A battle was unavoidable. Neither truly had the empathy to understand what was likely going through their minds. Neither of them had the compassion to care. "Nope. A couple of novices with ninja powers giving you a run for your money?" Hachi replied as he walked through the flames. "Thought you got off on this shit like some sick fuck."
"Yeah, but these guys look like weirdos. A ginger vampire with a blindfold, a blonde bimbo, and an old guy with a young face... you try getting off looking at that," she complained.
There were things about her that would remind many of Shouki. How sexuality and violence were somehow intermingled but she had made no mention or display of her Jashinist faith. Perhaps she was not a Jashinist. Perhaps she merely shared in his interests. Perhaps they were friends.

Her fingers seemed to dance impossibly, bending the wrong way as she manipulated her weapon from afar. She would have made a useful shinobi, but rather she seemed to be allied with those of ill-intent. She would also make a powerful and dangerous criminal if she sought to fulfill her needs. What compelled her? That was a true curiosity. She did not have fear. Few Soverign did, fear was replaced with a new vice -- anger and hate. It was a part of their condition, how pain became lust or an expression of love. They were all broken people and she was no exception. Was she broken beyond repair? Likely. Nothing is every truly impossible but there are a great many things that were improbable. She enjoyed what she did. She was good at what she did. She did not know of another way to be. She did not care if there was another way. Perhaps that was what made her so dangerous, the fact that she was hollow.
Hachi landed a blow against Reiko, as a matter of fact statement he would announce to his partner, "Jashinist like the general." The swordsman was familiar with the general's tactics. Every Soverign was.
A zombie hoard would attempt to overwhelm Shi and Hachi.
"Where is the Oracle?" Shi would demand an answer as she shoved the zombies away and one of her puppets swung around and attempted to drag their claws against the Sunans.
"Be best if you knew something... Gives us a reason to end this quick," Hachi reasoned. Hachi was fast, he started drawing various items that he stored on his person. His blade moved almost too fast to notice, the whistle of his swift motion the only certainly that it was there before the cut was felt. A thin wire would threaten to wrap around limbs and cut into his victims painfully. Hachi always liked pointy things, well pointy things and poisons. They were a curiosity to him ever since he was a young lad. He never knew that his natural skill in poison was a link to his mother. In fact he never cared to know her beyond idle childish curiosity. Like any youth that did not know, he had questions but he had all the answers he ever cared to know. She was a two-cent whore from a small town in the badlands that was probably wrecked years ago in the maelstrom. He also knew the type, he has paid two cents before to spend a few hours in the company of a toothless hag well past their prime not that he would admit it. He did not have daddy issues, otherwise he would be asking every middle-aged ginger if they were his daddy. He heard a rumor from Shouki that his mother was still alive, Shouki was a dick like that. He made a few additional, lewd claims. The asshole was looking for a fight, he never got one. Hachi did appear different from Shi, he was younger. His attacks were more basic. Between the two, he was the weaker but that did not mean that he was not dangerous. "Trust me, you do not want to suffer like they did," he reasoned. That was the closest impression to a 'good-cop' they would find on this day among the Soverign.

A battle was unavoidable. Hachi and Shi had returned to the passages in the Obsidian for the purpose of exterminating the secretary and the stranger before their activities were revealed in a public manner. The swordsman and the marionette manipulator were stronger than they looked. Their expressions smug, they knew that their 'mess' had been discovered. Neither truly had the empathy to understand what was likely going through their minds. Neither of them had the compassion to care. They had entered to take care of this duo before they raised the alarm, however they were not alone. Behind them two more came, a reckless pair that joined the fray. Were they simply ANBU overlooked when they broken into the Obsidian or were they followed in? "Did you lock the door?" Shi bitched.
"Nope. A couple of novices with ninja powers giving you a run for your money?" Hachi replied as he walked through the flames. "Thought you got off on this shit like some sick fuck."
"Yeah, but these guys look like weirdos. A ginger vampire with a blindfold, a blonde bimbo, and an old guy with a young face... you try getting off looking at that," she complained.
There were things about her that would remind many of Shouki. How sexuality and violence were somehow intermingled but she had made no mention or display of her Jashinist faith. Perhaps she was not a Jashinist. Perhaps she merely shared in his interests. Perhaps they were friends.
"You going to ask them?" he grunted as Reiko's bladed assault sliced into him.
"Fine," she muttered. She was fast, more powerful than one would expect of such a small woman as she shifted out of the way of Reiko's attack. With a tug of invisible strings her puppet reacted and the razor-like hands of the the mannequin attempted to slice into one of the ginger. Puppeteering was indeed an unusual skill, the complexity of their application and use made them rare. Her fingers seemed to dance impossibly, bending the wrong way as she manipulated her weapon from afar. She would have made a useful shinobi, but rather she seemed to be allied with those of ill-intent. She would also make a powerful and dangerous criminal if she sought to fulfill her needs. What compelled her? That was a true curiosity. She did not have fear. Few Soverign did, fear was replaced with a new vice -- anger and hate. It was a part of their condition, how pain became lust or an expression of love. They were all broken people and she was no exception. Was she broken beyond repair? Likely. Nothing is every truly impossible but there are a great many things that were improbable. She enjoyed what she did. She was good at what she did. She did not know of another way to be. She did not care if there was another way. Perhaps that was what made her so dangerous, the fact that she was hollow.
Hachi landed a blow against Reiko, as a matter of fact statement he would announce to his partner, "Jashinist like the general." The swordsman was familiar with the general's tactics. Every Soverign was.
A zombie hoard would attempt to overwhelm Shi and Hachi.
"Where is the Oracle?" Shi would demand an answer as she shoved the zombies away and one of her puppets swung around and attempted to drag their claws against the Sunans.
"Be best if you knew something... Gives us a reason to end this quick," Hachi reasoned. Hachi was fast, he started drawing various items that he stored on his person. His blade moved almost too fast to notice, the whistle of his swift motion the only certainly that it was there before the cut was felt. A thin wire would threaten to wrap around limbs and cut into his victims painfully. Hachi always liked pointy things, well pointy things and poisons. They were a curiosity to him ever since he was a young lad. He never knew that his natural skill in poison was a link to his mother. In fact he never cared to know her beyond idle childish curiosity. Like any youth that did not know, he had questions but he had all the answers he ever cared to know. She was a two-cent whore from a small town in the badlands that was probably wrecked years ago in the maelstrom. He also knew the type, he has paid two cents before to spend a few hours in the company of a toothless hag well past their prime not that he would admit it. He did not have daddy issues, otherwise he would be asking every middle-aged ginger if they were his daddy. He heard a rumor from Shouki that his mother was still alive, Shouki was a dick like that. He made a few additional, lewd claims. The asshole was looking for a fight, he never got one. Hachi did appear different from Shi, he was younger. His attacks were more basic. Between the two, he was the weaker but that did not mean that he was not dangerous. "Trust me, you do not want to suffer like they did," he reasoned. That was the closest impression to a 'good-cop' they would find on this day among the Soverign.
"Don't encourage them," Shi complained as darkness stole her sight. A parlor trick. "They know the routine... And I prefer the hard way. Even if they suck."
