Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Akane looked up to the redheaded ANBU who was the host of this class. She was right, it had started. THough she never thought that this would be like a tv show. Put on for entertainment, but she really didn't care. If the ANBU wanted to put on a show, Akane would be happy to assist. She smirked as the woman seemed to have heard her name, she would expect nothing less from an anbu. Akane glanced around, only moving her eyes for a moment to look at all the trainees, she really didn't recognize anyone else. She heard a trainee speak up, but he seemed to disappear in an instant, and fly into a cabbage cart. Akane wasnt sure what he was saying, or who did that to him, she just shuddered at the thought of someone moving that fast. Well she knew Yoshi could move that fast.

Akane looked back to the woman, as she explained, so this was an execution, and probably a way to sort out the weaklings within the trainees. Akane glanced over to the screen, smirking slightly as the images of the prisoners rolled out. She believed she had seen scarier people in her past. If she was still a child, she probably would have felt intimidated by how they looked. Akane had grown out of the fear of others who were stronger and bigger than her, especially if they were not someone higher ranking than herself. She believed as long as people stuck together, this would be a piece of cake.

Akane looked towards Yoshi, as she felt a hand on her shoulder. She blinked at him, then nodded. When it came to business, she seemed to lose her previous emotions, and harden. If not become in a happier mood when she knew she'd be fighting someone possibly stronger than herself. She never backed down from a challenge. "Alright,- Tensei. I don't have a Radio on hand." She explained to him, though she almost slipped and said his real name. She already had her teammates, it seemed, no doubt that she wouldn't fight besides Yoshi, and it seemed yoshi's friend Himitsu would probably join them. Either way, she was sure to stick by Yoshi.

As she heard the word "Go" she looked at Yoshi, and Himitsu, then turned. She seemed to be the only one around without a mask, so everyone could see her emotions, she put on her smirk that she usually had on in, and before a battle. "Tensi, and Himitsu, lets team up." She stated simply, before taking off. She ran into the forest, keeping pace with Yoshi, and if Himitsu decided to tag along with them. Either way, she made sure to keep her eyes open, and her senses sharp.

The woman on the stage had begun her announcement. She was a bit of an eccentric, now wasn't she? All about flair and shows, trying to make this into an entertainment spectacle. And in a way, it was. Many people had gathered already, turning this event into more than just a test for the ANBU involved. As she continued on, however, it seemed that there was a slight hiccup in the programming. By Kotsuko's count, there had been 13 ANBU trainees who'd shown up and one girl he didn't know. She didn't have a mask, though, so she must have been from a different branch. A volunteer, perhaps, who wished to gain entrance to the ANBU—Kotsuko could understand how that felt. It seemed that one of the ANBU trainees had done something wrong: suddenly, he had been shot a good twenty to thirty feet into the stand of a nearby cabbage salesman. What he was doing here was anyone's guess, but regardless the poor sap had been in the wrong place at the wrong time. His produce spilled everywhere and his cart in ruins, the man could only cry out in horror. Rolling his eyes at the display, Kotsuko turned his attention back to the woman. She was continuing with her explanation of the event, quickly moving past the transgression that had occurred. What happened next, however, both surprised and excited the young man.

In front of everyone, detained by an ANBU each, were five ragged and worn looking prisoners. Four men, and one woman. The red haired proctor continued on, mentioning that they were guilty and dangerous. However, they'd all been given the option of a trial by combat. It was a rather outdated method of justice, and generally had been phased out in a modern world. However, it seemed the rules were easily bent for the ANBU. They'd been chosen as a test for these ANBU hopefuls, to test their combat prowess and probably to weed out the undesirables from the ranks. Kotsuko could appreciate that line of thinking. Then, the ANBU disappeared, apparently having escaped into the battlegrounds. The TV monitors showed them releasing the prisoners, and then disappearing. The crowd murmured loudly, obviously unnerved by the decision to let convicted criminals roam freely. Kotsuko couldn't blame them, but the situation and opportunity that was unfolding before him was getting the young man excited. This was too good to pass up.

When the woman announced that the trainees would have twenty four hours to catch these criminals, Kotsuko knew what he was going to do with this situation. Surreptitiously sneaking away from the main group, Kotsuko would have managed to avoid the gazes of those around him—everyone was focused on the trainees on the ground. Some of them had decided to go for it right away, and some decided to stay and figure things out a little bit. Kotsuko, on the other hand, had other plans. Slipping into the ground with his Inner Earth Reflection Lure technique, the young man moved over to just underneath the trainee who'd been kicked. Quickly, and without bring his face up, the young man poked his hand out and grabbed the man's pure white porcelain mask. By the time they noticed the trainee's mask was gone, and his identity revealed, it would have been too late. Continuing to move underground, the young boy went north. He had a plan. Only when he was a safe distance away from the beginning of the course, the young boy slipped up out of the ground with the mask covering his face. They'd surely notice the extra person roaming around the area, but Kotsuko's identity would remain a secret. He intended to keep it that way.

He took a moment and activated his signature technique, allowing him to monitor the movement of metallic objects all around him. He couldn't keep it active all the time, as he needed to move around, but he would activate it periodically so that he could track their movements. Who's movements? Why, the group consisting of Yoshi, Akane, and all of their little friends. Kotsuko would tail them, staying far enough away for them to not notice him and to be the first ones to intercept a potential enemy if one arrived. Kotsuko didn't intend to engage anyone just yet. He was playing a defensive and strategic game here, trying to avoid detection and remain invisible as much as possible. If anything were to happen, he'd make his escape underground or through another means. "This is going to be fun," the young man muttered to himself.

Shin listened patiently as the teacher began speaking, his eyes drifting away to catch the body of the student slamming into the cabbages. It was his own fault real, didn't he pay attention to the conversation between the other trainees earlier? Incompetence will get him killed. Ignoring the the trainee he went back to gaze at the teacher, catching the part about prisoners.
Hyobanshi Hitomi said:
"These five men are criminals of the Hidden Cloud, each dangerous in their own way. They have asked for a trial by combat, and I have graciously granted them that right! They are going to be taken into the forest and set free. It is your job to combat them and roll out their trial. If they die, they are guilty! But if they kill you all, then obviously they are free to go. Yes, they are shinobi, but don't worry. They've been in the underprison for months, so they aren't necessarily at full strength. The Raikage is counting on you to dish out justice here kiddies, we're counting on you! Take them inside."

She continued speaking, explaining the reasoning for the camera, as well as ensuring them that the prisoners wouldn't be escaping with the ANBU stationed around the area. It was of small conform to some of the trainee's however, Shin could hear the whispered tones of fear which made his blood boil. What did they believe would be happening once they become part of the branch. He untensed his muscles for second, cracking them as he made sure to study the prisoners.</COLOR>

<COLOR color="#0000FF">Though they were enemies of the village, and he would be unfazed by their death, he wanted this memory of his first threats to the village. It was the only symbol of respect he had for the prisoners, their deaths being stepping stones for the students. Only those truly committed to this work would be shine brightly. In twenty-four hours they would all find out which was which. He turned and looked to the trainee that had speaking previous, noticing his hands on both shoulder of both Akane and his fellow trainee. Seemed like one group was formed.

He looked as they left, as he began planning out his moves from this moment onward. It was a good idea to have created a group, they each could cover more ground effective as well as be prepared for any ambushes. However if emotions played a factor in the choice rather than ability, they could be overly cautiousness and it could screw with the group dynamic. They all seemed capable, especially the one would quickly took the lead. Shin heard Shitsumansha speaking, on what appeared to be another lecture to some of the trainee's about Tensai (the trainee Shin was talking) logic. If they were dumb enough to forgot something as simple as their radio then they should have left the class the moment they saw the prisoners. Lack of preparation was the quickest way to get them killed and it irritated Shin as they some of them seemed so pridefully that even the reminder of the basic caused them to jump up on the hackles. We need to take these prisoner out quickly and effectively; I don't want to see potential killed because of their mistakes. They were his comrades, and though he felt nothing personally to them, he knew that they would be the one he would have to count on in the future. As he began moving in her direction, his Demonic Aura rolling down him as the fearing of evil caused those who were already nervous before to give him room to walk towards Shitsumansha. He stopped and spoke, his mind already made up on who he would be joining.

"Shitsumansha. I am Kyōfuno. I can track and am trained as a sensor. My aura will prevent us from falling under any unexpected Genjutu's. I suggest we find our third member and quickly. The more we wait the quicker our targets can distance themselves from us."

He looked to see if they would be any takers as he felt the tension building back up in his muscles. The moment they group was good he would be ready to start locating the prisoners and end them. As he waited he opened his third eye, making sure that his group he would protected.

Shimete was an adopted child of Moro, a wolf demon. Moro does not only bless her children with the ability to see chakra and human intelligence, but dominance over the basic wolf. Shimete does a howl of the pack to summon a pack of ten wolves that roam this forest. However commanding such a large pack could be difficult especially if she wanted them to split up. Within Shimete’s mask was a built in headset, which she adjusts to a specific channel. “Okay boys show time.” Soon five more wolves enter the battlefield except they are also children of Moro. Shimete was surprise how quickly they came for she knows how they like to keep an eye on her being a fellow sister and all.

The five new wolves each took two regular wolves under their command, thus forming five squads of wolves. Lirin’s squad follows Yoshi, Hakkai’s squad follows Akane, Zakuro’s squad will stick with Katsumi, Yaone’s squad stays near Shin, Ranma’s squad groups with Zaku. Izumi comes from the crowd and partners with Shimete. Thus with all the wolves distributed Shimete adjusts her headset back to the appropriate setting. On the headset she tell her fellow AiT, “I’m sending a squad of wolves to work with you. You might notice that there is one in each squad that has a blue left eye. These wolves are gifted with the ability to see chakra. Use them wisely.”

Sanageyama Setsuna

Setsuna's eyes widened at the world of the red headed woman, a lady whose name she did not know. As the participants of the mission moved out and began to strategize, Setsuna began to look for a better view to watch the televisions. Amongst the crowd there was hardly any good places to watch from, and she didn't quite feel comfortable sticking around the one place where the bad people might be able to escape through. Those sweet, innocent blue eyes looked to a building nearby. She bit her lip in nervousness. She had only just joined the academy after all, so her chakra control was pretty all over the place compared to others. But she had to try. There was a small shack nearby with no visible way of climbing up; it was probably used for storage. Focusing her chakra, she placed her foot on the surface and pushed forward. Her eyes were closed and her muscles tense. But before she knew it, her foot was falling forward and she had made it to the top of the roof. A prideful smile stretched across her face as she sat down to watch these trainees perform their mission. Their mission to kill...
|
Ishikawa Zaku a.k.a. Himitsu

Zaku smiled in secret as he heard the worries and doubts coming from around him, followed by confidence that was probably ill placed. Damn right they weren't phased by what Hyobanshi had just said. Some were just better than others, and the great naturally gravitate to each other. They weren't given a nickname for nothing. They were top of the class along with others who were there that day. The others who were even close to being on par with them weren't expressing doubt; this is because they were prepared unlike the others.

ANBU Himitsu felt the hand of Tensai on his shoulder; it was a familiar feeling he had grown accustomed to after weeks of training along side of him. It was just something that Yoshi did, he had some warping jutsu he used with the seal. Yoshi spoke with dictation much like a shinobi should, and those who were too prideful revealed who they were shortly after. Zaku couldn't help but laugh at these idiots. He was surprisingly laid back, or rather, it would seem that way. No doubt Katsumi would see it as that cockiness she assumed earlier. She scolded them for their pridefulness and it was likely appreciated by some. But Zaku was not as kind with his words when she was finished. "Yea, yall fucks are gonna die." he said with a jovial chuckle, nodding to Akane and Yoshi indicating that he was ready. "Feel free to tag along, but if you fuck us over I'll kill you myself. Bounce~" he called as he ran after his allies, snickering at his words. They weren't true in the slightest, but he knew that they would keep the virgins out of the mix.

What did immediately follow was a rather large pack of wolves. This was something that he had mixed feelings about. Nine canines accompanying them would make for quiet the little force, but it also complicated a battle having that many things on a battlefield. It would be a matter of time before he could determine their usefulness.

Minutes later...

The three (and company) arrived in a clearing that seemed to have a lot of natural wild flowers whilst surrounded by some sparse trees. If it weren't for the task they were charged with, it might have been a perfect area to have a picnic! "Hmmm..." grumbled Zaku. He slowed to stop. "I wouldn't say that a hardened criminal would hide here, but there is always a first time for everything I guess. Want to spread out and take a look?" he commented while looking around the area himself. It was then he noticed a peculiar feeling on the back of his neck. That feeling didn't surface all too often. "They've followed us from the beginning." Himitsu looking behind him for any signs of whoever was following, but none surfaced. He smiled behind his mask and turned to watch the canines to see if they sensed anything. "I can feel him too. Let's let him follow. He may come in handy."

He did want to let his squad mates know. He spoke on the channel they had decided upon en route to the location, in a low tone. "Don't freak or anything. But someone's following us underground. I don't think it's one of the criminals, maybe another trainee who is too afraid to show his face. Leave him be for now." he finished.

Team Third Wheel

You have reached K-10 without incident. There are 9 canine's accompanying you. You haven't noticed anything strange on the way to your location.

Zaku has informed you of a follower (Kotsuko) but you only know that someone is following you.

Team Black Kat

Kurogane Shin and Katsumi have seemingly teamed up, however, without any notion to move they have used 10 minutes to strategize? But they do find themselves with 6 wolves who seem eager to follow them.

Kotsuko

You are underground following behind Team Third Wheel. You sense cameras around you and weapons of the team ahead of you.

Shimete

You have successfully summoned wolves. But haven't done anything else.

I would like to stress: DO WHAT YOUR CHARACTER WOULD DO. You have all the freedom in the world. If your character would break down and cry and beg to be let out of the class, then do that. Don't be afraid to have flaws. Don't feel obligated to make posts long when they don't need to be.
How the class will Work

THE SETTING: The arena is a section of the forest surrounded by earth walls to keep you and the prisoners inside. Feel free to take creative freedom in the scenery your character is in and what not. Let's say for our sake, the section of the forest is 400x400 in meters. Think 4 football fields x 4 football fields approximately. See the Map Below.

MOVEMENT: Everyone starts with a base movement of 3 squares a turn. Except for Yoshi; as a Seikon he can move 4 spaces a turn due to his speed. It's up to him if he wants to move that much. You do not have to move at all, you can remain still or choose to move a limited amount. When you want to search an area, let me know. Officially you will all start moving from point K-13.

Shin looked at the wolves standing next to them, his mind beginning to calculate how to use this to their advantage. It was a large group, and they needed to put distance between one another so they wouldn't be targeted once they entered. It also would make be easily to use their abilities without worrying about injuring their party. Planning done, it time to initiate it. He began changing his radio to right frequency between looking at the group. He made sure he would address Shimete before he'd address the rest.

"We've meet before, however I do not know your code-name. If we are operating with secrecy I'd like to know to prevent your identify being known."

He would make sure to wait in case she told him before turning to looked at the girl coded-named Shitsumansha.

"I'm going to scout ahead with my pack to make we won't be walking into any traps. We'll meet up once were all inside and plan out the our next move. Let's head out."

Wasting no time he spring from his spot, his course already planned out. He wasn't sure if they would follow, but at-least he would have some wolves to alert him if his sense could not protect him. For know he was letting the adrenaline pumping through his vein lead him though the grass area. Once he reached a reasonable enough spot he spot ready himself, letting his looking around to see if he could find anything thing that would lead them towards the prisoners. [Moved to M-12]

Shitsumansha nodded at Kyōfuno as he approached. She knew only a little about him, but he had a strong record. "A pleasure, I'm afraid my skills lay in what happens after a criminal is found rather than the search though I can track to a small degree." In a lower tone she said, "And should we be within a few dozen meters I am aware of all things with a pulse." She wasn't going to say straight out she was a Chigokai but it would be best to let him know ahead of time anything that would be of help. "Anyway unless Fenlen here wishes to join us the pickings are rather uninspiring." Of course as she said that wolves sprang from the trees with three of them stopping right with her and three more with Shin. "Or that."

"And the rest of you!" as she turned towards those who were left with that tone a few of them raised their hands as if to defend themselves. "If any of you has the slightest belief that you are not a hindrance AND are fully prepared for the task at hand you step forward and enter that arena one group circling to the left and the other to the right, but so help me if you make trouble I will make you learn why I am called Questioner." She once more looked at Kyōfuno who mentioned he was going ahead and she nodded. She looked back to the remaining chumps "Why are you just standing there? GO! And if you see any idiots by themselves tell them to stick with you or they will have me to answer to should they survive." And with that they ran. She looked to Fenlen and said,"Should you decide not to lone wolf it I think you know how to find us." she nodded at the wolves waiting for her to move. That in itself was amazing because "the empress" never joked so far as the rumors went.

She wouldn't stray too far from Kyōfuno but she went a bit to the left after entering the arena. She also began trying her hand at tracking. "Alright focus. Snapshot memory... let's try the woman." The only inconvenience about the Chakra Sense technique was that it only let you track a single person, but that was all she had. Perhaps she should consider expanding her abilities in that direction next though a Jill of all Trades was a Mistress of None. Looking at the wolves as she ran through she said, "I don't suppose any of you have an idea of where we might head?"

"My name is Fenlen, though some call me the living sentinel." Shimete stays at the entrance for she can help in other ways. Shimete's Eye of Moro allows her to detect chakra signatures within a thousand meters, which more than covered the arena. True the forest of trees would keep her from seeing anything but chakra from the prisoners. The prisoners would surely try to hide and ambush them. "Initiating primary scan." Shimete preforms a scan jutsu which not only increase her visual range but made her detect people in stealth far more quickly. "Secondary scan initiated." The next scan was not nearly as strong as the first, but it's good to be thorough. Normally people can't elude both scans. Shimete got the nickname living sentinel because shew was basically an anti-stealth unit. With her awareness stealth was all but pointless. Once she finds where the prisoners chakra signatures are she will relay them through the head set. Hopefully this way they can avoid ambushes.

"I’m sending a squad of wolves to work with you. You might notice that there is one in each squad that has a blue left eye. These wolves are gifted with the ability to see chakra. Use them wisely.”

"Great thinking. Thanks." Yoshi responded as a small pack of wolves tailed them. Simultaneously, Akane and Zaku had their own pack as well. They would probably come in handy, or become an obstacle in the way. Either way, Yoshi wasn't an inuzuka and wasn't attached to them. If they died, he wouldn't bat an eye. Hopefully, the inuzuka knew the risks as well.

Traveling through the trees, Yoshi analyzed the area bit by bit. As always, he was careful to be light on his feet to not alert the enemy. Either side could have the advantage, especially with the criminals being released first. So many possibilities, and only two outcomes. Live, or die. Despite the display, it wasn't a show. This would be a true battle to be remembered. "Rose." Yoshi said with a pause. "Take this head set. It's already turned to the appropriate channel." Yoshi said handing her the mic as they came to a complete stop in a clearing that was more for an picnic. Flowers created a beautiful scene with sparse trees. maybe he'd return to relax one day, but today wasn't the time.

"Hmmm..."

"I wouldn't say that a hardened criminal would hide here, but there is always a first time for everything I guess. Want to spread out and take a look?"

"It would probably be for the best for locating them to spread out. Fighting should definitely be a team deal though. Not saying no one can't Handle their own, but you'll save time, energy, and chakra as a team." Yoshi said with a pause.

"As we split, everyone will take their pack I guess. Who ever has the least skills in tracking should utilize the blue eyed ones a great bit. Along with that, take a kunai. If you get in a bind, say something and I'll be right over. " Yoshi said handing Himitsu and rose one of his specialized kunai passed down through the Tsuyoshi family. Looking at the two, they'd be fine. Rose was a fighter before a medic and Zaku was definitely a fighter.

"Let's move. The longer we wait, the stronger they become. If we must go into combat alone, try to end things as quick as possible or stall until help comes." Yoshi said awaiting for anymore ideas.

153nucm.jpg

If they liked the plan and would comply, Yoshi would create two lightning clones, then touch the ground to focus and attempt to sense the nearest enemies. Once done, he'd head in the direction he felt best while his clone headed in a different direction. If they didn't want to split or had more to add to the plan, Yoshi would wait before taking action, but time was of the essence.

The one thing bothering Yoshi was the cameras. He didn't want anyone to notice or have the chance to see his powers. If he was to seriously move though, the camera probably wouldn't catch it. He wouldn't act on a possibility though. Emitting a small pulse of his reality bending energy from his pores, he'd take note of the cameras reactions, just as he took note of the individual underground as Zaku mentioned.

-If he splits and doesn't sense anything: 1 blocks diagonally (L-9)
-If he splits and does senses a new presence: 1 blocks in that direction
-If they stick together and he senses something: 1-3 blocks in that direction(once team is informed)
-Clones: Follows Akane and Zaku(If presences are sensed, they'll lead them in the right directions)
-Given two Kunais out for insurance(Zaku/Akane)

Akane looked back at the wolves that were following them, she was curious of if they would get in the way, of help. She was not a tracker, so they would probably help her. Their noses would be great at smelling the enemy. She could sense the chakra around, in which is what she started doing, using her senses to feel whose chakra is around. She looked at Himitsu, for a moment, he had quite the dark side to him, though she would never speak to her comrades like that, neither did she actually care what he said. Actions speak louder than words to her.

As the came to a stop in the new area, Akane looked around, and tried to sense another's chakra, other than the person tagging them, the wolves, and her teammates. Nothing it this area it seemed. She looked at Himitsu again as he suggested splitting up. It made her feel a little uneasy, but she didnt allow that to show. She just simply nodded as Yoshi wanted to go with the plan. She took the headset from Yoshi and placed it in her ear, and Yoshi's special Kunai. She placed that kunai in her pouch.

"Alright, Just be careful, i'll keep heading straight." She stated, then she looked back at Yoshi and Himitsu, before she started to run forward. But that came to a sudden stop as she tripped over a tree branch in the clearing. She landed on her stomach, and then got up quickly. She had always been clumsy, but it wasn't her fault the tree branch was in her way. "Uh you didn't see anything." She stated to the other two before starting to run again. Three wolves following behind her. She was using her sensor skills to try to sense any one within the new area she had entered, which seemed to be thicker with trees.

BGM: Just Beneath the Surface, Darkness

Kotsuko had slowed his pace, matching his speed to be just behind the group of three in front of him. Every minute or so he'd take a quick check as to their location with Tessei Shikai, keeping them a reasonable distance ahead of him. However, this time when he checked he noticed they had stopped. He halted his progress, drifting motionlessly among the rocks and dirt around him. He watched them, slowly expanding his field of monitoring outwards. He could see the gates, and he could even see a few more trainees leaving the safety of the starting area. Those must have been the ones to make a plan before running into the forest. He noted their movements, seeing them drift off to either side of the main group he'd followed. Smirking to himself, the young boy thought that, maybe, he'd be able to play this situation to his advantage. He didn't think any of them would be able to detect him like this, meaning he could use his maneuverability to his advantage. Hiding until the time was right, the young man kept watching each of the groups. He wanted to pick up on signs of combat, which usually was the cause of quick and jerky movements that went all over the place. They'd be his feelers for him.

At that moment, though, the group in front of him decided to split off from each other and move forwards. The young man hadn't expected a maneuver such as that, a little surprised they hadn't opted to stick together more. They did know they were facing up against prisoners of the state, right? Well, whatever. That wasn't his problem. Admittedly, even if the prisoners killed these trainees it wouldn't be the end of the world. Kotsuko was a resourceful man, and the situation would surely take care of itself. And, even if no one managed to kill the prisoners for him, Kotsuko could still work with that scenario. "Hrm, yes, he's the bishop. Speedy, isn't he? She might be a pawn, oh and this one is surely a knight! That one looks like they're a rook, by the way their moving. It seems like we're missing a queen, though..." What the hell was Kotsuko musing to himself about? Chess? Indeed, Kotsuko found this whole thing to be rather like a game to him. He often saw things that way, and his favorite game of all time was chess. Thinking of the battlefield like a chessboard helped the young man to think, organizing his strategies like a well seasoned veteran. He liked chess because it was a game of wit, planning, and out smarting your opponent. You didn't have to sit around, either. You had to play not only against your opponent, but also against the timer. Every second counted, just like in a war. They say that chess and other similar games used to be training exercises for strategists and generals to hone their skills. Kotsuko didn't know how accurate such a statement was, but he did know it helped to relax and focus his mind.

Taking a deep breath, the young man knew what to do. As the team he'd followed advanced, so too did he a little. However, the young man veered off to the right a bit, favoring to follow one of the members of their team. With his Tessei Shikai, Kotsuko could spot the edge of the arena—he was right where he wanted to be. Kotsuko had a plan, and began to prepare a little trick of his. While it was true that he could sense metallic objects all around him, what happened if an enemy didn't carry metal? Kotsuko was no fool, he knew the limitations of his techniques. That's why he knew exactly how to counter them. The young man rose out of the ground, his hands held slightly above his chest. Out of two of the gourds of iron sand he carried on his waist, a steady stream of the metallic powder was dispersed into the air. Showing great control and skill, the young man dispersed the fine iron dust evenly for a good 75 meters around him. The powder floated around in the air, not really enough in one spot to notice unless you were looking for it or caught an odd glimpse off of the sun's rays hitting he dust. Satisfied with his work, Kotsuko sunk back into the ground, safe from being spotted by all but those who could command the earth to their desires. It was here, many meters below the earth's surface, that he focused all of his energy into the Tessei Shikai.

Normally, Kotsuko wasn't able to sense metallic objects from too far away. If he was distracted, 50-75 meters was his maximum. That was just enough to give him a little warning before an enemy was right on top of him. However, if the young man could devote himself solely to keeping track of magnetic disturbances in the area around him, then his range could be greatly increased. 150 meters, in fact, was his absolute maximum. If anyone came within range of Kotsuko, and was wearing metal, the young man would know about it. And the iron sand? If someone entered his radius, but wasn't wearing any metal, then the Sasaki would have no chance at spotting them. His technique required the tracking of metals. The iron sand he'd distributed allowed him to sense if it was being disturbed or pushed to the side. Judging on the size of the object that disturbed the sand, Kotsuko would be able to tell it it was a person or not. It wasn't a lot of warning, but it was more of a last resort effort than anything. There were more efficient ways of alerting ones self to an approaching enemy, such as with clones to scout the perimeter of an area, but they didn't have quite the range of observation that this method had nor its inconspicuous nature. By focusing solely on the Tessei Shiikai, Kotsuko would be able to track individuals with ease, alerting him much earlier to their presence. From his position, the young man was still able to spot the metallic ring-weapon of that one trainee off to the left of the entrance (Katsumi), and even the other member of the group he'd been following who'd gone the other direction (Akane). If he focused his energy on watching, he would have a better shot at sensing what was happening around him. The young boy smirked to himself. "Yes, come on. It's time to play the game! Who will be the first one to die, I wonder?"

Ishikawa Zaku a.k.a. Himitsu

Zaku quickly nodded in the affirmative regarding Yoshi's suggestion about fighting together. It would have been simply unwise to fight alone again enemies they knew nothing about. Whether they had just come from the under prison or not, they were shinobi and one could never underestimate their enemy. Zaku knew this better than anyone. His thoughts went to the man who took years of his life away from him with a simple seal. He seemed to hesitate for a moment while Yoshi kept speaking. One of the wolves noticed and pressed it's wet nose against his hand. The cold, wet feeling brought him back to reality far faster than ever before. The Ishikawa looked down to the dog with confusion before looking up to those he chose to ally with.

He took the Kunai from his comrade and nodded his head. It was better to move quicker; after all, they might be home for dinner if they didn't take too long. But Zaku was careful to not rush himself too much. Impatience was one of the primary causes for most mistakes. As Yoshi made his clones and moved off on his own, Akane did so as well. She moved straight ahead, while Yoshi followed but a good distance away to the right of her. Naturally, he would move to her left, making sure that her flanks weren't exposed to any of the enemies in the forest today.

He moved carefully through the forest. He'd pause before entering any generally clear areas to look for anything suspicious. And once he was sure there was none he would move on. Eventually he came to a stop in a moderately wooded area. It was the type of area in horror movies where the bad guy could have been hiding behind any tree at any given moment. He took the time to pause and focus his chakra to see if he could sense anyone nearby. If anything seemed out of place at all, he would radio immediately. It was at this point he noticed that the person following underground was no longer behind him. He had moved off somewhere now and was out of Zaku's perception. It wasn't an issue, but the blond had to wonder where he scurried off to.

The canines and clone with him all did their part searching as best they could.

AKANE

Lumbering towards you is a bear in proportions that you never believed to have been possible. Whatever this thing was, it wasn't naturally created, and you can guess that the ANBU didn't plan it to be part of the routine. Or did they?

Lifting it's nose in the air, it seems to catch the scent of it's next meal. It looks from Akane, to some of the canines at her side. Target acquired. It begins to charge and take a swipe at one of your canines. Blood coats it's claws as the underbelly of one of the canines is ripped open, spewing the entrails out across the ground. There is no way the animal will survive it's wounds.

So Akane, what will you do? The bear seems intent on continuing it's rampage... It's fresh kill looks like it emboldened it and it's set it eyes on you as it's next target.

Akane ran until she sensed a presence. Before she knew it a giant bear ran towards her group and ripped apart one of her canine companions. She really had no time to feel sorrow, and at this point she felt the need to warn the others. She jumped into a tree, as she reached her hand out to her radio. "I found a giant bear, and by no means does it look like a normal bear. One of the wolves is assumingly dead." She spoke into the radio, the frequency set to contact everyone else.

She looked to the other wolves, she was borrowing these guys, and she didn't wish for all of them to be killed on her watch. "Go back to your master!" she shouted at the wolves, then they took off running attempting to escape.

Akane preformed a few hand seals, and shot a giant fire ball at the beast, aiming more to create a forest fire, but aiming directly at the beast. She probably did not need help taking down this bear, but it didn't seem like a normal bear. Her first guess would be it was a summon creature.

Whether the beast was affected, or hit by the fire ball, Akane pulled out her sword, and leaped down to aim an overhead strike at the bear's neck, in hopes to slice open its flesh.

Radioed Yoshi, Zaku - Assuming everyone is on the same radio frequency
Called off the wolves
Used Fire ball
Then aimed an overhead slash at the bear's neck

Things were beginning to kick off it seemed. She heard a brief scream off to the west and the Akane woman apparently was having trouble with a giant bear. Shitsumansha had no time to concern herself with Akane, she had her own backup. What did concern her was the silenced scream. Speaking into her own radio she said, "Kyōfuno, it sounds like someone to the west may have been killed, and I am willing to bet next week's Curry Tuesday that it was one of those fools who ran off ahead. They may have encountered the enemy. If you head that way I won't be far ahead of you." After a quick set of hand seals three blood clones sprang into being before she mentally cursed herself. She needed to avoid using blood jutsu. Sure everyone could potentially learn it but she didn't need anything that could link her to her real identity showing up on these screens. No matter, what's done was done.

"We will be combing the area to our immediate west, moving at search speed. Clone 1 you and Wolf 1 shall head straight west from here. Clone 2 you and Wolf 2 will be just to Unit 1's south searching near the wall. If those men did as I told them they should be scouting near the wall first and it might be in fact they who we just heard screaming so be on the lookout. Clone 3 you and wolf 3 will be just to Unit 1's North. Clones you are to protect the wolves from threats while searching, wolves you are to howl once for the enemy we seek, howl twice for other threats, and howl thrice should you discover dead. Howl should it be the last thing you do. Scatter!" Waiting a few moments Shitsumansha herself left searching a bit more thoroughly than her clones.

Shimete hears a blood curdling scream to the west which was then silenced. She should go see what it was but that might be suicide. Blindly running into an ambush would be bad, so a bit of camouflage was in order. There was a lot of wolves in this forest; she could blend in by becoming one of them. Shimete original beast clone was her going full feral, however such a transformation was quite painful and thus she only went have way. This time though she will need to go all the way. Shimete slips off her cloak and tears off her bandages for apparel would only get in the way. She could only imagine the audience reaction to her stripping butt naked. The only things she had left on her was thing left on her was her blank Anbu mask. Shimete was and interesting inuzuka; her skin seemed quite fare and she had ears and tail of a wolf. Shimete was thankful of the mask for she would be far too embarrassed to do this otherwise, though the mask didn’t stop her from tucking her tail between her legs.

Shimete grabs her chest for a sudden pain stuck her. She cries and pain, "Why does this have to be so painful?” Eventually her entire body felt like senbon being stabbed into her body. She then changes from a sitting position to the fetal position. The sound of bones snapping out of their sockets and going back in place again emanated from her body. She was going through a transformation and it was a painful one. Her facial structure changes into something more canine; it elongates into a muzzle. Her teeth become as sharp as razors and canine more pronounced. Her nose become a black, rubber-like, tissue at the end of the muzzle and above the lip, with a pair of nostrils leading to the nasal cavity which lie above the hard palate of the mouth. Her tongue stretches to become long enough to lick her nose. Her ears move up to the top of her head and become triangular with rounded points. The pain she was in cases her ear to fold down flat against her head. The whites of her eyes turn black and the iris of her left eye red, thus matching Izumi’s heterochromia. Her nails turn into claws and her finger shrink in size. Skin forms between her fingers as pads form in her palm. Same with her feet but of her digits disappears completely. Her forepaws also seem to be slightly bigger than her hind paws. Shortly after her fur starts to grow like wildfire. Either out of pain, fear, or just trying to hind certain areas from Izumi; her tail was tucked between her legs. Her coat consists of two layers. Their first layer is made up of tough guard hairs that repel water and dirt. Their second layer is a dense, water-resistant undercoat that insulates the wolf and keeps it warm. The color of her fur was a reddish brown color like Izumi’s. After the transformation she continues to lay there and rest. Her body still hurts from the change.

Once full transformed Izumi help Shimete take of the mask and the two of them head towards the sound. Shimete activates her enhance smell as she does so. Hopefully anybody that spots them would think they are nothing but wild animals.

"Understood Shitsumansha. I'll approach the source of the sound and try to flank it."

Shin remove his hand from the radio as he quicken his pace towards the new location. So far it seemed only one person hand been hurt or killed while in Tensai group it seemed that Akane had encounter some kind of bear. She was a shinobi some it could be reasoned that she could deal with the animal herself, and if not her teammates were closer to her location than Shitsumansha, Fenlen, or he was. He was more concerned with the scream however, his mind going though quickly of the potential threat and how to proceed. While he was moving in that direction he made sure to look around, his tracker skills kicking in if something out of the ordinary caught his eye. He didn't want to be going after a potential threat or to be blindsided by another. Looking down, Shin caught the eye or one of the regular wolves, his head motioning back in the direction they had came from.

"Beta, continued forward from out original location. If you hear or smell anything out of the ordinary alert me and If you deem it a threat engage. If you can't find anything return, but keep any eye out. Go."

The wolf barked before veering of from his location. He turned to address the other two while keeping any eye on his surrounding. Especially the blue eyed one, a he was a potential asset that he didn't want to get killed due to his negligence.

"Meta, go from to the right of my position and approach the sound from the the front. If you spot anything that is a threat howl and and scatter. Don't engage just distract if position. Blue Alpha, stay close to me, keep you eye and noise alert for any sounds or senses that appear of from you. Only attack if either I do or you sense a possible threat to us."

Both wolves howled in acknowledgement while Shin eyes looked straight hand, keeping he hands ready. If it was a threat, he was taking them out quickly.

Ishikawa Zaku a.k.a. Himitsu

Zaku heard the bellows of the beast just seconds before Akane's call for help came in over the headset. "A giant bear?" he questioned. It sounded accurate by the sound of the thing, but as far as Zaku knew, there were only normal sized bears in this forest. "Weird." he commented before turning to go and help Akane fight this beast.

Upon his arrival, a rather large fireball was headed right for the thing. The Ishikawa paused for a moment to see if the ninjutsu would dispatch the beast, but it appeared this was no normal bear as predicted. It shook off the ninjutsu and just appeared to be even angrier. A normal beast would have tucked it's tail and run the instant it saw fire coming at it. He even as this ones hair continued to sing slowly, producing a foul odor, it remained.

"Tensai, you can stay your course and continue searching. I will assist Akane and we can catch up to you. We only have so much time." he suggested. This meant that he had a plan to deal with the unnatural creature. However, a suggestion could always be ignored.

He arrived behind Akane and was in the process of cutting one of his fingers to draw some blood. A few hand signs later, black scrawl appeared on the ground where he placed his hand and was soon replaced white smoke. Where Zaku had been was now one of his own summons. Kani is a giant spider crab, about thirteen feet long, if he were to spread out flat against the ground, from his very back legs to his very front claws. He is reddish brown, with tiny barnacles on his legs and claws. He also has tiny white markings all over his legs. On top of which, now stood Zaku. "Kani, would you care to help me out? That thing needs to die. It's attacking my future wife."

"I suppose." he said. With Akane between him and the bear, the giant crab extended his lengthy arms to begin to snap at the furry creature. "Mammals are so funny. None of you have any armor whatsoever." quipped the beastly crab. Even while joking, most of it's attacks seemed to be accurate.

AKANE and HIMITSU

The giant fireball hit the bastard square across the face, and though it seemed to hurt, the beat was intent on fulfilling it's mission of attacking whomever it could. Akane had set her doggies running before Zaku arrived. Her attempt at slashing at the bears neck may not have been the smartest, for the bear took one of it's giants claws and smacked her away. With self examination, she would find herself bleeding from the attack..

As she recovered from the attack, Zaku arrived behind and did his thing. He summon a Giant Spider Crab to counter the Giant bear. With the superior reach from it's long arms, it was able to attack without putting anyone else at risk. Three out of the fours attacks it made connected with the bear, causing it to bleed as well. Enraged, the beast blindly came at Kani with a bite attack and a slashing of it's claws. It's slash was easily dodged, but it managed to get it's maw around one of Kani's arms and began to chew on the tough exoarmor that the spider had.

To both Zaku and Akane, it appeared as if the bear was not close to dying, but it also wasn't in good shape either.

You along with Captain Blue eyes are moving north. All seems well for the most part, that is, until you reach your destination. As you step forward, you don't sense anyone, or anything amiss. Just unfortunately, you are dead wrong. You hear a snapping of branches, and what sounds like the whizzing of a rope of some kind, and it sounds like it's coming from above. Thankfully it didn't land right on top of you, but your left arm was hit by it pretty hard. But the worst part is, the giant boulder lands right on top of Yaone, the blue eyed wolf. It's flattened. Dead.

Someone has set traps in the area. You faintly here the sound of movement to the Northeast. It sounds like it's moving north.

Akane was slapped away so easily, and slammed into the ground a few meters away. She felt pain aching throughout her body, but she told herself to get up and charge the beast again. Maybe fighting close range was not a good idea. as she lifted herself up, she held her right side, discovering that her uniform had been ripped, and she was bleeding. This was no good, so she focused chakra into her hand, and performed the coagulation jutsu to stop her bleeding. She then switched it to mystical hands to at least heal the wound enough so she could move around easier. She had been watching Zaku, and his crab beast fight the bear in the meantime. She frowned at his mention of 'future wife'. She didn't think too kindly of people assuming such things. If she were to marry in the future, he would not be her first choice.

Once she the wound was in a good enough condition for her to jump around, she stood, and ran up a tree. She learned from her mistakes, so she would not make the mistake of fighting close range again. She performed a few hand signs, then released a lightning jutsu from her hands, making it into a trail, and guided it with her chakra to the bear beast. She made sure to make this jutsu extra 'shocking'. She remained on her post up high in the tree, and if the bear tried to climb it, or knock the tree down, she planned on jumping to another tree. "I am not Your future wife." She stated loudly to Himitsu. She wanted to make that clear.

While generating vast amounts of Lightning is one trick to the Santaru's ability, one would be a fool to compare their Electrical abilities to another. The Santaru are able to increase the voltage of any electricity they wish, using their own body and the chakra as a electrical turbine to create shocking, and destructive, bolts of energy.
