Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Kiri - On the Rise

Dropping Kinjutsu in this thread -> https://ninpocho.com/viewtopic.php?p=275662#p275662

Learning Contract Mastery:
RP: WC: 139
Maybe it was the need for a great improvement. Maybe it was the awareness that his lack of proper communication with his slug allies was becoming a problem that he needed to address. Whatever it was, Kiri was determined to live up to the hopes of Moro. He will not fail him and he would become a protector of Sayaka's Forest. As such, he would spend time to summon and figure out how to improve his compatibility and teamwork with his slugs. It wasn’t easy as he was used to fighting on his own, and always being aware of those near him made him feel a little uneasy. However as time passed, Kiri found a way to utilize their teamwork. Hunts became interesting, and his most recent task of dealing and treating the wounded during field combat went smoothly.

Dropping (using free dropping with the current patch):
- Mind Overflow
- Elementalist
- Quickdraw
- Combo Master
- Elemental Illusion
- Concentrated Focus
- Contract Master

This opens 7 Ability Slots, thus I'm learning the following
1.) Summoner (WC: 181)
Ever since the day he was able to summon his brohter’s soul into being – that is to say, to take shape and form with a mortal body– Kiri has been studying the proper way of applying his newly learn jutsu of resurrection (even if only briefly). With Hogosha’s guidance in his soulscape, he could practice the ritual and the mechanics of turning his chakra into an ample source of energy and catalyst for the transformation of matter and soul particles into the shape of living men. From there, he would often practice by applying what is learnt into the real world, trying to draw forth energy within nature itself, and then, by memory of warriors in Hogosha’s soul, he would shape the chakra into their spitting image before it begins to take form, resulting in the creations of beings that were once warriors in the distant past, ready to do his bidding. Of course, each time, he realised that the jutsu had limitations and so he would continue to train in order to lessen the limitations (if not, altogether remove them).

WC: 181
2.) Quick Reaction (WC: 163)
Anticipation is key to delivering the appropriate counter-attack. However, one’s senses and ability of foresight alone would not be enough. It requires the physical capability to perform the said actions, thus, Kiri knew he had to train his body harder. He needed to be faster, able to respond on a quicker note. Only then would he surprise the opponent. If done right, he can completely turn the tides of battle all around. As such, Kiri knew that he was slowly changing his fighting style.

Panting for a bit, before straightening his stance and wiping the sweat off his face with the back of his hand, he prepares again for another spur of a run around the training grounds. Bringing with him knowledge about parkour, he would jump, twist, turn, and make quick decisions at every instance as he ran faster and faster at every turn and corner. And by the end of it, he could widen his peripheral vision and make immediate responses.

WC: 163

3.) Will Power (WC: 255)
It takes more than simple meditation to overcome the hardest of trials. Kiri knew this much as he recalled all the trouble he had when he once faced and trained under Yuuto. The former Sennin was a specialist in genjutsu, and while Kiri was well acquainted with genjutsu, he was surprised by the alarming power of illusions when Yuuto used his expertise on him. It brought about his fears and manifested them in real life, and though Kiri may have navigated his way to overcome it, he had always been trying to hone his mind to become more perceptive.

But perhaps one of the best ways was to meditate within the realm of his soulscape. There, further into the depths of the white void, past the breaching of the scars, there he would find the sanctuary that as the ceremonial cavern. An underground cave of some sort, formed mostly by his memory as well as Hogosha’s, and the serene atmosphere of the place allowed him to connect better with his chakra’s innate nature. And at the very center was the altar site where he could feel a convergence of his chakra point and the world outside in the real world. It was a prime point of self-meditation, allowing his senses to get better hold of reality and his body to become strong enough against the invading illusions.

This, he did everyday for an hour or two, for not only was it training, but it allowed him to relax and have an intimate bond with Hogosha.

4.) Elemental Aura (WC: 1680
If there was something that Kiri learned when he had his power from the beast and his lineage of the Nara Bloodline, it was that there would always be ways to empower himself using an effective way of manipulating chakra. As such, he went back to training the flow of his chakra. For the most part, he was channeling his lightning jutsu using the flow of his chakra out from this body, from the center going to the periphery, like a veil that that wraps around him. At that moment, he would let his chakra form into the specific texture and intensity as his memory recalls of it, instantly forcing the chakra to bind itself with his body. Suddenly, Kiri would feel a release from the clutches of gravity, his body becoming light, and then his movements became sharper. With this, he continued his intensive physical training, only to realize that most of his other gravity jutsu were becoming more concentrated and accurate. He grins at this development.

WC: 168

5.) Deflection (WC: 223)
There was grace in getting hit during a fight. But there was also ridicule when one was simply caught offguard. Kiri had experienced difficult fights before, often than not spurred by the restless beast brother of his, and he would always get hurt in the process. However, now that he was more mature, having freed himself from the grasp of the raging curse, he could now find a different way to approach battles without having to be too reckless. In fact, this was a development that his brother, Eishin, had initiated. The one good thing about his soulscape was that Kiri could enter it and manifest his body where he could train physically and mentally though his real body would remain unmoving and perhaps sleeping in the real world. As such, it allowed him better ways of training his new fighting style.

And one particular style involved having to minimise the injury he would receive. This was essential in order for him train how to properly parry and counter. One should not be afraid to get hit and bleed, but there should be a certain amount of resistance and grace in order for the said hit not to become a detriment to his battles. Thus, he would continue to learn how to deflect and parry against his brother whom was the better fighter.

WC: 223

6.) Transmit Life (WC: 237)
Kiri may have suddenly realised that he had been neglecting how important it was to be a support during battle. Often than not, when he did medical emergencies, it was in clinics or the hospital. There was no need to be far removed from the patient. But in the battlefield, there would come a time when he would have to reach out for his allies and defend them, treat them, just as he vowed. As such, he began to pour his studies on the ways of enhancing his medical jutsu techniques. One way, he learned was to remotely transmit his healing chakra. While the idea of shooting out one’s chakra offensively to an opponent was now second nature to him, it was still a different matter altogether when it was about medical jutsus. After all, he needed to be careful, to be precises and to be sensitive with the amount of chakra and the manner of manipulation he needed to carry out. Often than not, touching contact was required to be effective. But the battlefield would not be so kind or considerate as a clinic. Thus began Kiri’s training to shoot out chakra that was meant for healing, to manipulate its intensity for regeneration rather than destruction, and for calming and defended, and no the constant chaos and relentless barrages he was known for. After all, he did aspire to be a doctor more than anything else.

[WC: 237]

7.) This remains unused as its part of my slots for the Kinjutsu

Switching Shinobi 101: Will Gen to Nin
to
Shinobi 101: Kin Gen to NIn
(WC: 165)
For a long time, Kiri had been training with his meditations. It was important to strengthen one’s mind, especially with the uses of genjutsu. Illusions had once been his main means of fighting. He used it together with his swordsmanship, allowing him to setup the battlefield in order to perform combinations with ease. Not to mention that they were also quite dangerous and formidable, especially against those who are not fully acquainted with illusions. With the recent trainings, he’d learnt that his forte was still with regards to Kinetic Genjutsu. While he tried to train illusions of the mind and vision, they weren’t as effective and compatible with him as his Kinetic Genjutsu. Though he had once abandoned those tricks in hopes of honing his newfound power, he had finally come to acknowledge that perhaps honing what he had always been more inclined at was far more productive. As such, he continues to train his mind and chakra in order to perfect his Kinetic genjutsu.

Cursed Weapon to be designated below: (will need approval as it is a new weapon)
[col]Ookanehira - (大包平)
Type: Unarmed (Handseals) & Cursed
Description: A specially forged tachi type katana replica of the exact same sword that Hogosha owned centuries before. Ookanehira's full length is 105cm with the blade at 89.2 cm. It's masterly crafted body has a curvature of 3.5 cm, allowing for maximum strength to be transferred when swinging, and having less friction with a smooth finish. The blade's width is around 3.7cm, giving it a distinct powerful cut each time, allowing aerodynamic movements and reduction of strength recoils and vibrations. The tsuba (crossguard) is a cross-shaped metal accessory made with superior iron for additional protection as well as securing the blade's connection with the hilt. The handle is actually black in color, though laced with white silk before it is capped with a similar strong metalwork pommel with a ring. The saya (scabbard) is a brilliantly red color with the upper portion having black textured fitting with white lacing cord just as the sword's handle. Thus, when sheathed, this creates an artistically balanced imagery.

Following the designs as instructed by Hogosha, the replica weighs 1.25kg and has been outfitted with custom nailings (along the handle for securing the sword such as the menuki). Lastly, with the ancient ritual memorised in Kiri's mind, accessible through Hogosha's soul, Ookanehira was purified upon completion before it was cursed with Kiri's chakra for days until the tachi would come to have the same presence as Kiri's curse, giving it a deadly sheen against the moonlight.

[col]Kogitsunemaru
Type: Unarmed (Handseals)
Description: The 115cm long tachi is made with a reconstructed design in accordance to the blueprint from Hogosha’s memory. It’s blade makes most of the length at 90cm, having an elegant and slim design with a straight hamon (or edge polishing). Its crossguard is a unique gold steel design creating a cross pattern when observed as a whole, unlike the circular encompassing crossguards of regular katana. Its handle is made of pearl shavings on tempered cedar locked onto the steel frame with golden pin nails. The pommel is made from the same gold steel and is jewel crested with a sapphire gem. A blue cord runs from the pommel adorned by a couple of beads. As for the saya (scabbard), it is made of tempered cedar wood and fortified with gold steel on the opening, the bottom, and around the body, as well as coated in the same gold steel paint. A singular black crest that belonged to Hogosha can be seen stamped on the body of the saya, which corresponds to its unique design.

Unlearning FE: Gloaming Chakra and Learning FE: Devil's Spite

Something felt strange. Kiri observed in his most recent training that his chakra flow was changing its nature the moment he releases them. It was almost as his own natural chakra was transforming into something unlike him. That bothered him slightly and though he was a bit busy with managerial duties and research studies for the hospital, he took some time to get in touch with Hogosha’s soul residing inside him. He needed to make sure that he wasn’t broken in any way, or else his connection with his souls would be threatened. Not to mention that he was still fairly new regarding what to feel or what to expect with his newly acquired power. It could very well just be a last spurt of puberty.

In any case, he would commune with the wise ancestor, accessing the deeper reaches of his soulscape to find the azure cave where the connection of his soul and the ephemeral world was at its highest bond. There, he would find Hogosha seemingly contemplating as he was watching over the glowing stone slabs. Kiri still didn’t understand exactly for what purpose those slabs were for, but he would ask that at another time. Instead, he would present him and his recent concerns, hoping to get a better understanding.

Regarding his changing chakra nature, apparently, because of the disappearance of the cursed beast, what had been his normal chakra flow had slowly been transforming to what should have been his natural chakra flow. This often showed in his sudden inability to control hid chakra or a spike in his senses. It was alarming at first, but then he was slowly getting used to it. However, now that he had Hogosha’s curse of the will, his chakra nature was changing further and this was clearly seen in his training. Often more devastating, and often more exhausting. Never the less, he was slowly getting the hang of it, and understanding the nature of the chakra allowed better control.

Unlearning "Duelist" and Learning "Cursed Seal"
RP: (WC: 581)
Years of hunting had been kind in Kiri’s growth. He knew that. It helped refine his strengths and technique, of which had resulted in his current form. From the days when he hunted with just his beast, to the recent ones when he would be on his own and no longer marked by the cursed beast, hunting had transformed from a need to release the pent up rage and energy of the beast into something of a meditative training. But now, he has learned of a different case. Hunting made him focus solely on the prey and with his recent trainings, he needed to expand his awareness. He would have to go beyond the limitations of a hunt and into a warfare that included all that he could offer.

As such, Kiri would learn from Hogosha one day about the means of how the Curse of the Will could be strengthened. One form was how his friend in the past, Ishikiri, had used an ancient sealing method to keep the souls in perfect condition– one that would transcend through time and space. But such methods would be considered the forbidden arts and so access to it would be scarce, if not at all completely denied. Still, it allowed Kiri to formulate a plan.

For the next few days, he would spend time in the archives of the library, searching through incident reports and using his connections with the Sentou to have the more classified cases. He was searching for any or all indications of a sealing technique that was used, from the normal chakra sealing ones, to the more complicated sealing of a jinchuuriki. Yes, there had been incidents in the past, him included, that had to be sealed and monitored. That much he was sure of. But details were still limited and so he would have to research further.

Junko once sealed him, and he had the knowledge and foundation of a strong clan, so Kiri would also seek help from the Tsuyoshi’s library, a vast collection of books from all fields. it would take Kiri weeks to finally gather enough resources and connect the details but he knew he was getting close. And when the next Full Moon arrived, he returned to the mystical lake– the part in the ancient forest where he could manifest his soulscape thanks to the concentrated energy from the moon that meets with the forest’s rich life and history. There, he would try to perform a sealing, a combination from his notes, the research, and the memory of Hogosha’s own sealing ritual. And since he wasn’t one to dabble with another’s fate, he could only try it on himself.

“Are you sure about this?” asked Hogosha.

“Definitely. It’s the only way,” said Kiri as he finished marking the seals on the ground before going to the center and began to gather his chakra. “I need to make use, even of my weakness in order to be stronger.” Waiting for a while, he would concentrate and cut a thin line along his palm with his kunai before he touched the ground and began to interact with the gathered energy. Slowly, he would feel the energy racing towards his open wound and the heat would emanate, sending a pattern through his arm, as if the blood vessels underneath his skin were aflame.

Before the night was through, Kiri would feel as though he had made a breakthrough, though he’ll have to test it some other time.

There was one gift that he learned when he had gotten himself lost in Leaf before. It was not that he earned the ire of Konohagakure, nor to be forcefully escorted back home. It was the bond that he made with a simply slug he met. That tiny creature was spirited despite his form and up to the very end, he cared for his comrades. He showed Kiri the act of kindness and loyalty that it would forever be part of his memories, long after Moro’s death. But perhaps in his own guilt to have not been able to protect the slug, Kiri hadn’t been calling onto the Slugs of Sakuna’s Forest lately. He had been too busy perfecting his new power that he was certain he wouldn’t have to put them in harm’s way. But that was stupid.

As such, Kiri finally gotten himself to return to meditating before he could connect his link with the realm of the Slugs of Sakuna’s Forest. Once established, he would finally train with them. Each of the warrior slugs had their own strengths and weakness, and so he played into them. Though it wasn’t easy as they would remind him just why they were so called warriors of the forest, Kiri was glad he was finally able to rekindle their bond– to grace his memory of Moro with such kindness. And so, even without his knowing, he was continually changing his own fighting style. Gone were the days when he had to rely only himself. Now, he had allies to trust and protect, and creating a firm foundation and trust was the first step.

It the recent fight with Junko, Kiri had proven that his need to train harder in the aspect of the sword was needed. Even if he was born into a family that was regaled as prodigies of the sword, he would still need to sharpen his blade. He simply looked ineffective when compared to the strikes that his father could do. But learning from the man as not enough. He began to train by combining the strengths of his chakra manipulation, allowing the energy flow of his body to converge with the appropriate muscle groups for each and strike. That was simply the beginning.

The next step was to enter in his soulscape. Who better to train with then the samurai who was famous for his swordsmanship in the past? Hogosha and his brother Eishin would gladly train him in the art of drawing the sword, from the fundamentals to the specialised. Kiri would learn both in his mind and in the real world. He would often summon Hogosha as they sparred in the coliseum’s training grounds. Each cut wound he earned was like a reminder of his negligence, but each strike he focused was a testament to his growth. If he could bare his fangs as a swordsman like Hogosha, he would no longer have to be someone who hid behind the power of his chakra alone.

Unlearning "Transmit Life" and Learning "Mind Overflow":
RP: 222WC
Training of the mind was always important. In the last fight with Junko, Kiri saw a flaw in his fighting capability. While he managed to grab hold of Junko into the trap of his strategy, he lacked the power to further the damage. If he was in his cursed state of the past, things would probably have been different, but that wasn’t the case. He saw that having lost the beast’s insanely powerful chakra, he lost a bit of his edge. For that, he would have to train harder to manipulate the chakra flow of his illusions. Of course, that would mean having to evolve from his current self, where he was focused too much on simply relying on his cursed damages. Certainly, the new power he acquired had given him a way to manipulate healing jutsu into deceiving negative auras that haunt his prey, but that should not be how he operates. Instead, he needs to remember that he was also a Mednin, and so his medical jutsu must also benefit others. Thus, a compromise was in order, and the end result was to strengthen his meditation in order to properly attune his chakra nature into what the situation appropriately needed. Only then could he truly say that he was on the way to forging as a better medical combat specialist.

Unlearning Elemental Aura and Learning Adrenaline Rush:
RP: 253WC
While it was true that his affinities for the elements have strengthened over the past months, he was still an infant in truly using them to do his bidding. Kiri needed a different approach to fully tapping into his potential. As it was, and though he miraculously survived the fight against Junko, long enough to actually get his father to listen and acknowledge him, Kiri saw another of the flaw in his new power, something that was not there when he would always be overwhelmed by the cursed beast in the past– his innate deadliness. He lacked the same accuracy and deadliness that the beast would always pull out from him, though maturity had thought him having better control was far better and could become the potential lethal ability. Still, Kiri saw that he would have to turn into something biological in order to create momentum without having to rely on situation. And it was rather easy, being a Mednin and all, to realise that he could manipulate his chakra flow inside him to tap the gates of his senses.
