Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Bloody Mess
Cutting deep and hard is the only way to keep an enemy weak and desperate. The best weapons are, after all, the ones that kill on their own. Poisons and bleeding are always the way to go when you want an edge over your enemies. It would be no different for me as I decided to focus my attention on inflecting deep-seated cuts into my enemies. It has been remarkably well suited to my style of fighting. I have always been able to focus on finding and exploiting weak points to critically injure my foes. I have found that this is far less effective on the seemingly clumsy ones. They always seem to subtly dodge my focused strikes with apparent ease. I hate those types so god damn much it isn't even funny. How can you dodge like that? It's some overpowered bullshit is what it is. It destroys the entire point of my focused attacks and my bloodlines focus in general. Smh.

Combat Instinct
I've been told before by the instructors at the academy that my ferocity and instincts to push when my enemies tires and their vitality wanes is spectacular. I don't disagree with them. Knowing when to go for the kill has always been a trait shared by many great warriors of the past and I'd like to think myself the same. Having insight into my own strengths is incredibly valuable and learning that I had an edge when I began to smell blood was both worrying and encouraging to my prospect as a shinobi. The keen ability to know when to push and when to pull back is an indispensable advantage in the thick of battle. When this talent is paired up with the style of the Nanjirou, it becomes a priceless commodity in a close battle.

Contract Mastery
Having been forced to adapt or die, I have learned to utilize my bitch of a main contact to almost perfection. I am able to summon her in a rather proficient manner to get the most out of her. Though I mainly use the actual contract so Akane can maintain her physical form more freely and fight freely in her own right, I do occasionally get series and utilize her completely empowered weapon form. I will never admit it, but I feel it is more accurate to say that it isn't so much that I have mastered the contract summoning as it is that Akane has gotten grown slightly too connected to this plane. Regardless, I will maintain the status quo.

Human Anatomy
Being a Surgeon has its benefits. I have become incredibly skilled over the years at finding the exact weak point of my enemies. I know just where to aim to cause the most damage and inflict the most pain. I have used these skills with great efficiency as I have made my way through the ranks. Over this entire time, I have found out just how fragile the human condition is and how I can speed up someone's demise just from how many times I've had to save my own patients from themselves. I could cut an artery and kill a man just as easily as I have removed a tumor and save a dying man. In this world, my skills are invaluable. I can only hope that translates well to more money in the future.

Jutsu Expansion
Being versatile is a skill most befitting of someone who cares about their own life. Flexibility can be the difference between life and death. The innate ability to change the flux of chakra into creative ways, to the point where the more mundane moves can be boosted beyond their intended effects is an incredible skill. I am no stranger to the concept and I've found it to be incredibly helpful in my endeavors. It complements my fighting style all too well as I've known quite a few skills from all three branches. Having this skill sure has been a game-changer.

Mind Overflow
I don't like to brag about my genjutsu abilities. It is one of my greatest trump cards I possess. If I ever gave off the impression of being the type for subtlety, I have failed at my own con. I am boisterous about my main ability so no one will notice when I weigh down their movements with a genjutsu they weren't expecting. This has a tendency to lead me into situations where I can inflict more damage to an unprepared foe. Even being slightly off when trying to dodge can cause worse injuries to occur and I've learned very well how to capitalize on these mistakes in a very lethal manner.

Paramedic
Get in, get out. That was the job when I wasn't in the hospital and I got damned good at my emergency treatment out on the field. I wasn't a combat medic, that's for sure. I mean, I did fight a lot, but medical knowledge outside of the human anatomy was never really a part of the equation when it came to my fights, I rely far too much on my instincts and all that. Regardless, I know my way around a trauma kit. Caring for incapacitated allies and enemies alike was never a problem for me out in the field. If those around me are hurt, I'm the guy you want at your beck and call.

Quick Reaction
There's an underlying flow to combat that most are oblivious towards. I have seen it from the likes of Hoshi and others who study reactionary combat that finding that flow can be the difference between life and death. With much practice and patience, I have been studying the art of countering for a long time. The flow of an attack is both forceful, but also vulnerable. If you attack recklessly, you leave yourself open to return fire and that's where I have learned to hone my abilities. Twitch reactions soon replaced the hesitant and tense moments of a fight. I learned to never be content with wherever my skills stood.

Shinobi 101 (Magnetic jutsus use melee accuracy)
The first time I heard the magnetic forces that are inherent to most metals speak to me like a whisper, I have always thought back to that moment as if it were an epiphany. The metals move to my will almost like another limb. This discovery has lead me to accomplish movements with my weapons using magnetic forces almost as skillfully as if it were in my left hand. My weapons move at a speed similar to thrown projectiles, follow through as if I were the one behind the thrust or slash and I can even channel magnetic chakra into the weapon at a distance. I have refined what should be possible with magnetic-based control.

Weapon Attunement
Understanding in how to bring the best out of your weapons has been a goal for any hopeful aspiring martial artist. I am no exception to the fact that I also want to push my weapons to the peak of their performance. In this endeavor, I've been able to exceed the bounds of what can be expected out of custom-made weapons. My weapons are sharper, lighter, and just a slight bit higher in quality than what most blacksmiths could make on their own. The fact that I'm also quite skilled at using them only serves to push these innovations beyond their intended design. I can't even help but think of the many different ways I could tinker with my designs to craft even deadlier weapons in the future.

Willpower (Extra Ability)
A strong defensive mind against the attacks of others. I always had an ability to keep my thoughts to myself and my will has never been lacking despite my upbringing and attitude towards life. I half-heartedly joke that if I hadn't the will that I did back then, I'd have likely already been dead and gone. How true that joke may actually be. When I became a shinobi, this hardened will was a lot more valuable than I originally gave it credit for. I am able to muster the power needed to dispel any Genjutsu because of it, however. The fact that my mind was already hardened enough to fight on the level of a Genjutsu master even slightly is remarkable to me.

Bloodline:

I was told about six months after the explosion that I wasn't as alone as I had once thought. I found out that, although minute, my mother was once the great-granddaughter of some famous Nanjirou Warrior before she was banished for being a piece of shit. I, however, was not burdened by her disgraceful behavior and was given the option of following the ways of the Nanjirou. Giving the option of folding back into the clan as a branch member, and live happily ever after, I took it and only somewhat regretted it. I had the choice of going another path, train individually in some other unique way all my own, but I took the first option given to me and have stuck to it through thick and thin.

The first act I had upon informing the clan of my decision to join was the crafting of my ancestral weapon. Had I been from the main branch, a well-known side branch, or given even a moderate inheritance, I could've been granted a weapon from my family. Instead, I was treated just like most secondary children in a line that had been forced to create their own spiritual weapon. I chose after many sleepless nights to forge myself a sharpened spear over that of a blade. It was not a popular choice, but it was mine.

For the base shaft and first spearhead, I decided I would make it out of carved wood from the trunk of a large healthy oak tree that I personally felled myself. Once the wood was hardened by a fire that I had nursed from a small spark that I had generated by rubbing two sticks together, I could feel the spiritual energy begin to gather in the air. I began to forge the head of the spear in such a thick atmosphere. Far more important than what the actual components of the spear itself, the act of being sole crafter from start to finish is what mattered to create a bond. The spear could be changed, morphed over time, but the connection that only exists between that of creator and creation must be established from the get-go through my own efforts. Once I was satisfied with my results, I was able to feel the connection between me and my spear. I decided to name it Akane after my late mother as both a mockery and a comfort.

The training of the bloodline itself was brutal. I had to awaken the spirit of my weapon which ended up being a lot more draining on my psyche than I thought it would take. In the end, though. My spear ended up becoming a holy artifact. The Irony of its holy nature was not lost on someone like me. I was told the alignment was exceedingly rare as most became spiritual in nature or even cursed. I was slightly proud of that fact, but I hid that feeling deep away. After about a year of practice, I was vetted on my knowledge of the basics. I was expected, from this point on, to improve on my own. I took this as the starting line for my eventual rise into the hierarchy of this cold world.

Nanjirou
A distinct clan of samurai that has been the source of some of the greatest swordmasters throughout the land. Renown for the lethal finesse they display in their sword fighting with some of the most ancient blades, a Nanjirou is said to come of age only when their ancestry awakens within them; gifting them with the spiritual link to their ancestors that can be evoked to display advanced techniques honed through generations of experience.

Akane (Ancestral Weapon / Kensei / Tsukumogami)[Spritual]
dk4lAPP.png

Description:

Bearing the same name of his mother, Akane is a spear forged and reforged with a unique design of steel, cobalt, and a few other rare and highly magnetic materials. The weapon of choice for Eishi Isobe is by no means at random. Akane utilizes a dozen powerful electromagnets at specific points in the shaft, hilt, and guard. Because of this, it has a greater degree of control to anyone who can utilize magnetic fields.

Originally given unique ore in lieu of an ancestral weapon, Eishi was, in a not-so-voluntarily fashion, forced to do the best he could with what he had and forge his own path. Thanks to a few competent lessons in the art of Kensei graphing, he was able to infuse the majority of his soul into his spear.

Losing no sleep over the deed, Eishi was quick to try and contract with the masked god Manahime only to be tricked into a vicious game between a group of ghosts and a nasty necromancer from his past. Thanks to some quick thinking and a whole lot of rage, Eishi was able to awaken his weapon Tsukumogami spirit a hundred years early at a great expense to his own anima.

Awoken with a separate ego, Akane is willful enough for a weapon spirit, tending to take the form of a twenty-some-year-old woman outside of the spear itself. Never needed to be sharpened, heavy as all hell weighing in at a whopping 176 kilograms, and able to handle her spear form almost as well as her creator, Akane has every right to be called a legendary weapon. Though, only those with immense physical strength or an affinity for her metallic nature will be able to handle this weapon effectively. Those who try without Akane's blessing will find a very uncooperative spear. Those that are able to handle this unruly beast, however, will find a true dragon killer of a weapon.

Eishi's Four Spiked Dodecohedrans

RqIlq72.png

Description:

As Eishi has become more skilled at his control of earth and specifically metal objects, he has found that channeling into a spherical object has the effect of stabilizing them from all sides. By forcing the connection evenly between the twenty vertices of the dodecahedron and having them elongate out into fearsome spikes, Eishi has effectively created four steel death balls that can zip around at insane speeds to leave havoc and destruction behind in their wake.

You haven't seen chaos until you've seen four balls, about the size of man's fist, blow down a building by slamming into the support pillars from all sides at once. Effectively lowering the effects of air resistance without harming their structural integrity, these four balls of destruction are hollow in the middle by design. Regardless, No one wants to get in the way of one of these bad boys in a free-for-all. Unfortunately while powerful, they lack a certain degree of control due to their insane acceleration at times.

Unlike most disciplines, unarmed combat is the only style every shinobi should know regardless of their true calling. No one is ready at all times and finding one’s self flat-footed and unarmed may as well be a death sentence in this cruel thing we call life.

Due to Eishi’s physical limitations in his upper body, he adapted his style long ago to include kicking as his main form of non-lethal combat.

Approval pending a few fixes:

Weapon: Trick weapon only gives the weapon access to another Taijutsu subtype, not another secondary effect (can't have the bleeding and the called shot)
Inventory: A few things here---
-Each player is allotted only 3 inventory slots, whereas I'm counting 6 separate items here
-Pouches don't contain specific items, they choose an equipment type (poison, tool, trap) and just take from that list.
Class: Your points and class bonus all add up, but Dodge is a fixed stat and cannot be raised above average via your class.

Make sure you're reading all of the sections carefully when making these changes. I know some of this stuff can be a lot to take in, but if you need any further help feel free to PM me here or on Discord (Slap the Casbah)

I changed the trick weapon, disappointed it didn't do what I originally thought it did.

I'm allowed 4 spots because of training

Should be fixed.

EDIT: Also added Lightning Affinity

Abilities:
Combat Instinct:
I've been told my ferocity and instincts to push harder when my enemies tires have been noted by the instructors in the academy. Knowing when to go for the kill has been a trait shared by many great warriors of the past. I would be lying to say I wasn't proud of this newly learned fact about me. Knowing one's strengths is incredibly important and learning that I had an edge when I began to smell blood was both worrying and encouraging to my prospect as a shinobi. The keen ability to know when to push and when to pull back on an advantage is indispensable in the thick of battle. When this talent is paired up with the style of the Nanjirou, it becomes a priceless commodity in a close battle.

Human Anatomy:
I have had to learn how to live my life without a second arm when I've been told puppet jutsus would do no good for me when a loss was this high on the limb. Despite the terrible news, my adaptation with a single arm has been almost lightspeed fast on almost all fronts. It was because of this adaptability and my own fascination with medicine and medical care that I was able to develop this skill. The unintentional effect of allowing me to know the human muscular, skeletal, and cardiovascular systems was an almost inherent ability to know just where to aim my spear to puncture or cut in the most efficient ways possible. My hand had become a precision machine.

Implacable:
The first thing fighting games ever taught me was that hyper armor is one the most important mechanics to punish foes. I've taken this concept to heart and have found that enhancing my armor with chakra has given me the ability to both shrug off the first contact with my enemies, but to reduce even the most serious of attacks at the expense of my pool. When I found out that this could be used as a legitimate strategy, I was beyond excited to see what I could do. I found out very quickly, that while I could shrug off most effects, I was in the hospital for a week after a few back to back fights between genins and chunins. I was unable to numb the pain that I felt when it was all said and done.

Jutsu Mastery:
Repitition is the cornerstone of any martial artist. You always need to keep the pressure going on yourself lest you become stagnant and content. I've been a firm believer in improving both my self-preservation along with my combat ability through a wide list of available jutsus. Over the course of collecting my many different jutsus, I have become increasingly adept at finding the core function of any single jutsu at an accelerated rate. Mastering has yet to be anything besides a set amount of my time. Efficiency soon came about as I honed my skill in. At this point, I felt like anything besides the most advanced of jutsus, wouldn't be much of a challenge for me to learn.

Lightning - Chakra Style
Drawing lightning into my weapon has been a natural state for me. I don't feel like I have much connection with the elements in general, but my connection to lightning chakra has always been incredibly strong. Adapting my flow of shocking energy into a useful style was an amazing day for me and I've been quick to adapt it to my whole routine. By allowing it to flow even when my weapon isn't out, I've found the mastery over the element becoming more and more clear as it becomes a part of me. I'm fairly sure this is going to cause me issues for learning other elements when I'm so immersed in just this one, but I had no real plans to go very deep into other affinities anyway.

Pierce Weapon Mastery:
My spear is almost as important to me as a family member at this point. I have literally put a small part of my soul into this weapon and it's almost like a child to me. It is through this focus that I have come to understand the 'point' of piercing weapon. I knew from this moment that there could be no defense that couldn't be destroyed by the head of my spear. Even attempting to stop it would only result in an even more devastating break in any protection. I found no small amount of joy in seeing barriers and protections break under even more duress when I pushed them hard enough. It was a sickeningly sweet sight.

Weapon Attunement:
Understanding in how to bring the best out of your weapons has been a goal for any hopeful aspiring martial artist. I am no exception to the fact that I also want to push my ancestral weapon and lesser weapons to the peak of performance. In this endeavor, I've been able to push the bounds of what can be expected out of custom-made weapons. My weapons are sharper, lighter, and just a slight bit higher in quality than what most blacksmiths could make on their own. The fact that I'm also quite skilled at using combat weapons only serves to push these innovations beyond their intended design. Willpower
A strong defensive mind against the attacks of others. I always had an ability to keep my thoughts to myself and my will was never lacking despite my upbringing. I half-heartedly joke that if I hadn't the will that I did back then I'd have likely already been dead. How true that joke may actually be. When I became a ninja, this hardened will was a lot more valuable than I originally gave it credit for. I am able to muster the power needed to dispell any Genjutsu. For most this is downright impossible as Genjutsu users who could cast such dangerous skills are already masters of their craft, the fact that my mind was already hardened enough to fight on their level even slightly was remarkable. I hope that in the future I wouldn't meet too many genjutsu users, the entire skillset makes me shudder.

<U>Ancestral Weapon - Passive
The Nanjirou believe that the best ending to their life is to be as they lived; paired with a blade. Their remains are used in the forging and reforging of blades both new and old, quite literally infusing a part of them into their swords. It is for this reason that their are a myriad of unique weapons in the clan, each with their own history and displaying traits of those who came before. Many blades have a spirit within of one of their ancestors that serves as a guide to the Nanjirou as they live their life and grow in power.

Rank 1: Upon gaining this bloodline the user must designate a single Slashing or Piercing weapon as their Ancestral Weapon. Attacks made with this weapon gain one of the following alignments and the associated effect;</B>
  • Holy<i></i> The weapon protects the user against the first 175/275/400/550/675 damage that hits the wielder each round, increasing with the user's out of character rank D/C/B/A/S.
<i>
</i>
Rank 2: The Ancestral Weapon gains +1 Critical.
Rank 3: Critical bonus from Rank 2 no longer applies to caps.

Note:
- The user may only have a single Ancestral Weapon.
- The flavor regarding having an ancestral spirit within the weapon is still subject to the ghost NPC rules.
- The Ancestral Weapon must be stated in their Dojo thread. It and its alignment may be changed by remaking the chosen weapon.

Fitting for a clan of samurai, the Nanjirou are ingrained with a code of honor and pride before they even learn to speak. Due to carrying within them the blood and spirit of their lineage, the failure of oneself is seen as the failure of one's ancestry; to be the cause of such shame is not an option to them. The more a Nanjirou is pressured, the more of their Ancestry awakens.

Rank 1: The user gains +0.5 to all Secondary stats each time they lose 30% of their Max Hp, capping at +1.5 Secondaries.
Rank 2: The user is treated as having the Hidden Power ability (This does not require an abilities slot).
Rank 3: The user gains +0.5 to all Secondary stats each time they lose 15% Hp of their Max Hp, capping at +2 to their secondaries. So they gain a bonus at 85%/70%/55%/40%. If the user elects to fill one of their ability slots with Hidden Power, the cap is increased to +3. So they gain a bonus at 85%/70%/55%/40%/25%/10%.

Note(s):
- If the user has Hidden Power granted for free by a source which is not Bushido then the user is counted as having filled one of their ability slots with it even though the ability is not currently taking up an ability slot.

---

Wrath Seal - Activated Passive
The core of what separates a swordsman and a Nanjirou is their ties to their clan; the Nanjirou have the unique ability to invoke visions, emotions, and perhaps most importantly, techniques, of their predecessors. A misnomer, the Wrath Seal is a trance they enter that allows even a young Nanjirou to display advanced swordsmanship by channeling the power of an ancient grandmaster. This is no free power though; the trance is exhausting, and difficult to maintain during battle for an extended time.

Rank 1: Grants the user 1 Focus point upon activation and each round active. They may perform the Dancing Blade, Energy Slash and Vantage options.
Rank 2: Grants the user 2 Focus points upon activation and each round active. The user may now perform the Vorpal Edge option.
Rank 3: Grants the user 3 Focus points upon activation and each round active. The user may now perform the Lethality option.

One Focus point may be spent to add one of the following effects to a Slashing or Piercing attack;
  • Dancing Blade - The user may add +1 target to an attack. The user deals -10% damage for the remainder of the round; this stacks indefinitely each time used in the round.
  • Energy Slash - The attack does not count as Melee Contact.
  • Vantage - The user may attack a stealthed target that they failed an awareness check on at -5 accuracy.
  • Vorpal Edge - When Battoujutsu is used, it does not suffer from the damage penalty gained through the Dancing Blade or Uncanny Dodge Nanjirou skills.
  • Lethality - Doubles both the Critical buff limit and any Critical bonuses the user has, but halves the user's critical damage modifier.

Cost: 1 Ap to activate. 4% Max Cp/Rnd active

Notes:
- Unused Focus Points carry over to the next round, but cap out at a maximum of 5.
- Focus points modify an entire action, not just an individual hit.
- An attack may only be modified by a single Focus point (with the exception of a Spiritual Ancestral Weapon.)

---

Iaijutsu Mastery - Bloodline Fighting Style<i></i>
Through many years of training, the Nanjirou have developed a code: "Wherever we may be, we must be prepared." With this code in mind, they have developed a stance to adjust to every situation. Their sword is constantly sheathed, and they may quickly draw it and redraw it. There are a number of variations but any skilled Nanjirou will have their fearsome Battoujutsu at the ready.

Rank 1: Jigen-ryu -- The user's Piercing and Slashing Taijutsu attacks with their weapon while in this stance do +5% more damage.
Rank 2: Mugai-ryu -- Taijutsu attacks done with this style are modded 0.25 AP faster (costs are still paid in full).
Rank 3: Kensei-ryu -- The user takes +15% Damage from all sources, however their class Evasion stat is considered High.

Special Action - The user may choose to only select the "dodge attack to sheath weapon" effect of this style without any of the other effects. If so, this does not take up the user's physical style.

Cost: 0.5 AP to enter stance.

Note:
- At all ranks, upon dodging an attack the user may sheath their weapon for no cost.
- Can be used with -Any- Slashing or Piercing Weapon.
- No attack can be modded as if they cost less than 0.5 AP.
- While in the Kensei fighting style, the Nanjirou's damage buff cap is reduced to +25%. Additionally, any "beyond the cap" damage buffs they have are halved.

---

Battoujutsu - D Rank Buffing Taijutsu
The infamous quickdraw technique of the Nanjirou. In the hands of a Nanjirou a sheathed blade is more dangerous than a drawn one, and in the blink of an eye they can unsheathe and strike at their enemies. With few people outside of shinobi having the necessary reflexes to react, the Nanjirou became famed for their "one-hit kill" swordsmanship.

Rank 1: The user equips a Slashing or Piercing weapon and attacks with a Taijutsu; If the attack rolls a critical, the modifier is increased to x2.1 Critical damage.
Rank 2: The user equips a Slashing or Piercing weapon and attacks with a Taijutsu with +1 Critical range; If the attack rolls a critical, the modifier is increased to x2.2 Critical damage.
Rank 3: The user equips a Slashing or Piercing weapon and attacks with a Taijutsu with +2 Critical range; If the attack rolls a critical, the modifier is increased to x2.3 Critical damage.

Cost: No Ap; increases the Cp/HP cost of the attack used with this by +30%.

Note:
- The weapon must be sheathed at the start of this attack.
- This attack cannot benefit for critical attack bonus' from any other source (such as Human Anatomy) put it can be stacked with Nanjirou's Ancestral Weapon.
- This may be used with and gain bonus' from Nanjirou's Lethality.

---

Temporized Slash - C Rank Bloodline Slashing/Piercing Taijutsu
When facing a Nanjirou, one should never let their guard down, even when they believe themselves to have the upperhand. A technique performed by sheathing their sword in invisible chakra and slashing, the Nanjirou seals the wound right away through the use of the chakra and causes it to go unnoticed by the victim until they choose to release the chakra and open the wound. Often seen involving the user passing by the enemy in an apparent miss...Until blood suddenly gushes from multiple wounds at once.

Rank 1: Deals 1170 damage at -1 Accuracy. Damage dealt by this technique may show up as either a miss or hidden action (user's choice).
Rank 2: Deals 1460 damage. Damage dealt by this technique may show up as either a miss or hidden action (user's choice). Additionally, the user may choose an additional attack used during the current round or the next to be modded similarly.
Rank 3: Deals 1825 damage at +1 Accuracy. Damage dealt by this technique may show up as either a miss or hidden action (user's choice). Additionally, the user may choose an additional 2 attacks used during the current round or the next to be modded similarly.

Cost:
Rank 1: 1.75 Ap, 350 Cp
Rank 2: 1.75 Ap, 420 Cp
Rank 3: 1.75 Ap, 480 Cp

Notes:
- Attacks chosen to be hidden/missed may only be Slashing or Piercing Taijutsu.
- Lasts until the end of the following round, at which point all 'stored' damage is dealt at once.
- A target cannot be affected by multiple uses of Temporized Slash at once. Being hit by this Jutsu while already affected releases any stored damage from the previous use.
- 'Stored' attacks make their initial to-hit check at the time of use as normal. However, damage is not dealt until the time it is 'released'.
- If a 'stored' attack inflicts an effect such as bleeding or a debuff, it is applied upon the initial hit as usual but is 'hidden' from the mod until stored damage is released.
- Attacks still break binds as usual, despite the damage not being applied at the time of the hit.

---

Uncanny Dodge - C-Rank Bloodline Taijutsu
There are few people whose raw speed and reflex can rival that of a Nanjirou swordsmaster. Their swiftness can seem unnatural, as if aided by some jutsu effect or other influence, but it is simply the result of their willpower to endure their clan's intense physical conditioning.

Rank 1: Once used, the user will auto-dodge the next level E-B Jutsu that hits them. The user may use a single Special Action.
Rank 2: Once used, the user will auto-dodge the next level E-A Jutsu that hits them. The user may use a single Special Action.
Rank 3: Once used, the user will auto-dodge the next level E-A Jutsu that hits them. The user may use both Special Actions.

Special Action - Razor's Reflex: Requires Wrath Seal to be active. The Nanjirou may spend a Focus point when using Uncanny Dodge to make a basic melee attack against the attacker, dealing damage equal to 20% of the attack's intended damage.

Special Action - Hidden Warrior: By paying 0.5 additional AP at the time (not at cast) the attack is auto-dodged, the Nanjirou may attempt to enter stealth at -1 stealth bonus.

Cost: 1 Ap; Cp equal to 30% of the triggering attack (CP cost is paid upon the triggering attack but the AP is paid on cast).

Note:
- This cannot be used reflexively. This must be cast before the attack they attempt to auto-dodge.
- This is an activated auto-dodge.
- May only be used once per round, even if Acrobatics is an owned ability.
- May use both special actions at rank 3, and only a single one at rank 2.
- After usage, the Nanjirou deals -20% damage for the remainder of the round.

---

Sword Trance - B-Rank Bloodline Buffing Taijutsu
Calling forth the spirits of their ancestors, the Nanjirou manifests their willpower and soul in a form of living blade that dances around them. To the eyes of a stranger, they would appear like gleaming steel that appeared out of thin air but for the Nanjirou, each and every single blade was once a part of their living bloodline, aiding them in their techniques - refining them with their wisdom.

Effect: The user generates a certain amount of Living Blades each round and the user may choose to expend 1 Living Blade into their Basic Attack, offensive Bloodline Technique or Slashing/Piercing Taijutsu to grant it an additional effect. If the user is equipped with their Ancestral Weapon at the time of cast, the Living Blade user gains the effect under their weapon's Alignment instead.
  • Base - Attacks done with a Living Blade gains it +2 Accuracy.
  • Spiritual - Attacks done with a Living Blade uses the target's Genjutsu Save instead of their usual Dodge in the roll, and may perform a single Wrath Seal action without requiring a focus point.
  • Holy<i></i> - Attacks done with a Living Blade recovers the user's health by 175 / 275 / 400 / 550 / 675, scaling from the user's Out of Character Rank (D / C / B / A / S).
  • Cursed<i></i> - Attacks done with a Living Blade will siphon 1% of the target's maximum Health and adds it to the user's Bloodlust Pool.
Rank 1: Generates 2 Living Blades.
Rank 2: Generates 3 Living Blades.
Rank 3: Generates 4 Living Blades.

Cost: 2.25 AP and 1% max HP to activate, 1% max HP/round to maintain.

Notes:
- Lasts for 3 rounds and has a round cooldown after the end of the duration.
- The user can only hold up to 6 Living Blades at a time.
- The Light/Dark versions do not stack if used with an attack hitting multiple targets at once. Light will only heal the user once per attack, and the Dark variant will only add the highest damage dealt amount to the user's Bloodlust Pool.

---

Crescent Arc - B-Rank Bloodline Slashing/Piercing Taijutsu
The Nanjirou's mastery over their body is paralleled by the mastery they have over their own mind. Able to feel their own bodily energies they are able to harness their spiritual wrath tangibly. They release an arc of energy from their sword from afar. This pure energy is disruptive to the chakra coils in their opponent, often exhausting their adversaries long before they achieve victory.

Rank 1: The user strikes once dealing 825 Taijutsu damage and an additional 825 chakra damage.
Rank 2: The user strikes once dealing 980 Taijutsu damage at +1 Accuracy and an additional 980 chakra damage.
Rank 3: The user strikes once dealing 1,165 Taijutsu damage at +2 Accuracy and an additional 1,165 chakra damage.

Special Action: For -1 to the attack's accuracy this attack may target a second target. This may stack up to three times.

Cost:
Rank 1: 2.25 Ap, 655 Cp
Rank 2: 2.25 Ap, 780 Cp
Rank 3: 2.25 Ap, 885 Cp

Notes:
- Can be used with Melee or Ranged Accuracy.
- If used with Ranged Accuracy, this attack has a second chance to hit if the initial use was a miss; this can only occur once per round. This energy strike deals 80% normal damage at -3 Accuracy.

---

Tsubame Gaeshi - A-Rank Bloodline Slashing/Piercing Taijutsu
In a single decisive strike fabled to never miss, a Nanjirou can take down a weakened foe. The voices from their ancestors call out the them and some say that they can see the face of these ancient warriors in place of the man living this day or that their hands guide the blade of their descendant. The strike is the pinnacle of swordsmanship, and so powerful it cleanly splits solid stone.

Rank 1: At + 3 accuracy the Nanjirou attempts to strike down a single target dealing 2650 damage. This attack cannot target a clone or an unintended target.
Rank 2: At + 3 accuracy the Nanjirou attempts to strike down a single target dealing 3050 damage. This attack cannot target a clone or an unintended target and cannot be auto-dodged.
Rank 3: At + 3 accuracy the Nanjirou attempts to strike down a single target dealing 3505 damage. This attack cannot target a clone or an unintended target, cannot be auto-dodged and can target an opponent in stealth as if they were regularly targeting an opponent (but this is done at -3 accuracy).

Cost:
Rank 1: 2.75 Ap, 1400 Cp
Rank 2: 2.75 Ap, 1750 Cp
Rank 3: 2.75 Ap, 2100 Cp

Notes:
- May only be used once per round.
- If the opponent was in stealth when they were hit with this attack, this attack does not take them out of stealth but they would take the full damage of this attack.[/fontsize]

Eishi, there are a few things we still need to work through with all of this dojo stuff before I can approve most of this:
  • Abilities Approved: It would be nice if you linked to the training where you purchased your ability card so that we remember when we come to approve your dojo stuff in the future.
  • Affinities Pending: I'm assuming you are using your free Major/Minor affinities for this, but in order to avoid confusion in the future I want to confirm this before approving these.
  • Bloodline Not Approved: Bloodline requests (as well as kinjutsus for future reference) are made with a new post under the Cloud Request forum and require approval there before being utilized. It might seem tedious but it makes for a cleaner paper trail on our end.
  • Class Not Approved: The Modifiers look good for how many stats you have set to High, but I will reiterate that dodge cannot be set to High. is is a fixed stat, always set to Average, as stated in the custom class rules in the Ultimate Battle Rules:
IMPORTANT: Evasion (Dodge) and Genjutsu Save are a fixed secondary and are always in average.
If you are thinking of your Nanjirou ability, that wouldn't apply to a base class like this, it would change it during battle if you chose to use it.
  • Inventory Approved: You were correct on having 4 slots due to Item Hoarder, that was my bad. I was mistaken with one of the announcements and didn't see the ASP item in your training. So once again, a link to the purchase would help tremendously for future changes.
  • Wooden Shortspear Not Approved: Most of this is correct, but the Trick Weapon part and Bleed chance are off.
    • Sorry if Trick Weapon is still causing a hassle. It only gives access to another Taijutsu type (e.g. slashing, piercing, etc.), not anything else. This means you would not have two separate secondary effects nor two separate sets of modifiers. In this example, it would only be slashing/piercing, and you would have to choose a single set of modifiers.
  • While I see your reasoning, this can shoot you in the foot. Bleed chances are based on the bleed level, so could be different each time you attack. I would say +8% bleeding from weapon attunement and Razer Strike to make certain a b-mod will understand it.

Important: Multi-hit jutsu only count as one hit.
  • Lightning Baton Approved (Just to make sure I know what's going on, can you verify what the crossed out augments are on both weapons? Since you edited the post I can't see what was previously used and if they are just being replaced or not.)

Overall: I like the RP stuff you're doing, and encourage a continued effort! But with the battle system, I, unfortunately, have to be strict and make sure everything is very concise. Let me know if you have any questions!
Also, we need a papertrail of this happening, so if you want to update stuff in your first post, please make a new response in the topic instead of editing the first one. Like I said, now there is no good way for me to check with your augments what happened.

[spoilername="Updates"]</B></U>

I can't even help but think of the many different ways I could tinker with my designs to craft even deadlier weapons in the future.

Willpower (EXTRA ABILITY)
A strong defensive mind against the attacks of others.

Remaining Yen: 282,550 - 16,800 = 265,750
*I've noticed there doesn't seem to be too much uniformity to whether people buy augments here or in training, so if anyone asks why your Yen is lower in training you can always refer them here.

Let the cardboard box fort shenanigans begin.... All approved!

Abilities:

Losing these three abilities:

Repetition is the cornerstone of any martial artist.

Replacing / Adding these four:

Bloody Mess
Cutting deep and hard is the only way to keep an enemy weak and desperate. The best weapons are, after all, the ones that kill on their own. Poisons and bleeding are always the go to when you want an edge over your enemies. It would be no different for me as I decided to focus my attention on inflecting deep-seated cuts into my enemies. It has been remarkably well suited to my training into my bloodline. I have been able to focus on finding and exploiting weak points to critically injure my foes. I have found that this is far less effective on the seemingly clumsy ones. They always seem to subtly dodge my focused strikes with apparent ease. I hate those types so god damn much it isn't even funny. How can you dodge like that? It's overpowered bullshit is what it is. It destroys the entire point of my focused attacks and my bloodlines focus in general. Smh.

Duelist
Fighting a duel between two people is probably one of the greatest rushes a warrior can ever feel. I have embraced this side of me wholeheartedly. I found nothing more satisfying than a strong fighter in a one on one fight. It was no wonder my skill set began to revolve around solo combatants. Anyway, I worked hard for my abilities and I'm only just beginning to shine a couple months into my career. It also helps that we don't usually have to live with the consequences of a broken nose or a cut lip with what medical ninjutsus are like in this day and age. As long as you aren't broken, you can be fixed. The repeated fighting has shown my latent talent in getting a read on my opponent. It does tend to make me tunnel a bit hard. This has, in turn, lead to some very bad encounters in a few group fights.

Quick Reaction
There's an underlying flow to combat that most are oblivious towards. I have seen it from the likes of Hoshi and others who study reactionary combat that finding that flow can be the difference between life and death. With much practice and patience, I have been studying the art of countering. The flow of an attack is both forceful, but also vulnerable. If you attack recklessly, you leave yourself open to return fire and that's where I have learned to hone my abilities. Twitch reactions soon replaced the hesitant and tense ones. I was happy with where my skillset was heading. I felt like I was a becoming a solid Shinobi of Kumo.

Shinobi 101 Magnetic jutsus use melee accuracy
The magnetic forces that are inherent to most metals have been almost like an epiphany to me. They move to my will almost like another limb. This has lead me to accomplish movements with my weapons using magnetic forces almost as skillfully as a seasoned war veteran. My weapons move at a speed similar to thrown projectiles, follow through as if I were the one behind the thrust or slash and I can even channel magnetic chakra into the weapon at a distance. I have refined what should be possible with magnetic based control. I will only continue to grow from here and my ability to control the workings of metal will more than likely grow right along with it.

Description:
As Eishi has become more skilled at his control of earth and specifically metal objects. He has found that channeling into a spherical object has the effect of stabilizing magnetic weapons. By forcing the twenty vertices of the dodecahedron to all have an elongated spike, Eishi now owns four steel death ball that can travel at insane speeds to leave havoc and destruction behind in their wake. You haven't seen chaos until you've seen four balls the size of large man's fist blow down a building by slamming into the support pillars from all sides at once while the wield was just standing there unmoving. The four balls of death are hollow in the middle by design so the air resistance has a noticeably lessened effect on them. Wouldn't want the air to get in the way of these bad boys of mayhem.

Eishi has admitted that he is scared of how powerful these balls can become in the wrong hands of someone with strong magnetic ability. Likely they were current in his hands and he wasn't about to let his second favorite toy get away from him that easily.

Being versatile is a skill most befitting of someone who cares about their own life. Flexibility was the difference between life and death. The innate ability to change the flux of chakra into creative ways, to the point where the more mundane moves can be boosted beyond their intended effects is an incredible skill. I am no stranger to the concept and I've found it to be incredibly helpful. It complements my fighting style all too well as I've known quite a few skills from all three branches of combat. I have already tested it out and some boosted jutsus end up pretty remarkable.

Bloodline:

I was told about six months after the explosion that I wasn't as alone as I thought. I found out that, although minute, my mother was a disgraced great-granddaughter of a famous Nanjirou Warrior. I, however, was not burdened by her disgrace and was given the option of following the ways of the Nanjirou and folding back into the clan as a branch member. I had the choice to go another path, train individually in a unique way all my own, but this seemed like the option that was right for me. I grew tired of being alone even when I was with my old 'family', it was nice to be part of something larger, even if I didn't see eye to eye with all of the teachings of Samurai.

The first act I had upon informing the clan of my decision to join was the crafting of my ancestral weapon. Had I been from the main branch or a well-known side branch, I could've inherited a weapon from my family, but even then, most second children of the line had to create their own weapon. I chose after many sleepless nights to forge myself a sharpened spear over that of a blade. For the base shaft and first spearhead, I decided I would make it out of carved wood from the trunk of a large oak tree that I personally fell, hardened by a fire that I conjured up. The act of being the one to do the deed from start to finish was far more important than the actual spear itself. The spear could be changed, morphed over time, but the connection from being the builder of the spear had to come from my own efforts. Once I have access to a forge of my own, money that I earned through hard work and sturdy supply of metal ores that I mined myself, I'll craft a spearhead of dense metals that I can be proud of! I promised to myself as I formulated the plans to improve my spear.

The training of the bloodline itself was brutal, I had to awaken the spirit of my weapon which ended up being a lot more draining on me then I thought it would be, but in the end, my spear ended up becoming a holy weapon. I was told the alignment was exceedingly rare as most became spiritual in nature or even cursed. I was slightly proud of that fact, but I hid it away well enough. After about a year of practice, I was vetted on knowing the basis for the line. I was expected from this point on to improve myself. I took this as the starting line for my eventual rise into the hierarchy of this world.

Because of my status as the son of a disgraced lady of Ninjirou, I still had to endure some alienation. My weapon contains no spirit of an ancestor, as I did not have any to inherit. I was treated as a branch member and was forced to craft my own weapon from scratch. By infusing my own essence into my spear I was able to get the same effect as others. Unfortunately, doing the merging of energy this way will take me years if not decades for a spirit to spawn from my own infusion of chakra and natural energy. I knew someday I'd awaken my blades spirit, but for now, it was simply a pipe dream.

Ancestral Weapon - Passive

---

Bushido - Passive

Note(s):

One Focus point may be spent to add one of the following effects to a Slashing or Piercing attack;

---

<B>Battoujutsu - D Rank Buffing Taijutsu

Rank 2:Once used, the user will auto-dodge the next level E-A Jutsu that hits them.

New abilities for getting to rank A:

Jutsu Mastery
Repetition is the cornerstone of any martial artist.

Strategist
I have always been prepared for the worst-case scenario. Even if my first plans generally succeed a majority of the time, I try to never be caught off guard. Being one step ahead is just another edge that most can't seem to get their thick heads around. I have been unprepared before in my life and I don't plan for it to ever happen again. I keep my wit about me and my mind sharp. This world is a dangerous place and knowing when to strategize for an incoming battle is paramount to surviving. It also helps that there is nothing more satisfying than watching someone step on a well placed explosive note. Though, it does tend to be a bit gorier than I always expect with their leg bits flying all over the place.

Smh.

Combat Instinct

Jutsu Expansion
Being versatile is a skill most befitting of someone who cares about their own life.

Shinobi 101 (Magnetic jutsus use melee accuracy)
The magnetic forces that are inherent to most metals have been almost like an epiphany to me. They move to my will almost like another limb. This has lead me to accomplish movements with my weapons using magnetic forces almost as skillfully as a seasoned war veteran. My weapons move at a speed similar to thrown projectiles, follow through as if I were the one behind the thrust or slash and I can even channel magnetic chakra into the weapon at a distance. I have refined what should be possible with magnetic based control. I will only continue to grow from here and my ability to control the workings of metal will more than likely grow right along with it.

Strategist
I have always been prepared for the worst-case scenario. Even if my first plans generally succeed a majority of the time, I try to never be caught off guard. Weapon Attunement
Understanding in how to bring the best out of your weapons has been a goal for any hopeful aspiring martial artist. I can't even help but think of the many different ways I could tinker with my designs to craft even deadlier weapons in the future.

Willpower (Extra Ability)
A strong defensive mind against the attacks of others.

Eishi's Steel Spear (Ancestral Weapon / Kensei)<i></i>(Spritual)
tzp9kew.png

Description:
A spear of unimaginable creativity, it is entirely unique in the fact that not only can it pierce enemies, but it can also slash hostiles because of its ingenious design. Never before had someone thought of sharpening the head of a spear and using sweeping motions instead of just thrusting the pointy end into the target. This moment in history would be a turning point in the world. And it was all thanks to a one-armed boy as he crafted this remarkable wooden spear with a pocket knife in a dirty alleyway in Kumo.

After a few months of continuous use, the blade was reforged for the first time. Its entire shaft a malleable wood was filled with a rod made out of a self-smelted iron with a high concentration of aluminum woven in giving Eishi an almost vice-like grip over the spear, his flow of chakra and will enough to make it swing about like it was still in his hand. The head of the spear is crafted from sharpened steel collected and smelted by Eishi's own hand. Whereas the old spear of a wooden design was a mere prototype, this was the true spear of war. It is infused with Eishi's ancestral spirit as a member of the Nanjirou bloodline and is growing in power right alongside its master.

By forcing the twenty vertices of the dodecahedron to all have an elongated spike, Eishi now owns four steel death ball that can travel at insane speeds to leave havoc and destruction behind in their wake. You haven't seen chaos until you've seen four balls the size of man's fist blow down a building by slamming into the support pillars all from the outside at once. The four balls of death are hollow in the middle by design so the air resistance has a much lower effect on them. Wouldn't want the air to get in the way of these bad boys of mayhem.

Eishi has admitted that he is scared of how powerful these balls can become in the wrong hands of someone with magnetic ability. Likely they were current in his hands and he wasn't about to let his second favorite toy get away from him that easily.

Be it for themselves and even for those around them, a Defiant will always fight for their own sense of reason, never betraying their own beliefs in place of another. Those that follow this path are blessed with a boon of luck to all their actions, almost as if they had bent fate to their favor to make up for years of poor fortune.

Smh.

Combat Instinct

Jutsu Expansion
Being versatile is a skill most befitting of someone who cares about their own life.

Jutsu Mastery
Repetition is the cornerstone of any martial artist.

Weapon Attunement
Understanding in how to bring the best out of your weapons has been a goal for any hopeful aspiring martial artist. I can't even help but think of the many different ways I could tinker with my designs to craft even deadlier weapons in the future.

Willpower (Extra Ability)
A strong defensive mind against the attacks of others.

A spear forged and reforged until a unique design was created. Named after his mothThe weapon of choice for Eishi Isobe is by no means at random. Originally given unique ore in lieu of an ancestral weapon in an not entirely voluntarily fashion, Eishi has done the best he could do to forge his path. Thanks to a few competent lessons in the art of Kensei graphing, he was able to infuse the majority of his soul into his spear. Losing no sleep, Eishi was quick to try and contract with the masked god Manahime only to be tricked into a vicious game between a group of ghosts and a nasty necromancer from his past. Thanks to some quick thinking and a whole lot of rage, Eishi was able to awaken his weapon Tsukumogami spirit a hundred years early at a great expense to his own anima.

Awakening with a separate ego, Akane is willful enough for a weapon, tends to take the form of a twenty-some-year-old woman able to handle its spear form on its own. Never needed to be sharpened and heavy as all hell, those without immense strength or an affinity for metal will not be able to handle this dense weapon effectively. Those that are able to handle this unruly beast, will find a dragon killer of a spear.

Description:

Smh.

Combat Instinct

Contract Mastery
Having been forced to adapt or die, Eishi has learned to utilize his main contact to almost perfection. He is able to summon in an insanely proficient manner to get the most out of the weapon he mainly uses and it has shown in Akane's ability to maintain her physical form and fight in her own right. Eishi will never admit it, but he feels it is more accurate to say that it isn't so much him that has mastered the contract summoning as much as it is his contract has gotten slightly out of his own grasp to stop from strengthening herself. Regardless, he maintains the status quo.

Human Anatomy
Being a Surgeon has its benefits. I have become incredibly skilled over the years at finding the exact weak point of my enemies. I know just where to aim to cause the most damage and inflict the most pain. I have used these skills with great efficiency as I have made my way through the ranks. Over this entire time, I have found out just how fragile the human condition is and how I can speed someone's demise, just as quickly as I could save it. I have both guts a man just as easily as I have removed a tumor from a dying man. In this world, my skills are invaluable. I can only hope that translates well to more money.

Jutsu Expansion
Being versatile is a skill most befitting of someone who cares about their own life.

Mind Overflow
I don't like to brag about my genjutsu abilities. It is my greatest hidden card I possess. If I ever gave off the impression the type for subtlety, I have failed at my own con. I am boisterous about my main ability so no one will notice when I weigh down their movements with a genjutsu they weren't expecting. This has a tendency to lead me into situations where I can inflict more damage to an unprepared foe. Even being slightly off when trying to dodge can cause an even worse injury to occur and I've learned very well how to capitalize on these mistakes.

Paramedic

Weapon Attunement
Understanding in how to bring the best out of your weapons has been a goal for any hopeful aspiring martial artist. I can't even help but think of the many different ways I could tinker with my designs to craft even deadlier weapons in the future.

Willpower (Extra Ability)
A strong defensive mind against the attacks of others.
