Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Mission Howling for a conflict (A rank)

Unlike Seto, Rei could not keep her cool.

Her vines twisted and groped the tunnels beyond to give her a 3-dimensional blueprint of what waited in the darkness beyond. Almost an entirely moot point though, as a swarm of werewolves came bowling out of the entrance they stood near; yet her vines continued to reach out. More were inside, and there was another entrance. The movement of combat from her companions had already started, her sense of hearing picking up the sounds of battle that were right next to her like a distant echo. She could stretch more, the Sennin thought for but a moment when it hit her. The scent of blood. Coppery, sweet, and fresh. A cold claw dug into her skull to rip her senses out of the vines and back into her mortal form; the action completed with a convulsion and deep gasp.

Rei knelt over in the snow, her hands gripping at the ground while choking on the saliva that had been rapidly building. Her pupils shifted between normal and feral multiple times as she fought every instinct to tear through the closest body. The scientist could already imagine the flavor, the texture, and the warmth. With a guttural growl, her hand quickly reached into her pouch to fondle the silver case and push an emergency button with what little willpower remained. A cylinder ejected into Rei’s hand. The moment the cold stainless steel touched her hand, the arm jerked back up in an angle to stab the needle into her neck.

It was like getting injected with molten magma. For a moment the pain was so intense she was almost certain that the serum was being rejected; turning into acid in her veins. Rei could not scream. Then as suddenly as the pain had come on, it was released. Her body quaked on the ground like a newborn, pride being the only thing keeping her from collapsing right there. Her fingers twitched. Death had been spilled repeatedly, the negative energy permeating the air to a point that even the non-indoctrinated could sense it. Her bony fingers twitched again, and it all swept around her like a vacuum. Her flesh tone turned to death, her eye sunken and hallow. Slowly she raised to witness the protege planting explosives across the ground before turning to offer Rei two bombs; and 10 seconds.

This was combat. There was no time to stop and tend to her own ails. The battlefield was a living, breathing creature of chaos. Even now, Lycans to her side continued to spill out to the waiting destruction of the shinobi. Her mind was fried from the sensory overload, but instinct continued on just fine. Left hand raised suddenly to grow two vines before them with flower buds that opened up for the explosions to be set on. The buds closed before slithering back underground. The first dug itself deep into the main entrance’s stability point; the second rose back up and bloomed in the spot where she had sensed the most movement. Praying the Lycans didn’t take prisoners, Rei counted down somewhere in the back of her mind…

…3. 2. 1…

Yuna signaled for the group to follow as she led them deeper into the dark cavern. Seto and Sayomi remained behind, their attention shifting away from the tunnel’s mouth. Sayomi perched silently on a low branch, her gaze distant and unfocused, as though her mind were elsewhere—an indifference that stood in sharp contrast to Seto’s coiled readiness for battle.

Daigo caught sight of Seto’s swirling red eyes fixed on the cavern entrance, burning with intent, as if their gaze alone might summon the misfortune waiting within.

Yuna entered first, and Daigo followed close behind, the darkness swallowing them as the rest of the group fell in step. It wasn’t long before a distant thunder rolled through the cavern—the sound of many feet pounding stone in frantic unison.

Daigo took a step back. In the midst of the dim light, he could see his Sennin tense, slipping effortlessly into a combat stance, and with a brief motion of her hand, she signaled him back. The threat had arrived.

From the shadows emerged massive, fur-covered shapes, their hulking frames scraping against the cavern walls. Each beast carried crude weapons—clubs and blades that looked almost comically small in their enormous hands, yet were more than large enough to crush Daigo’s skull with a single careless swing. Curiosity warred with terror as he stared, mind racing to understand what he was seeing even as his instincts screamed at him to run.

Daigo knew better than to panic. Years of training at the academy steadied him, even as a thrill of excitement stirred in his chest—this was his first time witnessing such creatures in battle. His breathing slowed, his mind sharpening as instinct gave way to analysis.

The lycans were slow, but devastatingly powerful. Each heavy step drove them forward, their blows crashing down against Yuna’s metal armor with brutal force. At first, the plating held. Then—crack. In moments, a strike found its mark, tearing through a weak seam.

Daigo's breath exhaled with pause and bewilderment as blood spilled forth, gushing like a ruptured pipe. It splattered across stone and steel, streaking the walls and floor in wild, violent arcs—like the frantic brushstrokes of a mad painter’s canvas.

"Their attacks seem rather simplistic with very little coordination." Daigo thought to himself. Daigo glanced back at his sennin. She looked more pleased than distressed at her injury. She was able to return their assault with her own blood and the blood of the fallen lycan to her aide.

Two lycans charged toward him, and Daigo couldn’t help the flash of a grin. “Can’t we talk this through?” he called out. “We don’t have to kill each other, right?” His attempt at levity went unanswered. The creatures’ dark crimson eyes burned with life—but it was a life fueled by nothing but pure, unthinking rage.

One of the lycans swung its greatsword in a brutal arc, cleaving straight through Daigo’s small body. For an instant, it appeared as though he had been cut clean in two—blood spraying wildly across the stone. Or so the beast believed. The severed form sagged, then collapsed into mud, dissolving before the lycan’s eyes. The blood followed, blackening and igniting as it transformed into hungry flame. The fire lashed upward, licking across the creature’s fur and flesh. It howled as caustic flames consumed it, until nothing remained but a scorched, smoldering carcass.

The second lycan spun in confusion, searching for Daigo—but he was nowhere to be seen, hidden as if in plain sight. It wish it hadn't be this way. Daigo thought, holding his breath.

The Santaru girl as very much inside of her own head, even more so with the sounds of battle raging in the not-so distant distance. The more she could hear, the louder the battle grew within the mountains, the more she retreated into her own mind, holding the fox win her arms close and trying to not think of the world around her. She had retreated so much, the fact that the tall genin alighted upon the branch near her slipped through her notice entirely. She did not realize the fact that he was speaking to her, even, for if she could her and acknowledge hif voice, the sounds of the snarls of the werewolves, the clash of weapons and claws, the gnashing of teeth and fang, would most certainly follow right after.

She had been coerced to be here, in they physical sense, but mentally she could disassociate. It was better and safer, though in truth she wished to vanish entirely and fly back home. Still, she was there, rooted in place as the world continued to progress without her, as it had done for who knows how many years at this point. Indeed, she did not even realize that the man had created clones and one of them had been sent to a fishy summon. Yume had noticed though, her eyes sharp even as she squirmed and re-positioned her body to no longer be facing outward, but towards her master. A small paw tapped the girl's cheek, breaking the concentration of disassociation. "Lady Santaru....you're needed! It's an animal that needs healing!"

Sayomi's purple eyes grew in shock as she looked around and did a small hop from the branch to the ground, drifting slowly to the earth as the wind eased her descent. It was a simple task, but healing upon a branch was difficult for all parties. Thankfully, the summon was an animal for they were much easier to deal with for the young girl and it prompted a sense of urgency that made her want to help, but it did not stop a recoil at seeing the bloodied wounds upon the fish. A clone of Seto brought the creature before her and placed it on the ground. Finally, the grasp on the small fox was released and Yume jumped from her and, immediately, snow and ice circled around her, dancing in a beautiful scene as 6 tails grew into 9 and her size more than doubled, matured, and she was the picture of grace for all foxes. "We'll have to protect her while she heals and gather others who need healing too...she won't go any closer to the mountain than this," she stated very simply, straight forwardly.

Sayomi immediately began to string together hand signs and raised one towards the sky, as if crying out in prayer to a god and a barrier of golden light sprang forth, enveloping the area in Pristine Aura. Bright and golden as the rays of sun, any and all who stood in its presence would immediately feel the healing effects envelope them, warm them from the core. It was the young Santaru's declaration that this would serve as the healing center for the mission and also reaffirming Yume's statement that she would not leave this spot. Maintaining this powerful barrier of healing and protection would be nothing short of child's play for someone of her vast chakra pool which could match the oceans.

Tiny hands hovered the creature as both Sayomi and Swimm Shady started to glow, the healing beginning instantly. Perhaps not many healers would think of casting an A-Rank jutsu so soon after using the pristine aura barrier, but Sayomi rarely thought of the idea that her chakra could be depleted. All her medical theories had been crafted entirely with the concept that her chakra supply was without limit and now was as good a test as any.

Summary of Actions

- Yume transformed into attack form
- Cast AOE Jutsu "Pristine Aura" on nearby area currently affecting Swimm Shady, Seto, Yume and Sayomi

Yuna and Genshin would go to work, slicing through the Lycans that would come forth. As they would fight, it would seem that Daigo would join them, mainly acting as confusion for the Lycans as they would attack clones and the like. Along with that, explosions would ensue around the entrance of the mines, exactly where the many Lycans were at, blasting off legs here, arms there, some would even fall down and their heads would blow up.

In the confusion of all that is happening Yuna would see something fly towards the entrance of the cave that looked like... She would sigh underneath her mask. and grabbed Daigo, she could hear the blood flow of the real one and pull him close to her as she would form hand seals and a barrier would form around the two of them. Nature's Guard. Debris from the cave entrance would fall down and crash down on the barrier but it would still hold. More debris would fall around them and dust would settle. Yuna looked over to where Genshin was to see that he also had brought up a barrier to protect himself from the crashing debris as well. Daigo, however, would feel his clone get destroyed in the rubble.

After all the dust settled, all three would hear a low growl. It sounded louder than that of the normal Lycan. And then came the roar. Genshin would blast a hole through the debris and yell, "GO!" Yuna would haul Daigo with her back through the entrance and outside.

Just in time too. Something crashed into the debris as they would all hear the grunt of pain from Genshin and see him soon crash through the rocks. A nearly seven-foot-tall humanoid carrying a

giant war hammer came lumbering out as two creatures that everyone would see that resembled the mutated lycans that they have seen in the files in the mission briefing walk by the humanoid's side.

The giant would look at Rei and let out a grunt. Nobody but her would be able to hear actual words. "Sister.... Why you walk with them...? Give in to the Gift that was given to you..."

There were three normal Lycans that would survive the initial attack that Nozomi had released. They would go forth and target Yuna, Yume, and Genshin. Yuna would easily dodge out of the way and Yume would see the attack coming and be able to defend herself. As for Genshin. He was still recovering from the attack from the giant Lycan that he was smacked in his back by a shovel made as a weapon.

Rei would hear more whispers, supposedly from that of connecting to others with the Lycan Virus. But she has never felt this type of thing before. It felt like something was calling to her, from deeper inside the mines.
Fle34p8XEAAHl7U.jpg
"Come sister. Join us. All you have to do is accept the Gift..." The voice was enticing, seemed to call to her even. "You can be so much more than what you are now. All you have to do is accept it."

Nozomi would narrowly dodge out of the way as the two mutated Lycans would rush at her, snapping at the air merely inches away from her face. The giant Lycan would shoulder check Nozomi as the girl would fall into the snow. Perhaps it is because of the girl crying out in pain that had snapped Rei out of the trance that was being put on her as the whispering has slowly faded away from her.

Yuna would slash with her cape at speeds that would be unable to be traced by the untrained eye. Blood would erupt from the neck of the Lycan that had attacked her. As the dead body would hit the ground, blood would surge out and strike at all of the lycans, making them bleed instantly. She rushed forward to focus on the giant that had hit Nozomi. She was still bleeding so she would focus her own wound and imagine it on the hulking giant that was towering over Nozomi. Instantly, Blood would spray from the side of the monster as it would cry out in pain.

"Everyone! Protect Nozomi!" Yuna ordered. The monsters seemed to have sniffed out who was the weakest link. Or maybe they see her as a threat if they are able to think with enough sentience that Nozomi had single handedly wiped out most of the force that was at the entrance?

She had switched weapons to the weapon that she has more experience with, Crimson, and formed hand seals. crimson stars. Eight blood shuriken would come out of the Anbu Sennin's body and strike out at the nearest mutated Lycan that was close to Nozomi. More blood would come out of the creature as it staggered, fighting the power that was in the attack. Anyone would be able to see that the blood coming out of the creature now congealed, a symptom of being infected by the technique used.

Genshin would rush towards the giant Lycan and try to strike out at it only for it to knock his strike off to the side with its massive war hammer. So he changed tactics and launched an assault of attacks on the other mutated Lycan that hasn't been hit with a technique yet. Of the eight strikes that he has launched, only four have actually managed to pierce through the thick mat of fur of the creature. The revolutionist would twist his body around and focus his next attack back on the giant, aiming to pin it to his weapon but again, it would knock away the Uchiha's sword.

If Swimm Shady could smile, he would. "Thanks Girlie, next time they won't beat me." Still finding ways to rhyme in times like this as chakra surrounded the fish before he let out a tempest. But this was stronger than any usual C rank jutsu as it seemed to have been amped up. Along with that, Everyone would soon realize that the winds turned into water currents, a power that only fish contracts are able to do as the attack swallowed up the two mutated Lycans. After it winded down, only one of the mutated Lycans was uplifted into the air before it slammed back down with a growl. Both were now completely wet and the one that wasn't lifted up in the air looks miserable in terms of had more of a dog shower than the other one.

But even with all that's going on, there were sounds of scuttling as more feet and claws hitting the ground would sound from deeper in the mines. But it would seem that for right now, they have time to deal with the ones that are on the outside with no real worries as there would be more crashing sounds, presumably more and more of the mines would crash down on itself and more smoke and dust would escape out of the now destroyed entrance.

Nozomi. I wasn't going to do all those rolls for all the lycans. So I did a percentage roll. Girl over here carrying. Along with that, I will do the rolls for your oxidation outbreak after next round of posts unless you dispel the jutsu
Due to Yuna's passive as a Chigokai, any Lycan she kills will automatically do some damage and make all hostile enemies in the area have their bleed rank go up
Rei, as I understand, you do have the Lycan Virus from your own arcs. Only you are able to hear these voices that are coming from both the giant Lycan and the voice from the mines. But also feel free to connect this to your own story arc of finding the cure to the virus.
there are 2 normal Lycans (both of which are at r1 bleed), one of which is on deaths door (has base defense of 8 if you roll higher than that, you hit. No accuracy modifiers)
2 mutated Lycans (shaggy pic), the first dealing with r2 bleed and -1 acc, -2 dodge, second r1 bleed (base defense 10, acc mod +2) Lycan 1 looks like a few good more hits would do it in. Second mutated still has more fight in it
1 giant Lycan r2 bleed. (base defense 13, acc mod +4) Generally alright with the exception of the two bleed wounds that it has.
unknown amount of more Lycans but are heavily delayed due to devastating damage done to the mines.

The world narrowed into a tunnel as he heard the roaring chaos of the battle, the pained cry of Nozomi, the snarls and growls from the Lycans, the captain's orders, the thunderous clash of the cave in, it all fed his tunnel, hyper focused perception, and yet, all of it, receded into nothing more then muted backdrop for what was occuring directly ahead of him. His entire being was consumed by the cold, calculating clarity that rested in his eyes, his sharingan continually spinning with a silent storm from within the confines of his ANBU mask. His deductions from the battle that laid out before him was brutal and instantaneous, the giant lycan was the lynchpin, the commander so to say. Disabling them, eliminating from the battle would fracture the pack's coordination, and quickly after, bring down moral...but there was a problem. Nozomi was wounded and exposed, a critical vulnerability the beasts were already exploiting. This was unacceptable, his warrior blood finally surfaced to the top, the conflict between his pragmatism and his code of Bushido over, the warrior within himself unable to be ignored any longer, not when a comrade's life was in danger.

His left hand clone, the one who was already guarding one of the sennin, and the others at the front, bolted in a streak of blue white lightning, arriving at Nozomi's side within seconds, before it's carefully energy modulated arms, scooped the girl up with what gentleness he could muster in the moment, before it pivoted on one hell, kicking up a ounces of snow as it became something akin to living lightning once more, a zip zagging bolting retreating through the chaos before it arrived at Sayomi's position, depositing the wounded kunoichi at the princess feat. Simultaneously, at the same time, his other clone, which had taken a defense stance in-between the two parties, fell back to their dedicated, creating a barrier between the Santaru heiress and future chaos that dared to attack, whether it be a potential flanking attack, or from the remaining lycans at the front. Their purpose was singular, buy time for Sayomi to do her magic.

While all this occurred, in the same span of time, his true self moved, running on nothing more then instinct. Seeing a opening, a split second, he allowed himself to became a weapon unleashed. Pushing himself from his position, not with a leap, but with a explosive, sonic like boom that tore through the ground where he had been standing before, the air itself ripped as he accelerated, his dark blue armor coming little then a blur, his crimson red haori streaming behind like a banner of blood through the environment, as he projected himself forward, like a living bolt, aimed straight at the towering Lycan Chieftain, or whatever it was. The Zantetsuken not not merely a technique, at least not to him. It was a state of being, becoming one with the massive blade he wielded. As he bolted across the battlefield, his chakra took form as it focused itself to a razer edge, flooding down from his sword arm, and straight into Masamune. His blade glow, it absorbed the light emitted by his chakra, the steel turning something into dangerous, something that demanded to be fed. With his Sharingan leading the assault, it giving him the data he needed, the weight it distributed when it attacked, to the minute gaps in it's guard as it attacked with it's own massive weapon, he saw a thousand points of failure mapped in his mind.

In the milliseconds that came, there was no words shared, no shouting, only the faint sounds of a high pitched wine of air being torn in half. In those milliseconds, his form flickered, his raw speed so intense, so blistering, it could decieve even the eyes of the trained. In his attempt to bring down the beast in full swoop, he charged at the giant lycan in a line of pure motion, making appear as If he was already on the other side of the beast, his blade heled extending in a finishing posture of a horizontal cut, his body now low and centered. Moments later, a line of perfect darkness would attempt to appear across the giant lycan's midsection, just above it's belt of tropias. It was line so thin, even he thought it was imaginary for a millisecond. If he had managed to land his technique, the beast would suffer from a grunt of confusion, a sound coming his chest, before his upper half of it's torso would begin a slow slow descend as it would slide away, ensuring one thing, the cut was to be clean, cleaner then any attack made possible, unless they too, were mastered of the blade. So clean, there wouldn't even be a initial spray of blood, only the glimpse of a severed body before a dark crimson line would suddenly erupting, painting the snow in a grotesque show.

By that time however, he wasted no time in admiring the handiwork he was used to. The instant his blade completed it's pass, he would already be on the move again, his Sharingan being used to allow him whirl through the battlefield...
