The dinner they had just eaten, or in Yuii's case picked at, was cleaned up quickly with the plate for Kaji set aside for his return. Silently, as she found her coat hidden in the bedroom she often shared with her black-haired lover, Yuii congratulated herself on a well-cooked meal and not vomiting it up. It was getting hard during these early days to keep her composure over a meal.
Admittedly she had forgotten all about Tatsuo living with Kaji. She came and went in the latest and earliest hours of the day normally; times that would make running into Tatsuo nigh impossible. So, when Yui had made her plan to leave the Torre Celeste early, cook Kaji a meal and talk to him once he came home; she hadn't figured in an audience member. It threw a loose bolt into the entire evening, as her already emotionally volatile state would not stand for the extra judgement. She had screwed up, Kaji was certain to be angry with her, but that was all a private matter.
"I think there are some old carrots in the fridge that Kaji saved for it," she shouted down the hallway whilst fidgeting with the buttons the fabric folds on her coat until they seemed to lay flat. There wasn't much show yet, but if Oniyuri's keen eye had noticed something then she needed to be careful. "Kooki doesn't like me much, I guess I smell too much like 'Yuri, so it'll be up to you to coax them in."
She would appear by the front door a minute later, already in her shoes and bundled as if there was a snowstorm coming instead of the light dusting of frost. Oniyuri had already disappeared out into the dusky forest, and Yuii hesitated only long enough to make sure they both had proper footwear before following.
"I taught Hoshi a lesson when he was still in the academy. I hope he's tempered his fighting style a bit more than back then and isn't expelling chakra needlessly. He was his own worst enemy." She mused aloud as she rounded the house to find the simple pitchfork and shovel to feed and clean up after Kaji's pet. "And what about you? Admittedly, Kikei's rambling report of your mission didn't have much.... positive information."
