Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Main Islands -> Glass Tunnels -> Once
[fontsize="11"]Shifting his weight from one foot the other, Natsu awkwardly stood there with the Shima Crow in his arms, peering around for by-passers as the woman cleaned her face. He certainly hadn't been expecting this when they had set out to Mist. Sure, he had hoped they'd be able to put their past experiences behind them. He hadn't quite anticipated hugging and crying in a glass tunnel underneath several tons of water. His Sennin had apparently done so however, if his telegram was any indication. It had been an.. odd message, but Natsu thought he had understood the gist of it.

Well, once he had gotten over the fact that his Sempai Sennin had acknowledged him anyway. Even to the point of calling him otouto-chan! The poor Chunin had nearly fainted and scrambled to grab the milk to calm down. The mention of tsudere waifus and siring of bastards had quite flustered him, spitting out the milk he had just been gulping down however. As well as the question about the Ambassador's bust size. The Spymaster knew he should've gotten around to it a lot sooner, but the thought of upsetting that red-haired devil with more pervertedness had made him put it off just a day longer each time.

His attention was pulled from the letter back to the Med-Nin as she spoke. Looking down at her, he could help but laugh at her words. The sound echoed through the tunnel, making him quickly put a hand in front of his mouth to stifle the laughter. He didn't want to attract any unnecessary attention, even if they were alone. "Two Cloud-Nin in Kirigakure. Both have ancestral ties to the Village. Both are perfectionists. What could possibly go wrong, huh?"<i></i> Natsu joked, winking at her. ".. Y'know, I also want to apologize for my words when our trip just started. I hope you will consider accompanying me to the political discussions when the time arrives?"<i></i>

[fontsize="11"]Hissing in disapproval of the condescending laughter and pat, Natsu looked up angrily. Perhaps it was the feline nature creeping into his own attitude, but the little kitten didn't like it one bit. As the larger beast dismissed his words and turned his back, the Spymaster tried a final attempt. Arching his back, he shouted. "I'll do it right meow if you want! Or are you scared you might lose your title of protector, huh?" The words didn't seem to have any effect and the lynx simply stalked back off towards the brushes.

"Hmmphp." Natsu muttered, before turning around. Most of his 'army' had abandoned him, seeing how Taiga had belittled him and gotten away unscathed. The odd little kitten might've caught the Red Lightning but if he couldn't take down the protector of the Valley, then what good would he be outside of the paradise? In fact, why would they even want to leave paradise? No, better to drink, eat and play all day. Thinking about it like that, Natsu figured he could just as well enjoy it for now. His plan hadn't worked and no other immediately came to mind.

"So.. I guess we'll be stuck here for a mwhile longer, huh? I'm sorry for causing this. If I had mnown, I wouldn't have called you out for the.. Harsh words earlier." Natsu apologized to Haruka. Truthfully, it wasn't his fault at all. But he had to apologize for his crudely chosen words earlier anyway. Best get the two out of the way at the same time. Whether she would accept them or not was entirely up to her, but Natsu wouldn't try and chase after her if she decided to storm off angrily. Best let it rest and think of a plan. While drinking some milk and playing with a ball of thread perhaps? That didn't sound half bad.

Silver Tower -> Consulate Chambers -> Trick or Treaty!
[fontsize="11"]Ah, it seemed Natsu had been hasty in his introductions. Just as the Spymaster and his fellow Kumo-Nin had finished their introduction, a giant of a man entered the room. Observing the stone as he introduced himself, Natsu couldn’t help but find him eerily similar to the Sennin of the Star Village. Though if this man was a rock, the other had been a gorilla. Both were very much unlike his own Sennin however. Takaki Masao, ex-Vice Commander of the ANBU and current Main Branch Sennin. And his unofficial Aniki! If this went right, no doubt Masao would recognize him!

Snapping back to the real world, he nodded in recognition to the man and once more repeated his introduction. The Mist Sennin appeared to be a no nonsense man however, quickly turning his attention to the treaty. Now the other Mist-Nin spoke up, revealing her own position as well. Another Sennin, making only the Medical leader missing from the trio. Natsu found it mattered little. If he could convince two thirds now, he’d have an edge when he finally got to meet the Kage.

Nodding with a small smile at Masa’s joking remark about the stay in Kirigakure, Natsu leaned in to show his attention lay with the woman’s words. Just as he was about to respond to her many questions, Rozan interrupted. The Spymaster decided to let it slide. As much as he’d prefer to wrap up all business here as quickly as possible, there were secrets to be learned here. Sadly, only a small amount of rumors were confirmed and no secrets gained.. Yet. He’d let the Kiri-Nin argue and squabble between themselves as much as they wished before he’d play his cards. Information was power after all, and doubly so for a Spymaster.

Sand’s status Natsu knew about, if only due to the information his spies were able to supply him with. Actually, it was better to state the lack of info. Word hardly ever reached him as it had to travel far and through desolate land. The Chunin himself would not seek an alliance with them, even without hearing Rozan’s words about it. The Sand Queen deal he had heard about. It was hard not to, certainly around these parts. The fact that the ANBU Sennin said so little about it made Natsu glad. It likely meant she underestimated their knowledge.

Yet another series of questions was asked and yet again, the Spymaster was interrupted from answering. It would’ve been almost funny. If only the Kiri-Nin knew how much they were revealing within this very room. Cereza was part of the ANBU Branch, he noted. And she was very much convinced of Kumo’s wealth. Not just the monetary but more specifically cultural kind. She had clearly paid attention to the Bibliotheca Conscientiae as well as all of the Hospita equipment. She also had a clear eye for diplomacy. Perhaps it had been due to the pregnancy and worries of a young mother, but Natsu clearly had underestimated her at least a bit.

As Rozan finally seemed to close the married couple’s barrage of info for their superiors with a last question, the Cloud Chuunin would wait and see if it would be answered by either Sennin. After the answer, or if given the signal he could finally begin his explanation, he took the word. “Right, well then. I think I remember most of the questions which have been asked. If I skip any of them, feel free to remind me.” He opened, clearing his throat and starting on the mental list of answers he had made.

“Echanging cultural wealth, information about any Missing-Nin or high class criminals as well as relationships with other Nations does seem to sum up the requests written down in the Treaty. We are more than willing to look at any expansions upon these terms and your proposal for a limit of three Shinobi or Kunouchi to learn eachother’s language seems more than fair. Though I would request it would not be Shima Haruka to be our third person to learn the language. Our Chief Ambassador being able to converse in your tongue seems a much more logical choice than a Medical Nin, if you catch my drift.” The blonde man spoke. Surely Haruka would see the logic in this. If not, he’d clarify further after the meeting.

“As for our political standing with the other Hidden Villages, we currently are in a neutral position with all. As Rozan and Cereza no doubt can testify to, our Village has a strong economic and cultural strength. We felt confident in consolidating our own Village before seeking contact with any of the other Great Nations.” He clarified, not bothering to mention the Star and Bear villages. They did not measure up to Lightning, and not even to the young Village of Mist. It’d be of little relevance to this meeting.

“Sand is a desolate place indeed and was not deemed worth the effort to seek an alliance with. Leaf is a somewhat.. Touchy subject. One of their Missing-Nin was involved in the killing of one of our Kages. The Late Kagetsu Kiyo. This has been taken care of, however. The Killer brought to fair justice. ” At least one of them anyway. He added mentally “Cloud does not view Leaf as it’s enemy, only the Missing-Nin in question. In fact, only the upper ranks of our Leadership are aware that an ex-Leaf-Nin was involved. Still, some of our elder diplomats feel a certain grudge towards that Village. Which is why we have not sought an alliance with them yet either.”[/b]

Clearing his throat, the Chunin took a sip of water from his glass. It’d allow to give the Mist-Nin time to let his words sink in for a moment, mull them over. “As far as Missing-Nin go, we have not have any in a very long time. Our latest Medical Sennin has erected a separate wing in the Hospital for the Shinobi with such dangerous tendencies. If they are not able to be cured, they are cut from the system before they can deal any harm. This is not to say we have perfect control over each of our Shinobi, but we have certainly enjoyed a calm period in that regard. However, to play all of our cards and not be held to hide information later, I will inform you of this:”

“Our Lightning Country is currently.. suffering from a gang calling themselves ‘The Kingslayers’. This group consists of Missing-Nin from other Hidden Villages and was very likely started by the aforementioned killer of our Kage. We have dealt several strong blows to them recently however and are certain they will not pose a problem for very much longer. Their main goal seems to be messing with the political system within Lightning however, so the Water Country nor Kirigakure should have any incidents with these individuals.”
He did not like admitting the weakness, but they had to show at least some. Else it would be suspicious for such a seemingly dominant Village to be willing to ally itself with a young and troubled Village.

“Finally, what Cereza has said about our Library and Medical resources are among the best in the world, if I may be so bold. Our rich history has allowed the Library to stock up on many a scroll and text. Our Medical Sennin has legalized Kinjutsu and keeps a tight administration on it. He also has taken measures against the more dangerous individuals of our society as mentioned before. But I’m certain Haruka can elaborate being a Medical Nin herself.” Going over all of his answers mentally, Natsu realized he had left one unanswered.

“As for Cereza’s final question, it is a very legitimate concern. After all, if we would be sending exchange students I would want certainty no harm would come to them due to rebellious Village Members. A check-up every X months would certainly be a plausible agreement as well as consistent contact via telegram, perhaps? As for Cloud and it's citizens, I think it is fair to say most every of us are very loyal to our Raikage. Many of the preceding ones have gained a near godlike reputation due to their various achievements."

"While Hayata Shin is no reincarnation of Raiden, he is a very loved and respected Raikage nonetheless. We have enjoyed a long period of peace under his reign, as he is a very calm and warmhearted person very much favoring treaties and diplomacy over war. In fact, he had planned for a Kage Summit and requested me to make certain the Mizukage had received his telegram regarding this. While he is not present, perhaps one of you Sennin know about this too?”
He concluded, taking yet another sip and awaiting their response or Haruka's clarification of the Medical System.

Submara Biblioteko ->To learn, you must..
[fontsize="11"]Enduring the seemingly unending glide downstairs, Natsu impatiently wobbled on the balls of his feet. It had been rather hard to gain access to the elevator. After all, even with all the permission he possessed to enter the Library, the Kumo-Nin lacked the Chakra Mark Mist was so fond of. Thus, after a lot of arguing and reasoning and checking with superiors, he'd convinced a member of the Library Staff to accompany him into the elevator. And if the grumpy man's presence wasn't enough to punish him, then surely the neverending elevator music would do the trick.

At the same time however, he was excited to come here. The language had been something which very much intrigued Natsu. He was considered a linguistic scholar, mostly by himself but whatever, back in Kumo. Speaking the Common tongue, both Vulgar and Classic Ancient Kumo and Hangul had often been an incredible edge in political debates. Being able to add Mizugo to that list soon would be wonderful. Besides, he had found a very well-kept secret back in Kumogakure. One of its previous inhabitants had made it his life's work to collect as much literature concerning the Shinobi Arts as possible. Both recent and some on the brink of crumbling to dust.

Not only did it provide detailed descriptions of Jutsu, both common and forbidden ones, but also of ancient bloodlines, powerful Shinobi revered as Gods in their time and the mythical Kinjutsu. While not all the work was accurate or up to date, they were a fantastic read. The only issue had been that not everything was in languages he spoke. Some of the scrolls had been completely incomprehensible to the Spymaster who so prided him on his knowledge of languages. Perhaps Mizugo would be one of them? Considering the Village only existed since recently, the language likely wouldn't be much older, but he had noticed the Kirigakurian symbol on a few of them. Perhaps it was the language of the Country and not the Village though.. Mist and Water, it was all too similar anyway!

With a ping, the elevator finally announced his arrival at the right floor. Nodding his thanks to the grumpy worker, he quickly took off in search of Rozan. At least, that was the plan. The massive amount of books easily distracted him. They were compilations of secrets and if he had been able, Natsu would've read each one of them. It was only with the greatest effort that he managed to make his way to Rozan in a somewhat straight line.. Okay, it wasn't a straight line, hush! At least he was there before he could be considered too late. That was one benefit of getting up early due to screaming infants in a house with two of them.

"Greetings, Rozan." Natsu spoke, announcing his presence to the man. "How are you?" He asked, making the obligatory small talk. Quickly however, the Chunin noticed the three books, his interest immediately flaring up once more. "I have to admit, I am quite eager to begin. But I shall await your instructions." He nodded with a smile. The Spymaster still had his doubts about the Setsumon couple, but the urge to learn Mizugo far outweighed his desire to find out the truth about them. Perhaps after he could speak more than the handful of words he'd picked up after the conversation between Rozan and the Medical Sennin at the docks? The talk would happen one way or another though. He had to know the truth. Such was his job.

Silver Tower -> Kage Office -> Another Meeting!
[fontsize="11"]This.. This surely can't be real. What the hell is going on here?! Natsu thought. This meeting was quickly making him feel very surprised.. And furious. Surely Mist had not elected this bumbling fool as Mizukage? Even if Yojimbo hadn't been a political genius by all reports, this man was a horrendous failure. Hoshikata likely would have a fit if he saw how badly his Village was represented, especially when he hadn't been around.. The Golden Man wasn't around. Where was he? Surely the advisor would have made it a point to attend the meeting after their conversation?

Either Mist's governing body was a joke and had chosen to most clumsy fool ever to represent their Village or they were clearly not interested in a treaty with Cloud. The latter seemed like a likely option, considering just how much of a farce of a meeting this was turning out to be. Even so, there were easier ways to decline the terms proposed. And the Spymaster had managed to convince two out of three Sennin. Surely they held at least some weight, even if Hoshikata had insinuated otherwise. Contemplating the arguments, Natsu figured it was safe to rule out the latter option.

Which left him with.. Mist being terrible in choosing its leaders. Natsu knew nothing of the First Mizukage. He had not been promoted to Spymaster during his reign yet and thus knew close to zero about him. Hoshikata he knew to have been the Second, and after their conversation he was certain that at least the Golden Man was capable of the hard political games. Yojimbo.. Well, the man had stepped up and inspired enough people to be elevated to Mizukage, but the political field he had clearly disdained. The Third hadn't even involved his Sennin or advisors on certain very important matters it appeared..

If only Hoshikata was present. Natsu thought as the bumbling fool messing with the shades. Truthfully, he was surprised at his own tought. The Golden Man had been a nice conversational partner, certainly. Their political games had pushed him to the edge, something the Spymaster greatly enjoyed. The Isaki also would likely be quite receptive to the proposal, what with his cousin in Kumo. But he'd no doubt drive a hard bargain. Noticing the repositioning, Natsu found himself confused once more. This was almost the exact same move the Spymaster had employed to work around the sunlight. Was the Kage a quick learner then? Or.. was he someone else?

Natsu found it curious. A man with such obvious displays of weaknesses, yet they all were redirected to physiological warfare. Lowering his guard with the signs of nervousness; Knocking over a chair due to clumsiness only to reposition it much more advantageously; Fixing the shades only after Natsu had taken his seat which would make it harder to reposition himself without suspicion; The clear pauses making him appear less eloquent yet at the same time forcing longer periods of concentration and giving himself more time to think. He had met but one man so skillful in the art, and heard of no others from his birds.

Hoshikata definitely would employ a trick like this. The faux appearance would give him an edge. It'd drive Natsu to confusion or even anger and allowed him to get away with certain slip ups. After all, it would not be Hoshikata who had made the error. It'd have been the stumbling fool of a Mizukage. But how could Natsu be certain? How could he unravel the trick without causing any offense? If it truly was Hoshikata, this was one of the most clever tactics Natsu had ever encountered. If he wasn't.. Then it'd be a long day.

"Do Natsu, Jonin of Kumogakure. A pleasure to meet you Mizukage." The Spymaster replied, his voice friendly. Having sorted it out like this, and mentally sticking to the theory that it indeed was Hoshikata, he found it a lot easier to let go of his initial displeasure. "I trust you had a pleasant day?" It could be fun to dress up like that. Natsu didn't know, but he would consider employing the strategy sometime himself as well. "Are we complete and ready to begin the negotiations? Or are we still awaiting any Sennin or advisors?" Natsu requested, paying close attention to the responses.

Torre Celeste -> The Legation -> Damned pesky otouto!
[fontsize="11"]Nodding along to Masao's reaction, Natsu contemplated on the Kagetsu Treaty. It had been the only true precedent of the feat he'd accomplished that Natsu knew of in recent times. There certainly had been other attempts. And perhaps in elder times, similar treaties had been established. The final document had been signed by several high-ranking nobles, many still lurking about on the political field even now. Yet somehow it's rules had been slowly been forgotten or ignored. And if the Spymaster's reports were any indication, the bubble could very well burst soon. With some very nasty consequences.

"I understand. Honestly, at the rate Kirigakure chews through its Kages, I'm surprised the treaty hasn't been undone already. I'll make arrangements to record the Mizugo language and the learning procedures however. While I'd personally prefer to keep the intel on a need-to-know basis, we wouldn't want to make it too obvious we're breaking the terms, you are more than right in regards to remaining in the stronger position. As for the Summit, I do not view it as a test of friendship. I see it as a test of strength. It'll reveal much on how each of the Villages fares. I'd like to personally attend it, if at all possible."

"Do not fear though. I have not forgotten about my Shinobi training. A diplomat I may have become, but the deadly Shadow Game is as familiar to me as the Political Dance. And I remain in loyal service to my Raikage, of course."
Natsu concluded, taking another sip of water. The final part of Masao's speech however took him by surprise. "I hope I'll be by your side that day. I do not wish to become Sennin quite that eagerly. You will live to be your young, hyperactive self for another hundred years, if I'd have any say in it." Natsu paused for a moment, unsure of what to say otherwise. "I.. Thank you though. For the promotion and your faith in me. I will see to it that I do not disappoint you, Aniki." And with that, the Donut would slump his way home and take a long rest.

Oh Spymaster Donut, how remarkable to fuel the donut economy in our Village and attract tourists from all over the world to Lightning Country by yourself! Oh Spymaster Donut, incredible work on the treaty you scored us! Pfah! And what did all work get me?! Not a spot at the negotiation table of the Raikage, that's what!

The Jonin was admittedly a bit disgruntled as being cast aside like that. Of course he understood. Raikage Shin was a busy man. He couldn't be expected to deal with everyone and take every little detail into account. Nor the could leader of a military village be expected to listen to twelve different advisors on how to deal with a single man. But surely three wouldn't have been too much trouble, would it? A little nagging voice demanded. Natsu simply sighed, reading over Kushin's telegram once more. The Spymaster knew the contents by heart now, yet it was about the only thing he could do while he waited.

Movement inside the corridor stirred Natsu from the letter and he could see the trio move towards the conference room. Quickly moving to his feet, the Jonin hoped to intercept them and give Shin at least the message before the Raikage would face Hoshikata. A simple cough and sharp look from the man's secretary was enough to halt him though. "Oh come on Hitomi! You know I will be useful in these negotiations!" The woman said nothing, only intensifying her deathstare. Natsu sighed, realizing the woman cared for nothing but absolute orders. A sentiment he usually shared, but the Spymaster feared his ex-Mistian counterpart too much to care at the moment. Shin might have had two of the most powerful fighters of Kumogakure with him, but Hoshikata's strength lay more so in his words.

"At least get this note to Shin-Sama then! I understand you don't want a Jonin bothering him, but surely the words of a Sennin should be enough to sway you!" Another silent soul-rending stare was the only answer, before she finally held out her hand. Muttering under his breath, the Spymaster handed over the note to the secretary. Maybe if she'd alert Shin of its contents the man would call in Natsu. After all, with Kushin being rendered useless in yet another way, no offense, Natsu was the closest thing to an expert they had.. Besides the Sennin's wife perhaps, but the conference room was no place for the woman. No, it'd have to be him!

[fontsize="11"]"Well, can I? Can I? Can I? Can I? Ca-.." Natsu asked incessantly, hoping to coax a reply from the stern secretary. The woman was a wonderful example of diligence however, working out all of her tasks in the instructed order. As Shin's words had come crackling over the headset, Hitomi had taken out the schedule, looking for an available date Shin would have free to inform Isaki Karei about her family. After all, a man as busy as Shin with leading the Village, approving high-rank Missions and exams and taking people out for steak and lobster needed a tight schedule to keep everything running swimmingly. The secretary hadn't spared Natsu even a look, let alone a word.

Tucking the agenda away, the finally looked at Natsu and spoke up. "Very well, but if you go, best make yourself useful. Wait here, I shall fetch the tea." Of course she would. After all, what was Raikage Shin without his infamous tea? Such a dutiful secretary. Perhaps Natsu would have to look into getting himself a similar model, only switch the tea module for a donut one. As Hitomi made her way to wherever Shin's magical tea came from however, Natsu quickly made his way to the room. The Jonin would not risk angering the secretary by entering regardless of her instructions, but surely some eavesdropping would be useful.

The Spymaster made it just in time to hear Masao's questions. Clearly he had missed quite a bit of the conversation, something he silently scolded Hitomi for, but deduction was a skill he was well versed in. Clearly the conversation was handling the topic of Hoshikata's Village. The man had made mention of it at the Gates, and some further digging on Natsu's part had revealed it to lean towards the Moon country. There had been talk of Bear, but that idea was quickly dismissed. Moon was the only viable alternative left, honestly.

Paperwork regarding what? Natsu pondered, hearing the ex-Kiri mention the request. Seeing as Shin quickly responded to it by requesting copies of the documents, it was assumable the Raikage had requested the paper trail. Odd, but inconsequential. Hoshikata's next answer revealed a political misstep on the part of one of the three Kumo-Nin. Clearly the answer had already been stated. A simple mistake, but one which could be turned into an advantage easily. Next was a voice Natsu had not heard before. At least, not one he could identify. Brash statements bordering insult towards Kirigakure made Natsu groan however, and the introduction just so.

Revealing his ANBU Rank, the Vice Commander had given away a trump card from Natsu's perspective. For all Hoshikata could've known, it was just a faceless ANBU who was a close informant and bodyguard of the Raikage. Now it was known he held near full control over the ANBU Branch and its secrets. Even if the mask muffled his voice, there weren't too many people who would fit the same profile as the Vice Commander, certainly not with such an elaborate mask design. Then came the assumptions. Logical ones to make, no doubt. But it was always a risk to reveal what you thought about a situation so brazenly.

Hoshikata deftly handled the thoughts spoken out loud, making the difference in political experience painfully clear to Natsu. Perhaps he'd have to organize a class for the higher ranked Shinobi of Kumo on how to handle negotiations and politics. Just then, Hitomi finally tapped him on the shoulder. Presenting him a tray with four cups and three different teapots. With a sharp nod she motioned him to enter. As if it had been his fault he'd been delayed so much! Opening the door, he strode in at the end of Hoshikata's speech. "Terribly sorry for the delay. Various matters pressed for attention. However, should any of you wish, I have brought tea along."

Natsu was thankful he had been able to enter at this point. The questions Hoshikata had asked were very heavily loaded, and if any of the three Kumo-Nin had brazenly spoken without thinking, it could have been another sign of weakness. The Spymaster's interruption would give them the chance to mull over how to respond, or possibly avoid the questions entirely without requiring an excuse for it. Simply reaching for a cup of tea would be sufficient. Natsu himself used the opportunity to scan the room for any signs he might've missed. The scarf was a clever jab from Hoshikata. The Jonin was once more reminded this conversation would require the utmost concentration, even from him.

The sound rang through the office, sounding awfully loud in Natsu's ears. Yet it barely registered in the Spymaster's mind as he played with the ballpoint pen. A bomb could've detonated in the nearby building and Natsu wouldn't have noticed. Okay, maybe that was an overstatement. But the fact remained that his current thoughts occupied most all of his concentration. Normally the Spymaster still would be able to function relatively well when he was focusing on a certain matter. But then again, this matter had a known history of messing up his capabilities of even the most basic tasks.

- Click Click -

What is Aniki doing at Haruka's house? Why is he at her house anyway? Would he go there often since she returned? - Why do you care? - Why wouldn't I care? - Do you care? - Of course I care! - About what do you care? - Lots of things! Kumogakure, the Main Branch, donuts, detailed mission reports,.. - Silence fool! Do you care about Masao? Do you care about Haruka? Do you care about their relationship? - I.. Yes! - Great answer. No wonder you made it to Spymaster. - Stop sounding so sarcastic. - Stop sounding so pathetic! Get off your ass and show Masuka what you're made of! - Masuka?! What, are you shipping them now? Aren't you supposed to be on my side? - Do you even know what side that would be exactly?

- Click Click -

Slamming his hand on the desk, inadvertently smashing the pen without even noticing, Natsu stood upright. "Yes! And I'll go show 'em! I'll walk straight in there and say everything that's on my mind! Donut shall be victorious!" The Jonin near-shouted, startling the secretary who just walked by so much she dropped her folders. Noticing this Natsu blushed furiously, quickly sinking back into the chair to hide himself from sight. Seeing the secretary however, brought a frightening realization to mind. Imouto-Chan.. I totally lied to her. She'll never forgive me! What do I doooooooo!? The Spymaster panicked.

"Arrange for our Master of Couriers to intercept Nyaruko. Rank A importance, she is to return to the office until I can explain everything to her." Natsu urgently told the very same secretary he'd scared not even two minutes ago. The Spymaster very much dreaded the explanation but simply letting the girl walk into the building and realizing it had been a set-up would only cause a major heartbreak. No, Natsu needed to prevent that and the only one capable of intercepting the Eldritch Horror by now would the legendary Master of Couriers. In the meanwhile, he would go set things right at the Shima Manor and then go beg for Nyaruko's forgiveness. Or atleast hope she wouldn't bite his head off.

And so, Natsu rushed out into the streets, hopping on the nearest bike he could find and sprinted off. After all, that was how every hero in an Anime dramatically made it just in time to tell the girl of his life how he felt. Truthfully, the Shinobi had barely any experience with the vehicle and likely would make much better time on foot but that logical thinking was being obstructed by his jumbled thoughts concerning his Aniki and Haruka. With a loud screech, he came to a sliding halt in front of the manor, dropping the bike and rushing straight to the door. The guards were too astounded to even bother stopping him, most recognizing their secondary employer anyway. Banging heavily on the door, Natsu shouted. "Haruka! I need to tell you something! Haruka! Harukaaaaaaaaa!"

[fontsize="11"]Comparing his pile with Haruka's, Natsu found it hard not to smirk. The Doctor hadn't done badly, but not quite as good as he had. Perhaps it was the fact that the Spymaster had focused more on physical training than mental over the course of his Shinobi career. Perhaps his bloodline aided him in adapting to the new form more easily than Haruka could. Regardless the reason, Natsu felt quite confident in the body of the cat. While he'd much prefer to return to his original one he at least didn't have any of the annoying tendencies most cats had. Like kneading or spraying. Or Raiden forbid, hairballs.

"Final challenge? You promise?" Natsu asked skeptically. "We beat Taiga, we get turned back into humans, correct?" The King answered vaguely positive, too distracted by his pawlicking. Looking at Haruka for a moment, Natsu sighed and made his way back to where they had spend the last night. A sizeable distance apart, of course. Natsu had been a slight bit too wary of the scary Med-Nin turned cat to try sleeping closer. For all he knew, she'd be plotting to bury him under a pile of books by the following morning.

Finally reaching the destination, Natsu lay down on a pillow and looked up at Haruka. "Well then, final challenge. I want to get out of this damn forme as much as you, so if you have any plans or tactics, I'll gladly hear them." The Spymaster offered as polite as he could. Truthfully, he just wanted to get this over and done with. As a trained Shinobi, the cat wouldn't pose too much of a danger, surely. Yes, Natsu was stuck in an unfamiliar body and did not have access to any of his Jutsu or weapons. But combat was combat. Hit them hard and often enough and anything would crack down. If Haruka would have any theories on how or where to hit hardest, that would only be a benefit.

[fontsize="11"]The meeting was over, as Natsu arrived. Or perhaps it was simply his arrival which made the Seer back down. Regardless, Natsu's work wasn't over just yet. Watching Hoshikata depart, the twirling robes shrouding the man as he shrouded his intentions, Natsu let out a soft sigh. He found it a shame not being able to talk more with the man. Their conversation back in Mist had been most.. interesting. Yet it was likely for the best it didn't take place now. And surely the Spymaster would be able to arrange a meeting with the Golden Man before he'd depart.

Turning his attention to Shin, the Jonin smiled warmly. "Such praise. I only did as requested, Raikage-Sama. I experienced Mist's culture, negotiated with it's leadership, learned the Mizugo tongue and planted some seeds. The result you know: A signed treaty by both parties and an ally in the Village hidden in the Mist. If you wish a detailled recounting of my.. escapades, I will make certain the mission reports make it to your desk. I would not wish to bore you with a pages long monologue." Natsu responded, before moving on to the ANBU Sennin's question and Masao's words.

"Hoshikata's intentions are unfortunately a mystery, even to me. I'd give much to have an agent in that man's mind.. Though even if it was possible I'd fear for the spy's sanity. Honestly, it's impossible to say what his end goals are. For now however, I see no reason to fear him. Kumogakure's might outsizes that of the Isaki and Shoukyou clan, taking into account any forces already present in Moon. I think Hoshikata for now simply wants the world to.. trust him. Or at least view him as a neutral piece they can sway to their own control."

"Of course, neither of those would be a wise thing to do. As Masao-Sempai said, Isaki Hoshikata is not a man to be trusted. And thinking one can control him is folly likewise. However, that seems like the most fitting purpose of offering Moon as the neutral ground for the Kage Summit. I refuse to believe he'd play a trick on all of the Villages at once. It'd risk triggering a response from all of the Villages combined and he'd endanger not only himself but his entire clan that way. While he may not be above sacrificing a few pawns to strike down the king, his clan seems very valuable to him."

"The Summit would allow him a chance to get in a few well-placed words in the ears of very powerful men and women however. And the man is gifted enough to convince most anyone of his worth. I think, at least for now, he'll want to strike deals to ensure protection for him and his clan. Ambitious he may be, he knows the burden of leadership and I doubt he'd want to take over the world like some petty manga villain. Money and unseen.. Nay, unnoticed power is what drives a businessman like Hoshikata I reckon.. I'm sorry, I just blabbered on."
Natsu said, realizing with a start just how much he'd been talking.

"To get to the point: I already have agents mingling with the main body of the Shoukyou and Tatsuya clans, and already had a few nestled well into Moon's territory. Infiltration should not be an issue. As for allowing the Summit to take place at Moon.. I'd say it'd be a good choice. While Hoshikata may gain some benefits from it, none of them should be harmful to Kumogakure. And we will be able to strike our own deals. Neutral ground would be easier to convince the other Villages to attend as well, I imagine. However, that decision I of course leave up to you, Raikage-Sama." With that, Natsu finally quieted down, having said his piece.
