Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Claiming Fire as a Free Major (S-Rank); Water as a Free Minor (S-Rank); Lightning and Wind as earned Minors; Shadow, Plasma, and Kinesis as earned Advanced Elements; and Wood as a Free Advanced Element (Shinobi 101: Ninjutsu)

Major Element: Fire
Minor Element: Water, Lightning, Wind
Advanced Element: Shadow, Plasma, Kinesis, Wood

Claiming the following abilities, aside from the free ones (Kinjutsu, Shinobi 101):
[spoilername="Recharge"]It was natural for Muji to be a magnet for chakra. Every part of his existence was either focused of or comprised of the art of chakra and its own existence. He was labeled Chakra Attuned for his affinity to the energy, and his heritage as a Rikudo Sennin granted him even higher mastery over the chakra. His very ancestor was the original Sage...the man who created ninjutsu and first mastered chakra. That said, it was natural that Muji possess numerous forms of absorbing or draining chakra from his opponents, manipulating their very essence as if it were his own. What wasn't expected, however, was that his body would seem to evolve to this effect. When an opponent's ninjutsu would impact, Muji could feel his body automatically absorbing some of the chakra present in the jutsu. No handseals, no force...his body naturally knew to breathe in some of the natural energy that it had such a powerful affinity for...

Amused and intrigued, the young master accepted this revelation as further proof that he was meant to be a Sage in the measure of the first. The one who mastered chakra and created the art of ninjutsu, the God of Shinobi as he was named, had passed down his power to Muji. And Muji would evolve this power even further.

[WC: 218]</B>[/spoilername]
[spoilername="Clarity"]Onamuji had a natural calm and nonchalant demeanor that put him in stark contrast with some of his peers. They were usually the typical grim and strict shinobi, the sort of shinobi one would naturally imagine. He, however...was not that sort of shinobi. Yet still, he was an enigmatic individual. For all his seemingly casual and harmless appearances, he was a man of great clarity and wisdom. Even when he seemed uninterested in any given situation, his mind was fully capable of recognizing the truth of things. He was, after all, considered a noteworthy mind of the village, and the typical illusions and tricks weren't as effective on him. Muji, the young Sage who seemed more interested in simple things, was actually a very keen mind. It often led to his advantages in battles against opponents who attempted to use Genjutsu against him. Ever confident, they would use their tricks and assume Muji would fall prey...and he would let them believe it, not hinting that he saw through the illusions until it was too late for them to react.

While admittedly not immune to such attempts, his clear-thinking and analytical mind enabled him to see through trickery and deceit where those without such foresight would fall prey.

[WC: 206][/spoilername]
[spoilername="Fearless"]One of the traits that did fall in line with his nonchalant persona was his oddly unshakeable fearlessness in the face of death. Whether due to his familiarity with the subject, or because he was - like all Rikudo Sennin before him - more than just a body, was hard to tell. Regardless, he stood firm in the face of death on countless occasions, whether to his benefit or harm. Naturally, being unafraid removed the natural purpose of fear in humans...self-preservation. Fear, for all its negative connotations, was a good thing. It was hard-wired into humanity to keep them from walking off cliffs or standing in fire, or to shock them into avoiding snakes and keeping their hands out of drawers full of sharp objects. Muji, though not to such a mindless extent, wasn't possessed of the concept of fear.

He would not run from an intimidating opponent, and he did not fear pain. The purple-eyed Sage always stood his ground, for better or worse, and whenever an enemy would try to frighten or manipulate his mind, they would be met with failure. Muji felt no fear, and impending attacks were nothing to shake him from any given path. Even the greatest attempt to force him to remember what "fear" was would forever be in vain...he was, truly, fearless.

[WC: 218][/spoilername]
[spoilername="Insight"]A veteran, despite his relatively young age, of numerous battles and conflicts, Onamuji is no stranger to the concept of strategy and subterfuge. He knows to keep an eye open, and keep it wide, lest an opponent get the drop of him. Where some would see a flock of birds moving through the forest, Muji would know that something likely disturbed those birds, and it was wise to take heed and plan accordingly. Where some would ignore an odd scattering of leaves on a given path, Muji knew to throw a rock. It was easy to lay a trap in a used path, even easier to cover it in an attempt to catch a victim off-guard and end a conflict without risk. Against a man with the insight and instinct to catch such attempts before they come to fruition, however, they are often foiled.

With all his successes and failures, and outings into dangerous realms, his mind was honed to recognize and watch for such attempts. He thought where others assumed; and it was this sharp mind that saved he or his group from sudden death or an embarrassing defeat. It was this trait that made him an invaluable part of any team. Anyone could throw a punch, but it was the ones with the intellect and forethought to recognize the hidden punches that made all the difference.

[WC: 227][/spoilername]
[spoilername="Jutsu Mastery"]For every hundred average men, there was one exceptional one. This was true for all things, from fishermen to samurai. In the world of shinobi, it seemed all the more noticeable. Onamuji, for all else in his life, was one such exception. From a young age, he was able to control his chakra - even without real training. By the time he was a Genin, he was able to utilize jutsu more efficiently that the rest of his peers, and some of his teachers and captains were even at a loss as to how he was able to form chakra and use jutsu the way he did. Beyond his abnormal chakra and his innate power, Muji seemed to have a natural talent for jutsu. His handseals were more fluid, his preparation took less chakra, and his execution was flawless. What would drain a normal Genin seemed to have only a minor cost on Muji.

Later in life, he would discover his ancestry and his relation to the fabled "God of Shinobi"...the man who created ninjutsu in the first place. Whether by heritage or by coincidence, it was no falsehood to say that when it came to using jutsu, Onamuji was a master in every sense of the word.

[WC: 207][/spoilername]
[spoilername="Elementalist"]If you were to ask Onamuji what separated shinobi from the rest of humanity, it would be an obvious answer. When the first Rikudo Sennin created the school of ninjutsu and became the "God of Shinobi", he created shinobi themselves, effectively forming a new branch of humanity. The main difference that separated them? Their mastery over the elements. There were, of course, shinobi who focused on taijutsu and genjutsu as their weapons, but ninjutsu and the elements were what Muji considered to be the real force of a shinobi. And in line with this thinking, it was his primary focus in life. Whereas many shinobi were able to harness one or two elements and their combining factors, he - like the Sage before him - had a knack for manipulating all the basic elements of nature. Fire bowed to his will, wind blew as he commanded, water moved where he beckoned, earth parted when told, and lightning flashed as he wanted it to.

There were tricks to it, as most advanced shinobi knew. A person with complete mastery was able to form their element according to their will, making jutsu stronger or using them with less effort. Onamuji, unlike most shinobi, knew how to use elements to their greatest potential, forming them as he wished, and with fewer handseals. The elements, not swords or trickery, were his realm. And he was firmly in command.

[WC: 234][/spoilername]
[spoilername="Strategist"]While it was the leaders who took the praise and glory in times of war, every man knew that it was usually those far beneath him that made any glory possible. The soldiers were the ones fighting and dying on the front lines, shedding their blood for the dream of their leaders - whatever that dream might be. However, it was another caste that made it all happen: the strategist. The leaders made the decisions, while the soldiers carried out the decisions...yet the strategists were the ones who planned and manipulated to ensure that these decisions met their desired end.

Onamuji was one such man. Far from being a leader of high renown, and hardly a soldier save for his strength in battle, he was a gifted strategist. His keen intellect, as hard as it was for most to recognize outwardly, allowed him to analyze and break down most situations with ease and determine a course of action. Many of his battles were won before a single exchange, his opponents' fates sealed as soon as his mind had determined the method to defeated them - all before the battle began. Perhaps it was this analytical and rational thinking that developed his eternally-nonchalant attitude, giving him the "everything can be handled" mentality that he carried at all times. Regardless, it was undeniable that in the realm of battle, he was a man to guide its course and plan around his roadblocks...

Minor Elements, as well as Wood element apporved. For the other AE',s youll have to post a 300 word RP about how Onamuji learned to control them. Sorry for the inconvinience

You should be! How dare you require me to meet the requirements that I forgot about!
[spoilername="Shadow"]Every shinobi had numerous tools at their disposal, to allow them leverage or options in whatever situation they found themselves in. Some relied on ninjutsu, some relied on genjutsu, some used their fists, and some used good old-fashioned weaponry. It was said, however, that every shinobi had one weapon in common: the shadows. They were, by their nature, a caste of assassins, spies, and special agents of a sort. Subterfuge was as basic to them as breathing. In Onamuji's case, this was meant literally.

Often, advanced shinobi who possessed a natural affinity for more than a single element would find that their command of the elements allowed them to merge the two into something else entirely. When Muji found that the light of fire could form with the fluidity and light-absorbing capacities of water, he also found that the shadow could be controlled as an element itself. It relied on light sources and energy, yet moved like water - flowing and washing over where it may. This provided a very effective weapon, and an immensely useful tool. He could control the shadows of others to form physical ties, or even merge himself into shadow itself to hide, travel short distances, or dodge an attack. While some basic elements had very limited uses, despite some inherent tricks and effects, the shadows granted the power to bind, harm, protect, or even force an opponent into a vulnerable state.

While he knew his ancestors, the Sage of the Six Paths himself especially, were natural masters of the five elements...it made Onamuji wonder whether or not they ever discovered the various new elements that came from combining any given two. A shame if they didn't, because power over shadow itself was a mastery that granted a whole spectrum of uses that any shinobi would find an advantage in. While the five elements were the basis of all things in the world, their children elements were intriguing in their own right...

[WC: 324][/spoilername]

[spoilername="Plasma"]Another such child element, formed by the essence of other elements, was what came to be known as "plasma". It was a strange thing, hard to explain and even harder to imagine. Fire was raw energy, burning and relatively chaotic. Lightning was pure energy, focused and fast. Plasma, oddly enough, was made by combining fire and lightning to form a raging form of energy not quite either.

Onamuji, the Rikudo Sennin who prized mastery over the elements above all things, was naturally attuned to the element of fire. It was when he began training his focus with lightning that he came across the birth of the plasma element. Naturally, he was amused beyond words. To him, ninjutsu was his power and his heritage. To be able to discover elements beyond the primary five was an exciting thing, and it made him feel almost as if he was continuing the work of his Rinnegan-granting ancestor, the Sage of Six Paths.

With a little practice, Muji found the uses of plasma, burning and searing both the body and chakra of his opponents. He was skeptical at first that such a strange element would be of much use in a practical battle, but was pleased to find that it would be quite the weapon when used appropriately. His skepticism didn't last long, obviously. Soon, he was spending a good amount of time testing and developing his ability to conjure the element without forcing it. To be a true sage, all elements at his disposal had to be second nature to him - as familiar as swinging a sword to a samurai, or as casting a net to a fisherman.

Eventually, the unruly energy became a simple thing to master. Once he had the form and feel of it, it wasn't such a chaotic thing to govern. It would be his sword, as the rest of the elements were.

[WC: 312][/spoilername]

[spoilername="Kinesis"]Some elements, it seemed, were far more abstract than others. Fire had its flames, water had it's body, earth had its surfaces and spikes, lightning had its bolts, and wind had it's movement. Everything was simple for the common man to envision. Even things such as metal or shadow were basic understanding. Everyone knew what metal and shadow were. When Onamuji discovered the element of Kinesis, however, he found something far harder to explain than both.

After mastering lightning as an element, he began ensuring his control over wind. It was extremely useful, and a basic element of the world that had countless applications in and out of battle. It battered the structures of mankind, decided the fate of those who sailed upon the sea, and wore away at the earth. It was a moving force. When energy, fire to be precise, was combined with the movement of wind, it created a strange child. Kinesis, it was called, the force that moved things through energy. Truly, the force of wind met the energy of fire.

It gave him the ability to use pure, unseen force in directed blasts. As well, he could almost make an attack by simply thinking about it. Without the need for a physical push to get his force, all bets were off. Kinesis, like plasma, was a hard subject to describe to those who hadn't seen it before. While fire was powerful and wind was quick, kinesis seemed to be a perfect combination of the two. It wouldn't burn anything or cause widespread destruction, of course, but when direct and unstoppable force was required, there was a new method available to the Rikudo Sennin.

And while it allowed Muji a new form of amusement, pushing things and people from a distance, it was a unique weapon that he intended to use to bolster his arsenal of jutsu and elemental force.

[WC: 311][/spoilername]

Apology accepted. Don't let me catch you enforcing the rules on me again, y'hear?

Applying for the following abilities for Ichimuji, by the way.
[spoilername="Acrobatics"]Onamuji reveled in the ability to occupy a new body. Despite the stigma that the Sage of Six Paths was more a being than a single body, Muji always considered his original body his own. After all, he was born as Onamuji. It was his body.

That didn't stop him from utilizing his capability to take other bodies, of course. Ichimuji, the Kaguya path that he had taken on after stopping his body when it belonged to a serial killer, was huge. He was tall, and built like a body-builder, but for all his size, he was incredibly agile. From what Muji read, Kaguya were known for being surprisingly agile fighters. It made sense, then, that Ichimuji was capable of impressive acrobatics and complex movement. It was almost instinctive, ingrained in the body's very cells.

[WC: 134][/spoilername]

[spoilername="Bulls Strength"]More than agility, the Kaguya form had strength. Pure, unadulterated strength. Onamuji didn't need to activate Ichimuji to know this, considering it took a very close run-in with the body's former inhabitant in order to take it as his own. Muji, despite his somewhat slender appearance, was muscled and strong in form. A punch from the sage could crush a boulder. However, Ichimuji made the sage's true form look like a child in comparison. It was physical strength at its peak. What would be a chore for Muji to lift in his original form was easily moved with Ichimuji...using a single hand.

It would be disheartening if it wasn't still his strength to use...

[WC: 113][/spoilername]

[spoilername="Combat Instinct"]Another aspect of the Kaguya's body that surprised Muji was the inherent instincts that came with having Kaguya blood. Focused in physical combat, Ichimuji seemed to have combat senses that seemed a cousin to Muji's ability for strategy. However, where Muji's strategic mind granted him the insight and ability to quickly map out and manipulate a situation, Ichimuji's combat instincts were like a reflexive form of the same ability. When in complex combat situations that threw multiple factors at him, he seemed able to mind and react to each with impressive efficiency.

Considering the work he intended Ichimuji to be used for, this was reassuring. Muji himself had his tricks, and his strengths, but there were certain things that required a tank...

[WC: 121][/spoilername]

[spoilername="Deflection"]With his combat instincts came other boons. On top of the ability to think quickly on his feet and adjust to multiple enemies, he also had an innate ability to use his bone structure manipulation to physically force incoming projectiles - be they shuriken, arrows, senbon, or the kitchen sink - to the wayside with no real damage to his own body. It was an aspect of the Kaguya that he didn't really take into account when imagining its ability to manipulate its bone structure. He, naturally, had to test it by jumping in front of a makeshift shuriken-thrower he rigged with a pull-rope. In time, he even began to set targets around him and practice deflecting the projectiles at will. To his immense amusement, he actually became quite proficient...

[WC: 130][/spoilername]

[spoilername="Duelist"]One of the scarier aspects of Ichimuji was his size and sheer force. He was naturally capable of taking on multiple opponents at once, but when all that focus and attention was focused on a single target...there was no stopping him. His eyes were unblinking, and his mind was unflinching. With little to distract him, and no other targets to take into account, it was easy to focus all his power to one singular victim. Of course, even in situations where he was surrounded, he seemed to be able to focus on a specific target with a sort of tunnel vision. This left him a little vulnerable to outlying attackers, but in situations that required him to destroy a specific target first, it was invaluable.

[WC: 125][/spoilername]

[spoilername="Fearless"]Another aspect that Muji knew from first-hand experience was the form's utter disregard for its own safety. With a bone structure as strong as steel and a body used to being pierced and broken by its own use of bone manipulation, the idea of pain was not at all frightening. Just as when the sage fought the original owner, it charged on despite all threats and dangers, unafraid of what may come. It was important to Muji to be fearless in all things. Life and death went hand-in-hand. To be afraid of either was shameful, and embarrassing. The Kaguya would approach the prospect of death with the same fearlessness that the sage who took the body would...

[WC: 117][/spoilername]

[spoilername="Health Converter"]The biggest difference between Muji's original form and that of the Kaguya he jokingly named Ichimuji was between their fighting styles. Muji had a chakra far beyond that of any mortal man, and his natural affinity and efficiency with it provided him a near-limitless chakra. As a master of ninjutsu, this was an invaluable advantage. As a Kaguya that relied on melee attacks and bone manipulation? What could all that chakra be used for?

Muji eventually discovered a way to establish a reverse scenario of what happened when a shinobi tried to use jutsu without the chakra to fuel it. Whereas the jutsu would take its cost from the user's physical body when out of chakra, he discovered a method of using excess chakra to return health and recover wounds.

History: Every Rikudo Sennin discovers the ability to produce jet black rods from their chakra at some point. It is an inherent ability of the Sage of Six Paths. Each Sage's particular weapon, however, is made entirely unique. Some may appear as heavy blades, while others as long rods. In Onamuji's case, his is a slender double-edged sword, able to be used with speed and precision. As with every Chakra Disruption Blade, this sword not only damages the opponent's body, but their chakra itself.

I'm back. Because I can't, and won't, let you sleep!

Applying for the following abilities for Nimuji, my Path of Flesh, while I'm at it.
[spoilername="Healing Factor"]One of the most peculiar traits of the new body was one that was easy to understand. It seemed that, through the almost never-ending flow of healing chakra in and out of the body, that it had developed a natural essence of healing energy. The body seemed to naturally heal itself over time, and was enormously receptive to healing jutsu. Whether a gift of whatever god or gods, or a natural miracle, it seemed that the woman was blessed for her conviction by endowing her body with the natural ability to heal itself from harm. Muji could only lament that this ability wasn't enough to save her from the impending illness that forced him to take her life and replace it with his own...

[WC: 124][/spoilername]

[spoilername="Jutsu Mastery"]A trait that Onamuji shared with this new form was a complete mastery of the art of ninjutsu. The girl had no doubt been a shinobi of some strength, and when given to the Rikudo Sennin's control, this power was only intensified by his natural affinity for the elements. Jutsu of all elements were his to command, and he did so was a natural ease. Through conditioned chakra and the knowledge to use it efficiently, all chakra expenditure seemed lessened in combat. A fact that would mean the difference between life or death in most situations. Muji knew all too well that it was his chakra that made him so terrifying. Without it, he was limbless.

[WC: 116][/spoilername]

[spoilername="Willpower"]It was no surprise that the body he had taken from the young Med-nin was filled with an inborn will of fire. When he entered into its form, despite all the awkwardness of possessing a female body for the first few weeks, he was able to recognize a change in gravitas. Whereas he normally couldn't be moved or pressed to care much about most things, this form seemed to carry its former owner's strong will and refusal to give in. Along with its ability to see through most tricks, he felt like he was able to overpower most illusions simply through willpower alone.

[WC: 103][/spoilername]

[spoilername="Transmit Life"]One of the biggest factors of the new path was its inherent ability to heal others. It was what drew Muji to the girl in the first place, and caused him to follow her and witness her at work. She poured her chakra into her patients, healing their wounds and illnesses with surprising effect. What surprised Muji the most was that her work challenged what he thought he knew of medical jutsu. All this time, he had assumed it was only possible to heal with a chakra-infused touch or some physical contact with a healing source. For the body he newly inhabited, it seemed that this was not the case. Her form was able to transmit healing chakra through extensions of its own chakra toward the recipient, much like using one of Muji's chakra-stealing jutsu. Naturally, as a man who wasn't naturally inclined toward melee contact in combat, this was very impressive...

[WC: 152][/spoilername]

[spoilername="Poison Resistance"]One of the beneficial side effects to having a body that naturally healed itself of injuries and sickness was its ability to seek out and stanch poisons in its system. Though poisons were one of the shinobi's oldest and most viable tools, he quickly found that poisons of any and all types were of a lesser - and shorter- effect. Venom that was intended to paralyze merely stiffened his limbs, and sleeping concoctions that would render a man unconscious for hours merely gave him a few minutes of rest. There was less need to fear the needles and knives of the assassins in this new form.

[WC: 106][/spoilername]

[spoilername="Barrier Mastery"]Muji also came to find out that one of the inherent skills that his new body possessed (pun!) was its knack for holding up barrier jutsu. Whether flame, or stone, or water, the Path of Flesh proved its innate ability to protect life by making barriers that exceeded the force of resistance and general potency of those that the sage had made before. It was almost as if this new body carried the will of its original host after death, upholding its goal to protect and heal others. Onamuji knew that when battle required a source of protection and support for him or his allies, this new form would be able to provide it.

[WC: 114][/spoilername]

[spoilername="Clarity"]Like its new owner, the Path of Flesh had a sense of clarity instilled in its very essence. While his Kaguya path wasn't as quick or perceptive, this woman's frame seemed to have been naturally resilient to tricks of the mind. This was a pleasant discovery, as one of the Sage's most well-known traits was his clear head and calm persona. It wouldn't do for him to be baffled and muddled by some idiot's genjutsu. At least, with this Path of Flesh he had taken into his fold, such tricks would be less likely to hold sway over his mind. Considering the role this form had to play, this would prevent any catastrophic setbacks in the future...
