Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

"Whoah!" A man took a few steps back, bringing his backpack across his body in an attempt to protect himself. It was a futile effort and absolutely unnecessary. You would think that after so long people would have gotten used to it by now, but honestly that didn't seem like it was going to happen anytime soon.

Kyou shook her head as she continued walking along the street with her rather large canine companion at her side. It was always like this on shopping day and it was precisely why she didn't take him to the hospital shifts, even though that meant her combat capability was rather severely reduced, though that didn't matter as much seeing as what her duties were. Well no matter. She glanced over to the rather large dog, noticing its' heavy breathing. The weather really wasn't doing the Tibetan Mastiff any favours at all. She had considered giving him a haircut, but that wasn't exactly the best thing to do.... especially after what happened last time she tried that. A cold shiver still ran down her spine every time she reacalled that day.

"Sorry that we had to go out in the middle of the day. The kunoichi finally spoke, which prompted her companion to look over to her and bark. To her it was a confirmation and a smile of sorts, but to the onlookers it just seemed like the beast was going to attack at any time. The crowds of people around them instanly parted, allowing any onlookers to get a better view of the duo. What they would end up seeing is a rather short woman, appearing to be in her teens, dressed in a plain white shirt with a pair of white tracksuit bottoms and a pair of sandals, however she wasn't the one that was gathering most of the stares. No. It was her companion, namely the large Tibetan Mastiff, who was easily reaching her chest in terms of height. His breed was generally large, but this specimen was without a shadow of a doubt large by even those standards.

[Hopefully that is a good enough entry point]

“Excuse me Si- Wah!” Kichiru was pushed back suddenly, sending his bag of groceries tumbling to the ground. “Ah.. Uh.. That's okay.. It was just a mistake, sorry!” he instinctively spoke out without even looking to the man who had suddenly jumped backwards into him, nearly knocking the boy off his feet. The man looked back at him in the corner of us his eye, quickly responding “Oh, uh, sorry kid. It's just-” before staring back towards the center of a some sort of spectacle that had managed to instantaneously part the large crowd of people.

“Excuse me. Coming through, excu-” His eyes lit up as he broke through the edge of the crowd, dropping his retrieved groceries once more to the ground, a few pieces of fruit rolling out only to be snatched by someone at the edge of the crowd without Kichiru even giving a moment to notice as his attention was focused on the giant canine that seemed to be the cause of the commotion. Never before had he seen a dog nearly this size, almost rivaling that of some of the beasts of the stories he would read that stalked the desert plains, waiting for their next victim or to be defeated by the awe-inspiring hero.

Except there was one difference to this situation. Kichiru loves animals. And that was likely apparent to the young woman as he would instantly try and run over to the gigantic Tibetan Mastiff to try and pet it, if he could even reach. “He's the biggest dog I've ever seen! Can I pet him? Please, please, please miss? I promise I won't pull on his fur or scratch him or anything!”

Hakuren has many pets in which she likes to control. As a Yamanaka she can possess animals and explore the village without physically leaving her room. It was a very handy reconnaissance technique and she was quite good at it. Today she was hopping around in the body of a hare. This rodent was a naïve to the desert climate that surrounded the village and thus it attracted little attention.

Hakuren loved watching people form this particular point of view. It was interesting to see the world from an animals prospective. As she makes her journey through the streets, she notices a few pieces of fruit rolling on the ground. She sprints for the food and full speed while dodging the feet of the giants that commonly roamed the area. She manages to grab an apple before anybody else got to it. Eagerly she nibbles into the fresh fruit like a squirrel puffing up her cheeks with food. Though they may be merely roads to average people, they were long and busy highway to a bunny.

She has become quite hungry in her adventure and the juices from the fruit was very refreshing. It was then she noticed the beast in its companion. The canine was huge and hairy and did not look like a desert animal. Hakuren could only assume that its owner was an inuzuka. A boy who she guessed was a student due to his apparent age rushed to the dog. Hakuren continues to eat her snack as the kid asks for permission to pet the dog.

As the crowd gathered two more would look curiously at the gathering. Two figures of opposite statures. The first was a larger man of almost giant proportions. He could have been called fat, yes, but he could have also been described as big boned. That is what he was indeed. The other man was of a smaller frame. He was thin, but wiry. Whereas the giant looked rather relaxed and good in health, the other looked to be exhausted and anxious. The mountain of a man was bald, and the smaller of the two had spiky purple hair. The larger of the two, Lord Akamichi Nobu. Sunan Noble. CEO of his own business. Well to do business man. The other. Takahashi Sousuke, Kazekage. Equally of noble birth, but less financially successful. Nobu let out a hearty chuckle. "My word. That canine is grand isn't he?" Nobu would chuckle. He would turn to see his liege lord who couldn't quite see the dog due to the crowd.

As the crowd parted, Sousuke finally got a look, as did his own companion. A very average looking husky. The canine let out a few barks which was some sort of greeting or another. Sousuke's brows raised as he saw the size of the canine in question. "Quite large indeed. Exceptional."<i></i> His eyes narrowed. "Fascinating."<i></i> He had never quite seen a dog that was ... not a summon or otherwise that size.

Nobu would turn once more to the Kazekage. "I trust that you will join me for dinner tonight. I do need your review on those books. I am placing a bid to purchase that business. I wanted you to confirm that the numbers were solid and not extra legal." Sousuke was still focused on the dog. He nodded his head. "Also I met that lawyer you suggested for my martial break up. Good man that Hashigaki Matsu Murdoch." As per usual Sousuke once he saw something new or fascinating would obsess over said thing. "Be sure to visit that cleaner. Go get that suit I had ordered for you. You need to look the part of what you are now. The big man would finally counsel him before leaving him be.

"Yes, yes eight o'clock, Red Swann. See you Nobu."<i></i> Sousuke said as he watched a boy push his way through and inquires if he could pet the giant canine. Curious indeed. Sousuke's husky would let out a whine. She too wanted to go up and greet the fellow canine, but not without permission granted. Sousuke watched for a response to come from the owner or the canine first.

Why did it always turn out this way? Sheesh... people really hadn't been able to get used to her companion over the last ten years. She supposed it was just new people coming in that made the scenes, but no point in crying over spilled milk was there? Kyou let out a small sight as she prepared to continue on her way with the hope that people would relax as they noticed nothing was going to happen. It was an unlikely option but one could dream, right?

A sudden far away bark caught her attention as she half-turned in that direction, which mirrored the mastiff's reaction as he also looked in that direction and slightly tilted its head to the left. He didn't bark back, even though he had heard the barks just as his master had. Why? Simple he was lazy and didn't feel like doing much in this weather. It was far, far too warm to want to do anything. Maybe he would have responded if the other dog was closer or they both recognized each other, however that wasn't the case really.

No matter. Time to make a stealthy escape and move on from the crowds and yet again their advance was halted, though by someone closer this time and someone they couldn't honestly ignore. Kyou stopped in her tracks and looked over her companion, leaning onto his back as she glanced over at the boy approaching from the other side of her companion. "This old dog won't bite." She would announce, her voice warm even though her expression was fairly neutral. The dog would glance over to his master, questioning being called old, a wordless question yet one she clearly understood. "Oh please you are my age. You are ancient for a dog." Kyou would shrug as her companion looked away from her and focused on her boy. He could have moved away and made his master have to find a new spot to lean on, but he didn't do so. "Not afraid of oversized dogs then?" The woman would ask and if Kichiru had been to the hospital a lot in the past few years he would most-likely recognize her as one of the med nin who worked there on a daily basis.

As the boy approached the dog wouldn't really move, allowing the kid to get as close as he wanted to, although that would quickly change if he tried to do anything to his master or got tried to scratch him behind the ears. If Kichiru was to attempt the latter the huge mastiff would attempt to lick his face, most-likely covering him in slobber completely when taking into account the sheer size of the canine.

It only took the first few words from Kyou for Kichiru to step forward towards the large mastiff and start petting him. Never before had he seen such a large beast, as it towered over even the young woman who seemed to be his owner. As he was petting the dog, simply at this point running his fingers through the forest of fluffy fur, he looked over towards Kyou in confusion “Wait, did he... Did you just respond to him?” It seemed that every day the young Kichiru was learning something new, though he supposed that was simply par for the course since he had entered the Academy.

At this point, he had moved around to the other side of the mastiff, attempting to actually see Kyou rather than have the majority of his vision of her obstructed. “Well I figured since he was so calm around the big crowd it would be okay! Wait, I've seen you before!” Though, the fact of the matter was that Kichiru spent his days wandering about the village meeting new people. Sometimes it was hard to keep track of where he had gone on a certain day and who he had met, though this was a special case. He was certain of where he had seen Kyou before, though he didn't know too much about her. It had been on one of the days he had visited the new hospital, a year or so after the destruction of the old medical facility where his late sister had worked.

“You're from the hospital! Right? My sister worked there. Well, at the old one. But, anyway, it's nice to finally actually meet you! I'm Kichiru!” He would smile up towards Kyou, extending one hand out to her while continuing to pat the dog with his other. Though, whether or not the young woman decided to shake the hand of the young boy would depend on her reaction to the next moment, as her warning seemed to come a bit too late as he idly was petting and now lightly scratching the dog. As he extended his hand, he noticed in the corner of his eye the large dog moving his head towards Kichiru. “Huh?” And in one fel swoop of the large dog's tongue, Kichiru was assaulted with a wave of slobber from the dog that likely weighed at least three times as much as the young student. “Wah!” The young boy wiped the slobber from his eyes and began looking around towards the crowd that still was likely to be watching the movements of the canine and her owner.

“Hahahaha!” Laughter erupted from the young boy as he withdrew his hand away from Kyou and walked over to the front of the dog and tried to reach to scratch behind his ears, even though this would likely be quite the difficult task for someone his size. Regardless of whether the dog decided to quite literally cover the child in slobber, it didn't seem to bother Kichiru as long as he could quickly wipe it away from his face and continue playing with the dog. This is so awesome! Wait until I tell my Mom! She isn't going to believe it!

Hakuren’s rabbit ears perks as she overhears another conversation going on. This gathering attracted Hakuren’s attention far more than a boy petting a fairly large canine. She can watch a boy get completely slobbered on any day, this was far more special. Hakuren hops towards the kazekage and her ears focus in on him. They spoke of business and legal matters; something that continued to catch her interest. From what she could gather this Nobu the kage called him was recently divorced and is now in the in the business to buying a company. Looks like the ordeal with his ex-wife has made him a little paranoid. He doesn’t trust the numbers given to him. She may have to find this Red Swann for further investigation.

Sousuke and Kitchy watched as the youth interacted with the large canine. Said youth was then slobbered upon. Kitchy made a sort of nervous bark at that point. The female canine looked to her owner, and Sousuke in turn exchanged glances. No response. Nothing at all. Not even a return bark. Was the mastiff being rude? Was he being lazy? Was he being a snob? Difficult to say. Sousuke had no answer himself. If Yume was here, she could probably acquire an answer for him. "Don't worry about it girl."<i></i> Sousuke patted his husky on the head. The canine barked jubilantly.

Curiously now Sousuke noticed a hare looking at him intently. Was this the same hare as...? No. No. It couldn't be. Could it. It wasn't the same one that had gotten into his office. He scratched the back of his head. It wasn't that the hare was native. It was just ... that it was here. In a highly populated area. Swarming with people. Usually hares or rabbits scurried away from people. This one was exceedingly brave. Sousuke would ring his hands as he observed this curious brave hare. It was indeed larger than a rabbit. The ears were longer, and there were black markings on the fur. Again. Sousuke continue to ring his hands. His thoughts were interrupted as he received a call on his headset. Sousuke tapped the side of his head. Part of his face slightly became incased by metal. "I'm here. ... ... ... Yes? ... ... ... No. ... ... ... Quite. ... ... ... No. Nobu wants me to go meet him for dinner. ... ... ... No. ... ... ... No grandmother. ... ... ... ... No. ... ... ... No I'm not bringing you around so you can spend the night drinking for what in all intents and purposes is a free bar. ... ... ... No. I'm not being cheap. I'm being responsible. ... ... ... ... ... Listen to me. No. ... ... ... Fine. ... ... ... At least have the decency to not wear your military coat that has not be ... ... ... Wear something decent ... ... ... NO."<i></i> With a mild frustration Sousuke ended the call. The headset faceplate receded and hid itself around his neck. Sousuke shook his head.

Next he held out his hand and seeming out of thin air produced a clipboard and a series of papers. He would next summon an artist pencil. He would motion with his metallic arm for Kitchy to come with him. The two of them would approach the Tibetan Mastiff. Again. Kitchy would attempt to play nice and barked three times. It was another greeting. "Excuse me... would you mind ... showing me your paw? I'd like to sketch it. For science. I heard you remarked about age ... I suspect this is his fully matured size?<i></i>

Kyou glanced over to her companion, clearly somewhat confused at the question as he glanced back over towards her. "Yes?" She half-asked and remained quiet for a few more moments before adding. "I've been with him for over twenty years at this point, so I can understand him quite well and the same goes the other way around." The medic would nod, still leaning on the mastiff.

She would carefully observe the boy as he walked over and around the dog, giving her a chance to look him up and down a lot easier than before. "Oh? I do work at the hospital yes, but I can't say that I know who your sister is unfortunately. I would need a bit of a hint at least. Maybe her name or what she looks like. After all there are quite a few people working there." Kyou would smile briefly, turning to face him rather than looking at him from the side just as he got a face full of slobber. As that wasn't an uncommon occurrence she was prepared for it as she quickly reached into her pocket and took out a handkerchief, although it seemed to be an unnecessary gesture as the kid proceeded to wipe himself off with his sleeve. " I am pretty sure your parents would prefer it if you don't get your clothes unnecessarily dirty." She would have continued the lecture if she wasn't interrupted by yet another individual brave enough to come close to the giant monster that was her cuddly companion. Now that the bark was getting closer the mastiff obliged and barked back himself, his voice deep and coarse as one would expect from a dog his size.

Kyou quickly turned so that she was facing both the boy and the approaching man, taking a moment to study him as well, realization quickly sparking in her eyes as she recognized who he was. "I honestly don't know. He is twenty one human years at this point since he has been with me since I was a baby." The mastiff himself turned away from the crowd and moved over to stand next to his master, facing the now approaching Kage, raising his massive paw as he had been instructed. "I assume he isn't going to grow much larger, well other than getting fatter that is." Kyou glanced over with a light smirk, the mastiff quickly looking away from her as if offended.

[My apologies for the delay. Haven't really been able to get a decent amount of sleep lately.]

“Oh! You probably wouldn't know her! She worked in the old facility. She was really brave and I heard when she passed away it was because she went back in to the facility to save more patients when it was destroyed! She's a hero and her name is Maki Kasumi, and I want to make sure everyone knows her name!” He seemed extremely proud of his sister's memory, to the point where his pride completely overshadowed any sort of sadness one might expect from a young child speaking of their recently deceased sibling. Yet, he wasn't even sure if he felt any sorrow himself. Sure, he missed her and wished she hadn't died, but he was certain that she had died a hero, and therefore it was something to be proud of, not mournful. She not only accomplished her normal duties as a med-nin, but she also helped accomplish any amazing things that would happen as a result of those patients surviving. While she might have only saved a handful of people, one day that will turn into a few hundred, and hundreds of years from now she would have saved millions simply by helping those choice few survive and have families of their own.

“Ahah, it's fine! I've been learning Water jutsu! So I can just clean them up myself!” Kichiru smiled towards Kyou as he gave her a thumbs-up, as he was obviously proud of having learned one of his first Ninjutsu recently after partaking in his class at the Academy. He had learned that every Ninja had an instinctive affinity to one of the elements, and he wondered which he would find within himself. It would certainly be a long, interesting journey to find out the instinctive talents, if any, that the young student had within.

Mostly focused on playing with the dog, it took Kichiru the deep bark of the canine, which was quite sudden, to shake him away from his intense focus on him and Kyou. He suddenly turned around, only to have his eyes widen instantly as he was faced with one of the greatest living figures of the stories he had read and heard: The Kazekage. They said that in order to become the Kazekage, one would have to not only be the strongest, but also one of the most intelligent shinobi in the entire village. And here was that shinobi, standing right in front of Kichiru. The boy didn't even process the conversation between Kyou and the Kazekage, only managing to get out “Lord.. Kazekage.. I.. Kichiru.. Hello!” His face had, by this point, turned a deep shade of crimson as the reality of the situation truly set in. Kichiru, the eight-year-old Academy Student, only standing a few feet away from one of his greatest idols in the entirety of Sunagakure. Now if only he could form a complete sentence.

Warning, target shows signs of suspicion. Hare’s position has been compromised. Abort the mission and engage evacuation proto-call.

Hakuren pulls her consciousness out of the animal and suddenly the bunny loses all bravery it once had. The rabbit brakes out in a full sprint away from the Kage and his dog. It runs to a nearby flower shop and enters it though a doggy door.

Sousuke began to rapidly sketch the paw that he was being shown. His mechanical arm rapidly getting in the fur lines, the details of the actual paw print. He put in the dimensions of the paw print as he worked away. He raised eye eyebrows as his age was mentioned. "I assure you getting larger isn't a bad thing. It used to be quite fashionable to be quite large... and if you ask some of my nobles it is still a fashionable thing."<i></i> Sousuke would lean forward slightly holding up the clipboard so as to block part of his face as he spoke in a slightly more hushed tone to the Mastiff. "Big is certainly in, most of my more ... critical response armours are like ... three to four times my size."<i></i> He would lower the clipboard and he would tap his nose accordingly. He would motion to his Husky next. "Kitchy used to be ... alot larger, and walked on two legs. She used to be a mechanical construct until well... let's just say a well time good accident happened that changed her form and ... well ... changed her constitution entirely from a T-Rex that had been made from an oven."<i></i> At the mention of this Kitchy's eyes narrowed. Well. She did lose alot of weight. She went from a staggering 400 pounds to a very two digit numbers. Kitchy knew her weight. She didn't share it, only with Yume.

Sousuke turned his head as he noticed the youngling present. He watched and listened intently as the Kichiru mustered all of his courage to greet him. Sousuke never really understood why people had such a hard time breaking ice with him as it were. Ice breaking. Yes. That metaphorical ... saying his father had for trying to make an introduction as it were. "Yes. Kirichu of the House Maki."<i></i> The youngling whose family was crushed by the death of their daughter. Sousuke had heard words of his tales of how his sister had became a hero of sorts. It had seemed that for the moment, he had been able to work through his grief. Remarkable how children worked their minds to engineer a way out of things. "Greetings indeed."<i></i> Now then. Small talk. The hard part. "My son is almost half of your age. I wonder if that means I'm getting old..."<i></i> He mused. Aki wasn't his son by birth, but he was nearing his fourth year. "In fact. I myself am... a little over 3.5 times your age. A frightening prospect. At least I am not my grandmother's age who is eight times your age."<i></i>

[I might or might not have spent all of my free time playing pokemon go... sorry....]

" Oh... my appologies for bringing a memory like that up. I'm sure she was a great sister if she was willing to go that far for others." Kyou would glance down to the ground for a moment, quickly glancing back up with a light smile. At least she didn't have to think about the awkwardness of the entire situation with the arrival of the Kazekage. In essence he was the saving grace of the entire moment for certain as it did give her something else to focus on and appeared to be more than enough to divert the boys attention away from the relatively grim topic.

" A T-rex?" She would ask, glancing over at the husky with a raised eyebrow. It was relatively clear that the dog was not a dinosaur and nor did it seem like it wasn't a living breathing creature. Sure this was a world of chakra where puppets could appear human, but this didn't seem to be the case, or at least so her nose told her. Kyou would take a couple of steps forwards, circling the husky and trying to get a better view from all sides "I can't take this canine as being anything other than real." The kunoichi would note, still not quite believing it. "Even the smell is authentic."

This is how it usually went when a stranger learned of his sister's fate for the first time. He understood what they thought, what they felt, though he always had turned his negative emotions into positive ones. That sadness into pride. Missing her into cherishing the memories they shared. His failures into lessons that she would teach him if she still could. Regardless of where she was now, he knew that she had left a piece of her with him. Not a blade or a necklace or anything of that sort, but she left her good will with him. Her intense empathy for other people that led her to sacrifice her own life for those she hadn't said more than a few words to. She understood what it meant to be a part of this village; she understood what it meant to be a part of the history of pride and strength that Sunagakure held. We were not a weak people. No, we were resilient. At least, that's what all the stories he read all said.

The boy nodded, still slightly getting over the shock of having the Kazekage, of all people, standing right next to him nonchalantly. Kichiru had always been a social child, always able to laugh and tell stories and care deeply for anyone he met. Though this was a special case, in which the stories that inspired him, alongside his sister of course, seemed to come to life before his very eyes. And not only that, it seemed the Kazekage knew him, or his family at least. He laughed out at the Kazekage's comment, seemingly feeling a bit more at ease as the man spoke to him and Kyou.

“I heard stories of people who were ten times your age and still could take on the strongest of monsters, so I don't think you have anything to worry about Kazekage-Sama.” If the Kazekage would take the time to examine the boy, he would only seen kindness behind his eyes. Perhaps he would interpert that as naivete or innocence, but it was certain that the boy truly believed the words he spoke. They weren't meaningless compliments or attempts at getting in the best-wishes of those in power. In a world of deception and violence, Maki Kichiru was genuine.

Sousuke would placed his hands behind the back of his neck. He stretched slightly. "Vita-Rays."<i></i> He explained. "I was working in the lab one day. I was trying to get rid of the machinery. I had judged it too dangerous and far too powerful to allow it to fall in the hands of the wrong people."<i></i> He paused for a moment as to how best approach this subject. "Energy cannot be created or destroyed. It merely is transferred. That energy, the vita-ray was transferred unto two ... mechanical constructs. The first was a toy for my Ward's ... child. A toy I had made for him, it was a snake with butterfly wings. Remarkably it survived the process and was very much a eating, breathing, creature."<i></i> Sousuke held up a small plasma version of the creature. The snake-fly's wing fluttered about as it flew about encircling Maki and then Kyou. "You've met the second."<i></i> Kitchy let out a woof at that moment. "Vita-Rays are ... something of an enigma. The conversion process was very much real. Kitchy had to get used to eatting steaks and kibble unlike her old diet of nuts and bolts."<i></i>The canine let out a low woof of sorts, which translated to her experience with the change in diet. It was a very hard change to get used to, but she had indeed made it though.

"Ten times my age? Give or take a few decades. Three hundred years old."<i></i> Sousuke seemed to have some difficulty in processing that. "Well, those sorts of individuals are few and far between. Those individuals are of remarkable and extraordinary powers."<i></i> He paused for a moment and considered it further. His eyes shifted skyward. It would be a lonely existence wouldn't it be? If you were three hundred years old, and those around you who you loved and were friends with were long dead because they could not acquire the skill set you had unlocked with most likely some forbidden and terrible costs. Did Maki want him to consider these facts? His gaze would shift downward as he turned to regard the child. No. The child did not seem to consider those factors. No it was merely childish glee manifested. Extraordinary tales were after all sometimes something to aspire to. "Time is a curious thing. I wonder how much quickly time pasts for those people."<i></i>

Kyou would end up staring relatively blankly almost through the entirety of the explanation she was given with regards to how the husky right in front of her was supposedly some sort of mechanical dinosaur turned dog through some magic. Whilst it was safe to say she didn't have absolutely any issues believing stories like that when it came to chakra, after all she had a giant mastiff as her companion, which wasn't exactly a normal thing, especially when you consider how old he was at this point. It really was something one never saw. So when one considers the probability of something like this meeting happening you are reaching astronomically low probabilities. Well the world works in some very strange ways doesn't it? "Vita-Rays?" She would finally repeat before growing quiet once more, trying to wrap her mind around it. That however was relatively pointless. Kyou really wasn't a smart person and the only reason she fared fairly well in the medical branch was because of how much that was drilled into her from a young age.

"Well if you say so I will take your word for it." She would nod and glance down at Kitchy, extending her left hand palm up so that she can show friendliness in a way. With her height Kyou didn't really need to kneel down or anything of the like in order to do so, one might say that it was the sole benefit of being considered a hobbit. "Are you visiting this part of town for anything in specific or are you just going for a walk, Kazekage-sama?" The medic would ask as soon as the other discussion has calmed down slightly before quickly adding. "Not that there is anything wrong with that...that came out wrong... I mean if there is anything I can do to help I would be more than happy to."

[Not my best piece of work I admit. I'll hopefully be able to post daily from now on since work calmed down quite a bit]
[MFT]

The boy blinked absently as he stared towards the Sousuke "Vita....rays?" completely unaware of such a thing existing. Kichiru had read many stories, though none of them seemed to mention the term 'Vita-Rays'. This must be one of the true powers behind that which may call himself the leader of the shinobi of Sunagakure. This form of brilliance and ingenuity baffled the young student as the Kazekage spoke of creation through machinery and these sort of 'Vita-Rays' rather than the normal elements and chakra that Kichiru had learned about in his studies at the academy.

"You... created life!?" It was true indeed; The Kazekage was a man of great wisdom and power, seemingly able to create not only life, but unique life that had not seen the face of this world before. His eyes twinkled with that of child-like wonder as he stared up towards the Kazekage as he created a physical manifestation of what the creature looked like out of what appeared to be some sort of plasma, though Kichiru was not familiar with the substance himself as he had only just skimmed the surface of his knowledge of Ninjutsu.

Bright laughter filled the air as he watched the strange half-snake half-butterfly creature flutter around his head for a few moments. "This is fantastic!" He then turned his gaze over towards Kichy, who he did not expect to be the second creation of the scientifically-minded Kazekage. Approaching with excitement, Kichiru dropped down to a sitting position in front of the once mechanical canine and held out his hand "Hi Kichy! I'm Kichiru." he laughed once more at the coincidence "Kichi, Kichiru! You certainly have a great name!"

Looking up towards the Kazekage as he spoke once more "Huh? What do you mean? Doesn't it pass just as quickly as the rest of us?" Kichiru seemed to go into a bit more thought on the subject "Maybe... Because they have lived for so long, everything that has happened to them seems to have gone by in a flash? But... We all think that. I think it would be cool! You'd get to essentially learn everything there is to know and make a lot of friends over your lifetime!" The thought that those friends would one day pass at your side never seemed to occur to the young student. Perhaps he was just too innocent to think of such a thing as death. "Well, if you created actual breathing eating life. Couldn't these... Vita-Rays, be used to help people? Maybe with that sort of thing we could all live to be three hundred years old... or we could help cure diseases! You could do so much!"

It would seem explaining Vita-Rays to the two young ones would be ... not possible. Kichiru seemed to grasp the base concept of it, but not quite how it could be dangerous. Sousuke's eyes would shift to the side as he proclaimed and asked the question that he created life. Sousuke tapped his fingers together as he was ... maybe at a loss of words. He did create life, didn't he? Creating life in some places was taboo. Certainly there would be a long line of people who would refer to Kitchy as an abomination. Sousuke furrowed his brows as he thought about it more and more. For a moment Sousuke expected Kichiru to be the first to denounce Kitchy. There was a long history between Sousuke and his canine. There was a time where Sousuke was even more anti-social. He didn't like interacting with people overly. Kitchy pushed him forward and forward to interact with people more and more. Sousuke's eyes widened as he watched the child and his canine interact. The child went so far as to make a joke of their names? Was it a joke? Kitchy in response to the exuberant Kichiru held out her paw and placed it in his hand. The husky would tilt her head to the side. She seemed to agree with his sentiment of how great her name was, but in turn she inclined her head forward and poked his nose with her own to suggest the exact same thing. Kitchy pulled back her head and let out a ruff to indicate some sort of familial sentiment. If I have an excellent name, then so do you!

Kichiru continued to chime in on the Vita-Rays and how it could be used to prolong lives. "A flower that never ages nor expires is a flower that is never beautiful."<i></i> Sousuke answered. "I think I had worded that wrong, but in order for one to reach their maximum potential one must age accordingly. Resources in this world are not limited ... life and death are natural due to such. If we everyone being capable of living forever, then how can the world sustain those that live in it if they are eternal?"<i></i> Sousuke shook his head. "One could do so much with three hundred years yes, but I've scrapped the method. Not because of my intentions or actions, but because of the intentions and actions of the morally insane."<i></i> Sousuke scratched the side of his head. Maybe this was far too deep and far too dark for a child to consider. Sousuke's father had always told him to mind and to curb his ambitions.

Kyou inquired why in particular he was in this area. He shook his head. "Sorta."<i></i> He began, "I was wrapping up a meeting with a noble of mine while I was doing an inspection of the buildings surrounding us. I've had a hand in their blueprints and overall structural engineering. I like to inspect my work and fix any flaws I notice ... which is a thing. That being said ... it was multilayer and multi-tasked. A noble of mine wanted to check in on me, and make sure I was going to be available later for a bid he's working on."<i></i> Again he tapped his fingers together. "Uhm... no. You don't need to do anything really. Just uh ... be as you were, be a Kyou in her ... uh ... natural state of habitat. Uh ... just ... just be yourself. That would be most excellent. That ... extends to everyone else here for that matter."<i></i>

"Well I honestly doubt I can understand such concepts of science really."<i></i> She would shrug. It was the truth after all and honestly there was little point in bashing her head against the wall for it. Maybe some day when the topic was easier to grasp then she would invest the time in order to actually learn it and become acquainted with the concept on a more, well appropriate level. As it stood that was completely unnecessary for her career and the work she did over all. The mastiff nudged her in the back with its massive head and nodded in the direction of the road. "Oh yes..."<i></i> Kyou would note, finally having remembered that she had to get going sooner rather than later. Work was calling and she couldn't spend all her time joking around and doing literally nothing productive. That happened far more often than it honestly should, but hey nobody knew that which was quite a good thing at the end of the day. Nobody liked a doctor who was just slacking off all day long every day. That was bad for business and general health really.

"Well in that case I believe it might be better for me to stop bothering you and let you do you work. As you said I shall return to my natural state back at the hospital.<i></i> The kunoichi would chuckle. "It was a pleasure to meet you both, however I have a shift in a few hours and I need to go finish this delivery before I go get ready. As easy as it would be to just use chakra to get there and back quicker I'd say that somewhat ends up defeating the point really. Have a pleasant day."<i></i> She would briefly incline her head before preparing to head off away from the group.

Seated on the ground in a cross-legged position, Kichiru raised his knuckle up towards his chin and began to think upon the words that the Steward Kazekage spoke. “Well.. If we have limited resources. Isn't it possible that we could develop ways of increasing those resources? I mean, if we're able to do such things as create life.. like you did, then shouldn't it be possible to create the resources necessary for life to continue existing even if the population grows?” It would seem that even as he spoke out loud he was arguing with himself in his head, thinking of how such a technology could be used without risking the destruction of their environment around them. The thought that keeping people from their death longer being a .. negative thing, was difficult for the young boy to grasp.

“So.. We have to limit ourselves because of people who might do wrong? Wouldn't it be better to keep the methods you use a secret and still use them for good?” His eyes moved upwards from the ground and up towards Kitchy's as he spoke once more, a smile forming as the words did “Then we could have more wondrous creations like Kitchy. And we'd be able to see our loved ones longer. We wouldn't be struck with grief whenever one of them passed because we'd be able to help them get better.. And.. We could maybe even see those again that we've already lost.” His mind wandered once more to that of his elder sister Kasumi. He missed her, that much was for certain. Though he never truly thought on it as a matter of sadness, but more so he treated her absence as a motivation for him to grow stronger so that she would be proud of him. But every little brother would miss their big sister after she's gone, and Kichiru was no exception to this rule.

“Isn't there anyone you would like to see again? See what they could accomplish if given the time.. Maybe even just to talk with them once more and allow them the joy of seeing their loved ones. I'm certain Kitchy enjoys being alive. You could focus on making new plants that would be edible and nutritious.. Then on helping people.” It would seem that he simply wouldn't be able to comprehend why someone wouldn't want to go further with such a field of research when it could mean keeping people from death. When it could mean being able to spend that much longer with those you loved.

He took a moment to compose his thoughts once more, only to realize that Kyou seemed to have to depart. “Oh!” he turned towards her, his face brightening up once more “It was very nice to meet you! And you as well!” He smiled as he looked towards her canine companion who had been the entire reasoning for this conversation having taken place. As she left them to their conversation, Kichiru once again locked eyes with Kitchy, trying to further formulate his thoughts to the Steward Kazekage. “I've always wanted to help save and protect people. My sister taught me that it was the greatest gift you could give to this world. To nurture it's light and brighten the life that lived upon it. That was her dream.. And now it's mine.” He would then move his hand to pet Kitchy gently as his gaze moved back upwards towards the Kazekage once more.
