Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

In an attempt to learn more about his Raikage, Kushin travelled to the countryside where he met with the giant named Akira Saito, the well known best friend of Shin. Not to raise suspicion Kushin paid for two small but long knives, liston knives, to be created. These blades would help him with his surgery, small and thin they would slice through flesh with ease, though the damage caused would be minimal. Perfect for operations, and perfect for precision strikes.

Akira created Chikouu and Maitami, two very different scalpels, but sisters. Maitami was larger, but due to the thin blade could break off easily within the patient. Chikouu was smaller but had an edge that hungered for blood. When Kushin was given the two weapons he trembled, had the man before him seen through him so easily. The white eye of the Hyuuga clan bore down on him, the passive stare of one who saw all but judged none.

Taking the weapons Kushin left. He'd not gained what he'd wanted, but perhaps he'd gained something more.

Each of these has been chosen as a representation of Kushin.

Strategist
Strategy and cunning are two words which go together frequently. They are also two words which would describe Kushin. His rise to Medical Sennin by way of having the previous Sennin not only stand down but have them then endorce Kushin's bid for the title showed this. Yet his strategy goes far and beyond what others might initially realise, for in this same example Kushin has made that same exSennin word directly under him in his most trusted group, the Harvesters. Kushin thinks beyond just the first and second stages of a conflict, but about the long run benefit of his actions.

Rank 3 (100 Stat Average. ): Allows up to 5 slots in the user's inventory to be Prepared

Note:
  • This does not give extra Inventory slots, it modifies existing ones.
  • Can prepare Exploding Notes and Microchakra Bombs prior to battle. (Applies to only one item)
  • Can use Jutsu Sealing to scribe Jutsu into Sealing Scrolls prior to battle. (Applies to only one scroll)
  • Can prepare a weapon, First attack done with the weapon is a free action and considered a Sneak Attack. This may apply to projectiles. (Applies only once)
  • Can poison a Puppet, this poisons all their physical Traps. Only one poison may be applied to a puppet using Prepared Slots. They cannot stack on the same puppet.
  • You may Pre-poison any Weapon with any Injury type poison prior to battle. This applies to the entire Item Stack, and only one poison may be applied to a weapon using Prepared Slots. They cannot stack on the same weapon.

Thick Blood
As a member of the Chigokai Clan's main house Kushin has shown skill and mastery over his own life essence. Kushin uses his blood frequently during medical procedures, sacrificing a part of himself to keep someone alive should they require blood to do so. Due to his clans abilities Kushin always felt that this control was a requirement, as the Chigokai Clan almost let their opponents tear their flesh so that their opponents know how it feels. This artform is well practiced, but Kushin doesn't believe that it has yet been truely mastered, for what if someone could be cut to the point where they should bleed, but not bleed, and then pass that cut on. Then they would truely be a master over their abilities.
Effect said:
  • +10% Bleeding Resistance.
  • Bleeding penalties are treated as one rank lower.

Quick Healer
With his belief of master (seen above) Kushin has made small alterations to his body. His blood is obviously his clans blood, but in it it carries a microbiological success of his own. Inserting cells from a plant known for its ability to regenerate damage caused to it constantly and quickly, Kushin found that the same could be done in animals. Not wanting someone else to receive these benefits before he could he tested it on himself, knowing he could simply irradiate himself should it fail. It didn't fail. Kushin now heals at a rate which goes beyond that of ordinary shinobi, allowing him to take pains which he can then pass on to those who give it to him.
Effect said:
  • The user regains 3% of their Max Hp each round.

Duelist
The lone wolf is a term often used to describe a social outcast, someone who is meant to be part of a pack but chooses not to be. Though Kushin has a family, and runs a branch, he does not like to be in the room with more than one person. He nearly never travels with a guard, and if he is with a squad then there's a reason for it. This is also how he likes to fight. One on one, no interference, just him and his opponent. In this environment he is stronger than most as he does not worry about his own existence. He knows he will not be missed when he does eventually meet his fate, but he'll make it as bloody and as tough as he can before that happens.
Effect said:
  • The user gains +2 dodge so long as they and the target attack only each other
  • While fighting one on one, the user's attacks have a 10% chance to auto-hit, overriding auto-dodge and auto-miss.

Quick Reaction
As part of his combat training Kushin has learned that sometimes a dodge can change the course of combat. Yet it's not just the act of your opponent missing which can change teh advantage, but the ability to react when they have missed. It is this tactic that Kushin has practiced to death, till he could call it a personal strength of his combat skills. When going into combat he will already be prepared for it, not only that, but in the moment when an enemy's guard is down he'll be able to strike, hard and decisively. Forcing a mistake to become more than a simple mistake, but a catastrophe, a battle winning moment in the course of the conflict.
Effect said:
  • If the user dodges an attack, the user may immediately counterattack the attacker with a Ninjutsu, Taijutsu or Basic attack at +2 Accuracy; the user pays all costs normally.
  • This action is modded immediately after the attack they dodged, can only target the attacker, and cannot be a bind.

    Notes:
  • This can only occur twice per round and may not be used in conjunction with the Teamwork ability.
  • An Ally can not set off the effects of quick reaction.
  • The user can not quick react and target multiple people, but may still use an AoE technique on a single target.

Deflection
Of course if you were going to rely on the ability of counterattacking as a means to change the tide of battle, then you needed to further increase your ability to dodge. Ninjutsu is Kushin's strength, it offers him many options in regards to dodging or throwing up a shield to block oncoming attacks. Taijutsu is an area that Kushin feels less comfortable with, and yet can see how the physical art could be so easily taken advantage of. It was this vision which led Kushin to train to deflect the weaker Taijutsu attacks opening his victims up for a vicious counter.
Effect said:
  • The user has a 10% chance to auto-dodge weapon attacks, including unarmed, aimed at them by deflecting them. This does not apply to C rank or higher Jutsu.

    Special Action: For .5 Ap, the user may use melee or ranged accuracy to attack a basic attack or called shot directed at them. This check is made at -2 Accuracy, and if successful, deflects it. If the user has any 'free' strikes they may choose to use this special effect instead of attacking.

Concentrated Focus
Another use for this counter attacking method that Kushin found was the ability to simply stop the fight for a moment. Binding an opponent was risky, they could force themselves out just when you didn't want them to and you couldn't attack them while they were bound. Kushin's mind doesn't simply figure out the issues he has with particular options, but he then goes about trying to figure out ways around these same problems. As it was with this one. Kushin found that with a certain level of concentrated focus that he was not only able to make his binds harder to escape from, he was also able to get off an attack while they were bound. Without doubt his ability wasn't perfected as he could only really manage this a couple of times a battle, but it was better than nothing.
Effect said:
  • The user's binds have a -5% chance of being escaped from.
  • The user may attack the target of their own bind -without- breaking the bind upon attacking; though it will still break once damage is dealt. This may only be done once per round, twice per battle.

Willpower
This concentration which he'd forced himself to learn to aquire an ability to overcome his binding issue had other side effects. Kushin's strength had never been Genjutsu, he wasn't bad with it, but none would describe his ability as particularly good either. The concentration it took to allow him to strike someone who was bound also allowed his cancel jutsu to become much more effective. Indeed there were times when, if he realised he was in a genjutsu, his subconcious could even just quickly flush his body with chakra, an automatic reaction which was particularly useful from time to time. In addition the performing of cancel seemed to be more effective than it once had been.
Effect said:
  • The Cancel Jutsu may now apply to Genjutsu of any level as long as the user is aware of it effecting them.
  • Cancel may automatically dispel Genjutsu up to level 5, and no longer has a penalty against higher level Genjutsu.
  • Cancel no longer requires handseals, and may be used as a free action once per round, twice per battle.

Human Anatomy
Through Kushin's medical shinobi training, one of the things he took notice of was the human anatomy. His interest in it took him by surprise at a young age, and he developed this knowledge through experiance and training. Eventually the specifics of even where bloodline clans special abilities were located became known to him through illegal autopsy after illegal autopsy. After this knowledge became second nature to him he noticed that when he attacked his mind automatically seemed to target the opponent critical areas, making his attacks substantially more damaging.
Effect said:
  • The user gains +1 Critical Range to all attacks.
  • All critical hits deal 2.25x Damage.
  • This does not stack with the Opportunist's Sneak Attack or the Hawkeye's Sniper abilities.

Transmit Life
Kushin's mastery of Ninjutsu is something to be marvelled. He has mastered every element that he has attempted to, and his mind hungers for more. In the case of Medical jutsu these are usually simply a ninjutsu which are cast through the hands. This gives them the precision they generally need to heal the wounded areas that they need to be affecting. Kushin has mastered his medical jutsu to a level that many other medical practitioners have also done, where he can transmit his jutsu over distances. Keeping himself maneuverable and capable of maintaining some form of combat was a massive advantage with this skill, in addition over time it also meant that he was more likely of hitting special locations with the techniques, which meant that his medical jutsu had a better chance of being more effective than normal.
Effect said:
  • The user is able to cast Medical Jutsu using Ninjutsu Accuracy.
  • All Medical Jutsu gain +1 Critical chance.

Blood

Kinesis
<i>
</i>

The ability to move things using his mind had always intrigued Kushin, it made things much easier, something which inspired most of his training in advanced elements. Being able to sit at his desk and pull books off of shelves from nearby walls without needing to get up was a benefit he couldn't pass up. It also meant that when conducting more scientific experiments he was able to perform more than one action at a time. The most beneficial use he came to was that no matter how steady his hands were, the kinetic abilities were steadier. This helped with surgeries, in particular the kinjutsu and bloodline removal surgeries.

One of the other medical shinobi in the hospital of a more advanced age and experiance than Kushin had at the time, used it. Interesting in this invisible power Kushin asked them about it. He wanted to know if it was some clan ability, some bloodline, or whether it could in fact be taught. The man told him that it was simply something which could be learned. However one needed to have mastery of the Fire element and some control over Wind. Kushin went away after this and trained in those elements. Slowly he began to master the fire techniques and relatively quickly he gained control over wind. He didn't just want some control over wind however, and he didn't return to the man until he had both completely mastered. Once he returned the man taught him how to blend them in the right proportions to create the kinetic style jutsu. It was after this that Kushin began using the Kinetic jutsu, and slowly his mind found more and more uses for it. He stumbled with it at first and there were many broken beakers and other glass objects. With time he learned precision though.

Paper
<i>
</i>

The art of Paper jutsu mastery was an unusual choice in many ways for Kushin. He already could move the sheets of paper around with his mind and thus he had the means to use paper as he wished. Yet this wasn't why he took aim at the element. Paper was a general part of Kushin's day. He worked with paper, filed paper, was surrounded by paper. Within his office it was a veritable fortress of paper. In Kushin's mind he took into concideration the destructive powers of the other elements if used within his room. Fire and lightning would destroy many documents, incinerating them forcing Kushin to lose potential knowledge. Blood and water would be just as damaging, yet their damage wouldn't be limited to documents, but blood would begin to smell, water would damage the walls making them damp and then rot. Earth would rend holes through the hospital and the least damaging jutsu's he could use would be Wind which would simply scatter documents everywhere or his recently learned Kinetic jutsu which at the time was the only other jutsu he had.

Yet if he learned paper then not only were the documents around him reinforced to a point where they wouldn't be damaged, but they would be able to be used as a weapon. One which most people wouldn't realise existed. Indeed, in his room, unarmed and unguarded an assassin may think he was limited with his defenses. Yet this concept of using paper jutsu would in fact mean that he would always be armed, he would always be surrounded with a means of causing death. And doing so without losing information or reports, which was a very important factor.

Finding that it took Earth and Lightning elements to create paper amused him a little as he wondered how Lightning contributed to the paper, but decided not to nit pick and instead went about his training in earnest. Once more he mastered both base elements and then went on to learn the paper jutsu.

Ink
<i>
</i>

Ink was the next most logical step for Kushin in his advanced element training. It had both use and gave him yet another weapon which was frequently nearby, though in his office this had the same negative effect as blood. However the idea that he could stand smugly and say "the pen is mightier than the sword" and then skewer the person with ink from that pen amused him enough to go about learning this element. It wasn't just that of course, the idea that he wouldn't need to worry about having to rewrite reports a hundred times because he's made a spelling error, or something of the like was equally enticing.

These thoughts in mind he went to the Library where he'd spent his time learning Ancient Kumogakure, both the vulgar and the classical languages during his years as a trainee, both for ANBU and Medical, and as a mednin. He'd figured that there was a good chance that the librarians knew the technique and could let him know how to master it. When he found one who did they told him that he'd need Lightning and Wind. Once more he chuckled, who would have thought that something which came out of the earth would need two things which didn't exist in the earth at all. It was a crazy world.

It did give Kushin a bonus though. His hunger for jutsu mastery had been rising, and this gave him an excuse to master the Wind element as well. This would make him a master of all the five main elements, he was already a master of Medical jutsu as well as well versed in those jutsu known as Non-Element, which meant that this would bring him close to perfecting his abilities as a ninjutsu shinobi. Kushin learned Wind, and then quickly mastered Ink, yet it was the next element which held his interest.

Radiation
<i>
</i>

Radiation was finally an element which came to him through his work. It was a little known element, and one which wasn't well practiced, even in Kumogakure which had many world famous medical shinobi. Yet it had medical properties, ones which Kushin could see. Yes it was used at the time to break down chakra, and it was also known to have poisonous effects. But it killed anything it targeted. Anything! Which when you could target very small precise things had a use to more than simply killing another shinobi. Though that was also useful. For Kushin that was the least useful attribute the element had. He found that shinobi who had been killed with radiation jutsu were useless to him. Fantastic element if you were an ANBU and simply wanted to destroy anything so that enemy villages couldn't recover anything of value, terrible if you're a Mednin who wants to recover anything of value.

So he knew it needed to be mastered, beyond that of which the general shinobi populace used this jutsu for. Through his practice of it he found other useful functions. He could activate the ability to xray someone, allowing him to see them much like how he imagined a Hyuuga could see someone, an attribute he'd long been jealous of, which allowed him to perform his surgeries much better. He could target the location of whatever problem directly, not having to search through organs trying to find one which was busted.

This element turned into his more prized jutsu. The functionality of it combined with its almost limitless potential for destructive power were wonderful. He just always had to make sure that he wouldn't do anything damaging to any organs that he wanted harvested after the person was dead. Small cancers were now treatable and poisons which caused death could be neutralized.

Notes:
- The first effect takes effect at any time when the player is entering the thread (Eg. Mednin is 1 round into entering the thread and in the second round a member of their village drops to below 50% of their Max Hp, the Mednin will join 1 round early).
- The second effect may not be used on jutsu that are being maintained or used offensively.

I'll spend 75 of my Capped points on +1 Ability slot (will be noted in next training)

Combat Instinct
Kushin wasn't ever one to go about looking for a fight. Searching for fights was what weak men did to prove they were strong men, they would seek out the fight because that way they could pick the weak. Kushin was the one who would look weak, but then break those who claimed strength. It wasn't because he enjoyed doing so, but because they would see him, see his thin arms and weak body. They would recognize him as the nerd who studied and studied. They would hear of the others who had attacked him and lost and laugh at those who lost and assume them to be weaker still. To Kushin, they were beneath him.
To this day Kushin only goes to a fight to remove those who threaten the village. Though his methods may be similar to those bullies of old he does more research and has more criteria for them to fill. Youth were never weak. Poorly cared for they could become weak, but the young were sponges, clay to be shaped into a strong form. Bake them under the right temperature and they harden, the wrong temperature and they crack or are left soft on the inside. It was the Chuunin who were worthy of being judged, and Kushin had a natural ability to see the weak for what they were and remove them from the dna pool.
It was a natural combat instinct. One Kushin frequently was thankful for.

Jutsu Expansion

His knowledge of Ninjutsu was nearly unrivaled, if not in Kumogakure, but in the whole of the shinobi world. Of course he was unaware of this, yet it didn't stop his continued advancement along this pathway. The usual limit to how strong jutsu could be was a limit which Kushin needed to surpass. There were those who would train this by recasting and recasting, pouring more and more chakra into a jutsu to enlarge it, to make it stronger. Kushin wouldn't lower himself to such a method. Instead he studied others through the eyes of a Hyuuga. Watched how chakra mixed with the handseals evolved a jutsu. This was how he realized what handseals, how much additional chakra would enable him to make a larger stronger jutsu. The difference between what effects he wanted to achieve with an improved stronger jutsu was all to do with the handseals he needed to use. After this it was about turning it into a secondary act, something he could do subconsciously and automatically whenever it was that he needed it.

This would come with time and training, use of this skill. He hoped of course that he would never need it in combat, combat wasn't what he desired, others did the fighting for him, that was how he liked it. But there were always those times when you couldn't avoid it, as he'd found recently in Leaf Country. When he'd been attacked there, that was when he knew he needed to be more powerful, more destructive.

Unlearning Elementalist and Combat Instinct.

Studying in his lab gave Kushin time he normally didn't allow himself these days. It seemed forever ago when he'd been a mere Chief who worked in the shadows to do with his research on Kinjutsu, creating his own group of loyal followers, each of whom were loyal only because without him they wouldn't exist, and to betray him meant that same fate.

Back then he'd needed to be cleverer than he was now. He needed to be because if he wasn't then he could have been imprisoned, or if caught by a trigger happy ANBU, killed. Now however it was different. His reputation amongst the shinobi of the village made him out to be some almighty power of the village, which he was sure he wasn't.

------- 1 Unlearned -------

His reputation being like this however had both good and bad consequences. Firstly he was usually untroubled by people wanting to fight him, indeed it meant people typically avoided it at all costs due to the more bloodthirsty aspect of the reputation. However the downside meant that he knew he was under constant surveillance by not just a single ANBU.

He'd found their cameras set up all through his office and hospital. Not just the standard ones which normally operated, but hidden ones deliberately placed for him. It seemed whenever he took a different route to avoid them they would change position, or more be added. They couldn't hide them any better, because they were well hidden and Kushin was sure he didn't see them all. But still, they hindered him in his work quite regularly.

------- 2 Unlearned -------

Replacing with: Insight and Jutsu Mastery

Insight:

Seeing the hidden cameras was something he did require doing. After all not everything he did even as a Sennin were approved of. He'd had everything legalized that he needed legalized. For example the ability to take what he wanted from who he wanted if they were dead. He didn't need clan approval, didn't require any documentation other than his own to enable that. And so that was what he did.

The issue was that at times the patient was probably able to be kept alive. They would become a drain on the village, unable to operate as a shinobi and unwilling to go through the Kinjutsu operations required to enable this aspect. Then they lived on the streets, or on the military allowance granted to retirees taking money away from where it would be better and more usefully being spent. Yes he respected their work when they had been shinobi and he respected what they'd done for the village. But why taint it by ending it in that way?

Jutsu Mastery:

Finding places where he could take the patient and have them disappear effectively was what he required. Jutsu were becoming more and more a part of how to manage it. His mastery over Ninjutsu was only ever growing and he did enjoy playing practical jokes on the ANBU when he could. Sending them on missions to find Kushin when he could be up to no good, but sending them in the wrong direction. It was often as simple as using electrical jutsu to short circuit a camera, but doing so without them noticing he was doing it was the tricky part.

So many things that he needed to still take into consideration.

He couldn't let himself relax, couldn't let himself get soft. He needed to refine himself, make himself ever better, ever improve. Increase his knowledge constantly.

The heart stopped beating before him. Curses. Another failure.
