Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Shinobi 101: Unarmed Taijutsu -> Ninjutsu

For the most part, Tatsuo's ability in Taijutsu is lacking. But he never really strays from using his hands or feet to fight considering his bones and skin are reinforced by wood whenever he enters combat. Whilst many need to rely on a weapon to inflict massive physical damage, Tatsuo can rely on his rapid and powerful blows to truly bring pain to an enemy. Even if his body wasn't reinforced by the physical means of his Bloodline, he probably would still jump into the fray of battle without any concern for his wellbeing. He is a stubborn guy and it always shows. Hopefully it doesn't end up killing him in the near future.

Replacing Elementalist with Conservative Motion:

RP:
Tatsuo put both of his hands in the air defensively, "Sorry, skipped breakfast this morning." He chuckled before taking the weights which Hoshi motioned to. He began to put the weighted clothes on, and a seal on each limb. Instantly he could feel his movements getting slower and his chakra not being used as well. If this was how Hoshi trained all the time, he could see why the boy had grown so strong in just a short year. Tatsuo lifted his arms, up to test just how heavy the weights were. It was doable, but it definitely took some strength. Tatsuo had spent most of his time training his Ninjutsu anyway, so this Taijutsu training would definitely help him.

He finally had lifted his arms up as he saw Ikko barge into the building and tearing up the table of meats like nothing else. He couldn't blame him, Tatsuo had a similar appetite but how he wasn't burning his mouth left him perplexed. "What are yo--" was what Tatsuo was able to get out before Ikko started with the outrageous claim that Hoshi and Tatsuo were a couple. Instantly his brows furrowed. "What are you talking about, kid, c'mon we're training get over here." he'd try to wave him over but was reminded of the heavy weights and chakra seals on his limbs. "Man how do you manage to do this, Hoshi." he said as he walked over and got into the same position to do a push-up as well. They were difficult and in the beginning Tatsuo had a lot of trouble and it seemed like he would falter, but with the motivation of Hoshi and his innate stubbornness he'd push through the pain and by the last one he felt like his arms were going to fall off. He knew he couldn't do a single one, but it was down for now and he didn't expect the training to get any easier from here on.

Tatsuo always seemed to be in the right place at the right time, even if he was ill prepared. He hadn't had the full time to properly deal with his.. situation before Hoshi's cries alerted him of the situation at hand. As he tried to swiftly buckle his pants together as he peeked past the tree line he saw Kaen, who definitely needed to burn some calories. Kaen and Hoshi had been fighting for who knows how long, but Kaen was going in for the kill!

"NOT TODAY SAND FATTY!" Tatsuo shouted as he jumped from the treeline. One hand in a seal and another hand around his pants keeping them from falling off. As he connected with the ground behind Hoshi, a large wooden box erupted around the boy to protect him from Kaen's flames. The wooden shield was powerful but the power of nature was as strong as it was helpful. Sending natural energy into Hoshi, sealing his wounds and reinvigorating his spirit to battle. Tatsuo reeled backwards as he made another flurry of handsigns. "You're gonna pay for that!" Tatsuo shouted from across the field. He raised his hands into the air before slamming them into the ground. Out from the ground came five wooden tendrils that'd seek out Kaen to the very depths of hell he came from.

And just like that the two began to battle, with the cost of lunch money enticing them to win they both gave it their all. Tatsuo took on his iconic defensive stance while also preparing his skin for battle. Unlike his armor, which covered his whole body in thick wooden plates, during battle his skin would reinforce with bits of wood. They would soften blows targeted against him and add ferocity to his blows that only the wrath of nature could provide. Just as Hira entered his water style Tatsuo began weaving the handseals for his armor. A series of vines began to wrap around his body creating a chain-mail like armor. After it had finished covering him from head to toe in a thick vine covering, wooden plates shot out from every inch, reinforcing the already tough armor with a better defense. The armor itself, however, seemed to have a mind of it's own. It moved and twisted as if it was growing and sprouting all the time. Hira made the first attack, striking at Tatuso with what would be a freezing blow but Tatsuo dodged with ease. "I've been saving this one for a good fight." he shouted across the field. Focusing his chakra into his shoulder, a wooden sculpture sharing the likeness to the intrepid hero grew.

As it finished it took the same features of Tatsuo down to the scar on his cheek. Hira hadn't been able to determine which was the real Tatsuo as both the clone and Tatsuo at the same time said, "Hope you've got that lunch money ready." Just as Hira seemed to throw a projectile, Tatsuo and his clone readied himself to dodge and began to prepare their next movements.

A smirk appeared on Tatsuo's face. Despite how strong Kaen was, even the most keen can be overwhelmed by so many things being thrown at them at once. Tatsuo was able to send out quite a few things to keep Kaen busy as he had an incredible amount of natural chakra. His Kyoubaku genes allowed him access to the very nature that surrounded them. From the smallest shrub, to the grandest tree, they all offered support to the boy when he needed it most. And if he was to save his friends here, he'd need every last drop. The clone he had made earlier dissolved itself into a combination of dirt and plant matter, now flying into the wind.. straight at Kaen's feet. In an instant, the clone reformed and reached for Kaen's feet, in an attempt to bind him as Hoshi struck him with lightning. With Hoshi striking from the ground, his clone trying to hold the Pyro down, and Tatsuo flying through the air.

Tatsuo realized that he spent too much energy in trying to empower his attacks and prove himself with enough chakra he didn't need. With his access to natural energy he is capable of focusing less on chakra and more of his physical stamina. In which he had been training harder and harder, Tatsuo was becoming tougher and tougher to take down as the day went on. Soon he would be an enemy that would be damn near unkillable, or at least he hoped so. With hard and difficult training he has gotten his body strong enough to resist all damage.

Applying for ability: Stalker.

Learning from Kaji, Tatsuo has gained quite a bit of knowledge in the realm of stealth. Using the shadows and other cover to your advantage can help you avoid enemy attacks, or even strike from the shadows with a better chance at catching your enemy off guard. Spending nearly two years under the tutelage under Kaji who by all means was an opportunist. He learned to not only use the shade to his advantage, but using his own foliage to create environments more favorable for him to fight in. He has finally grown confident enough to use it in his fighting ability.

Replacing: Fearless with Calm Mind.

After missing all of his Rasengan's, Tatsuo had a moment of clarity. What exactly what was he doing? Yeah they were fighting as rivals, to help eachother grow, but this.. both of them were fighting as if they were aiming to kill. He would stop in the middle of combat, jumping back quite a few feet. He raised his hands in the air and noticed just how bad he ha gotten Hira to bleed. Impressed by his rivals tenacity, but it wasn't worth it. The strength difference between the two was too slight to give either the edge needed to win. At least not without damaging their own bodies incredibly. Part of being a Chuunin was knowing your limits.

"Hira! We should stop this. You're bleeding." he said as he formed a hand seal, his tree golem fell over. While it still had the unique looking limbs it was nothing more than a normal tree now. "I'm serious, this fight isn't worth it. We both learned exactly what we already knew. Neither of us is just going to give up no matter how tough things get. And that's what's going to make us the best of the best. Hopefully i'll just miss less when we get there." he said with a cheeky smile. "And maybe you'll actually manage to hit through my armor." he said as it began to grow back into his body. "I'll buy your lunch and how about you buy mine? That way we both win."

While Tatsuo wasn't the fastest, after a long time training with Hoshi who excelled in a counter attacking fighting style he grew more adept in the practice. It fit into his defense in which he had begun more and more adept at. He had gotten to the point where he could defend from nearly any attack, being able to attack back immediately after allowed for a much needed offensive side to his oak hard defense. After learning how to counter attack effectively he has gotten to the point where he's been able to not only offer a quick basic strike after avoiding a blow. But powerful Ninjutsu such as his Great Forest Ball, or even wooden reinforced Taijutsu. He has decided to stop deflecting attacks because the damage he would take anyways was minimal, it very rarely made a difference between such small amounts of damage. With this it reinforced his already strong defense with a powerful counter reacting offense. It has gotten to the point where Tatsuo can almost instantly strike at this opponent after a failed attack and with him being so quick on his feet it wasn't rare for him to totally dodge an opponents powerful attacks.

For someone with the Sharingan you'd think he would be quite observant, but Tatsuo was definitely not wearing any Shurikens, but after all the kid was just an academy student his awareness must be low. While Tatsuo usually dressed in the typical Leaf gear if he was out doing stuff with other people, but when he was just by himself what was the point in getting all dressed up for nothing. "A signature move, eh?" he pondered it for a moment and shrugged his shoulders, he still hadn't found one for himself and the kid didn't really seem strong enough to have one just yet but at least it was a place to start. "Well you came to the right guy for Ninjutsu, or at least, I can help you a little bit." he said with a firm nod.

He listened to the different elements Ryo was capable of manipulating, all polar opposites from his own but it would be a good thing for the both of them. Tatsuo had a bit of experience with fire considering Saito used it quite a bit with his shadow jutsu. He watched as Ryo formed some handseals and was about to scold him for doing that in public, but the boy seemed to have a decent head on his shoulders. Extingushing the fireball before it hurt anyone. When asked if he would teach him, Tatsuo nodded and said "Yeah sure, let's get to a less populated area." he said, smiling to an old lady who shook her head at Ryo using Ninjutsu in a crowded street. Tatsuo placed his hands up in the air to prove his innocence. He mouthed a quick sorry to her, before rubbing the back of his neck and trying to push Ryo through the street. "Try not to do that again." he said shaking his head as he lead him to a more secluded part of the village.

It wasn't long until they were on the edge of one the many forests of the village, a large grass field, a small creek bed and some wooden pillars that were nearly torn to shreds after years of shuriken and kunai practice laid. It would be a fine place to train, no one around, quiet, and most of all, open. With this much space Ryo could use such a destructive element without destroying anything around and the water of the nearby creek would provide a great place for him to shoot fireballs without burning up the terrain around him. "Alright.. Ryo, I want to see your biggest fireball, your strongest jutsu, don't hold anything back. Push yourself to your limits, because I can't show you anything if i'm not aware of just how strong you can get." And with his short speech, he crossed his arms and awaited Ryo to strike into action.

Calm Mind -> Fearless
He's sure not going to like this one. He thought to himself as he took a seat on the ground under him, crossing his legs and placing his hands on each knee to support his back and keep him upright. "While this may not be for everyone and maybe it won't do you any good. I feel like the best way to learn things.. is to well think about them first. You won't get anywhere without practice, but without imagining what you're doing first you may do it wrong. And while I was never really good at school or anything, hell, growing up I wasn't even good at being a Ninja. It wasn't until recently that I started to think I was even worthy of giving anyone advice, but before i've done any move, I'd think about it. I really got to know my chakra and what it was capable of. You see i've got a special chakra that most people don't have access to. I think for years it really hindered my ability to do ninjutsu because no one knew about it really. When I was your age.. I couldn't even perform a simple transformation jutsu, much less a wooden tendril. I believe it's because no one tried to teach me. They tried to show me, they tried to just.. you know, focus my chakra and just hope something happened but that didn't work for me. It wasn't until I was in a situation where I wasn't really in control that it just came out, saving my life and another's. I don't think you need anything too drastic to happen as you clearly have mastery over your jutsu, but I would like for you to just think about your chakra a bit. Why do you think it comes out as fire? Instead of say, wood, or wind?"

Conservative Motion -> Jutsu Expansion
"But you are right, Chakra is important. Without a good manipulation of it, you can't really do anything, but just by making the fire you proved that you've got somewhat a good control of your chakra flow and while that doesn't say much for some of the more advanced techniques you'll hopefully learn someday as a shinobi with age, it does say a lot about your current capabilities. With are in no way lacking, I hope you don't take anything i'm saying as insult." He awkwardly chuckled as he was offered such prestigious praise from Ryo, it was still weird that he was now training soon-to-be shinobi. When what felt like just yesterday he was walking these own streets wearing a scarf as a headband and declaring that he would become a powerful Jonin some day. Maybe he really was on his way to that, it brought a very gentle smile to his face as he was flushed with another wave of nostalgia. A common occurrence since his return to the Leaf and nothing made him happier to see the village he called his home to be inhabited with such motivated and skilled children. When requested some more tips Tatsuo pursed his lips and thought for a moment.

Elemental Aura -> Martial Artist:
"Your first attack was good, large and wide, good for ensuring solid blows on an opponent and even better at ensuring blows on multiple opponents. However when you originally fired off the ball, it was wild and uncontrolled at the base. I would show you with Wood.. but I don't really think--" he furrowed his brows. "You know what.. here." He rose his hand and without forming a single seal, wooden tendrils appeared from his arms as if he was a tree itself. They twisted and turned as if snakes waiting for Tatsuo's command, with no form or pattern just twisting and wasting time before they seemed ready to strike. "Now.." he said pulling a shuriken from a pocket of his, the silver flashing in the sun as he tossed it off in the distance. Slicing through the air with the familiar sound of cold steel zipping through the skies. It landed a fair distance away from them and the moment it touched the ground, Tatsuo's tendrils sprung into action shooting in every direction striking down at the shuriken which he was using as a makeshift target. All coming close to the general area but not truly hitting their mark. Whilst he could've made them hit had he tried his hardest, it would've taken much more chakra and a lot more luck than if he had formed it right from the first place. "You see? With wood it's a bit more about accuracy, since fire is a wider element in most.. offensive cases. However just like my tendrils wasted all that movement at the beginning it made it much more difficult to fire off the tendrils accurately."

Elemental Aura -> Martial Artist:
