Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Aurora Eruditio -> Weapons!
[fontsize="11"]This day just keeps on getting better and better. Natsu thought sarcastically, as his plan backfired. Instead of putting them on a sidetrack, he had instead fuelled their own offensive. The youths responded as he could have expected, blushing and furiously denying it before throwing accusations at him. Even the girl who had smacked him full across the cheek seemed to distrust him by now. The yet unnamed man at least seemed to be on his side. It wouldn't offer much help however, as the younger ones were in the majority. Following Kahako into the room to get his cheek treated, he considered how best to defuse the allegations of him being a pervert.

At least he had been only accused of being a Peeping Tom. Rather that than a hormonal teenager in fact. After all, Tom only peeps. The teenager has a body filled with chemicals which have the potential to rob you of all common sense. If Natsu had to choose, Tom appeared to be the safest person to be around. The mention of him being a pedophile seemed odd to him, as he had only recently been of their age, but he'd have to denounce that. Now, how to best go about it.. He could try treating them all to donuts? Nope, strike that. Every mother knew that a pedophile's best weapon was candy, and he did not want to risk yet even more suspicion.

Sitting down on the chair, he started explaining before Kahako could silence him with her green hand. "First of all, if you two had not been dry-humping, I could not have been staring the entire time, could I? Otherwise I'd undoubtedly have found out you two in fact weren't. Also, if I had been staring the entire time, I probably would've seen Kahako coming up to punch me in the face, no? As for the time I had been standing outside, tell me honestly, what would you have done if you'd seen.. mature actions in an Academy dojo? Barge into the room to tell them to stop it? Go tell a superior? Just leave them be? I was thinking of the best way to deal with this." Natsu paused from his monologue to give them time to consider it themselves. He was actually curious what they would've have done though if they'd answer was a whole other matter.

"Just for your information, I was planning on just letting it slide and was about to leave. That's when he", Natsu pointed at Kosei, "saw me sitting outside the dojo and called out to me. Just a moment later I got hit by Kahako and the rest you know yourselves." Natsu concluded. "What did you say your name was again?" He'd ask Kosei, realizing the man hadn't introduced himself yet. Afterwards he'd sit silently in the chair so Kahako could patch up his cheek and the Genin would have the chance to consider everything he had just said. Hopefully they'd conclude correctly or today could end a lot worse than it had started.

Solum de Asphodelus -> Histories Mark
[fontsize="11"]”No ser, may me nan fall dead if I speak falsely! The niece of the barber of the personal maid General Sumihara said she’s found true love in an ambassador from the Bear Country!” The puffy innkeeper assured Natsu. The Chunin found it hard to resist the urge of walking away right then and there. The odds of the sister of PRMC’s leader having the hots for an ambassador of their country’s biggest rival is about as likely as Chunin being appointed division leader of the Main Branch. Oh wait… Natsu thought sarcastically Even so, the blonde found he could see it as no more than yet another overblown rumor, and wondered just how many more of these he’d have to hear before his trip would come to an end. He had lost the count at around twenty in just this town, yet feared he'd hear at least as many yet again before it he could leave the hamlet behind him.

He had been pretty excited when he had received approval for his request from the Legation. Seeing he had been out of town thanks to the mission involving the massive blacksmith, he had planned a route along Kumogakure's countryside. Having been promoted to Spymaster just a few weeks ago, he had found the reports from undercover agents often supplied him with only limited information. Some digging had revealed the previous Spymaster had managed a most impressive network of informers and spies, many of which had been simple civilians. Few enough remained still available for contact, most of them having died since. It had been about thirty years since the Spymaster function had been dissolved after all. So, Natsu had set out to set up new information points, which had proven painful enough.

Not wanting to reveal himself as a Shinobi to regular civilian.s as tensions had been rising lately, he had posed as a travelling merchant, much like his mission in Raiden no Me. A donut and a coin often loosened lips easily enough, and so he had heard more rumors than he had imagined could exist. Those few who had given him reliable information he had asked to keep in touch, promising them monetary rewards for their information. That had convinced near all of them. Yet the innkeeper here would turn out to be yet another disappointment it seemed. Natsu was just about ready to ask the man for a simple meal to finish the gossiping as by miracle a fellow Shinobi helped him out. "Donut!"

If there was anything that could get Do Natsu's attention it was that word. Not only because his name sounded so much alike, but because it was his favorite pastry. Some would call it an addiction, the Chunin having at least one daily. It baffled some of Kumogakure's finest Med-Nins that the overdose of sugar had so little effect on Natsu. The young Spymaster himself preferred to think of it as destiny, though his rigorous Shinobi training was more likely to be the saving grace. Back to the Shinobi however, Natsu quickly identified the boy as Ishikawa Zaku. Much like himself, the boy had just recently been elevated to rank of Death Watch Captain despite his age and relatively small amount of experience. Natsu still had to figure out whether the new Sennin was crazy or had some sort of genius reasoning for these upsetting promotions- most likely both.

Following the boy to his table, Natsu was glad to see the familiar face. He ordered a plate of trout and rice. If there was one thing the countryside in Solum de Asphodelus it was that the rivers along the Rolling Hills held some of the best fish around. The conversation at the table, set apart to prevent prying ears from listen in on their conversation, was simple but interesting. Zaku informed him about his mission to scout out Kumogakure's surroundings as new Gate Captain and vice versa Natsu the boy about his intentions of setting up new information posts. The Spymaster found himself agreeing to travel along. Their destinations were much alike after all, and the young man made for a surprisingly interesting conversation partner. At least Zaku hadn't brought up the awkward first encounter at the Academy yet. At the first mention of the word 'Pedophile' or Natsu'd be gone quicker than one could say 'Pedobear'.

They set out swiftly enough, Natsu slipping his contact information to the innkeeper as he bought fresh rations. It was unlikely the man would ever turn in a useful report, but better safe than sorry. Perhaps the meal had helped his mood more than expected. If so, the innkeeper had Zaku to thank for the opportunity at some extra coin. The town was behind them quick enough, the two Shinobi making their way along the few ruins of Solum. As Zaku brought up food, the Spymaster found his own stomach growling in affirmation.

Natsu had never cared much for old buildings, then again, they always held the possibility of hiding old books containing long forgotten knowledge. The odds of finding any such treasures by simply eating a meal in the outskirts of a ruinous city were very small, but it'd keep the two of them out of the wind and rain. Natsu had lived long enough in the Santaru filled Kumo to know clouds could drop rain all too quickly, even if they were accompanied by a shining sun. Leading Zaku into one of the buildings, they found a patio with its stone benches and table still mostly intact. The duo could even enjoy the sight of the sea from here. Natsu figured it must've been a wonderful city to spend a vacation. Perhaps one day, if the whole village won a global lottery they could start reconstruction works here. It was an entertaining thought, one he offered Zaku as discussion topic while they ate.

De Cevitate Attonbitus -> The Blacksmith
[fontsize="11"]Time-skipping back and fro, Natsu found himself momentarily back in time, before he had addressed the two apprentices. "Hmmhm, I can't complain. He sure has a unique way of leading. It makes me wonder if he is a genius or simply just doing whatever seems hilarious to him. So far it has always worked out however, so I'm willing to believe the former. The dress code he implemented isn't too bad either. The tailors are greedily making use of it though. I've paid twice the original price already and still they're unwilling to put any haste into it."</B> The Spymaster concluded. He himself had not made too much progress yet, still trying to get all of his newfound minions servants slaves subordinates under his control. Most Jonin and several Chunin weren't all too happy with his sudden promotion.

Back to the future, Natsu listened to what Kitsune had to remark. So it appears I'm not the only one who skips waiting lines like that then. The Chunin discovered as Kitsune revealed her secret. The boys seemed to accept his explanation, and Kitsune's example, easily enough and broke out into a waterfall of words when they heard his question. That Blacksmith most certainly is not your Everyday Joe Natsu was forced to admit, wondering just what their goal for this mission was supposed to be. The mission was becoming more complex by the moment. "Cloud has an Academy devoted to teaching about Chakra and it's techniques. The two of you may be a bit older than the usual recruits, but I'm sure you would still be accepted if you'd apply." He told the men before sinking into thought.

The smith did not strike him as familiar, something his massive stature no doubt would have done, so was he a known Shinobi to Cloud? And if so, was he a former Cloud-nin or a foreigner they were just supposed to keep tabs on. Cloud's leadership had recalled both Santaru Rin and Takaki Masao though. The latter had just recently been promoted to Main Branch Sennin and his wife was ANBU Commander. So why not recall this giant of a man? Surely he would've proved an amazing asset in their trouble with Makoro. And why was he tutoring these men instead of sending them to the Academy? Any children with an aptitude for controlling Chakra were normally tracked down and sent there. Most curious indeed. Reaching the smithy, he called out. "Everyone returned safely. No incidents. Further orders?"

Torre Celeste -> The Legation -> The First Story
[fontsize="11"]The new Spymaster was severely tested. Torn between holding in his laughter and being ready to intercept a hotheaded Hikari and/or Zaku, he held a close eye over the duo in front of their new chief. He almost lost his composure at the suggestion of the bikini-mission yet figured if ever there was a time the redhead would charge her Sennin it'd be now. Thankfully, none of it seemed to happen and Masao carried on straight to business. Sending off his hand on a diplomatic mission and praising the girl's sister. Natsu wondered how exactly Tama had gotten the job. Admittedly, he still was trying to adjust to his own position, but this one seemed even more absurd. Even when taking the Shogun's fetish into account. Natsu let out a sigh of relief nonetheless.

The event had passed and with no blood being spilled. Quite an achievement, considering each of the Shinobi were supposed to be ruthless killing machines. And notorious bar fighters too. The new Sennin himself could attest to that little fact. Perhaps that was one of the reasons he had been appointed to the rank? Being the best, or worst depending on your point of view, brawler after consumption of alcohol. The Chunin couldn't imagine the Raikage basing his decision off of that, but then again, the man had had some unique views on how Shinobi should be. Yet that wasn't the only surprising thing about him, Natsu discovered. The Chancellor had a romantic interest in him, that rumor was well and widely spread as 'secret'. Yet that she extended him invitations for such dinners had escaped him. Perhaps because the Raikage always turned them down. Even if the man had important matters to attend to, surely he could make time for a guest such as the Chancellor? Especially if it meant keeping their trade routes safe.

"No one touches my cocoa." Natsu muttered, a defiant look in his eye. If he'd be able to avert such as a Spymaster, he didn't need a reason to be appointed. For all he cared it would have been okay if he had been appointed simply because Masao liked making fun of his name. "Right, lead the way Sennin-sama. Let's prevent that embargo at all costs. Did you know, by the way, that recent studies indicate that cocoa reduces cardiovascular damage and stroke risk by lowering cholesterol, slowing harmful blood clot formation, and helping to regulate blood pressure by dilating blood vessels and making them more flexible? I'm no Med-Nin, but maybe if we sent the Chancellor a basket she won't be as stressed or angry over the Raikage's denial."

Dragon Tooth Pass-> Slapping a Blacksmith
[fontsize="11"][fontsize="11"]And so the band of misfits arrived back at the grand gates of Kumogakure. They had set out with tree ANBU, a Med-Nin and a Main-Branch Shinobi following a disappointed civilian. Now the group returned with the same Shinobi, minus the Med-Nin who had gone off ahead, but they had traded the civilian for a blacksmith. Not just a regular blacksmith mind you. This one was massive in size, was familiar enough with Chakra to teach others how to wield it and, so had Natsu been able to figure out after some snooping around, had been a high-ranking ANBU officer. Oh, and the man had a sword with an eye in it. Can't forget that nightmarish ornament. All in all, Natsu felt they had made some progress on this mission.

Reaching the gates, Natsu reached for his passport. He personally knew the new Deathwatch Captain, and couldn't help but wonder if Zaku would be on duty today. The chances were slim. He had heard the boy had already put down his foot as Captain and arranged some or other sensitivity training. The Spymaster found it hard to imagine but perhaps authority had worked it's magic on the younger boy. The Gates seemed well-staffed at the moment at the very least. Natsu could make out a shift of movement here and there which indicated they'd not have to wait too long. At least, he hoped so. The Death Watch's ability to slack off was a near legendary thing. Not that Natsu would blame them, it was just such a boring job he imagined.

Dragon Tooth Pass-> His Majesty's Shinobi Service
[fontsize="11"]"What do you mean you can't find the report, Ryushin?" Natsu asked, agitation clear in his voice. The boy had been tasked to deliver all of the messages the Spymaster's informers sent in straight to his desk. And somehow even just that task seemed to be beyond the kid. "I- I.. I don't.. It was right here, sir! I swear!" Natsu groaned, rolling his eyes. Once he might've been more tolerant and comprehensive about the situation. Not now that both the Main Branch Sennin and himself were leaving Kumogakure however. Because who was tasked with making all of the preparations for anything that might happen during their absence? Right, you guessed it. That poor ol' Spymaster. It left him with so little time he had barely even a donut in the past three days.

"Never mind it, I'll read it when I get back. And you had better found the damn thing by then." Natsu warned the boy, before shooing him off. The report wasn't all that vital, but he would have enough reports to catch up when he'd be getting back. Even just the one could mean the difference between an all-nighter and some rest.

When he had first been promoted this amount of paperwork had not been what he had been expecting. Much rather he had imagined guns, suits, gorgeous women at his beck and call, catchphrases involving his name and the likes. It turned out such glamorous jobs were best left to actors however, and the Chunin had resigned himself to just doing the administrative work rather than complain. Hearing about the mission had been much like the promotion however. First the joy of finally getting to do something exciting, before realizing that it was just another pile of papers waiting for him. Natsu made a mental note about punching the first person who dared asking to sign a report while out on the mission.

Looking the office over one more time, he made his way towards the Gates. A folder of instructions had been left behind for the Sennin's Hand, Mochizuki Tama, and the Chief Ambassador, Tanaka Hikari. Just in case some sort of emergency would occur in the Village. Things to check, reports to hide, places to defend, people to kill,.. He had listed it all. Not that he didn't trust them per say, he just was slightly worried considering their.. notable personalities. He hoped it would prove to be unnecessary. Not just because of the potential disaster that would befall Kumo in such a case, but also because he had made mention of his secret stash of donuts. In case of a famine, y'know?

As he finally arrived at the Gates, he looked about for the team, spotting Masao rather easily in the crowd. They had shared an office for quite a while now after all. Walking over to the Sennin, the Spymaster noticed the Med-Nins gathered around him. He had found that a bit odd, while studying the mission roster. He had little say in the assignments of Shinobi to missions, but was at least allowed to look into them as befitting his rank. That was somewhat of an advantage he assumed. The only reason he could come up with for the medical heavy setup was so that in case things did go sour, they'd be able to try and prevent any lethal things going down with the wonders of healing magic Jutsu.

He was glad to know two of them already though. Kitsune from the last mission and Kahako from their.. awkward encounter at the Academy. It could prove to be a wee bit awkward but they were professionals, they'd get over it. Besides, it offered him the chance to return her book on anatomy she had forgotten at the Academy. He had held on to it, unsure of where to reach her. He had considered the hospital yet had not been sick, so it could have come across as creepy again. Their last team member he did not personally know, but had done some research about. Kaguya Daisuke, Chief Med-nin and, as his name revealed, owner of the same Kekkei Genkei as Natsu. It'd prove to be an interesting meeting.

Reaching the group, Natsu noted the two Med-Nin wearing a mask each. Had the Medical Branch undergone a change of image as well while he hadn't been paying attention? Conform to the Main Branches own new regulations, Natsu was wearing a tailored suit. That was the only part of his fantasy which had come true so far. The suit was outfitted with enough hidden pockets to transport a week's worth of donuts. Not that he used it for that purpose, of course not! His suit might get dirty! .. Though he had discovered that the hard way.

"Morning sir. Morning ladies." He greeted them, nodding at each one of them. Sliding his backpack seemingly only stashed with folders and books to the ground, he reached in and handed Masao a folder. "Last week's summarized reports. I figured you'd have some time during the trip." He explained, before reaching in again. Shuffling through more reports, donut catalogues and manga’s, he finally fished up the anatomy book. "Here, you forgot this one last time, Kahako."

[fontsize="11"]"Ah, sure thing. I've marked some errors in it though, so you might want to read it through again." Natsu replied as he slid Kahako's anatomy book back into his pack. He had never been a Medical Ninja or even an MiT such as Kahako was at the moment. His mother was though and so there had been a large stack of books lying around the house. Also, he could pop out his skeleton at any given moment. That was quite helpful for studying the human anatomy as well. How the errors had remained unnoticed for so long was beyond the Chunin, but perhaps Kahako simply had had some bad luck picking out a book in the library. That, or the writer had had as much knowledge about the human body as Daisuke had about fashion.

As the aforementioned Chief floated to the ground Natsu couldn't help but lift his eyebrow in surprise and for a moment thought he might be on Punk'd. The Sennin greeted him formally nonetheless and the Med-Nins seemed to recognize him well enough. Natsu would keep his thoughts about the Space Cowboy however. After all, his mission with Hikari and Zaku had at first seemed like it could turn out in a babysit assignment. Looking at their potential now however, both having been promoted to Division Heads, it showed just how little appearances meant. Instead, he simply nodded in greeting at the man.

Refraining from making a comment about the man or inquiring about the.. curious clothing like Kitsune, the Spymaster found it harder and harder to keep his composure towards Daisuke. It were the little things really. The obliviousness to who his colleagues were, the lack of confidence, the miss-pronunciation of Masao's name.. The way he so casually ignored Natsu. Shifting his attention from the inexplicably odd man to Masao, he closely followed the briefing as well. What he heard turned his mood sour. Of course he had known of the political games the nobles played and the ever-shifting balance of loyalty. It was his job to know those. But hearing it all summed up like that made it painfully clear just how bad the situation was.

It was undeniable that Lightning Country was in a fragile position at the moment. After the recent civil war for the Shogun's throne many people were still rebuilding their destroyed homes and lives, and the flames of rebellion still scorched hot. If they were to lose so much territory, the Country of the Bear would only get more confident and war would not stay away for long. If they were to harm the envoys of Bear however, let alone the King, war would only be brought upon them even sooner. And with the current regard for Shinobi by the common civilians, they could not afford sparking another way due to their actions. The attack would be three-pronged, coming from the Bear, Marsh and their own people. And that was one of the better-case scenarios in case they'd mess up this mission.

Dark thoughts and a pessimistic mindset would not help however, thus Natsu thought of his happy place. No, not a donut shop. That would be preposterous! It was a library.. With a donut shop inside of it. Regardless of how much sense that made, it did lift his spirits and not even Kitsune's double usage of 'Shall we?' deterred him from it. Though it did make him wonder about the sanity of the Medical Branch again. Following his Sennin, the enthusiastic women and the mumbling Chief through the Gates Natsu set out on another whacky adventure.

[fontsize="11"]What the hell is going on down there!? Natsu thought furiously, wishing he too had a spyglass. Despite that, he knew it was taking too long for the ANBU to get away. And Masao's words confirmed the fact that -something- was going awry. It wasn't until that one word, that one name, that he froze in place. ".. Enishi?!" No.. It can't be. Not here! Not now! Natsu had never known the man personally, but knew about him. Of course the Spymaster did, how could he not? Assassinations, high treason, ex-Kumogakure Shinobi. The man was the most wanted criminal in the whole of the Lightning Country. He had deserved that six star wanted rating with good cause. And whoever brought him would earn deserve the ridiculous sum labelled for his delivery.

Now was no time to panic however, and Natsu looked over to the Sennin's headpiece, as if it would somehow enable him to hear the conversation. Cursed be those private channels. Masao's reaction spoke clearly enough however, and so did his command. Bolting away as his leader shouted the command for battle, he was surprised to see the man overtake him in but moments. Sure, he was the motherloving Sennin, but such speed at that age.. Natsu would've been impressed, if it wasn't for the pressing matter ahead of him. Pushing his limits to try and keep up with the boss, he almost tripped when he saw what conspired down below at the meeting.

Takayama has betrayed us? That.. That couldn't be! Vice-Commander Takayama, perfect track record, and now this?! What kind of sorcery is going here?! The Chunin wanted to scream, though before he could, the gravest treason of all took place before his very eyes. "NOOOOOO!" The Spymaster bellowed, stretching his arm out though he would never be able to reach. Masao got struck, dagger flashing into his throat, a fountain of red spraying out of his mouth. Spurred on by the death of his superior, as odd as their relation may have been, he thundered onto the field, only to be halted by the three Kingslayers.

It was only then that he surveyed their position, a fatal error, something he should've done a lot sooner. Three, no two, Kingslayers blocking the path. Two Kingslayers more behind them, busying themselves with a wounded Masao and the Hoshikage. A dead King, three arrested nobles and their contingent of bodyguards. The larger squad of Bear soldiers. Star Shinobi rushing towards us from the hills. And it was his job to ensure this incident would not lead to war. It wasn't to keep Masao alive, nor defeat the Kingslayers. Those were secondary, as much as he hated to admit it. And whatever he'd do, he'd have to do it quickly.

Tapping into his headset, not quite aware of the position of his team members, he quickly gave instructions, sounding as certain as he could manage. "Kitsune, Kahako. Try and save the Bear King. Daisuke, make sure the Kingslayers don't interrupt them." It was short and terribly vague, but it was most he could give them for now. Once more surveying the area, Natsu rammed his fist into the ground, growling in pain as calcium flowed from his arm into the soil. Moments later, spires of white bone sprouted around the group, effectively preventing the soldiers to advance further. On the con side, it also locked them in with all of the Kingslayers. He'd just have to hope Daisuke could keep them away from his colleagues.

The bones formed a sloppy circle around the pack of four Kingslayers, a dying king and ANBU, heavily injured Sennin, an undoubtedly very confused Hoshikage, four Kumo-nin and the arrested nobles with their bodyguards. Natsu hadn't been quite aware he'd kept them inside as well, though figured it was for the best. After all, if the Bear soldiers couldn't get to them, they might vent their frustration on the nobles. "You men," Natsu barked at the startled bodyguards. "Help protect the Medical Ninja and we might just forgive the actions of your lords. Refuse, and you'll die. Be it by the enemies' or my own hands." Looking back at the two Kingslayers, Natsu hesitated for just a moment. Would the Med-Nin be okay with just Daisuke and the bodyguards? Or should he stay as well? No, he couldn't. Not if they wanted to get out of here without a war on their hands. He had to secure another ally.

"Daisuke.. I'm be counting on you." He said to the man, hoping his combat abilities would exceed his sense of fashion, before jumping sideways into one of the spires. He had always found it an odd feeling, each time he had practiced the Jutsu. Yet it was part of him, and he could freely control it anyway he wished. Moving, if that was the correct way to describe it, through them, he emerged on the other side of the circle, next to Masao. "Get to Kitsune. You need healing. Then help me prevent this potential war." He warned the man, though he himself walked straight towards the Hoshikage. Slipping another bone from his arm, he molded it into the crude shape of a sword, before pointing it towards Enishi and the odd girl.

"My lady. I apologize for this.. most unfortunate event." He declared to the Hoshikage, though he would not take his eyes away from the Kingslayers, hoping the Kage would at least hear him out. "If we wish to survive this ordeal and prevent further escalation however, I request you aide us, at least for the moment. Our Medical-Nin are already taking care of Haninozuka-Heika." Hopefully she would accept this offer. And hopefully, they would indeed get away from this with both their lives and an unbroken truce. Though that certainly is quite a lot to hope for considering the odds. The Spymaster thought grimly, gripping his sword more tightly, readying himself for combat.

[fontsize="11"]Natsu's eyes narrowed as Enishi confirmed his words. It made little sense for the Rogue-Nin to aide them, certainly in this situation. There was no time to be distracted however, a lesson the Spymaster had clearly learnt better than his opponent. Seizing the opportunity, his blade whistled through the air as it hacking into Enishi's neck. The satisfactory feeling melted away like snow before the sun as the truth was revealed however. "By Raiden's hai-.." Natsu muttered, remembering just in time that he stood next to the Hoshikage. Mentioning his God's furry gonads probably wouldn't make much of a good impression on the woman. The fact that a humongous naked man, if it could be called that, appeared out of nothing would've probably distracted her from it though.

"Is.. Is that a human?" Natsu questioned to no one in particular, before it thundered off into the distance with all of the Kingslayers. Which made him worry about the Med-Nin. He had left them behind against two very dangerous opponents after all, with just Daisuke and the bodyguards as defense. And Masao.. He had sent his Sennin so badly injured to them. Had that foolish boss of his made it or succumbed from the wounds before either of the Med-Nin could've gotten to him? Rushing over to where he had abandoned them, he let out a soft gasp of relief. Everyone seemed to be okay, though Daisuke looked pretty banged up and Masao still a bit pale from the blood loss.

As Masao addressed him, Natsu could only nod. His expression had grown sour again, the escape from the Rogue-Nin stinging almost as badly as the botched up mess this entire mission had become. And then came the dreadful question. "What of the King?" The response was just as horrid. The Medical Ninjas had been powerless in the face of such injuries. It had been their only job.. But not even they could work against the laws of life and death. Or plot, depending on your religious beliefs.

When the Sennin inquired about the Star Shinobi, Natsu motioned his heads towards the Kage, but never quite finished the motion. Head frozen mid-shake, he stared with slight disbelief at the.. thing behind Masao. It was almost the exact opposite of the being Enishi had summoned. While big, it was only half its size; Hairy where the giant had been naked skin; Animalistic to the point of feral compared to the more mechanical movement of the earlier creature; Hair gonads much like Raiden's too, unlike the Giant from before. And apparently Sennin of the Star Ninja.

"Tell me why the hell we shouldn’t just kill you all right now.” Natsu had heard difficult questions and near impossible requests in his life before. What is the square root of a pancake? What is the difference between a duck? If you were a pencil stuck in an automated sharpener, how would you escape? Sweetie, do I look fat in this dress? Could you please put down the donut? Yet none of those seemed as complicated as the on the Hoshikage had just posed him. Nor had they pressured him with the looming threat of a war being unleashed if he answered wrong. Could this day get any worse still?

Looking over to Masao, Natsu decided to take the lead. He was unsure of Masao's current mental state after the death of his close friend and a near-death experience himself. "Because it would serve you no purpose other than more needless bloodshed. I request you think this over, Hoshikage-Sama." It was a bold move, and he wasn't sure how she'd respond to such a blunt response. First things first however, and that were introductions. "My name is Do Natsu, Spymaster of Kumogakure as the Kingslayer Enishi told you. Along with me is the Sennin of Kumogakure, Takaki Masao, Medical Chiefs Kaguya Daisuke and Shinrya Kitsune and Med-Nin Higa Kahako." Had he revealed too much? Perhaps, but they needed the trust from these people if they were to leave unharmed. And lies would yield little trust.

"First and foremost, we would like to express our most sincere condolences regarding the death of Haninozuka-Heika. We had no intention whatsoever of killing your king, I can assure of you that. Our intention was to simply arrest the Lightning Nobles. We will have to investigate why the ANBU in question disregarded his explicit orders. The most likely answer would be that he was acting under the influence of a Genjutsu. The presence of four Kingslayers makes this a very plausible scenario." The Spymaster had little doubt the Kingslayers were known in the Bear Country. Their crimes were many and grave after all. And surely the Bears had spies entrenched well in the Lightning Country.

Natsu paused for a moment, giving the Star Shinobi a moment to process all of the information. "I understand such a simple explanation will not suffice for the damage caused. However, killing us will only result in more pointless bloodshed. Not only our blood, but the inevitable war that will follow. Instead, I'd like to request you permit us to leave in peace so we can hunt down the criminals responsible for the death of your King. Rest assured that we will not let this crime go unpunished and that it will be our number one priority to stop the Kingslayers once and for all." Had it been enough? Would it suffice to postpone the Hoshikage's thirst for blood? Natsu could only hope so. Not only for their sake, but for the sake of the entire Lightning Country.

[fontsize="11"]Natsu was just about ready to smack each and every one of his companions. Running their mouths like that in front of the Hoshikage, Kitsune even going as far as threatening her, had more chance of making this end up badly rather than convince her of their sincerity. And while Kahako's words made sense, there was no reason whatsoever to point it out to these foreign Shinobi. Most everyone had probably considered it, but pointing it out so clearly made it seem as if Kumo was too easily infiltrated. And being vulnerable was not exactly Natsu liked to portray at the moment.

The woman in question, seemingly lost in thought, apparently did not pay it much mind. Whether it was due to her already having settled the idea of killing them or by being too distracted by Kitsune's ample bosom the Spymaster couldn't tell, but he prayed it was the later. Raiden seemingly smiled favorably upon them as the red-faced woman did not demand everyone's head. Only retribution, but that could come in many a way. Wracking his head, trying to come up with a favorable solution, he froze up once more at Masao's words. Jerking his head towards the man, hoping to dissuade him from the mad idea, his Sennin seemed for too determined to be talked out of it as he was already disarming himself.

Retracting that offer now would only mean insult to the Star Shinobi, something we can't afford to do. Yet there has to be another way! Think you fool! What would baby Shinbatsu do? But not even that offered him any new insights, and as the beastly Sennin rumbled his approval, the deal seemed sealed. Natsu could only look on helplessly as his own Sennin was bound. The feeling of powerlessness seemed to be a recurring one today. First the actions of Takayama and now this. Had he such bad karma?

"..I am appointing you acting Sennin of the Main Branch." Natsu wanted to scream. He could care less for the title. Kumo needed experienced leaders, with the looming threat of war even more so than ever. How could he hope to match up to Masao in such a way? Why could not he be dragged off? He might not carry the same importance, but surely they'd be happy with him as a hostage too.. Right? The further instructions were heard, though barely registered as the Spymaster nodded wordlessly. Only when the man turned did Natsu find his tongue once more. "Please survive this, Masao-sama. You have to."

Due to all of the commotion, he had barely even noticed Kitsune and her folly. Resisting the urge to facepalm just barely, he watched her get bound all the same. Hearing her final words, he wanted to tell her "I sincerely hope you haven't just condemned Masao to death." As harsh as it might've seemed, the Spymaster did not have an awful lot of love for the Med-Nin at the moment. Perhaps he was hating the wrong person and had her inability to save the King too been a plot device rather than her incapability. Perhaps he should curse the Mission Moderator. But if that simple Med-Nin would cause the death of his Sennin by her wild tongue and even wilder actions, he'd make sure she'd suffer. Some way or another.

As the Star Shinobi and company departed, Masao and Kitsune as their prisoners, Natsu turned with to the leftovers of his own group. Two Med-Nin, three bound nobles and a bunch of bodyguards. His expression turned hard as he barked his orders. "You men," he pointed at a couple of the bodyguards, "Improvise a stretcher and carry the ANBU. The others will make sure to escort their lords safely to Kumogakure. They'll be detained until the Capital sends agents to retrieve them. They'll face trial at Raiden no Me. Daisuke, Kahako, I assume you both are capable of travel on horseback, even in the current conditions?" He asked, not really waiting for an answer and instead walking over to the horses the nobles would no longer be needing. He'd have to get back to the village and quickly. Shit had gone down and they'd need to find a very experienced plumber to get them out of this mess.
