Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

The east of Lightning country is home to the Spine of the World a chain of dizzyingly colossal mountains which span from the southern tip of Lightning country up to the very northern borders were it smashes into the Thunder Mountains. The spine covers nearly thirty percent of the country, and its main streams, lakes and rivers are responsible for most of the land's fresh water supply and geographical layout. Winter storms usually plague the mountains for eight to ten months of the year, especially in the north, and very little vegetation exists on their snowy caps. Despite the difficult terrain, many of the most magnificent and dangerous creatures in Lightning call the mountains home. One of those creatures, or a Youkai that calls these mountains his home was Maru. Since he usually gave off an aura of fear he decided to separate himself from general population to keep his demonic aura from spreading, not to mention he's been accidentally turning people into Youkai's and creating Youkai from his tainted chakra that just won't go away. Since those little fiends were too ugly for general population so he decided to move them to the spine since this was actually where he trained with the Kotengu of the mountains to become a Youkai sage. Plus it was close to where his clan was since they lived near the spine too so he decided that he'd hang around in the cave that he dwelled in when he first arrive to lighting country. Good training grounds, close to clan, and keep his cursed chakra from affecting other people since he messes with the environment a lot since taking the powers of a sage. Don't want neighbors knocking on his door saying there's a demon in their house licking their dirty bathtub or a little weirdo eating all the sugar.

The rogue sat on the edge of a cliff, kicking his legs as he watched the moon in front of him that looked so big at bright. There were a few clouds out but the full moon dominated the skies with millions of stars as Maru sat on the cliffside of a mountain that he called his home. Maru wore his usual navy blue kimono he wears during the night, his curved horns now visible and he now had his small batlike wings outstretched since there wasn't anyone around to call him a freak for his appearance. He didn't even understand why he grew wings to begin with, they were the size of his hand so they couldn't exactly support his body weight for him to actually fly with. They were also pretty easy to hide since they seem to be only for show, since taking the sage arts he usually takes on the powers of a full youkai with Maleficium however his curses are causing him to look more and more like a demon each time he released his true hellish form. He has only done it twice, once to beat up some monster and another to show a friend who he trusted. He might need to work on cleansing himself from the demon taint before he ended up looking like an ogre thing every night with useless wings.

He yawned, stretching as he felt like it was nearly midnight. That's usually when monsters would come out to play, so he figured he'd do the usual then put his talismans up in the ancient forest to try to flush out that demon that may he haunting the forest. “Welp! Time for work.” He said, scooting back from the cliffside so he could stand up. His hand sized bat like wings flapped though he wasn't flying, they simply just moved with his emotions. “Man this is a rip off, got wings and can't fly with them.” He complained, sure he liked running everywhere he went since it was good exercise and being pretty good at Taijustu he loved to exercise a lot. But having these small wings he would think that he would at least be able to ride the skies like the tengu everywhere he went. A lot of people would like the power to fly, why was bat wings a part of a demons natural traits he had no clue… hopefully the night would bring the Youkai Sage something different.

Re: Gib Maru His Normal Wings! [Contract Search]

The darkness stretched for miles as far as the eye could see. In the night sky, the bright glare of the stars and the moon shone upon the mountainside bathing the shinobi in it's light. Though, perhaps while these parts were home to Maru, in the darkness, greater things lurked. Some friendly, some not so approachable. The first mistake was perhaps the decscion to start talking as his voice echoed off the cliffsides and there seemed to be an reaction if Maru would look down from the mountain into the valley below. A flutter of wings as something flew up and by him too fast to get a good look at but it was small in size and black, black as the night sky that towered over him. As he spoke again, nature woud answer again and this time, her reply would come in the answer of a shrill scream. A shriek that carried for miles. Whatever had been awakened, it clearly was aware something was near and it did not want it near whatsoever. But what was it? The valley below, it was hard to make out any identifiable source as the darkness provided an excellent source of cover for all who happened to be near. The shriek sounded again, this time closer and Maru would have to act quickly as a small, birdlike creature flew at him flapping it's wings in his face in a bat-like fashion before darting off again, This process repeated twice more. The creature was fast but if the shinobi paid attention enough, he would be able to come to the conclusion that somewhere, deep down, there was a group of bats resideing and for some reason, they had been upset,.

A final shriek sounded, this one so loud that it hurt your eardrums. A sea of black rose into the air, bats among bats and flew off into a direction as if chasing something. The group moved west and among the shrieks of pains, a yelp of pain could be heard from something. It appeared some foreign intruder had found themselves within the nest and these aerial animals had not taken too kindly too that. Voices could be heard from the flock as well. Apparently, the bats had the ability to communicate not only through sonar but through the use of vocal chords as well."Ow! Quit it! Stop! That hurts, damn it! IT WAS AN ACCIDENT OK?" I'M SORRY!""You think you can just come in here and make yourselves at home, huh?! Ever heard of knocking?! Don't apologize now! We were having a nice little snooze before your nosy self had to come wandering in here and disrupted the peaceful slumber! Oh, don't you worry! I am going to show you how we dish out justice in the wild, you uncivilized freak!""LISTEN, I WAS JUST GONNA-OW, CAN I JUST TAL-OWWWW!""Talking is done! Man up and face your consequences!"

The two voices of protest rose against each other each attempting to find reason. The cause for the conflict seemed to be confusing to an outsider but should one choose to investigate at their own peril, they would find that the swarm of bats were quite intent on attacking a stray bear that had wandered into the mountainside clearly lost but that was not an excuse they were willing to listen to. The thing was liming and bleeding from one leg as it swatted off the bats who regrouped before charging the beast with renewed energy. Should Maru decide to intervene, he would first have to make his way down the mountain which in itself was quite the ardous task being as high up as he was but at the same time, the voices still carried up to him as the feeding frenzy continued.

[Option 1: You may decide to observe and watch what happens]
[Option 2: You may decide to intervene and attempt to reason with the bat swarm]
