Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Standing there in dismay he watched as his entire attack had been blown away by Kagai's powerful shield of flame. Despite this dismay he could not help but be impressed by the maneuver and how effective it was. The technique had been used earlier to counter his projectiles but he underestimated the full strength of that jutsu. His use of fire type jutsu was clearly in another level than his own. Even with the Uchiha clans natural affinity for it. Regardless of the circumstances his mind guided by his eyes was constantly adjusting to the situation attempting to read the next move. It seemed his opponent grew tired of laying in wait and was ready to strike his holy judgement.

From his own shadow creatures spawned as a result of a jutsu from his opposition. Being caught by surprise a creature sprung to action and grabbed a hold of him. Putting him in some sort of body lock Bruinetto would be kept from moving as he wouldn't be able to perform seals normally. The second of the creatures taking to the front ushered in for an attack to his stomach. Struggling all he could he wasn't able to break this hold initially. He would have no method to dodge the attacker but that didn't mean there weren't options to deal with it. Lifting his foot and slamming it before him like earlier a seal scrolled over the ground springing up in a net-contraption catching the incoming attacker. Striking into the net detonated the projectiles blowing it back but the resulting force would be utilized by Bruinetto. Kicking off against the ground with his other foot as the blast hits into them it lifts him and the creature off the ground flying backwards. Using the creature as a cushion he also jabs an elbow into the thing carrying with the momentum of their fall. Finally he managed to release himself from its hold and sprung back up. While both entities were still alive it seemed Kagai was cooking up something interesting.

The opponent charging full tilt was wielding a compact ball of chakra. The nature of that chakra and its complexity would draw Bruinetto's eyes. Seems that this beast was capable of control and focus when he needed it. Apparently he choose to use that more in his jutsu instead of his reckless demeanor. Finally his sealed jutsu would play a role and come to life. Before the charging Anku the sealing tag laid would release in a puff of smoke. It was like a constant stream of projectiles so dense that it formed wall that would impede his progess. At this same moment the two seals across the entry to their battlefield would activate sending two projectiles his way. While they were single attacks each flew at incredible speed and considerable power. His opponents attack would prove more than enough to blow away the wall but held him in place long enough to help ensure a hit. Regardless of whether it hit him or not Bruinetto knew it wouldn't be enough to stop him. Standing at near the edge of the roof there was not many options for running. Holding his hands up in front of him a surge of concussive chakra blasted into the assailant. This orb of chakra wielded by Kagai clashed with the jutsu but the resulting forces would blast Bruinetto back and hurtle him off from the roof.

Even with his defensive actions to weaken the jutsu and avoid taking solid hit to the body its force flung him like a rag doll and causing him to smash against the grounds surrounding the dojo. As his body hit the ground it left a small sprawling crater around him. Choosing to avoid a hit to his body would prove to have its own disadvantages. His hands were now covered in burns and had been considerably damaged while defending. Making hand seals would be painful and would be a slower process and his aim would surely suffer as a result. “Damnit, he actually got me with that last one. The scale he is fighting on now, this is his full strength. It is only courteous that I return the favor.” Meanwhile despite Kagai's victory up on the roof there was one more obstacle returning to the fray. Reinforcements coming back in the form of the Steel Dragon would attempt to strike from behind in a similar fashion to before seeking to get catch him by surprise. At this same instant Bruinetto would rise to his feet staring to the ground for a moment. A strange shift could be felt in this boys chakra as his eyes would manifest into a shape they had not been in for quite some time.

While only a partial success, as Kagai was initially aiming at Bruinetto's chest, the effect was still the same. The rapid spinning nature of the orb, coupled with his fire chakra, not only sent him flying off of the roof, but from the looks of it had also caused some decent burning upon his hands. This small victory wasn't without cost to Kagai however. His shadow servants had been destroyed. Kagai would suffer stabs and cuts from the wall of projectiles that his opponent had spawned in an attempt to impede his movement towards him, on top of him apparently setting off a trap that caused two large projectiles to hit Kagai from behind.

Before leaping down to greet his opponent once more, Kagai would remove the projectiles that he had been hit with. With two forceful pulls and loud grunts of pain, they would be removed. While Kagai did have an above-average healing factor about him, he had his limits. The wounds these made would need to be treated and dressed after this was all over, plus there was always the threat of poison, though with the way his body going through adrenaline and chakra, he would of undoubtedly felt the effects of any poison by now. Despite all that, he reveled in his success as he leaped down from the building, completely forgetting about the steel dragon. He had assumed it was a mutually assured destruction maneuver that took out both his Harbinger, and the dragon, but apparently that was not the case.

Hearing the clang of metal behind him, Kagai would turn his head just in time to see the dragon about a foot away from him. His shield of fire would react accordingly, but it was very obvious that wouldn't be enough. The dragon would plow through his shield, becoming heated by it, and Kagai was caught in the chest by the blunt object the dragon was charging him with. His shield absorbed some of the blow, making the metal less stable, but the force behind it still sent the priest flying back, making a B-line towards a nearby wall. Kagai would attempt to slow himself down by plowing his legs into the ground and gripping at it with his chakra. This maneuver would have him now skidding backwards, tearing up the earth beneath his feet as he was desperately having his chakra cling to whatever it could. He would come within inches of colliding with the stone wall, and he would cough up a bit of blood as a result from the blow. He needed a moment to think, and would attempt to do so by forming a few handseals and taking in a deep breath. His chest would seem to expand an unnatural amount before he let loose his jutsu. It was a wind jutsu that was used to not cause harm, but just to clear the area and provide a moment of rest.

As his body was aflame, the wind jutsu would take the form of a tidal wave of fire, though not damaging itself, it would kick up a good amount of dust along with create an almost unbearable amount of heat, hopefully giving Kagai some time to regain his composure. His opponents Sharingan was formidable, but the heat and dust would hopefully cloud even it's power for even a few seconds.

[I used Wind Release for this effect. If you got any protests, you know where to find me!]

A slight smirk came to his face while standing there to witness the return of his Steel Dragon. Having been so involved with the battle itself he almost didn't even notice he was still maintaining the technique. It was a shame that earlier he didn't put more faith into this jutsu. It proved to be a much stronger asset than he had realized. This action would be the equalizer that put these two combatants on relatively equal terms. With the state his creation was in he would remove his control over it causing it to break apart into the projectiles that created it landing harmlessly against the ground. Scanning effortlessly through the scenery and chaos he would spot where Kagai had managed to end up. The wounded priest called to the winds for aid as a release of air rose upwards in a current guiding the loose elements scattered about the area. His opponents forte was all out attack and for him to resort to such a measure could only mean one thing. It was an attempt at recovering and regaining his composure. It was unlucky for him though because that chance would not be given out easily.

The wind release was obscuring his view making it much harder for him to see Kagai in detail but one thing in particular was the inability to make eye contact. Despite the additional visual prowess of the Mangekyou Sharingan there were limitations to ocular jutsu. It was no matter as he could roughly pick out his chakra through the visual aid of his eyes. Knowing the jutsu that Kagai used was beneficial here though as he held up his hands not needing to use seals for this. Grasping onto the currents of wind created by Kagai he would blow them back right in his face not only blowing it past him but revealing him where he stood. Already knowing where to look his eye focused as if targeting the opponent as his hands came together and formed a single seal. Kagai could feel the winds returning back his way the direction they had blown. A strange feeling against him as the dust and embers felt much different than before. Any that struck against him would give off the feeling of grainy edges of diamond as it scraped against him.

This fine and course material was quite irritating to the skin but even deadlier in such an aerial form. As it was being spread through the air bright lights reflected off the glass illuminating the area in spectacular yet distracting ways. This material seemingly had no effect on Bruinetto as it was swirling around as a vortex creating a barrier to contain the battle. Inside of this vortex various currents flowed in sine wave patterns distributing the glass creating what could be analogous to a sandstorm. As the fragments reflected it would further obscure the view of Bruinetto, as there were now appeared to be six of him. One of them was the real Bruinetto while the others were just a distorted perception of light in the room. Each one of them gave an ominous glare as they all remained silent not even showing a hint of emotion. The one in the middle would speak. “I have measured your strength, and analyzed your fighting style. Even with your impressive display in your ninjutsu you won't overcome this. The harder you struggle the faster you will wear down. Breathing that stuff in can't be healthy.” It would appear there was a certain sweet spot in the technique where the currents did not spread the diamond dust. These sweet spots were very small and surrounded each Bruinetto.

[OOC: There is a lot of RP flair going on here. Just using the Diamond Dust genjutsu and RPing it like it was a ninjutsu. You know normal genjutsu tomfoolery]

It seemed his farce was figured out, as he had anticipated. But he had not anticipated what happened next. Apparently his opponent had managed to not only disrupt the jutsu he had used as a distraction, but also used it as a catalyst to bring in his own jutsu. The winds and sand would swirl all around Kagai, scraping and irritating his flesh. It almost felt as if he was outside on the diamond maelstrom, only on a lesser scale of course. The diamond maelstrom would undoubtedly strip flesh from bone in a matter of minutes, whereas at the speed this was going, it'd probably take a millenia or two, though it was still painful and annoying.

"My lord has saw fit to bless me with a high tolerance for pain and a fast healing factor...While this does hurt, it won't stop me. Your assessment is flawed. You haven't the slightest idea of what I am, or what I can do." Kagai would say as he began to focus on the heat waves rolling off of his body. He would than take off running towards Bruinetto, or rather the Bruinettos as there appeared to be six of them. Was it Genjutsu or a clone jutsu? He would soon find out as he charged head-long towards his opponent, leaping slightly up into the air while his hands quickly went into a series of seals, his chakra focusing on amplifying the heat energy pouring off of his body. When he hit the ground in front of his adversaries, the energy would surge out all around him, scorching the very earth beneath his feet black. He had hoped to extend this jutsu to encompass all of them, but at least hit two. This would reveal to him if they were true clones, or genjutsu-based. Or at least he hoped it would.

Seemed that this man was as fearless as he claimed to be. Or at the very least he did not fear no man, but only his occult figure. Even with his delusions it gave him a powerful set of convictions and passion that drove him forward. So long as this force was on his side there was no need to back down if he truly believed it was always protecting him. Could it be that only lucky has gotten him this far? Or there some kind of higher power meddling in these affairs? Like it mattered now, all he needed was a chance and his rouse could continue to develop. With a second wind Kagai would make his charge but just how effective would it prove against this technique?

Taking to the sky the priest crashed down in front of the line of Bruinetto's and would release a powerful wide spreading flaming that looked to encompass the entire group. Those who were on the outskirts of the technique would easily hop back to evade the explosion as two images of Bruinetto were enveloped by this scorching flames. These images burned form a moment standing there surprise and pain as a strange reaction would follow as they exploded into diamond dust scattering in all directions. A barrage of this dust would pelt into the priests body seemingly bypassing his flame defenses. Shortly after the reaction the four remaining images sprung into the air landing in a diamond formation just in front of Kagai. The center of this formation open landing would immediately close his right eye. Using this sole eye this piercing glare found Kagai's gaze. “Attacking clones, such wasted effort. How far can your regeneration carry you? I have given you much chance to rest before. What makes you think I will start now?”

-------

Tsukuyomi

A red light began to overcast the room as there was a change in the sky above. What had been mid day prior had dulled and festered becoming blacker than the darkest night. In the center of this darkness it was a moon that cast the hues of red and illuminating the sky. A crack went down the center of the moon as it opened revealing a mangekyou sharingan. The sheer force of its power pummeled the rooftop causing it to crumble crashing down into the room they were standing in. After hitting the ground these rocks continued to crumble into smaller stones and would begin to rattle against the floor. While the rattling continued these rocks would rise up and then quickly jettison towards Kagai. These rocks pelted against certain parts of his body, mainly around his wrists and ankles. Forming a tight grasp around these regions his body would be lifted up into the air letting his legs dangle while his arms stretched out and parallel to the ground. “How appropriate of you to be pinned up like a martyr. Something your Lord Kojin would approve of right?”

In this instance Kagai seemed virtually powerless and unable to break out of this bind nor would he get a response out of his chakra. Waving his hand over his head Bruinetto would seemingly create a scroll out of nothing that would begin spewing out an array of conventional projectiles. These arrays splitting off into three groups would create two large masses of projectiles similar to the two used earlier while they stood on the rooftop. They floated there effortlessly as the Sharingan gave a cold hearted stare towards this easy target. These projectile meteors were launched one by one towards their target. Just as Kagai felt he was recovering from the first the next one would hit even harder than the last. After the last of these meteors hit a mound of projectiles laid all around creating a mound on the ground. This mound had come up and nearly wrapped around his body. All of them sticking into the target making him into almost a pin cushion. Only his neck and head was not encompassed in this mass of steal. In his hand Bruinetto held a single senbon. Without a word he pulled back his arm before slinging the needling through the air. The sharingan painted a target between Kagai's eyes as it would strike him dead in the skull. Releasing a burst of blood spewing out into a fine misty spray for his visual pleasure.

----------

That entire passing of time in that moment was only relative to the priest as Bruinetto stood there as Tsukuyomi wore off. Manifesting two more of his barbed projectiles he would seize this opportunity as each of the images would mimic his actions. With the conditions his hands were in he couldn't go for a skilled shot he would aim for two separate body shots. Each hand would skillfully throw a projectile with lightning speeds and would only appear as a blur to the eyes. After releasing this attack the real Bruinetto would mix up with the rest of the images blending in with them almost seamlessly. “It's fascinating how real illusionary pain can feel isn't it. Almost makes you start to question what is, and is not reality.”

He knew that what fell before his eyes now was an elaborate illusion, but the mind was a tricksy thing. Because of the level of this technique, his body was unable to tell the difference between real pain and mental pain. Could this be the rumored Genjutsu of the Uchiha clan? The name escaped Kagai at the moment, but one of the many things the Uchiha were known for was their use of Genjutsu, and some were rumored to have those which bent, if not broke, the barrier of reality. To think this guy may be in possession of such an ability, and that Kagai had forced his hand to reveal one of his greatest abilities. A twinge of pride fell upon the warrior priest even as his body was lifted up into the air and stretched out into the crucifixion position..."It would be a good death, if it were real." Kagai said with a smile as his body was pelted with projectiles.

Days, if not weeks, seemed to pass before Kagai and the pain never let up. He screamed loudly with each slice of his skin, each splatter of blood. He knew none of it was real, but his body didn't know that. It still felt very real to him. Eventually, it would let up, and Kagai would return to reality. He was exhausted, almost unable to move as he held himself up with his arms as he knelt to the ground. Dark circles had formed underneath his eyes, almost as if he hadn't slept in weeks, but a smile still appeared upon his face. His body was numb, so he couldn't feel the real projectiles that entered into his flesh now, and the fire that had engulfed his body was beginning to die down. He had reached his limit, he could not go any further.

His downfall was his rash behavior. Rushing in full-steam without considering his opponents abilities, and his lack of skill in Genjutsu didn't help much either, though it is hard to say if that would of helped him much with such a high level technique. Regardless, Kagai forced himself up to his feet, keeping his piercing eyes fixed upon Bruinetto as he stood up tall and proud, extending his arms outward parallel to the ground once more to mimic the crucifixion he had endured within the Genjutsu.

It was then his eyes seemed to go blank, and his body began to fall backwards. He had passed out on his feet, content in the idea that he had given all he could and then some in the battle, his opponent was just smarter than him this time. He also knew that he had landed a couple good hits of his own, and had forced his opponent to dig deeper than he probably had wanted to in order to beat him. Whatever his fate may be now, Kagai was content with the battle, and was ready to accept death should it fall upon him this day.

It had seemed that victory was now in his grasp. The relaxed nature of his opponents body was not out of leisure but of exhaustion This battle had pushed his opponents limits to their breaking point and after constantly accelerating their performance as the battle went on it was no surprise that Kagai and himself were running on fumes nearing the end of this battle. Bruinetto would not be so bold to think that it was his constant provocations which led Kagai to utilize such high level techniques and burn through his chakra at such a fast pace. From his perspective it was clearly indicating of a reckless nature which seemed to be fitting for a man whose natural element were flame. It also wasn't surprising that a man of the church lacked restraint either. This passing thought brought a snicker to Bruinetto's face. There were no more needs for those chiding and belittling words at this point. They wouldn't serve any purpose anymore aside from personally attacking an opponent who was no longer defending himself. Attacking such a target without the chance of opposition seemed cowardice and he would have none of this.

Despite the free flowing nature of his thoughts being unhindered the same could not be said for his body. All the rigorous physical activity had taken its toll. The last attack that had sent him crashing into the ground did far more damage that he was willing to admit. Even if his mind was pushing past the pain the echo of its presence could not be silenced entirely. In fact it was now running in concert with the pain which was now surging through his left eye. His breathing had escalated and his heart was racing due to the nature of the Tsukuyomi. Currently his left hand was now covering that eye clasping due to the pain that was surging through. The techniques of the Mangekyou Sharingan while incredibly powerful also carried incredible risks to the user. Bruinetto was not one to use kinjutsu carelessly, especially ones that if used excessively can cause permanent damage to ones vision. If his eyes were to lose their light that would be a personal hell. In this vulnerable state if Kagai could muster the power to attack there wouldn't be a whole lot he could do to counter. Seems like Bruinetto had managed to do what he had sought out to do from the beginning. That being outlast his raging opponent and allowing him to run out of fuel. However did this happen on purpose or did he simply get lucky?

“I cannot accept this as a win. I don't like the feeling of winning when it comes off as a technicality. I do not feel assured that it was my skill alone that brought about this conclusion. If I were to test the same hypothesis again I don't think the conclusion would end up the same. It is not sound for a theory to be based on a hypothesis that holds little truth to it from false assumptions.”
Slowly the chakra faded away from being channel through his eyes as they faded straight from Mangekyou to the base form of his eyes fully deactivating the Sharingan. His arm slowly dropping down from in front of his face and down to the side Bruinetto would take a seat on the ground assuming a non-threatening posture to show that he was done fighting. If this was a ruse by Kagai he could take full advantage of it and prey on this moment, if he was even capable of this. “While we stand on different view points, the two of us are very much the same. We both carry an incredible passion for the ideal that drives us. You wear the armor of the metaphysical, while I brandish the blade of science. Each of us are on the same wavelength, but we are in different phases. When the same wavelength is added together in different phases they superimpose on one another augmenting the signal.” Perhaps going off in the jargon in this manner would be lost upon Kagai so it would be better to simplify in this instance. “When we oppose each other, we negate each other. However if we worked together our powers would amplify. I find it a much more fruitful endeavor to do the latter instead of the former. Would you agree?”

As his body began to fall back, his body apparently limp and unresponsive, something would seem to grip him and pull him back to the waking world. He would tighten his leg muscles and abs and pull himself back from the precipice of the dark, forcing himself to remain awake and coherent. He would look up towards his opponent, still unable to move, but he was able to listen as e spoke. He spoke about wavelengths, and something about amplification. While Kagai wasn't stupid and was knowledgeable in some aspects of science, what Bruinetto was blabbering about definitely went over his head..."I....don't get what you are saying....But I do agree with that last bit..." He said, able to muster out those words before standing himself upright..."We would definitely make a formidable team, despite your blasphemous ways."

The wounds on his body would appear to be healing, albeit slowly, even as they stood there. Kagai did have a strange mutation about him that allowed for such a thing, and he used it to his advantage in most cases, which defines the way he fights, but that didn't help him much here, and doesn't always work in a battle of the mind. Kagai would still fall forward to his knees, able to hold himself up that far but no much farther...

A slight smirk came over him after Kagai had agreed that the two of them would work well together. He couldn't help but chuckle at his mentioned of "blasphemous" ways. Kagai could call them whatever he wanted but in the end those words meant very little to Bruinetto. The metaphysical was a concept that got lost on him and he found it to be so out of touch with what he knew of the world and the laws that it followed to put any real "faith" into it. In fact he couldn't put much faith into anything that didn't have a proof. Something that could be verified with anecdotal evidence and could be replicated time and time ago to be proven absolutely true. However, with Kagai being that kind of person it would allow for him to associate with a much different viewpoint and allow him to perceive a much different perspective. It certain could become an interesting learning experience. "So long as we can come to an agreement the extra clash in opinions do not matter. At least that is how I see it.."

There seemed to be quite a commotion going on the roof now as a group of caretakers for the dojo had finally come out to look over the ruckus. Many of them were exclaiming various profanities due to the nature of the mess and the scale of the battle that had taken place. While this dojo was normally reserved at times but their battle had escalated far too quickly into such catastrophic looking scene. "I don't think anybody ended up witnessing our battle. So if we play it cool, we may be able to get out of this without taking the blame. I'd rather not cause trouble for the Jenosaido because of our reckless battle and property damage done to the Toraono grounds. They have some powerful political ties, I'd rather not see get scolded for hurting relations between the two clans."

It did seem like all of the denizens of the dojo were coming out of the woodwork now that everything had calmed down. Bruinetto spoke of not wanting to cause a tension between the Toroano and the Jenosaido because of this, but was he talking about Kagai? As far as he knew, Bruinetto was an Uchiha. While there were indeed those gifted with the Sharingan among the Jenosaido, there was also the Uchiha clan itself that was prominent within Suna..."I can agree to that. Last thing I need right now is for tension to rise in the clan because of me." Kagai would say, his wounds and overall damage being about 50% healed now, which allowed him to move about and talk without much difficulty.

"Perhaps we should scatter. We shall talk later." Kagai would say as he placed his hands into a seal, disappearing from site before anyone had become the wiser on his involvement in this.

It seemed that Kagai had not realized a key bit of information just yet. After their first encounter there seemed something familiar about Kagai and it didn't take much snooping around and speaking about a boy with a fierce dedication to his religion for somebody to speak up about a member of the Seishou Branch of the Jenosaido who matches that description. There was something uncanny about this situation that seemed to emulate a small portion of history. The store of a Fujikaru and a Seishou clashing against one another, realizing that there are common threads between them, and deciding that working together would be for the greater good. They said that those who do not know their history will have a tendency to replicate the past. Perhaps Kagai was not so well versed in their clans history and instead was firmly rooted in the dogma of his faith. If the man could display the same passion he did for religion for something that can contribute to the village he was capable of doing many great things. There was still time for a change like that to be ushered in as it was not going to happen over night.

Taking Kagai's lead in a plume of smoke Bruinetto would disappear leaving not a single trace behind.
