Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Many moons had waxed and waned since the last incident. Yet, inevitably, it had happened again.

A sacred tome had vanished from the public wing of the Oracle’s Library.

Not merely misplaced.
Not borrowed.
Stolen.

The book in question was no ordinary volume. Its contents were deemed too extraordinary - too dangerous - for common eyes. Access to its chamber required the direct presence of a librarian or Oracle to unseal the warded door. And yet, somehow, someone had slipped inside and escaped with the tome without triggering a single alarm, leaving the staff on duty unsettled and whispering theories beneath their breath. No locks were broken. No wards disturbed. It was as if the intruder had simply belonged there.

Whatever was written within those pages was never meant to be seen by the uninitiated. One careless glance could leave a reader permanently scarred—mind, body, or soul. The book had to be recovered and resealed immediately, before fate placed it into the wrong hands.

A summons was quietly issued across the city to any available shinobi - or enterprising students - willing to earn a bit of extra yen. Those who answered the call would receive a sealed scroll upon arrival at the library. Breaking the wax would reveal the briefing:

Proceed to the Oracle’s Library.
Speak with any available staff member to accept the mission.
Recover and return the stolen book for payment.
Under no circumstances are you to open the tome unless you are of legal age and fully prepared to face the consequences.
This assignment will be granted to the first individual who answers the call.

At the front desk, awaiting the fortunate or perhaps unfortunate soul who would take on the task, sat a lone, cloaked figure.

Their mask was a work of elegant craftsmanship, its smooth curves suggesting the visage of a fox or perhaps a cat, depending on the angle and the viewer’s imagination. They remained perfectly still, a silent sentinel amid the quiet murmur of the library. Around them, patrons browsed shelves for stories to escape into, recipes to attempt, or curiosities to rent or if their coin allowed, to purchase.

None of them seemed to notice the weight of the moment.

'click, clack, click' The shoes of the boy would hit the surface of the elegant floors of the library. He wasnt trying to be quiet right now, but he didnt want to make too much noise. He knew that this was going to be a... task. However, he felt deeply within his chest that there was something odd about this whole thing. Everything hinging on the return of the book, but his curiosity would certainly be sparked as he read the request from the scroll before entering into this place. Earlier in the week, he had been training, and his abilities of unlocking shadow jutsu while still using water or fire based techniques were becoming keen. With a bit more chakra input he would be able to change a fireball into a mass of black shadowy chakra. Or even his pressurized mist attack was now a drill of blackened chakra. The darkness was allowing his abilities to become abundantly more potent. So much so that he was becoming proud of his growth. He couldnt get ahead of himself though, with other students like Goro, Shinda, and others that he had not yet met or encountered, he would have to stay diligent.

So with a step of purpose, tired boy would be seen strolling into the library making his way to the cloaked individual, noting their attire, it intrigued him. The boy knew and had seen these people around the village. Though only for split moments. They were very strong he'd sensed... and they were skilled. To be able to vanish at a moments notice. This was something that would help Sabishii... to learn more about these... cloaked people. Who were they and how could he become one? Surely there was a catch... there was some sort of secret society of cloaked people that were employed within the village, maybe even by the head guy at the top.

Ghostly whisps would tendril up around Sabishii's legs before moving up to his shoulders one crimson the other blindingly white. Both were hollow with deep dark eye sockets that held no life and agape mouths that would not move even though they were speaking.

"...Here to return..."
"To find~ and returrrn~"

"...I am here to accept the ordinance for the stolen tome."

Fortunately for the Library and the Oracle waiting on someone to arrive, she would not have to wait long as her green eyes would glow behind the mask as she looked the boy up and down, noticing his little wisp friends around him. This was not the expected responder to the summons, but he would do as it had been offered to the village, primarily the lower ranking members. The others were busy preparing for the conflict with the Baron Twins that would come to ahead in a couple of days and the priority was on protecting the village and preparing to fight back against them so no more causalities needed to occur.

The masked figure would sigh momentarily before addressing the boy in front of her: "Sabishii, today is your lucky day. You were the first to accept the summons and the mission is yours. You are looking for a book that is red with two figures on the front of it. One is feminine and pink while the other is masculine and blue. They are holding hands. The name of the book is written in Runic Terran, which you can learn by reading the Annals of the Conqueror at a later date. The title is سوترا المتعة المقدسة which I am not telling you what that means." She would grab a piece of paper on the desk and scribble down the title onto it before extending her hand to the boy so he knew what it looked like if it would prove helpful for him in his search. She was glad that it was written in Runic Terran as it would have been embarassing for her to say especially knowing the age of the kid in front of her.

She would look back at him after a moment and speak again: "As the briefing says, under no circumstances are you to open the book. If you discover it open, immediately close it as you are not prepared for what the inside of the book has. It is not safe for the majority of the village to see and I do not want to be the one who has to explain to you what it is depicting. I have nothing more for you aside from the likely culprit is either a child going through puberty with their hormones out of balance or someone who is down on their luck and needing to find something to better their lives. You likely will find them hidden away or in seclusion as to not be found with that book. I hope at least."

She would sigh again at the boy and speak a few more words: "I have nothing else to say. You are dismissed. Please return as soon as you have the book in hand so I can put this matter behind us and speak about getting better security so this stops occurring."

Unspeakable. Sabishii's frown forming across his face would deepen. What in the world was going on that someone would be stealing... smut. The dark halls of the library at this time would echo in Sabishii's huff. His angst was something that would definitely become palpable. He wanted nothing more than to leave, but this would be a good mark on him if he was able to complete this simple task. He was smart enough to know where to find it. He did however have many questions before this woman would leave. He would assume it was a woman because of the tone of her voice, but it was a different world. Some men were hyper feminine. Which was definitely okay, Sabishii was not anyone to judge how anyone else lived their lives.

Grumbling after the woman would speak he'd nod, "Where was the book last seen?" he would cross his arms before the woman but regardless of her answer he would get to work. Moving to see if he could get any indication of where, or who might've stolen the book. He didnt understand why anyone would want to look at such stuff. It was disgusting, but someone had to want it given the circumstances of its disappearance. After the woman would leave, he'd move about. Seeing what he would be able to uncover before leaving leaving the library and venturing out.

[OOC: Thanks for this. I laughed my butt off reading this.]

A question would be asked from the boy to the Oracle who looked at him and walked away with no response to him as she had mentioned before, she had nothing else to say. It was his problem to figure out and he was not going to receive access to the room where it was last seen as she didn't need his young mind to be corrupted with the other literature in that room that children should never seen. But, this would not stop the boy from searching through the library where he would find nothing - not a footprint, not a piece of hair that could be used, and definitely no bodily liquids because the thief got excited. The analysis of the first floor was a failure, but the mission had just begun as he would leave the library and venture out.

As he walked out of the Oracle's Tower, he would notice a group of children to his right that were peeking down an alley with frightened looks on their faces. There was a little boy holding a teddy bear in his arm that fell as he continued to peek before shielding his eyes. Another boy was shaking in place, biting one of his nails as he fell to the ground and looked like he was overcome with a fear as he wetted himself. The last of the little group was a girl would was froze in place watching what was going down in the alley until something startled her and she ran off into the streets away from it, dropping a small coin purse in the process. Something had happened that was making these young children, likely a few years younger than Sabishii, feel a sense of fear as they reacted the ways that they did.

What would he do given the situation that had happened in front of him? Would he investigate the scene and see what he could find or would he try to get the item that the girl dropped and return it to her before she got too far away? Did he want to deviate from his mission and help some children or focus only on his mission at hand?

She simply walked away. 'Rude' the boy would think silently as he'd scratch the back of his head. The likelihood of him finding it would diminish if he didnt know where it was last located to know where it could be. The direction the insight. Alas, there was nothing that he could do. She wasnt going to turn back and give him anything more and thus he would have to go from a cold case to find something that may be anywhere by now. Unless, she knew the item was close. Closer than he might've thought. A hand on his chin as he'd think for a momentm would cause him to grow quiet enough to her a subtle commotion.

And he would find himself walking in the direction of where he'd heard something, but what? Down, much further down he would spot a trio. Young. Fairly younger than himself. Much like the urchins from the mission he'd been on with Goro and Shinda. However, these kids were out of place here. One was even holding a plush bear. The young girl dropped something as they would scurry about... what was this about? Could he be on the right track for the missing... lewd book? Maybe but he would call up the ghosts, "...Collect what the girl dropped... bring it to me.", He didnt have the best control over them yet and as they would attempt to get the coin purse, the utilization of his chakra wouldnt yet allow him to grasp it causing him to scoff silently.

"...fine..." the silent boy would mumble and march to it. Picking it up before looking up to see where the trio had gone. He would try to return her purse before finishing looking for this, but what had startled them? He would continue looking around to see if there were any clues...

"...Hm, whats going on around here..."

The young student of the village would decide to retrieve the coin purse for the little girl who ran off after something frightened her. An admirable thing to do, but the girl was nowhere to be seen unfortunately leaving him with a item that had nothing extraordinary in it: a few coins, some lip gloss and a small nail filer. He would have to decide what to do with this item once his mission was over, but he had to determine somewhere to go first. The two boys were still nearby looking terrified as the teddy bear holding one had proceeded to vomit onto the wall near where he was standing while the other had began to cry as his pants were wet enough to look like a pipe had burst. Poor kids.

The one that had puked would walk over to him, vomit still on his face, as he tugged on the boy's sleeve and looked up at him. There were tears in his eyes as his voice was shaking as he spoke: "Som...som...something scar...scar...scary down the...the...there. Ple..ple...please help." Something clearly had these two boys, and the girl who ran off, terrified that was down there. Was it a dog? A dead body? Two lovers becoming one? It was hard to tell, but whatever it was, the children were scared enough to be losing control of their bodies' functions.

These children were probably scared of something that scurried around that they could not see that made a commotion and then they made comments to stroke fear into one another as children tended to do as they were developing. If Sabishii was to go over and look in the alley, he would discover a dumpster with trash laying around it. There were trashcans scattered throughout the alley, filled to the brim with, well, trash. It was hard to see anything as the alley was covered from above with a tapestry from one of the residents that lived in the apartments above. There was a musky odor however that could be smelt from where the children originally were standing. The alley looked normal all things considered aside from an old chest that sat against one of the walls with a chain attached to its side to hold it in place when transporting it.

Remarkably, Sabishii didnt think too much of the kid with the vomit on him that grabbed him by the sleeve, before this Sabishii had been a dirty unkempt boy, then the Hokkyoku took him in and he was able to clean up and such. So this, was barely an inconvenience... the tired eyes of Sabishii would look down the alley. His eyes squinting as he would try to make out what was going on with it. The Trash seemed to be filled to the brim. Even as he would pace to the trash, he could smell it. The musk. The heavy odor that would make a normal person's stomach, it would do the same to Sabishii's but he was able to control his reflex to vomit with sheer will for the moment.

He had gotten off the eaten path of the mission which he'd have to turn around soon, but he needed to make sure there was nothing that needed to be reported. For such a reaction in the kids it would have to be something out of the ancient lore? Were they more scary than the ghosts that would travel with Sabishii? And as if on queue the Ghosts would push upwards from his shadows.

"...What do you see~"
"...Nothing nothing do you see~"

"...Ugh... the smell is pungent."

Sabishii would use the ghosts to move about the trash to see what would come out. He was prepared to defend himself if need be.

The young boy of sprites would decide to go down the unbeaten path of filth, grim and uncertainty to investigate what the children of Suna were terrified about. A wise decision to use his buddies to help clear the trash as they would discover a book amongst all of it. It red in color and did have a pink lady and blue man on the cover! It looked like he had successfully found the book...unfortunately, the title was not in Runic Terrain and read GET OUT!!!!

Before Sabishii or his little friends could react, he would feel a hand from behind him that threw him further down the alley, smacking into the chest that was lying on the ground. If Sabishii was listening closely enough, he could hear breathing from within the chest before hands would attempt to grab his sides, but miss him likely due to his small stature. This would enrage the chakra-infused chest as it stood up from its spot and rushed past Sabishii towards the person who threw him mere moments earlier. The individual would be grabbed instantly as the chest opened its mouth showing its long tongue and teeth and proceeded to consume the individual. However, it was a clone that poofed which caused the chest to scream as it ran back towards Sabishii stopping near the dumpster before shaking it violently, tipping it over.

Among the few pieces of trash, a handful at best, would be a figure with their pants down bearing their manlihood to the world and a book. From where Sabishii stood, he could see the book was red and appeared to have two figures on it with the title written in a similar format as what was on the paper given to him earlier. He also would be able to see a form of discharge leaking from the dumpster, likely related to trash ripping open and liquids building up from days of neglect. But, did that truly matter at the moment as the chest was looking, if you could call it that, at the male that came out of the container and was slamming its hands on the ground like it saw its next piece of prey. The man laying on the ground showed fear in his eyes at the creature and yelled at: "HELP ME! OH MY GOD! WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT!"

It would rush at the male with its hands ready to grab and devour its next victim that wandered down its alley. The question was would it be successful and Sabishii would see a death before his very eyes? Would Sabishii help another individual that was scared to the point of losing their bodily fluids? The book was also laying there on the ground opening up an opportunity to grab it and run with it, hoping that it was the correct book and not another fake one to throw him off or ambush him.

What would Sabishii do in this predicament?

It was quick and sudden, but Sabishii had the speed enough to back out of the situation. However, even if he was fast enough to notice, it didnt mean he was fast enough to react. Getting thrown down the alley he would slam into the chest that sprung into life. What in the hell was going on. The thud of his collision made his ears ring. Everything sounded like he'd been hit with a flash bang. Alas, he would stand and see the chest holding the dumpster up into the air releasing a man, and garbage and other items. 'The book?' he would se as the book would display something he truly didnt care about. It did however make his cheeks turn pink. Though as the chest would go to attack, Sabishii would rush forward forming handsigns for a Shadowy Fireball!

"Shadow Release: Ball of Flame!" he'd call out before aiming the attack at the chest. Hoping he would be able to nab the book along with svaing the man and dishing damage to the chest. With his attack the Ghosts would swirl up infusing their shadowy chakra into the burning red ball of flames. All at once it would shoot out down the alley and to the chest. Would his attack land? He didnt know however, he would attempt something else if all else failed.

He needed to get the book for his mission. He wanted to protect the man. Even though he seemed to be a perv.

A fiery, shadowy ball of flame was sent from the Tired Boy and successfully hit the chest, lighting the entire chest on fire as it screamed out in agony. The legs of the chest would burn a bright yellow-orange hue before disintegrating beneath the creature, collapsing it onto the ground. This would not stop the creature from trying to get its prey however as it continued to crawl to the scared male in the alley with Sabishii, its claws scrapping on the ground as it was not giving up its opportunity for its next meal. Unfortunately for the creature, it was being burned alive from the mysterious fireball that the child used and soon its hands would collapse from its body as it felt to the ground with a loud thump, laying there screaming in agony mere inches from the man. At this point, the lewd, perverted man (or at least what Sabishii was likely assuming) had lost control of his bowels and stained the alley with his body's excrement as his face showed it all, he was experiencing shock.

The book was two arm lengths away from the man as the creature continued to burn alive, screaming with each passing second. It was not a threat at this point and could be left alone to die a slow, painful death if Sabishii wanted it to. The opportunity to take the book was open if he wished to grab it and hightail it out of this weird, odd situation that he found himself in. If he were to look down the alley, the children had left that were watching earlier probably due to the creature rampaging and causing a ruckus that freighted them. However, it seemed like nobody else had been watching from what Sabishii could tell, but the village was always watching in some way.

The choice was up to the boy now. He had located the book that he had been asked to retrieve and he had prevented a casualty today even if the male book thief had been using the book for questionable tactics that resulted in white liquids to spill from the dumpster earlier along with his shit and piss staining the ground. A disgusting state of affairs especially for a preteen to have to experience.

Sabishii stood and coughed as the thick black fire would whisk from his mouth as he released his technique. 'Good shot.' he'd think for the moment. However, the work seemed not to be over. "Stubborn" snorting Sabishii would move forward. Moving his body passed the book. This was definitely not the smartest move but he didnt want this guy to die by some weird chest. It would definitely not be something Sabishii would want to happen during a point where he was present for a mission. He was obviously being watched, and he had to ensure everything he was doing and being watched for was on the up and up.

What that meant for the chest was something odd that Sabishii would take into account. From his wrist he would call forth from a seal his polearm! It would come into view as he would pull it from the seal before twirling the wooden handle and using a Impaling Thrust forward into the front side of the chest. He would try to breach the wood and find the insides of the beast. And with the thrust he would attempt to use his power to push the chest back and away from the man.

"...c'mon!..." he'd manage out a bit. He knew the book wasnt far but he had to finish this thing off if he would have any conscious about what went down here. Whatever conscious he had left.

For better and for worse depending on which end of the predicament one was on, the thrust into the animated chest was successful without a shadow of a doubt as the creature flew backwards from the back, crashing into the nearby wall and screaming more. Within moments of the impact, the chest laid there on the ground continuing to burn as its mouth hung open. Any signs of breathing had stopped as a cloud of ash and smoke would fill the air near the asset-bearing male and Sabishii. There was nothing left for the boy to do that required using a weapon or technique as the male would slowly pull up his underwear and pants, his back turned to the boy.

Upon turning around to face the boy, he would look at him with a blush of embarrassment on his face before giving a quick response: "You can take the book back to the library and we will pretend that this never happened between us, agreed? I am sure you do not want to tell an Oracle or another adult what you stumbled on today and then have to go into more details. It will be our little secret." He would then proceed to walk in the direction opposite of the book towards the busy, bustling streets that Sabishii originally came from. After encountering an inanimate object taking on life and a small child catching him with his pants around his ankles, that man wanted nothing more to do with the situation nor stay around to allow any questioning from the child. Nope, it was better to leave when he did and move on with his day. That likely would not be as easy for Sabishii as he would have to retrieve the book, praying that it was not stained inside or out with bodily fluids or leakage from trash, and get the book safely back to the library without any more weird events occurring for him.

He was likely used to weird things though with his little sprite buddies around him. The book was there for the taking though and he was likely safe from any more surprises for now from random people, places or things. The chest was not moving nor breathing, the mysterious stroker was gone and it was only Sabishii, his little buddies and his thoughts.

Sabishii would nod at his work. Looking at the crushed chest. Trying not to look at the exposed backside of the man before him. This was disgusting and quite hilarious to Sabishii he chuckled. An odd hint of a happy laugh would come from the young man. He'd looked down at his hand noticing the size difference for what it was, and he'd chuckle again. Shaking his head and wait for the man to turn back around. Nodding his head, the boy would listen for the moment before looking at the book and returning his face to a familiar frown. He'd take the book, take his weapon resealing it on his wrist as he'd nod beginning back down the alley towards the library.

This was interesting, to Sabishii at least. There were people out there that did the strangest things. For the weirdest reasons. None of which Sabishii understood at this point in his life. He would soon realize though, these things... these weird things that people would do, were just things that helped people get through it. Everyone had their quirk. The thing that made them tick. Something that helped them through the dark moments. A drug. An addiction. Whatever it maybe... everyone. everyone had something. What was Sabishii's vice? What would it be? Could it already be something that he carried that he didnt think was bad?

Would he ever find it? Or was he already mentally trying to discern if what he felt was fact or fiction? Was it... Y-... No. It couldnt be. It would never be. He would have to find something. Something else. What? Who knew... but it couldnt be... her. The boy's thoughts would flood back, as he made his way back to complete his mission.

The book was retrieved by the young student of the village and he headed back to the Oracle's Library. His journey to the library was an uneventful one with no surprises, no questionable things spawning nor any interruptions. It would allow him to reflect on matters that unfolded earlier this today and try to come up with an explanation for how he obtained the book if he was questioned by the masked woman again. He was fortune that the only person that had been involved in his mission was a lewd male that wanted some reading material to make himself happy and not some corporation or organization that would make matters more difficult for himself and the village. At least this time. Future missions could and likely would be more dangerous and involved than this one was.

Upon his return, he would see the same woman sitting on the desk again. She would look at the boy when she noticed him and put her hand out to take the item from him when he approached her. If he chose to hand it off to her, she would give him a quick nod and say "That would be the book. You may leave now and I will let the village know to compensate you." She would then proceed to walk away with the book upstairs to the Restricted Area that was only for Oracles' eyes to see. Later in the day, she would sneak the book back into the concealed room and pray that there was not enough individual or group that would try to break into the room and steal it again - it was likely to happen though.

If Sabishii did not give the book immediately after arriving, she would stay in her spot and wait for the book and any question or comments that he had. He didn't seem like the most talkative child though that she had come across so she doubted he would have much to say.

Sabishii would bow to the woman once he would march in the library. He didnt want to waste any time with this. So he would hand over the disgusting book to the woman without a second of hesitation. Looking to the cloaked woman with a frown, "Thank you... sorry such a book was taken from this place... it should be respected. Not... this." He'd mutter before looking back to the woman and then turning heel to leave. He was sure this wouldnt be the first time he would see her, if it was a her, but he knew he would have more missions that he would take for the library because literature and history should be respected.

"...See ya...", Without a second word he would head out... back home to Yuka to see what she would want him to do next.

She was of course... his mistress.
