Runa - Ghost NPC
Runa floated aimlessly through the quieter side of the village, her trademark childlike smile on her face, and her hands clasped behind her back as she drifted closer to the call she felt in her chest. She had never felt such a strong empathic pull before, one that drew her away from her father’s side. It was a strange mix of comfort and somberness, and she couldn’t quite decide which stirred her forward with each silent step. Still, there was no denying that she was curious, and once Runa found something that riled her curiosity, that instinct rarely let the nine-year-old spectre rest. "He's going to worry, but this feeling... I gotta follow it." The sweet little spirit thought to herself.
Within a room, deep in the Santaru clan complex, there was a quiet space where a young girl with brown hair sat. Near the girl, a pale blue fox gazed around with a watchful air, multiple tails spreading out behind it. Runa paused at the edge of the doorway, peering from behind the partial cover of the entrance, despite her invisibility as a ghost. Her heart resonated with the faint hush that seemed to surround the small but powerful girl, reminding Runa of the loneliness she sometimes felt. "She looks so... alone. Just like I felt before Daddy first saw me." She hovered there, torn between wanting to offer a friendly greeting and the lingering fear that she might startle the stranger.
Then the fox lifted its head, ears pricking as though catching a scent. Foxes were always known to have a connection to spirits, after all. Runa inhaled a sharp little breath, pressing herself against the wall. She could tell that the creature sensed her presence, even though she wasn’t trying to show herself. Her faint cerulean glow flickered in response, a mixture of surprise and awe. The last thing she wanted was to scare anyone, least of all a lonely girl and her companion. So she remained still, uncertain whether to reveal herself or slip away entirely.
"Can... she see me?" She wondered, looking at Yumi. Despite her trepidation, Runa felt compelled to stay. She hovered in the silent chamber, knowing that she was neither truly part of the world nor separate from it, and waited to see if the fox would reveal her existence or if her presence was too subtle a feeling to pin down.
