and introduced himself to the class. He seemed rather like a normal kid. He also folded his piece of paper, and handed it to Seika. The next was the heavier set boy he was a bit more apprehensive. His apology was a bit more forced then Akuma’s but she couldn’t fault the boy he was just being honest.

Saieko watched all the kids forming up into their two teams, she waited for them to get acquainted with each other, Some of them were probably meeting for the first time and others knew each other , from prior meetings. Regardless she thought it best to give them a few more moments to talk and get there strategies put together. After a few moments she spoke up gathering them all together. “Okay everyone lets start to make our way to the alter.” She walked out the Hole in the wall into the court yard motioning to the entire class and there retainers to follow.

They made their way out into the court yard and into and walked along the corridor, it wrapped around the entire courtyard, it was a hallway with no ceiling just a brick walkway that leaded off to other hallways where the other class rooms were in session. The simulated sun felt nice and warming as they continued there trek towards the alter room. Saieko took a hard left down one of the many hallways. After a time of passing many empty class rooms at the far end of the hallway they went out a door into the outside, now this outside was extremely different to the outside they just went through in the courtyard. It seemed like the simulated light was forgotten here.

fancy-a-walk-in-the-forest.jpg

Some say it was from all the Tall trees that were as old as village itself others say it is because the shrine was cursed long ago, some say the Simulated sun of the cave was never able to reach this place, Sai didn’t know the reason but neither speculated nor did she even want to take a guess this shrine was here thousands of years before she was. The path that her and the class and the two retainers were on was a upward slop surrounded by very old trees leading into the heart of the Shrine. The walk way was hand carved stone steps that ascended upward; these stones were attested to the time when they were created. regardless there were a few small pot holes in the pathway leading up to the shrine if one were to walk carefully they should have no problems reaching the top, even if the walk was on a very steep incline. There were 100 steps that lead the way there upon reaching the threshold of the Shrine you would see Two huge gates towering over you. Just behind the gate was a old dilapidated Shrine house that had seen better years since there was no one to take care of the grounds here the shrine had been run down for years. Saieko went right through the gate up the shrine house and stood by the right hand side of the door with it open, motioning to everyone to go ahead in.

latest

Inside the shrine the alter was a smaller replica of the shrine house with a miniature version of the gate they just passed under on the outside. On either side of the alter were two mirrors with spidering cracks upon them. Okay class welcome to the Narukami Shrine. “This shrine is about as old as the village itself, our school was built at the foot of this shrine a very long time ago. As you can see this place has been long forgotten and hasn’t been in much use as it used to be so watch your step in here as the floor is a bit rickety, Now I need team 2 to line up in front of the left mirror and team one please take the right you all need to be facing the mirrors as you will be looking upon your spirit selves or so the ritual says.” “Now Danforth and Kenji please join your respected teams since you are going to be our guides once we cross over, Kenji please go with team two and Danforth please join team one.” Once I start this ritual team one and team two will be separated from one another and placed on opposite sides of the ruin’s maze.” “Remember our goal here is to grab the Esoteric eye, prior scouting reports placed this artifact at the center of the maze.” “Good luck to all as after I complete this ritual whatever team I end up with will be random or I might be thrown into a random place in the maze itself it is not a exact science on the location of where you end up after crossing.” Saieko , watched the class take their places in front of the mirror facing it. With that knelt down in the center of the alter room, facing the small replica of the shrine house. As she Knelt, She began to start her chant……

Her chanting started to reverberate along the walls of the shrine echoing across what seemed like a vast chasm but there was no chasm in site. If the teams where staring into the mirror they would see themselves as any normal reflection but upon Saieko’s chant starting they would start to see there reflections starting to distort and twist. The reflections would start to show signs of decomposing, after a time all of the reflections would start to scream in unison in terror, the mirrors exploded inward and a giant vacuum was left with a deep dark hole sucking in the entire class on both sides where the teams where Sai , was in a trance in the middle of the Shrine room unaltered by the Vacuum. Both teams would be sucked into the dark hole that was created. The fall was not a long fall in fact when both teams would hit the bottom of their fall it would feel like one just tripped and fell face first. Upon landing in the spirit real the first thing the teams would notice is the ground in which they landed had this wet white powdery stuff all over the ground and the air itself was freezing, you could see ones breath as you talked . The air itself had a small tune being played by a far off pipe it seemed like the wind itself was dancing to the tune of a pan pipe. The snow on the ground spun around with its dance partner the wind like a eternal waltz, in little partnerships.

Seika just nodded at the kids as she took up the rear guard, making sure that none of the kids got lost as they followed Sai to the alter. Each step giving Seika chills, raising goosebumps over her exposed skin. Bleak and dreary, the road to the alter looked like it had been forgotten by everything and everyone, including the 'sunlight' that touched everything else. Each step seemed to be harder and harder for her to take, as though something was telling her to turn back, that this place wasn't meant for her. Yet she carried on, even though less and less of her retainers remained with her. They were obviously experiencing the same feeling as she was getting. “Almost there, oh yes we are!”<i></i> She heard the kooky old man cackle as they could see the Shrine house from the last few steps, before he bounded up the last few steps and disappearing into the house.

After entering the house, Seika's senses was assailed with the feelings of darkness, dread and despair, this place wasn't right! Her confident steps slightly faltered until she felt a hand on her shoulder. “Milady, are you okay?”<i></i> She heard Edaru ask, and she just nodded. She was a being of light, she shouldn't show her hesitation in front of the children. “I shall be here, milady, I shall always be here.”<i></i> He was correct in that, for he had been her playmate as a child, he had been her sparring partner and, for a while the focus of her entire being. He had never let her down, and she doubted that he ever would.

Her attention was brought back to the present when Sai began to talk again, giving instructions to the two teams, with Seika's team taking the left mirror while her own was taking the right. Sadly they were given the blabbering fool that was still spouting random gibberish, something about the stars this time... the fool didn't realise that he couldn't see the stars from here at all. Why did they need him again? Something about a guide.

When Sai began chanting, Seika's goosebumps extended over her entire body, not just her arms and exposed skin. Seika could see the mirror that she was looking into distort and the images inside seemed... different somewhat. A primal fear within Seika clawed at her as the images seemed to slowly decay, flesh and muscle peeling away from bone, but that wasn't the worst part. No that was still to come, when she saw the images of her, the children and the madman all screaming as though in great agony, and with that the five images seemed to implode, leaving a hollow where they had once been. A hollow that needed to be filled. She vaguely heard Edaru screaming her name, but she was far too... gone to care. She had been ripped out of where she should have been, and was dumped into a world most different from what she had been in.

She pulled herself to her feet, her eyes scanning the area, before making sure that her charges were okay. Snow dusted the ground, and the air was cold enough that breathing in it you could see your breath. “Stay cl... close.” <i></i>Seika said as she tried to stop her teeth from chattering in the cold. She was an ice user, but the cold she was used to was of her own doing... this was certainly not hers. Yet even on the air something felt... off. She could hear a small tune being played, and immediately her mind went to one of her family's trainers, one who could befuddle the senses by using sounds. “Ki... kids, li... listen o... only to what my... myself and K... Kenji say.”<i></i> She said, cursing her body's reaction to the elements. “We won't kn... know what to ex... expect here.”<i></i> She looked to the old man, who seemed to be having no issue with the cold himself. “Wh... what do we do no... now?”<i></i>

The old man cackled in glee. “We go to the maze, yes we do! This way!”<i></i> He said pointing and running off in the direction he pointed in, giving Seika and the kids little time to react, making the charge after him, towards the entrance to the maze. He stopped at the entrance, turning his crazed gaze upon those that followed him.“The stars are right, yes they are!”<i></i> He pointed at the ninjas. “But right for whom?”<i></i> He cackled once more.

OC: So sorry for the delay, I was stuck with patients these past few days on a back-to-back series of shifts. I am off the next few weeks (thankfully)

Danforth

Danforth adjusted his ribbon bolo tie as he took the rear of this grouping, allowing Saieko to lead the way, past the classrooms and through the caverns. When the group came to a halt, so did Danforth.

“This shrine is about as old as the village itself, our school was built at the foot of this shrine a very long time ago. As you can see this place has been long forgotten and hasn’t been in much use as it used to be so watch your step in here as the floor is a bit rickety, Now I need team 2 to line up in front of the left mirror and team one please take the right you all need to be facing the mirrors as you will be looking upon your spirit selves or so the ritual says.” “Now Danforth and Kenji please join your respected teams since you are going to be our guides once we cross over, Kenji please go with team two and Danforth please join team one.” Once I start this ritual team one and team two will be separated from one another and placed on opposite sides of the ruin’s maze.” “Remember our goal here is to grab the Esoteric eye, prior scouting reports placed this artifact at the center of the maze.” “Good luck to all as after I complete this ritual whatever team I end up with will be random or I might be thrown into a random place in the maze itself it is not a exact science on the location of where you end up after crossing.”</B><i></i>

"The village of Sunagakure is barely thirty years old, actually this temple predates Sunagakure rather significantly,"<i></i> Danforth explained as he gestured towards the mirrors. Danforth slide to the front of the mirror as instructed, his hands making a 'hurry' motion waiting for his 'team' to congregate in front of their mirror. "Haste... Haste!" Danforth proclaimed. "I hope you all have durable souls," Danforth announced as Saieko started to chant. Danforth's image started to twist and bend but perhaps more so than that of the children, his tussled hair curled like horns and his skin appeared ruddy but only for a flash... a moment forgotten in time as the flesh began to break away in threads and in chunks. Leaving barely more than a toothy maw covered in fine linens screaming on the other side. The mirror burst inward, sucking Danforth and the children inside. Danforth cackled madly as he was pulled in. He skidded onto the fresh powder, a sheet of ice underfoot he slid, glided, perhaps moved really really fast in a fluid-motion.

"Ah brilliant, the spirit world is SNOWING!"<i></i> Danforth declared triumphantly as he turned abruptly on his heel using the ice to assist in a spinning motion as he spun about thrice his arms extended. He sucked in the frigid air through dilated nostrils, his arms conducting the flow. By the time he stopped and looked at his 'team' hopefully they were all standing upright. <B>"It is good to be home," he stated with a grin. He clapped his hands together, attempting to garner their attention or at least the attention of the less simple ones. "All right class, apparently we need to reach the center of the maze and that is not something that will come easy," Danforth warned. "We need to get moving before they notice us," he warned as he started to walk briskly forward in the direction he was facing.

There were great terrors that lurk even in the light. Nothing here was ever as it seemed. Something these youths would soon become aware.

Summary:
  • The mirror pulled everyone into the 'spirit world'
  • Danforth is very happy that it is snowing and is beckoning you all to follow. (simple right?)
  • This will prove to be an interesting T2 series mod the next few posts made by this NPC to follow.
  • For those that want, I can add you to the Skype Sand channel for the sake of being social with other sandies. If interested PM me.

"Opptimistic to find some cursed gold are we?" Kagari jokingly said to Shana. 'Finally, a normal healthy conversation. It's nice not talking to brick wall like last time...' Kagari thought to himself, reminding him of Kibishi's arrogance and overall unhelpfullness. He felt reasured as Shana seems to have the same train of thought as Kagari, "you don't go into the dark without more than a torch". "I guess I we do have a little bit of time to talk..." Kagari noticed that Sai, looked like she gave the class some space to talk; how kind of her. "I'm not bad upclose, I've been working on my taijutsu skills but, from the looks of it; I don't think Sensei is going to let us fight any of the big guys...I'm honestly better at communicating, and planning."

"So, I'll do my best to come up with a plan." Kagari said as pointed to his brain, and playfully winking.

As he kept conversing with Shana and Azuza, he noticed a man walked in; looking a bit out of place compared to the rest of the people in the room. ‘Now it’s getting crowded in this classroom.’ Kagari sighed a bit as he observed the man.
He looked a bit frail, disheveled, and obviously in a hurry. He seemed a bit odd, eccentric from the way he was dressed. He obviously wasn’t a shinobi, if he was he would most likely be a medic nin. Kagari couldn’t really make it out but, he could swear that this man had some blood stained on his collar. Nonetheless, his appearance was sudden and distracted Kagari from his conversation.

Getting my... our hands on this will be quite remarkable!" He let out a slight chuckle, "...but a class, with such young, pure sac- students.

"The cull of this... artifact is dire... treacherous! Your sanity melts away as your mind is not only exposed to your worst fears but your body is subjected to pains and torment you never imagined. But this is all in the minds eye," he pointed at his own to reinforce this fact."Or so they say." He looked at the room full of gingers, and the occasional melanin-sufficient with their near black or green tresses. "I'll take a red-head, red is my favorite color!"
<i>
</i>

Silence fell upon the room after the man's speech, Kagari sighed abit as he broke the silence with his next words. "Well, at least I know that I'm not the only one who noticed the red head population." Kagari said to himself.

'Wait wait wait; Noroi, Kibishi and I were fighting next to a haunted shrine the whole time?! That hole in the wall wasn't just for show?! What the hell is this doing next to the school?!' Kagari was alarmed at the close proximity of the classroom to the supposed "cave of madness". Although no caves were yet to be seen, the area was entirely unique. Unlike the rest of Sunagakure, the area surrounding the Shinobi complex was a complete urban sprawl. Buildings, advertisement boards, highrises; the occasional seemed to make most of Suna. But this place, this place was Green. Dark green, the kind of green you only see in forests or Grass. The atmosphere was tense, Kagari felt his blood curl with each step as he stepped closer to the large shrine like area. He was nervous, even though he was with a rather large group. Maybe it was the area that was offsetting, or the faint smell of alage and acient set off his sinuses. Whatever it was, Kagari didn't like staying here for too long. Kagari knew he was tredding on holy ground, and he knew to be careful about it. One wrong "anything" will get you haunted for life, or worse.

Kagari inhaled deeply, the mission was about to start. He pieced together that the dishelved man was Danforth, a name befitting his persona. Kagari looked at his teamates; Shana and Azuza. He was trying to get read on them, whether they were confident or scared; or both. Whatever they were feeling, Kagari looked them both one at a time straight in the eye and nodded. 'We'll be fine...right?" Kagari Mentally asked himself, trying to mentally steel himself for whatever's about to come. Also he was trying to ignore Danforths comments, they were starting to get a little bit...unerving.

<COLOR color="#004000">Her chanting started to reverberate along the walls of the shrine echoing across what seemed like a vast chasm but there was no chasm in site.
<i>
</i>

Kagari covered his ears, the high shriek that the mirrors were giving off were starting to hurt. 'Did Sensei summon banshees or something?!' Kagari said to himself, as he noticed the air started to get colder. As soon as he uncovered his ears when the noise stopped, he felt a bit dazed. "whats....whats going on...?" Kagari felt his head was spinning and something grabbed him. He then felt like he fell over forward, but the ground he was feeling wasn't ancient rock, but something entirely different. When he regained his senses, and stood up, he noticed that they weren't in the shrine anymore. Most likely, they weren't even in Sunagakure. The ground he felt was soft snow, the kind of stuff he heard about that falls from the sky in the northern regions; he only dreamed to see it. "Not the way I would want to see snow but I guess this works..." Kagari said outloud as he picked up a clomp of snow and played with it in his hands.

However, the wind chill cold finally set it and Kagari was shivering. Kagari was obvioiusly not prepared for a winter "operation", thankfull he had a hoodie with some fur lining inside, but that was mostly for show. The fact that he had some workout capris on didn't help, so Kagari was chilly from the spine up. "W-Well...I-in another moment down went...A-Alice after it, never once considering how in the world she was to get out again.” Kagari said outloud, to the rest of the people around him. They too looked like they were freezing.

<B><COLOR color="#400000">"Ah brilliant, the spirit world is SNOWING!" Danforth declared triumphantly as he turned abruptly on his heel using the ice to assist in a spinning motion as he spun about thrice his arms extended. He sucked in the frigid air through dilated nostrils, his arms conducting the flow. By the time he stopped and looked at his 'team' hopefully they were all standing upright. "It is good to be home," he stated with a grin.
<i>
</i>

"Well great! Not only are we going to be frozen to death, yetis from the spirit world are going to enjoy a few adults for dinner, and have a couple of pre-teens for desert. I hope they enjoy crazy and stupid!"

Normally, Azusa was all for exploration and all kinds of adventures. Secret areas in forgotten parts of the village? She'd be the first to dive in!

...Except in cases where it involved trespassing into a forgotten shrine and sitting about for some strange ritual involving contact with a spirit world.

"..." Nevermind the dim lighting for the moment (see, for someone growing up in an underground society, Azusa was a pretty big fan of well-lit areas), but once the path started taking them to a very much unkempt ritualistic shrine grounds? "....." Nope, Nopenopenopenope. Nope. You do not explore unannounced into a shrine. You do not do so for an abandoned, forgotten one much less; shrines were built and maintained out of respect, and barging in with a class was just asking for trouble. At least burn some incense beforehand. Give an offering. Wipe a grave. Something!

"..........." ...Any color that returned to her face during the excitement of the walk was now fading away. "I'm gonna be cursed. Years of misfortune. Or turn into a hunchback. My kids will be demons. My hair will be tangled." Against every instinct in her body, Azusa followed the others into the shrine, her head hanging low in defeat, and only offering a quick muttering of words; "...I'm sorry."

Azusa silently took her place, purposely delaying any eye contact with the mirror until well-after she took a deep breath, attempting to calm the jittery nerves within her that made her small frame tremble within her jacket. But once she did, once Saieko started her chant, well...suffice to say she regretted it, and would certainly not be able to forget it of her own free will any time soon. Or ever. Azusa wasn't sure whether the mirror was showing the truth or some nightmarish illusion; it had certainly seemed all too real to her at the time, and the orange haired student most certainly did scream fright just as the mirror had shown. Her body had even registered the strange new sensation she felt as pain before her mind caught up and realied that she was actually cold from the new icy surroundings.

"...Wh-what the...My face...is still here?" She spoke, swallowing hard while verifying that her face still, indeed, had skin; she was thankful. She was also thankful that she had taken the time to use the bathroom before class, because otherwise it would have been absolutely tragic. Good good, so far so good. She then stood up from the strange white ground she had found herself on, and a brief survey confirmed it all around her and the others. Everywhere. "So 'snow' is like a strange icy sand...I've read about it before..." In a more normal situation, Azusa may had enjoyed running through it, but for now...well, at least Danforth seemed to enjoy playing in it; his confidence also made it seem apparent that they were where they were supposed to be. Wherever that was however...

"*Sneeze* Th-that wasn't too bad a-at all. R-right Sh-Shana? Kagari?" Azusa spoke while adjusting her jacket in the cold, seizing the moment to position herself between her peers. "If the spirit world wasn't s-so cold...it'd be pretty nice." Minus the eerie sound of the wind and the equally-ominous maze that they were about to venture into.

[Marked for Training]

Noroi walked along the path with the rest of the group to the old shrine, thinking about hato's question. Why were people acting crazy in tougher then they really are. Are they afraid of being themselves? Would they view it as being weak? Noroi just said to hato quietly

"I-i guess th-they're j-just afraid o-of being th-themselves..."

When the group got to the shrine, Sai-sensei told them about the history, but Noroi was looking at the two men that were arguing just earlier. His group was paired up with the old man. He seemed to be taking to himself, and whenever he did talk it was in mutterings. Noroi continued to observe bis surroundings in wonder. He had never been to a place this old before.

When they got to the mirrors, they were directed to stand by the left mirror, which he did. Then, sai started to chant. Noroi saw his reflection change right in front of him, twisting and distorting. For some reason, Noroi didn't feel scared. He just watched with wide open eyes. Then his mirror self started to decompose, letting out one final scream of terror. The mirror drew him and his team in to them and Noroi braced for the worst. Noroi's first reactions the spirit world was cold, the ground was made of some cold, white things. Like an inverted desert. Noroi looked over at his teammates, helping his possible friend hato up. Seika-san was just as cold as he was, but the old man seemed to be really energetic, running off towards somewhere. Noroi got up silently and followed him, his bare feet almost never touching the cold white ground below him.

Teaming up with Azusa and Kagari, Shana looked and watched as Kenji and Danforth interacted with her other peers, she thought to herself that they are just strange, and are they really who they are!, that bow tie she thought needs to go it's horrible. Shana sat back and wondered about this adventure the intensity the excitement of the unknown, she knew we were looking for a treasure but what else would they face or find, it was all just a big mystery she was looking forward too.

Snapping out of her daze she heard Sensei Sai speak up, she listened to the instructions, were headed out into the alter she looked at all the old bricks were chipped crack the hallways were all over leading to different rooms the halls were long and wide was one after another. We finally reached the outdoors, after that tremendous walk felt like walking into a thousand rooms that lead know-where, dark gloomy and smelt old and forgotten hardly no light the old trees with fungus, and not bloomed. This wasn't your normal outdoor patio, this was something you would see in a movie. The pathway was broken stone discolored. Looking ahead there was a long path and she could see stairs looked like millions from where she was, old slanted towers were on either side of them. Huffing as we climbed the stairs, Shana stopped and took a deep breath. "AH" seemed like the stairs are a never end, she finally reached the top going through the gates to see a old house, was covered by garbage trees broken stuff everywhere. How people could allow something that was so wonderful build back many something years ago put to waste.

Shana walked past as everyone wondered into the open door passing their Sensei.. Standing in the middle of the house, there were mirrors dirt everywhere and a alter, was old and looked like it was never taken care of, cobwebs all over it, candle holders, with very old candles. Shana could see the beauty in this place, such shame they allowed to let it go this way. Sensei Sai, spoke up telling us where we needed to be looking at Azusa and Kagari as we all shifted over to the right side facing the mirror, seeing her spirit or self reflected, the tightness began in her chest. Staring at this mirror was she scared or excitement she really was not sure yet, as she did was breath and listen, "great she thought the weird looking dorky guy with the bow tie is with us, she chuckled within herself.

As Sensei Sai began her chant Shana, listened, she blinked and her eyes closed for a moment the next thing she saw was snow and ice. Shana "gasped" and freezing looking around she could see the others. Touching her arms making sure she wasn’t dreaming or dead. Looking over blessing azusa as she sneezed "No it wasn't that bad Azusa, Kagari are you ok?". the sounds of the wind were decreasingly worry-some, but we had made it, the snow on the ground was like diamonds was bright in your face, she couldn’t help but to stare, she tried to stick her arms inside her jacket to be warm, but the nasty cold was biting through her jacket it was like she had nothing on. She looked around and didnt see Sensei Sai anywhere did she get put else where, "Anyone see Sensei Sai?"

Akuma hummed as he followed the group to the ancient shrine. His face adorned a thoughtful look as he thought about traveling to the sprit realm and all of the new creatures he would meet. He made his way into the courtyard walked along the corridor, it wrapped around the entire courtyard, and the courtyard looked like a hallway that the builders forgot to put a ceiling on. It was just brick walkway that split off to other hallways where the other classrooms that were in session. After numerous sharp twist and turns the group finally made it out outside the maze of corridors. When they came outside Akuma saw a lot of very tall trees that looked as if they where around when the dinosaurs where around.
The path that her and the class and the two retainers were on was an upward slop surrounded by very old trees leading into the heart of the Shrine. The walk way was a hand carved stone step that ascended upward; these stones were attested to the time when they were created. Akuma looked up and saw there where a 100 steps that lead to the Shrine and two huge gates that towered over the group causing Akuma to feel like a ant. Small and weak.
Just behind the gate was a old dilapidated Shrine house that had seen better years since there was no one to take care of the grounds here the shrine had been run down for years. Akuma followed the through the gate and into the shrine house When they went inside Akuma saw a alter that looked like a mini version of the shrine house e. On either side of the alter were two mirrors with cracks that looked like spider webs on them.

“This shrine is about as old as the village itself, our school was built at the foot of this shrine a very long time ago. As you can see this place has been long forgotten and hasn’t been in much use as it used to be so watch your step in here as the floor is a bit rickety, Now I need team 2 to line up in front of the left mirror and team one please take the right you all need to be facing the mirrors as you will be looking upon your spirit selves or so the ritual says.” “Now Danforth and Kenji please join your respected teams since you are going to be our guides once we cross over, Kenji please go with team two and Danforth please join team one.” Once I start this ritual team one and team two will be separated from one another and placed on opposite sides of the ruin’s maze.” “Remember our goal here is to grab the Esoteric eye, prior scouting reports placed this artifact at the center of the maze.” “Good luck to all as after I complete this ritual whatever team I end up with will be random or I might be thrown into a random place in the maze itself it is not a exact science on the location of where you end up after crossing.” She then began to start her chant..

Seiko’s chant sent shivers down his spine. Never in his young life had heard anything like it before. Suddenly Akuma was ripped out of his world and was thrown into the sprit realm. Akuma’s first impression of the sprit realm was “dang this place is freezing”.
Akuma picked himself off the ground and began attempted to warm himself.
Akuma tried everything he could to try to . Running in place, creating friction, and even was about walk over to of his teammates and huddle with them to create some sort of body heat for himself. But quickly opted against that because that would be just weird.
Akuma pulled out a Kunai from his holster and shakily got into a defensive stance. Anything could happen in unknown territory and it would be best for him if he got prepared for anything. “I’m really beginning to hate this place. “

The Imperfect

Hato was last in line. Everyone had already stood and began to flow out of the hole that Hato had been led through at the beginning of the class. As his team mates followed suit, he figured that he probably should find the strength to get up from his seat. He rose and began to walk with his hands in his pockets. His eyes stared down at his feet as he walked along behind his teammates. As they walked, Hato fell in beside Noroi, whom gave his suggestion about the question Hato had asked earlier.
”Geez Noroi, could you say anything with more meaning?” Hato chuckled. He gave a light tap onto the other boy’s shoulder before his hands shot back into his pockets and his eyes back to the ground. As they traveled, the ground changed. It began with the tried and true tile of the school, and then to the grass and dirt outside, and now to old cobbled stones that had doubtless seen their years. It was getting dark here, but the dark didn’t both Hato. He was raised in a gloomy part of the village where the artificial light didn’t reach that well - probably on account of the poor people who lived there being considered not worth the effort. The path made way to a set of stairs. His eyes were still fixated on the travels of his own feet. He tried to avoid stepping on cracks or other seams in the steps’ construction as he followed behind everyone. He never noticed the atmosphere was becoming so eerie. As he reached one step in particular, he saw a weed growing inbetween the steps.

He paused for a moment to look at the plant. It was living. Life among hard stones and with hardly any light to provide nourishment. Where other plants struggled to survive here, this weed seemed to fight against all reality for its own life. What a tenacious plant. It wasn’t pretty. Its budding flower was an eyesore, and its prickly thorns threatened all who came near to it. Hato lowered his foot, from heel to toe upon the plant until the entirity was crushed under his weight. He sighed and began to skip steps in order to catch up with the group again. His eyes searched the area for the first time. It was already too late to turn around. They had walked into some old shrine. The ropes about the tries were frayed. The archway’s paint was fading, and the path was littered with weeds like the one from before that grew between any seams between the stones of the shrine. They followed their teacher from the grounds of the shrine into the building itself. Here Saieko-sensei began to explain the age of the shrine and that the floors were not as stable as they once were. AS if to prove her point, Hato’s first step into the shrine resulted in a wooden board snapping and his foot slipping into the hole he had created in the floor. This place was ancient. Hato winced as he stooped in order to better pull his own foot from the hole. He walked over to the mirror his team was supposed to line up with. She had talked about a maze, and also an Eye that they needed to recover. Hato had come a bit late, so he still didn’t really understand everything that was going on. He was more interested in the fact that there was going to be some kind of ritual.

Saieko began to chant. Her words seemed to deepen the creepiness of the atmosphere, but Hato couldn’t place what was wrong exactly. His hands were in his pockets once again, and he watched curiously as Saieko continued her ritual. He thought he heard a noise from one of his teammates. He chanced a glance over at them and caught sight briefly of himself in the mirror. Distorted into an immense glutton - the Hato in the mirror opened his mouth and swallowed him whole.

What the..? Hato’s heart was beating rather quickly, but he was still on his feet, and despite his eyes being open already, he felt as though they were slowly regaining sight. Oh, he wasn’t on his feet still, Noroi was actually helping him up. Had he lost conciousness? What happened just now? Everything was white here? He searched about quickly for his teammates, they were here already as well. Hato thought he felt a chilly wind blow through, but his fat kept him safe from the cold. Indeed, his team mates seemed in need of the warmth more than he. Noroi seemed to be fine. He was walking after the insane fellow as he ran off some odd direction, but their teacher seemed to be chilled absolutely to the bone. Hato pulled his Gi off of his own body. Beneath it, his white undershirt protected his modesty. He tossed the Gi to Seika-sensei whose teeth chattering were almost comically audible.
”Here. The cold doesn’t bother me that much, so you can wear my gi to give you some extra protection.” His gi would be an odd fit, doubtlessly, as he was wider than potentially any two people in the class standing side by side. Though - maybe three if they put the old man next to them - he seemed pretty thin to hato. Without the protection of his gi, his skin felt the bite of the wind that much more, however, it was mostly his arms that were now bare. Hato would be lying if he said that he wasn’t cold also, but as long as his hands were stuffed into this pockets it was bearable. The crazy fellow seemed to run off to the entrance of a maze, that Hato wasn’t sure if it had been there the whole time, or if it had just suddenly appeared. As Noroi had followed closely behind the old man, he too was at the entrance already. ”Old-man! Noroi! Wait Up!”
  • Hato follows his team to the spirit world
  • Hato gives his Gi to Seika-sensai
  • Hato follows after Noroi, with his hands in his pockets.

Saieko blinked and came out of her trance…. When she came too the chanting and haunting voice that resonated with the walls still lingered. Saieko looked around within the shrine, the entire classes’ Psyical forms were still here they all looked like mere manikins standing in front of the mirrors. One would say if they saw this that they were basically drooling zombies while each ones conscious mind was wisked away from their physical restraints. Saieko had literally completed the first ever mass trip into the spirit world. Her body screamed at her as she stood. Sweat had formed in small beads along her brow and arms. This was no easy task sending literally 8 people into the spirit realm it almost took all she had just to connect with each person’s subconscious mind. Slightly out of breath she walked over to each student one by one checking them out for signs that any of them, didn’t make the trip or they grew a third arm out of there forehead or something weird like that. She was no medical genius nor a amazing strategist, but what she was good at was the same thing her mother was amazing at that being having being blessed with amazing spiritual power. She actually really didn’t think this would work or something was going to go wrong hence why she stayed behind and didn’t go into the realm right away.

She cared for each one of her students like they were her own kids, some called her crazy, strict , some even went as far as telling her that the way she ran her class was how did they put it organized chaos. Those all might have been true but one thing that no one could say was that she didn’t care about her students, She literally would do everything in her power to protect each and every one of them. She actually hated the idea of putting them into such a dangerous place but the two professors that join them here today had insisted on it, against all her protests. She stayed behind not because she had to but because she cared. She chose to do this class her way and no one else’s way she knew she could keep them safe this way.

Sai, wiped her brow and knelt again this time she would be coming into the realm now that she made sure all the kids and Seika made it safe she was at peace now and more relaxed. She could devote more chakra to the ritual and hopefully get put in a safe place within this realm. She closed her eyes again this time there was no chanting and a blue hue raised off her like smoke from a dying fire. She rapidly ran through seals in the knelt position as she relaxed her mind a small prick of insight started to keep into her mind, a familiar voice followed by a hiss……and a raspy tone rang out……”Oh how ive missed theee little Tsuki coming back to be my plamate again sssssssss……… Saieko’s face contorted again as she seethed with anger at the intrusion into her most private of places her own mind…….”Vara” …….Saieko spat as she said the demons name….that she sealed away under her house. This was one of the ancient demons that roamed the lands of Suna way back before sai was even a twinkle in her mom’s eye…..this demon was older then Suna itself, she was around and met her untimely end around the time of the first men and was banished into the spirit realm. Sai’s mother had sealed the demon away in there house but when Sai’s mother passed it weakened the binding and Vara got her freedom in the spirit realm until Sia met her , on a mistaken journey into the realm. Now she was connecting with her in a dire time via mind link taunting her. Sai forced the demon out of her head and back to where she belonged as she concentrated upon the more important task at hand rather then beating a bag of sand like Vara and oh how she wanted to just torture the damn thing she staved her anger and used it to fuel the ritual. She exhaled the hot air out of her mouth as her breathing became more calm her breaths seemed to stop. The next thing she felt was cold air blasting on her the air she breathed was that of frozen air. It burned her lungs she opened her eyes and was immediately taken aback by the setting of this place even thoe she could hear the tune on the wind Saiekos white eyes glowed resisting the song and heard it for what it was a hellish scream and wailing across the horizon….. it would sound like a sweet melody to everyone else but to Saieko it was like a banshee’s wail. Her eyes didn’t do much for her like the other bloodlines dojinstu did but the one thing that was unique to her was the fact she could talk with the departed banish and bind them and even make sure they adhered to the rules of the living and dead. Small gen that was sent her way she saw through it… that was her bloodline. Looking around she wasn’t anywhere close to either team.

Her immediate surroundings were that of being stuck in a rock and a ice place, the only thing she was sure of she was in the maze already somewhere on the Left side based off the position of the walls of ice that shifted and moved like a sliding glass door. The walls in the maze moved on their own it was like the maze itself was living breathing organism Heaving with every breath and every couple seconds you would here the ice slide like a sled across the snow two or three rooms down, the Maze just got a little bit more challenging she sighed thinking to herself, when she scouted this place before it wasn’t like this. Sai gave a heavy sigh and started to make sense of the maze all she could do now was hope that Kagari realized that he was put with the two girls for a reason…..since he was probably the more mature of the group and had combat experience that he would look after those two new students. She also hoped that Noroi remembered to control his emotions enough to not scare seika and he would watch out for the other two boys like a older student would. She kept her ears open listening for voices in the maze as she darted in a room as the ice wall slammed into its new home putting her left and forward into the maze. The walls looked like giant 50ft see through mirrors, the wind picked up and became harsher the more you delved into the maze the closer to the center you got the colder it got and faster it got. Sai was already shivering at the cold and wasn’t really dressed for such a climate but she had some fur on her shoulder pad. At least that weathered the cold a bit, The thing that she hated about this place was not the cold but the way each breath felt like a cold fire in your lungs. The maze was going to be a problem, and that damn music on the wind …….these kids……I Hope they are okay…..Sai started to wonder ……. If Vara manipulated the ritual and put her in the maze on purpose.

Seika looked up at Hato in appreciation. He didn't have to give her his gi, but it had been highly appreciated. For some reason Yuuki, her angel, seemed to remain silent but part of her was glad that the angel's presence wasn't present. She could be a bit trying to her host. “Come along, kids.”She said as she looked at Kenji, who just sent her a lop-sided grin as he turned and darted into the maze. “Kenji! Wait!” Seika called as she reached towards the disappearing form of the man.

“It calls, it doesn't wait, won't wait!” She heard Kenji's voice call, followed by some cackling.

“We need to get through this maze with that idiot.” Seika said with a small shake of her head. “On top of that... we have no idea where the centre lies, nor where the others are. We have no choice but to follow him.”She motioned into the labyrinth. “Noroi, I want you to partner with Akuma. If we get separated I want you two to work together. Hato, you will be with me. Now let's go.” As the team entered the labyrinth, Seika looked back towards the entrance, and her eyes widened as she saw the entrance just... disappear. Just what was this place?

“Really, you expected this place to conform to the same rules as the real world?” Seika turned in time to see a woman as her exact replica, with the exception of wings on her back. “I guess you really are dumber than I expected you to be, but what else is to be expected from one raised by a demon.” Seika lunged towards the other figure, her hand wrapping around her neck, squeezing, but soon released her hold stumbling back. Seika gasped as she clutched at her neck, hearing the apparition laughing cruelly. “You just don't get it, this isn't your plane of existence. You should not have come here, you've placed yourself and your charges in danger.”The woman shook her head. “However I know you, and I will not stop you. I will not watch you die, but I shall not help you either.” With that the form flickered out of existence.

The form, invisible to all others, scared the woman slightly. She knew the voice that spoke to her, it was Yuuki. This would explain her absence, because they were not as one, but as two beings. Two souls in one body, freed by the fact they were no longer within the same flesh. “We need to move, and fast.” Seika said quietly. “Let us not remain here longer than we have to.” She started to follow the elderly man that seemed a little too spry, but it was the world of spirits, which could mean many a thing. She headed after Kenji, until she found herself in front of two paths, Kenji was running up both paths. At first she thought that they were mirrored and that they would just be heading up one, to test her theory she threw a pebble, but it wasn't reflected. So which was real? There was no option but to split up. “It looks like we have to split up. Don't do anything hasty.” She said as she looked at the children. “Hato and myself will take the left path, Akuma and Noroi will take the right path.”

Left Path:

As Seika and her student companion walked up the path, she could hear the walls closing behind them. She hoped that Noroi and Akuma would be fine. Yet... she was cautious heading up this path. Something felt off, wrong, even upsetting. What she didn't expect was for the floor to give way under her feet, sucking her down into some unknown hellish depths below.

She let out a terrified cry as she was bound into place, her left hand being bound by the quicksand floor. She was terrified if being sucked under. “Hato help me!”

Right Path:

As Noroi and Akuma walked along their path, everything seemed to be normal, until it seemed to Akuma that he was falling behind Noroi, and that he seemed to be gaining distance on him, equally Noroi had the same eerie sensation that Akuma was having, his eyes being certain that the other boy was now miles away from him. Until their partner was swallowed up by a dense fog.

Eventually the fog cleared, revealing a small park bathed in sunlight and warmth. There seemed to be no end to the beauty, but looking behind them the exit back the way they came was blocked off.

[Images coming soon]

Three beautiful girls ran up to Noroi, calling out gleefully to him. In a moment both Noroi and Akuma had names pop into their minds as though they had been there all along. Kotorashi Ai, Sotome Rena and Ayanokana Arisa. “We missed you! Don't leave us again!”The one named Ai called as she clung to Noroi's arm, before sticking her tongue out at the other girls.

”Ai, that's not fair! You should share him with us!” The others called out to Ai both looking absolutely furious.

Danforth

"...Wh-what the...My face...is still here?"

"Ha-ha!"</B><i></i> Danforth announced, a few dozen meters ahead of the students 'under his care.' "Yes, of course! The path to the eye is nothing more than trickery and lies to deter those weak in heart or mind. Then to possess it... the want must be substantiated."<i></i> His voice grew grim with each passing word, but at the very end he seemed to force a carefree smile as he beckoned the confused and freezing students to follow.

"W-Well...I-in another moment down went...A-Alice after it, never once considering how in the world she was to get out again.”

The other student making less sense. Perhaps he hit his head on the way down the rabbit hole. Was it some sort of reference he had only partially forgotten or was he having a stroke. "Not red-sac... STUDENT, don't dawdle or damage your noggin. Precious cargo and all that!"<i></i>

"So 'snow' is like a strange icy sand...I've read about it before..."

"*Sneeze* Th-that wasn't too bad a-at all. R-right Sh-Shana? Kagari?"

"No it wasn't that bad Azusa, Kagari are you ok?"

"Well great! Not only are we going to be frozen to death, yetis from the spirit world are going to enjoy a few adults for dinner, and have a couple of pre-teens for desert. I hope they enjoy crazy and stupid!"

"If the spirit world wasn't s-so cold...it'd be pretty nice."

"Anyone see Sensei Sai?"

"Lost... lost to the spirit world likely," Danforth commented, his voice unconcerned. That was until he saw the worried look assuredly on the student's face, <B>"Err... she is a strong, capable Jounin who has made this trip many times before. After all, why would she bring students someplace she herself could not handle?"<i></i> It was a false reassurance, in fact it was a mystery to even him as to why this instructor would risk the lives of such greenhorns so carelessly. A request or not, it was likely that the lives of these youths would be forfeit. Their loss is his gain - he has waited too long for this moment. This chance to finally reach the eye. All these years of searching, researching and preparing and he of course had to be accompanied by a herd of brats but even that would prove to be a benefit if they could survive to the center of the maze. He could probably get them that far.

The Maze:

The maze was something... It was large, great glass-like sliding structures that ground against the snowy earth. Clanking but never cracking as they seemed to pass through each other rather than shatter. The eye was supposedly at the 'center' of this maze. The 'center' was a relative term of course, the premise of a maze was to turn a traveler about-face so that they would never reach their goal. Attempting to find one's way through the maze would be utterly and completely pointless. Danforth stopped abruptly before the maze, the shifting glass inches from his nose. "Real... or FAKE... Real... or FAKE,"<i></i> he mused out loud while he waited for the class to catch up to him. "It is so fake it is real,"<i></i> Danforth concluded.

"I am going to need a volunteer,"<i></i> he announced as he eyed the shifting walls. Once inside, the things they would suffer... feel or perhaps see might be worse than death itself. So much fun.

What Happened?
  • We are about to enter the maze.
  • The maze is moving!
  • Danforth wants a volunteer for something.

'So What do we do now...?' Kagari wondered to himself, as he took in the albeit; scenic view of the ice tundra they were on. Sure they were freezing but, hey it looks pretty. He did however notice that most of the party was missing, in fact; alot of the party. Seika's group was missing, along with Saieko which worried Kagari. 'It looks like we're missing most of the group, just only me, Azuza, and Shana.' Kagari was immediately reminded of the presence of their "disinguished" guest, Danforth.

"Ha-ha!" Danforth announced, a few dozen meters ahead of the students 'under his care.' "Yes, of course! The path to the eye is nothing more than trickery and lies to deter those weak in heart or mind. Then to possess it... the want must be substantiated." His voice grew grim with each passing word, but at the very end he seemed to force a carefree smile as he beckoned the confused and freezing students to follow.
<i>
</i>

'Right...him too.' Kagari sighed a bit, Danforth gave off this rather flamboyant prescence that didn't really seem to suite the cold mood, but maybe it was his way of dealing with situations like these.

<i>
</i>

He could see Shana bewildered by the area they were in, she too seemed not all to prepared for today. 'Sensei said there would be risks..' Kagari reminded himself as he tried to gauge the area for any landmarks, caves, or even civilization.
"*Sneeze* Th-that wasn't too bad a-at all. R-right Sh-Shana? Kagari?" Azusa spoke while adjusting her jacket in the cold, seizing the moment to position herself between her peers.

"Heh, Bless you Azuza." Kagari smiling abit, seeing the cold finally settling in on the girl who was basically before they got here, was radaiting pure energy.

"No it wasn't that bad Azusa, Kagari are you ok?"
"Sigh, I'm fine. I'm really not looking forward to treking through the freezing cold. Other than my previous outburst, I think I can deal." Kagari slumped a bit, a bit discouraged from the situation at hand. He felt better that at least he had at least a few companions along on this journey but....man today was not the day Kagari would stand for any amount of temperature bellow freezing.

"If the spirit world wasn't s-so cold...it'd be pretty nice." Minus the eerie sound of the wind and the equally-ominous maze that they were about to venture into.
<i>
</i>

<B>"Anyone see Sai Sensei?"
<i>
</i>
"No idea, if she's not with us; then she could be with the other group...But i get the idea her intention was probably to be here with us...." Kagari said as he turned torward the group, looking around to see if anyone else was misplaced in the snow and ice.

"Lost... lost to the spirit world likely," Danforth commented, his voice unconcerned. That was until he saw the worried look assuredly on the student's face, "Err... she is a strong, capable Jounin who has made this trip many times before. After all, why would she bring students someplace she herself could not handle?"
<i>
</i>

"It's not her I'm worried about Mr. Danforth..." Kagari said as he started rubbing his hand, and blowing air into them trying to warm them up. Danforth didn't answer him, his mindset was focused on something else entirely it looked like. He started making his way in the snow torwards an area, with a destination most likely in mind. "Well...I guess we're following you." Kagari followed Danforth closely, hoping not to lose him. 'So we're in the spirit world, does that mean are here physically or...?' Kagari questioned whehter they're bodies are physically there. Maybe the cold they were feeling was actually something that was self concsioually induced, many questions were lingering in his head waiting to be answered.

a_few_minutes_later.jpg

The group had come upon a structure, it didn't look entirely human made nor natrual, something that was both beautiful and forboding to look at. It was a large maze that seemed way too out of place admist the snow and ice.

"Real... or FAKE... Real... or FAKE," he mused out loud while he waited for the class to catch up to him. "It is so fake it is real," Danforth concluded.
<i>
</i>

"A maze...wonderful. Truly, this is the spirit world. Please tell me that there will be a small man inside who asks us riddles." Kagari sighed as he noticed the large structure was moving, although it didn't shake the earth at all. 'Who made this thing? Can people...or even spirits create crap like this?! Kagari was alarmed at the glass like strucutre, it beamed light from what looks like to be the 'sun', or some artifical light source.

<COLOR color="#FF0000">"I am going to need a volunteer," he announced as he eyed the shifting walls. Once inside, the things they would suffer... feel or perhaps see might be worse than death itself. So much fun.
<i>
</i>

Kagari eyes narrowed at the man, if he was so eager to enter the place, why didn't he? Kagari didn't trust the man but Saieko brought him here for a reason, so he hoped that Saieko would explain things then. But now with her out of the picture probably, and the possiblity of getting even more seperated, Kagari was determined to have no more hidden truths.

"Whatever you're voluenterring us for I hope you do plan to tell us some timeframe Mr. Danforth. You were all quiet and mysetrious a few minutes ago and now you seem to be talking again." Kagari's tone changed into a more serious one, doing his best to try and get something out the man.

"Where the hell are we?"

"Thank you..." Azusa spoke while rubbing her nose after he sneeze. Spirit world or no, it was cold! It chilled her to the soul...But puns aside, without Saieko-sensei with them, that meant Danforth was the lead in charge. He....would be familiar with what Saieko was after here, right? She did call him to assist, afterall. Even wih his eccentricities, he should be able to handle the situation while Saieko figured out what had gone wrong with the ritual.

...But what if he couldn't? With Danforth mentioning that sensei could have been lost in the spirit world, Azusa couldn't shake off the feeling of dread she felt in this unfamiliar environment. They were clearly not in Suna anymore, and no longer had the safety of being within a village of shinobi. There were no Anbu to keep watch, and Sensei wasn't around if something did happen. Danforth may or may not have even been a shinobi. All she had was a small kunai...and she had given away her only good-luck blessing to Saieko at the start of class...

Regardless, she knew she didn't exactly want to their group, already separated from the rest, to be even more split up. "O-kay! Focus, Azusa!" She clapped her hands together in an effort to push aside her doubts, before hurrying off after Danforth with the others, encountering the large labyrinth ahead of them...And Danforth's extremely close inspection of reality.
"It's fake, isn't it? Its too big...and shouldn't be moving. It has to be a Genjutsu or something, right?" Azusa chimed in as she approached the maze to the point she was as close to ice as Danforth was. A maze this large would have been too large to make, and they didn't seem to have any real substance or weight behind the way they shifted. In fact, the more Azusa inspected it the more her mind started rationalize that it couldn't be real. Not without a full squad of shinobi behind the movements, but she saw no signs of that.

"I volunteer. Watch." Azusa spoke, assuming Danforth had also made the same observation of the maze as her. She was always taught that when you thought something was a Genjutsu, you should focus on breaking the illusion. That was clearly what he was after, right?

Having not a hammer nor a chair, that meant the strongest blunt object Azusa could hit the wall with was...
"Diiiiissss..." She leaned back.
"...PEELL!!" She headbutt the wall. With confidence.

She headbutted the hell out of the crystal maze. Sometimes confidence hurt =(
