Shinobi 101: Unarmed use Nin Acc – 129 words
RP: Kiko’s skills were always evolving, through hard work, endless study and meticulous training and experimentation. When she had learned of her paternal Grandfather’s ability to arc Melee Taijutsu through the air Kiko had been intrigued and impressed. He had said he achieved the trick through a combination of temporal displacement and raw chakra manipulation. ‘Anybody can do it I think?’ he had added as if questioning his own logic as her grandfather so often did. For months Kiko had studied under his tutelage, eventually achieving a somewhat success. Kiko was only able to project physical manifestations of her actual body, unable to achieve weapon manifestation as her grandfather did. He then ceased his teaching on the subject, simply stating ‘That’s probably the best you are going to get sweetheart.’
Sentinel – ANBU Branch – 114 words
RP: At a very young age the children of the Myakashi Clan begin their shinobi training. Through ‘play’ lessons as well as more strict ‘formal’ lessons the children are taught not only the principals of the Myakashi Nindo but also the practical skills to achieve said Nindo. By the time a child of the Myakashi reaches the rank of ‘Shinobi’ or ‘Kunouchi’ they would be master of many skills. Kiko was no different, initially specialising in the field of counter espionage, following in the footsteps of the Clan Leader Myakashi Migoya. She had learned tactical awareness, critical assessment, pattern recognition and shadow manipulation, every tool needed to stay one step ahead of would be pursuers.
Poison Mastery – 113 words
RP: Death is second nature to a ninja of the Myakashi Clan, but one quickly learns that there are many paths that lead to such a destination… some of the paths are red and smell of burnt sugar…
Poison’s had caught her attention at a young age, the interactions between different toxins, venoms and inhospitable chemicals introduced to a human body had kept her attention more than almost any other pursuit. A subject could be kept alive and conscious for months on end with the simple application of Medical Ninjutsu between doses, obviously allowing enough time to transpire for her to gain all desired information from each experiment. She was a true Toxicogenomic prodigy.
Clumsiness, Acrobatics and Sleight of Hand – 304 words
RP: As a child Kiko had, on more than one occasion, been the catalyst to a series of unfortunate events. Chaos seemed to inherently follow in the happy child’s wake like a static charge but she always seemed to come out on top, incidentally avoiding otherwise perfectly executed attacks via seemingly benign movements. Let us follow one such instance. At the bright age of three and three quarters the children had been taken on a tour around some of the islands of Moon Country, a ferry capable of moving a small crowd was their vessel for the day. Kiko had been looking at the clouds as she walked the deck. Her gaze averted she unknowingly connected with a small latch connected to a locking mechanism which, in turn connected to the anchor chain. Unbeknownst to the captain, the ferry’s anchor now dragged through the water in its wake, sinking deeper and deeper. With the ferry at full steam the anchor bit, lurching the passengers forward approximately two meters forwards (along with all the ferry’s other contents) and tearing a water sucking hole down the side of the steel framed hull. Kiko had tumbled forward in the sudden stop, bounced off and jolly fat man’s generously soft body, rolled down a recently displaced lounge and into a pile of warm blankets, next to a locked rations strongbox stored aboard one of the two remaining lifeboats (the third had been set on fire by a stray tobacco pipe flung from smoking hand in the anchor lurch). They had found the infant as the ferry sank beneath the cold water. They had found her drawing an esoteric scribble on the side of the lifeboat with her ever present black crayon, chocolate happily spread across her grinning face, and the captains ‘missing’ keyring still in the rations strongbox lock.
Strategist, Elemental Aura and Initiative – 301 words
RP: Through many (many, many) operations and missions undertaken for or on behalf of the Myakashi Clan, Kiko has learnt that human nature is predictable if only you learn to expect the unexpected, which is obviously easier said than done. But some things are statistically predictable, like her quick notes under the title of ‘personal space’ which had been scribbled across the top of the page. “If one charges and affixes an explosive seal on one’s own person (shaped away from one’s own body for obvious reasons which need not be mentioned here) the chakra aura of the wearer will act as the barrier trigger through simple sensitivity amplification of even the lacking chakra aura of an unskilled civilian. The seal will then, when approached by an assailant (or victim… or bystander…), immediately detonate, causing catastrophic concussion centred on the point where the intruding chakra originated, though with potentially great delay dependant on the subjects own natural chakra aura potential. Potential distance appears to be almost unlimited as long as the subject survives the source of the invading chakra potential. This initial detonation will allow one to quickly outmanoeuvre and overwhelm an assailant, or, as in the case of ‘accidental meat pizza’, make a hasty retreat before ones face can be recognised by other patrons of the frequently utilised restaurant. During ‘field testing’ the sealed subjects have avoided any negative effects in approximately sixty percent of successful field detonations, of those injured only twenty percent resulted in immediate expiration of the ‘volunteer’. I have drawn some diagrams for new seals that may be used to propel microscopic shards of potentially toxic material at extremely high velocity over a short distance via the concussive detonation, but I will have to experiment further to ascertain whether this is indeed an achievable result on a consistent basis.”
Cursed Seal and Contract Mastery – 260 words
RP: There was a curse upon the Hirato bloodline that had spanned for thousands of years, predating the name the cursed was attached too. The curse had also started with her father just before she had been born, when her father had made the covenant with the lady of the lake, the goddess of deep places, master of time and space.
Kiko’s mother had told stories of their father’s adventures to them before bed each night, this was her favourite story of all because this story had dragons! This is the version of the story recapped by an excited child Kiko to her ever attentive maternal grandfather, “Dad was having some tea by a great big lake. A dragon from the lake just popped its head out to ask for some tea. Because Dad had the best tea, the dragon took him on a cool adventure where he got to fight heaps of baddies and skelingtons and stuff. Then the dragon turned out to be a lady with NO CLOTHS ON! Like totally nude! Just none, like naked all the way! But yeah, then she gave dad that giant crab dog thingy that hangs around with Grandpa Yong, and they became best friends, the lady and Dad and the dog-shrimp-dog... Its names Urufuebi. I think Grandpas just feeding him and stuff till Dad gets better. Mum says that’s why there is always them helpful floating fish that don’t need water hangin’ about all the time... but they don’t stink Mitch. Mum says that’s why we have cursed bits in our blood too, but I checked and it was just normal blood, no bits in it so I don’t think I got the cursed bits like mum thinks…”. She was wrong of course, a cursed seal had been placed on her infant body by the very man she had told her conclusion to. The seal placed upon her by her maternal grandfather was identical to the seal placed upon her father moments before battle, so many years ago. The seal’s ‘cursed’ enhancements had eventually led to a chakra manipulation and control over summoning jutsu far exceeding that of any other shinobi within the Myakashi Clan.
