I'd like to apply for the Advanced Element of
Mirror
[spoilername="Mirror Application"]Wind, such a basic element, the flowing wisps of air moving in a predictably random pattern. For even Sound is nothing but the most basic aspects of wind, boiled down to a simple, purified manner. Moving past that, Kimi pushed herself further, trying to open her mastery over Wind, and every derivation thereof. Working day in and day out, through clear weather, and not so clear weather, she found that she could combine her natural affinity for wind with the water around her, to draw forth something altogether new from herself. The reaction was almost instantaneous. She could feel the shifting in the very nature of the wind. The wind and water together hardened into a clear, 'solid' surface on which her motions could reflect and rebound. It was fascinating.
The rain, perhaps, was not the best weather for such actions as training. At least, that was the view of most who passed by the single female dancing her way about the training field. Drenched from head to toe, yet not letting it slow her down, it was as if it didn't exist. The pattering of the raindrops served as fuel for her motion, the violin that typically accompanied her was left at home. No sense in having the instrument damaged uselessly. It wasn't the first time she'd done such things, though the rain was falling significantly more than usual. As such, something strange happened.
It started like any other normal, rainy day training. Kimi was working through some simple drills, moving the wind through the rain, and striking at the dummy across from her. Then, something strange happened. She spun, intending to fling three bullets of air at her target. Without intending to, she channeled water chakra into her action as well, flinging the water directly into the air bullets. What resulted struck the target, slicing through it in a solid form. A pause. That wasn't supposed to happen. She stepped forward, reaching hesitant fingers towards the target to find the source. There was something there. Where there should have only been the aftermath of air slicing through, there were instead small jagged shards of glass. A frown. What did she do to cause such a reaction? Could it have something to do with the water?
For hours, Kimi worked through that theory, pulling from her knowledge of the natural world to pull her water affinity forward, combining it with wind in a unique way. This was going to be awesome!
...if she could actually figure it out, that is.
