Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

[fontsize="11"]It'd happen any moment now. His head would be sliced clean off, separated by the blade he had just returned to the woman. Ever since he had come up with the method for the Kage to identify herself Natsu had wondered if it crossed any boundaries. It was the only thing he presumed conclusive evidence however. After all, the only witnesses had been her Sennin and the Bear soldiers. Based on the scarlet flush adorning her face at the moment, it was unlikely those last would run their mouths. Crossing such a scary lady was foolishness, as they no doubt knew. And if it was in fact her Sennin posing as her.. Well, he wouldn't mind bartering with that man either.

So, would his head be parted from his body, as the woman scorned him for such an outrageous request or would he live? As she sighed, and reached out, Natsu had to resist grabbing for his weapons first. After all, she wasn't reaching for the blade so it needn't be a hostile gesture. A sudden squeeze at his chest made him yelp in surprise however, as he stared wide-eyed at the woman, at her hand on his chest and back to her. "Satisfied?" Natsu was at a loss for words for a moment, before quickly explaining. "Words would have sufficed, Nanasaki-Sama. However, the result is the same. Please, enter Kumogakure so we can talk actual business. I have no doubt the Raikage and our Ambassador Tanaka will join us."

Just as he was about to contact Zaku via the intercom, the Gates crept open already. Did they hear us somehow? I came down here just because of the.. peculiar nature of the identification process and it remaining a secret. Regardless, a green-haired figure came out andd walked straight past, face emotionless yet smehow radiating a lust for blood. Even despite not having met the man in person, the Green Boogeyman was a hushed whisper around Kumogakure. "Kushin-Sama. Where are you going?" He asked, respectfully considering the man's rank. Technically they held the same equivalent of position, yet it didn't feel like that.

"I'm going for a walk." The man responded dryly, causing Natsu to raise an eyebrow. There was plenty of road inside of the city walls to provide for him. The Sennin was clearly up to something. And Natsu didn't like that one bit. After all, unless the Raikage had issued a secret mission, the man had not much business outside at all. Natsu could know, he approval-stamped most of the missions as acting Sennin. Even as Spymaster he did. "Try not to be gone too long, if you would. After all, I'm certain a man of your expertise will want to join in on the discussion of how the Hoshikage", Natsu indicated the woman, "can cooperate in the hunt for Yukimura Enishi and co." And possibly try to coax a helping hand in Bear court for Masao and Kitsune from the woman as part of the deal.

Issue is clear, had the timezone set incorrectly for some reason. Apology for the confusion!

Note: I'll edit this post to include the training for this week during the correct time interval.

Edit: I decided to make a new post entirely to make sure the Training would be noticed, so feel free to disregard this post furthermore.

Dragon Tooth Pass-> The Hoshikage Arrives!
[fontsize="11"]Things happened quickly. Too quickly for Natsu's liking, as he almost was at a loss what to reply to, and in which order. It wasn't like had frozen up or spaced out during the whole display of the Medical Sennin or Hikari's smooth intervention, more like he had tried to contain himself. Speaking the wrong word or making the wrong decision could all too quickly lead to an international disaster. Replaying the events in his mind, he quickly made some short resolutions on how to handle them. After all, a Sennin couldn't linger too long without a sense of direction, Even if he was just an acting one.

Kushin's inquiry of the whereabouts. That was first on the chronological list. Natsu hadn't been able to prevent himself from frowning. Had the man no television? Or an assistant who would do it for him and debrief him on the latest changes? Regardless, Zaku stepped in at this point to inform the Sennin.

Not only did he do that, the Captain also informed everyone within hearing distance of the rulings regarding visitors. Natsu considered it for a moment, before nodding approvingly. It was a brisk reminder to everyone with similar sentiments like the Sennin that there was such a thing as the law. And not even a Kage should position herself above it. It proved to even be a good political move, as the Hoshikage herself commended the young man.

What happened next was the big worry Natsu had about all of this. Barely veiled threats as sharp as the blade in her hand were made by both the Hoshikage and their own Medical Sennin. That Ai spoke so bluntly despite being on the doorstep of the threatened Village showed her guts and probably concern for her own men. Something the Spymaster could understand. After all, the main reason he had come to hopefully let her enter the Village was for Masao and Kitsune. Enishi came second, even if out of a professional point of view those priorities should be switched around. He seemingly still had that softer side. Though if he wanted to harden even that part of himself was the big question.

Regardless of that, Kushin's reply managed to anger Natsu. He wasn't often angry, and many people assumed he was about as sweet as the pastry he was named after. Yet this man.. He spoke bluntly about a conspiracy from the Star Shinobi, though even Academy Students would know why a Kage doesn't overthrow the leadership of their country. Claiming that Cloud's strongest Shinobi hadn't entered the stage yet seemed like a thinly hidden taunt towards the Main Branch. Natsu would let it slide. After all, he himself did not know the strength of every Shinobi in Cloud and couldn't make an unbiased conclusion about it. However, that last sentence..

"Your trust comes too easily!"<i></i> Natsu considered drilling some bone bullets into the man. To think that he'd be accused of such an elementary mistake! To think that after all the scheming with politicians and nobles the Spymaster had not learned the most basic rule! Trust had nothing to do with this. The only thing that counted here was the balance of advantages versus disadvantages. That was what had kept Natsu sane in all his dealings since being promoted. So now to be lectured by this foolish man who thought himself so very smart and invincible.. He'd show him. Even if he was not yet the man's equal, someday he'd make the man realize his mistake of underestimating Do fuckin' Natsu.

Moving away from such foul thoughts and language, Natsu focused on Hikari who swiftly tried to smooth over the rips and bumps in the shaky relations. And she managed so with surprising ease. Truly she had earned that rank of Ambassador. Masao certainly seemed to have an eye for talent, both Hiakri and Zaku proving to be valuable assets. Nodding as the redhead suggested to move inside, he finally spoke up again. "A very good idea. After you, ladies." He spoke, gesturing inside, as he followed them into Kumogakure. The Medical Sennin had stalked off and was no concern for the moment. Zaku would return to his duties, and Natsu would escort the two women along with a few appointed Shinobi. Off to see the Raikage. Natsu simply hoped the man was home and not off attending a tea-tasting event.

Bibliotheca Conscientiae -> Mastering Languages Long Forgotten
Hidden away in a damp, cold room of the library, Natsu sighed as he leaned back into his chair. He had been reading the same scroll for over an hour now. Or rather, staring at the words trying to register their meaning. It wasn't that he couldn't understand the letters and symbols, or that the wording was too complex. His attention simply was elsewhere. His Sennin in the Narakka mines, along with a Med-Nin and twice over ex-companion. The death of Haninozuka which could still quite well spark a war. If one believed everything would calm down with the trial, if it could be called that, they might want to rethink that. After all, there was no way some bold Cloud-Nin would resist the temptation to go play hero and save him. Which was all fine and dandy, and maybe he would've joined them.. If it weren't for the fact that he'd be too busy cleaning up the mess.

That was one of the main reasons he had accelerated his studies in Classic Kumogakurian. Ever since he had gotten the permission from Hayata Shin himself he had started, yet with his promotion and out-of-village missions, not much time had been free to study the old scrolls. Several months had passed now, and his comprehension had advanced quite a bit. He accredited the fact that the Vulgar was still so fresh in his mind for that. He couldn't imagine trying to make sense of this variant without having full mastery over its Vulgar nephew. However, with the aforementioned arrests and a painful lack of previous cases in the normal tongue, Natsu had resorted to consulting these older texts.

"Are you finished, Mister Do?" Came a snappy voice behind him. Biting his lips, it was all Natsu could do to prevent a loud groan from escaping his mouth. "I'm afraid I'll have need of the scroll for a bit longer, Karako-san. And please, I've been coming here for so long now, surely there's no need for the formality?" He asked, replying as calm and friendly as he could. The woman behind him was one of the main librarians, and a very strict one at that. She could spot the slightest crumble of food on your clothes from a mile away, and her hearing was sharper than that of a cat. Truly a menacing combination.

Natsu had once been her favorite pupil, back when he was young and had spent his time here studying the Vulgar variant. Back when Hameru Moki's cousin Takai had been instructing him. The woman had often helped him when he was bent over the scrolls by himself, trying to stay way past visiting hours. However, once he had graduated to Genin, his time in the grand Bibliotheca Conscientiae had steadily diminished. Out of the eye, out of the heart. Or so Natsu figured, as the woman had barely acknowledged him thus far. Was it because he had become a Shinobi and killed people, causing her to fear him? Because he had garnered enough attention from the Raikage to receive permission to study, causing her to feel jealous of him? Or was it simply because he had grown even more addicted to donuts, and she hated the snack?

The Chunin turned acting Sennin would likely never know. After all, even in this vast sea of knowledge with all its books and scrolls not a single one could explain the heart of a woman. And he certainly didn't have a clue to even begin with. Natsu had once heard a wise, albeit slightly drunk man, claim 'Here's all you have to know about men and women: women are crazy, men are stupid. And the main reason women are crazy is that men are stupid.'. And truth be told, when it came to women, regardless of how many languages he could speak or quotes he could recite, Natsu did feel very stupid. So it was likely a very true statement if completely off-topic. We're here to learn languages and quotes after all!

"Very well then, Natsu-san." Came the unexpected reply, followed by a tired sigh. It was clear that the woman was tired after a long day and perhaps more hidden issues. Normally he'd pry. After all, secrets were the most valuable coin a Spymaster could possess. Not now though. For whatever reason he didn't feel like it. "You have been sitting here awfully long though, and it seems you're not advancing at all.. What are you looking for anyway? Ever since around the time that trial started you've been coming here non-stop. Shouldn't you be helping out your fellow Shinobi?" Natsu smiled, though it wasn't a joyous one. It was true he should be more available to his subordinates. He was acting Sennin now after all. He'd have to return to the Torre soon. Back to mission reports and the likes which were even less likely to hold his attention.

"You're right Karako-san. When aren't you, huh? However, I need to figure this out. If I had just one previous trial I could base myself on, or an old agreement between the countries, or.." He trailed off, sinking his head in his hands to rub the sleepiness out of his eyes. Besides him, he could hear the librarian shuffling, and as he looked up he could see her walking off. Well, so much for help I guess.. The boy thought sadly, as he tried once more to focus on the scroll. It was a useless text really, detailing how a lord had bought himself free from various trials, only to end up without land and home, yet noble in name still. It was curious and interesting how the old justice system, perhaps current as well?, could work. Just as curious as pointless to his current situation. There was no way the Serene Kingdom would settle for a few million Yen. It had been their King after all.

Rolling the parchment back up so he could place it back into its case, the sound of rapid footsteps announced the return of Karako-san. Looking up, he could see her slightly out of breath and holding several more scrolls. Dumping them on the table, she smiled softly. "I know you're tired, but these may be more helpful to find whatever answer you're hoping to stumble upon. Come return them to my chambers when you're done. I'll take care of returning them to their cases. And then I know when I can get some sleep myself." And with that, she stuck out her tongue and made off before he could even thank her. He was too surprised to do so anyway, quite surprised by how uncharacteristically she was acting. Either this writer didn't try hard enough to write a rational character or the woman had remembered their good old times together.

Natsu didn't care about that, immediately opening the scrolls. Seeing Karako so pumped and excited, he himself felt quite a bit more motivated too. Skimming through the text, it seemed all of the material spoke about the same trial, written by various witnesses talking about the strange spectacle. The criminal, a Shinobi who had murdered several high-ranking officials, had been sentenced to death and executed to on the spot. However, this had happened six times over. None of the kills had been a clone, and each time there were several indicators that this was indeed the same man. From speech patterns, to memory and killing methods. He had looked slightly different each time, to be sure, but the fact that a man could survive his execution five times meant that it wasn't a coincidence.

"Ένα μυαλό, έξι όργανα." Natsu scribbled something down. "Τα μάτια της θείας αθανασίας." Another scrawl. "Το φασκόμηλο της εκδίκησης." The Chunin kept on noting, until he had written the keywords from each scroll with a seeming relevance down. And immediately dove back into the library. He had read about this, he could vaguely remember it. Back then, it had only been a word or two. He had still been studying the Vulgar variant but had been able to sneak a peek into a scroll with Classic Kumo. Now however, he'd be able to understand it all, surely. As he rushed down the aisles, flashing his id each time a librarian called out to him, he began rummaging through the collection.

" Natsu muttered as he read the text, growing more and more certain about the curious individuals' power. Gripping the scroll, he slunk down on a nearby chair, to carefully read it through. It'd likely not help Masao or Kitsune. After all, they were no Sages, surely? If that was the case, he was quite certain six Masaos would cause quite a ruckus. Too much of a ruckus perhaps. And he wouldn't need to shove so much administrative work to his Spymaster.

But this scroll held knowledge.. Powerful knowledge. It detailed not only the capabilities of the Sages, but how to gain their power. Power that was most very interesting. Power he wanted. It was curious to Natsu. Usually his thirst limited itself to knowledge. After all, such could grant him power beyond simply Jutsu or physical strength. But this.. Controlling multiple bodies, eyes that granted insight beyond even the Sharingan's capabilities.. Why was he not born with such eyes? Sure, he could pop out his skeleton if he felt like it, but that was nothing compared to this near divine power.. Natsu sighed, as he rolled the parchment back up. At least he knew now about the existence of the power, and could consult the Hospital about it. Surely there were individuals there who knew about the Rikudo Sennin, and perhaps the eyes.

As he placed the scroll back on the table however, it rolled off, an unseen bump preventing from laying still. As it fell down to the ground, Natsu managed to intercept it just before it crashed to the ground, upsetting all of the librarians. They were very touchy when it came to their scrolls. A paper slipped out however, surprising Natsu even more. How had it remained unnoticed all these years, as the age of the parchment indicated? Peeking at the contents, the Spymaster's eyes widened and a smile crept on his face. This.. This was perfect. Slipping it into his pocket, he made his way back to the table he had originally studied at. Returning the scrolls, saying his goodbyes and walking out with barely contained haste, he set out on a little adventure for Power. "Natsu από τις έξι διαδρομές.."

Torre Celeste -> The Raikage Office -> The Hoshikage Meets Shin!
[fontsize="11"]Natsu paid close attention to the conversation. It was a test of political prowess from both sides, and one he potentially could learn quite a bit from. Ai seemed to perform the best. She held on to her aggressive and confident nature Natsu. It was something the Spymaster had to give her kudos for. After all, she was here all alone as representative of her people in the middle of Kumogakure, facing who was possibly the most powerful man of not only the Village, but entire country. However, when taking political finesse into account, she seemed to outperform said man by quite a bit. It wasn't that Shin seemingly didn't know what to do, he was just so very.. blunt about it.

Pouring only himself a cup and letting her explain the entire ordeal while listening calmly gave off an air of arrogance. Almost as if to make it painfully obvious that he held all the power here, and she was but a beggar asking for favors. When the Raikage pointed out the lack of notification, Natsu shook his head silently. Clearly, the administrational office had messed up if the reports had not reaching Shin. Either that, or he was talking about another thing altogether. Regardless, revealing the lack of knowledge on not only that front but even the Kingslayers was either very dangerous or very brilliant. Natsu was inclined to go with the latter, for surely Shin had to have been briefed on the Kingslayers more than what Nanasaki Ai had just told him?

Hikari was her usual self, and much like the Hoshikage. Straightforward and uncaring of protocol. They were a curious bunch indeed. He rubbed his forehead, mulling over the entire situation. It was dangerous to just blabber on at this point. He'd had to carefully consider what he said and how he said it. Luckily, Hikari bought him some extra time as she offered to pour the tea for Ai. Finally she addressed him to clarify the situation, a chance he gladly took as he cleared his throat. "First of all, I have to agree with you, Nanasaki-Sama. Cooperation will be crucial to stopping these individuals. As for the Kingslayers.."

Natsu sighed, not really wanting to continue. Truth be told, even he knew painfully little about them. Most everything Kumogakure had learned about the individuals had come from skirmishes and information carelessly revealed by the Kingslayers themselves. No attempts at sneaking in an agent had seemingly succeeded so far. "The Kingslayers are a band of criminals. Seemingly their goal is to 'create a more equal world' where nobility does not rule over people like they do now. That seems to match their self-appointed name as well. To overthrow the current hierarchical structure where one person can live or die at the whims of another."

It was a foolish dream. If they got rid of the current system, law of the strongest would come into effect. And that would mean people could still die simply because another wished it so. And if they replaced the current leaders by themselves, they were no more than hypocrites and would quickly be overthrown themselves. Of course, that's just how Natsu perceived it. He couldn't even be sure that actually was their philosophy indeed. "So far, we have been able to determine a few members. We do not know if their exact numbers unfortunately. Yukimura Enishi indeed seems to function as their leader. He has committed several crimes, all too grave to let him run on the loose."

"Then there is Tanaki Daishi, the 'Light Sage'. He was involved in the assassination of Kagetsu Kiyo, and an accomplice of Enishi from the start it seems. Then we have, or rather had, Nakamura Yukiko. She was a missing Hoshigakure Kunoichi. She was killed in combat by one of our own however. Before she died, she revealed two names. One 'Marie', who we have managed to identify to be a sniper-user and a general pain in the arse. Furthermore a Haikuno. He used to be one of us but.. Regardless." Natsu shook his head, before continuing the speech

"Next up is Horiuchi Yuuya. A dangerous man, he was sentenced to death but managed to escape the gallows. Quite a resilient man, he wears even more durable armor and wields a massive spear. Shinya Mitsuru aka 'Red Death', an ex-PRMC SOCOM is another member. A deadly sword user and assassin. Both were there during the killing of King Haninozuka. Then there was another one we had no prior intel on, the card-user. His name appears to be Shourai as exclaimed by Horiuchi. Not much is known about him. Finally, there appears to be a cat-like woman to be in their ranks. Of her we know even less."

That was about it, as far as Natsu could remember so quickly. What the other three would decide based on that information though was another matter entirely. And so he'd once more wait on the sidelines and see how it'd go.

Torre Celeste -> The Raikage Office -> The Hoshikage Meets Shin!
[fontsize="11"][fontsize="11"]Ah, information. The one thing Natsu had come to known to prove more valuable than money. He had shared his own fair deal of information, and now the Hoshikage paid him back with equal coin. Nay, perhaps even more. After all, with her extensive knowledge it was unlikely he had told her much new. Perhaps the death of Nakamura Yukiko. The fact that she was willing to share so much fresh information proved her willingness for this cooperation to succeed quite clearly however. More so than pretty words and oaths. And the Spymaster would not let it go to waste. Even if his Raikage would be unwilling to form an alliance, Kumo would have more details regarding the Kingslayers.

Shin's words made Natsu frown. Consulting Makoro was something the Chunin wasn't very keen on doing. The man had shown his capabilities for lies and deceit. It would be hard to verify the truth in his words or the consequences of following his information. Even more so, smuggling in an infiltrator was folly to Natsu, even if Hikari seemed to agree on it. The redhead was doing her fair share of information dealing as well, on that note. The newly formed and secretive deep cover division was now a known fact to Nanasaki. She'd definitely be triple checking her new recruits if she was wise. Contemplating for a moment if it was wise to further discuss the division in front of the Hoshikage, Natsu figured the cat already was out of the bag and spoke up again.

"Our previous attempts at this have failed, and even so, planting a spy would take time. Considering their recent highly aggressive actions, I do not think we have the luxury of time much longer. Killing a noble or two is one thing, assassinating a King is quite another. It's clear they want a war. Neither of our countries want this. Adding someone to their ranks would only make it worse I'm afraid. I say we try and consult your source, Hayata-Sama, and then combine our resources with the Bear Country to rid us of those blasted Kingslayers." Masao would have agreed with him if he had been here, surely? Or would the bar-fighting Sennin have already chucked a toilet at the foreign woman by this time? And what would the Kages do?

[fontsize="11"]"No no no, mister Do! This simply will not do! I insist!" The blonde woman in front of Natsu cried out. "Surely you do not wish to imply my cookies are not tasty enough for you? Or is it perhaps that my looks are not up to par?" She asked, a concerned tone in her voice. The boy couldn't help but groan. Who does she think I am? A medical nin in training who hasn't seen a woman after a year of training? He cleared his throat, trying to explain the situation once more. "You are as beautiful as your cookies are delicious, Misora-sama. Of that I have no doubt. I am afraid I just simply have too much work left at the office. Surely you do not wish for me to be fired of my job?" He retorted, smiling kindly at her.

Truthfully, it took most of his patience to do so. He had come to seek out the slacking Genin who had been appointed his assistant but had refused to show up for the past two weeks. While he had already assigned another Genin to take over the task, of course, he still wanted to reprimand the previous brat. After all, if the kid thought he could escape from his duties by simply showing up, not even one of Masao's infamous brushings would be enough of a lesson. Of course, he had forgotten about the terrifying entity that was a mother. She had done everything in her power to dissuade him from seeing her 'precious little buttercup'. Cookies, milk, donuts, small talk, humiliating prom pictures,.. And to his shame, the Spymaster had given up.

It hadn't been really worth it anyway. Especially not after the old tart had started flirting with him. The occasional brush of her hand, bending over a second longer than needed. Most men might not have noticed it, but he was the friggin' Spymaster after all. No detail would escape him! Well.. That's how he had dreamed about doing this job anyway. Unfortunately, real life had quite the amount of surprises for him. From seemingly auto-refilling donut boxes to scary mothers. What a messed up world it was.

"By Raiden's hairy gonads, this is ridiculous." Natsu muttered as he hid behind a chimney. The Chunin had not wanted to resort to violence and thus had literally ran away from the door. It had been a curious sight, so thank Raiden for the late hour. It was way past office hours, Natsu wouldn't waste precious time he could spent filing and signing paperwork on a ridiculous errand like this!, and thus the street had been as good as empty. And considering this was the upper Seki District, home to the rich and famous, he was glad for that. After all, it'd make negotiations about funding money from the local snobs quite a bit more awkward. He could just imagine it already. "So, Do-San, a little birdy told me the most curious tale last night. Is this money required for a new running gym perhaps? Ohoho-"

The Spymasters imagined scenario disappeared from his mind as a sudden movement caught him by surprise. It's just a cat, you stupid man! He managed to tell himself, before he noticed his foot was no longer touching the roof. Having abruptly dodged backwards, Natsu had lost his balance and was now quickly sliding down towards the glass roof of the house's patio.

- !BAMF! -

The loud crash was heard all throughout the foreign house, making Natsu mutter something incomprehensible. Looking dazedly around, he was at an absolute loss which family's house he had just fallen into. Whichever the case, they were a curious bunch. Or maybe the Chunin had hit his head harder than he had thought as he looked straight at a.. llama? He rubbed his eyes and felt at the back of his head to make sure he wasn't hallucinating anything due to blood loss or such. What kind of madhouse had he gotten lost in? And what would the inhabitants make of his late night entry?

The Seki District -> Late Night Shenanigans
[fontsize="11"]This woman truly is terrifying. Natsu couldn't help but think. Of course, the fact that she was waving a sword in his face helped along, but it was something else. Perhaps the way her eyes drilled right into his, staring him down. He had heard most women could do this, but even so she had to be an expert at this nifty little trick. Regardless, it was enough to make even the concussion-ed Chunin shut his mouth and sit still. He briefly considered scratching his nose, but decided that he'd rather not risk another book to the face. She was way too adapt at using them as bludgeoning weapons.

Not even the sudden chilly touch of the woman was enough to provoke a squeal from him. The gentle pulse from the healing hand quickly distracted him from the cold anyway, his body quickly recovering under her guidance. "Your name's not really Donut, is it?" She questioned suddenly, making him frown for a moment. Granted, he had fallen into her house in the middle of the night, but that wasn't a reason to doubt his name, was it? After all, who hadn't heard of the oddly named boy turned Spymaster, if only to snigger at said name.

"My name is Do Natsu, though everyone has kept it to simply Donut.. For obvious reasons. I've gotten used to it however." His voice held some tinge of annoyance in it. Though whether that was due her refusal to believe him or because he actually disliked the nickname at times was anyone's guess. "I apologize sincerely for the interruption. I hope you can forgive the nonsense from earlier. As far as the damages are concerned.." He looked upwards towards the broken sun roof and back down at the glass shards spread just about everywhere.

"I'm sure the Torre will have a fund for it. If not, I'll just send some Genin over as cleaning or repair crew and call it a mission." He decided with a simple shrug. As the glow disappeared from her hand, he slowly raised his hands in a non-threatening gesture and got to his feet. He didn't feel as dizzy as before, though the headache persisted just slightly. His hair and face were smeared with blood, and there were several rips in his clothing. It'd be an expensive bill to get the suit fixed. That was the biggest disadvantage of the Main Branch's dress code. There were bigger concerns at the moment however.

"I know you said no questions, but if I am to arrange the reparations I will need to know your name, miss." Natsu said, hoping she wouldn't lunge at him with sword or book. However, he thought he remembered the girl. He had heard much of a certain rich, raven-haired beauty from the Chief Ambassador. Something about a Phantom at the Opera.. He'd been told about equally much not to even think about hitting on her. If this was indeed Shima Haruka, he at least could say she had done all the hitting so far. Though he couldn't imagine either girl seeing the humor in that. He'd keep his mouth shut for now and instead see what the woman in front of him would tell him. And hopefully survive through the night with that tactic.

Solum de Asphodelus -> Hurry, Hurry! The Boat Is About To Leave!
KittyNatsu.png

[fontsize="11"]Natsu perked his ears, something he actually could do now, as the large cat in front of him replied. Unfortunately, the feline revealed little information. ‘A feline haven’ had been clear from looking at their surroundings. And whether the creature was called Taiga, Simba or Snoop Lion, if he was simply a protector and not an actual ruler, he'd be pointless to bargain with. The Spymaster had plenty of experience when it came to dealings with nobles, lords and ladies, even chancellors and Khals. Yet not protectors, certainly not of the feline kind. Thus the Spymaster saw little else he could do but follow along to the feeding area.

"Will you go get the current King for me? I'll need to know who to surpass after all!" He inquired as they trotted over. He'd keep up the pretense of innocent kitten for now. That didn't mean he wouldn't try to reason with the guy in charge around here. And thus giving his current cover, this seemed about the best way to go about it. Taiga however seemed to ignore him once more, trotting off to scout the area. "Well.. I certainly did not expect this. I'm not dreaming, am I?" He questioned the Med-Nin turned cat. "Let's see if we can something out of these other cats, huh?"

With that, and after hearing the black kitten's response, he'd try and ask one of the many new.. friends? Truth be told, Natsu wasn't too familiar with the pets. He knew they were arrogant, sleeping more than half of the time and you could either adore them or not care about them in the slightest. There was a slightly insane cat-lady who worked at the Torre as a secretary. Seeing her, he figured it was probably for the best he belonged to the latter group. After this experience however, he might come to love the furry little creatures after all. Admittedly, they looked rather darn cute lying in the basket.

"mYow! Could you te-.." He started friendly and cheerily enough to a nearby kitty. "Excuse me! I was practicing here! Every truly cultured music student knows you must learn your scales and your arpeggios!" She said, clearly offended that she had been interrupted like that. Natsu didn't even get a chance to apologize before the turned around and started repeating 'Do mi do mi do so mi do' over and over. Slightly off-tune. The Chunin turned cat decided it was best to just leave and find another feline to talk to, yet every single one of them seemed so much more busy with their own selves.

After ten minutes of fruitless asking around, he sighed. How could he get all of their attention? Either caught up in themselves or their games, the most he had gotten out of any one of them was that he walked rather silly. Well, haters are always going to hate, but surely somehow there is a way.. Of course! If cats could grin, the Donut Kitten was doing it right now. Looking around for a while, he found one sure enough. The perfect object to get any cat's attention! Dashing off to Haruka, he'd ask for her help and explain his brilliant plan. Being turned into a kitty had seemingly sweetened her mood, for she agreed quite swiftly. And so the duo parted once more, each off to their own part;

Crawling on top of a slightly higher-placed rock, the Shinobi looked at the various cats in the area. A few of them had noticed, and some even kept watching for a moment to see what he'd be doing. Or maybe to steal the spot it'd prove to be a nice sleeping area. Instead, he shouted. "ROOAAAAR!" Yes, he shouted. He had hoped he secretly might've been turned into a lion cub, but alas, it seemed he was only a kitten. Thankfully, some more kittens turned to look at his odd behavior on top of the rock. Some were openly laughing with him even. Just wait! He had after all, given the secret sign to Haruka. And she stuck true to the plan, as a red dot suddenly sped over the area.

Moving past every cat on the plains, each and every single one of them followed it as if hypnotized. Thank god he had endured the crazy cat-lady and heard about the odd little game she played with her pets. And just like the woman had described, most of them quickly got on their feet to chase the little red thing. Natsu awaited his time, sticking true to the plan. As it hit the agreed spot, he lunged down from the rock. Pouncing on top of the red spot, he placed his paws on it. All of the other cats froze, intently staring down at where he had pinned the red devil to the ground. "I have caught the Red Lightning!" He exclaimed, raising his paw, the dot following so it remained in the middle of his paw, for all to see.

"Oi, Taiga-Sama! I did it." He announced proudly, as he had finally spotted the larger cat. Next to him walked Haruka and behind them, close to the entire swarm of kitties. "I became a King." He clarified, grinning fiercely. "So, surely you can get us to meet the other King now, right?" If they could get out of this kitten-land and meet with whoever was responsible for this place, perhaps the duo could figure how or why they had transformed into cats. And how to undo the process! Hopefully..

Main Islands -> Glass Tunnels -> Once
[fontsize="11"]Natsu tensed for a moment, as the woman in his arms did similar. Had he snuffed out whatever glimmer of friendship left between them? Had he crushed her spirit, to leave her become as bedridden as the victim had been? Had he instead ignited the slumbering rage hidden behind her mask? Or had he spoken the right words so they could bury the axe of war between them? He thought he could faintly hear her heartbeat, the echoes in the tunnel strengthening the sound. Or perhaps it was his own, pumping blood and warmth through his body, sharing the latter with Haruka. She seemed to be a block of ice in his arms.

As the Haku clenched his shirt, the Kaguya clenched his eyes shut, afraid of her reaction. He had stared down nobles and faced a multitude of foes in combat. Yet this battle of emotions seemed to have a bigger impact than those. Then the tears came rolling down her cheek, dripping into his shirt. Natsu resisted the urge to look down and see whether they were actual tears or little blocks of ice. She truly did feel frozen after all. And then the words flowed from her mouth. Hesitant at first, but their purpose was clear enough.

Natsu let out a little sigh of relief, patting the back of Haruka's head. "I have faced similar feelings. After all, if I speak wrong words I could ignite war. If I issue faulty orders, my subordinates could very well face death. Perfection is the goal of many, but hardly ever reached. Of course I will forgive you." The Spymaster spoke, remembering the words of his father. That man had failed in life and thus had tried his son, Natsu, to do perfectly. Not that the Chunin had cared back in the day. And nowadays he was mostly grateful for the education, despite its hardships. He wouldn't cry along with Haruka over their childhood though. He'd show her his strength today.

Taking his hand from Haruka's back slowly, Natsu reached for his back pocket. Taking out a handkerchief, a clean one mind you, he offered it to the raven-haired Med-Nin. Then, as if the action made him aware of it again, he suddenly felt doubtful about holding her still. The young adult had to admit it wasn't bad standing in a glass tunnel so intimately with someone. But if Haruka found it to be misleading when someone passed by, she'd likely turn back into her icy crow-form. A lady like her surely wouldn't be caught messing around with a clumsy fool like him, would she?
