Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

"Psssshhhhht..."

A sound reminiscent to a horse neighing echoed throughout the night air, causing slight concern in some of the passersby. Its source? A boy with rose-colored hair who looked to be in his late teens, seated on a rooftop in the center of Sunagakure. It was a relatively low building, only two stories in height. His location explained why nobody had realized where the peculiar noise came from. He had scaled the structure -no chakra- with relative ease due to his monkey-like agility. And now he was just...sort of sitting there. Pouting about something from the looks of it. "This..." a lone word escaped the boy's mouth, trailing off before he could say anything else. Who was he even talking to? "...is..." 'This is' what? Maybe there was somebody up there with him he was having a conversation with? "...sooooo-" Seems like a somewhat coherent sentence was starting to for-

"BORING!!!" ...boring?! His time in the village had been anything but! Apparently helping bring down an ancient terror that returned from beyond the grave to wreak havoc on Suna wasn't exciting enough. Or rather, the thrill had subsided since. Honestly this kid was tough nut to figure out. The shout startled some civilians below and made them speed up their shuffling to-and-fro. Afterwards a long exaggerated sigh sounded out, followed by the boy forming fists with both hands and bringing them up to rest his face on. He needed something to do! Gun had been gone since they entered the village and his grandfather disappeared too, leaving him with only the promise of some "training" in the next couple of days. It made him shudder just to think about. Where were all the strong people? The oddballs? The Kage? Anybody?! He couldn't even pass the time by stuffing his face since he'd JUST eaten an enormous meal (and subsequently ran out on the bill...). Was there anything fun to do around here?

For a moment, the thought of his home flashed across his mind. Water Country...reduced to an over-sized Popsicle stand in moments. It was the reason him and Gun were travelling all over, doing their damnedest to rally support for a mission to unfreeze it. Earth Country was a bust...so they wound up here instead. The only person of influence they had met thus far was Byakko Kyuji, and he was too busy with his medical duties to aid in their quest. If he really thought about it...he hadn't seen anybody from Kirgakure since the incident. Kudaranai and Mumu sure...but they were MIA as well now. Last he heard Yama was in Earth Country, but they didn't run into him at all last time they were there. Regardless of whether or not they were successful in gathering help, he was most certainly going to return to his home. He had made a promise to the thing that froze it...one he intended to keep. If he had to march back there and kick its ass all by himself, then that's exactly what he was going to do! Y'know...eventually. But for now? He just wanted something to do while he waited for his grandpa. Otherwise he was bound to die from boredom!

Probably...

Koji walked slowly from the gates of Sunagakure to the area where he currently was located. As he passed through the areas to get to this one, even though he went as straight as he could from the gates. It had been a while until he decided to sit down on some stairs leading up to a building before grabbing some clay he kept in a pouch and carried with him nearly all the time. He currently wore a dark blue overcoat, a red hooded shirt, as well as a pair of jeans and some boots. As for the clay, he kept it in a pouch that was attached to his belt that he wore.

He would put some of the clay into the palm on his left hand as his right arm was bandaged, from his shoulder down to his hand to its entirety. The rest of the clay that he had grabbed, he had started to sculpt the clay as he started to infuse some of the clay with chakra. It didn't take him long to finish the sculpture. He had made a small bird that he remembers having seen around Kirigakure before it had frozen over. However, it wasn't long after finishing the sculpture did he almost drop it from hearing someone shout a single word. Making sure the sculpture was fine and undamaged, he'd look around towards where the sound came from and looked at the roof of the building that he was facing. It might have been night but he could tell that it was a guy and that he had... pink hair...

"You up there, what are you doing up there?" He'd ask, as the mouth on his palm was finished with infusing chakra to the clay it had been given to chew on, and the white haired man had subconsciously adding the chakra infused clay to the bird he had sculpted. A few moments would pass as the bird started to act as if it was alive, taking flight and quickly landing on Koji's shoulder. "Why don't you come down here since shouting at night isn't something I care to do..." He'd say loud enough for the guy to hear.

[Sorry for how this post turned out, I was almost done with it when my computer decided to freeze, making me lose the post.]

"Eh?" the boy vocalized, obviously confused as a voice called out to him. He remained seated in his cross-legged position on the edge of the building's roof, but his gaze drifted downwards to the street. After a few seconds of looking around he spotted the culprit; a white-haired man seated on a set of stairs that belonged to the building opposite his. The boy arched an eyebrow as he stared at the man. There was something familiar about him...like he knew him from somewhere. No, it wasn't him. It was...

That bird!

Being an expert in Water Country's flora and fauna meant that he could instantly recognize the avian. Sure the color was a strange off-white...but the features were unmistakable! He had seen this particular species of bird many a time. So using his uncanny skill in deduction, he was able to tell that this man had at least been to Kirigakure before, if he wasn't a permanent resident before the freeze happen- "Nothing." 'Nothing' was right. Not only was it his response to what he was doing up on the roof, it was the exact amount he was able to glean from observing the man. Absolutely nothing. He was no animal or plant expert! And he certainly wasn't sharp enough to memorize aspects of a certain species of bird! Maybe someone a little less oblivious might've recognized the clue but definitely not him. Instead he just continued to sit there, a puzzled look on his face as he kept right on staring at the man below. Who was this guy? And why was he so nosy?

...and bossy! Another shout came his way, this time about how he should come down there because he didn't like yelling. This caused the rose-haired boy to frown slightly and puff up his cheeks. If there was one thing in this world he hated more than anything, it was being told what to do. Especially by some stranger! Sure it'd be the polite thing to do...and screaming back-and-forth from the top of a building to the ground probably wasn't the best way to communicate...but he still didn't like it, damnit! "You come up here!" was his response, the youth crossing his arms afterwards. If the guy wanted to chat so bad he could make the journey up. It wasn't that high...only two stories. Twenty feet give or take. Any decent climber could scramble up here no problem...or maybe he had a better way to travel?

The white haired man continued to look up at the pinked haired kid, or at least he seemed to be a kid compared to him, probably anyway. He'd blink as the guy had replied to his first question with 'nothing'. That wasn't really the answer he was hoping for as he expecting something more than simply nothing at all. But he did ask. Ah well. However, when the guy replied to his statement to come down so they weren't yelling around the buildings for little reason, he'd growl ever so slightly to himself. The kid yelled back at him to go up there. He'd sigh deeply this time before standing up and snapping his fingers just after the bird had moved from his shoulder and onto the ground, only a few feet away from him.

The moment that Koji had snapped his fingers, smoke surrounded the bird and dispersed quickly to reveal that the bird had grown in enough size for him to properly stand on it along with it to fly with him on it. It didn't need to go far after he actually did step onto it and flew into the air, just far enough for him to get onto the roof. As he stepped onto the roof next to the pink haired kid, the bird would go back to the ground and start pecking at it. "Ya'know, you're such a child..." He'd say, examining the area from the new height, granted they weren't that high off the ground, but still, higher than being on the ground. "Are you from here, or are you from somewhere else?" He'd ask, before looking down towards the kid as he stood next to him.

A ninja POOF! appeared, engulfing the man and his bird. When it finally dispersed it had grown severalfold, and was now large enough that the guy was standing atop it! "WOAH!~" the rose-haired youth's childlike demeanor was on full display, his poutiness from just a few seconds ago disappearing almost completely once he saw the creation. It flapped its large wings, allowing it to ascend parallel to the building. He continued to sit and stare, like a kid on Christ-...Kami-mas morning. "How'd you do that?" He was honestly astounded. Sometime long ago he'd done battle with a Toujigikou, but he didn't really have time to see the techniques the guy was performing firsthand. Ninjutsu was amazing stuff. Every time he saw it up close it blew him away. Honestly speaking, the kid was completely ignorant of it. His control over his own chakra was so laughable that he couldn't even pull off the simplest of ninja arts. Not to mention the fact that he was far too simple-minded to craft an illusion, believable or not. Sure he had some more advanced techniques in his arsenal that he had access to...but those were -for all intents and purposes- his Kekkei Genkai. It was almost second-nature to him!

After the guy stepped out onto the roof he made a comment about how the youth was a child, to which he ignored. Or rather, he was so encapsulated by the moving sculpture the man's words failed to penetrate his thick skull. Believe it or not? He wasn't the first person to ever point this fact out. It was absolutely accurate by the way. Between the carefree attitude, non-existent manners, selfish tendencies, and penchant for getting into mischief? He was a regular toddler! It usually made for a good laugh though. Y'know...usually. It seemed like the boy was going to be solely focused on the animated clay for the rest of the night. He was pretty easy to entertain...and this was just crazy! But when the man posed his next question, the youth snapped out of it almost immediately. The subject of his home seemed to capture his attention rather nicely, if not make him super serious all of a sudden. "No." he began, shaking his head for emphasis. Wind Country was nice and all...but there's no way he could live here! It was way too hot. "I'm from Water Country." Now normally, when someone asks a question such as this, the polite thing to do would be to return the question upon them. Right? It's just the kind thing to do right?

That was not what the rose-haired boy did.

Instead his eyes widened as he noticed something about the man. A finger came up to point at his bandaged arm, and he rather bluntly asked, "What'd ya do to your arm?" It was...kind of amazing really. He had no sense of normalcy! Like a kid raised by wolves...or more accurately, a kid raised in the wilderness by an uncle who had a penchant for punching him. Once the puzzle pieces started coming together it all started to make sense...

The day had been long passed, allowing the young Karu embrace the refreshing air- For what it was worth. Since the incident it had never really been the same, a plague perpetually afflicted his system but never killed him. Like constantly fighting the worst flu you could concoct dying at the door of death- but never granted the sweet release. No instead, you cry in agony while grasping for air that isn't clogged from a viral fluid that had taken over the functions of your body and organs. It was a disgusting mess- he knew it and had only to accept it, why? Because it wouldn't let him die either way.
And so there he was slumping through the streets of night. It was better this way, the boy wasn't exactly normal looking anymore. Sure, he wore normal clothes, had normal-ish hair, the physical attributes of normality. But he wasn't truly normal, at night it made it much harder to notice. But stare for a few moments and you will see that he is layered in what appears to be a viscous, transparent green fluid; while it's not easily identifiable- If at all, the fluid strongly resembles what would be 'snot' or a gooey-substance outside of science fiction and fairy tales. The whites of his eyes had hued to a pale sickly-green and the iris's that once were a beautiful ice-blue; have degraded into a sharp yellow- that looked far from 'natural'.

The scuffling sounds of his feet dragging against the ground every inconsistent step count. His body didn't move like it was happy to, there were pained sounds that escaped him when the goo hadn't blocked his air passages, through the nose or throat. While either hand was fitted uncomfortably in the lab-coats pockets his expression told a story of an unfortunate event. However, when spoken- his tone still carried some lifted enthusiasm; despite the circumstances.
"What'd ya do to your arm?" came the sound of a familiar voice. A sensation of relief and curiosity overcame his mind with a brief scan of the horizon- A few moments passed to the boy until he realized the sounds of the voices weren't from the streets but, up. And so he tilted his head upwards, catching sight of the seated teenager and the much older standing. Squinting in the darkness- It wasn't hard to identify Keiatsu when he wasn't trying to guise himself. But the other he couldn't place a finger on. But if Keiatsu was fine with him, he imagined the other wouldn't be horrible. Or at least, he gambled on it.
Making his way as quietly as he could- Which wasn't, the slap-snapping sound of the viral fluid sticking to the ground and breaking when Karu pulled his feet away far enough... It was a pretty gross sight, sound- And smell; he didn't take into account the later. For what he had to live with perpetually became accustomed too. Not everyone else was so 'fortunate'.

Rushing up to the building he slapped the flat of his foot to the wall as a churning hum of chakra flowed to the base and gave him passage to break the laws of gravity for a few moments of draining energy. Wandering upwards to the top of the roof- Leaving the trail of disgusting footsteps behind him. Thankfully the fluid would eventually evaporate in an hour or two and none-the-wiser. The poor sops that had to deal with it now would be forced to smell it if they were within' a few yards. Upon arriving to the top- the unbearable smell would become even more obvious as to the source. To a happily waving Karu, as he looked expectantly to Keiatsu.

"Heya Keiatsu~! They let me outta' the hospital!"

Silence.

Fine! Not like he really wanted to know about his arm anyway. Luckily the conversation would be saved from its awkward pause by what sounded like someone suction-cupping up the side of the building. The rose-haired youth arched an eyebrow at the noises, looking to the side of the building where it was coming from. His nose detected a foul smell far before he heard these sounds, but it was only after the stranger was up on the roof with them that he managed to put two and two together. A, sickly-looking Karu greeted him, waving as he spoke. His appearance was uh..."unique" to say the least, so even though the youth had a horrible memory, he recalled him with no trouble at all. "Oi!" In an instant he hopped to his feet, a grin on his face as he began to approach his slimy friend. "Uh..." he stopped once he stood beside Karu, a distressed look on his face as he closed his eyes and began to think. It almost seemed like steam was coming out of his ears... "...Karo!" Did he had no trouble remembering? I meant a bit. Regardless the youth let out a laugh, bringing a hand up to give the Sunan Genin a friendly slap on the back. "How's it going?"

...unfortunately this also coated his hand in whatever substance the boy was pumping out of his skin. He didn't seem to mind that much however, as he grinned, obviously happy to see his buddy once more. It had been awhile since that whole Cavern incident. Karu definitely got the bad end of that deal, what with the entire makeup of his body being transformed. Couldn't have felt good...and it certainly didn't look too healthy. Still, he was out and about now, so he must've been doing okay at least. Right?
